[Ensing Richard J. Litt - Commander's Office, Front Ear Station]"But it's the most important thing, after all, without a captain, a ship is nothing." He said with one continuing his tour of the station and following alongside the captain. When they were about to enter the turbolift, a man got out, kissed Judith and they both started a conversation. Litt just stared at them as they talked until the man introduced himself to Litt as the captain's husband. "Oh, hello sir, I'm Ensign Litt." Litt said shaking the man's hand and looking directly at him.

[Capt. Judith Eastman(-Williams) & Max Williams - Turbolift -> Deck 6]"Pleased to meet you," Max answered. He was friendly, if a bit more shy than his wife. "I won't hold you up," he added, to Judy. "Actually, we were just touring the station, if you don't mind joining us.""Of course," he accepted. Even with Max by her side, Judy kept her focus on Litt, a master multitasker that she was. She led both men onto a turbolift, and sent it for deck 6. "So, to what you said about Captains, I like to think of it like a... like a Football...""...that's American Football..." Max interrupted his American wife, in his Scottish accent. "Yes, that's right. The Captain is a bit like the quarterback, on an American Football team. I have a unique role - a necessary role - to play, but I need the rest of the crew to thrive in their positions, or else nothing works. There's no team without the quarterback, but the quarterback is useless without the other players. So the ship - or station - is nothing without a Captain, as you said, but the Captain is nothing without her crew."The turbolift deposited them on Deck 6, at the entrance to the station park.

[Ensing Richard J. Litt - Deck 6]"It is a pleasure to meet you too, sir." Litt said, casting a smile at the man. The boy thought for a moment about comparing Judith to her role as Captain and a quarterback on a football team. ”American football” he thought, smiling at Max's comment.
"It makes perfect sense, madame."[/font He said with a little smile. Soon after, they arrived at Deck 6.

[Capt. Judith Eastman(-Williams) & Max Williams - Park, Deck 6]Judy and Max walked out of the turbolift holding hands, leading Litt into the park. They were two halves of a whole, happily giving a tour of the station in harmony. "This is one of our favorite spaces on the station - the park. You get all sorts of people coming up here to relax, or work out," Judy explained. "We had a big backyard on Earth, so this is a taste of home for us," Max added, and then pivoted to a question. "Where did you grow up?"

[Ensing Richard J. Litt - Park, Deck 6]"It sure seems like a great place to workout." Litt said observing the whole landscape and the people who were already there in a moment of relaxation. When she heard Max's question he smiled looking at him. “I grew up in Alpha III. It was a colony of Earth, in the Alpha quadrant.” He said with a little smile to the man. "But I left there as soon as I was old enough to enter the Academy." He said at last looking directly at the man.

[Capt. Judith Eastman(-Williams) & Max Williams - Park -> Turbolift]Judy nodded. "I know Alpha III. I worked the terraforming project over on Aliv VII[fn]Aliv VII was terraformed, a project that was completed in the year 2344.[/fn], two systems over, back in my civilian days, and visited Alpha III a couple of times. I imagine you weren't even born yet."Max felt a need to add a clarifying detail. "Judy didn't actually join Starfleet until she was in her 40s," he said. With a motion, Judy led them back towards the turbolift.

[Ensing Richard J. Litt - Deck 6]"No, ma'am ... I was born in 2359." He said with a glance at the captain and then smiled a little when Max commented on Judith's age upon entering the fleet. "Should I ask her why she was only 40?" Litt thought to himself as he walked the couple back to the turbolift. "Better save it for another time.""Where are we going now, ma’am?" He asked when the three got on the turbolift.

[Capt. Judith Eastman(-Williams) & Max Williams - Turbolift -> Promenade, Deck 8]For both Judy and Max, it was a fact of life that their colleagues were quite young, like Ensign Litt. It was just a way of life. To Litt's question, Max answered, knowing Judy well enough that he could tell where she was taking them. "The Promenade, the beating heart of the station," he answered. "Three whole decks of shops and restaurants.""That's right. You'd be amazed at the variety we have. It reminds me of Manhattan, in its own way."The turbolift deposited them onto the Promenade, on deck 8. It was bustling with people, of all ages and all species, Starfleet and civilian alike.
