[ T’Laara - Sickbay] The storm died down, and the sand resettled around her feet. T’Laara stumbled a little, drained after the exertion. When the air cleared, the shadow was gone… and what was more, there was a smudge of green on the horizon behind Unique. A way out. They had to get to it, to wake up. She started to run towards it, the air shifted again, and… T’Laara sat up suddenly in the biobed, disoriented. Around her was a room she did not remember going to, and sea of faces, some familiar, some not. Everything was entirely out of place. She still felt the emotional upheaval and physical strain that she had in the dream. “What…” This was Front Ear's sickbay; something must have happened. Feeling the brush of a leaf against her arm, she turned towards Unique instead. Are you harmed?

[Unique - Front Ear - Sickbay]The presence of the Intruder vanished, unable to withstand the double assault. A few moments later, it felt itself returned to its own mind, awareness of the room and Others present returning to its focus. T'Laara's voice reached it again, much gentler, concerned even. If the bud could smile as it faced her, it would have. "I am unharmed. You are safe now."Its attention was caught by others it hadn't been aware of being there. Jovireh felt strong, steady... But Leanna was fading in and out of its awareness. Its leaf brushed the Vulcan's arm once more before it moved away, ambling to the heat source containing Leanna's presence. There was no time to waste. Other friends still needed its help. It was easier this time to slip into the mind of the dreamer. There was an unwanted presence here as well, and Unique felt its anger rise once more. How many were there? "Leanna, you must get angry." Unique called out to her. "I will help, but anger weakens it." Anger was, perhaps, the only emotion that overrode fear. It was a curious notion the plant decided to speak to Doran about during their next visit. For now, however, it needed to use what it had learned to help its other friends.

[Dream Realm] The incessant banging coming from outside as the shadow continued its assault on her still weakened mental barriers, was enough to make Lea clutch her head in pain. She knew what she had to do but the onslaught of such a deranged and dangerous whatever it was, was becoming more and more difficult. Flashes of anger, frustration and the need to destroy her were like tiny little daggers piercing her brain. Unable to actually do anything other than let it win. That's until she heard a voice call out to her and through struggle realised who it belonged too. " Unique?" she called back, wanting to make sure it was the plant rather than some hallucination concocted by the shadow. Although the more she listened the more she dared to hope that it was Unique as the shadow, wouldn't want her to get angry or at the very least didn't give the impression that it wanted to help. " You heard my friend, get out and leave this place. You can't have my soul or threaten me any longer".The shadow on the otherhand realised who this interloper was and quickly turned towards Unique. " You may of killed my brethren but you can't kill me and I will have your friend".

[ Cwm Eliska Bremmer - Sickbay -> Ops - Front Ear Station ]"Sure thing, Doc," Eliska replied. She didn't have much choice about getting Ensign Evoris down there; after all, a direct order from a Captain was pretty well the word of some divine entity so far as a mere Crewman was concerned. Though, she certainly hadn't wanted to leave Ops with that thing hanging in the air as a truly threatening presence. But, now, she was a heavily armed, and entirely superfluous presence in Sickbay. "And Doc? Thanks for telling me about Velal. Can you please let me know when she wakes up?"And, with that said, Bremmer headed right out of the medical facility. So far as she knew, that thing was still up top so she better get back there. With a nod, she headed out of Sickbay and the ride back to Ops felt like much faster than the last one, and when she arrived, the shadow was gone, and her team was standing in a corner out of the way, like bumps on a log. "Captain? Mister Evoris' been delivered to Sickbay, and other casualties are responding to treatment according to Doc Paawin."Then, she made her way to the panel she had used earlier, and a few keystrokes later, she looked up. "And good news, the RADHAZ drill's been going really well; very little non-compliance."

[Lt. Paawin Riyo - Front Ear - Sickbay]At the Crewman's request, Riyo nodded with a reassuring smile. "Of course." Granted, it would be entirely up to Ms. Velal whom he did or didn't contact, but from what he knew of her, she wasn't the type of person to leave anyone worrying about her. The woman left, and the doctor turned his attention back to his patients, just in time to see the one beside the plant waking up. Hope flooded through him, and as the plant quickly moved elsewhere - to Leanna's side - he took its place next to T'Laara. "Welcome back. How are you feeling?" He glanced up at the monitor briefly, happy to see that all the readings seemed to be in the normal range for the first time since she'd been transported here. Though whatever the hell had happened, he wouldn't be surprised if she was still feeling some lingering effects. It also gave him hope that the plant was now assisting Lea... perhaps she would be the next to wake.

[PO1 Jovireh Velal - Dreamland - Ghost Ship]The plant's voice echoed behind her, as the did the sound of it throwing itself against her barriers. Jovireh continued to ignore it, though, pleased that she was able to contain such an entity. Her father would be proud. She followed the green lights to a door that slid open before her, and she stepped off the ship into the velvety blackness of dreamless sleep. The monitors above Jovireh's bed showed an increase in telepathic activity, and a decrease in delta waves. For all intents and purposes, she was sleeping peacefully.

[Unique - Leanna's Mind]"I am here, Leanna," it replied reassuringly to her clarification, before turning its attention to the Intruder. The anger it felt over this trespass and threat continued to rise, and as Unique spoke once more, it directed that anger towards the entity. "You cannot have them!" It understood now what Jovireh had once said about the Hive it came from being territorial and protective. The rage it felts towards these Intruders was foreign to it, but a seemingly natural response to the invasion of its home and danger to its friends. It wielded that rage the same way the Hive had done to the away team the day it was taken, and Unique only regretted briefly that Jovireh had taken the brunt of it that time. This time it would use this anger weapon to help her, and Leanna, and Ic, and any others as it had T'Laara.

[Operations - Command Deck] After giving Sickbay the information about the anomaly and encouraging the treatment that had been given so far. Thea had moved over to Mila's console to take a look for herself and whilst she didn't fully understand all of the science behind such phenomena, living with a scientist certainly helped. Talking quietly with the Ensign about the changes they were seeing and ensuring it was all recorded for further study. Thea thought about the entity or lifeform controlling the shadows, wondering what it would do next now that they were fighting back so to speak. It was during these quiet musings that Bremmer returned, turning round as she updated Thea about Evoris and Sickbay. " I'm glad you got there without further incident and that's great news indeed". As the Crewman then made her way over to the console she had used earlier and gave some further good news. Thea allowed herself a small smile as she responded to it. " Excellent, hopefully it won't be much longer until we can end the drill. Keep monitoring for now as Mila is keeping a close eye on the anomaly. It seems as though what we're doing here is causing it to change and shrink. Although the danger isn't quite over yet".It was true it wasn't and Thea wasn't about to get too complacent about it either. For now they would continue until such a time when the anomaly and shadows left the station for good.

[ T’Laara - Sickbay] The pieces started to come together as T’Laara watched Unique move to where Leanna was lying on another biobed, after assuring her that it was not harmed. The shadow in her dream must have been as real as it claimed to be, and affecting other people too. Something like pride might have stirred within her as the plant began to help the Betazoid woman, before she automatically attempted to regain her logical composure to face the doctor. “It is for you to tell me if I am well, but I believe whatever happened has past,” she answered him simply. “The last thing I recall was being in the Blue Beta and experiencing a compulsion to sleep. I had a strange dream where I was trapped by a living shadow. However, I was able to fight it, and in the end Unique appeared to assist with driving it away completely.” She still felt a lingering unease, but it was not directly caused by the shadow. “What is happening? Is there anything I can do?” tag Jovireh Velal (Riyo), soft tag to all in sickbay

[ Ensign Ic Arbrell — Sickbay, Front Ear] He drew a breath at the sound of that name that wasn’t his own, as if he could taste it on the back of his tongue the more deeply he inhaled. It was thick like vanilla sugar, bitter like coffee or the realization that something you needed was lost. “I mean, you look like you’re dying, you could have actually died, of course your presence would be ‘required,’” Ic muttered in response to Evoris’— what was that, sarcasm? a joke? Ic often missed these things even when he could feel someone’s actual intention, but without it, the Vulcan became, honestly, even more baffling. Only, the Betazoid found that it didn’t bother him the way it normally did; he was more or less just confused. “Anyway, can’t I be concerned about you?”Evoris had been concerned for him before. Equivalent exchange kept the universe together. But for some reason, it felt as if it was all sort of… coming apart. The beeping of machines was a choir above the incoming murmur of voices upon voices; the blinking lights and blocky displays of the monitors rose around him and blurred together, weightless. The black blood on Evoris’ face glinted in all colors like stars in an oil slick, and whispered— He could feel the green streak of Unique nearby (and far away), the way one hears a voice in another room. He could feel darkness nearby, in the back of his throat. “I think… something’s happening.”

[Ensign Evorís - Sickbay, Front Ear] Evorís stared back at Ic, and failed to understand past the feathery movement of words between them. He could fathom no logical reason for the Betazoid— or anyone— to waste concern on him, while their own lives were in danger. There was purpose in the hazard of his position. Starfleet uniform had long-since changed, but superstition remained on Earth, and Evorís took the red of his vêtements as prophecy. He shrugged, and feeling the sensation return to his fingers, moved to stand. “Do as you wish,” he said, with a glance that drew across the shoulders and down, lingering briefly on the Betazoid’s left hip. Surely, it would not be noticed through the black of his eyes. “But your energy would be better spent elsewhere.” If Evorís was to die, he was already gone; his katra sighed wearily, as though disappointed to be revived. Ic, at least, had not yet bled his soul. “Particularly now.”The tone of Ic’s voice changed, and Evorís responded in syncopation, stepping away from the biobed with a crease between sharp eyebrows and eyes dragging across the sickbay for any sign of a shadow. If that was what Ic was sensing, they would all be in danger. (And if, in his urgency, he’d placed himself as a barrier, could he be faulted for it?) He tapped his combadge. =A= “Ensign Evorís to Ops, requesting a scan of the neurogenic energy displacement on Deck 10, especially nearby Sickbay. The settings should already be fixed on my console.” =A= It was entirely possible— expected, actually— that there would already be some neural displacement around each victim, but if there was a Shadow in the vicinity, it would likely be a more noticeable difference. Perhaps, they could even track its movements, or even— assuming the entity had a physical form— contain it.

[Dream Realm] The presence of Unique and its reassurance as it confirmed that it was her friend, became extra armour, especially when the shadow turned its attention on the plant. Leanna refused to let this thing hurt her friend or do any more damage. So as Unique aimed its rage at the creature, the Betazoid drew from that and, her own remaining strength to help it. " Your time is up and you can't hurt me or Unique anymore" Lea blasted angrily as she used the dream against it. Clouds began to form behind her, becoming more and more darker as she reached out to Unique. " Let's finish this thing". All of the anger that she could summon up at being invaded in this way was put into oncoming rain storm , buoyed up by Unique's arrival as she couldn't of done this on her own. Meanwhile the shadow continued its onslaught of hate, its power weakening as the rain was unleashed. Unable to hold on as the storm raged before it was struck by a bolt of colourful thunder. Leanna didn't care as the rain signified cleansing and healing and as the shadow turned to Ash without so much as a word of defeat. The Betazoid turned to her friend and spoke to him with relief. " Thank you, my friend and I think it's time for me to wake up".To those on the outside, the power of Unique had done wonders once more as Leanna began to stir from her unexpected slumber.

[Ensign Enola - Sickbay - Front Ear]
Enola was still standing with her back to the wall, trying to bear her headache without curling the corners of her mouth. It was getting better and she appreciated the little things in a situation like this, but she could still feel her pulse reverberating in her skull.
Her gaze wandered slowly and a little uncertainly through the sickbay, from person to person. "Let me know if there's anything I can do to help," she told the Bajoran, but hardly believed he would let her take over anything. Especially after T'Laara and Evoris had already offered their help as well. Speaking of Evoris. Her eyes wandered once more to the half-Vulcan and the Betazoid and fixed on Evoris. She understood his action, but still this 'I'm not important' act was starting to get on her Romulan nerves. Finally, she moved away from her place and went towards the two men, because the doctor was already taking care of the patients who had just been awakened. It would have been very ironic and absolutely illogical if she had asked them how they were doing. She could see that very well. So she gave them both a nod before stopping at an appropriate distance.

[Lt. Paawin Riyo - Front Ear - Sickbay]Riyo listened with rapt attention as T'Laara told her story. It matched up with the information he'd gotten from Ops about the fatality... "It looks like there's an entity of some sort that's been preying on the telepaths of the station. Captain Baker is working on addressing it directly. The good news is, there doesn't look to be any physical damage caused... though I'd like you to stay here for awhile for monitoring, just to be on the safe side." Especially until they knew for certain that entity was gone. The last thing he wanted was to release his patients back to their quarters just for them to be attacked again, when they might not have the strength to fight it off a second time. He glanced over his shoulder where the plant was still beside Leanna, wondering what sort of dream she was having, and praying Unique was successful in helping her the same way. "Our new assistant seems to be fond of you. When you feel up to it, and when it has a free moment... any information you can get about its experiences here would be very helpful." As presumably the only telepath on the station that wasn't directly affected by these living shadows, it could hopefully provide more detailed information on what was going on. Tag Shavan Th'zhaar [Unique - Leanna's Mind --> Sickbay]The rain Leanna had conjured was refreshing for the tiring plant, and although it wasn't physical rain it soaked up the sensation all the same. As with T'Laara, its awareness shifted back to its own form as Leanna awoke, and it addressed her gently. "You are safe now." Its job wasn't over yet. Jovireh was still unconscious, though her presence was strong and steady. Perhaps she had defeated the Intruder on her own... It would check in with her next. For now, it focused on Ic's presence... stronger, but not quite right. The plant shuffled towards the collection of People that Ic was among, and gently brushed a leaf against its newest friend's arm. "Has the Intruder tried to take you?"

Hearing the plant moving again, Riyo turned to see Leanna's eyes open. Everything else forgotten, he rushed to her side, worried blue eyes meeting hers as he gently took her hand. "Imzadi..." There were so many things he wanted to say in that moment, thoughts bumping into each other on their way to his mouth, and he finally settled for a single question that encompassed most of them. "How do you feel?" It wasn't enough, but he knew she would hear the concern in his voice and know how worried he'd been for her.

[Sickbay - Deck 10] Waking up was usually a lot more pleasant than feeling as though she had ran the full length of the park. Not to mention the various aches and pains that came with it, that reminded Leanna of the fire tigers of Argellia. No this was something else entirely as she realised where she was, following Unique's lasting reassurance that she was safe now and the memory of the shadow creature that remained at the forefront of her mind. Now she understood why she felt this way as she became aware of those present, before Riyo appeared at her side. The feel of his hand in hers and seeing the worry in his eyes, told Leanna just how worried he had been. Which in turn made Lea appreciate Unique helping her return all the more. As her Imzadi tried to find the words that he wanted to say, before settling on how she was feeling. Leanna looked at him, attempting to smile despite how weak she was right now. " Tired, achy but thankful to be awake" she replied honestly. Everything was still relatively fuzzy but she was very certain about that last part.
