Personal History
Early Life/Pre-Starfleet Career:
Born in 2353 in the city of Ma'Kala, Nazra was the middle child of Senator Temok and his wife Yizri, a dancer and playwright in the Capitol. Chosen at a very early age by the Joining Council to become bonded, Nazra initially bristled to the idea, but grew to accept it after discussions with a joined family friend over life experiences across the centuries.
This proved as an ultimate motivator, convincing her of the amount of good she could do with such a gift bestowed to her.
It was at this point she decided to pursue a career in medicine, after initially thinking of following politics like her father. Making a name for herself was more exciting- Especially since in her adulthood her "self" would be more broadly defined.
At the age of 18, after good grades throughout her education, Nazra became a student at Tysezri Medical Academy, where she studied for three years until her bonding day arrived in June of 2374. Nazra underwent the sacred ritual of her people in the underground caves of Trill, becoming host of the symbiont Pas, as well as the keeper of the memories and experiences of Telmor, a musician, Mariz, an athlete, and Veroz, an archaeologist.
The bonding brought out a radical change in the young woman. Telmor was a troubled soul struggling with unresolved grief throughout his life and continued heartaches that sent him to an early grave, Mariz pushed herself in many ways similarly to the young Nazra, ultimately at the cost of her relationships, and Veroz found tranquility in the past and among dusty ruins with his beloved allies.
Nazra struggled immensely with varying unresolved issues that should have ended decades ago, with lasting lack of closure affecting her work and studies until she was introduced to meditative techniques and practiced ceremony to get a handle on her new experiences.
Motivated but forever changed, Nazra continued her studies in medicine, taking her time to make friends and colleagues on the way, when before she isolated and was considered arrogant by her peers. Deeply moved by her past lives as she reflected on them, she drew on them to explore and motivate herself to graduate in 2378 with a doctorate.
Faced with the option of opening a practice on Trill, she elected another route, saying goodbye to her family and moving to California to join Starfleet Academy.
Starfleet Academy:
2378 was an exciting and exceptionally busy year for Nazra. Despite joining Starfleet older than most cadets, she sought to become a commissioned officer, using her existing doctorate to practice as a visiting resident at the Academy medical center during her studies.
It was at this time she met a civilian- A human woman named Kim Davis, who worked at an art gallery in the city. Bonding over a shared interest in sculpture and pottery, the two became friends, taking long mutual walks across the Golden Gate Bridge and through the city to share each other's stories.
It took an inordinate amount of time before Nazra realized she had feelings for the gallery curator. She'd known love through her past host's experiences, but never had she felt such a way about someone. After struggling to find the words to tell her, Kim reassured her the feeling was mutual, and in fact, Kim thought they'd been dating for some time, owing to long walks and dinners.
Nazra and Kim became engaged in 2380 after a vacation to Trill to introduce Kim to her family and culture. Returning to a new apartment in San Francisco, Nazra was the happiest she'd ever been, waking up under a golden sunrise shining a light on the bright future she saw ahead of her.
In the meantime, the Academy felt like a fast track to success. Being able to practice medicine across the galaxy as well as to experience new cultures and civilization was a dream, and through hard work and the motivation given to her by her beloved, she was given her Ensign pip upon graduating in 2381.
She seeks to serve with honor and distinction in her new role bestowed to her by Starfleet.

"I believe I know what the problem is. I'm pretty familiar with it." Nazra thumbed through her PADD, looking up at the patient sitting on her examination bed. "You're putting yourself through too much stress."
She hugged the PADD to her chest. "I've been there. There's nothing my scans didn't pick up that couldn't be fixed with some R&R. No one can work themselves until they collapse and come through good on the other side. I'm gonna ask you to just.. go see friends instead of requesting extra shifts. Go get scheduled time in the Holodeck.'
The patient thanked her and left after getting a pat on the arm. She could have used that advice when she was younger, always striving to impress herself. Thankfully those days were in the past. She adjusted the collar of her labcoat and watched the door close.
