[Paawin/Mazal Accommodation - Colony, LZ2, Kerelia] Leanna had always known that they were in a unique situation and yet hoped that Riyo's reassurance would allow Ari to make her own choice as to what she would be comfortable with when addressing him. There was no rush though and all that really mattered was love and being a family. When her Imzadi then chuckled at Aven's antics before agreeing with her. He was right, it wasn't always easy, something that she had finally admitted to herself after trying to do everything and letting people in to help. " That's very true but it's nice to have someone else to share that with" she admitted with a smile as Riyo then spoke to Aven. Aven giggled and smiled in response, clearly happy with what was being said, even if he didn't understand it quite yet. Then came a glimmer of concern as he wandered over to the window. Whatever he had noticed didn't sit well with Lea, although Ari's return prevented her from going over immediately. So asked instead using their link, so as not to worry the children. " Is everything okay out there, what did you see?".
Tag Jovireh Velal [Lt. Paawin Riyo - Kerelia Colony LZ-2 - Paawin/Mazal Accomodations]Hearing her question in his mind, Riyo tried to keep his expression passive as he knew she didn't want to concern Ari. "I'm not sure," he replied silently, his eyes still on what he could of the activity down the street. "Lot of activity at one of the construction zones. Pretty sure it's the tour group, but I can't tell what they're doing." He also could not think of a reason for a tour to be spending so much time in a construction area. Gently swaying Aven in his arms so the boy wouldn't feel forgotten, he kept watching for a few minutes longer, looking for any clues as to what might be going on, and if it was something they needed to be concerned about.

[Paawin/Mazal Accommodation - Colony, LZ2, Kerelia] Mindful of the fact that Ari would likely start asking questions and want to look out of the window if her Mother went over to Riyo. Lea stayed put as Riyo answered her through their link, still unable to shake the sense of foreboding as she listened to his description of what he could see. Understanding why he was unsure especially if it involved one of the tour groups. Although if there was a lot of activity it could mean, well anything depending on who was there. " Hmm hopefully it's nothing and they're just really interested in the construction of the colony. Then again we're talking about groups of people from Front Ear, nothing ever seems to go smoothly does it?".There was no point in sugarcoating her response as they both knew that living on board the station was never straightforward and normal.

[Eta Borir - 3rd St. Kerelia, Lz-2] Eta frowned (as far as you can call it frowning with her forehead architecture), and open her mouth, but briefly brought out nothing more than a croak. "Holocaust," she repeated silently. Was she supposed to be telling the truth? No, he was still young. Too young. As for the details of the Cardassian occupation, he'll still learn in school as soon as the teachers deem him old enough. In general, religion was a tricky subject (especially as a Cardassian, when you don't really deal with earthly religion), and Eta didn't want to say anything wrong. She decided to go with Max's question for now. "Yes, helping will probably be the best thing for now".
She decided not to mention that according to the Cardassian religion it was delicate to remove a dead Cardassian as not Cardassian. It would dishonor the dead if non Cardassian saw his remains. Still, they were not on Cardassia, and there were no other Cardassians here to help with the removal.
Now for another question..... What was she doing here? She did not elaborate.
[NPCs - Max Williams & Michael Eastman - N 3rd St, LZ-2]Max noticed that Eta hadn't answered his question about her work, and chose not to press it. It would be harder to find something useful for her to do, but he'd try. "You see these orange traffic cones over there?" he asked, motioning to a stack of the classic traffic control devices. "Let's lay them out over here, at the entrance to this street."North 3rd Street (its temporary name) intersected here with the main boulevard of the colony, temporarily called Kerelia Blvd. Max and Michael began to lay out cones at this intersection, hoping Eta would join them. "They're very light. Must be made of advanced materials," the boy observed of the cones.
Tag Enola [Capt. Judith Eastman(-Williams), PhD - N 3rd St, LZ-2, Kerelia]As she waited for Mr. Mora's ideas, Judy tapped her combadge. She'd need to get someone on the autopsy beat, and who better than her acting CMO? =A= "Eastman to Paawin. I need you to head over to the infirmary. We have an autopsy to perform, as part of a wrongful death investigation." =A=.

[ Eta Borir - 3rd St. Kerelia, LZ-2] Eta took a deep breath. That was what she was actually doing every second. She was almost panting. She thought for a moment about what to do. Start a conversation with someone? certainly not. The Cardassian ran after Max and the little boy, and tried to help. What the hell else was she supposed to do. She piled the pieces on top of each other to be able to take many at once, and lifted them crowing. _________________________ Tag Judith Eastman

[Charlie Fox - Crane Street, LZ-2, Kerelia]... She lifted one shoulder in a lopsided shrug. "Sure." She took a moment to try and discern how she felt about Niles after they'd all been left by the crew of the Mac to die in a prison. It wasn't a question she could answer straight away. She'd been abandoned, but he'd also fed her cat, and Dante wasn't the friendliest creature. She brought up Olsen's UI on her PADD, then raised her hand in a signal to the drone. "Transfer of any recorded data will require admin approval." Meaning he couldn't copy anything without her say-so. She'd learned that one the hard way. She tapped out a string of commands and then passed the handheld over. She appeared to be only one on the tour who had bothered to bring anything useful, and would have to share with others. "Wanna drive?"From peripheral vision, she caught the flutter of loose clothing and robes as the Bajorans moved off, full of a quiet indignation she thought she'd like to master one day. [ LT Joshua Niles - N 3rd St, Colony, LZ-2, Kerelia ]There were many things one Joshua Niles was uncertain of in life. And right now, one of them was one Charlie Fox. He was not quite sure where they had stood before orders had come to leave her and four others on Caldonia; he had hoped she counted him a friend. But with what had happened? How he'd just followed his orders throughout the whole process and not done... something? He remembered well that meeting with Captain Eastman, and how his fist had hammered a sliver out of her table when he'd hit it in his rage. He remembered his fury at leaving people behind at the word of some admiral who, even though related to Captain Ellis, he wouldn't mind spending twenty minutes in a locked room with for a thoroughly off-the-record conversation about that course of action... And that all he could have done for her while she was held was to look after that furry demon she called a cat, with whom he'd somehow managed to strike some kind of a truce after a number of initial attacks that had left him in need of repairing a few uniforms, and the synthetic skin covering his prosthetic. So, asking her for help was not something he was doing lightly, and he would have completely understood if she'd refused to help an officer on the crew that had abandoned her, no matter what he might have preferred himself. But, she did accept and presented him with the handheld controls, and he considered them for a moment, and her choice of words earlier... He most certainly had that coming as well, even though he'd not shared what he had seen in those sensor recordings with anyone. However, he did shake his head. "Honestly, I wouldn't know where to start, and the faster the scene can be documented, the better it would be, if only not to start a rumour mill. So, would you mind, so we can get this over with as quickly as possible?" While the situation dictated he was, legally at least, allowed to issue orders to anyone he so deemed necessary in the course of the investigation, he knew such a thing hardly worked well on the firebrand journalist; in fact, he expected such a thing would be thrown back into his face with a vengeance. And besides, he did respect her, and like her, enough that asking was the least he could do, and he would hardly press the issue if she refused to; which she would be legally allowed to given the Federation law provisions regarding freedom of the press... And, with this accomplished, he turned towards the crime scene, and started the initial scans, seeking to catalogue, well, any lingering proof that may be present.

{Quoted Posts} [Capt. Judith Eastman(-Williams), PhD, Max Williams, & Michael Eastman - N 3rd St, LZ-2]At seven years of age, Michael was young enough to get away with this mispronunciation. However, as Judy had a feeling it was deliberate (if not by him than by Mabel, who loved to show the little boy around Grandma's work), she made a note to investigate it... once the death investigation was tended to. "Maybe we can get fudge together," Michael suggested obliviously. "Maybe later, sweetheart. Lt. Niles and Grandma have to work now," Judy declined, with a distinctly apologetic tone. She hated for family time with Michael to be interrupted like this, but at least the boy didn't fully grasp the situation, it seemed. She focused on the job. "Lieutenant, the locals answer to us right now, so what we say, goes. Do what you need, but don't stop the festival altogether," she ordered. The station and the colony had a fair bit riding on this event, as a follow-up to Galaxyvision that would show their tourist potential. Not to mention that, as a great respecter of religious and cultural traditions, Judy would hate to shut them down. Before moving on, Judy gave Max a quick kiss. Without needing words, they both understood the bargain it indicated. He'd watch the family, she'd tend to the situation, and this time, she'd stay out of danger. She walked swiftly towards where crewman Mora had lowered the body, and through her prescription sunglasses, observed it. Cardassian, male, elderly, corpulent; the decades had not been kind to this body, and today had not been kind to this soul. "We can perform an autopsy at the infirmary[fn]See map![/fn], but we'll have to move him. You got a good way to do that?" she asked. Meanwhile, Max noticed the youthful Cardassian standing next to Lt. Niles. "You must be new here," he said, making small-talk. "I'm Max, Captain Eastman's husband."He was curious why a Cardassian would be down here, for a Bajoran holiday of all things. [ Shavan Th'zhaar - Colony, LZ-2, Kerelia] Shavan accepted the flask, took a drink, and handed it back to Kova. Meanwhile, most people on the tour were panicking and rushing into action. In contrast, he felt absolutely no compulsion to get up and do… what, exactly? The dead man was, well, dead. There was no helping him. More people joining in would just add to the chaos. He leaned back and watched as they lowered the Cardassian. Kova was right; it was clearly no accident, but that might not matter when it came to saving face. "Yeah, probably," he agreed with a shrug. She said it was a statement, which was very clear. Though he had no reason to share the prejudice, he knew that lots of people hated Cardassians, Bajorans especially. “Not a very creative statement. It's almost too obvious.” So was it really that simple, or had whoever did it just wanted people to think that? Either way, there was no need to get involved. It was just a thought. [Ens. Syl O'Connell - Kerelia - Colony N 3rd St.]Charlie began talking to one of the teenagers in the area, and Syl gave a wry grin as she listened. While she'd never had time for the social aspects of growing up, thanks to her parents' strict policies, she knew that a live recording of accidentally finding a body would spread like wildfire. "Go ahead," she chimed in as the girl seemed surprised that her followers wanted to see more of what was going on. "Let the galaxy see how Starfleet handles a crisis." The bitterness in her voice surprised even her, and she wasn't entirely certain which part of this situation brought it out of her. Emotional recognition was one of the many things that had been difficult for her since their return. Rather than dwell on whatever-it-was she was feeling, she turned her attention back to the bustling activity, glad that they finally got the corpse out of view. Even a Cardassian didn't deserve to be left dangling like that. Another reaction she wasn't expecting was the sudden rise of anxiety that gripped her chest as she watched. If you're upright, you can work! the voice echoed in her mind. Her hand rubbed across the scars on her throat once more, this time deliberately, reminding herself that the collar was gone. The shock wouldn't come, no matter what she did or didn't do. Taking a deep breath, she turned her back to the rest of the group, taking several steps away. Syl hated just how habitual being a slave had become. They had only been imprisoned for a month, and still she had a hard time reminding herself that things were different now. Perhaps the others had been right in their steady show of defiance. But there was nothing she could do about that now. Folding her hands behind her neck, she closed her eyes and forced herself to take deep, slow and steady breaths, fighting back the anxiety that was stubbornly clawing at her. [ LT Joshua Niles - N 3rd St, Colony, LZ-2, Kerelia ]"Aye Captain," Niles answered as he assessed the immediate situation. True, on paper he was qualified for this, but it fell so far out of his sphere of true expertise regardless... But, one didn't get to pick and choose what they were to work on, so long as at least they had a piece of paper saying they were fit to accomplish the task at hand. "I don't think I'll have to shut down the whole festival, just the immediate area. Doctor Kelter will have to readjust her tour, but this area will have to be heavily restricted starting right now. As for an autopsy, I'd like to get a few raw scans first. Speaking of which..."Niles looked around for a while. He needed tools, specifically at least a tricorder. And, of course, being in civilian attire, the only piece of Starfleet technology he wore was his commbadge. And then, he saw one construction worker with one at his waist, and he beckoned him over, only to relieve him of that most useful portable sensor and computer platform. But, before he headed towards the crime scene with his borrowed, battered tricorder in hand, he had an idea. Charlie Fox was with the group, and already Olsen had been all over the victim, and he walked over to the journalist as she was in conversation with a young lady. "Pardon the interruption. Charlie, I was wondering if I might be able to shanghai Olsen for a little bit, just to get some detailed imagery of that particular area?" [NPC - Louisa Keltner, PhD - N 3rd St, LZ-2]"I wouldn't dream of it," Louisa told the Bajorans sweetly, and then walked away. In her high heels (a rare choice for one working in construction, that belied a certain personality matrix), every step was a miracle, and yet there they were, one after the other. She spotted a blue-skinned duo off to the side, talking. Charmable, perhaps, and definitely an excuse to get away from Murra's bloated corpse, and from this disaster. "Whew, what a day!" she announced her arrival. "Dr. Louisa Keltner, Warp Age Designs. And you are?" [Charlie Fox - Crane Street, LZ-2, Kerelia]"Nice," came Charlie's response to the number, which admittedly was far more than she had initially expected. She arched a brow at the mention of the girl being forced to delete her account, curious as to the reason why. It couldn't be a reason that was relevant any more, since she had quite obviously created a new one. The loss of the original seemed an unnecessary waste. Syl's words sparked a smirk from Charlie, despite their circumstances. She glanced at the other woman, knowing she should probably be concerned at the cynicism - or was it bitterness? - but finding herself unable to disagree with the sentiment. There was a time when her opinion of the Fleet was an unusual one, but slowly, surely, it seemed others were discovering what truly lurked behind the orders and burocracy. "Those stories always make for high numbers," she agreed with Syl, then turned back to Rimi to encourage the girl a little. "Of course they want to see more, this is the most interesting, most real thing your viewers will see all year. Talk to them, engage, be their voice on the ground."Charlie whipped out her personal PADD and was adding herself to the girl's legion of followers, when Joshua Niles approached. She glanced up from her screen, then back down again until he spoke. She lifted one shoulder in a lopsided shrug. "Sure." She took a moment to try and discern how she felt about Niles after they'd all been left by the crew of the Mac to die in a prison. It wasn't a question she could answer straight away. "Exactly what meaning is still hidden? I hate you enough to kill you, and take enough pride in my work to hang it high and put it on display, rather than leave it on the ground as if it's a common kill." Kova took a sip from her flask once more. "I'd bet the motive is political... why else make the kill during the festival where a Bajoran audience is guaranteed?" Then a wave of frustration washed over Kova. "Ugh... I'm not analyzing this any further. Let's talk about something else. Anything, else."Kova began to look around the area, as a lingering thought seemed to filter to mind. "What do you think it would take to assigned one of these living units?"A few moments later, Kova and Shavan found themselves no longer alone, but in the company of some human that felt important enough to announce her presence. She introduced herself as Dr. Louisa Keltner of Warp Age Designs. If Kova was right, she had quite a bit to do with whatever building was happening here. Still, that didn't exactly influence Kova to offer a warm greeting to the woman's query of who they were. "Minding my own business," was Kova's reply. Perhaps Shavan could do the Starfleet thing and be more accommodating.

[Crewman Ezra Mora & Rimi Mora - On the tour, Colony, LZ-2, Kerelia] & Ezra considered the Captain's question about how to possibly move the body to the infirmary so that an autopsy could be performed. His initial thoughts would be just to wrap the body and haul it over his shoulder. The Cardassian didn't look that heavy, but at the same time, he doubted the Captain would approve of that particular method, even though it was easily the most effective. His mind searched for an alternative as the Captain attempted to contact a doc in the area. "I think I saw an anti-grav lift a few meters behind the crane. It'll take a few minutes to unload what's there, but that should do the trick."As he waited for the Captain's approval, his mind and eyes began to renew it's search for his daughter. Where the hell was Rimi? The only comfort he found was that she at least wasn't causing any trouble wherever she was. Meanwhile, Rimi was admittedly a little shell-shocked by the words that had left Syl's mouth. She stared at the woman, and could only wonder who this badass was that was giving the Fleet some serious 'tude?! It even seemed that the first woman was slightly impressed by the woman's stance as well. Yet, the way that the second woman talked, it seemed she really knew how to reach out to an audience. Maybe she was some sort of public speaker or something. For some reason, Rimi felt as if she should have known who this person was. "O-okay," she finally said. Rimi set up her comm-unit to go for live-stream and began to cast while speaking into the camera. "Okay, so what you saw a few minutes ago, was literally a Cardie-corpse hanging from the crane," Rimi said as she dialed up her unit to replay the last frames she'd captured of the body. "Clealry, someone is trying to literally rain blood on the parade of this Bajroan festival, the... Ha'mara?" Rimi glanced around to see if anyone knew if she had pronounced that correctly. Was that even important? "But the Fleet totally swarmed in on the scene. You can see they're even trying to keep things under wraps so that no one full-on freaks out!" Rimi adjusted her camera to see her father in the distance dragging the tarp into view to cover the body. For that, Rimi wanted to scream. He was totally killing her commentary-vibe. But then she noticed the officer approaching. She brought her finger to her lips as if hushing her audience. Rimi kept her feed streaming, but aimed the camera as best she could in Josh's direction as he approached Charlie. She only managed to get the lower part of their torsos. Candid cameras were much tougher than people thought. When the chance presented itself, she lifted her comm-unit and whispered into it. "The Fleet may be trying to commandeer footage and control the narrative." Her eyes watched Josh carefully, but she did her best not to stare. Not wanting to attract any attention. In the meantime, her mind was racing on how to possibly get a closer look at that body... for her followers of course."[/font]

Kova was probably right. Maybe in some messed up way, he only wanted to imagine some hidden motive or conspiracy. Because that was just the way the world worked. Or so he had believed, before Caldonia. It would be better not to think on it any more. So he glanced toward the housing units when she changed the subject. “I don’t know, I wasn't really listening either,” he admitted. He didn't know all that much about the colony, or Kerelia in general for that matter. Just because he was a science officer did not mean he was the type to wave a tricorder around in the jungle. If Kova was genuinely interested, she might have been better off actually paying attention to the tour. “Would you want to live in one?,” he asked, curious. Almost as if summoned by the topic of conversation, another distraction then arrived, but not necessarily the most welcome one. Shavan looked up at the human who spoke to them, wondering what she could possibly want. He was also not in the mood to explain who he was and what he did here… or more accurately, currently was not doing. “Can I help you with something?” he asked in a carefully neutral tone, choosing an only slightly more diplomatic approach. [Capt.
Tag Jovireh Velal (Riyo), outstanding Kova Sh'qaleq (Ezra) [Lt. Paawin Riyo - Kerelia Colony LZ-2 - Paawin/Mazal Accomodations]Riyo couldn't help but chuckle at Lea's not incorrect assessment, and turned away from the window. He had only taken a couple steps however when his com badge chirped. His face fell, even before the Captain's voice filled him in. The downside to being a doctor... Unexpected calls rarely carried good news. "I guess that answers that question," he said quietly, wishing Ari hadn't been in the room to hear it. Shuffling Aven in his arms, he tapped his badge to reply. =A="Understood, Captain. I'm on my way."=A= Setting Aven down in his pen, he ruffled the boy's hair once more, before rejoining Lea and Ari. Placing a hand on Lea's waist, he gave Ari a hug with his other arm. "You all go to the festival and have a good time. I'll join you as soon as I can." Giving Lea a soft kiss, he reluctantly stepped away, grabbing his med kit on the way out the door. They were just going to have to make do with him not being in uniform.

[Paawin/Mazal Accommodation - Colony, LZ2, Kerelia] Riyo may of chuckled at her nonchalant assessment, however the moment that his commbadge chirped and Judy spoke. Leanna wished that she hadn't been so accurate and knew that neither of them had wanted Ari to hear it. As much as she tried to protect the children from the dangers associated with life on the station and now here, it wasn't always possible. Luckily it didn't seem as though she was going to ask any questions at least for the moment as Riyo answered the hail. When he then put Aven in his playpen, before hugging Ari, Lea knew that he was reluctant to leave them. He had a job to do especially since becoming Acting CMO and his promise to join them at the festival was one that he would keep as soon as he was done. As much as this was about family time, Lea wasn't about to dwell or stay at the accommodation and would ensure that they enjoyed themselves until he could return. " We will and we'll see you there, once you're done, love you" she replied, before he kissed her and grabbed his medkit. Watching him leave, the fact that he hadn't changed, showed not only his reluctance but also that he wanted to get this done. " He'll be okay Mama" Ari said, making Lea smile as she turned to her daughter. " I know he will, little one so until we see him later, let's finish getting ready".

[Eta Borir - 3rd St.
[NPCs - Max Williams & Michael Eastman - N 3rd St, LZ-2]It seemed to Michael that Eta had misunderstood the idea behind traffic cones. Her people did have some bizarre ideas, he supposed. "No, no, these are just markers, these cones," he explained. "You put them on the ground, one at a time, about this far apart, not on top of each other."With his short arms, he marked a distance of about one meter. "These are a very old technology," Max added, explaining why Eta might not have been so familiar with them. "My wife, the Captain, used to be an engineer, so we know a lot about these things."

=A="Understood, Captain. I'm on my way."=A= [Capt. Judith Eastman(-Williams), PhD - N 3rd St, LZ-2]=A= "Thank you, doctor. Eastman out." =A= Judy clasped her hands behind her back, aware, from a distance, that Niles seemed to be mingling. "We'll have to load him on top of the other stuff. Too many wandering eyes here," she decreed. She ordered a construction worker to help lift the body, and then drag the lift out to the infirmary quickly. "Mr. Mora, these cranes keep a log of whose credentials activate them each day. I want you to check that log, and see if there's anything suspicious in it. I'll find a list of the scheduled operators, in the meantime."There was, however, one other administrative task to do. =A= "Eastman to Henriksen. I need you to report to the infirmary. We're conducting a wrongful death investigation after finding a dead Cardassian hanging from a crane, and I need you there to take the report when the autopsy is completed." =A= =A= "Yes, ma'am." =A=

{Click for Mabel's outfit today} [NPC - Lt. j.g. Mabel Henriksen - Infirmary, LZ-2]Two arrived in the infirmary, both in a hurry: the construction worker, bearing a cart with a dead Cardassian and window panels, and Mabel, in a black and white dress and a pair of glasses. The worker left in a hurry, but the Captain's assistant stayed around. She wouldn't watch, but she'd stay. The infirmary, while it lacked permanent staff, was fully equipped with state-of-the-art medical technology.

[Ens. Syl O'Connell - Kerelia - Colony N 3rd St.]Once she regained control of the mounting anxiety, Syl turned back and rejoined Charlie and Rimi, just in time to hear Lt. Niles ask to use Olsen for the investigation. "At least we know Olsen will come back," she muttered, not particularly caring if the man heard her. Her dry humor had gotten even more prominent since their return. Joking about the situation kept her from screaming at everyone she felt had been involved in leaving them behind. Besides, it still amazed her that the little robot had caught up to them the moment they had left The Pit. The fact that something that was supposedly not sentient showed more loyalty than the people who claimed to care about what happened to them spoke volumes to her. Hearing the girl whispering her commentary off to the side did bring a smile to her face. Sure, since she was still a commissioned officer with Starfleet, Syl probably shouldn't be encouraging such broadcasts. By the time she was released to go back to duty, maybe she would care.

[ Kova Sh'qaleq - Colony, LZ-2, Kerelia] A frustrated groan left Kova's lips as she turned to look over at Shavan. "Too obvious?" Kova repeated. She watched as the body began to descend. [ Shavan Th'zhaar - Colony, LZ-2, Kerelia] “I suppose.” Shavan shrugged, content enough to let the subject of the murder go. Kova Sh'qaleq [NPC - Louisa Keltner, PhD - N 3rd St, LZ-2]Louisa was a bit dismayed by the chilly reaction, but she didn't let it show. "I wouldn't mind some feedback on the tour, but I can see your girlfriend here isn't in the mood," she answered briefly. She tended to make assumptions, and sometimes they were wrong. "But, if you want to give me some anyway, or if you want to talk about a career outside of Starfleet, you know where to find me."Louisa began to walk towards her office in the Ops center, though slowly enough that the blue-skinned duo could follow her.

"They're bright orange, and with this reflective coating, so they're easily seen."Michael, precocious child that he was, felt inclined to add his own explanation. "Grandma says they're like beacons, but easier to use. Do they not use cones on Cardassia?"Perhaps Eta didn't have a grandmother with experience in construction (not everyone could have such a cool grandma like Michael did), but she might still know. Hidden under one of the cones that no one had moved yet was a tricorder.

[ LT Joshua Niles - N 3rd St, Colony, LZ-2, Kerelia ][...] But, she did accept and presented him with the handheld controls, and he considered them for a moment, and her choice of words earlier... [Crewman Ezra Mora & Rimi Mora - On the tour, Colony, LZ-2, Kerelia] [...] Meanwhile, Rimi was admittedly a little shell-shocked by the words that had left Syl's mouth. In the meantime, her mind was racing on how to possibly get a closer look at that body... for her followers of course." [Ens. [Charlie Fox - Crane Street, LZ-2, Kerelia]Charlie watched Josh as he refused Olsen's UI PADD and then in a roundabout way, asked her to do it herself. She shrugged again, remaining silent. Unusual for her, perhaps, to be so monosyllabic, but she had learned a valuable lesson or two over the course of her stay in prison, the biggest lesson of all being that sometimes she should keep her opinions to herself. Sometimes. That didn't mean that she didn't find Syl's dry wit or the girl's narration both highly amusing. And her one-time cellmate was right about one thing; Olsen was a lot more reliable than most. The drone had stayed, buried in sand and scanning that Pit incessantly until they'd finally broken free of it. With a small smile, she turned her attention to the readouts on the screen and began mapping the area. She was disappointed that they were removing the Cardy's body so quickly, because that wasn't best practice, in her opinion, but she supposed it was probably the best course of action considering the audience, and how little Starfleet liked to appear out of control. This was all quite out of control, really, but she wasn't about to fix it. "Olsen's facial recognition has identified him," she said conversationally to Syl, loudly enough to be overheard by any livestreaming teenagers with a knack for stringing sentences together. "Dr. Veho Murra. War criminal." She glanced over at Rimi, then away again, and went back to pretending she wasn't there, trying to take candid footage of their backsides. She probably shouldn't be encouraging it, or giving away leads, but Charlie doubted very much that there'd be cross-over in their follower demo. Up above them, the holodrone flew the grid of the scene. Once it was complete and Olsen had his autonomy returned, he began to follow the crewman who had operated the crane around. "Done!" She called out to Josh. "Where do you want it?" As far as she knew, nobody in the field had equipment, which meant there'd be technical work done somewhere prefabricated, grey and sterile - hooray.

[ LT Joshua Niles - N 3rd St, Colony, LZ-2, Kerelia ]Frankly, Niles was half-expecting to be told to go and pound sand when he asked Charlie to operate Olsen for him. And truth be told, he wouldn't have blamed her for it one bit. There was no doubt that having been abandoned on Caldonia had taken quite a toll on all those involved. Hell, the journalist was so quiet he might have thought she was a changeling rather than the genuine article if he had not known she had been through a traumatic event he didn't even dare try and imagine. But, she had acquiesced, and while Olsen was flying all over the scene and readings were coming into his tricorder, he overheard the young woman providing her narration, about how Starfleet was somehow acting as jackboots in the matter, and he turned around to face her. Of course, he could not ask her to stop what she was doing, but that hardly meant he could not address it. "Young miss, what you might not have heard is that I am asking Miss Fox for her assistance, not ordering it, and barring a judicially verifiable need none of what she will capture will be ordered kept secret. And..."He heard the identification that was made of the dead Cardassian. "This gets better and better..." he muttered. A Cardassian war criminal, found during a Bajoran festival? That made the notion that it was a coincidence extremely unlikely. And just as he was ordering his thoughts about the matter, Charlie spoke up again. Where did he want the information? "To my tricorder for now, if you please. And, thank you, Charlie."Those last four words, he made a point to speak warmly and set aside the business at hand. He wanted to be able to call her a friend, but after Caldonia, he was doubting if she'd ever consider anyone in a Starfleet uniform who hadn't been in that hellhole one ever again.
