[ Kova Sh'qaleq - Kerelia Colony] If there had been any concerns aboud coddling Shavan before, they had certainly been erased. His reaction and the ferocity of his lust easily matched Kova's own. Their desire was at a fever pitch, and there was only one way to quench such a hunger. [-fade to black; 3 hours later-] Kova's fingers gently trailed along the well-defined lines of Shavan's bare chest. In many ways it was like a work of art, and she felt as if she was actually searching for some sort of flaw. Of course there was none to be found. Kova's eyes rose in search of Shavan's as she perched her head in her hand as she propped her elbow on the floor. Her ivory locks falling against her skin, drenched by her own perspiration... mostly. "I think those lips of yours loosened just a little," Kova commented with a smirk. "I definitely heard some things I've never heard before."Kova looked around their current accommodations. The pair had found themselves falling through a partially constructed home. There were only three standing walls, and that was how they'd found it. Of course, there was some minor framing that needed to be replaced. Nothing too drastic, but hopefully not something either Kova or Shavan would have to explain. One could easily make an argument that the tension between them had been there practically from the beginning. Regardless, it had been worth the wait. [ Shavan Th’zhaar - Kerelia Colony] Shavan lay back with a satisfied smirk, flushed and disheveled. After all the anticipation and tension between them, he definitely hadn't been disappointed. His dark eyes met Kova’s as he watched her, taking in the contours of her body and her blue skin against his, the shape of her features… and the similar effect this had on her. He grinned, unashamed at her comment. Though he didn't think he'd actually said anything… except some of the more colorful phrases in the Orion language. “Alright, I give in. You met the challenge just fine,” he replied with a laugh. “And I seem to remember also hearing plenty from you.”Briefly following her gaze, he took in some of their surroundings for the first time... though he still wasn’t sure where their clothes had gotten to. [ Kova Sh'qaleq - Kerelia Colony] Admittedly, Kova didn't really understand the Orion language, but she got the general gist of what she'd heard pass through Shavan's lips. It certainly wasn't meant for casual conversation. He did, however, point out that she'd been just as vocal... if that's what one wanted to call it. She rolled her eyes playfully as she continued to look over at him. "Well, no one has ever accused me of being someone afraid to share what's on her mind," she answered. Kova's reputation was one of speaking her mind in its entirety whether her opinions were welcome or not. Yet, while she was content to simply bask in the moment for a while, she could sense a mystery of their own beginning to brew for the pair as they lay there. Her mind tried to retrace their steps to remember how they'd gotten there, but was easily distracted by images of the pair of them. Those flashes alone gave her a thin layer of goose bumps, just like a refreshing gale right off the mountains. A sigh left Kova's lips as she reluctantly moved to sit up. "I doubt there's another shift today, but humans can be prude and rather territorial," she commented. Her eyes seemed to look to their surroundings with only a bit more earnest. "Do you see my boots over there?" she asked, though any particular article of clothing could actually yield a clue to the location of the rest. Suffice it to say, organizing their clothes hadn't exactly been a priority at the time.

[NPCs - PO2 Roland L. Jenkins & Ito Eka - Grandview Conference Room]"If you want to know that, you might want to get that lawyer here faster."Eka was scared, but she wasn't stupid. All her people could tell when they were being squeezed, and would ultimately then be screwed. If Starfleet wanted to get, they had to start giving. She was willing to bet that Du Toollame wasn't one to sing. Jenkins looked at Niles, not sure if the officer wanted to keep pushing, or report back to their captain.
Tag Joshua Niles [ LT Joshua Niles - Grandview Conference Room, Colony Ops Building, LZ-2, Kerelia ]Well, if his suspect did not want to speak anymore until counsel arrived, that was indeed her right. He had tried to entice her to keep going, and whether she believed it or not, he was entirely willing to use the recording of their conversation as proof she had shown good faith towards the conduct of the investigation. And if she was willing to take the risk the Gul wouldn't start spilling his guts to deflect blame away from him, which may be difficult given the rock-solid proof that the financial records presented, that was also her right. Rising from his seat, Niles's hand fell on the recording controls of his portable terminal to end the data collection, and he then proceeded to lock it against unauthorized access. When he reached his full height, he tugged down his uniform jacket, and gestured to the Starfleet detail that had brought Ito Eka to him. "There is an empty office down the hall, take Miss Ito there and keep her there until it's time to transport her to the station, or she is willing to talk again. Her legal counsel will come to you." Now that the disposition of the prisoner was seen to, the Lieutenant turned to Jenkins. "I'm going to see the Captain. Keep digging, see if anything else comes up." If the Old Lady had left him Jenkins, then he meant to make use of him all right. In the meantime, his next report would be better done in person. As it turned out, his long legs were quick to catch up with the Captain, and as he approached her, he let his presence be known. "Captain, Miss Ito is in custody and I found somewhere to have her held until we're ready to take her to the brig. In the meantime, she's been very cooperative, and since she wants to cut a deal, I think she'll become even more so when she's had a chance to speak to legal counsel. But she knows that this is a case of 'early bird gets the worm', so I expect she'll be pretty quick telling us everything we want to know. And if I might ask, how did it go with the Gul?"

Judith Eastman(-Williams), PhD - Colony, LZ-2]As she walked outside, Judy noticed Josh had come up to her, despite her swift gait. "It's a marathon, not a sprint. There's no telling what results we'll get, from either of them," she advised. "Although I think the Gul will still be too busy screaming about his innocence to do anything. That's all for the better, since juries prefer it when you flip the minnow against the shark - rather than the reverse."However, for Josh, there was something else on the horizon. Something different from legal nuance Judy had picked up from her grandmother and both parents. "I don't think I need to tell you that today was... not your best work. I know you're more focused on the tactical side, but you're better than this. We'll have to sit down to debrief, maybe over ice cream tomorrow afternoon?"Ice cream seemed like a good way to take the edge off the conversation. Judy didn't want to intimidate the young Lieutenant too much, just to work through this issue.

[Lt. Paawin Riyo - Kerelia - Colony Infirmary]Riyo appreciated the gentle understanding of someone who knew. There were plenty enough people who sympathized, who tried to imagine what it had been like, and how they still felt... but only those who went through it could truly know. It felt strange for him to be on the receiving end of the instructions as Fellin aimed the regenerator, but he complied without hesitation. Another soft sigh left his lips in response to the reassurance. "It's not just this." Lea had been very understanding of his past, moreso than he felt he deserved. She knew there had been malicious intent behind his actions, that he'd truly believe he had done what was best for his patients. But this... There was nothing but maliciousness intent. As a doctor, he couldn't control who was around. He couldn't walk away if there was a possibility he might be needed. He couldn't guarantee he would never end up in the same situation again. "They always ask why we can't let go and move on. Nobody cares that ten years later, the Cardassians continue to act like they still own us." There was bitterness in his voice, blended with defeat. Riyo was tired, and he didn't know how to keep moving forward. [ Apazi Fellin | Infirmary ]"The Federation wants us all to be friends," Fellin said making a final sweep. The medical device did its work well and the bruising was dissipating to show the natural color of Riyo's skin. Fellin switched off the device and set it aside. "It is their way to be too tolerant, always looking for the diplomatic solution." He shrugged a little. "I don't think that's possible, not in the long run - at least not for most of us." There was such a thing as peace in the tower and strife in the streets. "I should go. Will you and Leanna be at the sunset later? I'm rolling hasperat." Jovireh Velal (Riyo)

[Lt. Paawin Riyo - Kerelia - Colony Infirmary]Wanting peace was one thing. Denying closure to an entire species for the benefit of their oppressors was something else entirely. If only people other than the Bajorans could see it that way. When Fellin set the instrument down, Riyo gave him an appreciative smile. "Maybe. All depends on how long it takes her to forgive me." Looking down at the hand he had been using the other tool on, he flexed his fingers in a test of mobility. Good enough for now... He could do another treatment later to repair the rest of the damage. Sliding off the table, he smiled again. "Thank you. For everything."

[ Vedek Dima Emmari | Exiting Ops ]"It's about time you lot started cleaning up after yourselves," Vedek Dima said to the Gul, with unrestrained gloating, as he began to depart. No, he'd not be lingering with the gul nor would he be following after the captain who'd redeemed herself enough for him. He hoped (and felt assured) they understood each other enough for the rest of the day to go off well. He left the room but paused in the hallway to wait for Charlie. She'd done him the flattery of taking nearly as much joy out of the gul's arrest, as uncouth as it might be, as he had. He noted for the first time the little drone who zipped around at her direction. "I'm either paranoid or self-absorbed, but I half expected to be questioned as a suspect as the day wore on," he said to her when Charlie came out. "Which would have been something to see. Seems the Prophets had other plans for my afternoon. What about you? How's that mess back there affected your deadline?" Charlie Fox

Kova’s tendency to share exactly what was on her mind was something he liked about her, and one way they were different… most of the time. He let out a reluctant sigh of his own as she started to get up. Of course, as much as he currently felt content to never move from this spot again, they did have to be getting back at some point. For another moment he simply watched her appreciatively. Then, straightening a few strands of long black hair that fallen into his face, he pushed himself up and joined her in attempting to track down their clothes. “I think so,” he handed her the boot. “Of course, we wouldn’t want to make them jealous,” he replied teasingly when Kova mentioned the strange, prudish ways of humans. Starting to get dressed himself from what pieces he was able to find, Shavan smirked a little at the flashes of memory of how they had come to be there, and the idea being found out. Kova Sh'qaleq

[ Kova Sh'qaleq - Kerelia Colony] Kova smiled in the small triumph of Shavan handing her one of her boots. Though, it seemed the scavenger hunt to find the rest of their clothes was to continue. As it did, Shavan commented teasingly about how they wouldn't want to make the humans jealous. She scoffed at the idea clearly amused, since they'd likely have quite a bit to be jealous about. "Honestly, I could care less," she admitted. "I just really like these boots."As Kova got dressed in the items she had collected thus far, she did steal a few more glances as Shavan got dressed. In some ways, it was as disappointing as watching someone cover up a work of art. Though, as the hunt continued, Kova realized that there were at least two pieces of clothing that were still missing. One was a sock, the other... something humans would call unmentionable. The Andorian couldn't fathom where they could be... or if it had been something that was tossed aside before they reached their so-called landing spot. Stuffing the one sock she'd found into a pocket, Kova began to slide her bare foot into her boot. "So, is this going to make things weird for you?" Kova asked.

[ Shavan Th’zhaar - Kerelia Colony] Now it was Shavan’s turn to scoff, and laugh a little at the question. “Why would it?” Unlike those hypothetical human construction workers, he saw nothing weird about taking whatever pleasure he wanted. It didn't affect his relationships with anyone else, and things between them would progress naturally whether Kova wanted to do this again or not. “It's only as weird as you want to make it,” he answered playfully. Meanwhile he finally found his shirt just outside the half constructed building and pulled it on. Kova Sh'qaleq

Her eye then spied her missing sock, lying on top of a stack of wall panels. She secured it into her pocket, noting that there was still one last piece of clothing missing. "Only if you are, of course."

[ Vedek Dima Emmari | Outside ]"Emmari, please," he said, inviting Charlie to call him by his given name. It wasn't a burden he'd impose on a Bajoran or an informality he'd allow a Starfleet officer - but Charlie was neither in addition to being a surprise on Kerelia and charming. The vedek shielded his eyes from the sun to have a better view of how the world has turned in his absence. The square seemed quite active and some volunteers had already re-arranged the pavilion from its purpose as a venue for the Unburdening to a series of small kiosks. "We will endure," he assured Charlie with a shrug. "Always have. Maybe one day we'll be able to do it unharassed. Here, look. Next is the Pathfinding. Now that all are sufficiently unburdened, Bajorans can ask questions of the Prophets about their futures. The ranjen act as mediums." He was grinning a little. "If you want an optimistic interpretation, you'll want to queue up for Ranjen Tillek. Or try the other one - things always end up a bit grim at old Ranjen Orr's alter... I find the latter a bit more fun." The Ha'mara afternoon would mature into evening as the cooks among those gathered would turn their hands towards preparing the food, with enthusiastic cooperation from the guest-vendors. Long tables would be set up around a roaring bonfire and after a droning prayer from the vedek (his final duty of the day), the feast would begin. There would be singing, dancing, eating, and drinking. Children sneaking wine under the table, and paramours sneaking off to the beach. Old stories, several proposals for marriage, and announcements of children to come.

A non-singular event, indeed. “I think I can agree to that.” It had certainly been worth repeating, and that's all that was needed. They both seemed to see it the same way, so there was little more to be said. He ran a hand through his hair and straightened his clothes in preparation for walking back towards the plaza. Captain's Log
While our investigation continues, we have two compelling suspects in custody. Ito Eka appears to be a minnow, although her exact actions have yet to be exhaustively ascertained. Meanwhile, Gul Du Toollame is the evident mastermind of the murder, and perhaps more.
Ms. Ito has made claims of a third co-conspirator, a mystery man, which we have been unable to substantiate.
In the meantime, I am pleased that the Ha'mara celebrations were able to conclude with some dignity. I have taken it upon myself to reach out to the celebrants, apologize, and compensate them duly. Some will forgive, others will not.
Internally, I must take care of matters with both Lieutenant Paawin and Lieutenant Niles. Once that is done, I intend to take a vacation.
[NPC - Kil Ted - Jungle]
Kil Ted stood at the rendezvous point, deep in the jungle, where the little Bajoran was meant to meet him. She thought she'd get a lift offworld, to Nyberrite territory, when in fact she was to be killed (by Kil, of course), cut up, and fed to the PooDoos.
But she didn't show. Odds are, she wouldn't show.
