[NPC - Capt. (Ret.) Klopar, daughter of Krak - The Drunken Tritter]And just like that, Klopar was surrounded, and probably screwed. If the disruptor didn't take her out, the blade surely would, and if somehow, somehow, she evaded both, Starfleet was going to give her hell. This crew was far too straight-laced, sometimes honorable, usually orderly. There was only one move left, and she hated to use it, given how nasty, how dishonorable, it was. "I know where the treasure is, you smooth foreheads," she announced. Hoping the bluff worked - at least as a distraction, she made her way towards the door, hoping that the fleet would let her out, and that no one would pull her back.

[Ensign Rin Zakir The Drunken Tritter - Kerelia]
Zak flashed the lieutenant a small smile as she spoke, hoping that he had least managed to cheer her up a little bit. The voice that sounded from behind them would probably do a little better to raise her spirits, as it seemed someone else would be joining them after all.
He recognised the trill from his previous mission with the Mac, and nodded in recognition. That had been a pretty close call with the tritters (he knew what they were now),
"Good to see you again. Still waiting for that drink!", he greeted him with a friendly reminder. He couldn't quite recall the exact reason for that, but hey, free drink!
Speaking of drink, it seemed as though it was flowing well in here, judging by the amount of angry people brandishing weapons. He raised a brow as Hudson commented on needing red shirts. Did she mean as in command or as in 'redshirts'? He's heard the stories, even though they had changed shirt colours a long time ago.
"Need me to put the call in?", he asked in a low voice, hand on his phaser, just in case. No use jumping the gun and calling in people that could end up causing the situation they were trying to avoid.
It seemed as though Hudson was somewhat familiar with the woman brandishing a disrupter, a disrupter that he doubted had such a thing as a stun setting (unlike his own weapon). He had also noticed the dagger being wielded by another woman, as well as the klingon who seemed to be the source of their ire. Already, he was planning his next move if things started to get even more out of hand.
The lieutenant made a bold gamble, attempting to appeal to the eagers of the gathered crowd in order to dissuade them from more violence. This could just as easily go south, and he watched the unfolding scene very carefully. Especially after the klingon woman had more to say, something that could, no, would, get the crowd going again.
"Then I suggest you keep that information to yourself and move along, ma'am.", he spoke somewhat forcefully. He didn't know who or what had started the current situation, but the last thing they needed was someone causing a full scale riot! Of course, he was aware that he could come out of this with a bruise or three, but he needed to do his job.

[Capt. Judith Eastman(-Williams), PhD - Science Tent]As much as Judy enjoyed a good math puzzle, and the geometry riddle was proving to be a delightful one indeed, she had a higher responsibility as Captain to tend to her proverbial flock. Looking up from her PADD, she saw Jurgha, the Klingon, seemingly apart from the others. She chose to approach the woman. "How's it coming along?" she asked, trying to sound approachable.

Enola had made a few notes on the puzzle at her terminal, going over various possibilities as she kept coming to the same conclusion. Either she was stupid (unlikely, but not impossible) or the puzzle was simple. "Petty Officer," she finally said, leaning more to the side so she could get a look at Bremmer's riddle. "What solution do you have in mind?", she asked. Enola didn't want to take away the fun of the puzzle right away, and maybe the woman had found another way to solve it that was also likely to be logical.
Tag Eliska Bremmer Well, one thing to be said about Vulcans, they never missed an opportunity to show their intellect to benighted Humans. Though, granted, Eliska knew she was pretty well outclassed when it came to that sort of things. Have her fight a running, room-to-room battle in corridors, have her in the bush for a week or more or even stand in front of a locked door, she was your girl. But in a case like this? She was like a fish out of water. "Ma'am, the correct answer can only really be one. But the Captain said that we also should be looking for wrong answers. Right off the top of my head, I think the obvious wrong answer is 'four'. What do you think?"]

[ Ilario Matteus Alfonse Vierdeau - Drunken Tritter, LZ-2, Kerelia ]{Quoted Posts} [Staz Volkova - Kerelia - The Drunken Tritter]The woman beside her maintained a casual demeanor, but from the corner of her eye Staz saw her hand rest over her disruptor. She had no idea what the argument was about, but clearly it was about to get violent. The double shot of tequila was set in front of her, along with a slice of lemon with something that looked like sugar poured over it. Well... that hadn't been exactly what she had in mind... but it would do. Pinching the slice, she let the juice and sugar drip into the glass before she tossed the entire shot back in one swallow. Slamming the glass back onto the counter, she bit the fruit off the rind, the spurt of sourness counteracting the taste of the alcohol. And then the violence happened. Shouting, insults, things - and people - being thrown... Dropping the lemon rind, Staz leapt off the barstool, swiftly pulling her dagger from its sheath on her belt. "'Ey!" she shouted at the Klingon woman that seemed to be the instigator of it all. "What do you care who she insults? You want to fight, there's plenty of Fleet outside to pick on." The Federation Standard that echoed back at her from the universal translators sounded foreign to her own ears, but at least she knew her point would get across. All she wanted was a drink, and the Klingon couldn't even be bothered to pick a fight with someone sitting farther away from the bar.
Tag Charlie Fox Judith Eastman Eliska Bremmer [Costa - The Drunken Tritter]Costa was pulled back... by her hair. What a bitch move. The expression on her face was wild as the klingon said something that cemented her title of snitch. The klingon's superior strength meant that Costa was momentarily stuck, and the push back toward Gin Fizz had enough force behind it to send her scrambling backward toward him. But while she was on a course to knock straight into the protesting pretender, she was at the same time pulling her disruptor from its secure belt. There was no stun setting. "You're the rodent," Costa told her as she extended her arm and took aim, re-balancing herself on steady feet once more. "You got five seconds to get out of here, or I'll shoot you and loot your body for useful shit."It looked like she was giving the klingon a chance to leave, but in truth Costa did not want to shoot her in front of these witnesses, and certainly not while in a colony with Fleeters scurrying everywhere, adjacent to a street where she'd set up a semi-legitimate business. No, she'd rather get her in the jungle, where nobody would see and the catmons would eat the evidence. "Five."She cocked her head, ponytail swinging undone from the rough treatment and re-positioned her arm very slightly so that the klingon's chest was smack-bang in the middle of her crosshairs. "Four."

Tag Eliska Bremmer [ PO3 Eliska Bremmer - Square, LZ-2 Colony ]Logical answer. Well, that was an endorsement all right and with those conclusions cemented, Bremmer tapped her console a few more times to send the correct, and incorrect, answers forward to those who would be crunching them and making the actual plans of action. That was a good start all right, but then the Ensign pointed her at her own riddle. "Yes Ma'am, I'd say a river is the only possible answer and I really can't see anyone who's got a working brain to see it otherwise."However, at the mention of it being a clue with regards to terrain, the Nova Kosicean went back to her own riddle and brought up the wording. "Just minute, if your riddle is about a terrain feature, let's look at this one more closely. 'I have one mate' could refer to two similar prominent terrain features, and the part about having five children, four daughters and one son, could indicate trailing, lesser features of the same sort?"

[Costa - The Drunken Tritter]"Is that right?" Costa asked Chloe Hudson when the girl deigned to tell her what she wouldn't be doing. Typical Fleet arrogance, but Costa knew all about it, she'd been one of them. Despite the situation she felt amused at the very transparent attempt by the young Intel officer to appeal to their egos in order to try to control the situation. Fleet always did think they were the smartest people in any given room. They were almost always wrong, and their egos were invariably bigger. And the Klingon just kept telling tales. "This one started it," she explained, her chin jutting upward as she nodded toward the coward. "I was just gonya finish it, sasa ké[fn]"Know what I mean?"[/fn]?" She kept the gun aimed until it was clear that Klopar was trying to make a break for it. So, when Gin Fizz started making demands of his own, she decided to turn her weapon on him for a brief moment. "Hush."Her other bar fly, the one who'd ordered the shot of a proper drink, had a knife in her hand. Costa had been vaguely aware of the woman warning the Klingon against taking action, and had obviously been willing to follow that warning up with some real consequences. Costa nodded in her direction as she returned the disrupter to its worn holster. "Taki[fn]"Thanks."[/fn]," she muttered.

The Trill firmly believed that all away missions ended with a reason to drink. Either to celebrate success, or drown the trauma. Hopefully today would be the former. They moved inside the bar, and Cerjess instantly got the feeling their reason to drink would end up being the latter. Already the hunters were at each others' throats. While Hudson and Rin addressed them, Cerjess hung back, but kept his hand on his phaser. His eyes darted around, making sure none of the other patrons decided to take advantage of their distraction.

[Staz Volkova - Kerelia - The Drunken Tritter]Staz hung back as the three kept arguing with each other, and the other woman pulled out her disruptor. A grin pulled at her lips. Finally someone that knew how to make things happen. Before anything could happen, though, Starfleet came bursting in. Her grin twisted into a sneer. Of course they couldn't let anyone handle things their own way. The Klingon realized she was outnumbered, and said she knew where a treasure was. Staz scoffed incredulously. As if any of them were stupid enough to fall for such a lie. But the Fleeters spoke... And the Ochiran began to put the pieces together. Was this colony so packed because everyone was hunting for a treasure? Her sneer then shifted into a devious smile. Treasure would definitely help her get settled a lot easier... The one they called Costa put her disruptor away, and Staz followed by sheathing her dagger. "She tried to walk away without shooting anyone," she told the Fleeter that had spoken first. Costa said something to her, and while she didn't understand the word her tone of voice was clear. Staz simply nodded in acknowledgment and took her seat back at the bar, signaling for another shot. The last one hadn't even kicked in before the adrenaline washed it away. She should make the Klingon pay for that one...

[LTJG Chloe Hudson - The Drunken Tritter]"Not yet, but be ready to," she whispered to Rin as he asked about calling for reinforcements. They didn't want to escalate the situation if it could be avoided. Their job for now was to keep the peace, and keep an eye out. They weren't meant to be rounding up everyone they could find a reason to detain.
The Klingon claimed to know where the treasure was but Chloe doubted that it was true. She wouldn't be announcing it to the world in front of such an audience if she did. Rin dealt with outburst from the Klingon well however.
Then there was the bearded man, who's wealth and privilege Chloe could smell a mile away, demanding she arrest people. "You don't really want me to do that, sir," she stated calmly. "If I were to arrest anyone here I would need to take you with me to provide statements and evidence. Make sure we fully investigate the matter before deciding who to charge. Unfortunately, we're very busy at the moment so it would probably take some time to process everything and get around to you. In the meantime your treasure hunting colleagues would get quite the head start."Surprisingly, Costa decided not to cause too much more trouble and holstered her disruptor before Chloe needed to make any threats about seizing what was likely an illegal weapon. "She may have started it, but if she tries anything more I will throw her in a cell," she looked between the Klingon and Costa. "You'd all best move along now," she ordered hoping they would disperse before things got any worse.

[NPC - Capt. (Ret.) Klopar, daughter of Krak - The Drunken Tritter]
Klopar walked out swiftly, quite pleased to have made her getaway, and hopefully stalled the competition with Starfleet, even if it was at some cost to her honor.
Exit Klopar
[NPC - Sir Dugris "Doug" Zaman, MBE, PhD, JD, MBA, PE, RA - The Drunken Tritter, LZ-2 Colony]
A rather amused Sir Doug watched all of this play out. "You'd get a lot farther if you worked together," he said, with the wisdom of the centuries.
Somewhere on the darknets, a message came out, for all to see.
Treasure is 129,600 paces (about 220 km) away from river K4. Fierce animals present.
River K4 was a river running east-to-west, about 5000 km north of LZ-2.

[Ensign Enola - Science Tent]
"Sounds like an idea," Enola replied without a hint of emotion, and shortly thereafter looked intently once at the other people in the tent, meaning something like they should combine all the solutions to the puzzles. But it was appealing that there didn't seem to be any real stalling on any of the riddles. When a message appeared, Enola raised an eyebrow critically and read through it silently before glancing at Bremmer So far, it looked like they weren't that wrong with their guess.
