[Felicity Ellis - Ready Room, USS Mac]En route to VorgonA holographic display above the desk was showing their progress toward the Vorgon system. Felicity watched the little dot representing the Mac as it winged its way to the rendezvous point. Gradually, her eyes went out of focus as she stared, mind wandering and lost in something else entirely. After a few moments she blinked, took a deep breath and then continued her log. "I'm considering who to leave in command for the duration of my time off-ship. While a small number of officers and myself will disembark the Mac and provide mediation for the Beta Merchants Guild, a senior officer will stay aboard and use the time to familiarise themselves with the more mundane aspects of running a ship. Perhaps Lieutenant Th'zhaar is ready."She found herself smiling as she wondered if this would be a part of command that the scientist would enjoy, or if it would be an element that would dissuade him from pursuing the path being laid out before him. She'd hated it. "Perhaps we should schedule a drill of some kind... Oh, I know! We'll declare it an "Open Door" day, and Mr. Th'zhaar can invite and then deal with all of the crew's complaints..."It took a second for her to forget her delightfully devilish plans, and notice that the ship was shaking. Frowning, she stood and then began to walk toward the door that separated the Ready Room from the Bridge. She stepped into the Command Centre of their Sovereign-class home away from home, and looked around at the officers on shift. "Report." Another tremor, this one stronger than the last, almost threw her off her feet.

[ Mila - Bridge, USS Mac] What had started as your typically normal day on board the ship, was quickly turning into something unexplained as the Mac dropped out of warp, before the tremors started. For one Ensign Mila, she should really be used to the strange and bizarre, serving all the way out here. However right at this moment, she was doing all she could to remain upright. It was also fortunate that she didn't have a weak stomach as the last thing she wanted was to throw up right now. Thankful for the arrival of Commander Ellis as the ship suffered another bout of turbulence. Mila focused on answering the Acting CO, even if she had to hold onto her console. " We've dropped out of warp Commander, as yet we don't know the reason why and damage reports are starting to filter in" she replied, hoping her teeth weren't chattering as she spoke. Her stomach lurched as the ship shook, making her feel as though she was on an out of control rollercoaster .

[ PO3 Eliska Bremmer - Observation Lounge, USS Mac ]
After being nigh on eaten by tritters, one Petty Officer Bremmer was glad to see there had been a need for someone to fill in on the Mac. She still loved Kerelia, and the idea of being out in the woods, but for now she did need a change of scenery. And if it meant a mission involving dealing with some trade negotiations, then so be it. And as an added bonus, Syl would be out there too... but of course she was Lieutenant O'Connell in all but the most unofficial of settings, especially since this was the pilot's turf more than the Security PO's.
And at this exact moment, her task had been to prepare the Observation Lounge for any briefings that might occur before the negotiations would begin, and she had been strongly encouraged to brush up on her inexistant knowledge with regards to the Guild of Merchants, as she was slated to accompany the ship's delegation and it would not do to have her be unable to identify key players, or commit some faux pas that would hurt the Federation's interest through simple ignorance.
She had just been reading up on the expected protocol and etiquette (and quite a tedious read that was!) when the ship lurched violently, and it was only the years of martial arts training back home that led her to hitting the deck without breaking anything, though that particular position did not save her from being sent rolling across the room with the second lurch.
"Co to je, kurva?![fn]Roughly: WTF, in Czech[/fn]" she exclaimed before looking out the expansive windows and realize they were no longer at warp. Well, that certainly wasn't right...

[Myker Vulbrix - Bridge - USS Mac]
Myker was at the communication station on the bridge, he was monitoring the system and any communication that came through either for the Mac or those on board. It had been uneventful. Uneventful this far out was always a good thing, anything beyond that often ended in chaos, injury and loss of life
The sudden jarring of the ship that had Myk lock his elbows so he didn't face plant the console alerted the Betazoid to the fact that things were about to get more eventful. The Mac dropping out of warp so suddenly was not normal and it certainly hadn't been an order from the commander. Myk quickly scanned his eyes over the comms again before the Mac quaked again. Something was definitely not right, and it didn't take a genius to know that.
Myker felt the ship shake more, likely tossing some of the crew like a salad. Myker managed to keep himself from headbutting the communications desk, gripping the edges a little more tightly as Mac shook.

[ Lt. JG Rin Zakir - Bridge - USS Mac] The buzz from his recent promotion had mostly died down as Zak settled back into his duties aboard the ship. If he never saw a tritter again in his life, it would still be too soon, so he was quite glad to be heading away from Kerelia, even though that of course didn't guarantee that he wouldn't bump into the Pah Wraiths personal pets any time anywhere else. For one, his first encounter hadn't even been on Kerelia! For now though, he found himself assigned to the bridge, which would hopefully be a good opportunity for the higher ups to see what he was capable of hopefully in a good way, though the chance seemed to come much sooner than he would have liked. He had an inkling that something wasn't quite right, due to the shaking that he had felt. Exchanign glances with an officer at a nearby console, he began to take a look when Ellis entered, requesting a reprot. Then a sudden, violent shudder rocked the ship, causing him to almost add to his collection of nose creases as he stumbled forward. Thankfully, he managed to not hit his face on the tactical console, steadying himself as he immediately got to work in finding out just what the heck had happened. For one they were no longer at warp, which in itself was concerning. Not as concerning as what he was seeing on his screen though. "We're taking damage, shields down to 83%, trying to compensate", he called out urgently, relieving the white knuckle grip on the console as he got to work on just that. "Hull integrity is holding, but I'm picking up dangerous levels of electromagnetic radiation!" Oh prophets, now what?

[Lt. JG Syl O'Connell - USS Mac - Bridge]The console in front of the pilot screeched as the ship suddenly dropped out of warp - without her command. Needless to say, that wasn't supposed to happen. Deft fingers flew across the panel, simultaneously trying to steady the jostling ship and run scans to find out what the hell happened. The XO immediately returned to the Bridge, and other stations began reporting in. It took her a moment to have anything to contribute. "We've hit severe spatial turbulence! Level 9 gravimetric distortions!" This shouldn't be happening. There had been nothing in the star charts to suggest anything other than a smooth path! "Attempting to find a course out of the disturbance!" It was difficult to remain upright in her seat, but Syl was just glad she wasn't one of the officers standing. "Come on baby, work with me..." she muttered quietly, this time directing her words to the ship that was fighting against her attempts to stabilize it.

[Kova Sh'qaleq - Scapegoat Lounge, Deck 10, USS Mac ]
Kova's eye followed the dish as the server set it down in front of her. Andorian Redbat and tuber root. She had watched him closely from the time it had been replicated to its journey to her table. There hadn't been any sign of malfeasance, but that didn't stop her from poking at the meal with a fork before attempting to consume it. After some scrutiny, she seemed content that it was safe to eat.
Normally, Kova would have booked passage to Vorgon on a civilian transport. There was a business opportunity that had come her way, and her presence on Vorgon had been requested. She had made her travel plans known, and someone had actually suggested that she ferry along with the Mac. Kova had been trying to distance herself from Starfleet for some time, but for one reason or another, hadn't been able to do so completely. There was a part of her that believed that it was possible that she simply wasn't trying hard enough. The forkful of food was almost at her mouth when she felt the first shutter. She lowered her hand, looking around. It seemed that she hadn't been the only one to feel that.
Sub-spatial turbulence? It was possible, but navigators typically found ways around it. She had been in the midst of trying to recall whether or not Syl was on duty when the Mac shook much more violently this time. Her plateful of redbat and tuber roots spilled onto the floor, even as she clutched both sides of her table to ensure that she didn't follow.
This seemed to be enough to get a number of people's attention... including those that had fallen. A few people were already beginning to leave the lounge, possibly anticipating an order to general quarters. One thing was certain... something was certainly wrong, because the Mac was no longer at warp. Kova's eyes narrowed as she carefully stood from the table. Every time she had ventured out on this ship, something had gone wrong. Were these people cursed? "Now what?" she asked aloud to no one in particular.

[Lt. Shavan Th’zhaar - Bridge, USS Mac] What had seemed like an drearily uneventful shift on the Bridge was interrupted in an instant along with the ship’s course. Thrown forward with the inertia as the floor lurched under his feet, Shavan gripped the edges of the science console in front of him just in time to avoid falling. A glance up at the viewscreen provided the unmistakable confirmation that they had just forcibly dropped out of warp. There was sudden activity as Commander Ellis came out of the ready room and all stations began reporting in. He listened with sharp attention to everything that was said and the calls beginning to come in. Meanwhile, his fingers flew over the console, already scanning the space around them for any kind of anomaly or explanation for the disturbance. “I’m detecting unusually high level of tachyon particles.” The ship lurched again, stronger than before, and Shavan gripped the console while reporting the results as they appeared. Suddenly, the readings were nearly off the charts. “And a surge of subspace energy- ten million terajoules and growing!”tag Felicity Ellis , everyone on the bridge

[ SCPO Kaya Som | Scapegoat Lounge, Deck 10, USS Mac ]"Now what?""We fell out of warp," replied the Chief Engineer who was hurrying past even as she tried to put herself back into uniform. She'd meant to only duck her head into the lounge for a moment or two, but time had gotten away from her a bit. She worked all the time now anyway, disappearing for a bit here and there seemed hardly unfair. "When it does the lurch and then the stutter," Kaya began to explain to the stoic Kova how she knew the trouble without checking any panels. She had to keep raising her voice as she left. "That's how you know we fell out of warp." Kova, oh Kova, who could not be kept away. There was a Trill novel about this, Kaya was sure, about a haunted ship and a doomed sailor who would be other's downfall, but, like, the ship was the father? - she'd have to look it up. Her commbadge was beginning to chirp, dutiful inquiries about her absence from Engineering. "I'm coming!" she answered back. Why the ship was still shaking, she didn't know. Kaya let off to Engineering five decks below at a run. [ A few minutes later, Deck 15, Engineering ]Chief Som arrived in Engineering regretting her last five years half-arsing physical. The ship was still shaking so much that it felt like the rivots were going to come loose right from the wall. "Report!" she demanded as she made her way over to her station. "Gravimetric distortions pulled us out of warp, Chief. Core is online, but we can't engage warp engines. Impulse shows all green.""Right, well, bridge will love that. Start diverting resources to protect the power grid. I swear, if we lose power again, I'll mutiny and drive us into a mountain." Kova Sh'qaleq , @general

[ Ensign Ic Arbrell —Bridge, USS Mac] He felt the ship’s disturbance more prominently in the reactions of its occupants than any kinetic consequence. (The low pitched tone of sudden inconvenience, mulberry concern at his wrists, a collective adrenal start in an alien shade he could only taste on one side of his tongue.) His body, however, would probably disagree with this assessment tomorrow. Doubled over the console he’d been thrown against by the shock, the Betazoid reeled with their sensations as loud as his own, composure just out of reach—as usual, but still. The sensation of air time hung in his veins, weightless, relentless, a crawl toward the edge of sick thrill. A trembling hand reached toward his screen to change views when the rest of the bridge crew began reporting their observations. His fingers stopped (still shaking) mere centimeters from the display. Electromagnetic radiation. Gravimetric distortions. Wild tachyons! Subspace—! “Out of perfectly normal space,” Ic said easily, finishing Shavan’s sentence without bothering to verify it. Why pull out an abacus to prove the sum of 2+2? (It did not always equal four. They were not always horses.) He switched to a view of the tachyon storm with the eagerness of a man reunited with a long lost first love, and stared at the flurry of split images just the same. If his guts had fallen victim to the crew’s concerns about the ship, his mind had wrested them triumphantly back with the romance of violated causality outside it. This was why he was here. [Ensign Enola - Intelligence Suite - USS Mac]
Even though the last event on Kerelia was interesting, scary and also fascinating, Enola felt much more comfortable on the Mac. Apart from the fact that there were no biting Tritters, the Sovereign-class ship smelled much better than the damn mud pit they fell into. Also, it was clean and bright, even if the lighting came from the computer, and not from a real sun.
And now the Part-Vulcan was at the place where the small suite for the Intelligence wanted to be set up on the Mac. And since neither Chloe Hudson, nor Matthew Harmon were on board at the moment, it was probably Enola's job to set up the suite nicely and get settled there first. On the one hand, she was busy, on the other hand, it would probably remain simple and sad. She didn’t have any experience or talent when it came to handing out decorations, so she wouldn’t even try
Enola was carrying a stack of PADDS from the shelf to the desk when the ship trembled beneath her feet. Her free hand searched reflexively for some object to hold on to, but found none. Thus, she was unable to keep from falling, and the woman made an unpleasant acquaintance with the floor of the suite. On the floor, despite her Vulcan ancestry, she rolled her eyes and turned onto her back before just lying there. Actually, it was quite comfortable like that, wasn't it? After a few minutes, she grabbed the leg of the desk chair and pulled herself up before collecting the PADDS. She had spread them out on the floor when she fell.
After the PADDS were brought to the desk, the intelligence officer dropped briefly onto the desk chair and gasped for air. There was nothing more than a small scrape on her hand, even if she had banged her knee somewhere. In any case, there was nothing she needed to go to the infirmary for. Speaking of going to the infirmary, should she go to the bridge? Maybe that would be quite logical…

[Felicity Ellis - Bridge, USS Mac]They'd been ripped from warp. There weren't many things known to do that, in fact it was the first time Felicity had experienced it while in command. Her hand gripped the edge of the archway from the Ready Room, knuckles whitening with the effort of keeping herself upright as the invisible assault on the Mac continued. As soon as Rin reported that their shields were taking damage, she slipped into action mode. "Red alert."Pulled out of warp. Shields falling. Electromagnetic radiation...A voice from the helm added another symptom of this sudden sickness. Gravimetric distortions. They were without warp. Another heavy jolt knocked her off her feet completely. As quickly as she could, she crawled toward the closest console and hung on for dear life. =/\= "Engineering, Bridge! Give everything you have to Impulse." =/\= One hand over the other, she pulled herself up. The palms of her hands slapped on the panel of the vacant Ops II and then she got to work. "Helm, as soon as you have a viable course, punch it. If you can't, find me a solution that might let us ride out whatever this is. Comms, get the message out, broad spectrum, wide-band, warning everyone in the area to stay away." While not an especially busy area of space, this was a known shipping lane for merchants and transports coming in and out of the Vorgon system. She was shouting over the din of the alert klaxons and the ship as it fought against wave after wave of turbulence, but she still heard the scientists' reports. There they were, those magic words: tachyon particles. Every Commanding Officer's least favourite command simulation scenario. Except this wasn't a simulation. This was real, it was huge, and it was going to wreck them. "Approaching thirty million tera-joules!" She confirmed Th'zhaar's observation as she scanned the incoming data. The ship rocked again, and again, until being still was no longer a reality on the USS Mac. What was once normal space, was now... "Oh my god..." With a series of taps on her console, and a look that betrayed her complete shock, she shared the image on the viewscreen of what was being birthed into violent existence. From every viewport, and in spectacular technicolour in the Scapegoat Lounge, the event could be seen. It dwarfed them in every sense.

[ Ensign Mila - Bridge, USS Mac] When Mila had initially likened the turbulence to a rollercoaster, there was no thrill or surge of adrenaline. Instead she was left with nothing but fear and the urge to survive. Sure she had experienced battle and the downright strange, had faced death and the fight to love. But compared to all of that, this was just awful, especially as they were thrown around like dust angels in the wind as other's on the Bridge gave their updates. Fighting the urge to throw up, Mila focused on what was being said, the situation becoming dire by every second, before the red alert began to sound. The klaxon reverberating in her skull as it jostled alongside everything else. Come on Mila focus" she told herself as the ship continued to rock. Then out of nowhere came something both terrifying and beautiful at the same time. All thought was momentarily halted as the Argellian stared at the viewscreen. Almost transfixed by what she was seeing until her brain engaged as reality reminded her of what was going on. " Could it be some kind of anomaly?" she suggested, remembering the last one that she had encountered. Although hoped this one didn't contain soul eating shadows.

[Ensign Enola - Intelligence Suite - USS Mac]
When the ship didn't stop shaking and Enola almost kissed the ground for the second time, she raised her eyebrow. Her question had not yet been clarified, namely what was actually going on here now. As far as she could remember, it hadn't necessarily been planned that the crew would be shaken up (although a little shaking might do some crew members some good).
As soon as the red alert was turned on, it finally became too much for Enola. Since she probably wouldn't make it to the bridge to ask what had happened, she had to ask the computer. "Computer, what happened?". Maybe the computer had information she didn't, so she waited patiently for an answer. =/\= Turbulences have occurred =/\=, was the simple reply, and Enola raised her eyebrow a little. "Computer, I can feel it" she hissed, but the computer's ice-cold and emotionless voice helped her return to her own logic and hopefully keep it.
Since the computer had given no response to her last comment, Enola asked again. This time rational and logical, free of Romulan sarcasm for the obvious. "Computer, reason for turbulences?". Of course, she didn't expect the computer to give her an accurate answer, but she could try, couldn't she? It took less than three seconds before the computer answered her: =/\= Mac has encountered a subspace phenomenon =/\=. When Enola heard this answer, she grabbed the root of her nose with her fingertips. Good, now she still had more questions than answers.
And suddenly there was light at the one window. Enola forgot everything around her at that moment, and even the trembling of the ship didn't matter to her. She stood up and walked to the window, step by step. Her hands kept looking for something to hold on to, but somehow she managed not to fall down again. But even if she had fallen, watching the spectacle would have been worth it. The Part-Vulcan frowned and was caught in the view for a moment, like a fly in a spider's web. The colors, the energy, and the interaction of the two surpassed everything else at that moment, and Enola wasn't sure if she might have preferred to fall over. She opened her mouth, and the only words that escaped were, "Fucking fascinating!“. No tags

[ PO3 Eliska Bremmer - Observation Lounge, USS Mac ]
Another string of profanity escaped Petty Officer Bremmer's mouth when she looked out the massive windows to see the phenomenon that was ahead of the ship. Well, truth be told it was so damned immense that she couldn't really tell where it was centered as the sight of it practically filled the endless horizon out of the forwardmost windows if the Lounge.
And then, the Red Alert klaxon. Just bloody lovely.
Well, she had places to be and... she was already there. As a Crewman, her Red Alert station had been with the manning pool, to provide warm bodies for emergency damage control, search and rescue and counter-boarding details as required. With her promotion, her station had been moved to provide security on the Bridge if required, and being on duty at the time she was already armed. Perfect. Or at least close to it.
Walking with a purpose, she departed the Observation Lounge, her study of the Merchant Guild a distant second concern to the current situation and moved to take position near the turbolift doors on the Bridge proper... but her attention was quickly stolen by the display on the viewscreen. The computer-enhanced imagery there was truly awe-inspiring, but had she not seen the phenomenon with her own Mark 1 eyeballs just moments before she might have been less than impressed... and while she managed to keep a brave face, she was genuinely terrified.
Softs to the Bridge crew
