Mission and Event Extended
As you know, we're going to continue the ongoing mission and event into the first two weeks of October, in order to play out those storylines fully. This is a bit of an experiment, so bear with us.

Promotion
We have one promotion this month: Jovireh Velal will be promoted to Chief of Sec/Tac with the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer. This will take effect at the conclusion of the mission & event.
Third Alts
As you know, we rolled out third alts a few months ago as a trial. That trial appears to have succeeded, and so we are making third alts a permanent feature on Frontier. They will be approved on a case-by-case basis.
In addition to this, we have a number of major announcements concerning the site:
Migration
We plan to migrate from ProBoards to Jcink Premium by the end of this year. Moving to Jcink will give us the tools to improve the site and its structure, give us a more reliable hosting service than PB, and it will be cheaper for us than paying for ad-free ProBoards. We'll work out the logistics of that move and convey them to you, but the transition will be as seamless as possible.
Admin In
We are also onboarding a new admin. Kaya Som has been a valued member of our community, producing ever-engaging characters, posts, and storylines - who can forget Avi Moz?
She has also contributed to the site in ways seen and unseen, including the site timeline and the Nebula theme. She is a friendly and welcoming presence in our OOC community as well.
As an admin, she will focus primarily on tech support. We are very lucky to have her on our site, and luckier still to have her talents in this role.
Admin Out
Last but not least, I will be retiring as admin by the end of this year. For the past year and a half, it has been an honor and a pleasure to serve as an admin here. Every day, it seems as though our community grows better and happier, and it is a labor of love to run it. There is no better site that I can think of to be a member or an admin on.
However, I have grown tired, and over the last few months, I’ve come to feel that I’m no longer giving Frontier the best that I have to give - which is to say, what it deserves. After thinking long and hard, I have made the decision to step down after a long and happy tenure.
If you will indulge my ego, I'll quote from a much more important person who is now retiring from a position of power - German Chancellor Angela Merkel - whose words happen to reflect my own sentiments.
"My previous tasks will now be done by another; I think I will like that very much. Maybe I will try to read something, then my eyes will start to close because I'm tired, then I'll take a little nap."
And after that nap, I'll post. As a player, I intend to stay on Frontier - the best site of its kind - for a long time to come.
Thank you, Frontier. Thank you for all that has been, and for all that will be.
