[Lt. Paawin Riyo - Kerelia - Peig's]Riyo chuckled at her teasing words before they made their way over to the table. With a nod toward Jov and Yvonna, he set the plates of food down on the table and pulled out a chair for Lea before sitting himself. Taking an experimental sip of his Red Shirt, his eyebrows lifted and he gave a nod of appreciation. "That's actually pretty good. And definitely dangerous." The flavors blended well, making it easy to forget the alcohol content. Thankfully there was a lot of food on his plate. Hearing a voice off to their side, he glanced over and smiled when he saw Max and Judy. "Certainly," he replied, gesturing to the empty chairs and shuffling the plates a little to make room for their drinks on the table. After all, they had come here to socialize.

[SCPO Jovireh Velal - Kerelia - Peig's]As the other woman offered her advice, Jov realized that she should probably go into a little more detail about the situation. It was more complicated, and yet more simple at the same time. Taking another sip of her whiskey as she watched Conor walk away, she heard the distracted tone in Yvonna's voice after she had identified him, and suddenly realized that the feelings of attraction she'd felt when he walked over to them hadn't just been her own. Yes, she definitely needed to clarify a few things. "I'm not the exclusive type," she explained as she set her glass down, still keeping her voice low so as to not be overheard. Especially since there were a few other people she knew now sitting at the nearby table. "Neither is Shavan, so it works well for us. However... Conor is the exclusive type. So while there's mutual feelings and attraction, we haven't - and won't - open that door." Another, deeper sip of liquor to burn away the ache that came with finally vocalizing what she had known for months. She gave the other woman a sly grin. "I can call him back over and introduce you, if you'd like." Perhaps it would be good for their friendship if Conor started seeing someone else. It would at least make it easier for her to control her impulses around him. While she wasn't entirely sure if Yvonna was his type... Jov didn't see why she wouldn't be. She was beautiful, intelligent, humorous... And Conor deserved a good woman.

[NPC - Lieutenant (j.g.) Yvonna Teller-Wright - Peig's, Kerelia] Yvonna listened as Jovireh spoke. She admitted freely that she wasn't the exclusive type. Yvonna could certainly understand. Not everyone yielded to the social construct of what a typical love life was supposed to look like. There were many humans that seemed to impose their ideas on other cultures without realizing it. Of course, Jovireh was part Betazoid if she recalled correctly, and they had a very liberal construct of what intimacy looked like. It was a thought that seemed to halt in its tracks as Jovireh mentioned a name that instantly caught her attention. Shavan? He wasn't hard to miss at all, and Yvonna couldn't think of a reason that anyone would want to miss him. And while she was not at liberty to say, he had certainly made his way into the dreams of several of his co-workers. Yet, it seemed that Jovireh had seemingly made that particular dream a reality. However, while an open relationship was appealing to both Jovireh and Shavan, that wasn't the case with Conor. And Jovireh seemed to have a great deal of respect for his position which while it answered a lot of questions, it raised a few more. "First of all," she began, "just know that while I have just met you, I think I may hate you. At the very least, I'm a little jealous." It was spoken in jest of course, but it would be all too easy to envy Jovireh's position of having such a stable of suitors. Perhaps there was a bit of truth in being envious after all. "So... from the way you speak... is it over between you and Conor? Does he know about Shavan?"Her question was first answered by the suggestion that she could make formal introductions with Conor. "What? Wait... no... I mean... it would be... weird, right?" Yvonna stated. "I mean... it sounded like the two of you had a really strong connection. And just because you want to see him happy, doesn't mean you're ready to see him with someone else." Yvonna paused. "Because, you clearly don't want him to see you with someone else yet either. Wait, I'm doing the counselor thing again, aren't I?" She lifted the glass and tilted it back as she downed nearly a third of its content before setting it back on the table.

[Peig's - Kerelia] Leanna couldn't help but grin as Riyo chuckled at her teasing comment, before they acknowledged Jov and Yvonna. Having only met the Counsellor once, Lea had to admit that it was good to see people outside of work and hoped to get the chance to talk to both of them properly when the opportunity arose. Thanking Riyo as he then pulled out a chair for her. Lea then settled comfortably, allowing some extra room for her growing bump as she reached for her Amber Alert. Hearing Riyo's positive response to the Red Shirt, made Leanna smile as she took a sip of her own drink. " I definitely chose well then" she teased again before adding. " This is pretty good too and I look forward to being able to have the alcoholic version eventually".When Judy and Max then approached and asked if they could join her and Riyo, Lea smiled again as Riyo answered and made room. " Judy, Max it's good to see you both".

[Capt. Judith Eastman(-Williams), PhD & Max Williams - Peig's]Judy and Max were, at the moment, unaware of the impact they were having on the junior officer nearby. They knew it in the abstract, but were not aware in the moment. They sat down, at ease, at Lea and Riyo's table. "Good to see you both here," Judy said. "It's not every day that you get a new bar opening.""And by the time we get another one, you'll be needing a sitter for four," Max added.

[Lt. Paawin Riyo - Kerelia - Peig's]"Are you volunteering?" Riyo asked Max teasingly. They hadn't really discussed babysitter options, but he knew between the daycare, Lea's family and their friends, it wouldn't be too difficult to find help when they needed it. "I am glad we were able to make it out tonight. Once the twins are born, there's no telling how long it will be before we have another chance." It really was a nice establishment, one he hoped they'd be able to visit on a semi-regular basis once their lives settled down again. Having their vacation home just a few blocks away would certainly make that easier.

[SCPO Jovireh Velal - Kerelia - Peig's]Jov grinned slightly at Yvonna's teasing comment about hating her. She hadn't really thought about it before... mainly because she didn't consider her position to be an enviable one. Perhaps if she were actually with both of them... But that wasn't the case. "It never even started," she answered honestly. "He asked me on a date, then asked if I was seeing anyone else. I was honest about Shavan, and he immediately cancelled the invitation." It had hurt, and still did, but she knew it was for the best. Had she not been seeing anyone else, they would have gotten a lot deeper involved... And it would have ended in disaster. "In order for us to be more than friends, one of us would have to try to change an integral part of who we are. That's just asking for trouble." And more heartache than anyone needed in their lives. "Jealousy doesn't work with my lifestyle," she explained honestly. "My staying away from Shavan tonight is mainly out of respect for Conor. I don't want to hurt him any more than I already have." Jov really didn't know how Conor would handle seeing her with someone else... but tonight was the not the night that she wanted to find out. Judging by the way he'd reacted when she first told him, it was difficult to believe he wouldn't be hurt by it. It certainly sounded as though Yvonna's only protests about an introduction were over Jov's own feelings... So without waiting for an affirmation, she quickly down the rest of her whiskey. It burned her throat and sent a warm tingle through her body, and she paused for just a moment to enjoy it before she turned towards the bar. "Hey Conor!" she called above the din of conversation, lifting her empty glass. He had insisted on making her a drink, after all. It seemed to be the perfect way to get him to come back over to the table without making it awkward for either of them.

[Peig's - Kerelia] Leanna smiled as Judy answered her before the older couple sat down at the table. The smile becoming more of a grin at Max's comment, especially when Riyo then teased him back. It was a scary yet wonderful thought about how their lives were about to change so drastically with the impending additions to the family. Although Lea had to agree that it was good to be out and to enjoy Conor's opening night. In fact it was just as equally good to have this time on Kerelia in general before the madness began. " Exactly and it definitely helps that we have the vacation home down here. The kids are with Jem back on the station so we can have some time together as it's all going to change in the next month or so" Lea added as she took another sip of her virgin cocktail. " It also feels as though I haven't seen you both properly, especially you Judy and this is the perfect place to catch up. I'm so happy for Conor, he deserves all of this success".

They would have more time for babysitting soon, but it wasn't to be disclosed just yet. Judy, meanwhile, had just about processed that she had indeed seen Lea very infrequently as of late. "You'll both be just swamped. I thought, when I was young and foolish, that having twins would be easy, because you're just doing the same thing for twice as many babies, but it's the opposite - it's like juggling," Judy said at last. "And that's without having more toddlers around. Forget going out, you two aren't going to get any sleep in the next few years," Max added. The older couple were having a great time teasing their young friends.

[ Jurgha, daughter of Khar & Shavan Th’zhaar - Peig’s] [...] Across the room, Shavan followed Charlie toward the games. Mildly curious, he nodded agreement when she said it must be an existing feud, and watched as she sent the messages to Matt and, presumably, the sour-looking Bolian. Whether they would answer was a different question, and in the meantime they approached dart board. In truth, though he had spent quite a lot of time in bars and similar establishments, and was familiar with sorts of games typically found in them… he had never actually been to Earth, like this place was apparently themed on. And therefore had little experience playing. Though it looked simple enough. He picked up one of the darts. “You just try to throw these in the center, right?” Or were there actually rules? [Charlie Fox - Peig's]Charlie laughed, amusement evident. "That would just be way too straightforward," she pointed out as she placed her pint down and moved toward the board. "Have you ever known humans to be straightforward?" She plucked two sets of darts from their magnetic holder next to the holographic scoreboard display. As soon as she removed them, the game came to life. "Green or blue?" She asked, holding one set in each hand, brows raised. She was referring to the colours of the flights atop each dart set of course, but once she realised how loaded that could potentially be for her green-or-blue friend, she started giggling again. Once colours were chosen, she set about explaining some of the game's rules. "You begin each game with a score of 501, and each round you have three darts to throw. The aim is to get your score to zero first. The centre, or the bullseye, is worth 50 points, the outer ring of the bull is worth 25. The next ring out is the treble score, and the largest ring is the double. If you hit, say, the treble score in the 20 segment, that's treble 20. So if you threw three darts true and hit that segment with each, that's a score of 180."She stepped up to the white line drawn some distance away from the board itself, toe touching the edge. She leaned forward a little, most of the good humour gone from her face as she narrowed her eyes a little and tried to concentrate. The first dart flew from her hand and embedded itself with a wobble in the 20 segment. Close, but not great. The second was closer to the outer ring, and the third was right on the money. The holographic display twinkled and a large '80' twirled in the air. She stepped back and gestured for Shavan to take his turn. "This is one of those games where you get better the more drunk you are." Charlie picked her pint back up and went to work on it.

[ Jurgha, daughter of Khar & Shavan Th’zhaar - Peig’s] At the bar, Jurgha was pleased to continue trying the drinks, at least for the moment. She threw back the shot that was placed in front of her at the same time the bartender did and grinned. “Now, that’s better! What is it?” Just because she preferred food and drink from her homeworld, didn’t mean she wasn’t willing to give things the benefit of the doubt. Returning to the third ale at a slightly more measured pace, she spared a brief glance around at the bar’s other patrons. [SCPO Jovireh Velal - Kerelia - Peig's][...] It certainly sounded as though Yvonna's only protests about an introduction were over Jov's own feelings... So without waiting for an affirmation, she quickly down the rest of her whiskey. "Hey Conor!" she called above the din of conversation, lifting her empty glass. He had insisted on making her a drink, after all. It seemed to be the perfect way to get him to come back over to the table without making it awkward for either of them. [Conor Lynch & Bnada - Peig's, Kerelia]Bnada was very pleased at all of the positive feedback she was getting as a result of the specials and cocktails. Conor Lynch had a feel for the right combinations; the man knew what made a tasty drink. Bnada, for her part, worked well as a sounding board and her knowledge of the quadrant's ales far exceeded the Earth man's. Where less pedestrian liquors were required, she always had a replacement suggestion. She smiled at Leanna, and then waved and gave a small bow toward Evi, who seemed to be enjoying her Dirty Tritter as much as Bnada had enjoyed perfecting it. With a hint of pride then, she answered Jurgha's important question. "It's Ktarian," she confided. "We call it brüsh. For most species, even just a shot will give them hallucinations and nausea. But we're made of stronger stuff."She kept the bottle close by, just in case Jurgha wanted to risk getting put on her backside again. Lynch approached then, and just as the song changed, he grabbed her hand and spun her into a quick series of steps. Despite not having the slightest idea of what she was supposed to do, Bnada, to her credit, managed to keep up for long enough to please the Irishman. He clapped and let out a yeeeoooo, obviously caught up in the moment and the feel of the music himself. He had never been a dancer and could never claim to be, but every Irish person he knew could be counted on to pull out a quick one-two-three when the situation called for it. The last time he'd danced had been at one of his cousin's weddings; a long time ago. Perhaps now that he had Peig's there'd be more reason to. Movement caught his eye. Jovireh, from her spot with the counsellor, was holding her empty glass in the air and calling his name. He waved in response and then ducked his head somewhat in attempt to hide his expression. He had just been to the table to deliver Yvonna's beer, the thought of going back so soon was suddenly a daunting one. All he could think about then was that conversation he'd had with Kova Sh'qaleq and Kaya Som, about how interesting he'd thought the counsellor had seemed. Interesting. Mmhmm.Deciding that some whiskey of the Irish variety was required, he began to fix Jov a Glenlivet Reserve on the rocks. He placed it on a tray and then added a silver bowl, filled with salty nuts and snacks. By the time he'd returned to their table, he'd recovered most of his equilibrium. "Ladies," he greeted again, while placing Jovireh's drink down, followed by some small napkins and the munching bowl. "This one is me new fav'rite," he told Jov, nodding toward the glass with the generous measure of whiskey, "Let me knew wha' ya think. Anythin' fer yerself?" He asked, looking expectantly at Yvonna.

[ Shavan Th’zhaar - Peig’s] Green or blue? ”Ha, ha.” Shavan rolled his eyes at Charlie’s giggle, unimpressed with the color choices she was holding out. But he listened while she explained a scoring system that was indeed not very straightforward. He then stepped back, watching and picking up his drink again while she went first. The holographic score that appeared after her turn at least eliminated most of the suspicion that she had made up the unnecessarily complicated rules as a prank. Even so, it looked easy enough. Stepping into position, he confidently held up the dart, (blue, only because the one he had already taken happened to be from that set) and tried to mimic the way Charlie had aimed. It stuck far off center, in the 1 segment. He stifled a groan, though he was not ready to give up yet. The second was only slightly better (as it had to be), but the third landed in the outermost ring. “So thats.. uh…” The holographic number 30 appeared. Shavan narrowed his eyes. “I’ll just have to get a lot more drunk, then.” He stepped back to let Charlie have her turn again, then, speaking of, drained the rest of his glass and motioned for another round for them both. [George and Evi Hugo - Peig's]
Evi giggled joyfully as Conor spun Bnada briefly in dance. She took another sip of her drink, then reached for George's hand.
'Dance with me!'
It wasn't a question. George was a little horrified. He'd expected to do some slow dances that wouldn't require much coordination; this was a fast, energetic song. But the fact that Evi hadn't even hesitated to say what she wanted melted him into a giant puddle of engineer goo.
He took her hand with a return grin and spun her into his arms and onto the dance floor. George wasn't any great dancer, but he could more or less follow the tempo.
Evi clung to him partly just for the enjoyment of being near her husband, but also because she knew she might sprain her ankle in these shoes otherwise. She beamed up at George, delighted that he was letting himself relax. She could tell he was a little uncomfortable, but appreciated his efforts to do what she wanted. There were a lot of reasons she'd married this man.

[NPC - Lieutenant (j.g.) Yvonna Teller-Wright - Peig's, Kerelia] The counselor listened as Jovireh explained any romance with Conor was over before it began. She had been up front with him about her attachment to Shavan. It was actually an admirable gesture that both of them were attempting to be true to themselves. Yet, Yvonna also had some concerns that that was easier said than done. In fact, Jovireh's decision this evening made the Yvonna question exactly that. She explained that she had stayed away from Shavan out of respect for Conor. "Wait, so you're purposefully ignoring Shavan so that you can spare Conor's feelings?" Yvonna asked. "Are you sure that it's over between you and Conor? Because if the two of you amicably split... isn't it expected that you'd both spend time with other people?"Of course it seemed the initial answer Yvonna got was Jovireh calling over Conor. Her eyes widened slightly as she realized what Jovireh was up to. "Don't you dare...," she began. It was true that Jovireh's glass was empty, but Yvonna was fairly confident that a refill wasn't the only reason. When Conor arrived to check on the pair of them, he returned with a fresh drink for Jov and then turned his attention to Yvonna.
"Um... maybe we can start with topping me off," she said as she gestured at her glass of the Serenity Brew. She offered him a smile with the suggestion, at the same time wondering if Jov could detect the image of the counselor strangling her in hermind.

[SCPO Jovireh Velal - Kerelia - Peig's]Jov couldn't help but smirk slightly when she felt a panic rise in the human as she called Conor for a refill. All she was doing was making the formal introductions. It wasn't as though she expected them to immediately start kissing or whatever. When she could see Conor get to work on fixing a drink, she turned a reassuring smile to the other woman. "It's too complicated to get into here, especially if you're trying to avoid being a counselor for a few hours." She'd picked up on Yvonna's profession from a few comments made, as well as the eagerness to provide advice. Having spent the past thirteen years in therapy, Jovireh was more comfortable talking to counselors than many others seemed to be. But she certainly wasn't intending this evening to turn into a therapy session... Which is where it would lead if she continued to explain why she was alright making the introduction, and why she wasn't spending the evening attached to Shavan's arm. It wasn't long before their topic of conversation approached with a fresh drink for her, as well as snacks, and asked Yvonne if she'd like anything else. She nodded her gratitude towards him, and waited for Yvonna's response before she spoke. "Conor, this is Yvonna. Yvonna... Meet Conor. Though apparently most people call him Cheesy." The word was stressed awkwardly, feeling foreign in her mouth. Not for the first time, she was grateful he didn't mind her not using his nickname. She took an experimental sip of the drink he made, and nodded her approval. "I love it! We were actually just talking about how you've outdone yourself here." Okay, so that wasn't exactly what they had been talking about. But she felt it was close enough to the truth without embarrassing either of them.
