Murphy looked around, trying to hear the quacking of the duck through the hallways. This had been the third time Dennis had escaped from his room. If Lieutenant Spork found out that he had been harboring a secret duck in his dormitory, that would be it for Dennis. Finally, he saw a fuzzy little bolt of lightning waddle past. Quickly grabbing it, he was about to head back when he was confronted by the dread Lieutenant himself, an aging Vulcan who had no tolerance for hijinks whatsoever. Thinking fast, Murphy quickly tucked the peeping little bird into a jacket pocket. “Ah cadet, I would like to see you in my office tomorrow morning for a performance review.” said the Vulcan with a boring look into the sweating cadet’s face” “Sure… sure thing, sir.” Murphy said. The tiny bird peeped indignantly from inside the coat pocket. Lt. Spork looked quizzically at the young man, eyebrow raised. “Uh… That, that was a hiccup, Sir. If you’d excuse me, I’ll get some...water.” Murphy grinned awkwardly as he skedaddled out of there. That was a close one.

About Dennis the Duck:
Dennis is a mallard duck, who is cantankerous, mischievous, and more than willing to bite anyone that is not Ensign Murphy. He loves Ensign Murphy though and is often seen snuggling the gangly ensign.
