There were times when it was possible to get out of a deal, contract, or bet using some trickery, and there were times when one just had to eat their words. As the Ferengi said, a deal was a deal was a deal. But that didn't mean he couldn't try and spin it in his favor. Of course, Costa took only moments to declare herself the victor. "Keting tu put ere da beve, keya? Tufash, tufash..." he jokingly accused her, but his tone wasn't too serious. However, before she had a chance to accuse him of going back on his word (again), he raised a hand in mock surrender. "Na, mi tenye walowda gut rowm, tu botiyas o' ale, same as fong Sickbay," he alluded, hoping she might understand. "Xitim mi bera haf wang." Something about the quick, efficient cleanup from the Alliance forces made him... uncomfortable. He couldn't quite place his finger on it, and he sure wasn't going to go help the poor sap without good reasons to, but it still felt wrong somehow, in a way he couldn't - and didn't want to - think about. He'd keep his eyes open, at least until the free booze did him in. He kept an eye out for the rest of the crowd, trying to see if there was going to be trouble. It'd been too long since he'd had a good bar fight, and if his boss hadn't summoned him here tonight, odds were he'd have started one in the seedier quarters of the station already tonight. "Unless tu got mo ideas?" he asked her, seeing if she might risk her assured reward... and he might be able to find some way to hold on to his precious goods. It wasn't like he was lacking, but winning - or more appropriately, seeing some overconfident people lose - was almost its own reward.
1: What'd you put in the drink? Too fast, too fast... 2: Nah, I got two the good drinks, two bottles of ale, same as from Sickbay.
3: Now I only have one.
4: Unless you have more ideas?
[Costa - Blue Beta, Bar Area]She held up her own hands - she was innocent. Well, of messing with the bet, anyway. Everything else... subject to investigation. Then she placed both elbows on the bar, and leaned in. The mention of the same bottles as those from Sickbay caused a brow to arch and the corners of her lips to curl upward; picking up on a meaning beneath. "To tenya da best botiya deya. Maybe mi ge sick mo often."[fn] You have the best bottles there. Maybe I should get sick more often.[/fn] Costa merely grinned when he amended that his stash would dwindle by one, thanks to her little wager. She could be convinced to share, with the right incentive. Happy to trust Alex to his surveillance of the busy room, she kept her back turned to the crowd and plucked her glass from the bar. She swirled the dark rum a couple of times, expression morphing into something less bright and breezy when he asked if she had more ideas. "Kowltim,"[fn] All the time.[/fn] she muttered, yet did not elaborate further. Her attention was drawn back toward Vasser, who had been joined by some colleagues. The atmosphere had changed since the Zakdorn's forced departure, not that it bothered Costa overmuch, she still had a bottle of rum, but maybe her pulse did pick up a little speed. In her peripheral vision she spied the civvie captain they'd met briefly on Kerelia, the inordinately cheery one, and found herself wondering if he'd be offered something similar to what she had. "Oye Husty, to been fo da Spotty Alibi ye?"[fn] Hey, you been to the Spotty Alibi yet?[/fn] She asked, her tone reflecting a thoughtfulness as she pursed her lips, drank, and followed Thomas Jett's progress across the room. Maybe it was time for a change of scenery.
Tag: Alex Hust [Sir Dugris "Doug" Zaman, MBE, PhD, JD, MBA, PE, RA - Snack Table, Front Ear Station]Doug nodded at the comment about women. He'd known a great many, of more species than most people had. "The Yellow Mountains aren't made of cheese, but they might as well be," he explained. "The native people of the region raise a lot of dairy-producing animals, and they make, in my opinion, the finest cheese in the galaxy. I'd rank them with the old Turei traditions, and more impressive than anything on Earth."Doug looked over the cheese as he entertained the query about the Nyberrites. "I'm not. Something tells me the Nyberrites wouldn't be very happy with my... unfortunate habit of starting fires," he explained, politely not tearing into the group's reputation. Then, he popped some of the "punchy red" into his mouth. "This cheese reminds me of a sampler I had once on Shantil III, at Tanagra, but I doubt this is from there," he recalled. "The El-Adrel sector has exquisite cuisine, if you can manage the language barrier."Doug couldn't help it. He was well-traveled, and instantly oozed stories to the young man. [Blue Beta Bar & Grill, Promenade - Front Ear Station] While Jett made his beeline to the bar, Caroline was left to pick her way through the crowd. It was precarious, given the ridiculous amount of tree sized humanoids that somehow managed to populate the station while avoiding banging their foreheads on low hanging bulkheads. There’d been some sort of a commotion but her main priority was getting to the food buffet without getting stepped on by someone stupidly tall. After narrowly escaping an elbow to the eye, she debated if free food was worth the potential bodily harm. Then she spotted the spread. ”They really went all out,” she whispered to herself, letting out a low appreciative whistle. You catch more flies with honey, and apparently more suckers with fancy cheeses and meats. The counselor spotted a familiar face partaking and one she didn’t quite recognize. She grabbed a plate and sidled up to Doug and the man with the new (not unattractive) face. ”Hiya Sir Doug! Gonna introduce me to your friend here? Did I miss the fancy sales pitch?” Caroline smiled at the both of them, before piling her plate with a few of the cheeses she recognized as tasty and pointedly avoided the blue and veiny varieties. [Nyberrite Alliance Recruit Conor Lynch - Blue Beta, snack table]Well, the Yellow Mountains certainly did sound fascinating to Conor Lynch, even if they weren't technically made of cheese. It sounded like a lot of cheese-adjacent activity was abound there, and so he'd leave it on his bucket list. "The finest cheese in the galaxy, ye reckon..." He repeated, half-muttering to himself. He nodded mutely to the rest of it, having absolutely no clue what Sir Doug was really saying, but not wanting to seem rude by interrupting or like a gobshite for not knowing. "A pyro!" Came his enthusiastic reply, all efforts to keep his voice to a socially acceptable level flying out the airlock. "Sure, they'd love that, so they would." He followed Sir Doug's lead and popped a Punchy Red into his own mouth, chewing thoughtfully and adding around the mouthful, "Though prob'ly not here.""Me ma, that's Peggy Lynch, always says, 'Bein' fluent in food is as good as any other language'. She runs The Spudriq Potato Bar one level up, so she does." All too late, Lynch realised he probably shouldn't be speaking of his personal life; least of all anything related to his ma. She didn't even know that he'd left Starfleet yet to run off and accept the Nyberrites into his heart. He didn't think Sir Doug would ever get the chance to tell on him, though. A bright and smiling lady arrived and began helping herself to some of the cheese. She clearly already knew Sir Doug, but Lynch was quick off the mark to make the necessary introductions himself. "All the fancy I got ta offer ye is cheese! And perhaps the dubious pleasure of me company." He said happily. Lord, he was a terrible salesman. "Evenin' to ye, the name is Conor Phil Lynott Lynch."

"He's with the Nyberrites, you're with the fleet, so I need to watch my mouth," he announced. "So I'll just say that I'm technically not a diagnosed pyromaniac."Doug wasn't a pyro, not in any medical sense, but that didn't matter too much. "Anyway, that is quite a name, Mr. Lynch. I'm impressed. One time, I went by Reginald Matthias Obadiah Wadsworth-Longfellow the Third. Now that was a name," he added.

Sven tilted his head as he listened to Rio and rubbed his beard in a thoughtful fashion. "He made threats?" he must have missed that, "Well, in that case, we can detain for questioning." he glanced over a the drunk, "Stop that." Gloria said as the Zarkdorn tried to pat her head. Or at least that's what it looked like. He looked back over at Rio, "What exactly did he say?" but before she could respond a rather pushy alien entered into the office. He gave her, him, it a curious look. "Yes, we are security officers." he responded, but the alien continued to push onward with some sort of grievance. Sven looked annoyed as he took the PADD. He glanced at it before tossing it onto the counter behind him. "I don't know who you think you are, but that's not how things work around here. If your organization has a grievance to lodge against this man, I suggest arbitration. Which I am neither qualified, nor inclined to do." He paused, "Unless the grievance is of a personal nature. Then I will need specific details of what this man did, specifically, to you. Otherwise, take it up with the judicial affairs office."He wasn't about to get caught up in the affairs of the alliance, and he found it rather off by the demanding nature of this alien. Security Office"Soon as you tell us, it's considered filed," Rio pointed out, staying as polite as she could, "but I don't know that slander or libel are grounds for retaining a person." Her nose wrinkled up into a frown. "And I don't know that a private correspondence can be used as slander unless you can show intent by them being released. And there is still free speech and the right to voice an opinion, and besides, he's intoxicated, so anything spewing from his mouth doesn't hold much credence."She didn't know why she was suddenly defending the Zakdorn, except that the approach by the Nyberrite Alliance advocate just rubbed her the wrong way. "Doesn't seem like a criminal act, more like something you need a lawyer for." Not that she knew that much of the laws, but she couldn't recall ever arresting or detaining a drunk for talking. ____ Tags Isaiah Quinn Sven Aune

[Fells Halgerdur - Blue Beta Bar - Leanna's Office] Ryah asked him whether Vesser had already approached him? When she told him that they've already spoken to him was perfect. Fells wrinkled his brow in confusion. He had expected the opposite. When he was then told to acceptbthe offer his eyes grew wide. "What? Why?" Fells' eyes shifted to his new baby, who gooed at her. He really didn't want to do anything that would take him away from.his child. He still listened to her theory about the alliance. The remark about trusting him was like dangling a bribe in front of his nose. Trust was something that needed to be earned, which was especially hard for Fells. Then Felicity confirmed that they wanted him to take the offer And explained how Vesser might have gotten her intel. Fells frowned at the idea of becoming a mole. "I'm not sure what you're asking me to do....to be a Federation spy?" There was a very high risk of being discovered and what would happen to him then? What would the Alliance do to punish him? He looked from one to the other. They seemed to be serious. Fells threw his hands up, blew out some air and then ran his hands over his head in desperation. "I've just gotten out of prison. What do you think they'll do if they find out that I'm passing on information?" Then his stance became firm. "There is only one good reason for me to do that....other than helping you. I want to be part of the Fleet again." He then took Aven in his arms who looked at him. [NPC - SCPO Melihn Ryah - Blue Beta Bar - Leanna's Office] Ryah's eyes widened in stunned disbelief as Fells made his demand of the captain. What the hell was he doing? Perhaps her faith in his desire to reform had been misplaced. She shook her head in disappointment as she looked to Felicity to gauge her reaction. [Felicity Ellis - Blue Beta, Office]Felicity's heart sank when she realised what her best friend's fiance was trying to do to her. She blinked, for a moment completely shocked into silence, her expression blank and her jaw actually slack. Of course, she could understand any concerns he might have had with regard to the task the were asking him to consider, but she would have happily, and with no judgement, accepted his refusal. What she couldn't accept was his leveraging their request for help against them, in return for something that wasn't possible to give. "You were found guilty of accepting bribes while on duty, Fells. You spent six months in a penal colony. There is no Fleet for you, you were told this." A white hot anger shot through her, but she remained still, her voice low; almost dangerously so. What was happening at that moment was the end of something, and that was sad, but right then that unhappiness was not overriding her anger at the gall of the man she'd only ever tried to help. "The only hope you'd ever have is via the good graces of an Admiral, and as you know, that well has been tapped. At my own expense." The things she'd promised Antoinette Ellis in order to secure him a lenient sentence... Her narrowed stare was icy, all former warmth winked out with the flick of a switch. "The answer is no." She turned from him and addressed Melihn. "We have a list of five other viable candidates, Chief, one of those will do the job just as well. Now, if you'll excuse me."It was time to leave his company, lest she do or say something that would upset her best friend. For all his talk of helping and wanting to make things up to everyone, it turned out Fells was only out for himself.

Disappointment at the turn things had taken had her walking through the bar without her usual alertness. The chief bumped into a couple of people on her way, but anyone who would have reacted with indignation immediately backed off when they saw the smallness of the person who'd bumped them. She almost walked right into the backs of a pair that were headed out of the bar, but managed to pull up short of actually rear-ending them. Ryah realized that they were Andorians, and one of them happened to be one of the prospectives from Lt. Harmon's list. Excellent. Kova Sh'qaleq? Could I speak to you for a few minutes? She kept her voice low, not wanting to call attention to their interaction.

While some of the ideas being spouted might have merit, for the most part they were bordering on extreme. Rio laughed. "I bet he'll be feeling it in the morning, even with the meds!" Hangovers were not fun, and medications could only do so much to make the headaches and sensitivity to light and sound tolerable. "What's stopping us?" Rio looked up at Sven and shrugged. "He did make threats," she pointed out, "isn't that cause for detaining him and doing an investigation?" That would give them at least some chance to ask questions. "Or just...ask him, be sympathetic to his grievances, it's not like we'd have to pretend."_____ Tags: Sven Aune Ozu Saya Isaiah Quinn [/b][/quote] [NPC - Colonel Helena Vasser & Major Chromar - Blue Beta Bar, Promenade, Front Ear Station] & Vasser watched as Fells retreated away, stating that he'd have to speak about it with his fiance. "Of course," she replied. "I totally understand. It is a big decision after all." She watched as he retreated towards Leanna and then from view all together. It could possibly be a good sign that they had rushed off so quickly, yet it could be equally annoying if he was spooked. Of course, she did have the advantage. She knew about him, but he clearly wasn't privy to anything about her... at least for now. And that left her alone at the bar for the time being. Though, it didn't take long before for someone to occupy the seat closest to her. "You spooked him," the Romulan stated. "He said that he needed to speak with his fiance," she replied. The explanation only caused the man to chuckle. Vasser sighed and shook her head. "Why don't you make certain that everything is underway for the tours. No sooner had she finished the sentence, did the Romulan's lips begin to part. "Do it again. Vasser lowered her voice and leaned closer. "And see if you can figure out what Ellis is up to. I sincerely doubt she'll spend the evening making silly faces and playing patty-cake."Chromar's head tilted to the side. "Patty-cake?" he repeated. Vasser waved the question off, and Chromar slid from his stool. "I'll take care of it. He began to walk off, but paused. He inched a bit closer to Vasser once more. "If you need me to apply a little pressure...."Vasser shook her head. "I don't believe that will be necessary. Major," she said as she bid her subordinate to tend to his duties. Her eyes then fell upon the corner of a bar where quite a few people seemed interested in a single individual. Vasser moved towards the corner of the bar, and smirked as she recognized the face in question. "The infamous Thomas Jett. You boys are wasting your time with this one. There's only one person he's ever been loyal to.

She stopped in front of the two officers, her red mohawk as vibrant as her eyes. They lowered briefly to examine the Zakdorn and then looked back at the large man and the woman with him. "I am Alpha Sergeant Gorsk. You are security officers aboard this station?" she asked. She hardly waited for a response before she continued. She extended her hand and offered them the PADD "Objective one of three: The Nyberrite Alliance would like to file a formal complaint of character defamation," Gorsk stated. "You will find on this PADD his identification, service number, his service evaluation records, and his discharge papers. [...] [Blue Beta Bar and Grill – In front of Leanna’s Office] Tom made his choice and picked the choice of trust. Locating the Captain was a little hard but it was not impossible to do. The last year trying to hack into the Falcon has improved his hacking skills a little bit. Tom walked in front of the door with no idea what has happened on the other hand. The only person that might believe his story might be Felicity. The clasp his hand and rubbed them as he took a deep breath. Jett was a little nervous and this situation could go downhill fast. He pressed the control of the door and merely said “Felicity, this is Tom. We need to talk.” . The die was cast and he felt that it was up to fate how it would work. He knew what he was asking as a tall order. It is not every day that a Civilian would request a CO access to the Computer Core and Sensors. The more he thought about it the more ridiculous it sounded. [Felicity Ellis - Blue Beta, Officer -> Lounge Area]The unexpected sound of Thomas Jett's voice over the comm brought an end to the uncomfortable, charged silence. Felicity stopped just short of the door, and then followed her Chief of Security out of the office once she'd acknowledged the new orders. She stepped outside, leaving Fells Halgerdur, his blackmail attempt and his special brand of 'difficult' behind. "Tom," she said by way of greeting, and then gestured toward the closest booth. Her expression was tight and her body language stiff; she was obviously wound up. She had no idea what this next civilian wanted, but if he was there to leverage his help for a water shower she was going to stab him in the neck. "Over here." She stepped toward the booth and then after a moment's hesitation, decided to sit. "What do you need?"
Tag: Thomas Jett [ Brooke - Private Quarters] Sometimes it felt like she couldn't love Greg anymore than she already did, but when he reacted to the cakes and watched her as she cut the slices for them to enjoy, she just loved how he appreciated cake and her the delicious delights that she created. Even when he agreed about the chocolate orange, it made her smile and at times, she could never imagine not smiling whenever he was around. This was a love that transcended above everything that she had ever known before and how she always appreciated it all, right down to the small seemingly inconsequential things. Moving round to join him as he tucked into the tantalising morsels, Brooke couldn't help but grin as he added cream to one of pieces and proceeded to offer cheers to her, before he popped it into his mouth. " Yes cheers" she reciprocated, as she then followed suit by adding some of the vanilla cream to the plain chocolate sponge and savoured each bite as she ate it. Taking pride in not only her reaction but also how appreciative Greg was. When he then complimented her about how excellent it had been, she looked over and smiled as she responded to him. " Thank you my love" she replied, resisting the urge to lick the cream off his fingers for him, but watching him do it was just as enjoyable, as he then reached for the other piece of cake and the chocolate cream. Momentarily distracted by other thoughts until he brought the conversation back to the wedding agenda and if there was anything left on it. Going through the checklist with her free hand, Brooke was pleased to see that there was only one thing left to finalise, as she turned her attention back to her handsome Fiance. " The only thing left is for us to decide on our first dance song". [Gregory Ellis - Private Quarters]"Anytime," he responded to her thanks with a wink and an easy grin, before plucking a napkin from a nearby neat pile and wiping his hands. "Ah!" How could have have forgotten the first dance song? "What are our options, what are your favourites? They should all be on the shortlist, unless you've something to add. I want to include all of the special songs from our engagement party, too."There'd been Brooke's live performance, and then a dance they'd shared, and both songs had become quite special to him. They were on heavy rotation in his favourite playlist, and he didn't give a flying crap who knew, heard, or commented. Anything that made him think of Brooke was always a good thing, in his opinion. Although it wasn't too conducive to getting work done, truth be told, so he limited his music consumption to quiet evenings and work-outs.

She stepped toward the booth and then after a moment's hesitation, decided to sit. "What do you need?" Tom looked at Ellis as she appeared to be tight and not herself. He wondered did something bad happened or the pressure of the moment. For a second, he wanted to focus on what has happened. Being in Command is not fun and he was probably going to make it harder for her. He stood quiet for a second and followed her to the lounge area and in a booth. He sat on the booth and looked at her as she asked what he needed. He picked up the PADD and looked at her. He wondered how to proceed on this situation. He would make and start about himself, but he was a little concerned for the Captain as well. As he sat he remained silent for a second and tapped his hand on the table. It would have been obvious he was thinking about what to say or how to approach the situation. “We both know, I would seriously suck as a counselor. But you don’t look like yourself, Felicity” . Really you start the conversation telling her she looks like crap! Counselor of the year award right there for you. Jett thought to himself. With a concerned look, he leaned forward and said “It’s everything ok? I know I’m not a member of your crew and I’m here if you need it. Although, no offense this is more Caroline’s area if you need to be Felicity and not Captain Ellis. I’m here. Tom tried to say with genuine concern. It was true she was the daughter of the person that probably despise him the most but she was a human being allowed to feel and make mistakes. “Even with 4 gold pips, you are still human” Tom said the obvious as he tried to be sympathetic at first. He stood silent waiting for her response. He did not want to bring up the Codes now, but also time was in the essence. As he leans forward and listened to her. He looked hesitant and this might not the best time. He would not try and interrupt her at all and let her vent. “This might not the best time for this.” . He said softly and he slides over a PADD to the Captain. She would read the request first hand “There is this group of people here an alliance called whatever….recognized my….colorful record. They know I am a traitor and would let me in if I prove my ‘loyalty’ to them. I wanted to say no until I saw the request. They wanted Command Level Access to the Computer Core of the Station and Internal and external data. . Jett stopped and spoke the obvious “We both know what Command Codes on the wrong hands would do and God knows the reason for their sensor data. This is like… ‘Joker’ big-time Shady, not to be confused with small-time ‘Captain Boomerang’ type of Shady. No one likes Captain Boomerang as their villain. . Tom ranted for a second as he spoke of the Ancient Earth Comic Book Villain. Tom leaned back for a second and then gave his request. “I’m asking you to give me both of them to find out what they are doing. The last time I did my own side mission and tried to play hero by myself we ended up pointing weapons at each other. . Tom looked around as he knew he was requesting a big deal. Hey, Tom…while you are at it you should ask the keys for the Mac. New Quarters, control of all the weapons and of course a shower.” . He thought to himself as he wondered how the Captain would react to him. He then realized how the entire conversation might have looked that he was trying to be butter her up to get that Data. But he was still concerned about her. He wanted to avoid stealing the codes without her knowing.

Tag: Leanna Mazal (Brooke) [ Brooke - Private Quarters] How easy was it to just continue staring at her hot Fiance, especially when he responded to her thanks with that wink and grin. Thinking it wouldn't hurt for a few more seconds to do so, before he wiped his hands and remembered about the first dance song. Now it was Brooke's turn to grin briefly, the remnants of her own cake forgotten for the time being as he then asked, what their options were, what her favourites were and how they should all be on the shortlist. " I do believe that we have the shortlist under ...." Brooke paused for a minute as she returned her attention to the PADD and quickly found the file. " Ah here we go ... we have 7 options on the list" she added as Greg also asked if she had anything to add and how he wanted to include their special engagement songs. That made Brooke smile, knowing how incredibly romantic it was for him to do that and how much it meant to them. " If we include the special engagement songs that takes us up to 9 to choose one, then the rest can be played during the reception".With the list open, Brooke moved it so Greg could see what it contained. Perfect, Amazed, Power of Love, Thinking Out Loud, Feel My Love, Show Me Heaven, Need You Now
There was one last surprise to be added as Brooke looked at Greg. " I do have one to add, I found it the other day and wanted to you to hear it first" she said as she then instructed the computer to play it. Brooke 2

Ryah nodded sharply to the captain before they both exited the bar owners office. The unexpected sound of Thomas Jett's voice over the comm brought an end to the uncomfortable, charged silence. "What do you need?"Tom looked at Ellis as she appeared to be tight and not herself. He wondered did something bad happened or the pressure of the moment. For a second, he wanted to focus on what has happened. Being in Command is not fun and he was probably going to make it harder for her. He stood quiet for a second and followed her to the lounge area and in a booth. [NPC - Colonel Helena Vasser - Blue Beta Bar, Promenade, Front Ear Station] Most people found the Ferengi to be annoying, selfish and opportunistic. Vasser, however, appreciated their ability to read the room and pay attention to detail, no matter how small. While she had been working the room, shaking hands and getting to know people, both those that were interested in working with the Alliance, and those that would have nothing to do with her, details were starting to mount. Obviously, she had her concerns when Halgerdur left. Perhaps he had been spooked by her offer. Of course, that meant her eyes were casually watching that door for the duration. It was a while later, but eventually Thomas Jett of all people went to that door, and who would emerge other than Captain Ellis and her Security Chief, Melihn Ryah. Ellis certainly appeared less than pleased, certainly compared to when she'd gone in. Though, she moved off to a booth with Jett while Melihn approached Kova Sh'qaleq. Vasser wasn't suspicious by nature, but she was cautious. None of it equated to anything concrete. Melihn was Sh'qaleq's boss and Jett sitting in a booth with Ellis wasn't really alarming, but perhaps it was the timing of it all. "Excuse me for a moment," Vasser said to a Rigelian shop owner as she took a few steps away. "Vasser to Chromar. I think your hand is starting to show, Major. Assess and report. Vasser out. Were they scrambling and attempting to do damage control? Were they afraid that the Alliance was trying to poach the talent they took for granted? Or was the captain working on something far more nefarious. That was up to Chromar to find out. In the meantime.... "I'm sorry about that," Helena said as she returned to the Rigelian who had been joined by a Bajoran couple. "Now, where were we? Oh, yes... Mr. McCord," she called waving over another patron. He was a local shop owner and began to move towards the small circle. "I think it'd be best to hear from one of your own, regarding all the pros and cons of working with the Allaince." Helena then allowed Mr. McCord to speak, as she stood there prepared to answer questions, but occasionally glancing in the directions of both Ellis and Melihn.

"Soon as you tell us, it's considered filed," Rio pointed out, staying as polite as she could, "but I don't know that slander or libel are grounds for retaining a person." Her nose wrinkled up into a frown. The Zakdorn said nothing, as he felt he's vomit again if he opened his mouth. The woman who was giving him shots and taking care of him was so nice. He patted her head affectionately, momentarily forgetting his earlier pique. But the Na'kuhl who entered after them and was talking to the security officers started raising his ire again. Unfortunately for him, or fortunately depending on one's perspective, the vast quantity of alcohol he'd consumed finally overcame him and he toppled forward off the bench. [NPC - Alpha Sergeant Gorsk - Security Office, Promenade, Front Ear Station] Gorsk simply stood stoic as the larger individual appeared to be more dense than the typical human. Perhaps his auditory senses were failing, and that was why he hadn't understood who she was after she identified herself. Of course, considering the rest of his words as he seemed reluctant to accept her complaint, she began to deduce that his aversion was subjective and personal than professional. The female however, appeared to be more cooperative. Perhaps this was what Terrans called: Good cop, Bad cop. Thus far, she was unimpressed by the technique. "Thank you," she said to Rio. She then lifted her hand communicator and spoke into it. "Quartermaster's log. Note the time. Record of complaint is made at time of filing. Receipt confirmed." Gorsk then looked between the pair of security officers as she lowered her hand. "I believe you misinterpret our intent. We do not seek prosecution. Merely wish to establish that our claim has been made with the local of authorities. Additional matters of arbitration will follow accordingly. You may simply serve as witnesses that the formal complaint was not fraudulent.""Now, objective three of three," Gorsk stated. "You may note among records I have presented to you on this individual a formal letter of notification that his benefits for service are presently frozen pending the outcome of a formal hearing. As his current custodians...." Gorsk watched as the man fell over and onto the floor. She stared at him and then looked at the three Starfleet officers, including the medic present, "I am certain you will make him aware of this at a more appropriate time."The Na'kuhl cleared her throat. "His medical file is also present among the records I have surrendered," she stated. "You may find something of use regarding his metabolism."
Tag: Sven Aune (& Crewman Shivv), Rio Sosa , Ozu Saya (Zakdorn) ********** [NPC - Major Chromar - Deck 15, Front Ear Station] A groan of frustration left his lips as the comm ended. That woman had the worst possible timing. A pair of thin arms slid beneath his arms and wrapped around his bare chest. He took a deep breath and slowly exhaled. "Must you leave, right now?" came a sultry voice. The Deltan woman pulled herself closer as she pressed her cheek against his own. "The colonel isn't a patient woman," Chromar said. He reached down, sliding his hand over one of her own, his fingers sliding between hers. "Neither am I." He could feel her slowly pull away, but not before placing a kiss on his cheek, and he felt the pressure of her teeth on his earlobe. "I am well aware," Chromar stated. Nevertheless, he started to stand, moving towards the chair where his jacket had been tossed. As he picked it up, he glanced back at the Deltan. For an interruption like this, the colonel would owe him. He certainly planned on collecting upon that debt when the time was right. He pulled several strips of latinum from his jacket pocket. "Buy something extra nice for yourself. One way of many that I plan to make up for this." And with that, the major began to slide his arms into his jacket as he walked out of the bedroom.

Kova wasn’t any easy person to read, but that made Shavan all the more interested in getting to know her. For a moment it seemed like Kova’s mind might still be on the Nyberrite Alliance, but she gave no indication that she’d rather stay. Instead she agreed to to get another round elsewhere on the condition that he was buying. Well, he couldn’t object to that. It was his turn to after all. “Very well.” He grinned and started walking in the direction of the promenade. “Shall we go then?”Ryah nodded sharply to the captain before they both exited the bar owners office. Disappointment at the turn things had taken had her walking through the bar without her usual alertness. The chief bumped into a couple of people on her way, but anyone who would have reacted with indignation immediately backed off when they saw the smallness of the person who'd bumped them. She kept her voice low, not wanting to call attention to their interaction. [ Kova Sh'qaleq - Blue Beta Bar, Promenade, Front Ear Station] A smile actually began to creep onto the face of the Andorian. She began to fall into step alongside Shavan as she pondered his question of where they should go. "I'm not sure," she began. She thought about his little search for danger that he'd mentioned earlier. "If you're still feeling a little adventurous, we could try the Spotty Ali--"She stopped midsentence as she heard someone call her name from behind. Turning, saw who the voice belonged to, and the smile that had been there previously disappeared. Effectively, Ryah Melihn was Kova's boss. That definitely weighed heavily in the question that had followed over whether she had a few minutes to spare to speak to the woman. She was tempted to ask if it was an order, but felt that could certainly blow up into her face. She glanced briefly at Shavan, confident he understood her latest dilemma. "Sure," Kova said flatly. Was this an impromptu evaluation of her work? Hell, did Ryah even pay attention to what she did? Or better, did she even trust her? Perhaps this was the point where she gave the Andorian the extended speech explaining why she was fired. How many nice ways were there to say, 'you're out of here because you're a security risk'? "Is this something you want to get into here?" Kova wondered if there was any sort of setting that was mutually ideal to be fired in?

She clearly resented him, and he really couldn't blame her. Payment was entirely fair. Unforgettably, the situation he had put her in was anything but fair. "I understand and apologise for the inconvenience, however I sadly cannot commit to any payments upfront. However, depending on how useful you prove to be I may be able to find some ways to reward you other than keeping you alive and removing any references to you in the Tal Shiar database." This was nothing short of a crimping. "Shove your 'reward'," Avi said. "I'm not doing you a favor. If it's good work you want, then good money I get. I fix your mess, you fix mine. That's the only kind of friend I like." The sharp green smoke was thick. When Avi stood and meandered back toward the door, the smoke made a trail like tentacles behind her. She punched the door release again. "You can write in your diary you got your mark and she didn't bite a hole in your neck. Now go away." Avi twiddled her fingers.

Once he'd settled he activated his communication to speak to the Captain. "Harmon to Captain Ellis. I've...uh secured the parts required for the repairs we discussed. But he was still concerned about her. He wanted to avoid stealing the codes without her knowing. [Felicity Ellis - Blue Beta, Booths]When Jett said she didn't look like herself, she consciously arranged her expression into something more neutral. The last thing she wanted was to give any sign of dissatisfaction, particularly not in front of the Nyberrite Alliance, who were here trying to poach her people. When he asked if she was okay, she managed a small grin. "I'm fine." Though the smile did not reach her eyes, she looked a little more relaxed. She rolled her shoulders and crossed her legs, forcing herself into a more comfortable position. No, he wouldn't be the best counselor in the world, but for some reason Thomas Jett was probably one of few people who would consider her enough of an equal to ask her anything personal. Most everyone else would wonder, but never inquire after their Captain's well-being. "Can't say I'm too happy with all of this," she added in a quieter tone, her eyes scanning the room and catching Colonel Vasser glancing in her direction. She pulled her gaze away from the woman in the pristine uniform, and returned it to Jett before confiding, "Command thinks they're up to something."But of course, he wasn't there to listen to her administrative problems. No, just like everyone else, he wanted something from her, and the more he spoke, the more her already low heart sank. She resisted the urge to slam her forehead off the booth's table in frustration. Instead, she sat back against the cushion and sighed. "You know I can't give you command codes, Tom." She paused for a moment, eyes searching his face for a sign he was joking. She didn't recognise his villain references, but she certainly remembered their armed standoff. The memory kickstarted a new line of thought. Having someone on the inside, someone with no connection to her plan or Harmon's operation, would be somewhat ideal. Particularly if she knew that person might be inclined toward loyalty, not toward the Fleet, but perhaps toward her. At least he's not asking to be an officer again... She wasn't entirely sure why yet, but she was suddenly overcome by a wave of mirth. She pressed her lips into a line, trying not to laugh. What a ridiculous day. Still trying to stifle the ill-timed, burgeoning giggle-fit, she leaned forward, eyes on Thomas Jett. "Did you know, it has taken us much longer than I thought it would to whip everyone into shape. There are still a few hold-outs, some crew who still subscribe to Parsinp's rather lax arrangements," she told him conversationally, her voice betraying her amusement, "We have an issue with a couple of the lads on the Core night shift. Once it's time to clock out, they scarper, don't even wait for their relief. The 2100 hours handover is particularly bad, and I despair to think there's no overlap, that those stations are unmanned from anywhere between 90 seconds to five minutes. Imagine!"Harmon's voice stopped her from entertaining herself with any more theatrics. "Harmon to Captain Ellis. I've...uh secured the parts required for the repairs we discussed. I'd like to meet with you as soon as possible to discuss going forwards." =/\= "Understood, Lieutenant. I'll meet you in your office shortly to discuss the repair schedule." =/\= Dramatically, she sighed once she'd closed the comm. "Duty calls," she said to Jett, but she remained seated for the moment, just in case he had more outlandish requests.

She had no idea what this next civilian wanted, but if he was there to leverage his help for a water shower she was going to stab him in the neck. "Over here." She stepped toward the booth and then after a moment's hesitation, decided to sit.

"Soon as you tell us, it's considered filed," Rio pointed out, staying as polite as she could, "but I don't know that slander or libel are grounds for retaining a person." Her nose wrinkled up into a frown.

| Security office, Promanade || lt. Sven Aune | medic Gloria Shivv |

Claiming to have received some sort of receipt for the whining she made against the Zarkdorn. He rounded on her, "Why do I care if your organization has frozen his benefits? Why are you telling me this? This is obviously an intra-organizational issue." he pointed his finger between the sergeant and the now puking drunk. "Work it out between yourselves. Not transporting this with the fucking teleporter." she looked to Rio "And you..... Replicated a change of clothes for me."Sven stood back with a grimace. "Crewman..." he was about to warn her. Tom observed as a woman glanced at both of them and then listened to Felicity. The woman once again seemed familiar and there was a chance that she might know him or he might have known her. Instead of interrupting the conversation about that issue he took a mental note of her and would probably ask who she is.
She first confessed that she was not to happy at the entire situation. And Tom could imagine, taking a Command on a new place and someone recruiting and competing against you on your station is probably not a good thing. Tom looked at her as she clearly lied that she was “fine”. He did not know what was wrong but he figured that it was more than this “Alliance” throwing a party and recruiting people.
She did confirm that he was not the only thinking they were up to something. But they did not know what it was. The new found interest seemed suspicious but he did not know their endgame. They could be a benign force but his instinct told him otherwise.
He looked a little defeated but he understood the Captain about not giving him Command Codes. If the shoes were reversed, he would not be able to give it to her. He looked down for a second as he wondered. Both of them knew the full potential of the Command Codes especially on the Computer Core with the right Command Codes people could die and it could turn the Station against the Federation.
Jett the small hint of defeat would have told that he was serious to Felicity and this was no joke. He knew his request was big but at the same time it was necessary. Tom was going to make protecting the Codes his biggest priority. At the moment where it seems like his hope was lost he noticed that Felicity was smiling again.
He looked up at her and remained quiet he lean towards her like they were about to gossip as she explained her complaint about her crew. When she informed him about the issues with the change of the core. Tom looked at Felicity eyes and could not help but smile and chuckle a little bit.
Smart Girl He though to himself as she was giving him an opening or telling him the opening that he needed instead of spending days scouting himself. Tom looked at that but could not help but chuckle “I imagine, the horror!” . Tom responded sarcastically. As she appear to look more like her old self.
This was what he needed this moment to give him the opening. To get the Codes himself and she appears to be innocent. He would be doing a crime for a moment but if someone on the Station could afford to make a crime and not have his carrier ruin it was him.
As she mentioned that duty calls and she needed to do something else. He realized that he could not monopolize the Captain’s time. Or if people saw them on a table giggling it might make them look suspicious.
“Felicity…I wanted to say” . Tom took a second and took a deep breath. His eyes watered a little bit as he was touched. She did not have to say anything but he knew she was trusting him. “Thanks…it’s been a while” . Tom did not want to say it but it has been a while that someone in Starfleet trusted him with something important. He then smiled at her and said “Take Care of yourself and stay safe ok?” He figured she was tense before because something is going to happen or something did happen. “No matter what anyone else says, even Admiral Ellis actually especially Admiral Ellis, I believe in you Captain Ellis. ” . He would tend tried to put his hand to her shoulder trying to give her comfort. What happened earlier and her doubts. She trusted him and it was his time to trust her. He did not know but he needed to keep his eyes and ears open.
“My mom”. He said studently and without a purpose. “My Mom’s death is the reason why I joined Starfleet. The news and interviews are all wrong. I lied to them. Only you know that now. If I hear that information, I know they are coming directly from you. “ Tom said. A stupid piece of information that only one other person knew and she has disappeared. If he was going to go and join them and she sends someone undercover he might need to identify that person and trust them.
He would look at her and hoped that this whole thing would work out. There was a chance that he might be over his head and it might be the last time they would see each other. After all, he was walking in blind. “I have to get going as well. Y’know I have stuff to do” . Tom commented. He then walked and looked at the woman. He then said “That lady over there kept looking at us. She seems familiar but I can’t place her. It’s probably nothing.” . Tom commented out loud as he was still thinking.

Security OfficeIt took quite a bit of self control not to burst out laughing as the Zakdorn spewed all over the woman, but it was pretty gross, and certainly not deserved, even if a hazard of the job. "Yeah, sure..." She paid no mind to the orderly nature of the order, she would help regardless, and headed over to the replicator to get a fresh change of clothes and some damp, rose-scented towels. "Here you go." Setting the uniform close by, she took the towels over to the Zakdorn and gingerly started wiping him down. If nothing else, he would smell pretty when she was done!
