[ Leanna - Orient Express] With Chloe introducing herself to Eliska, before the other woman and Lea's friend agreed with how hard it was to think of Aven as a five month old. Leanna appreciated how she didn't have to comment further and bring up the unpleasantness that had happened. Although she was sure in time, that she would be able to mention Fells without breaking down in tears or breaking any of her belongings at the injustice of it all. However she was able to tear herself away from those particular thoughts as Redd paid her another rather flattering comment about how she couldn't possibly be old enough to have two children. That earned the Host a grin and a small blush, his methods clearly having a positive influence on the Betazoid as she reached for her drink and took a hearty sip in a flirty manner. It was a move that was more like the old Leanna and someone who she was keen to be once again, determined not to have her heart broken or be ..... Another sip and Lea was able to rejoin the conversation as Chloe became inquisitive with their host. Lea listened with interest, before he excused himself in order to continue his host duties. Applauding as she listened to his speech, before nodding and smiling appreciatively as the Blue Beta was given a mention and he bowed in her direction, when he said her name. At the playful comment he made about her staff, he wasn't wrong, not that she had hired them purely on looks but no doubt Jack and some of the others would get a kick out of it. " Ah that's a secret" she quipped, before he approached one of the business owner tables. Again giving Redd her full attention, as they were introduced reminding Lea that she needed to book some time in the Serenity Spa and the facial voucher would definitely be used. The Bar Owner had a soft spot for the Spotty Alibi so didn't join in with the titters but as Redd began to finish his speech about the awards and the food, Lea didn't take her eyes off of him until he rejoined their table and she took another sip of her gin. The arrival of Kit and some of the others taking her focus away from Eliska for a moment as they started to serve the appetisers and she spoke with them. [Chloe Hudson - Orient Express]Chloe had a feeling that there was far more to Redd than he let on, though it seemed unlikely he'd be willing to share too much more. He had a way with words, and she suspected he was adept at twisting the truth and language to suit his needs. The question is, is he dangerous or someone she should be worried about? Perhaps that was simply all her intelligence training and the paranoia Harmon fostered. Maybe she should just relax and enjoy the evening for what it is.
"Nice to meet you, Eliska without the snake sounds," she smiled. She hadn't quite heard her name before when Redd had been greeting everyone...or at least everyone he seemed to fancy. Redd's speech was all very wordy and eloquent, made to butter up the audience and make them feel special. It was vacuous, but Chloe appreciated it. It was a nice escape from the reality she had known for most of her life. A reminder that things really could get better and more comfortable. She smiled and clapped along with the speech, following the queue of the rest of the room as he gave his speech. "Well, Mr. Reddington you have a way with words, don't you? Quite the silver tongue," she smiled once he had rejoined the table and sat down. [Benjamin J. "Redd" Reddington - Orient Express]Reddington, pleased with Leanna's audience participation and with Chloe's kind words, beamed at them as he sat back down. He took a moment to slate his thirst afresh and took a generous gulp from his gimlet, before he sat back to allow one of the servers to place the linen serviette across his lap. "That is very decent of you to say, Miss Hudson, you have certainly made my night." The young lady continued to be a treat, and of course Leanna was the most pleasant company. He hadn't yet won over Elissska, but the night was still new. "Ah, ladies, it appears as though the first course has arrived!" He looked out over the table as the servers, with straight backs and white gloves, positioned themselves behind each diner. Then, in perfect unison, they served. "Well done, well done. Bravo." Benjamin J. Reddington might be a difficult man to work for, but he always gave praise where it was due. "Shall we dig in? Bon appétit!" With a nonchalance borne of a lifetime of fine dining, Reddington began to spread some of his caviar with the provided Christofle silver. "Tell me, Miss Hudson, what is it that you do here on Front Ear, yourself?" He inquired before sampling his starter. [ Cwm Eliska Bremmer - Orient Express ]It would seem that Leanna was indeed enjoying the attention she was getting from Reddington, as if she didn't know the man had just gotten out of a stint in the brig. What exactly it was for, the Security Crewman couldn't remember to save her life. But now here he was, giving a speech at a dinner about the business interests of the Promenade. And if she had read the mandate of APISS properly when she reviewed it, their agenda was one that wouldn't be well-received back on Nova Kosice. Hell, she had seen some would-be "colonists" try to emigrate there, only to complain about the lack of amenities, the lack of modern education, modern medicine, widespread culture and off-world restaurants. People who'd complain about the lack of a weather stabilization grid like Risa and the smell of manure as it was used to fertilize fields in the fall... while living next to a farm. When food arrived, and Eliska found herself faced with vaguely translucent slices of meat elegantly folded into flower-like shape. Was that how food was supposed to look like in high society? Well, judging by what else was making it to their table, it seemed that it was the case, and she tried one of the slices, finding the meat carried the salt and heavy spices of a curing job... but she couldn't really identify much of anything, so much was overpowering her palate. Definitely not the same kind of cured beef she was used to, but it certainly was tasty. After she finished chewing the first meat flower, she considered her fellow women at the table, and found herself in need to ask a dire question. "I know this is going to sound stupid, but what is a spa, and what's a facial in, ah, this context?"

[Present Day – Dining Cart – Orient Express] Just then a human man approached an empty seat near them, and asked if it was taken. "Not previously, but I expect it will now be taken by yourself." T'Laara replied as a way of invitation. Neither she or Shavan had reason to object. Tom was dazed for a second as his mind wandered in the past. He knew he should be focused on the moment as he needed to focus on the present and not the past. Tom still felt a little down from the events in history, but he needed to be in the moment. He looked at the Vulcan as she mentioned indirectly he could take the seat. Tom smiled of a second and responded "Thank you. I am hopefully not intruding in a serious conversation; if so, my apologies. . The man nodded as he pulled out his chair and then gently sat in it. He kindly bowed at everyone on the table, sending short greetings. As he sat down, he picked up the napkin and placed it in his lap. He observed the silverware and then moved them slightly to the location that he wished it. He looked at the Vulcan that greeted him and then asked "So where are you from?" . He asked with a slight smile as he was curious. Truthfully, he has not used this much table manners since he was in Starfleet, but he believed at the moment trying to blend in was more important. The man smiled as he took a sip of his old style drink and gave a slight smile towards everyone at the table. Her joviality waned somewhat when the man who looked like Thomas Jett, and coincidentally was also Thomas Jett, approached their table and asked to sit. Since T'Laara had already answered his query, Charlie felt that it fell to her to do the necessary introductions. "New pals, may I introduce Thomas Jett. Civilian captain, wearer of purple undergarments, loser of ladies. Jett, this here is Left Ear, Shavan and T'Laara." She helpfully held up her empty glass so the handsome waiter could refill it for her. "Of all the gin joints in all the world..." She muttered at him, her eyes narrowed. Tom smiled at the sarcastic introduction and then lifted his glass. With a sort of self-deprecating humor, he lifted the glass as a sign to cheer them and responded . "Thank you for that kind introduction, Ms. Fox. However, in case any of the ladies were wondering. I am not wearing any purple garments this evening, as only certain individuals would be interested in my undergarments. I apologize if I disappoint, Miss Fox" Tom finished his introduction as he took a sort sip of his glass. As he looked at his drink, he could not help but remind of Felicity's brown hair. The mand turned stood for a second as his face was serious and then realized once again he was at a party. He needed to be charming once again, something he has not done in years. Smiling, he then looked at Fox and said "What brings you to this reaches of the quadrants? Ohhh…I am sorry I did not mean to intrude to this conversations, please pray tell what were you discussing previously" . Tom responded as he looked at the menu and the drink again. This time his mind could not help to wander for a second. *** [2 Weeks Ago – S.S. Falcon] Two weeks prior..."This isn't something you can help with, Tom." Her smile was there, and it did reach her eyes, but it was tinged with a sadness. Beneath the study table her hands clenched into fists as she tried to keep a lid on her emotions. Now was not the time to show weakness. Watery eyes or sad sobs would send a signal to him that she would not be able to take back, and so she steeled herself. "You know how these things work, sometimes. You of all people should understand." He had been right about many things; Captains didn't take time off, they didn't wear pretty dresses to garden parties and they didn't usually abandon their friends and family to disappear across the quadrant. "When this is over, we'll have a drink. We'll tell each other all of the things we might have wanted to say, but never did. You can even pull a pistol on me, for old time's sake."That brought a familiar grin, but then her eyes slid off the screen and away. She inhaled deeply and released a sigh. "Time's up. I need to go. Tom, Tom, look at me. I'm okay, but if you keep digging this hole, I might not be." The man laid in the bed for a second in pain as he heard her words. He would not try and interrupt her as he listened to what she said. Her words saying that he could not help but felt that he cut deeply. He understood as an officer, especially in wartime, it was not personal. However, the hurt was still the same. Instead of sitting in bed as it was recommended, Tom found the strength to walk to the monitor. They were distant, but at least for the camera and the viewscreen, they would appear to be closer. He would not let a poison or pain to detract his will. He then approached the viewscreen. He would not know if she could see it. But he observed that she was too in pain in the situation. Tom made another fake smile, trying to keep her spirits up and look down for a second. He felt his eyes tear up, but he did not want her to see it. He was silent for a short second as he knew time was short. He then looked at her with determined eyes. There was no pain, or sadness mostly a fire that he has not had for a while. If she did not see, he would have tried to put her hand on her cheek as he wanted. His thought was to try to kiss her forehead and comfort her. But he was away, and he could not do that. It was frustrating. He gathered what little strength remained in him. And took a risk by saying the following "I understand, Felicity. We are both struggling to make this universe and the Federation better. I want the same things as you. To help people, live in peace and to save lives. But I won't lie to you. A part of me wants to be with you. No matter the danger or the consequences. This is what I want to be with you and face the dangers of the galaxy together. However, what is essential is not ourself, and you and I think what is important is the Federation and the people that live with them. And…I will do that I need for that even though we might not see each other again. And the next words are not said lightly." . Tom stopped for a second as he gathered his thought. He took another second to compose himself as he wanted to finish what he wanted to say. He then mentioned "I know we need to say a thing, and I am a fool. I should have said this when I had the chance. Finally, there is something I need to tell you before we finish. That I love you, Felicity. I have loved you since we first meet your courage and your determination, strong will, and a strong woman. Ever since we pointed weapons each other. I wanted you to know that. Goodbye. “. The man did not need a response as he remained stoic and uplifting he could. He finished with a smile and a nod. She did not want him to search for him…., but he would not give up. He might see her again. No…I am confident I will. He thought to himself. He would not give up hope. *** [Present Day – Dining Table] Tom smiled and then stated "Y'know Miss Fox, we could have a hell of an evening. I might be a changed man" . Tom finished as he took a sip of his glass.

[Ozu Saya and Domen Kyo] It is, Saya answered, recovering her equilibrium somewhat. Slightly different in that the train was mostly just our means of transportation throughout Europe, much as it was in this era, rather than an event in itself. It was a fun trip, but trying at times. Ancient buildings in Europe were not made for people my height. I took the skin off my forehead more than once on low beams, Kyo said with a laugh. I'm a composer, actually. Or trying to be. I played with an orchestra for a number of years - an earth instrument called a bassoon and sometimes the Bajoran tivara. I decided that I wanted to try my hand at writing music, and that works much better to keep our family together. I've gotten a couple of pieces published, but it's a slow and temperamental field. [ Kova Sh'qaleq - Orient Express] Kova took another sip of her Rigellian drink. It was certainly helping matters, especially given that the happy couple thought Kova had any real interest in their romantic tales. Did the pair of them really think that they were a walking rom-com holonovel? Considering the cast, it was laughable at best. Either way, it seemed that they were more amused by the actual transport than spending time with one another. Kova took a long sip from her glass, hoping that it would some how speed time along. Kyo seemed to be infatuated with Saya, and that was a mystery in itself. He went around regaling in their journey to the point where he proclaimed himself an admitted clutz. How hard was ducking? He revealed that he was a composer, but from the sound of it, he seemed to be settling his career for Saya's sake. Typical Vulcan... finding a way to make the world revolve around them. She thought perhaps he'd wise up eventually, but the mention of a kid made it abundantly clear that he was at Saya's mercy for the foreseeable future. "Well, that's a shame," Kova remarked. "Maybe you can find some other musicians on the station, if you haven't already. Hold a few concerts. Surely, that's something the Commander would sign off on." It seemed like a human sentiment. "I knew someone that played the tivara before. Amazing instrument." And that was likely the extent of Kova's cultural contribution. It was getting close to time to flag Jack down for a refill.

[ Leanna - Orient Express] Whilst she could tell that Redd had enjoyed her reaction to his speech, it was clear that their host was loving the attention of having a bevvy of beauties around him. Not that she blamed him as she found him rather endearing now that she was getting to spend time in his company and he knew what he liked, which made all the difference to some of the men she had known. Perhaps that's why she was having fun and liking the compliments that were made towards her, because he didn't pussyfoot around. So as he engaged in conversation with Chloe directly, Lea continued to drink, feeling as though she could let loose and be more like her old self, something that hadn't seen the light ever since ... Another large sip and Lea was ready for a refill as Redd drew their attention to the first course that was about to be served. His praise for the servers drew an appreciative smile from their employer as they performed their duties as practised. They maybe great at what they did but for them to be accurate to the programme had involved several run through's with the holo waiters to ensure that everything went smoothly. " Bon Appetit" she responded, as she looked over the cured beef and knew she had chosen well, even if it was tempting to try everything again as she had during the run through. Although that didn't stop Leanna from snaffling the first bite, as her new drink appeared and she let out a small appreciative sigh. Her team had definitely outdone themselves as she ate more of the beef, before Eliska asked what a spa was and what a facial was in that context. Having visited the spa several times, especially when Flick was still on Front Ear, Leanna smiled and lowered her cutlery so she could answer. " It's a facility where people can go to relax without any interruptions and a facial is one of the treatments that they offer. They use different natural ingredients to cleanse and get rid of any impurities from your skin and I highly recommend it, along with the full body massage".************ [ Jack - Orient Express] Jack had done what he had promised and remained close to Kova should she need him, however when a certain Ms Charlie Fox, gestured for a refill by holding up her empty Champagne glass. The Irishman was in close proximity to her table, noting those present including the new arrival, someone he hadn't seen for a while. Offering Jett & Charlie a polite nod of acknowledgement, Jack expertly poured the Champagne filling Charlie's glass then stepped back, so they could continue their conversation.

[Chloe Hudson - Orient Express]
Reddington continued to lay on the charm, and although Chloe was still quite curious about the man she was beginning to relax more and enjoy the night. As the servers arrived and acted in unison Chloe was quite impressed having never quite seen servers act in such a manner. "Thank you," she said with a polite nod. Having never had what was in front of her before she observed and imitated how Reddington spread the caviar. "Oh if I were to tell you that, I'd have to kill you," she joked with a mischievous smile as he asked what her job was. After a moment she answered seriously. "I'm an analyst with Intelligence," she said, "It's far more boring than it sounds though. Not at all like the holonovels, of course." Eliska then asked about spa's and facials, the 'in this context' bit almost prompting a chuckle from Chloe. "We should take you. Is there one on Front Ear?" she asked looking between Eliska and Leanna.

[ Left Ear to-Ennien] Thank you, Left Ear said cheerfully to Shavan's agreement, either ignoring or missing his reserve. Since she wasn't familiar with his scent, it wasn't entirely surprising that she wouldn't realize that he was actually reluctant about the medical scans. She listened intently to Charlie's explanation of the dishes, commenting only, Yes, we eat dairy. When Charlie finished, Left Ear said, Thank you so much, and took a moment to look over the options again with her new knowledge before the waiter asked for her order. I'd like to try the caviar, and the stew, and just water to drink, please. When he moved on, she added, I love spicy food. We have a spice that we call tail-kinkers. It's fun to slip whole ones into someone's food for a joke. Her long, pink tongue darted out and swiped at her whiskers before disappearing behind sharp teeth. Oh, I love it! she told T'Laara eagerly. So many new experiences. They did an amazing job making the quarters we share as much like the outdoors as they could. There are lots of plants in pots and climbing structures with platforms and hammocks for different sleeping options. Vines across the ceiling and hanging down. It's much more comfortable than I expected to be. We have a few permanent structures on Sivao, but most of us live in large tents that can be easily struck to move to a new camp. It's a very different way of life here.[Charlie Fox - Orient Express, Dining Car]"That sounds interesting," Charlie said of the 'tail-kinkers' spice. "Is it safe for humans?" She didn't elaborate on whether she wanted to try it for herself, or slip it into someone else's food. The level of sound in the dining car diminished somewhat as conversations quieted. The host was in full swing, though Charlie managed to overhear Shavan's mutterings. "He's giving us APISS of his mind, alright," she quipped, then pressed her lips together in attempt to stop herself from laughing. She hid her giggles behind another generous drink from her champagne glass and ended up draining it, again. There was definitely a correlation between how quickly she was drinking, and how hilarious she thought she was. "Urine luck!" She declared, a little too loudly to be considered acceptable for polite company. Her joviality waned somewhat when the man who looked like Thomas Jett, and coincidentally was also Thomas Jett, approached their table and asked to sit. Although I have not altered them to such an extent.”Then Charlie introduced the newcomer as Thomas Jett. Clearly, they had an interesting history. Shavan returned the nod in greeting. "You're not." he replied to whether he was interrupting. “Greetings. How do you know each other?” asked T'Laara. Whereas Shavan was imagining the purple undergarments anyway. “Only ladies?” he asked teasingly. The food arrived. Shavan used the opportunity to take another drink. T’Laara sipped her champagne more slowly, watching as the food was laid out, and replied to the question of where she was from. “I was raised on Earth. Presently I am here on Front Ear for a research project on Kerelia. So is Left Ear, as we were just beginning to discuss.”

Responding to T'Laara, she went on, They did a lot of it before any of us arrived to help make us more comfortable. Since we won't be able to live on the planet for awhile longer, it's very much appreciated. I understand your holodecks do a really good job of creating even the smells of nature, but I haven't had a chance to try it out.Left Ear dipped her head at the newcomer, her nose and whiskers twitching as the waiters brought their food and served it. Hello, she said distractedly as the salty smell of the caviar drew her nose close to her plate.
Tag Charlie Fox, Shavan Th'zhaar and Thomas Jett[ Melihn Ryah - Orient Express] Ryah found herself with a massive grin, and slightly misty eyes, at the big security officer's reaction to the news of his promotion. For real, she said, cheeks starting to hurt with her smile. Oh! I'm not going anywere. It'll be a small step down and laterally. I'll assist aboard the station, but also spend some more time aboard the Mac. They asked me if I wanted a different posting as a CoS, but it was never about that for me. I'd rather let someone else who's done the work and training for command get the well-deserved promotion. I was always more of a grunt. One of those non-coms who got promoted into command positions because they were desperate for people during the war. I hated the job, she added in a whisper, leaning forward. I've already cleared out the office, so you can move in whenever you're ready.

The waiter had come about and he ordered the pastrima starter, the Chicken Terragon main, and the cheese plate for afters. With a glass of white wine to accompany the meal and a cup of black coffee. "I had no idea you hated the job. You were always so good at it. And kind. Thoughtful. But tough when you needed to be. You ran the op to shut down that criminal ring. I've always admired you for that."
He really didn't want to talk to much about work. They were here for the fun. "What do you think of the express?" he said looking about at all the opulence. Tag Ozu Saya [ Melihn Ryah - Orient Express] Ryah smiled again and patted the big man's arm as she put in her order and gave Sven a moment to recover his equilibrium. I go where I'm sent and do the job that I'm told, within reason, she added mischievously. This is beautiful, Ryah answered, looking around herself. When I did some research for appropriate clothing I was a little unsure about going all out, but it seems fun and I do love this dress. She grinned at Sven. What made you decide to come? And I didn't mean to separate you from Eliska if you want to go join her. If there's room at that table. Ryah had to lean sideways to catch a glimpse of the other security officer sitting with the group of women and the MC.
Tag Sven Aune[ Alec and Aryn Trenzal] Alec and Aryn gave the waiter their orders before Alec responded to Doug's caution about the assistant CMO. Thanks for the warning, he said with a grin. We'll get in touch with Dr. Baker in the next few days to see about a check-up. You make me curious what could be wrong with this Dr. Lunn, he added with a chuckle. Aryn gasped and winced suddenly, holding her breath and pressing on a spot on her belly for several seconds. I think that was an elbow in my diaphragm, she said when she could breathe again. That's the main reason I'm not going to make it three more months, there is just no more room for them to grow.
So how did you end up out here? I'm so surprised to meet another El-Aurian. You're only the fourth? She glanced at Alec then said, No, fifth I've ever met. [Sir Dugris "Doug" Zaman, MBE, PhD, JD, MBA, PE, RA - Orient Express]Sir Doug chuckled in a slightly embarrassed manner. "I used to be posted here, as the Chief of Science, but circumstances led me to resign. The PooDoo flu outbreak of 2378, on Cait, specifically," he explained. PooDoo walked out onto the table, hearing her name (and that of her species). She had a distinct strut, bushy tail raised high. "In case you were wondering, this is a PooDoo. They're native to Kerelia, and very formidable when threatened," Sir Doug added, stroking the little creature's fluffy back. "Anyway, I'm surprised you've met so few of our people. Even despite everything, we're... around, I'd think," he inquired. This was surprising.
Tag Ozu Saya [ Alec and Aryn Trenzal] Alec nodded in understanding at Doug's story and said, I served in Starfleet, too, about a hundred years ago, for about 30 years. Once I got into command, I lost my interest, desire, whatever you want to call it. Resigned over a dispute about rendering medical aid to a nominally pre-warp society.Starfleet has its reasons for those rules, but sometimes they should be broken, Aryn said. And the reason I've met so few of our people is that I'm only a hundred and 114 years old. My mother was pregnant with me when the Borg attack on the homeworld happened. She was one of those rescued by Starfleet. In her grief over the loss of my father, my mother isolated herself. By the time I was born and she started to come out of her fugue, she'd lost track of the others that were rescued with her. Aryn offered a slight shrug, and lifted a hand toward PooDoo, keeping it well back as she asked, Will she let me pet her?Alec glared at his wife's offering her hand to an unknown, potentially dangerous animal.
Tag Dugris Zaman[Ozu Saya and Domen Kyo] It is, Saya answered, recovering her equilibrium somewhat.
Tag: Ozu Saya (& Kyo) [ [Ozu Saya and Domen Kyo] We should ask Judy about putting something formal together, Kyo said. But I don't really miss performing in front of crowds. Judy, Saya and I play together a lot, and I've started teaching Evekh, our son.I'm glad you like the tivara. It's still one of my favorite instruments to hear or play, though the bassoon is fun, and I actually enjoy the reactions I get from people who have never seen one before. It's an odd-looking instrument.Just then waiters surrounded their table and set appetizers in front of everyone. Saya sniffed appreciatively and said, That smells amazing.
What sort of music do you like? she asked Kova before taking her first bite.

[Present Day – Dining Cart – Orient Express] Tom was dazed for a second as his mind wandered in the past. *** [Present Day – Dining Table] Tom smiled and then stated "Y'know Miss Fox, we could have a hell of an evening. I might be a changed man" . Tom finished as he took a sip of his glass. [ Shavan & T’Laara - Orient Express] Shavan snickered at Charlie’s joke. Meanwhile T’Laara listened as Left Ear eagerly explained about her accommodations and lifestyle. “I imagine it must be. I have also decorated my quarters with items from nature. So is Left Ear, as we were just beginning to discuss.”[ Left Ear to-Ennien] Yes, humans can eat them, Left Ear answered Charlie. Even whole ones, though I think that humans have as much variation in tolerance for such things as my people do. EnsignPavelAndreievichChekov pulled CaptainJamesTKirk's tail by putting some whole tail-kinkers in a stew he made. When he first tried one, EnsignPavelAndreievichChekov said, 'Well, if I hed a tail, it would hev a kink by now![fn]Quote from the ST novel Uhura's Song[/fn] This was said not only in Federation Standard but with a passable Russian accent as if she were quoting Chekov directly. [Charlie Fox - Orient Express, Dining Car]Charlie found her curious gaze resting on Left Ear as the Sivaoan told a story about legends of old. At the impression she let out a snort of amusement, and then nodded her thanks to the Handsome Jack when he'd dutifully topped up her champagne. "If you have some time to spare over the next few weeks, Left Ear, I'd love to hear more of your stories for a FNN piece." She brought her glass to her lips and allowed her eyes to wander as the conversation around them evolved. She hoped that Left Ear would take her up on it, but would understand if she didn't. One of the reasons for attending the event was to network, after all, and she was doing a stand up job of that. If I do say so myself."We met on Torros III," Charlie provided when T'Laara inquired as to how she and Thomas Jett knew each other. "I was there undercover, trying to find out what had happened to a couple of girls who'd been taken in Federation space, and then sold into a slave ring. Captain Hero here happened upon me having an animated conversation with a mark, and decided he needed to "rescue" me." She said it complete with air quotes, and rolled her eyes. "Six months of work - POOF!"When he claimed he was a changed man, she laughed. "Sure, sure, Jett." She leaned in a little closer to Shavan and stage-whispered, "I doubt he's even changed his purple underwear." Charlie shook her head and decided to focus her attention on her food, which would line her stomach and perhaps tighten up her very loosened tongue.
Tags: Shavan Th'zhaar , Ozu Saya , Thomas Jett *** [Present Day – Dining Cart – Orient Express] [2 Weeks Ago – S.S. Falcon] The man laid in the bed for a second in pain as he heard her words. [Felicity Ellis - Study, Unknown]Two weeks prior...Felicity's chest was tightening. She could feel a heavy weight descend upon her as the burden of unexpressed emotion and feeling wrapped around her like a vice. "This won't be forever," she said softly, her voice low with emotion, but carrying with it a promise. He was far away. In truth, he'd always be far away, even when he was within touching distance. It was the nature of the man and his mission, and while there existed a deep connection between them, something she perhaps would never completely understand or experience again, she knew their stars would not align for quite some time. She bit her bottom lip, while her nails dug into the palms of her fisted hands. Her eyes watered but by her sheer stubbornness, no tears fell. "I will see you soon."Then he was gone, and she was swiping at her wet cheeks. She took a moment, for that was all she was allowed, smoothed back her hair, and left the study to rejoin the party.

Offer her your hand, like you are, and she'll decide if she's interested," Sir Doug explained PooDoo's preferences. "PooDoos a little like a Terran cat, but even more mercurial."PooDoo gently sniffed at the offered hand, and then screamed. However, the scream wasn't hostile in pitch, more of an announcement that she was PooDoo and she was here. "I actually have a group of El-Aurians that I'm in touch with, about six of us in all," he added, to her previous point. "We meet up now and again at some casino, to talk. We've met about twice since the war, I think. I can introduce you."There was a group chat, too. They were all still in touch, and well aware of the latest subspace technology. "Admittedly, I've been married to two of the group members."

[Brack - Top Table, Dining Cart, Orient Express]"What an insufferable blowhard!" Brack the Legendary declared of Benjamin J. Reddington to anyone who might be listening. "Who does he think he is, making speeches like that, the Negus himself? Pah!" Brack was the most powerful and influential business owner on the station, the spotlight and applause should he his. Presenting the awards should have fallen to him, but no, he'd been outvoted. They were all speciesist, that's what! "He hasn't even announced the first award yet. And what is he planning on doing with all of those fee-males?" Feeling ignored and requiring more validation, the Ferengi owner of the Twilight Hotel & Casino, jewel of Front Ear stood and waddled over toward the podium. He tapped several times on the old-fashioned microphone. "Is this on? Hello?"That certainly got the attention of his colleagues on the APISS board. A few anxious expressions turned toward him and he sneered. "Some of us have businesses to run and profit to make, so let's get this started. You hoom-ons waffle entirely too much for my taste. Time is latinum!"He squinted out at the dining cart, filled with attractive beings all dressed up and trapped on this stupid train. "First up is the Contribution to the Arts award, whatever that means," he broke, placed his hand over the microphone and asked of his peers, loudly, "What does that even mean?" When nobody answered immediately, he waved them off. "This award goes to..." He built suspense without intending to as he glared at the paper envelope, trying to figure it out. Finally, with a wet-sounding snort, he lost patience and ripped it open with his teeth. The card inside was torn in the process, but he could just about make out some of the letters printed on it.
[Benjamin J. "Redd" Reddington - Orient Express]Reddington's bushy grey brows raised with interest as the young Chloe Hudson mentioned that she was in intelligence, and he chuckled at her spy joke. "Well, that sounds much more exciting than finance." He enjoyed his work; he had a flair and talent for seeing things others often did not when it came to numbers and trends, but it was hardly action-packed. Unless one counted his arrest and subsequent correctional facility sojourn. "I bet you have a story or two, Miss Hudson. I'd -" He broke off rather abruptly when the loud thumping sound on the microphone interrupted their very civilised chatting. "It's all gone to hell in a shopping basket," the man muttered as the Ferengi took it upon himself to get the awards started. Inwardly he was furious, but on the outside he was the picture of calm. When he corrected Brack's mispronunciation of Miss Jem Sparkles' name, he hurriedly stood. He placed his napkin on the table and began a round of enthusiastic applause. "Well-deserved! Jolly well done, Miss Sparkles!" He boomed, trying in his own way to make up for Brack's awful behaviour.

Tag: Leanna Mazal [ Miss Jem Sparkles - Orient Express] The drinks were flowing and as usual Jeffy and his more outrageous alter ego were thoroughly enjoying the alcohol and entertaining their immediate company. Relishing in the attention and slight adoration from fans especially the men as Leanna's staff kept her topped up with Champagne and her favourite tipple of vodka neat with a lemon twist. Although that hadn't stopped Jem from observing the goings on in the vicinity of her table, her niece the main focus of her observations and how she was dealing with the evenings festivities. To say that she wasn't concerned well she would of been lying despite her protestations and encouragement for her to attend. However it seemed that Leanna was having fun and making the most of the attention that she was getting. Now that's what I like to see you having fun & you can thank me later There was something to be said about the freedom of telepathic conversations as Leanna responded to her, before Brack got to his feet after making his objections and feelings known about Reddington. " Personally I find him charming" Jem remarked to whoever was listening, then took a sip of her drink, ignoring the feedback caused by the Ferengi's tapping of the microphone. Smiling as one did as she focused on Brack, wondering who the winner would be, until she inched forward to hear him better, after he had ripped the card he was supposed to be reading from. Amateurs she thought to herself, until she was caught off guard thanks to Reddington helping Brack by revealing that she was the winner. So without further adieu Jem got to her feet, keen to accept her award and make a speech worthy of her audience. However didn't rush and took her time to reach the Ferengi, being deliberate on purpose, although resisted the urge to touch his lobes as she turned to face the gathered masses. " This is such an honour to receive this award, I'd like to take the time to thank my fans and those who voted for me. Without you there would be no Jem Sparkles and I will cherish this moment forever. I will give this award a special place in my collection and oh yes how can I forget my niece Leanna for not only her support but also the opportunity to make Front Ear my base of operations for the next six months ... I love you little one, in fact I love you all".

They use different natural ingredients to cleanse and get rid of any impurities from your skin and I highly recommend it, along with the full body massage".

[ Cwm Eliska Bremmer - Orient Express ]There were times when Eliska found herself faced with a language barrier, and this had been one of them. However, between the explanations given by Leanna and Chloe, she nodded, her face radiating understanding. "Oh, so like a bathhouse? Those we do have back on Nova Kosice; they are very much a social center for us, have been since the founding of the colony, and it's said they were the same for our ancestors back in the Old Country."Then, she grinned. The idea of getting pampered was one that was somewhat alien to the Crewman, particularly if going in alone, but given that Chloe was suggesting going as a group, then that was entirely different. "Then perhaps we should try to make it work in our respective schedules? There has to be one on the Station, if there is a voucher in the swag bag, no?"Then, she looked towards the front of the car, where awards were being presented, trying not to laugh at the Ferengi as he stumbled on the first recipient's name.

[ Leanna - Orient Express] At Chloe's suggestion of them taking Eliska to the spa and asking if there was one on the station after answering Redd about her job. Leanna thought that was a great idea, especially since the Serenity Day Spa had opened a branch on Front Ear, bringing one of her special go to places within an easier reach. Okay there would be one very important person missing in the form of her best friend, but introducing Eliska and Chloe to the spa's facilities sounded like it would be a lot of fun and a chance for them to get to know one another better. When Eliska then made a reference to the bathhouses back on Nova Kosice in response to her description of the spa, Leanna smiled as it did sound very familiar to what she had experienced, especially the social aspect of it. It also appeared that the security officer was keen to try it out as she mentioned making the trip work with their schedules and also enquired about one being on the station. " We definitely need to organise a pamper day and yes, there's a branch here on the Promenade, I love the one on Argellia Nine but this is just as good" Lea replied, as Redd then responded to Chloe before Lea spoke with Jeffy via their link and everyone's attention was called to Brack as the awards ceremony got underway. Brack was Brack and as Ferengi's went, he was pleasant enough despite his griping and tapping at the microphone. That made her wince slightly but that didn't last long as Jeffy was named the recipient of the first award, with some help from Redd. Leanna beamed her thanks to Redd for stepping in and then joined in with the applause, clapping loudly as her Uncle gave his acceptance speech and she received a mention.

[Alex Graham-Orient Express] Alex was running a bit late he had to find the perfect suit to wear to such a formal dinner. After taking some time to look he found the perfect black suit to wear. He got dressed into the suit and grabbed his invitation so that he could join the rest of the group as he entered the train. This was going to be an interesting evening as things got started especially since he was by himself without a plus one. It was going to be good to know who the elite high society people were on the train as well as who the other people were. He grabbed a glass of champagne as he quietly made his way to the table. “Hello everyone you all look amazing.” Soft tag to all [ Imahl Shahal - Orient Express] In his quest for a table with people he could tolerate, Imahl found himself standing next to a very dapper looking young gentleman seated at a table. Imahl found the whole dressing up aspect of the event rather ridiculous; he wore nice clothes, certainly, but only slightly formal wear in the Bajoran fashion. He'd combed his short hair flat and shined his earring, the only other concession's he'd made to looking nice. He eyed the young man, then said gruffly, Mind if I join you? Least until this thing starts? I think I'm supposed to be over there somewhere. He gestured vaguely in the direction of where some of the other promenade business owners were sitting.

[ Shavan & T’Laara - Orient Express] “Well then, you’re in the right place. I’m Shavan.” Shavan replied to Charlie’s introduction. “I am T’Laara.”He turned to address the Sivaoan’s comment. “It’s fine. I’m Orion. And… Andorian.” He said the last word somewhat distractedly. Speaking of Andorians, the crowd had parted, and Shavan finally noticed Kova across the room- looking very beautiful, and very pissed off. Even more so than usual. Unbothered by her icy glare, he smirked in her direction. And wondered if he would have the chance to catch up with her later. T’Laara offered no judgment to Shavan’s statement, as one couldn’t help being born half Andorian any more than one could help being born a slug. And this one seemed interesting. Instead she answered the question about species herself. “Yes, I am Vulcan. And the shape of our ears is one way to tell us apart from humans.” She absently tucked a strand of long dark brown hair behind one of said ears. “As for touch, it is not Vulcan custom to engage in excessive physical contact.” Eyeing her, Shavan thought that to be a shame. T’Laara looked at the Sivaoan curiously. “You’re a healer? Are you here to assist with the projects on Kerelia? I am here to study the flora on the planet. Maybe we will see more of each other in the future.”
Shavan wasn’t here to talk about work. He downed his drink and reached for another. And appreciated the fact that Charlie seemed to be thinking along the same lines. But then the train started running. “Perhaps we should find a table.” T’Laara suggested to her new acquaintances, and moved to find a seat. Tag Charlie Fox & Ozu Saya Soft Tag Kova Sh'qaleq [Charlie Fox - Orient Express, Dining Car]Charlie nodded while she snared another glass, pleased to meet the pair. She sipped with some speed, listening to the exchange between the Sivaoan and the Vulcan as her eyes roamed the car, trying to keep Bennett in sight while gauging who else she should be adding to the AVOID list. She felt no need to intrude again on the group's discussion; the curious cat-like guest seemed interested mostly in speaking with T'Laara, anyway. So when it was suggested they find a table, she found herself moving back toward the center of the room. "Yes, lets, before we end up at the harem end of the table," she suggested, gesturing toward Reddington's area. By the time she'd taken her seat she'd drained her second drink. "Another please!" She asked of the entirely too good-looking waiter. There were far too many sexy tuxedoed men, she thought, for them to be anything but holographic. "Oh yeah, the food..." At the server's gentle reminder she picked up the menu and squinted at it. "The Pastirma, definitely..." She wondered if it would be totally gauche to ask for one of everything... "And the stew, please. Thank you." She grinned broadly at the man, before adding, "And the champagne."
Tags, softs: Shavan Th'zhaar , Ozu Saya , anyone nearby at the table. [ Left Ear to-Ennien] Left Ear's ears swiveled, picking up the conversation she was involved in as well as pieces of those occurring at the tables around theirs. Her nose wrinkled slightly at the smell of the alcohol many of the other guests were drinking, but she knew she'd have to just tolerate it if she was going to stay for the event. And all of these different people were fascinating enough to take her mind off of it. The artificial environment was so real, too! She'd never have guessed it wasn't real if she hadn't known. She sat in one of the chairs (a little tall for her comfort) with her tail dangling down one side to trail on the floor behind her. Left Ear arched her whiskers again at Shavan and said, Thank you for answering my questions. I'd like to speak to you more, maybe even take some medical scans, if you'd permit, later. I'd like to learn as much as I can about the crew who might end up on Kerelia.
Oh, yes, she said eagerly, shifting her attention to the Vulcan. One of our healers came with the initial group, but I was so excited about the idea of meeting different species, so I came, too.Left Ear noticed Charlie picking up the menu and looked at it herself. She could read the words, but none of them meant a thing to her. She'd tried a few dishes from the replicator, but none of those things was listed. Would you help me choose something? she asked the reporter. I don't know what any of it is. Except for alcohol, I'll eat anything a human does, or at least try it. Her tail raise into a corkscrew again.

[ Kova Sh'qaleq - Orient Express] Kova found herself greeted pleasantly enough by the Bajoran male. He seemed completely oblivious to the affront of the walking contradiction sitting next to him. In fact, it was a puzzle that Kova had yet to figure out. The Bajoran were a passionate and deeply spiritual people. How in the cosmos had that woman reconciled those two differences? How was it possible for her to uphold logic and worship the prophets? Or were they simply 'wormhole aliens' to her? These were only a few of questions that had begun to plague Kova's mind where Saya was concerned. And then she spoke. Greeting her coyly as if she didn't really know who Kova was. The Andorian's eyes narrowed slightly, as she replied. "Yes, I am Kova," she stated flatly. Kova could hear the condescension in her words. 'Heard of some of her work?' As if it were to be written off as the project of some failing freshman at Starfleet Academy. Did she really expect Kova to just sit here and listen to this? And sober no less? Where the hell was that Irishman with her drink?! "And your are the illustrious Chief Ozu Saya," Kova replied. "They sing your praises akin to Montgomery Scott and Miles O'Brien." Kova smiled with just a hint of sarcasm. Because this woman sure as hell was no Miles O'Brien. "This is your husband, I take it?" Kova wondered if there'd be any sort of affection in the woman's tone when she spoke of the man that she supposedly loved. Perhaps the Bajoran in her could spare some sort of spark. Or maybe it was just a raging inferno every seven years.... She motioned to the waiter that was taking orders and made it known that she wanted the Red Pepper Rollatini and the Mediterranean Vegetable Stew. It seemed to be among the few items on the menu that seemed palatable. Leave it to humans to be so self-centered that they didn't consider other cultures when entertaining. First the booze and now the food. This had the makings of a long night. From across the room, she noticed Shavan give her a small smile of acknowledgement. A smile, while he paraded around with his shiny little Vulcan. To mate once every seven years, they certainly seemed to be multiplying from everywhere all of a sudden.
Tag: Ozu Saya (& Kyo) Soft Tag: Shavan Th'zhaar [Ozu Saya and Domen Kyo] Saya flushed slightly, her face going a light shade of green. She'd certainly flubbed that. She'd meant to be respectful, unsure how open the Andorian was with the work she did for Starfleet. They shared some similar skills with computers that were better not necessarily spoken of openly. I don't consider myself at anything like their level of skill and experience, she said quietly. Kyo rescued her from having to say anything else for the moment by, putting his arm around her shoulder and leaning a little closer to ask Kova, What brings you out tonight? He gave Saya a little squeeze, which caused her to glance over her shoulder and smile at him, relieving her embarrassment. One of our first trips together was on the real Orient Express with Judy, actually. So this was a nice opportunity for a special night out for us.

[Sir Dugris "Doug" Zaman, MBE, PhD, JD, MBA, PE, RA - ]Sir Doug's eyes seemed to pop behind his glasses. Triplets! This was remarkable. For some species it was normal to have litters, but El-Aurians normally only carried one child at a time. This, coupled with the fact that their species had a naturally low birthrate, and had recently been decimated, led Doug to think that these could be the first triplets of their species born since the attack on their homeworld. "It's not every day you hear about El-Aurian triplets. Or every decade, for that matter," he toned down his sentiment. "Congratulations."Naturally, this led him to another thought. Sure, their people's excellent institutions of learning (though they were not so excellent in the mind of a younger Dugris Zaman) were gone, but this was hardly the classic place to raise a family. "What brought you, and them, out here?" he asked.
Tag Ozu Saya [ Alec and Aryn Trenzal] Indeed, Alec said with feeling. And thank you. We're thrilled and terrified.
We mainly came out here to be somewhere relatively safe and out of the way, but still with access to good medical facilities. I've been a doctor in various fields for most of my life, so I've spent the time since we found out brushing up on my obstetrics, and more specifically on multiple births and birth complications since we learned it was triplets. I haven't spoken with the CMO here yet, but I'm prepared to deliver them myself if I have to.Aryn patted his leg again before moving her hand to stroke over her belly. I'm a linguist, and this area has a variety of cultures that I'm interested in. But I also wanted more of an occupation to work at instead of just research. Alec's taking a medical sabbatical, barring emergencies where he can help, to help run the bookshop, especially once the babies are born, though we're probably going to have to hire some help to, both for the shop and the babies.
Eesh, I'm hungry, she said suddenly leaning forward to peer at the menu. Oh, I want it all!
Okay, the pastirma, the shrimp...no chicken...no shrimp, definitely shrimp, and the creme brulee.Alec chuckled and said, I'll get different things and you can sample from mine.
Tag Dugris Zaman[Alex Graham-Orient Express] ”Oh of course I don't mind if you joined me.” It seemed to him that Imahl had another place that he needed to be so he wasn't too worried about how long he would be at the table. He wasn't a fan of dressing up in formal wear often but he did it when there was important events that he needed to attend. He saw where the other business owners were sitting. From what he saw they were all looking so prim and proper. Throughout his Starfleet career he hadn't seen or met yet any distinguished business owners until now. Tag: Ozu Saya (Imahl Shahal)

[Chloe Hudson - Orient Express]
Chloe was pleased Eliska and Lea were interested in her suggestion. "Great! I can bully Harmon into changing my schedule easy enough, so whatever works best for you two."
She noticed Redd's eyebrows raise when she mentioned her occupation and wondered what was going on through his head. Was it just innocent curiosity? Or something else? Chloe again realised she was perhaps overthinking things again and so began to try and focus on an answer to his question about stories. Fortunately, she was saved as the Ferengi got up forcing Redd to try and regain control of the situation. She smiled and clapped along with Lea as the winner was presented.
