| Orient Express || lt. cmdr Sven Aune | Sven's eyes were a bit misty. "I had no idea." he said quietly. "I...thank you." he said. The waiter had come about and he ordered the pastrima starter, the Chicken Terragon main, and the cheese plate for afters. With a glass of white wine to accompany the meal and a cup of black coffee. "I had no idea you hated the job. You were always so good at it. And kind. Thoughtful. But tough when you needed to be. You ran the op to shut down that criminal ring. I've always admired you for that."
He really didn't want to talk to much about work. They were here for the fun. "What do you think of the express?" he said looking about at all the opulence. Tag Ozu Saya [ Melihn Ryah - Orient Express] Ryah smiled again and patted the big man's arm as she put in her order and gave Sven a moment to recover his equilibrium. I go where I'm sent and do the job that I'm told, within reason, she added mischievously. This is beautiful, Ryah answered, looking around herself. When I did some research for appropriate clothing I was a little unsure about going all out, but it seems fun and I do love this dress. She grinned at Sven. What made you decide to come? And I didn't mean to separate you from Eliska if you want to go join her. If there's room at that table. Ryah had to lean sideways to catch a glimpse of the other security officer sitting with the group of women and the MC. |Orient Express || lt. cmdr. Sven Aune|Sven had a chuckle to her impish side. "I suppose that's what we all do." he glanced around the car again. "Well, to be honest, things aren't going so well on the home front, you know. So I was persuaded to do this shin-dig. And to bring Bremmer with me. She looks like she's enjoying the attention of the letch. You know, he just recently was released from the slam." he said rhetorically. Knowing full well that Ryah knew these details as well. "How in the world did he end up emceeing this?" And that was a worthy question to be answered. But he also had the secret brothel issue on his plate. Trying to catch that man. "This really is fancy. More fancy than anything I would normally do. I was persuaded to come. Xander said he needed some time. I think it's just a matter of time before we break up to be honest." he said with a sigh. Then the head of the committee, a squat little Ferangi, with shrewd eyes spoke. It was clear that he held little regard for anything that didn't turn latinum. Typical Ferengi. He watched as Jem took the arts prize. He wasn't sure why there was a prize for art given that this was a business gathering. It didn't really matter. I took a pair of flutes filled with sparkling white wine (because it's only Champaign if it comes from the Champaign providence in France and they were like, a zillion light years away from there.) and handed on to Rayh. "To a safe station and prosperous promenade." he said only to her Tag Ozu Saya

[Benjamin J. "Redd" Reddington - Orient Express]
"My dear boy, are you quite alright?" Benjamin J. Reddington briefly paused in his applause for Miss Jem Sparkles to reach out toward one of their servers, his expression concerned. The young man's pallor was death-like, and he was dangerously unsteady on his feet. "Take a seat, here..." Redd stepped to the side and away from his chair, and then offered an arm to the once-smart waiter to assist.
Before Redd could steady him, the man's eyes rolled up into the back of his head and he fell, face-first, into a tray carrying bowls of the Mediterranean stew. For several heavy, shocked moments he seemed suspended there, then he slid unceremoniously to the ground, pulling the main courses with him.
A distinctly feminine scream sounded from the next car over. The music stopped, Brack resembled a deer caught in some warp core lights, and Reddington was at a loss for words.

Tags: all. [Charlie Fox - Orient Express, Dining Car]Charlie found her curious gaze resting on Left Ear as the Sivaoan told a story about legends of old. At the impression she let out a snort of amusement, and then nodded her thanks to the Handsome Jack when he'd dutifully topped up her champagne. "If you have some time to spare over the next few weeks, Left Ear, I'd love to hear more of your stories for a FNN piece." She brought her glass to her lips and allowed her eyes to wander as the conversation around them evolved. She hoped that Left Ear would take her up on it, but would understand if she didn't. One of the reasons for attending the event was to network, after all, and she was doing a stand up job of that. If I do say so myself."We met on Torros III," Charlie provided when T'Laara inquired as to how she and Thomas Jett knew each other. "I was there undercover, trying to find out what had happened to a couple of girls who'd been taken in Federation space, and then sold into a slave ring. Captain Hero here happened upon me having an animated conversation with a mark, and decided he needed to "rescue" me." She said it complete with air quotes, and rolled her eyes. "Six months of work - POOF!"When he claimed he was a changed man, she laughed. "Sure, sure, Jett." She leaned in a little closer to Shavan and stage-whispered, "I doubt he's even changed his purple underwear." Charlie shook her head and decided to focus her attention on her food, which would line her stomach and perhaps tighten up her very loosened tongue.

But telling stories, that was something she knew. I would be happy to tell you more stories, she said earnestly. But what is an effennenn? With another sniff at her plate, Left Ear picked up a spoon and scooped up a small mound of the tiny, salty spheres, popping them into her mouth. Mmm! she said in surprise as the flavor exploded across her tongue. She looked up to listen as people began speaking at the front and set down her spoon to copy the others when they clapped. These award things were not really something that she understood, either. Sivaoans would award merit, but she didn't understand what these were for. Then there was some commotion, and Left Ear's ears flattened against her head as she looked over to where someone had collapsed.
Tag Charlie Fox[ Alec and Aryn Trenzal] Alec nodded in understanding at Doug's story and said, I served in Starfleet, too, about a hundred years ago, for about 30 years. Once I got into command, I lost my interest, desire, whatever you want to call it. Resigned over a dispute about rendering medical aid to a nominally pre-warp society.Starfleet has its reasons for those rules, but sometimes they should be broken, Aryn said. And the reason I've met so few of our people is that I'm only a hundred and 114 years old. My mother was pregnant with me when the Borg attack on the homeworld happened. She was one of those rescued by Starfleet. In her grief over the loss of my father, my mother isolated herself. By the time I was born and she started to come out of her fugue, she'd lost track of the others that were rescued with her. Aryn offered a slight shrug, and lifted a hand toward PooDoo, keeping it well back as she asked, Will she let me pet her?Alec glared at his wife's offering her hand to an unknown, potentially dangerous animal. [Sir Dugris "Doug" Zaman, MBE, PhD, JD, MBA, PE, RA - Orient Express]"You have to invite her. Offer her your hand, like you are, and she'll decide if she's interested," Sir Doug explained PooDoo's preferences. "PooDoos a little like a Terran cat, but even more mercurial."PooDoo gently sniffed at the offered hand, and then screamed. However, the scream wasn't hostile in pitch, more of an announcement that she was PooDoo and she was here. "I actually have a group of El-Aurians that I'm in touch with, about six of us in all," he added, to her previous point. "We meet up now and again at some casino, to talk. We've met about twice since the war, I think. I can introduce you."There was a group chat, too. They were all still in touch, and well aware of the latest subspace technology. "Admittedly, I've been married to two of the group members."
Tag Ozu Saya [ Alec and Aryn Trenzal] Aryn smiled and stretched a little closer to PooDoo so that she could sniff without coming too close. She jumped slightly at the scream, but kept her hand steady. Oh, I'd love to have the chance to get to know more of our people! Could we join you the next time you meet? I'd appreciate the opportunity as well, Alec put in as their appetizers arrived. I stopped traveling so much about 20 years ago, so I hadn't met any other El-Aurians in years before Aryn and I met.Aryn pulled back her hand from the feline and dove into her food ravenously, getting a few bites down before slowing to a more moderate pace. Alec smiled and shook his head at her, feeling ever so slightly bad that it was partly his fault that she was in such a state. They both chuckled at the Ferengi taking over the mic and clapped as the first award was awkwardly announced. What's going on over there? Alec asked suddenly, half-rising from his chair, immediately falling into doctor mode at the hint of trouble.
Tag Dugris Zaman[ Imahl Shahal - Orient Express] In his quest for a table with people he could tolerate, Imahl found himself standing next to a very dapper looking young gentleman seated at a table. Imahl found the whole dressing up aspect of the event rather ridiculous; he wore nice clothes, certainly, but only slightly formal wear in the Bajoran fashion. He'd combed his short hair flat and shined his earring, the only other concessions he'd made to looking nice. He eyed the young man, then said gruffly, Mind if I join you? Least until this thing starts? I think I'm supposed to be over there somewhere. He gestured vaguely in the direction of where some of the other promenade business owners were sitting.
Tag Alex Graham[Alex Graham-Orient Express] ”Oh of course I don't mind if you joined me.” It seemed to him that Imahl had another place that he needed to be so he wasn't too worried about how long he would be at the table. He wasn't a fan of dressing up in formal wear often but he did it when there was important events that he needed to attend. He saw where the other business owners were sitting. From what he saw they were all looking so prim and proper. Throughout his Starfleet career he hadn't seen or met yet any distinguished business owners until now. Tag: Ozu Saya (Imahl Shahal) [ Imahl Shahal - Orient Express] Thanks, Imahl said gruffly and sat. After ordering and receiving his appetizer, the Bajoran rolled his eyes at Breck, but politely slapped the back of his right hand against the palm of his left along with the others' clapping. That Ferengi is ridi- Imahl started to say, but was distracted by the sudden noise and abrupt movement at Redd's table. What is going on over there?

I'm sorry, she said, patting Sven's arm again. I hope you can work things out. It's a good place to forget about things for a while. She gestured around them. She accepted the flute and tapped it against his, raising it in salute before taking a sip. The sudden silence made her set down the glass and look around, then stand when she realized something was wrong near the stage. Well, she said wryly. We may not be getting the night off after all. Let's go see what's wrong.

[ Left Ear to-Ennien] Yes, humans can eat them, Left Ear answered Charlie. Even whole ones, though I think that humans have as much variation in tolerance for such things as my people do. EnsignPavelAndreievichChekov pulled CaptainJamesTKirk's tail by putting some whole tail-kinkers in a stew he made. When he first tried one, EnsignPavelAndreievichChekov said, 'Well, if I hed a tail, it would hev a kink by now![fn]Quote from the ST novel Uhura's Song[/fn] This was said not only in Federation Standard but with a passable Russian accent as if she were quoting Chekov directly. Responding to T'Laara, she went on, They did a lot of it before any of us arrived to help make us more comfortable. Since we won't be able to live on the planet for awhile longer, it's very much appreciated. I understand your holodecks do a really good job of creating even the smells of nature, but I haven't had a chance to try it out.Left Ear dipped her head at the newcomer, her nose and whiskers twitching as the waiters brought their food and served it. Hello, she said distractedly as the salty smell of the caviar drew her nose close to her plate. There are few limits as to the type of environment that can be created.” T’Laara replied to Left Ear. “What other programs would you like to try?” As Left Ear went on to try the food she also took a few bites. She and Shavan listened to Charlie’s explanation of how she met Thomas Jett. “That is unfortunate.” She did not miss that their relationship appeared to involve more than resentment, but for now did not comment further. It was rarely good to come across as enjoying gossip too much. “Such admirable work disrupted.”Shavan smiled in agreement. “In that case, I promise to never rescue you.” Meanwhile the event around them was starting to pick up a little. Shavan had to agree with the Ferengi that they should get on with things. And then the waiter collapsed, and there was a scream. Now that was interesting. [ Jem Sparkles - Orient Express] Being a Superstar meant that Jem always made the most of the adulation and applause, basking in it and milking the moment for what it was worth. Although she vehemently denied that it was also a boost to the ego and certainly didn't act like a Diva, despite the rumours which of course were spread by jealous rivals. So there she was, reacting to her praise until she quickly realised that everyone's attention seemed to be on something else and looked on in horror as one of the servers collapsed and took some of the main courses with him. In fact Jem became rooted to the spot, her moment of glory over with, especially as further realisation kicked in and she identified who it was. Leanna, Leanna oh no please don't tell me it's trueThe normally effervescent and charming Jem Sparkles who could entertain and make everyone fall in love with her, had been reduced to an emotional wreck, unsure what to do or how to react as she made that telepathic plea to her niece. Not wanting to admit that the man she loved well for the last couple of weeks, no she refused to believe it as she stood there, unable to move. **************************** [ Leanna - Orient Express] One minute she was making plans to go to the spa, the next cheering and applauding her Uncle for winning an award. Then what had been a happy and fun moment had turned to one of fear and horror as Redd went to help Rani, only for him to collapse right in front of their table and even Lea knew that this wasn't good. Although upon hearing Jeffy's terrified plea and knowing how much her Uncle had enjoyed Rani's company over the last couple of weeks, had to focus and shut out the emotions, including the scream and the way the music had stopped abruptly. Jeffy, listen to me, I need you to be strong whilst I help with thisWhether Jeffy had heard her or not, she wasn't sure as she moved away from her seat and over to Redd and the limp body of her newest barman, who had only been working for her for the last couple of months. " Redd, that's Rani one of my staff and I'm going to see if we have a Doctor aboard, we're also going to need Security".Having dealt with many emergencies and strange situations, Lea knew she had to stay strong even though she was clearly affected by what had happened. " Do we have a Doctor aboard?" she asked, knowing that they had several security officers in attendance, including Eliska who she hoped had followed her.

[ Ozu Saya and Domen Kyo] We should ask Judy about putting something formal together, Kyo said. But I don't really miss performing in front of crowds. Judy, Saya and I play together a lot, and I've started teaching Evekh, our son.I'm glad you like the tivara. It's still one of my favorite instruments to hear or play, though the bassoon is fun, and I actually enjoy the reactions I get from people who have never seen one before. It's an odd-looking instrument.Just then waiters surrounded their table and set appetizers in front of everyone. Saya sniffed appreciatively and said, That smells amazing.
What sort of music do you like? she asked Kova before taking her first bite. [Benjamin J. "Redd" Reddington - Orient Express]"My dear boy, are you quite alright?" Benjamin J. Reddington briefly paused in his applause for Miss Jem Sparkles to reach out toward one of their servers, his expression concerned. The young man's pallor was death-like, and he was dangerously unsteady on his feet. "Take a seat, here..." A distinctly feminine scream sounded from the next car over. The music stopped, Brack resembled a deer caught in some warp core lights, and Reddington was at a loss for words. [ Kova Sh'qaleq - Orient Express] Kova exhaled as she sat at the table. What she'd learned thus far was that the Bajoran was a talker. He seemed interested in the idea that Kova had proposed, but then mentioned something about not missing performing for crowds. Kova began to wonder if he suffered from stage-fright. It was possible being married to a Vulcan could do that to someone. And then, there were the ridges on her nose. Kova took another sip of her drink, trying to reconcile the paradox sitting in front of her. It was then that the servers swooped down upon their table like a lock of birds as they delivered their appetizers. To be honest, it would have been nice if they wore bells or something. The arrival of her rollatini gave her something to do... if something was simply to push the organic mass around on the plate. Kova began to wonder how long she needed to expose herself to this type of torture before it was acceptable to leave. This just kept happening. She'd be pressured to attend these little soirees that the humans like to throw together and wish nothing more than to leave the entire time. At least until some sort of tragedy struck. And as if on cue, the clatter of dishes falling to the floor seemed to capture everyone's attention in the room. Kova frowned at first, as noticed all the spilled stew that had pooled around the unconscious man. "I bet that was mine," she mumbled. Nevertheless, it seemed like this party was actually picking up for a change. Reaching for her glass, Kova took yet another sip of the Rigellian booze. Perhaps that pour sap couldn't hold his booze. Kova began to wonder what he was drinking, and where she could find it. Though, as the man continued to lay their motionless... even Kova began wonder. He was awfully still. Yet, this was a holo-program and the safety protocols prevented anyone form receiving major injuries. Perhaps this was part of the program? Kova craned her neck slightly for a better view. And then, the scream. It seemed like time had slowed, but it was all happening so fast. Kova's eyes snapped back towards Saya. Surely, with ears like that, she'd heard the scream as well. Kova pushed herself up from her seat and started towards the next car, where the scream had come from. The first thing she discovered was that this dress doubled as a mild restraint. She moved as quickly as she could, while everyone else seemed preoccupied with the stiff that had knocked over her soup, the Andorian was more concerned about who was-- Kova stumbled slightly, but managed to catch herself, her hand bracing her weight as she reached the end of the car. She was uncertain if it was the dress or those Rigellian shots were finally beginning to catch up with her. She reached for the latch to pull the door open so that she could move to the next car, and possibly help the woman that sounded as if she had been in distress.

Instinctively he shifted into a better position to reach his concealed phaser. But for now he and T’Laara both stayed in place and watched the scene unfold. [Charlie Fox - Dining Car, Orient Express]It took Charlie a couple of moments to figure out what Left Ear was asking, but when she did, her face broke into a charmed smile. "Oh! Effennenn is the Federation News Network, where I work. We report on all the goings on here on the Frontier and transmit it all back to the Alpha Quadrant." She continued slicing up her beef, champagne momentarily forgotten with the task, and nodded along to what T'Laara was saying. She got it. "It was unfortunate. I got the information I needed in the end, and Jett helped, but it was a bit of a mess." She couldn't absolve him completely, however. Had he not interfered in the first place she never would have needed outside help, but his intentions had mostly been altruistic. And entirely too reactive. When Shavan piped up to promise never to rescue her, she grinned and rested her knife and fork on her plate to signify she was done. "Don't say that Shavan! What if I suddenly took ill and required mouth-to-mouth in order to live?" It was, of course, at that moment the waiter chose to keel over, as though her words had some strange power over the dining car. She frowned, staring with narrowed eyes at the prone body on the floor. All she could hear then was the drip-drip-drip of the thick soup as it dropped on the man's pristine white shirt. "This is the Orient Express," she began, mostly for her own comfort, "Perhaps it's part of the program?" Charlie didn't seem to buy it herself. She dabbed the corners of her mouth with her linen napkin and then rose, her natural curiosity far too piqued to remain seated.
Tag: Shavan Th'zhaar , Ozu Saya , Thomas Jett *** The woman screamed again. She and her gentleman paramour had merely been enjoying a drink in the lounge car, sitting with some good company and planning on ordering another bottle of the Bollinger when he'd collapsed to the ground like a sack of heavy tubers. She'd thought he was doing a bit, so it wasn't until she caught sight of the frightful white foam coming from his mouth that she called for assistance. Her high-pitched panic would be heard quite clearly into the next car, as the music and conversation stopped suddenly. The soft, persistent sway of the train and its rhythmic forward journey over the tracks were suddenly all too noticeable. She fell to her knees beside him and began to wail.

[ Alec and Aryn Trenzal] Aryn smiled and stretched a little closer to PooDoo so that she could sniff without coming too close. [Sir Dugris "Doug" Zaman, MBE, PhD, JD, MBA, PE, RA - Orient Express]The disruption to their conversation, courtesy of the Ferengi and award #1, was to be expected. Sir Doug tucked into his meal, as did PooDoo, serving herself with small samples. Then came the loud scream. PooDoo reciprocated with a scream of her own as she leapt onto Sir Doug's head. "I don't know what it is, but PooDoo's worried about it," he told Alec. "Let's see if the fleeters need a hand, or if they're handling this on their own."Sir Doug had found it a lot easier to let Starfleet come to him, rather than chasing them.

[Chloe Hudson - Orient Express]The presentations came to an abrupt pause as one of the waiters collapsed at their table. At the same time, Chloe thought she'd heard a scream in the distance. A few moments later, she heard the scream again and what sounded like wailing. Meanwhile, it seemed quite a few of the guests were getting to have a look at the commotion up the front. Lea, diligent as ever had gone to find a doctor which would be helpful. Chloe stood up and positioned herself between the waiter and most of the carriage in an attempt to give him a little privacy. "It's alright everyone, can you all go back to your seats? Everything is fine, there's no need to get up," he projected her voice for the whole carriage to hear. She then noticed Kova apparently stumbling towards the carriage and was slightly concerned not only about what was going on out back but that it was Kova going to check it out. "Can you make sure he gets some privacy? The man doesn't need the whole room looking over him like he's a zoo animal," Chloe asked Reddington before turning to Eliska. "I heard a scream up back. Come check it out with me?" she asked before moving at a brisk pace to the other carriage where Kova was.

[ Leanna - Orient Express] One minute she was making plans to go to the spa, the next cheering and applauding her Uncle for winning an award.

[ Shavan & T’Laara - Orient Express] “Well if you find this one suitably realistic, you would probably enjoy using other holodeck programs.
[ Melihn Ryah - Orient Express] Ryah heard the scream from the other car and hesitated, considering suggesting that Sven go check out that situation, but she saw Chloe say something to Eliska and turn that direction, so decided to leave them to it for the moment. Let's go see if we can help, she said, noting that the young intelligence officer had also tried to get the passengers to clear the area around the fallen waiter. Chief Melihn and Lt. Commander Aune of security, she said flatly as they approached Reddington. Please make an announcement from the stage that everyone return to their seats, or perhaps we need to end the program and clear everyone out of the holodeck.[ Alec and Aryn Trenzal] Aryn smiled and stretched a little closer to PooDoo so that she could sniff without coming too close. Dropping to one knee, Alec wiped a bit of stew away from the waiter's throat and pressed two fingers to where his pulse should have been. "Yes, yes, everyone please, give the young man some air. No use worrying over some spilled soup!" He didn't know where that came from; but he forced a jovial chuckle. At least, that was the sound he'd intended, in reality it came out as a bit unbalanced. He ushered away a too-curious Peggy Lynch. [ Leanna - Orient Express] Lea had never been so happy to have a Doctor nearby as one answered her and she realised that it was one of the newer business owners, who she hadn't spoken to yet. Although now wasn't the time for proper introductions or engaging in conversation, so she thanked him instead. " Thank you" she replied as Alec went over to check on the still form of Rani. Of course she clung on to the hope that he could be helped and for a moment just stood watching, until she became aware of others approaching, picking out those familiar to her including Chloe, then Ryah and Sven. The Betazoid was aware of the conversation and suggestions being made, but that seemed insignificant as Rani was taken from them, his death and the life leaving him, became almost like a whisper but something acutely felt by his Boss. His wasn't the first that she had been attuned to nor would it be the last. Yet it was so cruel and painful, her mind just zoning out for a moment as she looked at him. When Alec then spoke about how Rani had been poisoned and gave a recommendation for what they should do, Lea felt numb, before Redd acknowledged everyone who had spoken. Only coming back to reality when it became apparent that the programme wouldn't end and their host had accidentally announced the cause of death. " Jack gather the others, you know the drill" she finally managed to say, her team trained for emergencies even it meant keeping everyone distracted with alcohol and food. Jack quickly acknowledged his Boss, before Lea looked towards Jeffy who was still in denial ... that was until it began to sink in and he sunk to the ground, leaving Lea to rush to his side. ************************** [ Jem Sparkles - Orient Express] Jeffy was only vaguely aware of Leanna's presence, as the realisation of what had happened to Rani finally sunk in and he naturally collapsed with an immeasurable sense of grief. He may not of known Rani for long and he didn't know if it would be a temporary thing or more but at his age, it was more to do with companionship unlike some Queens. No it hadn't been his paramour's time and now everything had been snatched away from both of them. Jeffy ... listen to me, we need to sit you down and let Starfleet do their job What? ... no leave me little one, I can't do this It soon became obvious to the younger Mazal that she was going to need help in moving her Uncle as he wasn't going to make it easy. She had never seen him like this before, so vulnerable and Rani would be mourned by all of them. With it looking like Eliska was helping Chloe, Lea enlisted Jack's help to get Jeffy to her table, not wanting to leave him on his own right now.

[ Leanna - Orient Express] At Chloe's suggestion of them taking Eliska to the spa and asking if there was one on the station after answering Redd about her job. Leanna thought that was a great idea, especially since the Serenity Day Spa had opened a branch on Front Ear, bringing one of her special go to places within an easier reach. Okay there would be one very important person missing in the form of her best friend, but introducing Eliska and Chloe to the spa's facilities sounded like it would be a lot of fun and a chance for them to get to know one another better. When Eliska then made a reference to the bathhouses back on Nova Kosice in response to her description of the spa, Leanna smiled as it did sound very familiar to what she had experienced, especially the social aspect of it. It also appeared that the security officer was keen to try it out as she mentioned making the trip work with their schedules and also enquired about one being on the station. " We definitely need to organise a pamper day and yes, there's a branch here on the Promenade, I love the one on Argellia Nine but this is just as good" Lea replied, as Redd then responded to Chloe before Lea spoke with Jeffy via their link and everyone's attention was called to Brack as the awards ceremony got underway. Brack was Brack and as Ferengi's went, he was pleasant enough despite his griping and tapping at the microphone. That made her wince slightly but that didn't last long as Jeffy was named the recipient of the first award, with some help from Redd. Leanna beamed her thanks to Redd for stepping in and then joined in with the applause, clapping loudly as her Uncle gave his acceptance speech and she received a mention. [Chloe Hudson - Orient Express]
Chloe was pleased Eliska and Lea were interested in her suggestion. "Great! I can bully Harmon into changing my schedule easy enough, so whatever works best for you two."
She noticed Redd's eyebrows raise when she mentioned her occupation and wondered what was going on through his head. Was it just innocent curiosity? Or something else? Chloe again realised she was perhaps overthinking things again and so began to try and focus on an answer to his question about stories. Fortunately, she was saved as the Ferengi got up forcing Redd to try and regain control of the situation. She smiled and clapped along with Lea as the winner was presented. [ Cwm Eliska Bremmer - Orient Express ]"Excellent, then! We'll have to see what matches all of our schedules." Eliska was gregarious by nature despite the language barrier she occasionally ran into, complete with her lack of general technical literacy. There was a reason she found work in Security rather than anywhere else in Starfleet. She could've been a steward, cook or storesy, but that just hadn't appealed to her. At least, in Security, she could use some of the skills she'd acquired before joining up. And, it looked like things were about to get interesting... until one of the servers collapsed in their immediate vicinity, triggering a flurry of activity. Instantly, Eliska had found her self on her feet, her knees bent as if she was planning to get into a scrap... which might look utterly ridiculous in that sleek gown of hers! And then, there was the scream from another car, soon followed by Chloe asking her for assistance with it. Instantly, the Crewman recognized that tone: the order couched as a suggestion; that made her an officer all right, and while there were no hard rules about socializing off-duty, the nature of the situation clearly meant this was no longer a social occasion, and the chain of command was now in full effect. "You got it, Ma'am," she briskly responded as she glanced towards to source of the scream, and the confusion of people still standing or milling about and holograms not vanishing or freezing in place under Reddington's orders, and the general state of chaos, that meant it might get messy. "If you'll follow me, I'll make a hole for you to follow me through."And that said, Eliska Bremmer started her way towards the source of the scream, shoving her way past anyone who might block her path. This was no time to be nice about things.

[ Alec and Aryn Trenzal] Alec gave Aryn a glance, to which she waved and replied, Go ahead. I'll stay put. Can't do anyone any good like this.Alec bent and pressed a swift kiss to Aryn's cheek and joined Sir Doug in pushing through to the fallen man just in time to hear Leanna asking for a doctor. I am, he said, raising a hand as he was still behind a couple of people. He finally got through and took in the scene. Dropping to one knee, Alec wiped a bit of stew away from the waiter's throat and pressed two fingers to where his pulse should have been. He watched the still chest, then leaned right over, fingers carefully bracing himself, and put his ear near the man's mouth, where a bit of white foam had bubbled around his lips. Alec was careful not to touch it. I don't know who's in charge here, but we need to shut everything down and keep everyone in place, Alec said quietly, not wanting to cause panic. Without a medkit, I can't say with certainty, but through experience, I can tell you that this man was likely poisoned.[Benjamin J. "Redd" Reddington - Orient Express]Reddington, who had been silenced with shock as he stared down at the waiter, found himself nodding in response to Chloe Hudson's orders. "Now, now, Margaret, unless you've got first responder training you'll be more use setting an example for the others and taking your seat. See? Here, now, there is a doctor in the house." While Alec bent to examine the poor, prone server, Reddington was intercepted by two security personnel, one of whom he'd met upon arrival, the other, much, much smaller and attractive one he'd yet to meet. Alas, now was not the time for such pleasant distractions. "Jolly good," he agreed readily, noting that these were possibly two of the highest ranking officers in the holodeck, and feeling some relief at that thought. How ironic he'd be pleased to see the law! =/\= "Computer, pause program." =/\= Reddington waited for the train to stall, for the holographic performers and the extra wait staff to still. Nothing happened. With a frown, while a cold sweat began to break out on his brow, he tried again. =/\= "Computer. End program immediately!" =/\= The only answer to his order came in the form of the great train's horn. The Master of Ceremonies swallowed the sudden excess of saliva in his mouth and glanced at the security team with some anxiety in his expression. Without saying anything further to them, he reached back down to the table and plucked his microphone device from it. "Please, ladies and gentlemen! This is all under control, please be seated. We have a doctor here, there's no need to panic, he is...""Without a medkit, I can't say with certainty, but through experience, I can tell you that this man was likely poisoned.""Poisoned!" He gasped into the microphone for all to hear. [Sir Dugris "Doug" Zaman, MBE, PhD, JD, MBA, PE, RA - Orient Express]Sir Doug stood next to Alec as the doctor worked, not having anything of his own to contribute to the news of the poisoning. It was bad, certainly since the reaction of others indicated that this wasn't a hologram that had been poisoned. The holodeck not shutting down was much closer to his fields, as problems went. "A holodeck malfunction! Of course!" he exclaimed to no one in particular. "We'll need to out what's wrong with it and how to get around it. The smart money's on a software bug, but hardware issues are possible too."He cast his eyes around for the Starfleet engineers that were sure to be present, while the furry animal on his head cast her eyes around for the most scrumptious treats.

The woman screamed again. [Chloe Hudson - Orient Express][...]
[ Cwm Eliska Bremmer - Orient Express ][...] And that said, Eliska Bremmer started her way towards the source of the scream, shoving her way past anyone who might block her path. This was no time to be nice about things. [ Kova Sh'qaleq - Orient Express] As the Andorian entered the car, the first sign she saw was the woman on her knees, distraught at the sight of the downed man. Kova already had her suspicions that he was dead, but given the woman's state, mentioning aloud would only exacerbate her current demeanor. "Excuse me," Kova said as she did her best to kneel. It simply wasn't easy to do in this dress. With some effort, she managed to lower herself to the floor. "I'm here to help." Kova didn't give the woman an opportunity to protest or otherwise question her. Her hands sought to take the man's pulse. After feeling around, she briefly found the location of the man's artery, and where his pulse should have been. Her eyes noticed the foam around his mouth, and immediately deduced it was likely some sort of poison. Her eyes turned towards the woman, wondering if she would be the next to drop like a fly. "What did he have before he collapsed?" she asked. She still wasn't going to be the one to break the news to this woman. Still, she could do with a bit of help. "Computer, arch." Yet, when the break in the holographic simulation didn't appear, the Andorian's began to grow annoyed. "Computer, freeze program!" Still nothing. Rolling her eyes, Kova let out an annoyed sigh. "Again?! Seriously?!" How was it possible that the holodeck kept malfunctioning? This was clearly the fault of that Vulcan half-breed. She obviously knew that she wasn't Chief O'Brien. Perhaps it was time that she told everyone else. And on the off-chance that it wasn't her fault, who in the hell wrote such a crappy program, that it wouldn't interface fully with the station's holographic matrix. They clearly got what they paid for. Pinch your pennies, and you get shoddy work like this. But no one ever asks a true professional like hers truly. Kova's heard turned to look behind her, noticing what appeared to be Bremmer approaching the car's door, along with someone else. Just as good. Perhaps they could be the one to tell the girl that her date had just bit it. Better from a Fleeter's mouth than her own.
