[First Officer's Quarters] K'Dex chewed happily on the small pastry ball he'd left for last, a small continuous rumble in his throat as he chewed. With the mention of main course, he quickly swallowed, and nodded in regards to the main course, his tail betraying an excited swishing back and forth, thankfully out of sight of most of the table. "I'd almost recommend bio-neural gel packs if we're replacing so much of the systems anyway, but we'd be reliant on shipments of gel packs, as they can't be replicated. As far as reaching out to the civilian community, what are we offering to provide to them?" Unbidden, he heard an old voice from years ago in his mind. Even when you're the customer, sell yourself. 151st Rule of Acquisition A rare smirk cross K'Dexs face, before he looked at the rest of the table for their reactions to his question. Maybe it was something that he shouldn't be concerned with, which was fine as he was now considering the applications he could use with 2 industrial replicators. "I wonder if we could set up a dedicated transport relay to and from the planet. It might help if they have the facilities and man power for construction, if we could set up a way to transport parts down, and transport complete parts of the relay back up. It'd take a lot of time to set up, but may be worth it long term."

[ Chief Ozu Saya - Judy's Quarters] Saya finished her soup as the others spoke, listening intently to their ideas. She was impressed with the younger officers' out-of-the-box thinking. And with the XO of the station and ship already in support of making changes and improvements, well, it saved her as chief of engineering a great deal of convincing. Mr. Waring, that is an excellent idea. There are certainly some small parts especially that we should have the raw materials on hand to build ourselves. Commander, if we could take a section of one of the cargo bays...that might suffice for a work space.
I like the idea of asking our residents for their assistance, to an extent, as Commander Eastman indicated. But rather than putting out a general request, perhaps we can check the public records for residents' occupations and target those with backgrounds in engineering or maintenance?
As to offering trade or remuneration, I'm not certain. That may be something to work out with the Commander. She nodded at Judy. I would hesitate to offer anything resembling favoritism to those who help us. That is not a good way to foster future cooperation aboard the station. She went on, wanting to give each crewmember's idea her full attention. It might be beneficial to replace some systems with bio-neural gel packs; however, I don't believe it would be wise to fully convert due to that level of dependence on deliveries. I would want to have a large stock of them as back-ups before we even began the conversion. Finally, she addressed Judy's question of food with a smile. I believe you know my preference. The soup was delicious, but I would like to see what's next.Tag William Waring, Kaya Som, K'Dex, Judith Eastman
