[Charlie Fox - Shuttle Bay 6A, Front Ear Station -> Runabout Normandy]Charlie Fox, carrying only a backpack, a PADD and a dangerously mischievous expression, spoke to no soul as she strode through the shuttle bay, toward the Normandy. Then, as she stepped onboard she called very loudly to Harmon in a sing-song voice, "C'mon honeybear, jamaharon waits for no man!" She had to pause for a moment inside to gather herself, because she found herself altogether too hilarious. Once she'd recovered enough to continue, she made straight for the co-pilots chair. "Scandalous enough for ya?"The sound of the bag made a suspicious thonk as it hit the ground in the cockpit, suggesting that there might be something in a bottle inside. She pretended it didn't exist, then stretched out her legs to rest her booted feet on a console. Olsen hovered just a meter behind her. "Power-save mode," she ordered flatly, her attention already back on the PADD in her hand, a half-written piece with a working title of "HOLODECK HORROR! - Nobody surprised" demanding her consideration. "How long does it take to get to Cait?"Are we there yet are we there yet are we there yet...

"How long does it take to get to Cait?"Are we there yet are we there yet are we there yet... [Matthew Harmon - Shuttle Bay -> Runabout Normandy]Harmon entered the Shuttlebay after Charlie carrying a larger bag and wearing civilian clothes. As she mentioned the Risa sex ritual he facepalmed and rested his head in his hand for a moment. Not again. The questions about Chloe had been frustrating enough. He didn't need the rumour mill to start up about him yet again, especially since the pair were to be gone for about a week. He avoided eye contact with anyone else in the shuttle bay as he climbed into the runabout. "Yes," he huffed with frustration, "That's plenty scandalous enough." She was clearly enjoying herself. Suddenly Harmon was worried he was about to spend a week with an even more difficult version of Chloe. He dropped his bag on the floor and headed for the pilots seat and began preflight checks. "Three days at maximum warp," he sighed without looking up from the console. After a few minutes it was all ready, they got clearance and Harmon piloted the shuttle out of the hanger.

[Charlie Fox - Runabout Normandy]Charlie had decided that Harmon's reactions to things were the gifts that kept on giving. She laughed, still not looking up from her PADD, though very amused by his frustrated huff and his obvious displeasure at being seen entering a runabout alone with her, while she shrieked about alien sex liturgies for all to hear. What he said next however got a less-than entertained reaction. "Three days!?" She parroted, her tone incredulous. This time, her eyes left the screen and fixed on Harmon's profile as he readied the runabout. Three days to Cait with just the two of them, cooped up together in a tiny spaceship? Two enter, one leaves. "Good thing I don't snore," she grumbled, wondering belatedly if Matthew Harmon did. "Maybe next time we make grand, genius plans, we leave the Romulan ale unopened."

Harmon let out a 'ha' as Charlie expressed her surprise at the length of the journey. "Do you not realise Front Ear is in the middle of fuck off nowhere? It's days, weeks to get anywhere of note." The then pushed a few buttons on his console and the runabout activated it's warp drive and exited the system. "I don't snore either," he said as he got up from his chair and made his way to where he'd dropped his bag."Night terrors though, sometimes they get loud. And violent," he said as he rummaged through his bag. He turned around after a moment, bottle of Romulan ale in hand. "You're not the only one with suppliers for the good stuff. We've already made the genius plans, I see no harm in a little more," he said as he walked back. "It seems I forgot glasses though." "And I was kidding about the night terrors," he said as he sat down. "Well, mostly..." He was enjoying the reversal of roles and that he was now able to be the one annoying her.

[Charlie Fox - Runabout Normandy]"I try to forget," she responded dramatically, her body going limp in the seat with a teenage inertia, "I must have been really evil in a past life to deserve this." Did she mean the extended runabout journey, the appointment to Front Ear or having to spend time with Harmon? Who knew. Her head rolled to look at him then, a small frown creasing her brow when he mentioned night terrors. "You Fleeters all have some serious issues, mate. Need therapy." She turned to look out the main viewport again and crossed her legs at the ankle, booted feet still propped up on the console. "Where we're going, we don't need glasses," she muttered, her previous light humour beginning to trickle away. She reached out an arm, expecting him to put the bottle directly into her hand. "This is medicinal." At the very least, it would knock her out for long enough to get a solid six hours.

Harmon wondered just what she was referring to as she bemoaned her circumstances. Was it him, or Front Ear? He could certainly understand either. He had that effect on people, and he himself was all too aware of the disappointments that went with assignment to Front Ear. Some of the newer officers didn't understand that. They were just excited to be on the frontier and getting some action.
He opened the bottle and took a swig of the strong blue liquid before passing it over to Charlie and chuckling at her medicinal comment. "Glad you understand, the Commander is less understanding."

[Charlie Fox - Runabout Normandy]"The Commander should stick to baking."Charlie took a hold of the bottle, brought it to her down-turned mouth, and took a generous swig. She'd heard rumours, of course, and she thought that everyone needed to mind their own bloody business. Harmon did his job, and then some. He deserved his privacy. She'd never say that aloud to him; not right then, anyway. Her good mood was truly in jeopardy. "Never have I ever..."She grinned then in attempt to rescue herself, and have a little fun in the process. "Wondered what kind of "accident" a superior could have in the wake of a dressing down." She took another mouthful, sucked in a breath and invited the burning sensation. She held her giggles as she passed the bottle of ale back to Harmon, a brow arched expectantly.

Harmon nodded about the comment about the Commander sticking to baking. She was generally competent, but often far to irritating and overbearing.
Fortunately, the topic then changed to 'Never have I ever'. He took a drink, indicating he had indeed pondered "accidents" for his superiors. "Once or twice," he grinned. He took a moment to contemplate his question. "Never have I ever been arrested," he asked waiting for her reply.

[Charlie Fox - Runabout Normandy]Too easy, she thought with a grin in return when he drank. She should have known, too, that he'd embrace this game readily. He did deal in information, after all. She groaned at his statement, though it was half-hearted, and reached out to take the bottle back off him. "Do I drink for each separate time?" Charlie asked, her tone light despite the subject matter. "Three times on Earth, two counts of disturbing the peace, one of obstruction." She took a swig, then her eyes narrowed a little as the Romulan ale burned. "Then there was Torros III, but that wasn't exactly above board." She grimaced as the memory of the treatment she'd received at the hands of the private security firm surfaced, and drank again. She deserved to. "Never have I everrrr..." Pushing those unpleasant thoughts from her head, she turned to look at Harmon again and pondered her next move. "Committed a crime and gotten away with it." She waited with a smirk.

Pushing those unpleasant thoughts from her head, she turned to look at Harmon again and pondered her next move. "Committed a crime and gotten away with it." She waited with a smirk. [Matthew Harmon - Runabout, Normandy]Never have I ever was perhaps the perfect game for Harmon. Not only is it about information, that it helps one pick up bits of gossip and all that, but it involved drinking. "Wouldn't want to be stuck in such close proximity if you get alcohol poisoning," he joked in response to her question about drinking for each time. Nevertheless, she drank twice. Just like her first question, Charlie's second question was also very much something he'd done. He reached out for the bottle and took a drink. "Far too many times to count, and I'm definitely headed towards kidney failure if I have to drink for each one...Off the record of course," he grinned. "What are the highlight...hmm...one of my teachers in Year 9 had an antique car, he loved it. But he was a complete twat. My friends and I stole it and took it for a drive...we uh, we had fun for about twenty minutes before we crashed and totalled it a decent way out of the city, so no one saw us. We were terrified of being caught so spent a couple of hours walking until we reached some public transport. We got away with it though. Not sure how, but we did." that was hardly the most illegal thing he'd done but it was amusing, at least to him. "I've definitely breached plenty of Romulan anti-espionage laws and I may sometimes take a more liberal interpretation of Federation law than most judges would," that last one surprised him when he admitted it. It wasn't in any detail and would be hard to prove it, but it was very odd for him to admit, especially to a reporter no less. Maybe it was alcohol, or maybe he was just beginning to trust and be more comfortable around Charlie. He certainly hadn't been this relaxed since arriving of Front Ear. He was happy even, enjoying this little game. "Never have I ever...gone on a date with a tactical officer," he smiled in a teasing way. A moment after he said it, however, he became concerned she might take offence at his prying, though he tried to avoid showing his concern.

[Charlie Fox - Runabout, Normandy]"That is not a pretty sight," she agreed with Harmon's alcohol poisoning joke, her mind flashing backward again, but this time to a moment during her misspent youth. It seems it was catching, because her companion began to recall a youthful story of his own. Her eyes widened as she listened, and then when he finished she burst out laughing. "Matthew Harmon! The scandal. Who knew?" In truth, she might have guessed; it was likely the fact that he told her that surprised her more. When he made the admission that he'd breached plenty of other types of laws in his time, and that his approach to applying them was a little more on the liberal side, the corners of her eyes crinkled a little with amusement. "Most laws make sense," she found herself saying in response, surprising herself a little, too. "But the more there are, the less justice there seems to be."She stretched out in her seat, feeling very relaxed. She was interlocking her fingers behind her head when his next round caught her completely off-guard. "No fair!" She declared, then pointed an accusing finger at him. "You can't use your special spook skills, that's a totally unfair advantage." Naturally, Charlie would use whatever information she had at her disposal under any circumstances; when playing for fun or for real, but that didn't mean she couldn't pretend otherwise. "How do you know about that, anyway?"She reached out and took the bottle, her eyes narrowed at him but quickly finding she couldn't keep up the facade. She snorted with amusement, and took a swig. "Yes, I've gone on a date with Lieutenant Joshua Niles, tactical officer." The corners of her mouth were curling upward. "But you already knew that. Never have I ever had an inappropriate crush." She angled the bottle back toward him, her grin growing.

Charlie was clearly impressed, and amused by Harmon's regaling of his youthful indiscretions. He cracked a smile for a moment before things got slightly more serious as she spoke of the disconnect between justice and the law. He nodded in agreement.
He chuckled as she protested at his usage of 'special spook skills'. "Hey, I thought we were being honest here...you'd do the same if you could!" he asserted. "As it turns out I didn't even need my special spook skills. I found out through the gossip chain, which I pay close attention to, of course," he answered. That was true, though Charlie didn't need to know that he did specifically keep an eye out for gossip about her. "People talk on the Mac, and I talk to the lower decks. They often have a lot to say. A lot of it is bullshit, but there's often an element of truth. And when there's a hot firebrand reporter hitching a ride with us, that intrigues the masses," he leaned back in his chair and smiled. Unforutnately, she didn't seem eager to share any more information about what Harmon was confident would have been an...interesting dinner to say the least. "It did surprise me, I wasn't even sure if I should believe it until you just confirmed. He's just so..." he struggled for the right words to describe the enterprising young officer. "Define inappropriate crush," he asked with a raised eyebrow and reached out for the bottle in anticipation.

[Charlie Fox - Runabout, Normandy]"I would never...!" She proclaimed, hand to her chest when he suggested, quite rightly, that she'd have done the exact same with the information. She was very interested indeed to find out that there had been lower deck chatter not just about her, but about one of the officers she'd chosen to spend some time with onboard. She arched a brow when he admitted to being surprised; somehow that felt like a tiny win for her, and then grinned when he trailed off, struggling for a word to use to describe Josh. "So... dutiful? Handsome? Quintessentially Starfleet?" She was laughing as she handed over the bottle, wondering if he'd take the bait. Then, when he asked her to define crush, she obliged. "Someone you want to bang who you really should not. So like, a superior, or a colleague, or I don't know... an individual who has committed heinous crimes, like theft, for example, or wearing socks with sandals."
"And I want details, Harmon."

"And I want details, Harmon." [Matthew Harmon - Runabout, Normandy]Harmon shook his head and smiled at Charlie's rather dramatic insistence that she would never do such a thing. "Handsome? Really? I don't see it," he teased. He couldn't really picture the two of them together, it was quite odd to him. "Dutiful...a bit too much I think. You missed bloodthirsty too," he added offhandedly before moving on to her question. "Well I do have my standards, I could never have a crush on such a monster as someone who would wear socks with sandals," he was deflecting and trying to delay answering. It was an uncomfortable topic, one he had been trying to repress and ignore since his downfall and exile to Front Ear. He took a drink from the bottle before eventually answering. "There was someone. Back on Starbase 39, there was a woman in the Diplomatic Corps. Vara. We worked together a bit, I developed a thing for her and we eventually started a brief relationship," he quickly moved on hoping to avoid dwelling on that for much longer. It was good while it lasted, he loved her, was completely infatuated. "Now the issue was that she was the Admiral's daughter and that the Admiral was never...well he was never particularly fond of me. When he caught us, he exploded. He was furious. He had me reassigned to Front Ear," he took another drink. "It seemed okay though, I found out through a mutual friend that there was a diplomatic posting open on Front Ear and that it was offered to Vara. But she turned it down and broke up with me. And now, here I am!" he said with a forced smile before taking another drink. "So I think I'm going to avoid crushes in the future. More trouble than its worth." He again took another drink of the strong blue liquid. "How about you?" he asked trying to move on.

[Charlie Fox - Runabout Normandy]"Yeah..." She muttered in agreement, thinking back to the Talorian mission and Josh's desire to murder all of them in retaliation. "That was a little off." It was all she'd say about the matter, for she was aware that it had precipitated a period of turmoil for the Sec/Tac officer, and while she was comfortable enough discussing some of her own business with Harmon in that runabout, she wasn't all too sure about anyone else's. Her quirked grin at the mention of monstrous socks with sandals wavered, and then slowly faded as she listened to his story about Vara. Inside, Charlie could feel her chest clench a little, her sense of compassion flaring when she thought of his obvious broken heart, though her feeling of injustice at his treatment by the Admiral and his daughter was a very close second. Outwardly, she showed very little sign of the wave of sadness that overcame her, with the exception of a softening expression. She noted that he drank multiple times throughout his retelling, but she figured he deserved it. "Fckin' brass," she muttered as she reached out and took the bottle back. She took a drink for his story, and then gave her own answer some consideration. If Harmon wanted to move things on, then she'd do just that. "A professor in college. He was by far my toughest. Would read out the worst of the assignments at the end of every week to the whole class, and then open critique up to the floor. It was awful, and humiliating for a lot of the students, of course. I think that factored massively into why I had a crush on him." She smirked. You are so messed up."Shagged him after the first semester, naturally." She took a drink, licked her lips and turned her smirk on her companion. "We had a bit of mutually assured destruction going on, so there was no trouble with that one." She'd had dalliances since then, of course, but Charlie never really stayed in the same place long enough for any relationship to develop into anything longterm. She seemed quite alright with that. "Okay, I'm up." Her words were beginning to slur a little, but her playful spirit had returned. "Never have I ever sang karaoke." Matthew Harmon
