Name (if different from prime universe): Kova Sh'qaleq
Faction (Eastman/Harmon): Harmon
Position: Engineer
Distinguishing characteristics:Blue skin, white hair, antennae
Appearance (if it differs from the prime universe): n/a
Family:
Biography:
Kova has never set foot upon the frozen shores of Andoria, due to her people being haunted to the brink of extinction by the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance. Her people's service to the Terran Empire coupled with their aggressive nature left them as targets better to be put down before they could rise up against the Alliance. A number of Andorians settled a colony deep in the Beta Quadrant, hoping to escape their hunters.
Kova found a simple life for herself, as an Engineer aboard a transport. She married early, and her bondmates had their first child, Thami. For many, this would not be enough, but for Kova it was. For years, Kova traversed a portion of the Beta Quadrant, from Cait to Kurjaria even to Nyberr. Though, like so many, happiness proved to be fleeting.
Kova's transport was eventually stopped by one of Eastman's warships. Having allowed her daughter, Thami, to accompany her, Kova had Thami hide with several other crew members, along with some of the more precious cargo in some hidden holds. The remaining crew was interrogated and tortured for information about the cargo. For the sake of her child, Kova held her tongue, even though it cost her one of her antennae. Yet, not every member of the crew had the same fortitude. With the hidden hold discovered, their were casualties and the cargo was taken. Kova would later discover that her daughter had been taken as well.
Since that time, Kova has searched for her daughter. She has gotten conflicting reports, some saying that Thami was dead, killed shortly after being abducted. Others claim that she is still alive, but say nothing more out of fear of the Commissioner. The rest of Kova's family left the region, accepting the loss of their daughter, but not Kova. She won't rest until she hears personally hears from Eastman herself what happened to her daughter. Her quest led her to team up with one of the only people willing to risk having her aboard their ship (given her vendetta with the Commissioner), Matt Harmon.
Personality:
Kova has formed an inexplicable loyalty to Matthew Harmon. Likely, because he's kept her around for this long, despite her limited perspective to his cause. She tolerates it, and participates whole-heartedly, hoping to find a clue to her daughter's fate.
Kova is a bit of a scrapper, but those skills have only improved with experience. She's seen her share of bar fights, but that's only because ale is one of the two things that numbs the pain. The other? Well, that can typically be picked up in a bar as well.
Kova is also a skilled Engineer. She knows her way around an engine, and more importantly knows how to treat one. If you're kind to her, gentle she'll never let you down. But even a purring engine enjoys the thrill of a rough ride every now and then.
