[Lt. Paawin Riyo - Front Ear - Sickbay]The wheezing, blood-filled cough and the rattling he felt in Sven's chest immediately confirmed his fears, and the spike in heart rate only made it worse. "I need another dose of anesthesia and a laser scalpel now!" He ordered sharply, and the medical staff leapt into action despite the darkness. Using both hands, he gently pressed along each rib until he felt the one that dislodged. He heard the hiss as one of the nurses administered the hypo, and before he could demand one of the engineers hand over their wrist light, the biobed came to life. He gave them a swift nod of acknowledgement and pulled the instrument tray over to his side. The monitor above the bed revealed the anesthesia was taking affect, but so was the internal damage. Without another word, he cut Sven's shirt open and grabbed the scalpel, beginning the delicate process of extracting the displaced rib.

Soft tags Sven Aune Ozu Saya [ Kova Sh'qaleq - CO's Quarters, Front Ear Station ] Tiny canines. That was what came rushing towards Kova. Her eyes studied the pair of corgis as they were summoned back and then escorted to the bedroom by Eastman's husband. The Andorian said nothing more, nor was she disturbed by their presence. Her entry into the quarters were met with a greeting from Matthew Harmon of all people. Instantly, she suspected that the spook had an agenda of his own. He wasn't known for issuing pleasantries so easily, especially given the state of affairs. Her eyes then drifted to Captain Eastman. Perhaps Harmon's behavior had more to do with present company than anything else. The captain listened as Saya asked that Kova be allowed access to the computer terminal to run a diagnostic. Kova's eyes left Eastman and shifted to Harmon, suspecting an objection had to be on the tip of his tongue. She thought it best to bide her time and let the upcoming dialogue filter about before she consciously did anything more. Thus far, it seemed an all too comfortable Saya simply brought everyone up to speed with a consolidated verbal report.

When he then came back and gave her the options and assured her that the lift was in no danger of falling. Lea thought about it and whilst she didn't want to lose another stroller after the last one was destroyed in the park fire. The alternative was to remain in the lift for who knows how long and wasn't sure if she could stay especially with the kids. " If you can recover the stroller later for me, I'll take you up on the offer to lift us all out. I just need to grab the diaper bag".Lea then packed everything into the bag and took out Aven, before making sure that Ari was ready.

It felt strange taking his shoes off while in uniform, but he complied with the Captain's request. It was her home after all. Kova didn't respond to his greeting, at least not verbally, opting instead to stare at him, no doubt sizing him up and trying to find some hidden agenda. He smiled, enjoying watching her paranoia get the better of her. The Chief then cut to the chase immediately and requested Kova be given the given access to computer terminals. "Of course, I'll authorise Kova to access our systems," he said as he pulled out a PADD and typed in some commands to ensure Kova had access. He figured there was little point objecting, it would just go back and forth before the Captain accepted the Chief's advice. More importantly, his amenability was sure to confuse and annoy Kova. =/\= Ops to Commander Harmon...sir, we've had a civilian ship the uh...SS Falcon attempt to dock, however there was a malfunction with the docking systems. Their captain took manual control and a collision was avoided, but I though you should know...sir. =/\=Harmon's demeanour shifted at the mention of the SS Treachery. He took a step back while Saya wrapped up her briefing so he could give directives to Ops. Of course Thomas Jett decided now to show up, as if there wasn't enough to deal with on the station. How he managed to continually stay out of prison...or the airlock, completely eluded Harmon. =/\= Thomas Jett, it's captain is a known troublemaker. And treasonous. Dispatch security to keep a close eye on him, if he so much as passes gas on this station, I want to know. I don't care if he knows we're watching. =/\=He then stepped back towards the group and updated them. "Ma'am, Thomas Jett has decided now was an appropriate time to visit us once again. I'll handle him if he does anything...in character. I've ordered Security to tail him." He wondered if Captain Treason was somehow involved with whatever was going on. It was perhaps unlikely, but he wouldn't put it past him.
Up in Ops, security was dispatched to follow around Jett once he disembarked.
Tag: Judith Eastman , Ozu Saya , Kova Sh'qaleq , tag @jett [Capt. Judith Eastman(-Williams) & Max Williams - Commanding Officer's quarters]Judy sighed, with clear disappointment. Station-wide, large-scale malfunctions were exactly the kind of thing she wanted to start her captainly tenure with. And Thomas Jett... she wanted to bar him from docking at her station ever again, but sadly was prevented from doing that. That convicted (albeit pardoned) traitor had friends in high places. "I'll be surprised if Jett has nothing to do with this," she lamented. "Mr. Harmon, I want you to take point with security. Look for sabotage, and explore all angles. Take Mabel along with you," she ordered. "And feel free to pick up Mr. Jett if he makes any provocations.""Chief, Ms. Sh'qaleq, come with me, I'll set you up in our study."Rising from her seat, and taking the cheese platter with her, Judy walked over to the study she and Max shared. The room, spacious enough, was filled with various things, including a large desk with two chairs and workstations, a number of guitars (in cases), and, on the wall opposite the desk, a large model railroad layout, modeled around the 1930s in the rural, mountainous parts of Max's native Scotland. It was painstakingly built, a sign of deep, abiding geekdom. Judy quickly logged out her and Max's system profiles on the respective workstations, so they could be used. "You can use these, but try not to move the chairs too much. We're old, Max and I, and aches come easily," Judy instructed. "Now, since I can tell my day off is over, I'll go put on my uniform."Judy swiftly walked to the bedroom, where - thoughtful as ever - Max had already laid out her uniform. "You're incredible," she said gratefully. "You owe me an anniversary trip," he replied, half messing with her, as she changed into her duty uniform, donning her captain's vest (and clipping her readers to it) as she draped her jacket over her right arm. She made her way back towards the study, picking up a jug of water and a few glasses on the way.

[Front Ear – Alleyway nearby the Promenade] It did not take long after he held the person tailing him that he asked to be let go. Jett smiled as he thought to himself that he was being nice up to this point by not pointing a weapon at him. He needed to find out which person did not like him at this point of time in the Station. The list of potential people that want to chase him or potentially kill him was too long to count. It was almost as quickly as another person pointing a phaser in the back of his hard finally identified themselves. “Should have said so sooner and maybe let me know you are tailing me for no reason” . He let the person that he was holding go. And slowly as not to do a sudden movement he placed his hands on the back of his head. “Hmm…so who ordered the Gestapo Security trailing…Judy?”. Tom said with a slight smile. He knew he was not going to get too far ahead, but any bit of information would help him in the puzzle. Tag Matthew Harmon

[ Mott Moz | Somewhere on the station, some remote corridor ]Mott turned to find a Vulcan asking after him. He knew about Vulcans. They didn't know how to have a good time, but life on Celladore had taught him to be understanding of all the different ways different cultures of relaxting. He'd also learned they tended to be very strict when Mott had decided he thrived with more laissez faire supervision. He slid his Jar of Critter behind his back and decided to humor the typical adult need to help children even if they didn't need it. "Oh yea, banging lost. Loster than the lostest lost kid on the whole station," he said clicking his tongue and looking around. "I'm, uh..." he thought for a second, searching for a good cover, already distracted from seeking out his grouchy mother, "... Looking for the boss of Engineering. Whoever's in charge of fixing things."If the Vulcan was concerned about things breaking down, well, he could share that concern. [ T’Laara - Unknown Corridor, Front Ear Station] T’Laara raised one eyebrow at the kid’s overenthusiastic agreement that he was lost. “That is.. unfortunate.” She chose not to admit that her main reason for asking was not concern, but that she herself had gotten turned around. Not that she wouldn’t help him, but the Bolian did not appear to be in any more imminent danger than anyone else at the moment. His manner of response only confirmed this. She looked at him with more interest when he said he was looking for the chief engineer. “Why? Have you found something that needs to be fixed?” Something else? Avi Moz

[MCPO Ozu Saya - CO's Quarters]
Thank you, Commander, Saya said sincerely to Harmon when he gave Kova the requested access without question. She was afraid she might hit the next person who gave her any difficulties. Saya stood and padded after Judy into the study and headed for the older woman's chair, leaving the taller one Max sat in for Kova. Her feet wouldn't be able to go flat on the deck, but they'd at least touch. Maybe she could get a little organization done here before she headed back to engineering. I'm going to investigate the history of these malfunctions, see if I can pin down when they started increasing, she informed the Andorian as she logged into the terminal with her own information. ... [... Proxy Level 1 Diagnostic... all systems... running... ]
The images on the screen raced, as it seemed to scan through all of the systems. on Kova's lens, several readouts were constantly displayed. The Andorian's eyes were used to skimming through Chel-E's analysis, though what she was seeing didn't make much sense. After a few moments, Kova looked down at Saya. "This... isn't a virus. At least, not like anything I've ever seen. As of right now... my advice: get a new station." [Capt. Judith Eastman(-Williams) - Commanding Officer's quarters]As she came back into the study, Judy heard words she really didn't care to hear. Nevertheless, she remained cool, assuming that the somewhat out-there Andorian was engaging in a bit of hyperbole. "What did you find?" she asked both women, calm as ever, as she set down the jug of water she'd brought between their workstations. The Captain settled down on one of two stools abutting the model railroad layout, and set her jacket down on the other. Even as she kept most of her attention focused on the younger women at work, she was concerned by the prospect of dealing with disastrous, cascading malfunctions. She figured she should mentally prepare to make one of her signature announcements.

The ache in his shoulder was steadily progressing to a powerful throb, and his arm seemed to be getting weaker by the second. He was able to complete the abdominal repairs without complications, however, and that was what mattered. Finishing up healing those incisions, he shifted his location next to the biobed to prepare the surger for the Commander's dislocated and torn shoulders. "Doctor, your arm." One of the others nearby stated simply. Riyo didn't need to look at his shoulder to know it had swelled to at least twice its normal size. But there was still work to be done, and he didn't want to leave Sven under anesthesia any longer than necessary. So at first the doctor ignored the concern, reaching for the laser scalpel once more, but as he picked it up off the tray he could see his hand shaking. Sighing softly to himself, he looked up at the nurse that had addressed him. "Alright, come here. I'll talk you through what I need you to do." Really, he only needed the man's steadier left arm, but would have to suffice with sharing the cramped space around the patient's shoulder so the nurse could do what Riyo would normally use his own left hand for. Thankfully, Sorren did not appear to have any new injuries. However there was an increase in damaged tissue from the initial plasma burns, but frankly... that was his own fault for not letting her treat him sooner. "Of course," she replied simply when he inquired about her coursework in Vulcan anatomy. All Federation species were required courses for Starfleet medical personnel. Not wanting to give him any more reasons to argue with her, she immediately set to work on treating the burns.

Kova appeared unsure how to respond to Harmon’s unexpected acquiescence, though unfortunately didn't elicit much of a response much to Harmon’s disappointment. With that dealt with he nodded at the Captain’s order and headed back to Ops to coordinate security, and take over from the more inexperienced junior officers he’d left in charge.
[Mozg & Susux - Promenade]
Meanwhile, Jett decided it prudent to blame them for his aggressive outburst. When he compared them to the Gestapo, Susux made a growling noise and tightened her grip on her phaser, staring intently at the man in front of her hoping he’d give her a reason to shoot him. Mozg, then spoke, “You’ve committed treason, and acts against this station. Security is obligated to monitor your actions, or else we’d have no choice but to evict you. And that’s Captain Eastman to you, traitor.” Susux then activated her communicator to get more orders.
=/\= Commander, Thomas Jett confronted and assaulted us. What do you want us to do? =/\=
=/\= Let him go for now. If he causes any more trouble...well we won’t go so easy this time. Remind him that Captain Ellis is long gone. =/\=
“You can go now. But watch yourself. Captain Ellis isn’t here to have your back anymore,” Susux told him, the disdain in her voice apparent.

[Capt. {Spoiler}[MCPO Ozu Saya - CO's Quarters]
[ Kova Sh'qaleq - CO's Quarters, Front Ear Station ] Humans were strange enough, but these humans were arguably more strange than usual. First of all, there was the Captain and her mate. With all the time that Kova had been on the station, she had managed to keep her distance from Eastman. Now, here she was in the woman's quarters, with her canines charging at her only to be hauled away by her mate. Then, there was Harmon. His... obedience was rather unnerving. There was no protest. No warnings about granting a convicted hacker access to the station, or even being behind this altogether. Hopefully, this wasn't all some elaborate attempt to catch her in the act of doing something wrong... or very right. And then, there was the shoe thing.... Kova looked down at her blue bare feet. Her eyes glanced back at her boots that were waiting near the door. She looked around until she was enlightened to even more news. It seemed Thomas Jett of all people had turned up once again on Front Ear Station. He had his own checkered past, and considering how Harmon was more annoyed by his presence, Kova was certainly convinced that it was probably a good idea to keep her distance from him as well. As she was beckoned to follow Eastman and Ozu into a study. Kova's eyes were instantly drawn to the railroad layout. The Andorian naturally drifted towards it to examine it. It reminded her of the holographic locomotive that they had nearly been killed on. Why they would keep the model of such a monstrosity, she was unsure. Though, it did look similar to some of the first ice cutters... from centuries ago. Eastman redirected her attention to a pair of terminals and gave some warnings about moving the chairs before she felt it necessary to reveal she was going to change clothes. Why? Was this some sort of attempt to wave her uniform in Kova's face? Saya settled in one of the chairs, and mentioned trying to determine what she could learn about the history of all these malfunctions. Meanwhile, Kova simply looked at the chair and at the terminal. How was she supposed to sit in it without moving it? Her hand reached into her pocket and pulled out her interactive lens. She placed it over her eye, and secured it behind her ear. "Voice encryption... prime user... Chel-E, recognize terminal and initiate remote access... find pre-approved access for this user and display parameters."[... Chel-E Active... ] [... Recognize User: 001... Voice Confirmation... ] [... Sh'qaleq, K. (Civilian)... pre-approved access: authorization -- Harmon, M. LCD... ] [... Parameters: Limited... Maintenance Mode... Diagnostics and Analysis... ]"Really?" Kova said shaking her head. "Chel-E... Run Ghostwalker." The screen shimmered and flickered. "That was me. Display parameters." Kova continued to stand beside the empty chair, looking at the terminal's screen. She only said as much to make certain that Saya didn't think she'd just encountered another problem. [... Ghostwalker Protocols... Running... ] [... Parameters: n/a... ]Kova tilted her head slightly. Now, she could actually do some work. If she were being honest, she could have gained access at any point. As a courtesy, she had simply attempted to follow their protocols. Either way, it was time to see what she could learn. "Run Proxy Level 1 Diagnostic: all systems."[...
As of right now... my advice: get a new station."
Tag: Judith Eastman , Ozu Saya , Matthew Harmon [Turbo lift] " Thankyou"Lea replied gratefully when the Engineer promised to return the stroller himself as soon as they got the lift moving. That was one less thing to worry about as he then laid flat and suggested that she hand the kids over so that they could then lift her up before sending them all up the shaft. That made sense and his assurance that they would be safe, certainly helped although she was just glad that they had been found and knew they were in safe hands. " Okay, I'll hand you Aven first, then Ari" After assuring her daughter that it was okay and to do whatever was asked of her, Lea then prepared to hand Aven over.

[Turbolift - Repair Team Epsilon] Leaning his entire upper body down into the 'lift, the young engineer carefully took Aven into his arms. One of the other engineers was holding his legs down to brace him. He lifted his upper body until another engineer could take the baby from his arms and step back. The Bajoran blew out a heavy breath and leaned back down, his face slowly turning red. Come on, sweetheart, he urged Ari, slightly breathless with hanging upside down. He grunted a little as he took the slightly heavier weight of the little girl, again passing her up to another set of arms, then he rested for a moment. Ma'am, please don't take this as an insult, but we're going to lower a harness for you. I think it'll just work better logistically. He didn't want Lea to think he was saying that she was heavy. He disappeared from an opening and a moment later a harness with velcro straps was lowered on the end of sturdy nylon rope. Do you know how to put that on? The Bajoran asked from his position as the one holding the rope at the edge of the trapdoor. Tag Leanna Mazal

[ T’Laara - Unknown Corridor, Front Ear Station ] T’Laara raised one eyebrow at the kid’s overenthusiastic agreement that he was lost. “That is.. unfortunate.” She chose not to admit that her main reason for asking was not concern, but that she herself had gotten turned around. Avi Moz [ Mott | Some corridor ]Well, he wasn't in trouble. That was good. No scolding. She didn't even tell him what to do. This was good. Also, she'd hit a little magic button in the little Bolian - he liked helping. "There's a broken door and a broken vent, but that's not why I need the head engineer," he said proudly. Slowly he revealed the jar. Inside was a funny little furry creature with a long sniffly nose and gagh-tail. "I found him eating electrical wiring," he explained, peering into the jar. The critter was scritching around the glass. Shavan Th'zhaar (T'Laara)

It seems unlikely… but it would explain why unconnected systems are being affected.” She did not entirely dismiss the possibility that the kid was pulling a prank, but as outlandish as it was, it did actually make sense. More importantly, it had stoked her curiosity and desire to get to the bottom of what was going on. She saw no reason to talk to the Bolian any differently than she would to an adult.. or to dismiss something potentially important just because it came from an unlikely source. “I think you might be right. [Turbo lift to Promenade]
Once Aven was safely in the Engineer's Arms, Leanna then picked up a slightly heavier Ari as the Ensign urged her to reach him with good reason too. Then it was Leanna's turn and certainly didn't take offence when he mentioned that she was going to need a harness. Picking it up after it had been dropped down, the bar owner confirmed that she knew how to put one on and didn't waste anytime in doing so.
Adjusting slightly, Lea then signalled that she was ready and then was winched up, where she was then reunited with her children. Ari of course thought that the whole thing was one big adventure and couldn't wait to tell everyone. However before she could do that they still needed to get off the top of the lift. As luck would have it, the lift had stopped just below her intended destination so with a little further help reached the safety of the Promenade.
After thanking the Engineers, Lea then took the children to daycare, hoping that nothing else would go wrong today.

|Sickbay || lt. cmdr. Sven Aune || Sorren || E1-526 Mark IV back up power supply |Knocked out, Sven could do, or respond to anything. But the doctor's nimble and practiced hands were working quickly and with life saving measures. He had managed to staunch the flow of blood and repair the internal damage done. Sudden changes in gravity were quite dangerous despite how it was often time portrayed as humerous in many of the holo-vids and holo-deck recreational novels. Sorren looked on with customary Vulcan contempt, but kept his mouth closed. It would not due well to engage in hyperbole at this moment. And the human nurse sound hole was making air vibrations again. "If you must." he said in an off handed tone of voice. "I trust that you have had Vulcan anatomy?" he doubted very much that she did. Then again, he would have betted a 1000 slips of latinum that she would just pull up some sort of automated stepwise procedure that she could mindlessly follow along with. What was the point of having doctors now when there was an EMH. Then again, all the EMH templates Starfleet used were, in Sorren's opinion, were, at best, contemptable, snobbish and rude. Meanwhile the E1-526 Mark IV back up power supply was grateful that it was shut down. And if it could talk it would have said "thank you. I didn't want to die in a fiery explosion." but of course, it could not. What kind of crazy universe would it be if it could? Instead the feedback cascade halted and its power dissipated as the capacitor was no longer receiving energy. Tag Jovireh Velal [Lt. Paawin Riyo - Front Ear - Sickbay]Finally it seemed as though everything was running smoothly once more, but Riyo didn't want to breathe relief just yet.
Tag Sven Aune |Sick Bay || lt. cmdr. Sven Aune | lt. (jr. grd.) Sorren|Sven laid in unconsciousness state, unable to do, or react to anything. And interestingly enough his sleep was dreamless. He just laid there. Hopefully the nurse was competent. Sorren on the other hand watched on, ignoring the nurse patching up his burned face. The doctor was leaving a delicate procedure up to a nurse because his arm, presumably, hurt. He scoffed, but kept his dark thoughts to himself. ~~Meanwhile~~ |Airlock A-1 || Crewman Alice Duff | Crewman Edgar Ragde | Computer | Alice held her tricorder. The device made its little whirly beep beep noise as she was scanning for some evidence. Apparently this airlock had become a drop point for a drug smuggling operation. This was work she did not like. Investigation wasn't her strong suit. But her partner... She took a few sideways glances at the man. He was short. His head was pie-plate round. And she was pretty sure that it was a perfect circle. His eyes were set entirely too close together. And they were watery and itty bitty tiny. But the coke bottle thick glasses, set in perfectly circular frames that perched precariously on his dainty plush and boopable nose, made them look cartoonishly huge. How in the world did this guy ever pass his physicals? Or even get into the academy. And why did he pick security of all things? Mysteries left best to Mysterious Mysteries of Mysterious Things. A game that she started playing with her boyfriend. Some holodeck thing that was just as tedious and boring as this current job. But the rumor around crewman Ragde was that he was some sort of trick shot with a sniper phaser. She doubted this very much. Her tricorder beeped and booped and chirped and wheezed as it did its things. But what happened next grabbed her attention enough to stop thinking about Edgar. "Code 111. Code 111. In-tru-tru-tru-tru-tru-tru-tru-tru-tru-tru-tru-. Airlock malfun-fun-fun-fun. Bzzzzrt!" The interlock door slid shut and she heard the interlocks seal. "Warning. Loss of atmosphere detected. Interlocks sealed."Edgar dropped what he was doing and looked at a panel on the wall next to the interlocked door. On it was a display that showed air levels. The composition read: 78% N2, 21% O2, 0.9% Argon and 0.04% CO2. All well within normal ranges for humans. The pressure in the airlock read 101,000 pascals, but it was rapidly declining. They had a couple of minutes to get out. Naturally he tapped his combadge. "Engineering! We have an emergency. Crewman Duff and I are locked in a airlock and there is an atmosphere leak! We need extraction, STAT!"Alice's face went white as a sheet. Death by suffocation. A real possibility serving in Starfleet. But one she didn't think would happen to her. Tags Jovireh Velal Ozu Saya

Glancing to Judy, she reported, It's difficult to state with certainty, but the malfunctions seem to have increased from the normal average beginning approximately four weeks ago, but I can't find any initiating incident. [ Kova Sh'qaleq - CO's Quarters, Front Ear Station ] As the Vulcan pointed out that Kova could sit down, as long as she didn't adjust the chair too much, the Andorian's brow furrowed. "Does my not sitting in the chair not accomplish that goal?" she asked. Kova wasn't overly concerned with the captain's preferences, but still thought it best to avoid getting on her bad side, especially if it meant violating the preferences of her decor. Humans could be rather territorial. Just look at how they had exploded to every corner of the universe in such a short time. It wasn't long before Captain Eastman returned, now clad in her Starfleet uniform. She inquired what they had discovered. Clearly, her comment about getting a new station had been overheard. Saya remarked that it wasn't necessarily feasible. To those words, the Andorian rolled her eyes and simply slighed. While the literal may be the best option, the Andorian hadn't intended to be taken literally. Saya's report went on to mention that it seemed the situation had been deteriorating for weeks. Clearly, given the fact she couldn't find the initial incident meant she had no idea how any of this started. Still, her report seemed to corroborate what Kova was seeing as well. "Whatever is happening, is causing systems relays to reroute all over the station," Kova stated. In her opinion, it was one of the few hazards of Starfleet's recent dedication to bio-neural gel packs. "Whatever happened probably started as a simple malfunction." Given present company, Kova didn't believe that was much of a stretch. "Some systems are able to temporarily reroute themselves until repairs came be made. There is something that is beginning to tax all those relays to the point where they could be breaking down permanently."It was possible that Kova was exaggerating just a tad, but left unchecked, it was likely that what she had described could just as easily come to pass. "You said this seemed to start weeks ago? Who was here that doesn't like you?" Kova asked. "Like I said, I don't currently see any sign of a virus, but if it's a chameleon, detecting it will take a bit longer." Not to mention likely be a pain in her blue ass to remove.

Even if the creature turned out to be a false alarm.. the kid was smart. “That’s fascinating.” It really was. “Which kind do you think these are? If they have adapted to living here, they could definitely cause damage if left alone.” They walked into a turbolift and she fell silent as she considered the full implications of that Mott was talking about, and just how extensive the infestation would have to be for it to be true. Could these animals really be living in the walls and causing this much damage without anyone else noticing? Or even feeding on the energy of the station itself? The doors to main engineering swept open as they reached their destination. She didn’t see Chief Ozu anywhere amid the very harassed looking engineers. At first nobody seemed to pay them any mind, as stressed and caught up in their work as they obviously were. No matter. T’Laara strode confidently through the room and approached the man who appeared to be in charge. “Excuse me, but there’s something you should see, that could be contributing to the recent increase in malfunctions.” She looked to Mott to finish his story.
