Name: Stranded (name to be confirmed/adjusted)
Type: Mission
Location: Deep space, in the orbit of an unstable pseudostar
Synopsis: The Mac is at warp chasing down a hostile ship when both vessels encounters a subspace disturbance and are ripped out of warp. It turns out the disturbance is a rare sort of wandering pseudostar, and both ships are stuck in a dangerous orbit around it. The sudden deceleration has caused severe structural damage (some parts of both ships are even open to space!), main power is down, propulsion is out, and the radiation levels are so high that the hull will only protect the crew for so long, and is entirely too high for a shuttlecraft to survive long enough to be able to get clear of the subspace disturbances it generates to go to warp, while the interference blocks all communications.
For our intrepid crew to make sufficient repairs to at least break orbit and push far enough before everyone is microwaved and/or the radiation levels, subspace disruptions and rapidly shifting gravimetric conditions break the ship apart, they are forced to cooperate with the enemy who also requires their assistance; but the damage suffered by the Mac is such that even if they succeed at making sufficient repairs to get to a safe distance from the anomaly, they will be in no shape to defend themselves or run from the foe with whom they would be forced to strike a bargain with.
Will our crew make it out in one piece?
Start Point: Mac gets ripped out of warp while in hot pursuit
Conclusion: Mac gets far enough away from the anomaly to not be microwaved to bits and call for a tow... and hopefully does not need to surrender to the foe.
Departments required: All
