[ Seamus - Blue Beta] Occasionally Seamus would glance in the direction of Leanna's office, resisting the urge to check on her, especially after seeing her stumble earlier. Knowing her as long as he had, the Irishman was quite intuitive when something didn't seem right with the Betazoid. However also knew when to interfere and when not to especially having been on the receiving end of her temper once or twice in her time. Deciding to leave it for the moment, Seamus focused on work, especially when T'Laara entered and made her way to an empty booth. Putting on his best smile, the Manager collected her usual breakfast order from the kitchen and carried it over to the now occupied booth. " Good morning T'Laara, here's your usual order and is there anything else I can get for you?".

[Park, Front Ear] The familiar voice beside him sounded strange and far away, as if Unique was whispering through Ic’s fog of false waking. Perhaps it was. The plant was always plain and honest, the way Ic long aspired to be, but perhaps, too, it was learning from him and his many bad habits. Or maybe it was trying to help, though it wasn’t telling him anything he didn’t already know. Even if being reminded sent a pang through his ribs. His impulse was to apologize for this, too, but he kept the feeling nameless, for his friend’s sake, even though he didn’t sense disapproval in it the way he’d have expected to around a humanoid. Ic sat in the heavy lull for a twisting, reaching moment, discomfited by Unique’s question, growing even quieter. Why? it wanted to know. Why was he sorry for every little thing?(He supposed it might be normal for the phenomenon, if it were one, genuinely. He imagined it must have been the brain stuck in a pattern of delta waves that caused one to be absent from one’s senses, or vice versa. Even though this had never happened before, he wasn’t certain he should be worried. It had been a long month of heightened emotion and little sleep. It must have been everything catching up with him. The therapist had warned him that it would only be a matter of time before it did.) “...I mess up a lot.” he explained plaintively, cheek on arm on grass as he lay beside his friend. “I don’t want people to think I’m doing it on purpose, you know? And I respect them, including you, and your agency and your time. And your senses. I know I'm loud. So when I go and accidentally take advantage of or violate expectations, I’m sorry that I’ve done it. If I say I’m sorry before I feel their disappointment, sometimes it’s not so bad.”Except they were almost always already feeling it by the time the word found its way out. How strange this was so easy to admit. “Not that you would be upset with me, it’s just… ingrained.”

[Ensign Evorís - Operations, Front Ear] The commanding officer— Captain Thea Baker, he recalled— approached, and Evorís wondered if she could feel it, too. ( Nothing.) Perhaps that was the cause of her approach—? No; only a mind meld from another Vulcan could accurately determine the state of his katra. “Nothing of significance,” he said, because there was always something happening on the station. He had record of almost every communication in the area— little blips on the screen indicating combadge signals, and above it, subspace radio. But there was nothing directed toward them, and nothing of importance in the sensors beyond that. It was, by all official accounts, an extremely normal day. But something was wrong, missing, and Evorís bit the inside of his cheek to keep from saying it; nothing about losing your katra was logical, nor should it be of concern to his superiors. As far as he was aware, it was only him, and only he was to blame. He met her eye, and quickly amended his statement, suddenly realizing his impolite behavior. (It was odd for him to be so slow in his social interactions. Exhaustion could be to blame, but he dismissed the excuse— pathetic, he was duly reminded.) “—désolé. Bonjour, ah, good morning, Captain. Are you well?”

[Operations - Front Ear] To hear that there was nothing of significance to report, was reassuring to the Captain. Front Ear was such a hub of activity that things were never really quiet or boring so she was quite happy that everything was well as it should be. " Excellent, keep me updated Ensign" Thea replied, before Evoris seemed to realise who he was speaking to and began to speak in French until he switched to standard in his greeting. Being a Doctor, Thea could tell that something had distracted the Ensign. However hoped that by answering him and asking a question in return, that he would be comfortable enough to share, unless she was wrong with her intuition. Granted she could be but still she spoke in the same warm tone, as she responded. " A little tired but other than that I'm well, thank you Ensign and how about yourself?, settling in okay?".

[PO1 Jovireh Velal - Front Ear - Promenade Security Office]A smile lit up her own features as she received the excited response she had been hoping for. "Of course, this only affects your regular shifts on the station. You'll still be available for missions on the Mac and Kerelia, and anything else you might be needed for. I'll be your direct supervisor here, whether I'm officially on duty or not, so don't hesitate to reach out if you're having problems or concerns about something." There was something else she was going to say, but it was getting difficult to focus through the spreading headache. Her expression faltered just slightly as she reached towards a PADD. "I'll let Taggert know of the transfer and start working on your new... schedule... " A sudden wave of dizziness blurred her vision, as she dropped the PADD to press her fingers against her throbbing temple. Perhaps this wasn't a stress migraine after all... Tag Eliska Bremmer [Unique - Front Ear - Park]The plant listened attentively, always eager to learn more about those who came to visit it. What this one described sounded familiar. "Doran has told me People suffer damage to their minds that affect their behavior. It is his purpose to assist others heal their damage. Perhaps he can help you heal your mind?" The concept of emotions was one it was still learning. Disappointment was one it had yet to experience. Ic seemed to be concerned about emotions, both his own and others'. It wanted to learn more. Its bud tilted again, and there was a pause as though the plant was attempting to recall the correct words for the question it wanted to ask. "Our last visit, you spoke about others you were concerned about. Their opinions and emotions towards you. I would like to learn more about it." Doran's explanations were very enlightening, but mainly focused on the emotions themselves. Rarely did he discuss the influence they had between People. It hoped Ic would be able to explain. [Park, Front Ear] “It’s pretty much that, yeah. You're right,” Ic returned shyly, unsure if the plant could even hear him. If his own direct thoughts were as faint to it as its were to him, he didn’t think it made it—but it felt wrong to “shout,” especially if his volume was normal within the chlorophyll. Besides, it might have given Unique a weird impression that he agreed with enthusiasm or something. He agreed, but with a vacancy that pressurized in his eyes and ears. In fact, he was very nervous about scheduling Doran, as much for his sake as everyone else’s; it was all too likely Ic would burn him out the way the he’d done his last Betazoid provider. He gotten clingy with her, even a little dependent, but he’d been thirteen then, and that was a whole slew of other things. Doran, on the other hand, was attractive, and that would create a whole new problem he would never dare breach. On the other hand, there was so much less he would have to explain. Ic had to strain to hear Unique’s request in words, though the soft and verdant tone remained present and steady, like music with the lyrics mixed out, a soundtrack to one's own thoughts. (Why did his own seem so loud?) Tension eased in the request to learn, but only slightly. “—actually, that’s exactly what I wanted to talk with you about today, thank you. Um.” Deep breath. Heavy sigh. Flood of teal in motion. He’d almost forgotten every item on the list of thoughts he’d made last night. It was only color and Cascata, a pipe dream. “Well… does your kind form... um… romantic attachments, at all? Do you experience each other and think to yourselves that you’d do anything to have your vines entangled with theirs, or am I being ridiculous?”

[ T’Laara - Blue Beta] T’Laara looked down at the PADD, but found herself reading the same line over again without fully absorbing it. Then she glanced up sharply as someone spoke next to her. She recognized Seamus, one of the Blue Beta's staff, with her usual simple order of Vulcan spice tea and a blueberry muffin. He had appeared with almost startling promptness… or perhaps her mind was still half asleep. “Thank you. That will be all. I am unsure whether this is a particularly good morning, but I wish you one as well.”Leanna Mazal

[ Seamus - Blue Beta] It didn't take a genius or for him to be telepathic to know when someone was having one of those mornings as T'Laara answered him. Even if he hadn't seen something similar in Lea not so long ago, years of experience and being around his Betazoid friend had taught him the signs and he liked to think that he was a good listener for those who wanted to offload so to speak. Besides he wouldn't be a very good Barman, if he didn't at least give T'Laara the chance to talk if she wanted to, before he left her. " It hasn't been too bad so far and I'm sorry to hear, that you're not having a particularly good morning. If you want to talk about it all, I've been told that I'm a good listener" he replied sincerely, although would completely understand if the scientist wanted to be left alone.

[Leanna's Office - Blue Beta]
Entering her inner sanctum did little to assuage the uneasiness and exhaustion that had taken over the Bar Owner. However rather than panic or let her lack of control take over, Leanna had gone over to the sofa and sat down. The comfortable cushions and tholian silk throws, did their job in soothing her whilst the newly installed fish tank, provided a much needed distraction. The multi coloured fish darted about, interacting with one another or feeding from the automatic feeder, becoming as mesmerising as their holographic counterparts back in her quarters.
At least here, she didn't have to worry about Shadow trying to pounce at the fish or Aven attempting to poke at them. That was exactly why she had chosen the virtual version for home as her consolation prize and how the team building exercise had provided the perfect opportunity to finally get it done. Circumstances had prevented her until then and that had also inspired her to get the real thing in her office. It added a certain extra peacefulness to the atmosphere, especially with how hectic it could get in here and so took a few moments to appreciate the fish and the chance to just breath.
However it wasn't long before the vivid colours began to blur together and swirl as if she was caught in some kind of spinning vortex. Unable to shake it off as her eyes became heavy and the Betazoid finally succumbed to the tiredness that had been plaguing her.

[ Cwm Eliska Bremmer - Promenade Security Office - Front Ear Station ]The caveats that came with her her accepting the position were nothing surprising to Eliska. Requirements of the service would of course take precedence on anything else. If she was needed elsewhere, well, so be it. But at least, she would have a nice, predictable place of duty more often than not, rather than fall victim to any holes that might be in the roster on a day to day basis. However, just following establishing she would be her immediate supervisor, and that the chief would be notified so he'd have to alter his planning, Jov's PADD clattered onto the desk as she brought her hands to her temples, looking most decidedly in pain. "You all right, Boss?" she asked as her hand reached across the desk to the Petty Officer's shoulder as if to steady her in place.

[PO1 Jovireh Velal - Front Ear - Promenade Security Office]Eliska's voice sounded distant, the words echoing in her mind as though being asked from down an empty corridor. The touch on her shoulder was thus startling, but her reactions were sluggish as the dizziness only got worse instead of passing after a few moments. Something was definitely wrong. "No," she replied after a moment, her own voice feeling heavy in her mouth. Jovireh squeezed her eyes shut to block out the tilting room, but it didn't help. She moved to stand from the chair, only to feel the deck lurch beneath her, tossing her sideways. Her hands scrambled across the desk to catch herself, sending the stack of reports clattering to the floor, but the movement was futile as she collapsed, unconscious before she even landed. Tag Eliska Bremmer [Unique - Front Ear - Park]It was pleasing to hear that its requested topic of discussion was already within the Person's intent to discuss. Unique gave Ic its full attention, though confusion swiftly set in. 'Romantic attachments' was not something it had learned about yet, and the description provided made it pause. There was an unpleasant sensation in its stalk as it considered the question, and the bud withdrew slightly, leaves pulling closer to itself. This was a new feeling, and though it had no words to know what it was, it did not like it. "I do not know," it answered almost hesitantly. "The Nurturers brought me here before I Awakened. I have never met another like me." That had never bothered it before, until this moment. Now it found itself wanting to know the answer to a question it would never be able to receive. Did the Others experience such a draw to intermingle? It didn't even have another One to ask. Tag Ic Arbrell

[Ensign Enola - hallways]
Enola continued to bravely make her way through the station, this time trying to remember the ceiling layout. Even though she wasn't really good at memorizing right now, it was good to stretch her legs and walk. Maybe it would help her meditate later on. As she strolled through the corridors, a little lost in thought but still aware of her surroundings, she suddenly felt dizzy. It was as if the front of Ear Station was under attack, but somehow Enola could not protect herself from it. Normally she would just try to hold on to the corridors, but somehow that didn't work. She could walk without the danger of falling over, but she had to constantly feel along the corridor wall with her hand. And what was even stranger: the people who were in her presence were all walking normally and didn't seem to have any major problems keeping themselves on their feet. Finally, the half-Vulcan stopped and took a very deep breath. One could literally think she was trying to breathe back control. A little tentatively, she took a path that led her back into a part of the Front Ear Station that was occupied by a few more people. Just in case something happened that she couldn't foresee. She grabbed her head with two fingers and pressed against it. There is no need to worry, you are a Vulcan, Enola! Self-control personified! Act accordingly! With that, she turned around and in a quick step made her way even deeper into the belly of Front Ear and back to where it was teeming with people. But no matter. Playing it safe was always the smartest decision.

[Operations, Front Ear] He nodded in acknowledgement of both her directive and cordial response. He was still getting used to the idea that commanding officers should pay him mind outside of a means to an end, but to her credit, the kindness did appear to be genuine. “Just fine, thank you,” he replied, managing to remain in Federation Standard despite his uneasiness. (Evorís was not a stranger to delirium, but it had never come without cause.) He paused, feeling the mental exhaustion deepen and deplete the hue of his thoughts. It spread through his limbs, and he considered the potential side effects of losing one’s katra. Perhaps Enola, who was more familiar with Vulcan spirituality and meditation, would have information on the matter. His posture faltered for only a moment, soon corrected by Vulcan will and one pointed, creased eyebrow. This kind of weakness was not built into his physiology, and it was this realization that spurred him to once again address the Captain. “Actually,” he began softly, accent thick and surprisingly imprecise. He corrected it and continued. “I am currently experiencing an odd, sourceless fatigue, possibly related to Vulcan katra. Permission to contact Intelligence Ensign Enola for her expertise?”

[ T’Laara - Blue Beta] Seamus clearly meant well with his (very human) offer. However, even if she had wished to share, T’Laara did not have a logical explanation as to why this was not a good morning. That was part of the problem, but she was not going to say as much aloud. “Thank you, however, I have not experienced anything this morning which merits discussion.” She started to reach for the teacup, but instead raised a hand to her temple at a sudden wave of dizziness. [ Cwm Eliska Bremmer - Promenade Security Office - Front Ear Station ]Already when she was reaching out to her new boss, Eliska could see Petty Officer Velal was woozy; when her hand made contact, she appeared to be surprised by the touch, but her reactions were as though she was operating in slow-motion like those old vids. That wasn't right. However, when she answered a simple question with but one word, which came out of her mouth sluggishly and somewhat off, it was clear that she was not all right. For some reason she tried to rise, but down she went, taking stacks of PADDs and isolinear chips down with her as she did, the Human leapt out of her own seat and vaulted the desk, scattering some of the few bits of paraphernalia that were still on it and sending the terminal crashing near the far bulkhead as she did to. Crouching next to Velal, it hardly took a doctor to see she was unconscious, but at least she was still visibly breathing. Well, at least that was good enough news. But something needed doing, so she slapped at her commbadge. =A= "Crewman Bremmer to Ops! Medical emergency in the Promenade Security Office!
