K'oshor couldn't hide the grin on his face anymore. That scowl just seemed to soften when he looked on as the young boy held the kitten. Some might find a Klingon that has been taken in by such an adorable feline, an oddity. Yet, that didn't seem the case here. He loved Tigger, and cared for him. Often they ate live food together and shared an intense bond.
He noticed another small child had joined them. The one boy turned to the other and proclaimed the name of the feline for the other child to hear, and his warmed K'oshor's Klingon heart greatly.
Then the commander mentioned his file. He merely nodded at this showing her the respect she deserved for someone in her station. he relaxed more now that there was little worry of being in trouble for the feline escaping his quarters. He was watching over the two boys and Tigger. His attention for now there.
He turned toward the new arrival, and the strange creature she kept company with and found himself mildly interested.
"The boys are alright to enjoy Tigger's greatness," he exclaimed proudly as any Klingon should. "If that is alright commander?" He was asking premission. "He, as in Tigger seems to like you as well Michael. You as well Evekh." He didn't mind as much anymore that his kitten, now six months old had gotten out. Still he have words with his visiting sister who had come to do what she called, checking up on him. He let the Commander and other Ensign talk of New York, while he paid attention to the two small boys, and Tigger.
He was mildly concerned about the other creatures arrival and if need be may have to go on the defensive. He turned toward Ozu Saya and nodded. "Ensign K'oshor. My pleasure," he said reaching out his quite large hand toward her. Tigga, Evekh repeated after his friend, reaching out a small hand to pat the kitten's side. He'd learned early to be gentle with pets between his own family's odd pet and Auntie Judy's corgis. Saya and Kyo approached the group finally, Kyo crouching down to gently turn Evekh to face him. The toddler tried to avoid his father's eyes, but Kyo waited patiently until Evekh finally looked at him. Are you supposed to run away from Mama and Daddy? he asked. Evekh shook his head and pointed at the kitten in his friend's arms. I know. It's a very cute kitten. But it's dangerous to run from Mama and Daddy, even if you see people you know. Don't do it again.Evekh's chin dropped to his chest as he nodded contritely at the rebuke. Kyo let him go, and Evekh turned back to pet Tigger. Sorry about that, Kyo said, standing. We're still working on him staying with us when we're out.Hello, Judy, Ensign Quinn, and I'm afraid I don't know you, Saya said to the Klingon. Alieth approached the children and attempted to sniff at the kitten. This was a creature she'd never smelled before. "Your father and I were practically neighbors, then, setting aside the time gap," Judy observed to Quinn. The time gap, of course, stemmed from the fact that her Starfleet career had taken Judy places, and that the family home she'd raised her younger two kids in during her Earth postings was a ways beyond the Palisades. Then, she turned to Saya and Kyo. "You know, they don't stop running on you. They just get sneakier," she remarked. "This little fella's father, Lawrence, only really stopped being a handful when Michael here came about."She kept an attentive eye on the animals and kids, hoping that nothing would go wrong. Of course, if anything did, Judy could probably take care of it with a dermal regenerator and grandmotherly hugs. Ozu Saya [Ens. Isaiah Quinn - Promenade, Front Ear Station] Isaiah nodded at Commander Eastman's comment about she and her father practically being neighbors. His initial concerns had taken a backseat to this commonality that he had with Commander Eastman. In fact, he had to admit that he was seeing her in a slightly different light. Nothing that detracted from how he saw her professionally, but there was definitely a great deal more than the generic presumptions that had been there before. As much could be seen by how she interacted with the children, and the advice she'd given to Chief Ozu and her husband. He definitely had a great deal more to learn about the Commander. As Chief Ozu arrived and gave greetings, Isaiah nodded doing the same. "Hello, Chief," he said with a nod before turning his attention her husband. "Mr. Domen." He supposed he could have greeted them a bit less informally, but he still felt as if he had to get to know them a bit better. Until then, it was out of courtesy and respect that he addressed them as such. He thought about the advice that Commander Eastman was giving the couple about their son running off, but growing more cunning at it in lieu of actual obedience. "Sneakier? That's an interesting choice of words, ma'am," Isaiah said. Though, the more he thought about it, and the game of cat and mouse he'd played with his own parents, he couldn't deny its aptness. "I may need to call and apologize to my mother."

[Ens. K'oshor, son of Khorshurk - Promenade, Front Ear Station] He allowed the other’s to talk while overseeing the duty of being a cat monitor, and making sure the two young boys were safe. When he was told by the woman she didn’t know him he accepted that. It was true after all. What he knew was that she was the Chief. Quite an important role, he noted. “Hence the greeting Chief,” he said, trying his best to introduce himself. From what he could tell she was Vulcan-Bajoran . K’osh didn’t mind it so much that his attempts to be civil while on duty to the others had gone as they had. His attention was again on the two boys and the cat. The other pet still had his curiosity. “I’m interested to know what kind of creature this might be with your premission of course Chief,” he said looking at the other creature. Hoping little harm would come to Tigger. This was the extent of his attempt to make small talk. Often he didn’t while on duty. At least both children seemed content. His attention once more turned there way. “If it’s alright Commander,” he said, not meaning to interrupt the conversation. “The boys are welcome to enjoy the cat’s company for some time,” he stated, not minding at all. Tigger was in the boy's arm and snuggling against him, and didn’t seem to mind that he was being sniffed. “The kitten is quite harmless, and yes he is adorable,” K’osh commented. “Children tend to be great at being sneaky,” K’osh begins. “While I was a boy I was quite fond of it myself.” “He is a great feline warrior , but at the loving touch seems to curl up and pur,” and as K’osh said this Tigger begins to purr.

[ Chief Ozu Saya, Domen Kyo, Domen Evekh - Promenade] Ensign K'oshor, Saya responded with a nod to the Klingon, clasping her hands in front of her. I am sorry to be rude, but I try to avoid physical contact with most people. I'm a touch-empath.She looked down at the children with a small smile. Judy, you are not instilling confidence. I would rather think that Evekh will learn, eventually. But she knew children didn't always follow the path parents laid out for them. In answer to K'oshor's question, she said, That is a rehkuh-stonn, from Vulcan. A, well, three-horn. Not a very creative name, I know. They are desert creatures, herbivorous and fairly docile. Alieth's mother was killed by a le-matya and she took refuge in my grandparents' walled garden while I was visiting them. They are not typically kept as pets, but Alieth was so young that she needed continuous care, so I ended up keeping her. She will use her horns to defend herself, but otherwise is quite harmless.Except to the ears, Kyo said ruefully. When she gets hurt or scared, she makes this dreadful noise that I'm told sounds kind of like a dying goose.Saya cleared her throat delicately. That is a downside.Kyo murmured to Isaiah, And we probably all need to apologize to our mothers for one thing or another. He grinned and chuckled, thinking back on his own shenanigans as a child.

[Cmdr. Judith Eastman(-Williams), Michael Eastman, & Anna Eastman Williams - Promenade]Judy noted the little awkwardness between the Chief and the Ensign, but it seemed to be more or less resolving, so she didn't pay it much mind. "You absolutely do owe your mothers an apology," she commented. "I lost my sense of smell from all the diapers I've changed, and it only gets worse from there. You can't imagine the mental toll it takes on you to do first-grade math in your 50s."Out of the corner of her eye, Judy caught a familiar figure. Pale, blonde, and weighed down by a backpack, it was distinctly the youngest of Judy's children. "Well, speak of the devil," Judy said to the group. "ANNA!" she then hollered, catching the teenager's attention and drawing her over. At 14 years of age, Anna looked very much like a younger version of Judy, down to the prominent nose. "Hi, mom," the young woman greeted. "Why don't we sit down?" Judy asked the group. "I can just see Michael dropping Tigger.""I won't drop him. I'm strong. Look how happy he is!" Michael disagreed.

[Ens. Isaiah Quinn - Promenade, Front Ear Station] Isaiah couldn't help but notice that both K'oshor and Kyo were quick to agree that they had done their fair share of sneakiness. Seeing that he wasn't in the minority was only a brief comfort. Especially as Commander Eastman pointed out that an apology was hardly negotiable. And he begun to wonder how questionable his hygiene questions were. He stopped short of sniffing himself, and simply replied, "I'll be sure to call her this evening, and send much nicer Mother's Day gift."Quinn turned his attention to the Chief as she remarked about the name of their pet. She pointed out that it wasn't really creative, but Vulcans were hardly remarked for their creativity. "Still, it's practical," he commented as he listened to the rest of the details she shared about the creature. There was only a mild curiosity about how it had adapted to life here, considering it traditionally dwelt in desert environment. He made a mental note to ask her about it some time, believing the others may not wish to delve too deeply into a scientific discussion. It was then that they were joined by the commander's daughter, Anna. "Miss Williams," Isaiah said greeting her with a nod. As the commander remarked that they find somewhere to sit, Quinn's eyes searched for an area that would accommodate them all. "How about over there," he suggested. It was an area near the replimats, but there were plenty of open seats. He smiled as he heard Michael protest the lack of confidence in his strength.

He should better have understood that she may be an empath. “I am just a bit too eager at times to let others get to know me,” he stated further. He didn’t want someone assuming because he was Klingon that he would at moment’s notice stab them in the chest, or murder them for some accidental insult. “I tend to try and make it a point that I’m open to being friendly, as the need for it at times is crucial when one is in our position.” K’oshor, son of Khorshurk decided that maybe, just maybe, giving his own Mother might be a good idea. He hadn’t spoken with her since he served on the Gavinsmith. From what he had guessed from his own visiting sister his own Mother was not too happy with him about this. Where she might have been angry at his leaving to join Starfleet at first, she told him that she’d never let his name be a dishonorable one in their honorable house. Now, Judy, Kyo said teasingly as they all moved toward the indicated tables. It's not like a baby has control over the diaper thing. You can't blame us for that.
Hey, Anna, he added as the teenager joined them.
Saya rolled her eyes at the discussion of diapers. That had been one of her least favorite things when Evekh was a baby. Her nose was sensitive. She did offer Isaiah a small smile. Vulcans are eminently practical, even when they name things.
She gave K'oshor a reassuring nod. There is no harm done, and no offense taken. Openness to new experiences is a laudable trait. Saya knew whereof she spoke. After figuratively kicking and screaming the first few times Judy had tried to introduce her to new things, she had discovered that it was far easier to go along with her suggestions, and the majority of the time, Judy had been right. The few disasters had taught Judy to be more cautious in her suggestions to Saya, which had in turn made Saya trust her more since she knew that Judy wouldn't continue to push her toward things that she'd determined weren't for her. Or things that made her sick, like stinky cheeses.
You should certainly visit Vulcan if you have the opportunity. The heat can be difficult to bear, but some of the sights are worth it. Mt. Seleya, she said, trailing off to give Judy a small grin.

[Cmdr. Judith Eastman(-Williams), Anna Eastman Williams & Michael Eastman - Promenade]Judy rather astutely noted Quinn's correct use of her daughter's last name. "I see someone did their homework," she quipped. "In any case, yes, that area will be fine, and you two can really relax a little," she then added, before turning her attention to Anna. "You see those two drinks over there? Grab them, and then I'll let you get whatever treat you'd like.""Yes, Commander," Anna answered, using Judy's rank in a teasing manner as the family tended to do. Judy took a seat at one of the tables, and Michael sat down beside her, with Tigger in his lap. She then addressed Saya's comment, as Anna returned. "Yeah, Vulcan has its charm, provided you have access to a kitchen," she recalled. "Vulcan cuisine is... far too bland, for my tastes. I like my food either spicy, garlicky, or both.""Grandma uses garlic in everything," Michael shared. "Do you guys like garlic?"

He listened as Kyo tried to mount a defense saying that they couldn't be blamed for diapers as babies. Though what came afterwards was a different point altogether. Isaiah could certainly recall some very strange odors coming from his gym bag around the time he was a teenager. Still, he thought it best to keep that bit of information to himself, so that he didn't sabotage Kyo's defense. Isaiah certainly took Chief Ozu's words to heart as she described Vulcans as being eminently practical. "I can't argue with you there, Chief," he said. He thought of how Lt. T'Shrek tended to hand out assignments. While she was occasionally open to negotiation on some of those assignments. It wasn't uncommon to leave the conversation feeling as if you had no right to disagree in the first place. Commander Eastman made not of someone doing their homework. He quickly assumed the comment was directed towards him, since the comment came shortly after his greeting her daughter. He nodded with a smile. "Yes, ma'am," he replied simply. When she made the comment that the two of them needed to relax a little, he glanced in K'oshor's direction. He was pretty sure that she had meant those two. Of course, it wasn't uncommon for ensigns to walk around eggshells in the presence of senior officers, at least in the beginning. Though, when Anna replied to Commander Eastman's request to grab some drinks, Isaiah smiled. "I'll relax around the same time she does, Commander," Isaiah said with a slight chuckle in response to overhearing Anna address her mother as Commander.

[Ens. K'oshor, son of Khorshurk - Promenade, Front Ear StationThe Commander had pretty much given the okay to relax. K'osh why normally only one for relaxing off duty wasn't going to simply ignore her request to simply relax. “I shall relax then,” he said relaxing both his shoulders and back somewhat. K'osh nodded when Vulcan was mentioned. He grinned, “I am Klingon after all I'm sure I can handle a little Vulcan heat,” he said in a way to declare he could handle such a challenge. “Is this mountain challenging to climb?”, he asked. He had sequred the table and chairs easily enjoy for them all to sit down, yet he remained standing for now. Ladies first, he thought to himself. He had manners. “Vulcan food isn't so bad Command-,” he said stopping himself, “What should I address you as Command-,” and he stopped himself again. He wasn't sure what he should call her. Also it was quite hard for him to relax given that he was in fact still on duty at the moment. The talk of food was making him listen fully now. "If you like spicey then you should try my cooking," he let Judy know offering her the option. K'osh stood there with his arms over his chest grinning now. When the question of garlic came up K'osh just simply nodded. He didn't have the heart to tell him that he perfered other flavor in his meals then just garlic. He had no desire to dampen the young boys mood. K'osh liked him. "I shall sit if Michael joins me?" He finnally said.

[Saya, Kyo, Evekh - Promenade]
As they settled in to seats, Kyo leaned over and murmured to Saya, standing again when she nodded and passing Alieth's leash to her while he went over to the replimat to get drinks for Saya, Evekh and himself.
Saya answered K'oshor after she had a good hold of Alieth; the three-horn was curious about all of these new people and was making her way from one person to another to check them out. There are challenging trails up Mt. Seleya; however, Judy and I drove most of the way to the top, then walked the rest of the distance with our instruments. We had quite an enjoyable sunrise mini-concert. She smiled over at Judy at the memory.

[Cmdr. Judith Eastman(-Williams), Anna Eastman Williams & Michael Eastman - Promenade]"You're welcome to call me Judy, for as long as we're enjoying this little break," Judy answered K'oshor's question to the whole group. "Allow me to fantasize, if only for a brief while, about not having a metric ton of paperwork on my desk.""I'd love to try your cooking, young man, but you'll have to allow me to extend an invitation to you first," she then added. "The same goes for the rest of you. Max - my husband - and I both love cooking; he's actually a chef by profession.""I cook too!" Michael interjected. "Can Mr. K'oshor cook with us sometime, Grandma?""Well, I can't order him to," Judy replied, giving the Klingon officer a warm, welcoming smile. With his eyes, Michael tried to summon K'oshor to the open chair next to him. Anna, meanwhile, had gone to fetch herself a drink, and returned with a large iced coffee, rather dark. It was a choice by the daughter that was most evocative of the mother.

The Commander had pretty much given the okay to relax.
"You're welcome to call me Judy, for as long as we're enjoying this little break," Judy answered K'oshor's question to the whole group. [Ens. Isaiah Quinn - Promenade, Front Ear Station] As Isaiah listened to the conversation once everyone found a seat, his eyes first watched the younger kids, fell upon the source of movement. It seemed the Chief's three horn was curious about all the surrounding bodies. He watched the smaller creature with much of the same curiosity he assumed it likely had. Still, he found his attention captured by one of the details that Chief Ozu shared about Mr. Seleya. "Wait. Instruments?" he said looking between Chief Ozu and Commander Eastman. "You two play?" His interest was clearly piqued. "What instruments do you play? He was already curious if there would be any recitals in their future? Though, what did seem more likely was a dinner party. It seemed that K'oshor could possibly join the Eastman-Williams family in cooking possibly for such a gathering. Isaiah was certainly not in a rush to offer his own culinary talents, which were currently limited to the replicator and a team-building exercise on the Holodeck. "It'd be an honor..., Isaiah recalled her earlier request. Somehow, he just couldn't bring himself to address the commander as 'Judy.' "... ma'am."

[Ens. K'oshor, son of Khorshurk - Promenade, Front Ear StationFinding himself relaxing more had become easier. He laughed, which was a deep throaty chuckle. "Mt. Seleya sounds like my kind of climb," he explained further. At least it was no space walk, he thought with a shudder. The mention of instruments caught his attention and he raised an eyebrow at Saya. He too played an instrument, and sang. He was curious, however. "I too play," he stated boldly. He was relaxing now, and enjoying it. He was enjoying his new assigment far more then his last that was for sure. He liked Judy quite a bit, he told himself. He was much different then his last Commander, who was a bit of a hard ass. "The Klingon guitar that is." He chuckled at Judy, "Then I shall call you Judy," he nodded toward her. "Sometimes," he admitted to Judy. "I am in need of relaxing, as I tend to not do so while on duty." His last Commander was simply by the book. Not that he was a bad officer he just tended to expect everyone to follow the rule book to an exact tee. "By all means if you are here Judy enjoying yourself, then so shall I." He told her. He didn't order anything for himself just, yet. "I shall be honored if given such an invite then if one is given," he told both Judy and Michael. The small child was growing on him. "If your Grandma wishes it then I'd consider it an honor," he told the boy. "I see," K'osh said when Judy mentioned that her husband was a chef. "I tend to favor adding Klingon foods to what I like to make, as it gives it that extra little kick." He said with a slight warning. He was quite enjoying the talk about cooking. "No need to make it an order," he told Judy then turned to Michael. "I'd be honored to cook side by side with you Michael," he told the boy with a smile. He watch over the boy and allow the Commander to relax some.

[ Saya, Kyo, Evekh - Promenade] Kyo returned with cups of tea for Saya and himself and a smaller cup with a lid that was obviously for Evekh, but the toddler was too absorbed with the kitten to care about a drink right then. Saya smiled up at Kyo before responding to Quinn's enthusiastic question. I play the cello and the Vulcan harp. And I play the bassoon and the Bajoran tivara. I used to play with a professional symphony, but we've played together a lot over the years, Kyo said with a grin, gesturing between himself and Saya and Judy. Our families have spent a lot of time traveling together. And Saya with Judy's family long before we met. In fact, we met on one of their trips. Literally ran into each other. The corners of his eyes crinkled as he grinned at the memory.
