[Ens. K'oshor, son of Khorshurk - Promenade, Front Ear Station]
K'oshor, son of Khorshurk was on duty. His shift had yet to end, but he did not mind. He enjoyed walking about the station, while keeping the peace. While his shift was nearly it's likey outcome of ending, the Ensign didn't mind. He was here to prove himself. He wouldn't be passed up again for something medical. He was quite the capable security officer.
A woman shouted, "Cat on the promenade," and as she said this K'oshor's head turned. The woman seemed to jump out of the way of the feline and nearly fall off the Promenade, by falling over the rail. Yet, K'oshor caught her. "Your alright now, Ma’am," he told her as he moved her from the railing. The woman nodded and backed away.
He turned to look about the Promenade for the small feline. His often stoic seemingily menacing scowl seemed to soften, into a slight grin. The small white, stripped with black and tan fur, kitten fit his namesake. K'oshor knew he could be quite the handleful. With a quick stride he scooped the kitten into his large hand and brought him close to his grinning face. "Trying to get me into trouble I see," he told the kitten smiling down at it as he cuddled the feline close to his chest.
The kitten as hyper as ever somehow found a way to escape the confines of the quaters in which he was to reside. K'oshor certainly knew the kitten fit his name sake, and no way was he angry. "Everything is alright now. You can go back to your busniess," he told everyone.

[Ens. Isaiah Quinn - Promenade, Front Ear Station] Isaiah's eyes were glued to the calculations on his PADD. Thus far, he had managed to successfully navigate the crowds on the promenade without bumping into anyone. He had been trying to make certain that he had calculated the trajectory of a red comet. It had become something of interest since it had been detected on long range sensors. It was supposed to be moving towards the Iyaar system. Isaiah was supposed to accompany Lt. T'Shrek and the rest of the team as they took a runabout to run some preliminary scans. If it panned out, perhaps Captain Ellis would want to get a closer look at with the Mac. A red comet was somewhat a rarity. Isaiah was curious what the mineral composition was that gave it its color. With any luck, he'd find out tomorrow. The sound of a woman crying out captured his attention. He watched as a security officer managed to pull her away and regain her balance. He made his way to the nearest staircase. As he approached the woman seemed fine and the the culprit... the one responsible was already in custody. "Well, it looks like you already have everything in hand," Isaiah commented. "Literally."He moved closer to the security officer and cat's owner. "How many times is that, K'osh?" Isaiah asked the Klingon. First of all, being a Klingon in general, he was hard to miss. Being a Klingon in Starfleet, well... you tended to stand out. "And where do you think it's off to all the time? A hot date?"

[Ens. K'oshor, son of Khorshurk - Promenade, Front Ear Station] K'oshor had not planned for this disbrubance during his duty shift. He would have to have a talk with his yougest visiting sister on proper station procedure later, he told himself. "Clearly," he told his fellow officer. Yes, K'osh had met him before. If he recalled, Isaiah, was in fact a science officer. K'osh noted the PADD but didn't feel the need to say much on the matter. Sometimes stating the obvious wasn't needed. In this case, it wasn't. "If your inquiring on the status of why there is a cat on the promenade Ensign Quinn. This was not my doing, nor am I at fault for this particular occurrence," he told his fellow officer. He was always formal when on duty. He didn't mind being called K'osh, a human equivlent of a nickname either. He did not believe he needed to bring that up either. With his fellow officers last remark he simply grinned. He found it slightly amusing. "If he is inclined to do so then yes," he replied. K'osh was amused at the remark, yet he was on duty and remained professional. Yes, he would certainly have to have that talk with his sister, visting or not clearly he would not stand for letting the cat out. He was concerned for the well being of his cat, and quite glad Tigger was of course safe. He petted the cat with his large hand, and the reponse from the cat was a purr.

[Cmdr. Judith Eastman(-Williams) & Michael Eastman - Promenade, Front Ear Station]Judy appreciated the chance to play the part of hands-on grandma, now that her son Lawrence was visiting the station with his children. Michael, the oldest of the pack of grandchildren, was also a great fan of Judy's, and enjoyed sitting in her office and doodling as she worked on paperwork. He also enjoyed accompanying her to coffee breaks, as was the case now. Judy sipped on a decaf macchiato, 6-year-old Michael slurped a very sweet berry smoothie, until they caught sight of the commotion. "Grandma, you should check that out," Michael told his grandmother, as he then took off towards the Klingon-human-cat group. "Mikey," Judy admonished, but it was too late. The old, bespectacled blonde lady took off after the young, bespectacled blonde kid to the group. "Michael, you know Grandma shouldn't run," Judy scolded her grandson, and then looked apologetically at the two Ensigns he had run towards. "I'm sorry about that. He's a bit of a runner," she apologized, not letting her Commander's pips get her out of the situation. She noted the cat in the arms of the, presumably on-duty, Klingon Ensign. "Not the only runner here, I take it?""What's his name?" Michael asked, looking eagerly at the cat.

Naturally, the ensign was curious as to how Tigger had come to be there. It wasn't as if the cat could hit the panel to open the door. And the sensor had been calibrated so that small animals couldn't open the doors. "So, Tigger comes and goes as he pleases now?" Isaiah asked. As K'oshor grinned at Isaiah's comment the ensign shook his head. "I know that cats like to... prowl," he began, as he was searching for the right word. "... but, people might start complaining. And I figure the last thing you want is for a complaint like that to land on Commander Eastman's desk." It had simply been cautionary advice. Of course, the chances of anyone taking the time to pen an actual complaint to the station's executive officer were, slim to none at best. Soon, the pair of ensign found themselves joined by a young boy, who seemed quite interested in K'oshor's cat. "Whoa there, buddy," Isaiah said as he knelt down. "You have to be careful on the promenade. You don't want to run and have an accident." Isaiah looked around briefly before turning his attention back to the young boy. "You're not out here on your own, are you?"Isaiah then heard the voice of Commander Eastman as she approached. Isaiah's eyes widened. He assumed he'd have to recalculate those odds. It didn't take much for him to come to the conclusion that the boy that had joined them was her grandson. "Commander," Isaiah said greeting the woman as she inquired about K'oshor's cat.

First, it was that incident on Kerelia that had almost cost him his life, and now this. Granted, it wasn't necessarily a bad thing that Commander Eastman was there. Neither he or K'oshor were in trouble, as far as he knew. There just seemed to be a level of anonymity that came with being a junior officer. And having a conversation with the executive officer had a way of shredding that anonymity. Bottom line: Isaiah was hoping to avoid that 'Oh, it's you' moment that was on its way. He'd already gotten it a few times. He had simply been hoping to get any more. Besides, there was no way that Commander Eastman hadn't heard about what had happened on the planet. His eyes continued to scan for that flicker of recognition. His eyes also glanced at Michael as he held the cat. A slight smile appeared on his face at the sight.

He didn't plan to take the time to look it in Earth's database. "Your welcome," he told the boy with a grin. This was turning from a bad situation to that of one K'osh felt he could relax about, though somewhat, as he was still on duty. Which he took quite seriously. "Yes," he said, "he is quite cute," K'osh said with a straight face. He was glad that he nor his fellow officer weren't in trouble. Why, he didn't fear his commanding officer he didn't want to be seen as slacking on duty. Nor did he want to come to her attention as a issue. He just wanted to do his duty, to the best of his ability. And, to be given the repect for it when he did. "Ensign K'oshor Commander, security," he told the commander.

[ MCPO Ozu Saya, Domen Kyo, Domen Evekh - Promenade] Saya walked down the promenade with her family. They had eaten dinner in their quarters, then decided an outing would be nice. Kyo, an exceptionally tall Bajoran, held the leash of their pet, a Vulcan rehkuh-stonn, as the cat-sized green and orange creature pranced along in her harness, making occasional honking noises as she stopped to sniff the floor or check on her owners. Saya held the hand of their 3-year-old son, Evekh, as they proceeded. The toddler wanted to run with Alieth and look at everything, but his mother held onto him firmly. Maybe I need a leash for the child, she thought, then wondered what Judy would think of that idea. Saya smiled to herself. Suddenly, she felt a sharp tug as Evekh managed to pull free and run toward a group several meters away, shrieking, Micha at the older boy. Saya started to run after him, but realized he was headed straight for Judy, whom she knew would take care of Evekh until they could approach at a more sedate pace. She and Kyo gave each other puzzled looks as they realized that the group also included a Klingon who appeared to be holding a feline. Alieth got excited when Evekh took off and tried to run after him, straining at the end of her leash as she hit the end and Kyo didn't speed up at all.

Tag: Isaiah Quinn , Judith Eastman [Cmdr. Judith Eastman(-Williams) & Michael Eastman - Promenade, Front Ear Station]Judy noted the introductions from both Ensigns. Both names rang a bell to her, since she read everyone's personnel file on their arrival - K'oshor, because his name was so close to being "kosher", and Quinn, there was the Kerelian expedition, though her sexagenarian mind couldn't recall what role he'd played there, and there was one more thing. "I remember seeing both your files. Not much of the details, at my age," she told them both. "Mr. Quinn, you're from Brooklyn, aren't you? I'm from the Upper East Side, myself."Meeting another New Yorker out here wasn't quite as rare as meeting one from, say, a particular small town, but it was still something. As the daughter of former Mayor Diane Eastman (who served in the late 2340s and through the 50s), Judy was prone to being recognized as a Big Apple native by her last name, more so than the hints of accent on words like "yuge", at least among older people. They were promptly disrupted by the arrival of another familiar child. "Evekh!" Michael called out, turning carefully towards the other boy to present the cat. "His name is Tigger."In his capacity as the eldest of the pack, a 6-year-old, Michael had a self-bestowed sense of responsibility towards, and seniority over, his younger cousins, both biological and (as with Evekh) not. Judy initially looked at the ginger child with concern, but then saw his unmissable dad, which put her at ease.

K'oshor nodded in slight amusment to the young child's reaction. If only his sister felt the same way about the cat, then this problem wouldn't of happened. But, he couldn't be too upset. He was but didn't show it. He didn't wish to scare the child. He noted the child was more amused then scared. "Perhaps then you could one day explain to me what Winnie the Pooh is?" K'osh asked with a mere mild curosity then anything.
She and Kyo gave each other puzzled looks as they realized that the group also included a Klingon who appeared to be holding a feline. Alieth got excited when Evekh took off and tried to run after him, straining at the end of her leash as she hit the end and Kyo didn't speed up at all. Judy noted the introductions from both Ensigns. [Ens. Isaiah Quinn - Promenade, Front Ear Station] Isaiah listened briefly as K'oshor explained the origin of Tigger's name. He wondered if the Klingon had ever seen a holo-vid of Winnie the Pooh. He couldn't help but wonder what a conversation between K'oshor and a bear trying to eat honey from a tree would look like. Isaiah's lips curled into a smile as he thought more of K'oshor suggesting that he devour something live instead. As Commander Eastman pointed out that she had read both of their files, Isaiah found himself bracing for what was to come next. She stated that she wasn't one much for details, but surely she wouldn't have just overlooked that. Of course, when she addressed him by name personally, he assumed that it was coming. Though, the fact that she recalled that he was from Brooklyn seemed to put him at ease. "The Upper East Side?" he repated. "My father was a resident at Lennox Hill for years when I was growing up. Visited there... more than I care to admit, ma'am." Being an athlete, Isaiah proved to be rather impulsive at times. Naturally, his father wanted him to always get the best care: the care he approved of. So, any major injuries often ended up in the hands of his colleagues. The soon found themselves joined by Chief Ozu and her family. Well, it appeared her son had found his way over much sooner than the Chief and her husband. Isaiah watched as the boys seemed to marvel over the cat together. It seemed that Tigger was quite a hit. Though, it seemed that they had a feline (of sorts) of their own. At this rate, Isaiah was beginning to feel left out. He entertained the thought of taking on a gold fish, but quickly dismissed it.

K'oshor, son of Khorshurk - Promenade, Front Ear Station] K'oshor couldn't hide the grin on his face anymore. That scowl just seemed to soften when he looked on as the young boy held the kitten. Some might find a Klingon that has been taken in by such an adorable feline, an oddity. Yet, that didn't seem the case here. He loved Tigger, and cared for him. Often they ate live food together and shared an intense bond. He noticed another small child had joined them. The one boy turned to the other and proclaimed the name of the feline for the other child to hear, and his warmed K'oshor's Klingon heart greatly. Then the commander mentioned his file. He merely nodded at this showing her the respect she deserved for someone in her station. he relaxed more now that there was little worry of being in trouble for the feline escaping his quarters. He was watching over the two boys and Tigger. His attention for now there. He turned toward the new arrival, and the strange creature she kept company with and found himself mildly interested. "The boys are alright to enjoy Tigger's greatness," he exclaimed proudly as any Klingon should. "If that is alright commander?" He was asking premission. "He, as in Tigger seems to like you as well Michael. You as well Evekh." He didn't mind as much anymore that his kitten, now six months old had gotten out. Still he have words with his visiting sister who had come to do what she called, checking up on him. He let the Commander and other Ensign talk of New York, while he paid attention to the two small boys, and Tigger. He was mildly concerned about the other creatures arrival and if need be may have to go on the defensive. He turned toward Ozu Saya and nodded. "Ensign K'oshor. My pleasure," he said reaching out his quite large hand toward her.

[Chief Ozu Saya, Domen Kyo, Domen Evekh - Promenade]
Tigga, Evekh repeated after his friend, reaching out a small hand to pat the kitten's side. He'd learned early to be gentle with pets between his own family's odd pet and Auntie Judy's corgis.
Saya and Kyo approached the group finally, Kyo crouching down to gently turn Evekh to face him. The toddler tried to avoid his father's eyes, but Kyo waited patiently until Evekh finally looked at him. Are you supposed to run away from Mama and Daddy? he asked.
Evekh shook his head and pointed at the kitten in his friend's arms.
I know. It's a very cute kitten. But it's dangerous to run from Mama and Daddy, even if you see people you know. Don't do it again.
Evekh's chin dropped to his chest as he nodded contritely at the rebuke. Kyo let him go, and Evekh turned back to pet Tigger.
Sorry about that, Kyo said, standing. We're still working on him staying with us when we're out.
Hello, Judy, Ensign Quinn, and I'm afraid I don't know you, Saya said to the Klingon.
Alieth approached the children and attempted to sniff at the kitten. This was a creature she'd never smelled before.

[Cmdr. Judith Eastman(-Williams) & Michael Eastman - Promenade]"Your father and I were practically neighbors, then, setting aside the time gap," Judy observed to Quinn. The time gap, of course, stemmed from the fact that her Starfleet career had taken Judy places, and that the family home she'd raised her younger two kids in during her Earth postings was a ways beyond the Palisades. Then, she turned to Saya and Kyo. "You know, they don't stop running on you. They just get sneakier," she remarked. "This little fella's father, Lawrence, only really stopped being a handful when Michael here came about."She kept an attentive eye on the animals and kids, hoping that nothing would go wrong. Of course, if anything did, Judy could probably take care of it with a dermal regenerator and grandmotherly hugs.
