[Charlie Fox - Dining Car, Orient Express]It took Charlie a couple of moments to figure out what Left Ear was asking, but when she did, her face broke into a charmed smile. "Oh! Effennenn is the Federation News Network, where I work. We report on all the goings on here on the Frontier and transmit it all back to the Alpha Quadrant." She continued slicing up her beef, champagne momentarily forgotten with the task, and nodded along to what T'Laara was saying. She got it. "It was unfortunate. I got the information I needed in the end, and Jett helped, but it was a bit of a mess." She couldn't absolve him completely, however. Had he not interfered in the first place she never would have needed outside help, but his intentions had mostly been altruistic. And entirely too reactive. When Shavan piped up to promise never to rescue her, she grinned and rested her knife and fork on her plate to signify she was done. "Don't say that Shavan! What if I suddenly took ill and required mouth-to-mouth in order to live?" It was, of course, at that moment the waiter chose to keel over, as though her words had some strange power over the dining car. She frowned, staring with narrowed eyes at the prone body on the floor. All she could hear then was the drip-drip-drip of the thick soup as it dropped on the man's pristine white shirt. "This is the Orient Express," she began, mostly for her own comfort, "Perhaps it's part of the program?" Charlie didn't seem to buy it herself. She dabbed the corners of her mouth with her linen napkin and then rose, her natural curiosity far too piqued to remain seated. [Sir Dugris "Doug" Zaman, MBE, PhD, JD, MBA, PE, RA - Orient Express]Sir Doug stood next to Alec as the doctor worked, not having anything of his own to contribute to the news of the poisoning. It was bad, certainly since the reaction of others indicated that this wasn't a hologram that had been poisoned. The holodeck not shutting down was much closer to his fields, as problems went. "A holodeck malfunction! Of course!" he exclaimed to no one in particular. "We'll need to out what's wrong with it and how to get around it. The smart money's on a software bug, but hardware issues are possible too."He cast his eyes around for the Starfleet engineers that were sure to be present, while the furry animal on his head cast her eyes around for the most scrumptious treats. [ Shavan & T’Laara - Dining Car, Orient Express] Shavan smirked. “Well, there are always exceptions.” He looked away as the sudden chaos demanded their full attention, and the waiter still did not get up. Charlie nervously suggested that it was part of the program, to which T’Laara gave a less optimistic reply. “It is possible, but I do not believe that man is a hologram. I have seen him at the Blue Beta.” “So have I.”Someone was calling for a doctor, and Charlie got up, but Shavan had a feeling it would be too late. There was no sign of injury, which meant.. “Poison.” he said under his breath, looking at his untouched food. T’Laara raised an eyebrow. “Earth food is an acquired taste for some, but I would not go so far as to call it that.” Shavan took another long drink (if that was poisoned, he was dead anyway) and shrugged. Despite assuming the worst, he wasn’t too concerned about it. T’Laara, however, stopped eating, and focused her more sensitive hearing on the wailing from the next carriage. “It sounds like something similar has happened to someone in there.”And then it was in fact confirmed that the man had been poisoned. And was dead. T’Laara stayed in her seat, staring in silence. She had never seen someone die before. And while this was more a job for security, Shavan looked around the room, thinking. There was no sign that anyone else was in danger, or of impending violence. They were simply stuck there; a captive audience. Poison was normally a weapon of secrecy, but whoever did this wanted to put on a show. The question was, was someone trying to recreate a murder novel, or was this all a distraction? “What happened in that story?”From somewhere nearby, he heard someone say that the holodeck was malfunctioning. And he had to agree, shutting it down should be first priority regardless of the poisoner's motive. While not an engineer, he thought he knew enough to try to help. If necessary. =/\= Lt Th’zhaar to Engineering, requesting emergency shutdown of Holodeck 1. =/\= … “Computer, arch” ... When neither of these got an immediate response, Shavan stood up, only swaying a little, and approached the old man. Whether to offer him assistance, or to ask for it, he wasn’t entirely sure. “If its a software malfunction, we’ll need some way to interface with the systems. Do you have anything?” Shavan stared at the strange animal on the man's head. Tag Charlie Fox Dugris Zaman

[Chloe Hudson - Orient Express] It odd having Eliska call her ma’am, especially since they’d been have a friendly informal conversation, making plans for rec time only a few moments ago. But, there was no time to dwell on that as she followed closely behind Eliska who cleared a path to the other carriage. Kova a had beat them there and was knelling over a man who was foaming at the mouth. To make maters worse, it seemed the Holodeck program wasn’t working. “Does he...” Chloe, about to ask about his pulse, looked between Kova and the woman as she realised it might not be the best way to inform her. She changed tack and put her arm around the woman comforting her and walked her away from the body of the man, allowing Eliska and Kova to continue examining him and Chloe to ask some questions. “I know this must be quite difficult for you,” she said before turning to a waiter who was nearby, “Can I get a glass of water please? Thank you.” Chloe took an empty chair from a nearby table and sat the woman down in a corner, giving her as much space and privacy as she could at the moment. A moment later the waiter returned with a glass. “Can you walk me through what happened?” Tag: Eliska Bremmer, Charlie Fox, Kova Sh'qaleq

[Chloe Hudson - Orient Express]The presentations came to an abrupt pause as one of the waiters collapsed at their table. At the same time, Chloe thought she'd heard a scream in the distance. A few moments later, she heard the scream again and what sounded like wailing. Meanwhile, it seemed quite a few of the guests were getting to have a look at the commotion up the front. Lea, diligent as ever had gone to find a doctor which would be helpful. Chloe stood up and positioned herself between the waiter and most of the carriage in an attempt to give him a little privacy. "It's alright everyone, can you all go back to your seats? Everything is fine, there's no need to get up," he projected her voice for the whole carriage to hear. She then noticed Kova apparently stumbling towards the carriage and was slightly concerned not only about what was going on out back but that it was Kova going to check it out. "Can you make sure he gets some privacy? The man doesn't need the whole room looking over him like he's a zoo animal," Chloe asked Reddington before turning to Eliska. "I heard a scream up back. Come check it out with me?" she asked before moving at a brisk pace to the other carriage where Kova was. [ Melihn Ryah - Orient Express] Ryah heard the scream from the other car and hesitated, considering suggesting that Sven go check out that situation, but she saw Chloe say something to Eliska and turn that direction, so decided to leave them to it for the moment. Let's go see if we can help, she said, noting that the young intelligence officer had also tried to get the passengers to clear the area around the fallen waiter. Chief Melihn and Lt. Commander Aune of security, she said flatly as they approached Reddington. Please make an announcement from the stage that everyone return to their seats, or perhaps we need to end the program and clear everyone out of the holodeck.Alec gave Aryn a glance, to which she waved and replied, Go ahead. I'll stay put. Can't do anyone any good like this.Alec bent and pressed a swift kiss to Aryn's cheek and joined Sir Doug in pushing through to the fallen man just in time to hear Leanna asking for a doctor. I am, he said, raising a hand as he was still behind a couple of people. He finally got through and took in the scene. Dropping to one knee, Alec wiped a bit of stew away from the waiter's throat and pressed two fingers to where his pulse should have been. He watched the still chest, then leaned right over, fingers carefully bracing himself, and put his ear near the man's mouth, where a bit of white foam had bubbled around his lips. Alec was careful not to touch it. I don't know who's in charge here, but we need to shut everything down and keep everyone in place, Alec said quietly, not wanting to cause panic. Without a medkit, I can't say with certainty, but through experience, I can tell you that this man was likely poisoned. [Benjamin J. "Redd" Reddington - Orient Express]Reddington, who had been silenced with shock as he stared down at the waiter, found himself nodding in response to Chloe Hudson's orders. "Yes, yes, everyone please, give the young man some air. No use worrying over some spilled soup!" He didn't know where that came from; but he forced a jovial chuckle. At least, that was the sound he'd intended, in reality it came out as a bit unbalanced. He ushered away a too-curious Peggy Lynch. "Now, now, Margaret, unless you've got first responder training you'll be more use setting an example for the others and taking your seat. See? Here, now, there is a doctor in the house." While Alec bent to examine the poor, prone server, Reddington was intercepted by two security personnel, one of whom he'd met upon arrival, the other, much, much smaller and attractive one he'd yet to meet. Alas, now was not the time for such pleasant distractions. "Jolly good," he agreed readily, noting that these were possibly two of the highest ranking officers in the holodeck, and feeling some relief at that thought. How ironic he'd be pleased to see the law! =/\= "Computer, pause program." =/\= Reddington waited for the train to stall, for the holographic performers and the extra wait staff to still. Nothing happened. With a frown, while a cold sweat began to break out on his brow, he tried again. =/\= "Computer. End program immediately!" =/\= The only answer to his order came in the form of the great train's horn. The Master of Ceremonies swallowed the sudden excess of saliva in his mouth and glanced at the security team with some anxiety in his expression. Without saying anything further to them, he reached back down to the table and plucked his microphone device from it. "Please, ladies and gentlemen! This is all under control, please be seated. We have a doctor here, there's no need to panic, he is...""Without a medkit, I can't say with certainty, but through experience, I can tell you that this man was likely poisoned.""Poisoned!" He gasped into the microphone for all to hear.

So much for keeping things calm and quiet. His brow knit with concern that the program wouldn't end. That meant there was no real chance of getting his hands on a medical scanner. He'd have to rely on really old-school skills. It had been awhile. Excuse me, can I help? Left Ear approached the doctor. I'm a healer among my people, and I know human medicine a little now.Alec looked up and nodded gratefully. He wasn't familiar with the felinoid's species, but her willingness to help was a boon. The foam at the mouth indicates poison. There are a couple of possibilities, but without equipment I can't tell for sure. The Sivaoan crouched beside Alec and sniffed above Reni's body, jerking back with her nose wrinkled and mouth slightly open. That definitely smells wrong. I can try to describe it for you.

And judging by the reactions of others, he appeared to have some emotional attachments to one guest in particular. Dinner forgotten, Charlie moved closer to the small gathered crowd, not wishing to cause any further trouble, but to satisfy her own morbid curiosity. She clenched her jaw in response when Reddington divulged to everyone present that the man had been poisoned, and automatically found herself scanning the diners to ensure nobody lost their senses completely. "There was a fatal stabbing and Poirot, world-famous detective, rushed to solve it. The train gets waylaid by an avalanche, and everyone is stuck with a killer in their midst." Her eyes flickered toward the train compartment's windows, which was showing very little by way of flashing scenery as they sped through the darkened countryside. When Shavan's communications with Engineering and his program commands went unanswered, Charlie let out a string of muttered curses. She didn't know much about programming, beyond what she'd learned to do with Olsen. She didn't want to sit down like a good little civvie and drink, well, she wanted to drink of course, let's not be too hasty, but she did feel the need to do something else. While Shavan spoke to the man with the cat-parrot on his shoulder, Charlie raised her hand and approached the woman who had put herself in charge. "It might be prudent to stop the train."

[ Kova Sh'qaleq - Orient Express] As the Andorian entered the car, the first sign she saw was the woman on her knees, distraught at the sight of the downed man. Kova already had her suspicions that he was dead, but given the woman's state, mentioning aloud would only exacerbate her current demeanor. "Excuse me," Kova said as she did her best to kneel. It simply wasn't easy to do in this dress. With some effort, she managed to lower herself to the floor. "I'm here to help." Kova didn't give the woman an opportunity to protest or otherwise question her. Her hands sought to take the man's pulse. After feeling around, she briefly found the location of the man's artery, and where his pulse should have been. Her eyes noticed the foam around his mouth, and immediately deduced it was likely some sort of poison. Her eyes turned towards the woman, wondering if she would be the next to drop like a fly. "What did he have before he collapsed?" she asked. She still wasn't going to be the one to break the news to this woman. Still, she could do with a bit of help. "Computer, arch." Yet, when the break in the holographic simulation didn't appear, the Andorian's began to grow annoyed. "Computer, freeze program!" Still nothing. Rolling her eyes, Kova let out an annoyed sigh. "Again?! Seriously?!" How was it possible that the holodeck kept malfunctioning? This was clearly the fault of that Vulcan half-breed. She obviously knew that she wasn't Chief O'Brien. Perhaps it was time that she told everyone else. And on the off-chance that it wasn't her fault, who in the hell wrote such a crappy program, that it wouldn't interface fully with the station's holographic matrix. They clearly got what they paid for. Pinch your pennies, and you get shoddy work like this. But no one ever asks a true professional like hers truly. Kova's heard turned to look behind her, noticing what appeared to be Bremmer approaching the car's door, along with someone else. Just as good. Perhaps they could be the one to tell the girl that her date had just bit it. Better from a Fleeter's mouth than her own. [Chloe Hudson - Orient Express] It odd having Eliska call her ma’am, especially since they’d been have a friendly informal conversation, making plans for rec time only a few moments ago. Thank you.” Chloe took an empty chair from a nearby table and sat the woman down in a corner, giving her as much space and privacy as she could at the moment. A moment later the waiter returned with a glass. “Can you walk me through what happened?” [Callista Maybourne, aka The Mourning Banshee - Lounge Car, Orient Express]"Noooo, noooo, don't do that! Don't you go looking for his pulse like he's... like he... doesn't have one!" The sobs started; great big gasps for breath, pulled in too quickly and sounding a lot like the bark of a seal. She reached out to grab a hold of Kova, mindless of the restrictions of her own dress, and began to beg. "Do something, damn you! Please!" Then she turned to look at her lover and flung herself upon his body. "How could this be, Phoenix! You said we were meant to be, that it was destiny!"At the touch of the stranger Callista started, and then rushed to fix herself as she rose to her feet, belatedly realising she'd had a little wardrobe malfunction and in her distress, had almost undressed. With a long sniffle she looked longingly at the man on the floor of the train and allowed herself to be taken away. Her face a mess of running mascara and blotchy, red cheeks, she eventually looked at Chloe when a glass of water was pressed into her hands. "We were just sitting there, talking about having a dance. We'd just ordered another bottle of the Bolly, when, when..." She took a cautious sip of her water, and then suddenly she gasped and reached out again, this time with a tightened grip. "Oh my goodness, his wife! Someone will have to tell her!"She put the glass down on a nearby table. "Not it."

[ Ozu Saya] Saya had remained in her seat even as Kova left, not wanting to contribute to the chaos. But when Reddington inadvertently announced to the entire car that the fallen man had been poisoned, she looked around and realized that she was the ranking Starfleet officer in the simulation. She pressed Kyo's hand and rose, murmuring, I'm going to have to take command. Judy and Dr. Baker are both away on the Mac and I don't believe the commodore is present. He nodded and squeezed Saya's hand as she moved toward the stage. She caught some of the words of both Shavan and Sir Doug as they attempted to shut down the program, but she made her way to the stage and stepped up to address the crowd. Starfleet officers, you are hereby to consider yourselves on-duty. Please assemble yourselves as you can by department and have your highest ranking member report to me. Civilians, I understand these are difficult circumstances, but please remain calm and seated and allow us to do our jobs. If you believe you can render assistance, get my attention and I will come to you. At least that way, there would be fewer people moving around. Saya stepped back off of the platform. Sir Doug, Mr. Th'zhaar, correct? You were saying that the program will not shut down? Do the two of you have the necessary skills to access the holodeck controls manually? I don't believe there are any other engineers here and I will need to remain in command of the Starfleet personnel. I will assist if needed, however.[Charlie Fox - Dining Car, Orient Express]"You're right," she breathed when both Shavan and T'Laara claimed to recognise the fallen man. "It might be prudent to stop the train." [Sir Dugris "Doug" Zaman, MBE, PhD, JD, MBA, PE, RA - Orient Express]Sir Doug looked at the Andorian? who spoke to him with a very peculiar seriousness for a man with a furry animal on his head. "I've fallen a little behind on Holodeck technology in recent years, but I think I can help, and I have a little PADD in my bag," he offered helpfully. PooDoo leaped onto the ground to inspect the spilled stew, and Sir Doug swiftly picked her up to keep her from eating a possibly poisoned dish. She screamed at him, upset, until he reached into his pocket for a little muffin to offer her. "I'd think twice about stopping the train. If there's one thing I learned from my visit to Sarajevo in the summer of 1914, it's that detours in this part of the space-time continuum can be perilous," he interjected, to the young woman who'd suggested stopping the train.

[ Leanna - Orient Express] Lea had never been so happy to have a Doctor nearby as one answered her and she realised that it was one of the newer business owners, who she hadn't spoken to yet. Although now wasn't the time for proper introductions or engaging in conversation, so she thanked him instead. " Thank you" she replied as Alec went over to check on the still form of Rani. Of course she clung on to the hope that he could be helped and for a moment just stood watching, until she became aware of others approaching, picking out those familiar to her including Chloe, then Ryah and Sven. The Betazoid was aware of the conversation and suggestions being made, but that seemed insignificant as Rani was taken from them, his death and the life leaving him, became almost like a whisper but something acutely felt by his Boss. His wasn't the first that she had been attuned to nor would it be the last. Yet it was so cruel and painful, her mind just zoning out for a moment as she looked at him. When Alec then spoke about how Rani had been poisoned and gave a recommendation for what they should do, Lea felt numb, before Redd acknowledged everyone who had spoken. Only coming back to reality when it became apparent that the programme wouldn't end and their host had accidentally announced the cause of death. " Jack gather the others, you know the drill" she finally managed to say, her team trained for emergencies even it meant keeping everyone distracted with alcohol and food. Jack quickly acknowledged his Boss, before Lea looked towards Jeffy who was still in denial ... that was until it began to sink in and he sunk to the ground, leaving Lea to rush to his side. ************************** [ Jem Sparkles - Orient Express] Jeffy was only vaguely aware of Leanna's presence, as the realisation of what had happened to Rani finally sunk in and he naturally collapsed with an immeasurable sense of grief. He may not of known Rani for long and he didn't know if it would be a temporary thing or more but at his age, it was more to do with companionship unlike some Queens. No it hadn't been his paramour's time and now everything had been snatched away from both of them. Jeffy ... listen to me, we need to sit you down and let Starfleet do their job What? ... no leave me little one, I can't do this It soon became obvious to the younger Mazal that she was going to need help in moving her Uncle as he wasn't going to make it easy. She had never seen him like this before, so vulnerable and Rani would be mourned by all of them. With it looking like Eliska was helping Chloe, Lea enlisted Jack's help to get Jeffy to her table, not wanting to leave him on his own right now.
soft tags all [Benjamin J. "Redd" Reddington - Orient Express]Many Reddingtons had passed before their time, and under unusual circumstances. One of his great uncles had been eaten by an alien beast, totally devoured at the age of forty, his grandmother swore that her second cousin was killed by the ghost of the maid she herself had pushed down the stairs for trying to seduce her husband, and one of their long, long ago ancestors was said to have died from eating too many lampreys. That last one might have been a type of poison, but it certainly hadn't been anything like this. Reddington was far too young to die. He wasn't ready; though dying on a holographic Orient Express would probably make the Top 10 Strangest Reddington Family Expirations. He decided he didn't need to hear what the doctor and the large kitty-cat were saying, and instead moved toward Jem Sparkles and her charming niece. He offered the support of his arm while another waiter assisted the shocked Sparkles to a seat. "I believe a whiskey might be warranted for our esteemed award-winner here," he said to Jack and Leanna, his voice kind. Then he reached out to take Jem's cold hand in his warm one. "Now, Miss Sparkles. As inconceivable as it feels right now, you must stay present. Not just for us, or for your fans, but for your niece here. There's no time yet to mourn, my dear. Your fans need you, we need you, and your niece will appreciate your strength."*** [Brack - Orient Express]"Poison!" He hissed, then grabbed a fistful of his assistant's shirt and with a tug, pulled him down to his level. "Find us a way out of here, now, or you'll be on the first transport back to that socialist rock I found you on."He released and then approached the female who seemed to think she was the boss of everyone. "What is the meaning of this?" Brack the Legendary asked of her and those she was speaking with. "I demand to know what is happening here. If this is some hyoo-mon idea of entertainment you can count APISS out!"

But he was already in the right place to comply, as the chief engineer approached him and the man she called Sir Doug. “That’s right. I think I can manage it.” He knew his way around the computer system, and while he didn’t have a lot of experience with programming the holodeck specifically, Shavan could at least gain access to the controls before deferring to the chief. He glanced at the old man. Shavan didn’t know what to make of the last bit of what he said, but a PADD could be helpful. “That could work. Thank you.” he answered flatly, still watching the furry animal. All that remained was to start. He didn't know anything about this point in the space-time continuum, so best leave the question of stopping the train, and dealing with the Ferengi diplomatically, to the chief. ________ T’Laara stayed in her seat, as civilians were told to. She listened to what was going on, but didn't know what help to offer that Starfleet didn't already have covered. "Perhaps an unconventional problem requires an unconventional solution. “Can you walk me through what happened?” Tag: Eliska Bremmer , Charlie Fox , Kova Sh'qaleq [Callista Maybourne, aka The Mourning Banshee - Lounge Car, Orient Express]"Noooo, noooo, don't do that! "Not it." [ Kova Sh'qaleq - Lounge Car, Orient Express] It seemed the banshee's hysteira knew no limits. Kova looked upon the woman with a mixture of annoyance and sympathy. How was she supposed to check for a pulse on a human? She supposed she could have just slapped him to see if he'd react, but somehow felt that may have been even more insensitive. Seeing Bremmer and Harmon's girl, Friday Chloe arrive was certainly a relief. At least it suggested that they'd be able to take point and deal with this woman and her distraught state. Hearing Chloe's subtle question about the state of the girl, Kova gave a quick shake of the head stating that she hadn't been able to find a pulse. If he was poisoned, it was unlikely either of them could have done anything, especially being trapped in the Holodeck. Kova started to stand, still battling with the restrictive fabric. She listened as the woman recounted her time with the deceased male. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary: drinking... dancing. It was primarily what everyone else was doing. Kova continued to watch the woman, waiting for signs of the poison to possibly kick in. Though, naturally, she would reveal herself to be what some would refer to as a 'side piece.' Though, Kova could applaud her prompt exclusion from telling the man's wife. Surely, that fell under Starfleet's purview. "You both had the... Bolly ?" she asked. "Only the two of you? Hopefully, Callista's reply would either supply them with a count of potential suspects... or more potential victims.

[Benjamin J. "Redd" Reddington - Dining Car, Orient Express]Reddington nodded with understanding when Leanna explained that the dead young man had meant a lot to her uncle. "Oh, my dear, this has gone to hell in so many handbaskets. We must try and keep everyone calm until we can find a way out." He leaned in a little closer to Jem then, happy to see the whiskey had arrived. "It must feel like the world is ending," he agreed, "But I assure you, it is not. Not yet, not if we can help it!"With a fire lit beneath him, Benjamin J. Reddington, noted economist and ex-convict, decided there was nothing for it other than to try and help save the day. "Ms. Mazal, I'm going to go and have a word with the band, see if they can't play something soft, soothing. Perhaps you and your ready friend here - Jack, was it? Perhaps you could see to a refreshment or two for the more ashen amongst us." Peggy Lynch, in particular, was sporting her usual pinched, displeased face, though it had paled considerably. Reddington walked off, keen to be moving and to put some distance between himself and Rani. Frightful business, really. "My apologies, won't you excuse me, do excuse me." He moved through some of the crowd, getting jostled and bumped occasionally. He had just about reached the elevated music platform when suddenly something came upon him. He slowed, his right hand reaching out to grab onto anything he could use to steady himself. He began to cough, and then the short fit was followed by an audible groan as he crumpled to the ground. "P- P-!" Silence.

Poison was normally a weapon of secrecy, but whoever did this wanted to put on a show. The question was, was someone trying to recreate a murder novel, or was this all a distraction? “What happened in that story?”From somewhere nearby, he heard someone say that the holodeck was malfunctioning. Do you have anything?” Shavan stared at the strange animal on the man's head. [ Ozu Saya] Saya had remained in her seat even as Kova left, not wanting to contribute to the chaos. Sir Doug, Mr. Th'zhaar, correct? You were saying that the program will not shut down? Do the two of you have the necessary skills to access the holodeck controls manually?
Tags: Shavan Th'zhaar , Ozu Saya [ Shavan & T’Laara - Dining Car, Orient Express] Shavan smirked. Tag Shavan Th'zhaar , Ozu Saya , and Charlie Fox [ Leanna - Orient Express] Lea had never been so happy to have a Doctor nearby as one answered her and she realised that it was one of the newer business owners, who she hadn't spoken to yet.

How would detective Poirot catch the poisoner?" she mused aloud. Tag Ozu Saya Dugris Zaman Charlie Fox [ Leanna & Jack - Orient Express] Whilst Leanna was aware of Saya taking charge of the situation when she addressed everyone and the problems they were currently facing with the programme on top of Rani being poisoned. The Betazoid had no intention of getting in Starfleet's way as Jeffy was her main priority at the moment, especially after he had become wrought with emotion and grief. She had only ever seen him this way once before and yes he had overcome that but at the same time, Lea knew just how much this thing with Rani wasn't a casual thing like normal. She also wanted to make sure that he was okay, before she offered her help with trying to resolve the predicament they now found themselves in. However she had faith that they would get out of it and if she was being honest, things like this weren't something she feared anymore as she had been through a lot worse. Having a positive outlook was definitely a good thing as they were helped by Redd and Lea was grateful for his assistance. Once they had gotten Jeffy seated and Redd suggested that a whiskey might be warranted for Jem, Lea agreed with him as Jack then acknowledged their Host. " I'll make it a double" he replied then left them to fetch said drink. " Thank you for your help Redd, as you can probably tell, Rani meant a lot to my Uncle" she said softly, before he reached out and took hold of Jem's hand and spoke to her. ********************* [ Jem Sparkles - Orient Express] At moment's like this, Jem tended to shut off as her brain attempted to process what had happened, even if she would of liked nothing better than to just sit and not move. However when Lea and the others had escorted her to a table, she had simply let them, rather than be stubborn about it, especially when Rani had been lost to her. Of course she had sensed the end and trying to convince herself otherwise wasn't conducive to how she felt right now and how numb she had become. In fact it was if she was staring into nothingness as the others spoke about Whiskey, until Reddington took hold of her hand and she experienced his kindness and warmth. Looking at him directly as he spoke about how she needed to be present, how this wasn't the time to mourn yet and how she was needed by her fans and Lea. That seemed to stir something inside of her, especially Leanna and yet had to fight through the numbness to do so. " Yes my fans and Leanna ... but I don't know if I can, Reddington .. the loss feels so raw right now" she admitted as Jack returned with a glass of whiskey and set it down in front of her.

[ Melihn Ryah] Ryah noted the Ferengi talking to Saya and took a few steps closer, knowing that neither she nor the chief engineer were intimidating enough to make him back down, but Sven at her back might make Brack think twice before causing any problems.

Tags: Leanna Mazal and soft to all in the dining car. [ Leanna, Jem Sparkles & Jack - Orient Express] Leanna had to agree with Redd's statement about how this had turned to hell so quickly, before their host turned his attention back to Jeffy as the whiskey appeared and Jeffy admitteed how raw he felt right now. The Betazoid was glad to have Redd's support and if anyone had a chance of getting through to her Uncle then it would be him. In fact as he spoke to Jeffy and assured him that the world wasn't ending, especially if they could help it. His words seemed to connect with the Drag superstar as Jeffy looked at him. " You're right my dear Reddington & exactly we won't"Jem replied, regaining some of her strength as she reached for the whiskey glass and took hold of it. When Redd then told Lea that he would go and see the band about playing something, Lea thought it was good idea, as he then suggested that her and Jack provide refreshment for those who may need it. " That's a good idea & certainly I'll get Jack and the others to do that" she said noticing that Jeffy was halfway through the whiskey as Redd left them. Although for a moment, everything that had been discussed was forgotten, when she realised that Redd had collapsed. No this wasn't right, first Rani, then someone else in the other car and now Redd, she didn't if she could cope if something happened to their host. However she was quick to realise that they didn't need her to rush up and get in the way, despite a need to check on the very charismatic and charming man. For now she stayed seated, distracting Jeffy with another drink as Jack and the others began to deliver drinks to those who could do with something stronger, whilst hoping that Redd would be okay.

[Charlie Fox - Dining Car, Orient Express]When the older man with the cat-parrot on his shoulder, who apparently enjoyed a muffin or two, began to speak about the space-time continuum and 1914 and Sarajevo, she looked at him blankly. Her eyes flickered from the Chief and back to him, wondering if this situation was being taken as seriously as was required. Stuck in a holodeck with a malfunctioning program, people getting murdered, unable to leave and no safety protocols - stopping the hurtling, steam-powered death box they were all riding in seemed like the very least they should be doing. Thankfully, Ozu seemed to have caught on to the danger. She nodded. "Yes, I can do that." She turned toward T'Laara, who had remained seated and was wondering aloud as to what the great detective's first move might be. Charlie had to admit, she was rather taken not just with the Vulcan's poise, but with what seemed like curiosity in the face of the potential mystery. "I think he might start with trying to find out what the connection between the victims could be, if any. First though, I'm going to see if we can find someone in charge, maybe see if I can get my hands on a manifest. Care to join?"

Brack the Legendary, owner of The Twilight Hotel & Casino, only business that kept this boat afloat, being threatened with security? Didn't they know who he was? He opened his mouth to continue his tirade, when his beady gaze caught on the gigantic Aune and the Chief of Security, both of whom he saw quite frequently due to the nature of his business. His jaw snapped shut and he took an unconscious step backward. However, when he caught sight of Reddington unsteady on his feet, he began to laugh, loudly. "Looks like Redd can't handle his gins!" He pointed out with some glee.

[ Shavan & T'Laara - Dining Car, Orient Express] Shavan listened to Chief Ozu’s announcement and sighed. So much for a fun night off duty. [ Ozu Saya, Left Ear to-Ennien - Orient Express] Charlie Fox's recommendation to stop the train and Sir Doug's counter came in rapid succession. Needing to make a quick decision as she saw the Ferengi who'd addressed the crowd earlier bearing down on her, Saya said quickly, Ms. Fox, would you attempt to speak to one of the train attendants about stopping the train? If nothing else, we should determine how much control we have inside the simulation as we don't appear to have the ability to leave. Then she faced the wrath of the Ferengi. Sir, there has been a death, as you surely heard. We are doing everything we can, but unless you can contribute in a helpful manner, I must request that you take your seat. If you interfere in our investigations, I can have security take you into custody.Turning finally to Doug and Shavan, the chief said, Do what you can, please. Perhaps see if you can get any sort of connection to the station's computer with the PADD. I will join you... Saya trailed off as she noted the MC for the evening crumple by the stage. Oh, she said quietly. Left Ear also noticed Reddington begin to collapse from where she was crouched beside Remi's body. She made an impressive leap, her very long tail streaming behind her, but didn't quite reach the man before he hit the floor. Her tail whipped to try to cushion head to prevent it, at least, from damage. [Sir Dugris "Doug" Zaman, MBE, PhD, JD, MBA, PE, RA - Orient Express]It seemed Sir Doug's suggestion about the train had not been well received - which was a shame, but understandable - but the need to get on working was clear. "Come with me," he told the Andorian, as he himself began to walk towards where he'd been sitting. "I left my bag, so we can see what's in it real quick in addition to a PADD."After reaching the spot where they'd left Aryn behind, Sir Doug opened his briefcase and began looking through it. As usual, he had a large supply of peculiar trinkets, like flags, paperwork, a little Kahless statuette, a bag of cough drops, as well as a PADD, a tricorder, and a very old pager from pre-warp Vulcan. "What's your name, sir?" he asked the Andorian now.
