[Charlie Fox - Dining Car, Orient Express]"You're right," she breathed when both Shavan and T'Laara claimed to recognise the fallen man. And judging by the reactions of others, he appeared to have some emotional attachments to one guest in particular. Dinner forgotten, Charlie moved closer to the small gathered crowd, not wishing to cause any further trouble, but to satisfy her own morbid curiosity. She clenched her jaw in response when Reddington divulged to everyone present that the man had been poisoned, and automatically found herself scanning the diners to ensure nobody lost their senses completely. "There was a fatal stabbing and Poirot, world-famous detective, rushed to solve it. The train gets waylaid by an avalanche, and everyone is stuck with a killer in their midst." Her eyes flickered toward the train compartment's windows, which was showing very little by way of flashing scenery as they sped through the darkened countryside. When Shavan's communications with Engineering and his program commands went unanswered, Charlie let out a string of muttered curses. She didn't know much about programming, beyond what she'd learned to do with Olsen. She didn't want to sit down like a good little civvie and drink, well, she wanted to drink of course, let's not be too hasty, but she did feel the need to do something else. While Shavan spoke to the man with the cat-parrot on his shoulder, Charlie raised her hand and approached the woman who had put herself in charge. "It might be prudent to stop the train."
Tags: Shavan Th'zhaar , Ozu Saya [Sir Dugris "Doug" Zaman, MBE, PhD, JD, MBA, PE, RA - Orient Express]Sir Doug looked at the Andorian? who spoke to him with a very peculiar seriousness for a man with a furry animal on his head. "I've fallen a little behind on Holodeck technology in recent years, but I think I can help, and I have a little PADD in my bag," he offered helpfully. PooDoo leaped onto the ground to inspect the spilled stew, and Sir Doug swiftly picked her up to keep her from eating a possibly poisoned dish. She screamed at him, upset, until he reached into his pocket for a little muffin to offer her. "I'd think twice about stopping the train. If there's one thing I learned from my visit to Sarajevo in the summer of 1914, it's that detours in this part of the space-time continuum can be perilous," he interjected, to the young woman who'd suggested stopping the train.
Tag Shavan Th'zhaar , Ozu Saya , and Charlie Fox [Benjamin J. "Redd" Reddington - Orient Express]Many Reddingtons had passed before their time, and under unusual circumstances. One of his great uncles had been eaten by an alien beast, totally devoured at the age of forty, his grandmother swore that her second cousin was killed by the ghost of the maid she herself had pushed down the stairs for trying to seduce her husband, and one of their long, long ago ancestors was said to have died from eating too many lampreys. That last one might have been a type of poison, but it certainly hadn't been anything like this. Reddington was far too young to die. He wasn't ready; though dying on a holographic Orient Express would probably make the Top 10 Strangest Reddington Family Expirations. He decided he didn't need to hear what the doctor and the large kitty-cat were saying, and instead moved toward Jem Sparkles and her charming niece. He offered the support of his arm while another waiter assisted the shocked Sparkles to a seat. "I believe a whiskey might be warranted for our esteemed award-winner here," he said to Jack and Leanna, his voice kind. Then he reached out to take Jem's cold hand in his warm one. "Now, Miss Sparkles. As inconceivable as it feels right now, you must stay present. Not just for us, or for your fans, but for your niece here. There's no time yet to mourn, my dear. Your fans need you, we need you, and your niece will appreciate your strength."*** [Brack - Orient Express]"Poison!" He hissed, then grabbed a fistful of his assistant's shirt and with a tug, pulled him down to his level. "Find us a way out of here, now, or you'll be on the first transport back to that socialist rock I found you on."He released and then approached the female who seemed to think she was the boss of everyone. "What is the meaning of this?" Brack the Legendary asked of her and those she was speaking with. "I demand to know what is happening here. If this is some hyoo-mon idea of entertainment you can count APISS out!"

So much for a fun night off duty. But he was already in the right place to comply, as the chief engineer approached him and the man she called Sir Doug. “That’s right. I think I can manage it.” He knew his way around the computer system, and while he didn’t have a lot of experience with programming the holodeck specifically, Shavan could at least gain access to the controls before deferring to the chief. He glanced at the old man. Shavan didn’t know what to make of the last bit of what he said, but a PADD could be helpful. “That could work. Thank you.” he answered flatly, still watching the furry animal. All that remained was to start. He didn't know anything about this point in the space-time continuum, so best leave the question of stopping the train, and dealing with the Ferengi diplomatically, to the chief. ________ T’Laara stayed in her seat, as civilians were told to. She listened to what was going on, but didn't know what help to offer that Starfleet didn't already have covered. "Perhaps an unconventional problem requires an unconventional solution. How would detective Poirot catch the poisoner?" she mused aloud. Tag Ozu Saya Dugris Zaman Charlie Fox [Benjamin J. "Redd" Reddington - Dining Car, Orient Express]Reddington nodded with understanding when Leanna explained that the dead young man had meant a lot to her uncle. "Oh, my dear, this has gone to hell in so many handbaskets. We must try and keep everyone calm until we can find a way out." He leaned in a little closer to Jem then, happy to see the whiskey had arrived. "It must feel like the world is ending," he agreed, "But I assure you, it is not. Not yet, not if we can help it!"With a fire lit beneath him, Benjamin J. Reddington, noted economist and ex-convict, decided there was nothing for it other than to try and help save the day. "Ms. Mazal, I'm going to go and have a word with the band, see if they can't play something soft, soothing. Perhaps you and your ready friend here - Jack, was it? Perhaps you could see to a refreshment or two for the more ashen amongst us." Peggy Lynch, in particular, was sporting her usual pinched, displeased face, though it had paled considerably. Reddington walked off, keen to be moving and to put some distance between himself and Rani. Frightful business, really. "My apologies, won't you excuse me, do excuse me." He moved through some of the crowd, getting jostled and bumped occasionally. He had just about reached the elevated music platform when suddenly something came upon him. He slowed, his right hand reaching out to grab onto anything he could use to steady himself. He began to cough, and then the short fit was followed by an audible groan as he crumpled to the ground. "P- P-!" Silence.

"I think he might start with trying to find out what the connection between the victims could be, if any. Since it didn't seem possible he could have gotten it any other way than ingestion, the Sivaoan did the most logical thing she could think of and turned the man on his side, using her tail to hold him in place, and shoved a furred finger towards the back of his throat to try to trigger a gag reflex. If she could get him to vomit up whatever he'd taken in, he might not get a lethal dose. The Sivaoan healer looked around for someone familiar and saw the woman who owned one of the eating establishments her fellow Sivaoans had introduced her to. Left Ear called, Leanna? As the Andorian entered the car, the first sign she saw was the woman on her knees, distraught at the sight of the downed man. Kova already had her suspicions that he was dead, but given the woman's state, mentioning aloud would only exacerbate her current demeanor. "Excuse me," Kova said as she did her best to kneel. It simply wasn't easy to do in this dress. With some effort, she managed to lower herself to the floor. "I'm here to help." Kova didn't give the woman an opportunity to protest or otherwise question her. Her hands sought to take the man's pulse. After feeling around, she briefly found the location of the man's artery, and where his pulse should have been. Her eyes noticed the foam around his mouth, and immediately deduced it was likely some sort of poison. Her eyes turned towards the woman, wondering if she would be the next to drop like a fly. "What did he have before he collapsed?" she asked. She still wasn't going to be the one to break the news to this woman. Still, she could do with a bit of help. "Computer, arch." Yet, when the break in the holographic simulation didn't appear, the Andorian's began to grow annoyed. "Computer, freeze program!" Still nothing. Rolling her eyes, Kova let out an annoyed sigh. "Again?! Seriously?!" How was it possible that the holodeck kept malfunctioning? This was clearly the fault of that Vulcan half-breed. She obviously knew that she wasn't Chief O'Brien. Perhaps it was time that she told everyone else. And on the off-chance that it wasn't her fault, who in the hell wrote such a crappy program, that it wouldn't interface fully with the station's holographic matrix. They clearly got what they paid for. Pinch your pennies, and you get shoddy work like this. But no one ever asks a true professional like hers truly. Kova's heard turned to look behind her, noticing what appeared to be Bremmer approaching the car's door, along with someone else. Just as good. Perhaps they could be the one to tell the girl that her date had just bit it. Better from a Fleeter's mouth than her own. [Chloe Hudson - Orient Express] It odd having Eliska call her ma’am, especially since they’d been have a friendly informal conversation, making plans for rec time only a few moments ago. But, there was no time to dwell on that as she followed closely behind Eliska who cleared a path to the other carriage. Kova a had beat them there and was knelling over a man who was foaming at the mouth. To make maters worse, it seemed the Holodeck program wasn’t working. “Does he...” Chloe, about to ask about his pulse, looked between Kova and the woman as she realised it might not be the best way to inform her. She changed tack and put her arm around the woman comforting her and walked her away from the body of the man, allowing Eliska and Kova to continue examining him and Chloe to ask some questions. “I know this must be quite difficult for you,” she said before turning to a waiter who was nearby, “Can I get a glass of water please? Thank you.” Chloe took an empty chair from a nearby table and sat the woman down in a corner, giving her as much space and privacy as she could at the moment. A moment later the waiter returned with a glass. “Can you walk me through what happened?” [ Ozu Saya] Saya had remained in her seat even as Kova left, not wanting to contribute to the chaos. But when Reddington inadvertently announced to the entire car that the fallen man had been poisoned, she looked around and realized that she was the ranking Starfleet officer in the simulation. She pressed Kyo's hand and rose, murmuring, I'm going to have to take command. Judy and Dr. Baker are both away on the Mac and I don't believe the commodore is present. He nodded and squeezed Saya's hand as she moved toward the stage. She caught some of the words of both Shavan and Sir Doug as they attempted to shut down the program, but she made her way to the stage and stepped up to address the crowd. Starfleet officers, you are hereby to consider yourselves on-duty. Please assemble yourselves as you can by department and have your highest ranking member report to me. Civilians, I understand these are difficult circumstances, but please remain calm and seated and allow us to do our jobs. If you believe you can render assistance, get my attention and I will come to you. At least that way, there would be fewer people moving around. Saya stepped back off of the platform. Sir Doug, Mr. Th'zhaar, correct? You were saying that the program will not shut down? Do the two of you have the necessary skills to access the holodeck controls manually? I don't believe there are any other engineers here and I will need to remain in command of the Starfleet personnel. I will assist if needed, however. [Callista Maybourne, aka The Mourning Banshee - Lounge Car, Orient Express]"Noooo, noooo, don't do that! Don't you go looking for his pulse like he's... like he... doesn't have one!" The sobs started; great big gasps for breath, pulled in too quickly and sounding a lot like the bark of a seal. She reached out to grab a hold of Kova, mindless of the restrictions of her own dress, and began to beg. "Do something, damn you! Please!" Then she turned to look at her lover and flung herself upon his body. "How could this be, Phoenix! You said we were meant to be, that it was destiny!"At the touch of the stranger Callista started, and then rushed to fix herself as she rose to her feet, belatedly realising she'd had a little wardrobe malfunction and in her distress, had almost undressed. With a long sniffle she looked longingly at the man on the floor of the train and allowed herself to be taken away. Her face a mess of running mascara and blotchy, red cheeks, she eventually looked at Chloe when a glass of water was pressed into her hands. "We were just sitting there, talking about having a dance. We'd just ordered another bottle of the Bolly, when, when..." She took a cautious sip of her water, and then suddenly she gasped and reached out again, this time with a tightened grip. "Oh my goodness, his wife! Someone will have to tell her!"She put the glass down on a nearby table. "Not it."[Benjamin J. If this is some hyoo-mon idea of entertainment you can count APISS out!" [ Kova Sh'qaleq - Lounge Car, Orient Express] It seemed the banshee's hysteira knew no limits. Kova looked upon the woman with a mixture of annoyance and sympathy. How was she supposed to check for a pulse on a human? She supposed she could have just slapped him to see if he'd react, but somehow felt that may have been even more insensitive. Seeing Bremmer and Harmon's girl, Friday Chloe arrive was certainly a relief. At least it suggested that they'd be able to take point and deal with this woman and her distraught state. Hearing Chloe's subtle question about the state of the girl, Kova gave a quick shake of the head stating that she hadn't been able to find a pulse. If he was poisoned, it was unlikely either of them could have done anything, especially being trapped in the Holodeck. Kova started to stand, still battling with the restrictive fabric. She listened as the woman recounted her time with the deceased male. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary: drinking... dancing. It was primarily what everyone else was doing. Kova continued to watch the woman, waiting for signs of the poison to possibly kick in. Though, naturally, she would reveal herself to be what some would refer to as a 'side piece.' Though, Kova could applaud her prompt exclusion from telling the man's wife. Surely, that fell under Starfleet's purview. "You both had the... Bolly ?" she asked. "Only the two of you? Hopefully, Callista's reply would either supply them with a count of potential suspects... or more potential victims. [Benjamin J. [ Ozu Saya, Left Ear to-Ennien - Orient Express] Charlie Fox's recommendation to stop the train and Sir Doug's counter came in rapid succession. Needing to make a quick decision as she saw the Ferengi who'd addressed the crowd earlier bearing down on her, Saya said quickly, Ms. Fox, would you attempt to speak to one of the train attendants about stopping the train? If nothing else, we should determine how much control we have inside the simulation as we don't appear to have the ability to leave. Then she faced the wrath of the Ferengi. Sir, there has been a death, as you surely heard. We are doing everything we can, but unless you can contribute in a helpful manner, I must request that you take your seat. If you interfere in our investigations, I can have security take you into custody.Turning finally to Doug and Shavan, the chief said, Do what you can, please. Perhaps see if you can get any sort of connection to the station's computer with the PADD. I will join you... Saya trailed off as she noted the MC for the evening crumple by the stage. Oh, she said quietly. Left Ear also noticed Reddington begin to collapse from where she was crouched beside Remi's body. She made an impressive leap, her very long tail streaming behind her, but didn't quite reach the man before he hit the floor. Her tail whipped to try to cushion head to prevent it, at least, from damage. [ Alec Trenzal] Alec saw the flash of fur as the Sivaoan leapt away and followed at a slower pace, then paused. Can you handle things here? One of us should check the situation in the next car.Left Ear looked at him and arched her whiskers, then said, Yes, I've got him.Alec nodded and headed toward the back of the car and into the next. [ Melihn Ryah] Ryah noted the Ferengi talking to Saya and took a few steps closer, knowing that neither she nor the chief engineer were intimidating enough to make him back down, but Sven at her back might make Brack think twice before causing any problems. [ Cwm Eliska Bremmer - Orient Express ]The situation within the train was degenerating quickly. Between the dead individual in front of her and the initial casualty, that was two dead. Of course, a mere Security Crewman did not have the authority to declare anyone as dead; that was for the medical types to do so. But in a crowded space, panic could spread like a wildfire; and in a malfunctioning holodeck? It was begging for things to get thoroughly screwy, and for folk to entirely lose their minds... However, it would seem that Chief Ozu started making leadership noises, getting Starfleet personnel back on duty, but she was already occupied with something. Between Chief Melinh and Mister Aune, Security would be well-covered, and where she was currently parked, she was observing the room, and then words like 'poison' were being thrown around... and then their host fell and started convulsing. She was no expert, but of there was a toxin involved? She would have to start taking some form of initiative at this point in time. Chloe, Ensign, Hudson, was speaking the grieving widow... but if the issue was poison then it was likely very fast-acting, and it might be very much limited, or very much widespread. Which meant there was one thing she needed to do. "Everyone!" she barked out in her sharply accented voice, "Put your food and drink down, and do not take anything else. But, remain calm!"

[ Ozu Saya, Left Ear to-Ennien - Orient Express] Turning finally to Doug and Shavan, the chief said, Do what you can, please. Perhaps see if you can get any sort of connection to the station's computer with the PADD. I will join you... Saya trailed off as she noted the MC for the evening crumple by the stage. Oh, she said quietly. [Sir Dugris "Doug" Zaman, MBE, PhD, JD, MBA, PE, RA - Orient Express]It seemed Sir Doug's suggestion about the train had not been well received - which was a shame, but understandable - but the need to get on working was clear. "Come with me," he told the Andorian, as he himself began to walk towards where he'd been sitting. "I left my bag, so we can see what's in it real quick in addition to a PADD."After reaching the spot where they'd left Aryn behind, Sir Doug opened his briefcase and began looking through it. As usual, he had a large supply of peculiar trinkets, like flags, paperwork, a little Kahless statuette, a bag of cough drops, as well as a PADD, a tricorder, and a very old pager from pre-warp Vulcan. "What's your name, sir?" he asked the Andorian now. [Charlie Fox - Dining Car, Orient Express]When the older man with the cat-parrot on his shoulder, who apparently enjoyed a muffin or two, began to speak about the space-time continuum and 1914 and Sarajevo, she looked at him blankly. Her eyes flickered from the Chief and back to him, wondering if this situation was being taken as seriously as was required. Stuck in a holodeck with a malfunctioning program, people getting murdered, unable to leave and no safety protocols - stopping the hurtling, steam-powered death box they were all riding in seemed like the very least they should be doing. Thankfully, Ozu seemed to have caught on to the danger. She nodded. "Yes, I can do that." She turned toward T'Laara, who had remained seated and was wondering aloud as to what the great detective's first move might be. Charlie had to admit, she was rather taken not just with the Vulcan's poise, but with what seemed like curiosity in the face of the potential mystery. "I think he might start with trying to find out what the connection between the victims could be, if any. First though, I'm going to see if we can find someone in charge, maybe see if I can get my hands on a manifest. Care to join?" [ Shavan Th’zhaar - Orient Express] Shavan nodded to Chief Ozu. "I will." He then followed her gaze to where the event's host had collapsed. Suddenly he found himself feeling more motivated to get this done quickly to get out of there, before he could become the next victim. "We'd best get on with it. I'll let you know when we make the connection.. or if there's any more trouble."
He followed the old man through the train car, and watched him start taking things out of the bag. Most of it looked useless, with the obvious exception of the tricorder. "Someone could use that to scan for the poison." Finally the PADD was produced, and the man asked his name. “Shavan Th’zhaar. I’m a science officer.” he replied, to clarify. "And you?" Tag Ozu Saya Dugris Zaman ________ [ T’Laara - Orient Express] “A simple, but logical course of action. I will accompany you.” Charlie’s company was not unpleasant. And at the very least, it would provide something to occupy her mind, so as to not devolve into panic. She got up and started walking towards the front, where the driver and controls to stop the train should be. "There must be some reason to this, even if it is a simple desire to cause chaos. A manifest could be a place to start looking for connections. Do you know anything about any of them?" she glanced back somberly towards where Left Ear was helping Redd, before pushing open the doors to the next section of the train. Tag Charlie Fox

[ Leanna & Jem Sparkles - Orient Express] With Jack taking care of refreshments and Jeffy feeling a little more like his usual Jem self thanks to the double whiskey, Leanna remained by his side just in case, especially with Starfleet and the medics dealing with the increasingly worrisome situation. From something that had been so much fun, it was a little surreal to see it all change so rapidly but then again, she shouldn't be to surprised as living on a Federation base was never straightforward. Not that she would want to leave and go somewhere quieter as she watched various people begin to move out, their emotions speaking to her as the investigation got under way, leaving the Betazoid to worry about Redd and everyone within the confines of the train. It was a natural response from Leanna, especially with so many emotions in play and yet had to cling on to some kind of hope, that this would be resolved and that the person responsible for the poisoning would be caught. Of course she kept these thoughts to herself with the exception of Jeffy, which had resulted in a private telepathic conversation between the pair, before Left Ear called out to her and asked if she could try and find a medical or first aid kit. Having met and gotten to know the Sivaoan, Lea quickly responded, happy to be of use, especially after seeing Redd convulse. " Sure, I'll be back as soon as I can" she replied, then picking up the hem of her dress, left the table and began her search.

|Holodeck Orient Express || lt. cmdr. Sven Aune|The confusion was mounting up. And the fact that the program seemed to be stuck and the arch couldn't be summoned was a whole 'nother problem. One thing at a time Sven thought to himself. People were falling left and right, and foam was gurgling from their mouths. He was reminded of rabies. But that wasn't really the problem here. Redd was now down and foaming. Sven would allow the medical people to do their jobs. Brack had made the most odd declaration to which the large security officer responded, "No one said anything about you being put into custody." he looked over and saw Redd fall, as foam began to issue from his mouth. "Redd's been poisoned as well. Medic!" he said. He looked back at the Ferangi. "Do you know anything about this?"Sven's attitude was taking a turn for the worst. An evening out. One in which he really didn't want to do, but did because of home problems was turning sour. And his patience with it. [Brack - Dining Car, Orient Express]"She said it," Brack said with some confusion as he pointed towards the Chief in charge. "Just now. You hyoo-mons and your tiny, useless ears." He shook his head, his tongue darting out over his pointed teeth, licking his lips. Brack the Legendary didn't see what all the big fanfare was about - this crew were just as incompetent as the Parsinp woman's. "Why would I know anything about it?" He was still looking at the big Lieutenant like he had sprouted another head. "He's been poisoned, too?" Suddenly the reality of the situation hit the self-involved Ferengi, and he unleashed a squeal of terror. "Poisoned! It could happen to any of us!""I DON'T WANT TO DIEEEE!" He screamed. He was too young. He had not yet amassed enough profit and power. It was too soon!

Callista wavered a little on her feet, the dead lover in the corner promptly forgotten. "Where's the doctor? Why aren't we being beamed to Sickbay?" All around them a crowd had gathered, wanting a better look at the drama unfolding. Overhearing Callista's words, a few of them began to murmur urgently to each other. Then, when the woman fell to the ground, voices grew in volume and desperation. The telltale foam appeared at her already blue lips, and her body began flopping about like a fish out of water. Panicked civilians started to push their way toward the car doors, keen to escape whatever had befallen Callista Maybourne.

Left Ear acknowledged Alec's instructions and turned back to the felled MC, noticing the foam beginning to develop at his lips. Without knowing what the poison was, she couldn't begin any sort of real treatment, but it was nearly always better to get poison out of the system if at all possible. Would you see if there is a medical or first aid kit somewhere, please? [Benjamin J. Reddington - Dining Car, Orient Express]Reddington had no idea what was happening to him as the Sivaoan moved him on his side, and then unceremoniously stuck her furry fingers down his gullet. At first, there was no reaction, but a few long moments later his chest began to heave. Then, once it started, the purge seemed as though it wouldn't stop. A mixture of champagne, gin gimlets and the barely digested caviar came up, creating a small pool of stomach contents on the ground. The heaving continued for a time, though nothing else came up. The man groaned, still unconscious, though his pallor was losing its bluish tint.

[ T’Laara - Orient Express] “A simple, but logical course of action. [Charlie Fox - Dining Car -> Driver's Cab]Charlie shook her head in response to T'Laara's question as she followed the woman out of the Dining Car and onwards. "The waiter we know is one of the Blue Beta's and Reddington I've only met tonight. His reputation does precede him a little, though. If my sources are correct, he's just finished a stint in a correctional facility, so it's possible he made an enemy or two."The Lounge Car seemed to be in even worse disarray than the Dining Car. People were shoving and pushing, while Charlie and T'Laara were moving against the traffic flow. "Hey! Slowly, slowly. Calm down, people!" Over the din she could hear a very distinctive accent ordering people to calm, and then she saw Chloe Hudson, busy with another guest. There were at least a couple of hopefully cooler heads here to wrangle the masses. She pressed forward, glancing toward her Vulcan companion every now and then to ensure she was still with her, and faring okay. "I'm starting to think your chaos theory might be closer to the truth," Charlie ground out through a clenched jaw as they approached the door at the far end of the car. Just a few more steps and they should be able to speak with the pilot. When the door was opened, inside the conductor and the driver were speaking in raised, concerned voices, heard over the mechanical sounds of the locomotive as soon as they stepped within and let the door shut behind them. "It's disengaged completely! We won't be able to apply the brake in an emergency!"

But, remain calm!"|Holodeck Orient Express || lt.

With the collapse of the waiter in the other car, she was reminded of a saying Harmon had drilled into her 'there's no such thing as a coincidence'. This was beyond a medical issue now. It was a security one. Given the circumstances of the casualties, poison seemed the most likely suspect, which Kova and Eliska also seemed to conclude. "We're doing all we can to get him help," Chloe said in an attempt to calm the woman down, though she did consciously avoid promising everything would be okay. She couldn't guarantee that. As she recounted drinking the wine and then mentioned the man's wife she seemed to suddenly calm down as she declared she would not be the one to do so. Probably for the best given the circumstances. "If it comes to that, we'll send someone qualified," she assured her. "What else had he eaten or drank?" [Callista Maybourne, aka The Mourning Banshee - Lounge Car, Orient Express]"Yes, the Bollinger. It's the best champagne of the era, apparently. Phoenix had done his research.

Typical. They were just shy of being as dramatic as Klingons. Maybe that's why the hated each other so much. In a constant competition of who can flail around more. Sven sighed. He didn't care much for this Ferangi, and his business of gambling. And given the situation, the last thing they needed was panicking people... That said, Bremmer made a declaration. She shouted to the car that everyone drop what they are doing. Stop eating. Okay, that's one way to get their attention he thought. And overall he was fine with that. But the next part made him groan. Don't panic... People had a tendency to hear only the last part. Subconsciously they miss the "don't" part and only hear "panic" She would need some more training. Right now though, he wasn't going to step in. He was curious to see how she would handle this. Perhaps Bremmer had the makings of deputy. He'd observe. The panicking Ferangi brought his mind back to reality. Sven didn't have much patience and his war time training kicked in. He popped the man in the lobes with enough force to drop him into a realm of sleepy-bye. He shook his fingers. He looked to Rayh. "This is a small space. No way out. The program is stuck. People are going to panic. They will get restless to know what's going on. They already know that there has been a poisoning."He signaled for Bremmer then spoke to her. "I want you to consolidate the civilians into a safe group. I'm putting you on point to ensure their safety. You're word is law right now." He was testing her further. How would she handle a bit of power and authority?
The next part made Sven feel really weird. He was ordering his ex-boss. "Ryah, I would like you to work with the serving staff to coordinate a removal of all the food and drink. Isolate it into a separate place so forensics can investigate it when we can get this train program stopped."Tags Eliska Bremmer Ozu Saya Charlie Fox

[ Shavan Th’zhaar - Orient Express] Shavan nodded to Chief Ozu.
"And you?" [Sir Dugris "Doug" Zaman, MBE, PhD, JD, MBA, PE, RA - Orient Express]"Sir Doug Zaman. I'm a scientist myself, among other things," Sir Doug introduced himself. "And my furry companion here is PooDoo."PooDoo made a move at this juncture to explore the briefcase, seeking treats. "We can certainly give the Tricorder over to medical, and use the PADD ourselves. Hopefully we can get it to interface with... something," he said. This technology worked like a charm sometimes, but could be very finicky at other times.

We won't be able to apply the brake in an emergency!" [ T’Laara - Orient Express] T’Laara stayed close behind Charlie as they pushed through the crowded lounge car. She nodded as Charlie replied that she didn’t know the victims, but had heard that Redd was someone likely to have enemies. “That is possible. Unfortunately, it is one possibility among many.” As they walked she caught a brief glimpse of the second victim, another human man she did not recognize, before some other guests pushed between her and the unfortunate scene. Finally they reached the driver’s car, and… “Oh.. oh no.” She stared in alarm at the conductor. Between the out of control train and the renewed panic in the lounge car as yet another person collapsed, T’Laara felt her detachment slipping. For a moment she said nothing else as she regained composure. “If it is indeed the case that someone is trying to cause as much chaos as possible, then they are getting their wish. Chief Ozu, or someone else in Starfleet should be informed of this.” T’Laara looked back out the door, to the chaotic lounge car. “If there is truly a killer behind this, it possible they sabotaged the train and the holodeck controls as well. An extensively thought out plan.” She took a steadying breath, watching for anyone strange or suspicious. Tag Charlie Fox

[ Kova Sh'qaleq - Orient Express] Kova was quite certain that they had just played a complete round of Not It when it came to telling the wife of this poor schmoe that not only had he bit the big one, but that he'd been dunking his doughnuts in someone else's coffee. Kova had no idea what it meant, but a lot of people in the security office did replicate both coffee and doughnuts. Nevertheless, it did seem that Chloe had managed to get the banshee to take five. Not to mention pulling some valuable information from her: champagne and caviar. It seemed to make all the sense in the world that one of the two items had to be the source of the poison. Even as Bremmer went off to tell everyone not to eat or drink anything, Kova felt certain that she was safe. If this Bollinger was the top-shelf stuff, it was a safe bet that the Andorian had been served the generic crap. Somehow annoyed by the notion that she hadn't been exposed to the toxin, Kova crossed her arms in front of her chest. In the meantime, her mind began to sift through how they had managed to be stuck in this holodeck. She doubted anyone had the ability to restrict access to the degree that it had been. After all, with Chief Ozu there, the Vulcan should have been able to override it. That suggested that it was possibly in the program itself. The possibilities seemed to filter through the Andorian's head. Someone had made a rudimentary program that lacked the interface subroutines, but safety protocols would typically overwrite a basic interface if that were the case. It was possible that a timer had been tied to the program along or a certain resolution had to be reached. Her thoughts were interrupted by a strange man whom had come through the car's door. She had recognized the man known as Alec because he'd been with some other woman she didn't know. Strangers to the station, which suggested they could be responsible. Maybe, he was coming to check up on his handiwork. "Who're you?" she asked the El-Aurian. Though, her attention was quickly captured by the sound of the banshee now acting like a tuna fresh out of its net. As she flopped around on the floor, there was a hint of pride in Kova's eye as she had surmised the woman had been exposed as well. Of course, there was the small matter of the woman likely dying right before them. "Can one of you make her project bile?" Kova asked. The fact that she was flopping about suggested her body was likely trying to expel the toxin... or perhaps not. Human physiology was about as predictable as the words that came out of their mouths.

[ Shavan Th’zhaar - Dining Car, Orient Express] Shavan gave a slight nod in acknowledgement. “Among other things?” Whatever else, Doug did seem like an unusual person. Shavan hadn’t yet decided whether he found him to be vexing or interesting. The same went for PooDoo, since he had never had a pet before. Shavan quickly reached around her and picked up the PADD. Without waiting for further invitation he powered it on and scanned for connections. Something was blocking communication signals outside the holodeck, but he entered the commands necessary to bypass any security protocols and gain access to the program. He wasn't sure he knew enough about the intricacies of holographic code to fix it, but what he could do was just delete the entire program. Except, either the holodeck controls or the PADD seemed to be glitching. Or both. Shavan positioned the screen so Doug could see it, in case he actually did have any useful advice. “I've connected to something, but it's not stable. Though, naturally, she would reveal herself to be what some would refer to as a 'side piece.' Tags: Matthew Harmon (Chloe), Kova Sh'qaleq , Security to Lounge Car Eliska Bremmer Left Ear acknowledged Alec's instructions and turned back to the felled MC, noticing the foam beginning to develop at his lips. Without knowing what the poison was, she couldn't begin any sort of real treatment, but it was nearly always better to get poison out of the system if at all possible.

Tag: Shavan Th'zhaar (T'Laara) [ Cwm Eliska Bremmer - Orient Express ]The situation within the train was degenerating quickly. But, remain calm!" Typical.
Isolate it into a separate place so forensics can investigate it when we can get this train program stopped."Tags Eliska Bremmer Ozu Saya Charlie Fox [Alec Trenzal] Alec saw the flash of fur as the Sivaoan leapt away and followed at a slower pace, then paused. Panicked civilians started to push their way toward the car doors, keen to escape whatever had befallen Callista Maybourne.

With barely a glance at Kova, he said, Alec Trenzal. I'm a doctor. He dropped to his knees and got his arms around the woman, gripping his fist in his other hand and pulling up sharply to try to get her to vomit. She looked in bad shape, but without medical supplies, this was all he could do for now. Any chance someone could try to find me a first aid kit? Or a med kit? Alec grunted.

[ Ozu Saya and Melihn Ryah] Saya lifted her eyes to the ceiling as the Ferengi began to shriek. Her ears weren't as sensitive as a full Vulcan's, but it the close proximity of the train car, it hurt. Be silent! she roared, unable to stand the squealing on top of the rising noise of the other passengers' panic. Ryah gave the chief engineer an impressed look at the volume of her command, then nodded in agreement with Sven's order/suggestion. She appreciated how he'd phrased it. On it, she said with a small, quick smile, striding off. Hey! she called, flagging down one of the servers. We need to gather all the food up, carefully, and secure it for testing. Can I get one person to help me collect the food and drink from the vicinity of the victims? I want to keep it separate from the rest if possible.

[ Left Ear to-Ennien] Left Ear's nose wrinkled at the smell of vomit and bile as Reddington expelled the contents of his stomach, but his color improved almost immediately, and his scent changed to, well, less sick since the sick was now on the outside. She left her tail propping the man on his side as she stretched her neck to see if Leanna was on her way back with a medical kit. While she waited, Left Ear turned her head slowly, smelling and tasting the air for anything that smelled like the poison, or anyone else who smelled of it.

This program is either broken, or was designed that way.”Tag Dugris Zaman [Sir Dugris "Doug" Zaman, MBE, PhD, JD, MBA, PE, RA - Dining Car, Orient Express]Sir Doug waved over a server. "Give this to the Doctor, Dr. Trenzal. Tell him it's from Sir Doug. Tell him to give it back when this is all over," the ancient man ordered, and the server nodded. The tricorder would soon make it to Alec. With that, the man refocused his attention on Shavan. "Designed this way? You think it's sabotage?" he asked rhetorically. "Maybe try to access the changelog of the program. If it was tampered with, that'll tell us."Sir Doug wasn't sure if the changelogs were written in natural language these days. For some reason, that wasn't a very universal approach. PooDoo, for her part, found her bag of treats and helped herself. She had become quite good at opening things over the years.
