|Blackroot Bistro, Gallo || Sven Aune || Vello Fen|
The Blackroot was, what would be considered an high end tap bar, serving a verity of home crafted brews along with some of the more eclectic selection found in this sector. Along with steaks, high end burgers and other such foodstuffs found in such restaurant.
Sven sat across from Vello, and in his opinion, the man was quite good looking. With just enough scruff to accentuate his long boney face. He was seemingly refined individual sharing some of artwork. Some of which was quite nice. Other.... well Sven didn't know much about good art or crap. And in his opinion some of it was crap. But he didn't say so.
Vello was interested in Sven's career in Star Fleet, asking him questions about his time in the Dominion war. He was quite keen to talk about his combat experience and Sven shared some of the less personal and gory encounters he had had. Vello also seemed interested in his job as chief of security upon a station, and Sven shared some of the less intrusive stories. They both had a good laugh about Kova, the grumpy Andorian and some of her antisocial antics. Sven paid for both their meals and walked out onto the busy street.
"You know the night is still young," Vello started with is sultry voice, "You ever done karaoke?"
Sven frowned. Karaoke was not something he enjoyed. But in the interest of a first date he decided that he would give it a try. "I've gone a few times, why?"
"I know a really good place. A good group of people. Lots of fun."
Sven smiled and nodded. "Alright." They both hopped into his rental. "Where's it at."
Vello flashed a dashing smile in return, "It's were all the best bars are located. In Fenlo."
"What's it called." Sven reached over to access the navigation.
"It doesn't have a name. It's a group of friends that hang out. I'd love to introduce you."
Sven didn't think much of it. "Alright, how do we get there."
Vello slapped the dash in good nature. "That's the spirit! Just take this main road into the Fenlo district. I'll give you directions as you go along."
"You seem to know this place well." Sven observed.
"Well, ya. I mean I've lived here a few years."
"Didn't your profile say you lived on Bajor."
"Dual residence. Part of the year back home near family, part of the year here, gaining inspiration. This planet has a lot to offer."
"I can see. Reminds me of Risa." Sven said.
"You say that as if you don't like Risa"
"To be honest, I don't. It's too decadent for my tastes. I don't like tourist hot spots."
"They can be fun. Oh turn here."
Sven did and noticed that the buildings were changing from opulent into more run down, unkept as they traveled on. A few minutes later Vello indicated him to pull into a parking lot in front of a small non-descript warehouse.
"This is it!" Vello said happily as he opened the door to the aero-car and stepped out.
"This seems really sketchy." Sven said.
"Oh, it is! But the best places are!"
Sven got out and followed Vello. They rounded a corner into an alleyway. Standing there were three men and a woman. They all seemed thuggish. One waved to Vello.
"Vello, glad you could make it. We were about to send out for you. Figured you were going to skip town."
"Nah. It took me a while, but I think I'll be able to pay back Florgish." he grinned at Sven. All four thugs moved in on the security officer. Sven realized that he had been duped. So much for a nice vacation. He took a fighting stance. But didn't get a chance to swing when he felt a pain in his neck. He swatted at it, and pulled a small metal dart from his neck. A moment later his vision blurred and the last thing he remembered was Vello saying, "nighty night..."

[ Mott | Two Suns Market, Dostallo ]A little Bolian boy, no older than thirteen years old seemed to materialize next to a Bajoran family. He hadn't yet grown out of his short black hair and his ears were little. He reached out past the lady (who he did not know was called Ozu Saya) to pick up a wooden bowl. " Don't mind them, auntie, they're just probably from Fenlo. They wouldn't know a good tomitopi if one laid an egg in their breakfast," he said in a strong Celladore accent. He nodded sagely. Tourists always needed informed of things like this. " Can I have some of that?" he asked then without hestitation, indicating whatever the little baby was snacking on. Ozu Saya [Two Suns Market - Dostallo] Following a slight delay in leaving the hotel, thanks to the over friendly Bolian proprietor who wanted to know if Lea would be back for the evening meal. Lea had brought her own expertise into play when she assured him, that if she wasn't then she would definitely require a late night snack in her room which seemed to satisfy his need to please and after saying her farewells, finally made it out onto the street. There was something about the market place and the whole immediate area, that in some ways reminded Lea of home and she took a moment to appreciate where she was, before she headed towards the market stalls themselves. Today was mainly to look and not buy or so she kept telling herself, especially when she had the meeting to go to and didn't want to be laden down by bags and various trinkets, until she was at least headed back to her hotel. Still it was nice to speak to the vendors when she stopped by their stalls, accepting one particular sweet treat as she didn't want to say no, owing to the look of sheer gratitude on the stall holder's face following her promises of it being the best in Celladore City. Although Lea had to admit that it tasted amazing and so went on her way, eating the iced confection without getting it everywhere. She could easily imagine Riyo's reaction if he saw her eating it and the thought of her Boyfriend elicited a smile, something that occurred a lot when she was in his company. Sweet treat consumed, Leanna continued walking amongst the stalls, speaking to those who greeted her, until she recognised a small family up ahead and Bolian boy who was talking to them. Speeding up a little, Lea knew that she couldn't just pass by without saying hello and as she got nearer did just that. " Hi, Saya, Kyo and Evekh" she said, before acknowledging the Bolian boy, with another friendly, " Hello".
tag Ozu Saya Kaya Som[ Ozu Saya, Domen Kyo and Domen Evekh - Two Suns Market] Saya jumped a little in surprise to find the young Bolian boy suddenly beside her, and a little closer than she was strictly comfortable with. Her hand unconsciously checked her bag as her eyes followed the boy's movement as he picked up one of the bowls she'd been looking at. Kyo, who was always better with people, responded to the boy's comment mildly, Just don't want to get trampled while on vacation.Saya, after a moment's hesitation, tilted the packet of dried fruit toward the Bolian boy, saying, Help yourself. Whether he was hungry or just wanted to try the treat, Saya had learned at the knee of the mistress of feeding people. She couldn't say no. Her gregarious child looked down on them from behind his father's shoulder and flapped a slightly pudgy hand at the older boy, offering a cheerful, Hi! which turned into more excitement when he saw Lea approach. Hi! Hi! he repeated excitedly. Lea, hello, Saya said. Kyo nodded to the bar owner and smiled, even as he winced when Evekh accidentally kicked him hard in the side.

[Charlie Fox - Dinla's Emporium of Tomorrow -> The Zephyr Club, Fenlo]"Want some help?" She asked, nodding at the plate of fruits. The hovering, attentive bartender was upon them in a heartbeat. "I'll have one of those, please," she told him, pointing at Kova's glass of Andorian ale. Or at least, she thought it was Andorian ale. Considering the assumption, Charlie found herself looking back at Kova, her expression almost amused. "It won't kill me, will it?" One thing the Zephyr had in addition to its authenticity was calm. If you excused the excessive pampering, there wasn't the constant buzz and drone of peppy conversation. No outbursts of false laughter just for the sake of the sound of it. Most people were involved in intimate conversations that they didn't care to advertise. Yet, that didn't mean that eyes didn't wander. Kova glanced up from her table towards the bar once again, the pair still glancing in her direction. She had even caught the subtle gesture one of them made in her direction. The grip on Kova's glass tensed a bit, just before she realized that she wasn't alone. The question of whether she wanted help or not had come from the familiar voice and face of Charlie Fox. "What could you possibly help me with?" Kova asked with a hint of amusement. If they were both being honest, it was Charlie who was probably about a pint short of needing help back to whatever lush accommodations had been offered to her. Realizing that she was gesturing towards the fruit, Kova pushed the tray towards a vacant seat as Charlie ordered one of the glasses of ale. The Andorian smirked at her question. "Kill? No. Though, it may severely maim you."Kova couldn't say that she was surprised to find Charlie here in Fenlo. Of all the humans she'd come to know on Front Ear Station, Charlie seemed the least content by comfort. No, she found her comfort in truth and reality. So, if any of them were to go out of their way to find the real heart of 'Twilight City', it'd be Fox who would venture out beyond the luxurious tourists traps to this out of the way borough. "You're not lost are you?" Kova asked, though she doubted that was the case. Another glance seemed to show that the pair was intrigued by the arrival of Charlie at the table. The Andorian made a mental note to watch them carefully. Her eyes moved back to Charlie. "You're... pinker than usual," she remarked noticing what she felt was a bit more color in Charlie's cheeks.

She looked like she was holding in a volcanic explosion. She walked past patrons who recognized her and she forced a smile in greeting. "Hey, how's it, Ellio? What's the word?""Good to see you, Kibs," she replied. "Oi oi, how's that uncle of yours?""Won't stay in bed!"She continued past an Andorian and a human companion and back around behind the bar. "They're going through with it," Ellio said. "The vomsi dogs are going through with it," she said to the bartender. "And Uncle won't sell?""He'd rather die. [ Callum Tashar | Cho, restaurant in Mazzalo ]Cho was the home of the most cutting edge cuisine in the system, or so the advertisements claimed, and it was patronized by Celladore's most loved celebrities including councilman Callum Tashar. He'd come directly from Twin Suns Market where he'd had the pride to announce one of his most exciting accomplishments - the expansion of the space port. The whole process had been frought with politics, schmoozing donors, and massaging zoning regulations. Sure, there were a few stubborn Fenlovians, but that lot never seemed to be satisfied. They'd held out to the end, but now there was nothing that could be done. The groundbreaking would be coming in just a few short weeks! Unable to resist the opportunity to speak, Callum had his glass raised to his throng of invited guests. " ... this would have been impossible without your generous investments. Do I see Mr and Mr Gamish back there? Get your noses out of the canape, stand up! Be recognized! The Gamishes - famous in Gallo, selfless, hardworking, industrious, successful - they have my thanks." Callum went on like this for quite some time, his audience ever captive to his charisma and position. But when he finally found his chair again he gestured to his assistant. " Where is Cashem? Where is my son?" "I'm sorry, sir, but ... he's ... out." --- And out was Cashem Tashar, indeed, again as ever. Endlessly absent from his father's accomplishments, and his lifestyle completely funded from the Tashar family's deep coffers. Where he went, Callum never knew, sure that all the explanations offered were lies. In a burst of honestly he'd blurted, 'you don't want to know!' And it was true. If anyone ever found out that the son of Callum Tashar was frequenting The Fights ... well, you don't want to know. FYI Sven Aune

[ Niva | Gallo ]Niva cocked her hip and with a small wand-like device in her hand, she levitated down a bottle from her head-carrier. She held it up. The lights of the borough made the glass and its pale blue contents sparkly. Etched in the glass was a single eye, open wide. " Many species have trouble with the constant daylight," she explained to the tall human with the open attitude. " And in Celladore there's just so much to see and do - well, I enterprise to help poor travellers who see far too much of their fine hotel rooms." " This," she continued, " is my trademark Niva's Wide-Eye Waker-Upper, designed to the molecule based on all the recent research to buy you an extra seventy-two hours, alert and relaxed. And it's cross-species compatible guaranteed." She held it out sticking out her tongue in a strange smile. " First one's free, Starfleet." Niva believed in her product. It was easy to sell the good stuff. No more peddling replicated wine, no sir! Joshua Niles

[Ens. Phoebe Volante, Adjur - Fenlo, Adjur's Arena] [...] As the woman passed the bar she noticed a sign reading 'Happy hour'. She hoped it lasted longer than an hour, she wanted to try as much as she could when she went in. The sound of a lute drifted through the open door, attempting to pull her in. Alluring as the sound was it would have to wait, but it piqued her interest enough to look through the window as she passed. Unfortunately the light difference between the inside and the outside was too much and all she could make out was vague shapes inside. She shrugged lightly in disappointment and crossed the road to her destination, Adjur's Arena. [...] One thing the Zephyr had in addition to its authenticity was calm. She asked, her expression suggesting she was about to launch into an "aren't we all!?" speech, but the couple of fruity shots over at Dinny's was doing a really good job of slowing everything down. Her thoughts, that new bartender's movements, the eyes the couple at the end of the bar were giving Kova - no, her - no, definitely Kova, and Phoebe Volante passing by the window. How strange. [Chloe Hudson - En Route to Fenlo]
Chloe was excited to get a chance to explore more of the galaxy. She grew up on a colony on the Cardassian border which ended up on the Cardassian side of the Demilitarized Zone, and lived most of her life before getting into Starfleet Academy on small colonies. Ayo, and its Twilight City was an exciting experience. The night before she had gone to the theatre for the first time which she really enjoyed. It was good to get away from the station too, she needed the break. The Intelligence Department was understaffed enough as it is, but with Bav being exposed by Kaya as passing information to the Nyberite's, Chloe had been saddled with even more of the workload. Not to mention she was poisoned not long ago and almost died.
It was a lovely warm day, they seemed to have arrived at the right time. Or maybe Ayo was always this idyllic? She hadn't been to Fenlo so far, so when she heard Kaya was planning on checking out a junk shop there she asked if she could tag along. She might get some new gadget to play with too. But mostly she was looking forwards to exploring the city a bit more. "You been to Fenlo yet?" she asked Kaya as the got onto the hovertram. She'd heard it was the shadier side of town, but Chloe was confident Kaya and her would be alright.

"Well," she announced, glancing back at Kova, "You look as blue as ever." Smooth. "Not interrupting anything, am I? That pair are proper eye-screwing you."[...] [ Kova Sh'qaleq - The Zephyr Club, Fenlo] There was only a hint of a smile on Kova's face as Charlie suggesting that she could live with maiming. "I believe the human expression is: 'famous last words,'" she replied as she sipped from her own glass once more. She'd tasted human booze, and most of them were rather tame in her estimation. Still, she was amused to a degree to see Charlie accept the challenge of a real drink nonetheless. She regaled some tale of how she celebrated with some establishment... and the hideous translation of its title. She also chalked up some of her pinkness due to the constant sun exposure, given that this city lacked a literal nightlife. Kova's own eyes rose to the ceiling which offered a few glimpses of sunlight. It was only further testament to the disrepair and lack of attention that this borough received. How could a portion of the city be booming with money, and allow this area to suffer as it clearly was. Charlie then stated that she was as blue as ever. "I am aware," Kova stated simply. If she was resorting to stating the obvious in such a fashion, then Charlie was likely drunk. She asked if she was interrupting and then made the comment that the pair at the end of the bar were 'eye-screwing' her. "What?" Kova could recall how humans preferred to engage in fascination from afar. She could remember from her Academy days, how timid they were about making their hormonal intentions known. "Is that what they're doing?" she asked, not trying to conceal her annoyance. Kova rolled her eyes and sighed. While she could see the appeal and attractiveness of the pair, her interest was rather low. "You humans are rather timid when it comes to sex," Kova declared. "Especially, when it involves more than one partner. It all becomes so... technical, and a plan is required. Andorians... Risians... Deltans... none of them have this issue. Neither do Betazoids, but they can be rather selfish and caught up in their feelings." Kova paused a moment, and then realized just how much she'd said. "... or so I've heard."Kova watched as a woman, someone called Ellio, marched into the bar, clearly upset about something. It didn't take long for her to pick up that it was over some issue... something that sounded to be wrapped up in politics as well as economics. She pulled out a small padd and began tapping away upon it. "Do you know what they're talking about?" Of course there was a rather direct way to find out: ask. Though, Kova preferred her own roundabout way of getting information. "The connection here is roozh[fn]excrement[/fn]! In fact... it wouldn't surprise me if it was being suppressed intentionally." Kova applied a few subroutines and eventually achieved a bit of a boost in the signal that gave her the access that she wanted. She then began to casually peruse the local newsfeeds.

Tag Ozu Saya Kaya Som [ Ozu Saya, Domen Kyo and Domen Evekh - Two Suns Market] Mama, my drum, Evekh said imperiously in response to Lea's question. Saya looked up at him with a benignly raised eyebrow until the little boy added, Please? With a nod, she reached into her satchel and pulled out a small, hand-sized drum. It was a good quality instrument, not a toy, but one they felt comfortable enough allowing the toddler to learn on. He already played a wooden kazoo rather well for his age. When he'd asked for the drum, his musically-inclined parents couldn't say no. When Saya handed it to him, Evekh rolled his fingertips across the top, rather than simply pounding on it like one might have expected such a young child to do. Evekh could be exuberant and excitable like any other boy his age, but his parents had instilled a respect of instruments from the moment of his birth. The little drum made a pleasingly full sound as Evekh tapped it. Thankfully, the sound wasn't particularly loud since he was using his father's shoulder right beside his ear to brace the instrument. Saya turned her attention back to the Bolian boy and raised her eyebrow again as he first flattered, then requested credits from Lea. She wasn't sure how she would have responded if the boy had asked her to borrow credits, but she was glad to see Lea being cautious. We would be happy to buy you a meal if you're hungry, she offered. Kyo hesitated a moment, then nodded in agreement. He was a little more suspicious of the boy's motivations, and would take extreme care with his family there.

[ Lt Joshua Niles - Somewhere in the Gallo, Celladore City ]
No sooner had he asked what was available on offer, the Ferengi took a stance that might be considered seductive by some species, and she made use of some sort of want to send a bottle that sparkled with a bluish tinge. Well, she certainly had a sense for showmanship, using a downsized tractor beam to hand over her wares; odds are, that sedate presentation she was using was for his benefit; because, well, he'd been told that even out of uniform, even without his commbadge pinned where it could be visible, he pretty much radiated Starfleet no matter what he did. With her spiel regarding her supposedly patented concoction, he found himself having some rather interesting questions about it. What research was she on about? He was hardly a scientist, let alone a physician, and the guarantee of cross-species compatibility was one that was hardly surprising. Most species reacted a similar way to certain families of compounds, after all. And of course, he had to weigh the pros and cons. Conscious for another 3 days, while being relaxed? He had plenty of leave on hand to enjoy in case there was a crash, and if push came to shove, he could regularize with a quick visit to the Federation consulate's medical bay. "Why not?" he found himself answering before he was done considering the pros and cons. And, against what his better judgement might have indicated, he cracked the bottle and poured its contents down his throat. The taste wasn't unpleasant, and there was an interesting warmth spreading from his throat and digestive tract out as the potion, for lack of a better term, made its way down to his stomach. So far so good... However, once it reached his stomach, the reaction was much, much faster. The human body was a fine piece of biological machinery, and it had this uncanny knack of knowing precisely when something noxious was being administered, and it had a very short way to deal with it. Which happened just as something on the back end of that drink just inflamed his entire mouth as though he'd just bitten into a rather powerful chili pepper. And his stomach contract painfully, and started to rebel. Instantly, his eyes wide and clouded with tears, he looked around in a panic, and took three rapid steps towards the nearest garbage can, and he barely had the time to lean forward and brace himself before everything within his stomach explosively made its way out the way it had come in. That potion, his last meal or so, and a copious amount of bile and stomach acid as his body made every possible effort to rid itself of the substance that he'd just introduced. And the taste that had been pleasant enough on the way down, had turned impossibly foul on the way out, and whatever had interacted with his mouth to emulate the feeling of capsaicin had done the same with his esophagus and his throat, and not only was he dealing with the harshness of stomach acid, but it felt like he was spewing liquid fire. Eventually, the ordeal was over, and he looked up, pale and sweating, and just after spitting out some thoroughly tainted saliva, he snarled, or would have snarled if his breathing had been somewhat under control and his face not contorted in agony. "What... what the hell did you just give me?" Kaya Som

FYI Sven Aune | ? ? ? ? || Sven Aune || Vello Fen | Feggus |"Nice work Vello." the Ferengi began, as e bared his teeth behind his black mask. "He should make a fine fighter. Out clientele, of course demands it, and the stakes are high." the voice was cold and colleced. "And you may have just yet redeemed yourself."Vello smiled a grim smile as he fit a collar around Sven's neck. He stood and faced a couple of large grunts and snapped his fingers. They came to attention "You know what to do." They nodded and each seizing an arm dragged the body out of their sight. Feggus reached up and placed a hand on the Bajorian's shoulder. "I have company to entertain." he said shrewdly. "You stay here and keep searching for prospects." He turned and made his way out of the pits. A short time later he was in an elegant box seat, set for an emperor. Cashem was standing at the large glass window that overlooked the ring. His face was obscured by black mask, just like everyone else in the box. And like everyone else, they were all dressed in the best fashion and jewlery money could buy. It was obvious that these people had not just money, but a lot of it. Feggus came up next to the man, and though he knew his name, he dare not use it. No one here addressed anyone by their name. Anonymity was a necessity. And gambling on blood sport was illegal here. But to some of the rich, the risk was worth the thrills. "Mr. Four," Feggus began. "Who are you favoring tonight?"Tag Kaya Som

[ Cashem Tashar | Adjur's Arena, Fenlo ]The masked young man known as Mr. Four rolled a large coin over his fingers with the deft motion of someone who had far too much time on his hands. [...] "Mr. Four," Feggus began. "Who are you favoring tonight?"[...] " I'm bored Mr. Feggus," Cachem said in a snotty sing-song. " Dreadfully bored. Haven't you got anyone interesting anymore? If I see one more fatherless Klingon or drunk street person I don't what I'll do. Why doesn't anything interesting ever happen on this planet?" Sven Aune , fyi Phoebe Volante
