[ T’Laara - Park] This would have been an opportune moment to vanish in a transporter beam. Unfortunately, the flooded park and concerned captain remained solidly in front of her. “Very well, I will do that. Thank you.” T’Laara was a bit at a loss on how to react to the captain’s almost motherly attitude. It was unexpected; surely she could deal with some water without an escort. However, she refrained from saying so, and simply answered “T’Laara” when the man who was presumably Captain Eastman’s partner asked her name. Then, with as much Vulcan dignity as she could muster given the situation, followed them as they circled around the edge of the broken sprinkler’s range and moved toward the exit. [Capt. Judith Eastman(-Williams) & Max Williams - Park -> Turbolift -> Commanding Officer's Quarters]"I'm Max, Command... sorry, Captain Eastman's husband," Max introduced himself, almost getting his wife's rank wrong (she had been "Commander Eastman" for over a decade[fn]LCDR 2369-2375; CMDR 2375-2380[/fn]) as they came through the exit, to the replicator. "One bath towel," he ordered the replicator. Judy, meanwhile, reached into her purse to retrieve a pair of reading glasses (the contact lenses she wore handled her distance vision, but she needed an extra correction for near-range vision), and accessed a wall panel. However, just as she switched off the sprinkler system, lo and behold, the replicator produced not a towel, but a bowl of tomato soup. "That's... not a towel," Judy stated the obvious. Saya signed off and tapped her badge again. =/\= Ozu to Eastman, I'm on my way to your location. We may have a problem. =/\= =A= "I'm out with the dogs at the moment, so I'd rather you meet me in my quarters. Eastman out," =A= Judy answered, making the snap judgement not to have the corgis in a position to distract from what could be a significant meeting. "You're welcome to come along and freshen up, if you'd like," she offered T'Laara, knowing full well that the young woman might prefer to avoid that and lessen the indignity. Judy and Max headed to the turbolift[fn]Up to Shavan Th'zhaar if T'Laara is coming[/fn]. "Deck 3," he ordered it, and up it moved. Judy made the quick decision that the on-duty ranking officer should be involved in this as well. =A= "Eastman to Harmon, I'll need you to come up to my quarters for a meeting with myself and Chief Ozu," =A= she ordered the young man. The turbolift deposited them on deck 3, and they walked into the expansive but cozy CO's quarters, entering into the living room, with its two large sofas. Also in the same space was a wooden dining table with a copious number of chairs around it, as well as the heavily customized kitchen that produced so many of the treats shared with station crew. Immediately on entering, Judy and Max unleashed the dogs, took off their shoes, then headed to the kitchen to wash their hands and lay out some refreshments. Their movements were harmonious, with only a few words needed. "Cheeseboard?" she suggested, predictably. "I'll get crackers," he agreed, just as predictably.

Or at least that's what he'd been taught, that a Bolian should always accept an offer of food and always provide for if asked. But then, Bolians were all supposed to be nice as well ... Avi just grunted in response. She wasn't a typical Bolian and she'd worked very hard to become so. But then, she'd also worked very hard not to be a mother, and here they were. With that on her mind she made a move to get back to work. "You can stay here. For now. While I figure this out." This put a smile on Mott's face. It was good enough for now. It was then that there was a grinding clunk from overhead, the sound of the magnetic door locks coming ungracefully loose. A half second later, the heavy garage-style door at the front of the shop came crashing down. Mott covered his ears and ducked down. "Fredrik!" [fb]https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Bolian#Language[/fb] Avi had a similar response, uttering a creative string of foul oaths. She stalked over the door and pounded on the panel which had gone dark. Avi would have to use the manual jack. She retrieved a long steel bar, inserted it into the jack and began cranking it up high enough for her slip out. Before she did she pointed a long finger at the boy. "Stay. Put. Don't. Touch. Anything." Mott nodded slowly. [ Avi Moz | Avi's workshop → Engineering ]Avi Moz arrived at engineering fully ready to shout at some gold-shirt idiot. If it wasn't freedom fighters, ship-wide power outages, it was something else. But it seemed Avi wasn't the only one with a complaint. "Hey! Someone initiate station self-destruct and forget to tell me or is this just what we do now? Randomly release mag-locks? Could've lost an arm and mine don't grow back." Engineering: Ozu Saya, Kova Sh'qaleq, Sven Aune (Sorren) {Quoted Posts} [ MCPO Ozu Saya - Chief Engineer's Office] After the bickering pair left her office, Saya took a moment to collapse back in her seat and take a deep breath, staring up at the ceiling. What is going on?She grabbed her PADD and addressed the computer. What is Captain Eastman's location?Captain Eastman is on Deck 6.With a nod to herself, Saya exited her office and then engineering only to find Kova and Sorren just around the corner, with Sorren obviously injured and a panel blackened and sparking beside him. For a brief moment, she thought maybe Kova had decided to do something to the Vulcan, but there was no way she could have caused the panel to explode. Computer, redirect power from relay 72-J.The sparking stopped as the computer drew power from the panel, and Saya turned to look over Sorren's injuries. You should get to sickbay, Lieutenant, she said mildly. Kova, would you accompany me? I would like to ask your assessment of this situation. As the Vulcan security officer didn't appear to be too terribly injured, Saya didn't worry about leaving him to make his own way to sickbay. She headed for the turbolift, tapping her combadge as she walked. =/\= George, a panel just outside engineering just exploded. I've rerouted the power, but get a team on it as quickly as possible. =/\= =/\= Acknowledged, =/\= came the clipped reply. |Outside Saya's office -> sickbay || lt (jr.grd.) Sorren|The Vulcan sucked in air, working to repress the pain, and anger that he felt. Somehow she had done this. The Andorian was working hard to subvert Star Fleet and he had no idea why the irrational humans would allow an Andorian, and one that was a criminal to boot, to work in security. He picked himself up and brushed himself off. Shooting Kova a Vulcan look of contempt, he pushed past her. What was worse, the half Vulcan misfit seemed to be just as illogical as the Andorrian. That was to be expected. Bajorians were known to be on the low end of the IQ spectrum. [...] [ Avi Moz | Avi's workshop → Engineering ]Avi Moz arrived at engineering fully ready to shout at some gold-shirt idiot. If it wasn't freedom fighters, ship-wide power outages, it was something else. But it seemed Avi wasn't the only one with a complaint. "Hey! Someone initiate station self-destruct and forget to tell me or is this just what we do now? Randomly release mag-locks? Could've lost an arm and mine don't grow back." [ Kova Sh'qaleq - Chief Engineer's Office, Front Ear Station ] Kova simply stared down at the Vulcan security officer, his pain more than obvious. It didn't take long before Saya emerged to see what had happened. Kova almost expected to be blamed instantly, but the chief engineer simply replied to Sorren that he needed to get himself to Sickbay. The woman's words certainly surprised the Andorian, but she didn't let her face betray those thoughts. Saya, however, then turned her attention fully on Kova. Not to chastise or accuse the woman, but it sounded as if she had actually asked for her help. One could never be certain with the way Vulcans phrased things. Nevertheless, if this was a security issue then perhaps her expertise was warranted. "Fine," Kova conceded, nodding. Her eyes then turned to Sorren who wanted to make an even more dramatic exit by pushing past her. The Andorian stared after him, certain this was far from over. They were nearly on their way when another, nearly equally annoying obstacle presented itself: Avi Moz. The Bolian had disappeared from the station for months, being Harmon's troll the rumor was. Kova was honestly surprised she hadn't returned in shackles living it up in a holding cell. Yet, it seemed she had a grievance as well, though she didn't seem to be nearly as detailed with what had gone wrong. Kova merely crossed her arms in front of her chest as if waiting on the Bolian to finish. "Really? I'll make a note of that," the Andorian stated dryly. The Bolian really did like to be the center of attention.

I need to make my report to Captain Eastman. She strode out of engineering and headed for the nearest turbolift, looking up at Kova after she'd ordered the 'lift to the correct deck. Obviously, we have a serious issue aboard the station. I'd like your opinion on whether we could be looking at sabotage of some kind - hacking, a virus? The failures and damage seem to be in nearly every system, but most are only minor inconveniences.[ Lt. Kova sighed, feeling her integrity was being attacked. "I'm not yet convinced the station's systems have been hacked. The precautions I've suggested would not have... crumbled so easily." The lift arrived at its destination (luckily), and the pair stepped out onto the deck. "If I could reach some terminal where I can run a thorough diagnostic, perhaps I can reveal more," Kova asked. However, just as they arrived at Eastman's quarters, it appeared they weren't the only ones to have been summoned. Kova stopped in her tracks as her eyes fell on Harmon. Perhaps she'd been right about this sneaky Bajoran-Vulcan all along.

Harmon was greeted by the Captain's dogs nipping at his ankles. He wasn't exactly an animal person, so he was glad when she ordered them down. "Thank you, ma'am. Mr. Williams," he said curtly as he was welcomed. He still hadn't quite adjusted to the over familial and...pleasant meetings the Captain liked to hold at in her quarters now and then. Soon after the Chief arrived with Kova. Well this is going to be fun after all. She always looked at him strangely, with suspicion. Was he really that suspicious? "Good morning, Kova. Tag Ozu Saya , Kova Sh'qaleq , Matthew Harmon [ MCPO Ozu Saya - CO's Quarters] Saya made an unattractive strangled sound when Kova asked if she was blaming her for the malfunctions. She silently offered a prayer to the Prophets for patience, something she rarely did since she didn't really believe they were gods. Thankfully, Kova went on to give an actual assessment before Saya could put her foot in her mouth and make things worse. She noted the issue with the turbolift doors as the Andorian exited and made a note on her PADD. Commander, she responded to Harmon's greeting wearily. Saya didn't even have the energy to smile at the corgis antics at meeting a new person. She toed her boots off without comment and collapsed onto one of the couches. First, can you let Kova access the computer from one of your terminals? She needs to run some diagnostics.
Second, I'm forwarding you the maintenance request logs for the last week or so. The repair needs have been steadily increasing, with issues ranging from minor inconveniences to relatively serious problems like gravity plating malfunctioning and causing injuries. So far, they don't seem to have affected the major station systems, but I've asked Kova to check for signs of sabotage or hacking. There also doesn't seem to be any logical relationship between the systems that are affected.
I'm starting split double shifts for engineering from now until we resolve all of this. Alpha and Gamma, Beta and Delta on shared duty. I'll get you a revised roster as soon as I find the time to finish putting it together. Right now George is assigning repair teams from whomever is available. Saya looked between the others with her brow furrowed.

When he did, the big man nearly swore out loud. Avi Moz, what's the problem, he asked briskly. [ Avi Moz | Engineering ]Gods save her, this station was more trouble than it was worth. She should have left as soon as she'd got back. She gave Kova a flat stare. "I see you're still here." Although now Avi had no foot to stand on regarding Kova lap-dogging Starfleet. Avi didn't know if it was better or worse that her problems weren't the only ones plaguing the ship, but at least she had someone's attention. To the hulking liutenant Hugo, Avi explained. "My exhaust ventilation has been down all morning and I have a rig due in forty-eight hours. Then the mag locks on my door released on their own and the whole panel is banjaxed. I've got it up on jacks." --- [ Mott | Avi's workshop -> Wandering the station ]If asked, Mott would say he had every intention of obeying his mom's order to stay put, but an eleven-year-old left alone in a candy-shop of interesting gadgetry, drawers, dangerous tools, and crates - it was utterly impossible for him to hold to the agreement. Not three minutes after Avi left, Mott was off the stool and picking around the workshop. He picked up this and that, put his fingers on switches and dials, and opened cabinet doors. It was when he was looking down the barrel of an industrial bolt gun that he heard a funny noise. It was a scratching. He froze. Then he heard it again. It was coming from a panel on the wall, an electrical juncture. He set down the bolt gun and went to investigate. He pushed a crate over so he could reach then put his ear to the door. More scratching. Slowly, slowly, slowly Mott undid the latch and opened the door. Inside was a tiny furry animal with a long sniffly snout. Banging! Mott gasped but the noise spooked the creature and in its attempt to flee through a tiny hole, became tangled in some wires. Mott was quick. He reached in and picked it up. It squirmed like mad in his hands. Mott found a jar of nuts and bolts, dumped it on the workbench and dropped the creature inside. "Hello, who are you?" Mott tried, on the off-chance the being was sentient. The creature didn't answer. "Hmm." Mott weighed his options and opted to bring the little fellow straight to his mom who'd have to be pleased with the find. Mott ducked down under the door and began looking for his mom, wandering the station more or less aimlessly in that lackadaisical way unbothered children do. It was so different than anywhere he'd ever been, it was easy to get distracted. Nevermind that he became quickly turned around.

[Turbo lift - Unknown Location]
Without her comm device, it didn't leave Lea with many options to get out of this metallic pathetic excuse for a lift. Silently cursing why this had to happen now, especially as Aven got fed up of playing with his rattle and started crying after throwing it at Ari. So she began pushing the stroller back and forth in the hope he would stop, but it only made it worse after admonishing him and Ari deciding that she was bored and wanted a drink.
Luckily Lea always carried such things before resuming her pacing, whilst resisting the urge to kick the lift door.

|Outside Saya's office -> sickbay || lt (jr.grd.) Sorren|[...] He made his way through the station until he reached sickbay. He approached the door expecting them to open. He found out the hard way. Very hard, that they did not open. Another malfuction and his face smashed into the metal. Anger was right on the surface. Rubbing his smarting nose Sorren took a step back, then a step forward and the door opened. Annoyed he announced to the room in general, "I require medical assistance."Tag Kova Sh'qaleq Jovireh Velal Light tag to Ozu Saya |Sickbay || lt. cmdr. Sven Aune | lt. (jr. grd.) Sorren| Sven, meanwhile was flying as high as a kite. And this in turn reduced his inhibitions. He gazed up at the Riyo. He really was a cute. Sven licked his dry lips. His mouth was parched. "You know, doc. You really are handsome. Has anyone ever told you that. Because they should. I just did... Heh..."his brows furrowed. He hadn't had the best luck with relationships. Maybe this could be different. "Let's say you and I head over to the Blue Beta and get a drink. Lea's really nice. Maybe she'll open a space up for dancing. You like dancing? I like dancing. I think I'd like dancing with you..." he raised a hand to gently touch Riyo's face. Sorren, if he wasn't so busy pretending to be emotionally repressed would have had a look of horror on his face. But as it was, he kept it passive, except for that dammed eyebrow. The Vulcan spoke up. "I did not realize this was a place for. What is it you humans call it,? Oh yes hookups."Another strike against Bajorians. Tag Jovireh Velal [Lt. Paawin Riyo - Front Ear - Sickbay]Riyo raised an amused eyebrow at the compliment. It had been awhile since a patient had flirted with him. It was always flattering, regardless of his lack of returned interest. It was even amusing that he used the exact compliment that his girlfriend used the most often. Speaking of... He couldn't help but chuckle when Sven mentioned Lea in his invitation to the Blue Beta. Oh wouldn't that be a shock for... Well... Everyone. Another patient had entered and stated their need for medical assistance. As Riyo was currently already tending to a patient - or at least trying to, if only that anesthesia would hurry up and kick in - one of the other medical personnel approached Sorren and requested he take a seat on the nearest available biobed. That brief distraction was all it took for Riyo to not notice Sven's hand lifting, until he felt a callused touch on his cheek. Startled, he instinctively grabbed the man's wrist, giving him a smile as he gently lowered his arm back to his side. "You really should refrain from moving until I get those shoulders fixed." Any time now, anesthesia. "Unfortunately, Mr. Aune, I have a strict policy against personal involvement with patients. If you had said something before getting grievously injured, things might be different." No, they definitely wouldn't be. But the man was so high on pain relievers he likely wouldn't even remember this conversation by the time he left Sickbay, so Riyo saw no reason he couldn't let him down gently. The new patient made a snide comment behind him, but he grit his teeth and ignored it. His attention turned to the monitor above the bio bed. Vitals were slowly dropping. Finally. Hopefully this awkward conversation would be over soon, he could complete the surgery, and move on with his day.
Tag Sven Aune |Sick Bay || lt. cmdr. Sven Aune || lt. (jr.grd.) Sorren|Sven mumbled something about being unlovable, what ever that meant and laid back. He was feeling really drowsy, but at the same time irritated. "Of course. There is always policy. Policy policy policy... I think I'm done here." He went to stand up, lost his balance and his 310 pound frame hit the floor with a thud. Sorren ignored the blue shirt that came to help him. Obviously only those that held a M.D. was qualified to help him. He raised brow, raised even higher into his hair line and he made a comment when Sven hit the floor. "I can see that medical has gotten even worse here since Parsnips tenure. I will, of course, have to report all of this. And a lack of medical care for those that would come in to seek it. Where is all your staff?" Indeed, Sven's behavior would also make it into the report. Though Sorren wouldn't actively work to rid security of the man, he would use any situation and evidence against him. Just then there was a flickering of the lights, and they suddenly extinguished. Back up illumination kicked on for, about 3 seconds, before those too, went out leaving the three of them in total and abject darkness. Sorren scoffed. "It must have been that Andorian."

"Sir, if you'll just have a seat I can get those burns healed up and you can be on your way," she tried again, running a tricorder along his side that was visibly injured to make sure it wasn't worse than it looked.

[...] "Really? I'll make a note of that," the Andorian stated dryly. The Bolian really did like to be the center of attention. [...] Saya closed her eyes and took a long, slow breath. My apologies, Ms. Moz. As you can see, we're having quite a slew of reports from all over the station. I'm about to go speak to the captain about it. If you make an official report, we'll get a repair crew to your shop as soon as possible. Please excuse us. I need to make my report to Captain Eastman. [...] [ Lt. George Hugo - Engineering] George heard the shouting from the entrance, but it took a few moments to extricate himself from the console he was underneath to see what was going on. I've got it up on jacks." [Turbo lift - Unknown Location] Without her comm device, it didn't leave Lea with many options to get out of this metallic pathetic excuse for a lift. Luckily Lea always carried such things before resuming her pacing, whilst resisting the urge to kick the lift door. [ Lt. George Hugo - Engineering] George sighed heavily. Just what they needed, more major repairs. He snagged a PADD from a nearby console and logged in - his own had been set down somewhere and walked away. He logged the report, then eyes Avi speculatively. Look, if I prioritize your repairs, could I convince you to help out with some of the other repairs? An extra pair of hands that knows the right end of a hyperspanner would be welcome. I could authorize compensation. It wasn't his favorite idea ever, and Saya might be upset, but she'd acknowledge he was right, after thinking it over. As he waited for the Bolian's reply, a crewman approached cautiously and said, Sir? I've got a report that one of the turbolifts has just stopped dead and there are three life signs inside. The internal sensors are borking, so we can't tell exactly who.Is there a team available?Epsilon just came back.Send them to take care of it.The crewman hurried off, and almost immediately George's badge sounded. =/\= Acknowledged. We'll get someone on it right away. =/\= George looked back at Avi. You'd better make up your mind quick or I won't have anyone left, he said wryly. Tag Avi Moz and Jovireh Velal

[ T’Laara - T’Laara’s Quarters -> ?] Fortunately, T’Laara was able to get to her quarters and change into dry clothes without further incident. Now that that was taken care of, her mind was left to wander to other concerns. She frowned slightly, glancing from the neat display of books and crystals to the vines creeping along the walls from the plant in the corner. Equipment malfunctions happened even with the best maintained and newest technology. But the hydroponics systems, turbolift, and environmental controls in the corridor breaking all at the same time? Along with whatever Captain Eastman had been called away to? As far as she knew these were separate systems… but it was starting to feel like too much to be a coincidence. If there was something bigger going on, T’Laara would likely be one of the last to be informed. Which meant she had to do some investigating of her own. Walking back outside, she decided to go back to the park to wrap up what she’d been working on and examine the hydroponics systems more closely. This time the turbolift appeared right away, but stopped in the wrong place. She stepped out into a corridor that, as the doors closed behind her, she realized was unfamiliar. Not far away, she noticed a very young Bolian wandering alone. Since there was no one else around, T’Laara walked up to him. “Hello. Are you lost? The entire station appears to be malfunctioning today.”Tag Avi Moz (Mott)

Tricorders and dermal regenerators worked just fine in the dark, but if he'd rather suffer longer, who was she to argue? "Would you like me to give you something for the pain while you wait?" Fairly certain she already knew the answer, she decided she'd better at least ask rather than give the insufferable Vulcan something else to complain about. Riyo was grateful that Sven was distracted by the power failure enough to forget about trying to leave. However, when the man coughed and made a comment about iron supplements, it seemed the situation had just gone from worse to dire. "Can you take a deep breath in for me?" He asked, maintaining a cool and unworried voice despite his rising panic. Without being able to see to access any of the instruments, Riyo put a hand on Sven's chest to try and feel the lung expansion, or lack thereof, hoping that fall hadn't pushed the broken bones where they shouldn't be. The doors hissed open, and beams of light flashed through the room, followed by a voice saying they had a generator they'd hook up first. "Much appreciated. Biobed 1 takes priority, followed by the main lights." Sorren's injuries shouldn't need the monitors, so the sooner they got the lights on, the sooner they could get him out of here. His own shoulder was beginning to ache steadily, but there would be plenty of time for him to take care of that after the surgery was complete. It looked like he'd need to give the walking mountain another dose of the anesthesia, but he'd wait for that until the monitors were working again. He didn't want to risk the man's vitals dropping too far too quickly.

[Turbolift] Having succeeded in calming Aven, Leanna was half tempted to sit down and conserve some energy. Although after a few minutes and with Ari picking up her games PADD again, made the decision to do just that. With her back against the lift wall, she had no idea of long they had been in here or when rescue would come. It wasn't as if anyone knew where she was but definitely had a story to tell when she met back up with Riyo later. When she then heard noises and voices coming from above, relief washed through her as she got to her feet and answered them. " Yes we're all okay and I'm glad to hear your voice".

Tag Sven Aune Ozu Saya (repair team) |Sick bay || lt. cmdr. Sven Aune || lt. (jr. grd.) Sorren | Sven tried to take a deep breath but could not. Instead he weezed in pain and coughed up blood. A rib was clearly broken and had impaled his lung. The doctor could feel that he was going into tachycardia as the heart started to beat faster to push the now oxygen deprived blood. Sorren gave the nurse a Vulcan look. "I am a Vulcan, I do not feel pain." he said with his normal contempt. It would appear that the commander is not doing well." Kova was certaintly behind this. She didn't like working with them, and Sven pushed her into her position. She was trying to kill them. He would collect the necessary evidence to build a case and send he to some hell hole prison. Hopefully someplace hot. Andorians supposedly did not like the warmth. Tag Ozu SayaKova Sh'qaleq (mentioned) Jovireh Velal
