[ SCPO Melihn Ryah - Sickbay] Ryah helped the nurse get Lea to a biobed, then patted her shoulder comfortingly before heading over to stand in front of the security chief. Sir, you look like you still need to be horizontal, she remarked with a smile. Tactically, well, I don't know officially. I was doing an extra shift on the promenade when I stopped to help Lea. It seems like there's malfunctions happening just all over the station. You know those little problems we've been having over the last few weeks? I think it's gotten a lot worse. I was going to check in with you after I helped Lea to sickbay; didn't know you were already here. We might need to increase patrols since a lot of the businesses are having problems with their security shutters and other systems.---------- Tag Leanna Mazal, Jovireh Velal, and Sven Aune

[Outside of Engineering]
Tom listened to the kid as he mentioned his name. He stood up and responded “Mott Moz, it’s a cool name. We probably should give you a bad ass nickname to follow suit.” . He commented with a slight smile. “My name is Jett. Thomas Jett” He said to the kid so at least it would know his name.
As the mention of Pizza came on, the child appeared to have lost all interest in the jar. Jett would have taken the Jar and then mentioned to Mott “Let’s return this and then go get Pizza. After you eat this I promise your life will never be the same” . Tom said with a smile as he tried to enter Engineering for a second.
He looked inside it as he observed a strange creature. Tom closed his eyes for a second and wondered if he has ever seen it before. “Talk about Déjà vu” .
He then looked at Mott and continued "Well, we can't bring him with us. He might eat all the Pizza! Trust me you want to eat as much as this as possible. Let's just leave him here"

[ Mott Moz | Promenade ]Surprisingly, Mott didn't put up any fight at all leaving the fuzz-thing and its jar in Engineering. Mott followed Jett, a little ahead of him even, as they made their way through the station to the Promenade. Mott spent most of it talking about all the kinds of foods he tried and what quantity he could consume them. "Bolian's digestive system is the hardest of any species," he claimed, not completely incorrectly. "Our metabolism too. We can eat near anything and not even boot once. Same with drinking or medicines. It's evolution." But soon they arrived at a dimly lit bar. It smelled a mixture of strong drinks and brick ovens. The only seating were barstools or high-top tables. The lighting was all dusty lamps with green glass. No one had bothered to hang a sign. It was middle of the station's official daytime, however that was decided, and so there weren't very many patrons. Mott went up to the bar as if he owned the place and sat on his knees on the stool so he could lean over the counter. There were dozens of glimmering bottles in front of a marbled mirror, but nothing that looked like it'd be called a pizza. "What kind of food is a pizza? Sounds Rigelian. I've had Rigelian before. Pretty good. So, are you like a pirate, then? The engineers didn't seem happy to see you. Jett. Thomas Jett. Taw-muss Djet-tuh." Mott seemed to make himself at home no matter what space he was in. He'd found it worked better than looking like a nervous, lost kid. If you acted like you belonged, changes were no one would question it. It wasn't far off typical Bolian culture, but it had a little more to do with how he was raised in Celladore, to largely do whatever he wanted. Jett had found out first-hand what you got if you told him 'no'. Thomas Jett

[ T’Laara - Ops -> Science Lab] T’Laara nodded to Captain Eastman, and with her new friend Mabel following, left Ops. A few of the furry creatures ran out the door behind them, but they didn’t have time to chase them down. “They are, to use a human expression.. sort of cute.” she remarked as they entered a turbolift. As soon as they arrived at the science lab, she set the rodent down in a box and retrieved a handheld tricorder. She figured it would have the best chance of accurate results since it wasn’t wired into any of the stations systems. The creature looked up, twitching its whiskers, as T’Laara pointed the tricorder at it and ran a detailed scan of its bio-signs. She then moved behind a computer console to download the readings. “Computer, search the zoological database for matching life signs and display identifying information.” As the results appeared on the screen, she stood to the side so Mabel could see as well. Searching…
Life sign identified… 97% Match Common Name: Caldonian Shrew Native Habitat: Caldonia, Northern HemisphereNow, at least, they had a place to start. Hopefully more detailed research would reveal something that could help explain how and why they came to infest the station. “Computer, display all scientific texts with reference to Caldonian Shrew.”Searching…T’Laara looked to Mabel to see if she had any thoughts, then started sifting through the extensive information that came up. [LCDR Matthew Harmon - Ops]
A varied cast of characters soon arrived in Ops following Harmon's....discovery. Luckily Mabel had managed to catch one of the little rodent bastards so they didn't have to further embarrass themselves trying to herd one into captivity. "Of course he did," Harmon said gruffly to Jenkins as he reported about Jett. He glared at Kova as she entered the room, and then dusted off and tugged downwards on his uniform to adjust it before responding to the Capitan. "A lot of these little fu....uh, furry bastards," he said cutting himself off before getting too profane, "And that Thomas Jett has docked with us twice in this period. He's the only one we've classified as red. Perhaps he...uh I mean his ship, picked up something unpleasant in some squalid, seedy port." [Capt. Judith Eastman(-Williams) & PO3 Roland L. Jenkins - Ops -> Commanding Officer's Office]"Oy vey iz mir," Judy lamented. Of course Jett was involved in this, as he was in all things questionable. "I think it's time to meet with Mr. Jett. He's just the kind of schmuck to do this," she assessed. "Let's head to my office."Before heading out, she turned to Saya. "Chief, you're in charge. Make sure our business owners and the major departments know about anything that's going to affect them."With that, she headed down the hall to her office, motioning for Harmon and Jenkins to come with. =A= "Eastman to Aune. Pick up Thomas Jett and bring him to my office. I'll have more detailed instructions sent to you in writing," =A= the Captain ordered her Chief of Security. "Jenkins, I need you to take this down and send it to Commander Aune.""Yes, Captain."He began to type on his PADD. "Our current malfunctions are caused by a rodent infestation, which we believe entered the station from Thomas Jett's ship, the Falcon. I want Jett brought into my office for questioning - not an arrest, but don't be too sweet, considering he is a traitor - and then you should go to whatever docking bay he stopped in when he visited 4 weeks ago, and look for evidence, but don't search his ship," she dictated. To search the Falcon, of course, they needed a warrant. From the Office of Captain Judy Eastman-Williams, PhD
Malfunctions caused by rodents, maybe brought by Jett's ship 4 weeks ago. Bring Jett to CO's office to question, don't be nice. Go to docking bay, investigate his last visit for evidence, but don't search ship.Jenkins hit "send", and the message went off. Judy's jacket, left behind in Ops, proved a delightful hiding place for the rodents.

[Lift to Sickbay - Front Ear] When the lift stopped on the right deck, there was definitely some relief released as Lea wasn't sure if she could of coped, if the lift had gotten stuck again. Although the broken ankle certainly topped what she was now calling the day from hell. However as they approached Sickbay, it wasn't difficult to ignore the half opened doors or Sorren as the Vulcan security passed them. Then again she wasn't exactly in the mood for pleasantries even with the pain reliever and couldn't wait to sit down and take the weight off of it. There was one positive in all of this as she sensed Riyo, but who had instantly called out her name before she caught discomfort and pain. She hoped that he was okay and concern for her Imzadi outweighed her own. She did, however reached out to him via their link as Ryah asked for help. " I'm okay Imzadi, it's just a broken ankle, you'll see me momentarily". Then as a Nurse approached and made a suggestion as to what she needed Lea to do after opening the doors a little more. The Betazoid nodded and grimaced slightly as she followed Ryah and squeezed herself through. Immediately looking for Riyo and smiled reassuringly at him.
Tag Jovireh Velal Ozu Saya [Lt. Paawin Riyo - Front Ear - Sickbay]When he heard Sven asking a far more intelligible question, Riyo glanced back up at the monitor to see his heart rate had increased. While the nurse was busy gathering the instruments needed to treat his own arm, the doctor moved over to where Sven would be able to see him as he spoke. "You're in Sickbay. Had a nasty accident due to a malfunction in the gravity plating, but I've repaired all the damage. I'd like you to remain here for a little longer just to make sure there aren't any surprises, and you'll need to avoid heavy lifting for a few days." The nurse cleared his throat behind him, and Riyo sighed. "Get some more rest, Commander. You'll be out of here before you know it."Relucantly sitting back down on the other biobed, he winced as the other man lifted his arm to have access to the full injury. Focusing on the minor commotion at the other side of the room, he breathed a sigh of relief when they finally got the doors open and Sorren left. At least that was one less headache for him to deal with that day... He cringed sharply as the nurse started pressing on the swollen areas of his arm, shoulder and back before pressing a hypospray in strategic locations. Riyo hated being a patient... The other nurse breathed a sigh of relief and relaxed against the wall momentarily when Sorren disappeared into the corridor. That had gone better than it could have, at least. When the other woman asked what Sven was doing in Sickbay, she glanced over her shoulder before answering. "He was injured by one of the malfunctions, but the doctor took care of him already. He'll probably be discharged soon." She could only hope there weren't any more malfunctions in Sickbay. Losing power at the worst possible moment had been bad enough. Thankfully the engineering team were quick and left the generator for them if it happened again.
Tag Sven Aune [ SCPO Melihn Ryah - Sickbay] Thankfully, they encountered no difficulties reaching sickbay. The turbolift deposited them on the correct deck, and Ryah thought about what a disaster it would have been if it had gotten stuck. She gave Lea a speculative glance, wondering if she'd already had some adventure with a 'lift. As they slowly approached the doors, Ryah could see that they were standing partially open, in fact, just barely open. Hopefully, it would be enough space for both her and Lea to fit through. A Vulcan was striding down the corridor in the opposite direction. Leading Lea, Ryah turned sideways and slipped halfway through the opening of the doors. Hello? she called, noting several people hovering around. I've got someone injured here. I could use a hand.---------- Tag Leanna Mazal , Jovireh Velal and Sven Aune [Lt. Paawin Riyo - Front Ear - Sickbay]Riyo looked up as another person appeared in the door, and his heart jumped into his throat when he felt a familiar presence nearby. "Lea!" Before he could jump off the bed again, however, the nurse who was attempting to treat his injury grabbed his shoulder to restrain him. "Ow!" he cursed loudly, and the nurse immediately let go, realizing he had accidentally grabbed the wrong shoulder. "I'm sorry sir, but let us take care of it!" He was clearly getting frustrated with having a doctor as a patient in the middle of a station-wide emergency, and Riyo couldn't blame him. He sat on the biobed with his jaw clenched, eyes locked on the door, not daring to move lest the nurse decide to sedate him. What was wrong with Lea? The nurse that had treated Sorren moved back over to the door, and managed to pry it open a little further, but not much. Glancing past the SCPO she saw Leanna with her ankle in an emergency splint. "If you can get through the door between the two of us, I can help you to a bed," she told the Betazoid. It might hurt to take the couple steps through the opening, but at least she was upright, and in the right place.

You look like your arm got stuck is a hyperbaric chamber." He tried to stand and was immediately greeted with a wave of dizziness and nausa. He sat down hard upon the bio bed. He motioned to the nurse to come near. "Tell me exactly what happened to me, and the injury." he then looked at the backup power battery. "And what's going on.""Chief Rayh." he called to her. "What is the tactical situation for the station?" he then looked to Alice. "Crewmen Duff, get that door open all the way." She nodded and went to look at the door. It really wasn't her area. But security had ways of overriding doors. He the looked to Edgar, who was holding the twisted wreck of his glasses. he sniffed. "Crewman Ragde?"The piefaced kid looked up. "Oh, I'm sorry sir. It's just. These glasses belonged to my father. And now..."Sven observed them. They weren't broken in the traditional sense. They looked as if the individual components were converged into a large blob. "How did that happen?" Sven asked. "The transporter did it.""That sounds pretty serious. I hope you informed engineering. It wouldn't do well to have anyone splinched."Edgar shook his head. "They are aware.""Miss Lea, are you okay?" the security officer addressed the proprietor of the Blue Beta. With the help of the nurse and the security, she made it inside, and he returned her small smile as they helped her to a biobed. His gaze shifted to Sven as the man sat up, asking for information. So it seemed he didn't remember much about the events prior to the surgery... A small favor. "Station-wide malfunctions across all systems. You were victimized by the grav plating in the gym. Multiple broke bones in your torso, he both shoulders dislocated and torn. Once the pain meds kicked in, you decided to leave." He paused and looked down at his shoulder. At least the swelling was going down a bit. "I was stupid enough to try and stop you. You fell, and some of the bone fragments entered your lung." He decided not to mention the loss of power just yet. "But clearly we got you all fixed up. Your vital signs have remained stable, so as long as you feel up to returning to duty, I have no reason to stop you."Which was a god thing, as the Commander was summoned over the com by Captain Eastman. Did this mean the nightmare was almost over? Riyo turned his attention back to Lea, where the nurse had already got to work removing the splint and examining the injury. "Now what happened?"

[Sickbay - Front Ear] Now that she had made it to a bio bed with help, Lea had never felt relief like it and smiled as Ryah gave her a comforting pat to the shoulder. Once the security officer had left to speak with Sven who had also asked about what had happened to him. Lea took the opportunity to make herself comfortable and leave them to their conversation as she felt Riyo's relief at her earlier reassurance. Although that didn't stop her from worrying about his own injury as he answered Sven and told him he could return to duty as Judy contacted him. Again she wasn't too focused on that as the Nurse began to remove the splint and examine her ankle. When Riyo then shifted his attention to her and asked what happened. Lea knew she couldn't hide anything not that she wanted too. " I was on my way to the kitchen when I heard a noise and quickly realised that both ice machines were malfunctioning and spewing ice cubes all over the floor. I went to try and stop them but slipped and fell awkwardly on my ankle. I also ended up with several cuts but Ryah was able to treat those with a dermal regenerator".

The sound of the hail (apparently the flight controllers' headsets were glitching) cut through the Captain's remarks mid-sentence. =A= "Float, you are clear to enter... uh... the main shuttlebay, manual approach," =A= the controller ordered, playing it safe. The mic on the headset, it seemed, still worked. Judy paused for a moment, recognizing the voice on the other end. With engineering stretched so thin, who better to send to work with T'Laara than a fresh one? "That's K'Dex. Welcome him back, and have him report to Henriksen in the lab," she said, making a point of recognizing the old-new crewmember's voice, and of courtesy. =A= "Captain Eastman wants you to come to the science lab as soon as you dock, and report to Lieutenant Henriksen for duty. Welcome back," =A= the controller added. "As I was saying, Mr. Harmon, what have you found?"Mabel walked swiftly to join T'Laara en route to the lab. Jenkins stood back beside the Captain, having set her jacket on the Captain's chair.
Tag Shavan Th'zhaar , Kova Sh'qaleq , Ozu Saya , Matthew Harmon , and K'Dex [USS Float - Cockpit] Manual Approach?Manual... Approach... Hmm. K'Dex's piloting skills weren't the greatest. They weren't great. They were okay. Officially, it said "Acceptable". So, K'Dex piloted it in, and even with every guidance system known to man for a nice easy landing, he still managed to land it just slightly cockeyed. Which was fine. Apparently there were larger problems to occupy the flight control officers to begin with. [Front Ear - Science Lab] After a few minutes of rather arduous climbing, having been warned away from the turbo lifts and deciding halfway down to make a pit stop to drop off his things at main engineering in his locker, only to quickly backpedal away from the chaos that greeted him there, he arrived on Deck 26. After multiple attempts of bugging the computer for an accurate reading, he found the science lab Ensign Henriksen was in, and entered, slightly worn from the exertions to get there. "Ensign K'Dex, reporting in. I've gathered scattered comments, but what's actually going on?" He said as he approached the scanner holding the tiny creature.

[USS Float - Cockpit] Manual Approach?Manual... Approach... [NPC - Lt. j.g. Mabel Henriksen - Ops -> Science Lab]"They really are," Mabel agreed on the animals' adorableness. Upon arrival in the lab, it became evident what they are, and they got reinforcements in the form of an engineer "Ensign, we have an infestation of these rodents, Caldonian shrews. They're causing damage to many of our systems," she explained. She left it to T'Laara and K'Dex to work on solutions, while she turned to address a different facet of the infestation. =A= "Henriksen to Sickbay, we have a rodent infestation. {Quoted Posts} [Runabout USS Float - Cockpit] =/\= "Runabout USS Float to USS Front Ear, requesting permission to dock."=/\= He said formally. His eyes squinted briefly as he looked at the station, and noticed the exterior lights out in an irregular pattern. He wondered if they were doing maintenance on one of hte lines, but from what he'd last remembered, none of those lights were even on the same EPS partitions. His ear flicked with curiosity. [Capt. Judith Eastman(-Williams) & Staff - Ops]Yes, this was exactly what it looked like. They had a large infestation of unclear origin, but self-evident nature. Judy regretted donning one of her favored skirts, instead of the more common pants, as one rodent began to climb up her calf. She kicked it off promptly, but it was unpleasant, and brought up the real risk of a bite. Well, if she wanted to keep her gams free of infection, the best way to do so was to do her job - of making sure all the needed jobs got done. "Ms. T'Laara, take Mabel with you, and we'll send an engineer your way soon," she issued the first directive. "Ms. Sh'qaleq, Chief, why don't you work from up here on a damage-mitigation strategy? We need to coordinate on keeping the lights on, literally and metaphorically speaking.""Mr. Harmon..."The sound of the hail (apparently the flight controllers' headsets were glitching) cut through the Captain's remarks mid-sentence.
Perhaps he...uh I mean his ship, picked up something unpleasant in some squalid, seedy port." [ MCPO Ozu Saya - Ops] Saya was pleased to hear K'Dex's voice, though she couldn't spare more than a moment to hope that he would be able to get aboard safely with all of the problems on the station. She headed to the engineering station and gestured Kova to join her. I'll get you set up on a station in a moment. I'd like your assistance in checking the status of each primary system, especially what other systems they've been rerouted through. Then we're going to shut down every secondary and tertiary system we can without compromising primary systems. Give me one moment, Saya added, tapping her combadge. =/\= Ozu to Hugo. Kova Sh'qaleq is going to work with me from Ops. We've got to start shutting down unnecessary systems. Pull all repair teams off of any work except primary systems and focus on getting them back to minimal efficiency so that we can undo all of the rerouting that was done automatically by the computer. Send some people to Ops to start catching these things. If you can get a replicator working, maybe replicate some nets? she said doubtfully. Nets? George asked incredulously. Saya could almost hear his eyebrow raising. If you have a better idea, I'd be gratified to hear it, she replied archly. =/\= There was an inarticulate grumble from the other end of the comm before it disconnected. [...] [Capt.
[ Kova Sh'qaleq - Ops, Front Ear Station ] The parting comments made by Mabel and the Vulcan, T'Laara would have been laughable under different circumstances, but certainly not these. Kova had been assigned... not asked, to work with Chief Ozu, whom had a few decrees of her own to give to the Andorian of how they were supposed to proceed. There was no real objection made by Kova. The sight of Harmon swallowing her swears in front of the Captain seemed to suffice as compensation for the time being. Pretty soon, they were off to confront Captain Thomas Jett, essentially accusing him of being responsible from what Kova could tell. It seemed to be a waste of time, since she doubted how to actually remove the problem. And Kova was convinced that they were probably looking for a more humane solution as opposed to a practical one. Saya's orders were still at the forefront of Kova's mind. She didn't object when the Vulcan said that she'd get her into a terminal. She listened as her counterpart, Hugo, was essentially reduced to duties of capturing these rodents with nets. At least it was a job that hadn't been thrown her way. If anything, it seemed to be the sort of task to keep that Vulcan blowhard, Sorren, busy. Kova began to review the systems, her eyes attempting to make heads and tails of the chaos that had been caused by these furry little monsters. "Do we even know why these things are where they are?" the Andorian asked. She continued her survey of the systems as she phrased the question aloud. "Why are they nibbling at the relays instead of hording around any of the food supply?" The question she posed seemed to fade from conscious thought as something on her screen caught her attention. "It's probably for the best to keep power running through the holodeck's network. Some of the main power relays have been compromised. It looks like power was re-routed through the holodecks to keep power distribution flowing."There were a few warning chimes sounding from her terminal. A frustrated groan left Kova's lips. "While the holodeck is one of the more robust systems, it won't be able to support that distribution indefinitely. If that network collapses, about a third of the station could lose life support."

"That was an understatement," he explained. "He asked me on a date to the Blue Beta, and tried to leave when I told him I don't get involved with patients." He hoped the story would at least take her mind off the pain as the nurse worked on her ankle. [Sickbay - Front Ear] " Yes I was definitely lucky that I didn't" Lea admitted, knowing that she could of received a more serious injury if she had fallen elsewhere. She was also aware of Riyo's frustration at not being able to be closer, but just having him nearby was comforting, especially after the day that she'd had so far. Although with them both being injured they could eventually remember this moment and laugh about it. However when Sven spoke to Riyo and thanked him before leaving with the others. Lea was curious when Riyo looked to her with an amused grin and explained what had happened. Lea knew that he was trying to take her mind off the pain and being treated and she found the whole thing highly amusing. " I can't say that I blame him for asking you out and let me guess, that's how you ended up with a busted shoulder?".Lea was trying her best not to laugh or grin or show that she was teasing him, but Riyo knew what she was like. When he then got the call from Mabel, it appeared that her time with Riyo was about to be cut short again. She knew that she was being irrational and that he had a job to do but she just had to shake it off and get back to the bar when she was able as this rodent infestation was beginning to make a lot of sense.

[Outside of Engineering] Tom smiled at the kid as they wondered. He was ready to take the child to a hole in the wall bar which made the best pizza on the Station. The place was shady and had some rough people but for some reason, they know how to make a greasy down to good pizza. As he mentioned about his digestive system, Tom could not help but nod. The food was supposed to be great. “Behold your life is about to change” . [Promenade – Whole in the Wall Bar] They approached the dim lightroom. The floor was kept decent. But it was ok. He observed the child as he sat at the Bar. He struggled a little bit and observed him in the bar stool. Jett took his seat next to him and listened to the question. He wanted to know what Pizza was. “Nah, not Rigellian. It’s ancient Earth Food. It’s pretty much dough, Tomato sauce, tons of cheese, and maybe some meats”. Tom wondered which one he would order but since this is the first time he would try and keep it simple. “Barkeep, give me a Synthale, double pepperoni pizza and some Coke” Tom would wait for a second as the person took their order and handed their drinks. “Rule No. 1 about Pizza. Never eat Healthily. Rule No. 2 Always have holodeck games afterward “ Some said as he told the kid some fun rules. He grabbed his Synthale glass and said “Cheers!” As soon as he finished he observed a Security Officer. Tom knew that whole in the wall bars is not exactly the place for them to hang out. He wanted something. Security must have seen what happened . Tom though. Thinking that the kid was the culprit. Tom turned around from his chair and stood up. He tried to shield the child from security. He observed and thought of his options. This security officer looks big. Even big enough that he might be nervous stalling time for the kid. As the security officer approached he mentioned his name. Tom was a little surprised that security was after him. As they wanted him to come with him. “It looks like we are getting the Pizza to go kid.” . He told Mott. He nodded at the Barkeep and tossed some money at the bar table. “Ok…lead the way. Where too?” . Tom said as he wanted to know where he was going. He was not putting a fight or anything as there was a chance the Bolian kid might get hurt in any struggle. Tag Avi Moz Sven Aune

[ Mott Moz | Bar, Promenade ]The excitement was building. The pizza sounded delicious, cheese was now a player, and there were rules. Mott fully appreciated a bit of ritual around eating. It brought people together. But the fun was over. Mott knew security when he saw it but he'd never seen a person of any species as big as this one, not even a Klingon. He wasn't alone either - there were two of them and Mott saw the phasers at their hips. Mott knew better than to run: first, they weren't here for him, and second he didn't think he'd be able to slip past them. So instead, as quietly as he could, Mott slid down from the stool to all but disappear behind Thomas Jett. Maybe Thomas Jett was a pirate, a real one. That would certainly be a pity for him to get nicked. Not least because now Mott might not get to try pizza. "Careful," he whispered. "Don't get zapped, ochi."At least Jett didn't seem worried - like this had happened to him either zero times or a thousand times. Thomas Jett, Sven Aune
