{Quoted Posts} [SCPO Melihn Ryah - Blue Beta] Ryah felt like her skin was literally crawling as the conversation went on. The selling of intelligent beings for, well, for any reason, was disgusting. She was going to have to spend some extra time in the sonic shower to feel clean after this. Maybe a scalding water shower, too. She headed for the bar, smiling thinly at Jack as she approached. Ryah wasn't sure how much the staff of the bar had been told, but knew he'd probably recognize that she wasn't there in her usual capacity as security or as a patron on her own. ' Your best vintage of bloodwine for the table there,' she said pointing at the Klingons and raising her voice so that they'd be able to hear that she'd followed her instructions. Under her breath she added, ' Can we add a tranquilizer to it?' Jack grinned and reached under the bar, pulling out a couple of bottles and setting them on a tray along with the obligatory metal cups. Ryah balanced the heavy tray carefully and started back to the table. [Durwot, son of Sh’root - Blue Beta] “She is,” he agreed when Tusk noticed her ferocity. “I will keep an eye out for any merchandise that strikes my fancy,” he responded as Bolt spoke. When S’Riia suggested helping with the bloodwine said nothing, instead waving his hand to signal for her to join Ryah. Soon Ryah began to return with the bloodwine. “So, shall we get down to business?” He asked as he took a cup of bloodwine. [NPCs - Capt. Klopar, daughter of Krak, Wetrogh "The Tusk", son of Grerohk, & Dril "Bolt", son of Gak - Blue Beta Bar & Grill]"There we go!" Klopar thundered when Ryah returned with the bloodwine. "Took your precious time."She didn't want to be mean, but it was simply necessary for the role to be a complete asshole. The Tusk remained focused on Durwot, accepting that a sentient pet was bound not to be quite as succulent as a good targ. "Yes, son of Sh'root, business. What kind of workforce is suited to your business?" he asked, unfamiliar with agriculture. Bolt, meanwhile, leaned in towards the servants, a bit bored. "Are they always like this?" he whispered. [NPC - PO1 S'Riia - Blue Beta Bar, Promenade, Front Ear Station ] The dismissive wave from Durwot was as welcome as it was annoying. It was enough for S'Riia to gain a brief reprieve from their vicinity. And a brief one it was as Ryah was already returning with the bloodwine. The half-Caitian went on to help serve the Klingons their beverages, and then moved aside to allow them to conduct their business. It would at least bring them one step closer to putting an end to all of this. However, what she hadn't expected was for the one called Bolt to move himself to the outskirts of the dialogue as well, as he seemed to approach both S'Riia and Ryah. He then spoke, asking if they were always like this. S'Riia quickly deduced that he was referring to Klopar and Durwot. It made the woman wonder if he detected something that he disapproved of. "You presume we would speak ill of our masters?" she uttered quietly. Her tone even, hoping to neither confirm or deny whatever suspicions Bolt may have.

Tag: Judith Eastman, Ozu Saya, Isaiah Quinn[NPC - PO1 S'Riia - Blue Beta Bar, Promenade, Front Ear Station ] The word beast was thrown about so casually among the Klingons. However, from Tusk's response, it seemed he approved of S'Riia's defiance. Not necessarily the act of defying, but perhaps the venom in her actions. The half-Caitian thought it best to play into it. As he reached out to touch her fur, she allowed it, but only for a moment before jerking her head away from his touch, and carefully shifting behind Durwot. Perhaps a taste of obedience... or loyalty would make them think even more of the son of Sh'root. Her eyes glared back at Tusk, but shifted to Bolt as he spoke about the labor market on Cait. S'Riia's eyes narrowed with a hint of contempt, but only briefly. She continued to watch the two Klingons, before asking. "Shall I assist her with the bloodwine, Master?" S'Riia asked. Perhaps by removing herself as the topic of conversation, their discussion would shift to the topic at hand. [Durwot, son of Sh'root - Blue Beta] Durwot had good hearing, and he noticed S'Riia talking to Bolt, though he couldn't quite tell what exactly was going on. Still, no point interrupting. It was easy to forget by S'Riia was on their side for this and perhaps she would be able to get some scraps of information from Bolt that he couldn't. Servants usually prefered to talk to servants. "We need strong, fit specimen's with plenty of stamina," he explained, "At Sh'root Farms we perform most functions manually still, it makes the product taste far better than heavily automated farms." He took another mouthful of the bloodwine as he awaited a response.

[NPC - Fatax - Brig]Fatax rolled his eyes, as he gently set his PADD under his pillow. It was trashy fiction, but Moz could think otherwise. "I'm a legitimate businessman, wrongly accused. What would ever make you think otherwise?" he protested. "And as a legitimate businessman, I know things. Rule of Acquisition #74[fn]Knowledge equals profit[/fn]."Moz could come to her own conclusions, in between the hinting and denials. [ Avi Moz | Brig ]"Legitimate - of course you are," Avi said with faux sincerity. Avi had heard pieces of that story but the second someone started talking about accounts, transactions, or interstellar banking, her eyes glazed over. "So let me get this straight," Avi said closing her eyes like this was a bedtime story. "The Klingons who arrived today - including Jurgha - are smugglers. But, they're so sneaky, they're having a meeting with Eastman right now, despite trashing the Beta? Or was security taking them all to a special brig?" Avi adjusted a pillow under her lower back. [ Jurgha, daughter of Khar - Storage Room, Blue Beta] Having no argument for the moment, Jurgha pulled up a portable computer screen of her own, to do some preliminary investigating. She glanced up, and scoffed, as those that they were supposed to be observing partook of the bloodwine and gave no new information. Then her attention was caught as the search she had run began to turn up some results. The name Dril, son of Gak was one that did indeed come up in the Empire’s customs records. “Could be a fake nose. Just like your half Bajoran.” As much as she would rather be somewhere else, there was a job to do. Despite any evidence to the contrary that the Federationers might perceive, she did take it seriously on occasion. Jurgha typed into the PADD, making some corrections and further searches. “Dril has been reported as a suspect in smuggling operations out of Qo’nos multiple times. He was arrested in 2377, but again, had to be let go over lack of evidence. If we can prove that is indeed ‘Bolt’ and connect him to crimes on Cait as well, it could be enough to reopen the case.” And then Jurgha could reopen the case of bloodwine and be done with it. Too many had to be let go over "lack of evidence". These two would not be anymore, if she had anything to do with it. [Capt. Judith Eastman(-Williams) - Storage Room, Blue Beta]Judy looked over at Jurgha, rather thoughtfully. "I think it's more than just a rubber nose. Looks more like plastic surgery to me, a nose job," she noted. She'd thought of the same, at a younger phase of her life, but had since come to terms with the fact that some drinking glasses were just too small for her. "Can you access medical records from the empire, for nose jobs?" she asked. It wasn't a sure thing, but it was worth trying.

Glasses?"Oh, no, there was something to this, and it wasn't Fatax forgetting who the Captain was. Judy Eastman wasn't the type to be corrupt - the hyoo-mon had far more wealth than she deserved, or than Fatax himself had. "Who is this Jurgha of yours? What do you know her from?"He was frightened, clearly.

[ Jurgha, daughter of Khar - Storage Room, Blue Beta] Jurgha grunted agreement, then picked her own nose as she looked down at the screen. Medical records were normally outside of her jurisdiction and expertise, but there were always exceptions. It would just take a little more than the press of a button. “Using your facial recognition results, combined with both our records, we can determine roughly when and where he had this “nose job”. I’ll then request access to the corresponding medical files to prove it.” She flicked something green off the end of her finger, then hunched over the keyboard to get to work on that. Still, the thought of some of her people being used in such a fashion didn't sit well with S'Riia. Still, for the sake of the mission, she held her emotions in check. Luckily, Bolt seemed to be serving as a bit of a distraction himself. Ryah had responded to his counter by pointing out that intensity tended to be a general Klingon trait. "You say you don't speak ill, but your words sound... hollow," S'Riia uttered, as if she were losing interest in this particular conversation, curios if Bolt would persist.

[Blue Beta - Promenade] As things progressed with the Klingons and the two disguised Starfleet Officers. Leanna knew better than trying to listen too much to what was being said or observe them in any way that might draw the wrong kind of attention. However it wasn't so easy to block the emotions that were coming off of the group, despite her best efforts. Until this was over and the powers that be, got what they needed to hopefully put an end to this. Lea decided to let her abilities run in the background as opposed to raising her mental shields completely. Hoping to pick up on something that might prove useful as Riyo smiled and answered her. Grinning slightly as she reached for her drink again, Lea looked at Riyo as she spoke. " It definitely does and a nice way to break up the rest of our day, before we decide what to do later".There was a hint of teasing in her response as she was determined not to let the current situation detract from being herself and having this time with Riyo.
Tag Jovireh Velal [Lt. Paawin Riyo - Front Ear - Blue Beta]"That is an excellent point," he replied, with a wink as he took another sip, then turned back to his food. The conversation between the Klingons seemed to going well... At least there was no shouting or more chairs being thrown. Yet. Riyo allowed himself to relax a little, determined to enjoy this afternoon with Lea regardless of what else what going on around them.

Judith Eastman (Fatax), FYI Jovireh Velal (Brad) [ Jurgha, daughter of Khar - Storage Room, Blue Beta] Having no argument for the moment, Jurgha pulled up a portable computer screen of her own, to do some preliminary investigating. [ Avi Moz | Brig ]"Legitimate - of course you are," Avi said with faux sincerity. [NPC - Fatax - Brig]Fatax's eyes popped. This was incredible, in a horrible, horrible way. "They're meeting with EASTMAN?" he shrieked. "Judy Eastman? The expired fee-male? Glasses?"Oh, no, there was something to this, and it wasn't Fatax forgetting who the Captain was. Judy Eastman wasn't the type to be corrupt - the hyoo-mon had far more wealth than she deserved, or than Fatax himself had. "Who is this Jurgha of yours? What do you know her from?"He was frightened, clearly.
Tag Avi Moz [Ens. Brad Stout - Front Ear - Brig]So the Klingons had a meeting with the Captain? That likely meant Command was already aware of any smuggling they were doing, or it was all a rumor as Avi seemed to believe. Darn. Finishing browsing the reports, Stout returned the PADD to the control console and walked towards the adjoining section where the personal lockers were to retrieve his water bottle. He really should have known Fatax wouldn't have any actual information...

[Blue Beta - Promenade] " I thought you would think so" Lea responded with a hint of a grin. Liking how they could continue their usual brand of conversation, despite what was going on in the bar. At least things appeared to be going well and the lack of destroyed bar furniture was also a good sign. Although Lea wasn't going to get complacent as she returned her focus to what was left of her lunch. " You know... since we're making the most of today, I think we should also order dessert. Maybe that new cheesecake or the sundae for two?".With the sting operation still in play, Lea wasn't about to leave just yet and they may as well enjoy this, whilst they could.

[Durwot, son of Sh'root - Blue Beta] Durwot let out a hearty laugh as The Tusk mentioned Klingons. "Klingong's would be perfect if they weren't so stubborn and headstrong. You can't subjugate a warrior race like us!" When Caitians and Kurjarians were mentioned Durwot knew he was starting to gain the trust, or at least convince The Tusk he was genuine. They were close to saying something incriminating. "I could do with an upgrade for my Caitian," he said glaring at S'Riia who was still seeming to conspire with Bolt. "And I have heard good things about Kurjarians. Very rare though," he glanced around to make sure no one else in the bar was listening or watching. "Do you have a supplier?"

[ SCPO Melihn Ryah - Blue Beta] Ryah was trying to listen to what Klopar, Durwot and 'The Tusk' were saying and wondered if Bolt had been told to distract her and S'Riia intentionally. Caitians, Kurjarians, but not enough to make any sort of move against the Klingons. With a sigh, she dropped her arms again and responded, ' I rather thought intensity was a general trait of Klingons. Ryah only spared the fellow 'servant' a brief glance, trying to keep her attention on the table. [NPC - PO1 S'Riia - Blue Beta Bar, Promenade, Front Ear Station ] The mention of Caitians hadn't gone unnoticed, and neither had the mention of Kurjarians.

Klopar, daughter of Krak, Wetrogh "The Tusk", son of Grerohk, & Dril "Bolt", son of Gak - Blue Beta Bar & Grill]A sly smile came over "the Tusk's" weathered face. "I don't much care for labels, like 'supplier,' but I do have access to a Kurjarian workforce seeking employment," he answered subtly. "But first, your associate, Klopar, said you could help me with my Ferengi problem."
Klopar looked at Durwot. If he could just get "the Tusk" to say that more directly, they could nail him for conspiracy. "Bolt" was a little more dejected, his overtures falling a bit short. "I still don't know why the Ferengi matters so much to him," he whispered, switching to another angle of gossip.

[Capt. Judith Eastman(-Williams) - Storage Room, Blue Beta]Judy didn't know what it was Jurgha had flicked off her finger, and she didn't want to know. She just focused on the job. "Let's run a quick comparison," she agreed. With a few quick swipes, she examined all results in law enforcement databases that matched either Dril before his operation, or "Bolt" now. "Looks like it happened sometime around October-November of '77," she reported, for Jurgha's use. However, her attention was also drawn to the operation. They were getting real close to "The Tusk" incriminating himself.

It seemed he wasn't as informed as he made out to be - who could blame him though for as long as he'd been confined to this little room. "In bad with the station commander? How fun." For a moment, Avi thought better of blabbing her business. She'd had her fill of being anyone's source of information and had tried (half-heartedly) to mind her own business and stay out of Starfleet's way. But sometimes, she just couldn't help herself. "Jurgha and me go way back," Avi said closing her eyes again. "She owes me whatever the equivilant of two years in an Orion mining camp is." [fn]Avi served a two year sentence in an Orion mining camp following a smuggling conviction in 2373 when she was 24.[/fn] Judith Eastman (Fatax), fyi Jovireh Velal (Brad)
