[Lt. Commander Isaiah Quinn - Transporter Room, USS Mac --> Arrivals, Talor City] The pair of scientists had been in the midst of discussing tactics to stabilize tectonic activity when they arrived in Transporter Room One. The quick revelation of their audience seemed to cause Cerjess' to cease his speech practically mid-sentence. As the Captain called for them to get going, everyone began to proceed to the transporter pads. Isaiah's eyes met Thea's as she moved towards the pad and he did the same. As the order was given to transport to commence, the room aboard the Mac disappeared and was soon replaced with the world of Talor Prime. It was always a thrilling experience to set foot on a new planet for the first time. Yet, the thrill was short-lived as it felt like they had transported beneath a faucet or a monsoon in late autumn. "I almost think they gave us these specific coordinates on purpose," he said softly, his comment directed towards Cerjess. It was naturally his luck. Next time, jackets were going on before transport. The Science chief began to wonder if it was simply every planet that was conspiring against him, or simply the Talorians acting alone on this one. The day was still early, but he wouldn't be surprised if they were actually in cahoots. He removed his tricorder from its holster to scan the immediate area, taking readings of this particular weather system, but also seeking out their supposed welcoming committee. "I think they're waiting for us in that direction, Captain," Isaiah called out, holstering the tricorder. At this point, the jacket was likely pointless.

[ LT Joshua Niles - Transporter Room, USS Mac -> Arrivals pad, Talor City]
Niles had been pacing in the transporter room.
Dealing with Talorians was hardly something he relished doing, and doing so on their turf, down on their homeworld, pleased him even less. And something that had not helped his mood was when a Crewman from Ops brought him a foul-weather coat, for apparently he'd neglected to grab one on his way down.
He had been shrugging into the coat, and making sure his access to his phaser and tricorder would be free through some cunningly-placed cuts in the garment, when the Sivaoan civilian arrived, quickly followed by the Captain, Lieutenant Mirren, Commander Quinn, and finally Commander Baker.
Well, this certainly was just getting better and better, three of the officers who were directly involved in the incident with the Dias Irae heading down to the Talorian homeworld. He'd tried not to think about that too much, but the old saying that had recently come to his mind, that day they had been forced to abandon their people on Caldonia, came back to haunt him with a vengeance: possession was nine tenths of the law. And so long as they were dirtside, for all intents and purposes, they would be in the Talorians' possession, no matter what their uniforms, weapons and commbadges, what all the Starfleet personnel on the surface, might have to say about it.
So at this point, his disposition was decidedly not improving one bit as he stepped onto the pad, and steeled himself for the change in environments.
And sure enough, he had gone from the confines of a starship, to a bloody deluge.
Just outstanding.

[Transporter Room One - USS Mac] Having being momentarily interrupted to accept the standard issue jackets for their trip to the surface. Thea then entered the transporter too find Left Ear already present. Acknowledging the Healer as the others began to arrive including the Captain. Once everyone was ready and Judy gave the direction to get going. Thea took her place on the pad, offering Isaiah a smile as Cerjess continued their conversation before realising who he was stood next too. " Chief, beam us down to the coordinates that were sent to you, then send the jackets down after us" she instructed, deciding that it would be easier that way. The Transporter Chief soon acknowledged the request and seconds later the room began to change around them.
When the crew materialised on the arrivals pad, the heavens opened as if they had been waiting for them to arrive. Some may call it coincidence, however it was a reminder of why they were here. [ Left Ear to-Ennien - Mac --> Arrivals - Talor City] Left Ear nodded to the Starfleet people as they arrived and stepped up onto the transporter pad, feeling a little out of place amongst all the uniforms. She eyed the jackets, not sure they'd fit the shape of her shoulders. The Sivaoan was fascinated by the experience of going through the transporter every time she did it. It was tingly. And then they fully materialized on the planet's surface. Left Ear had less than half a second to note the overcast skies before they proceeded to dump bucketloads of water on them. She gasped as the chill water hit and instantly soaked her to the skin, plastering the fur to her body. Sivaoans' fur had some water protection, but it was meant for light rain or mist. This downpour quickly overcame any resistance. [Lt. Judith Eastman(-Williams) - Sector 1A, Arrivals, Talor City]Materializing on the planet just in time to meet a rainstorm, Judy was thankful she'd donned her coat in advance. Her circulation was much improved since her heart replacement almost two years ago, but she still got cold rather easily. She just pulled her hood on over her head, and that left one problem. Glasses and rain didn't mix. With just the slightest wind to go with the rain, those sight-giving lenses found themselves coated with water, and the wearer lost much of her visual acuity. Judy placed the spectacles in a waterproof coat pocket, accepting that for now, her (horrible) natural eyesight would have to suffice. Shapes around her, be they structures or faces, turned into fuzzy, barely discernible versions of their actual selves. She wasn't going to think about the metaphorical implications of a blind captain. It wouldn't do. Upon hearing Quinn's assessment, she squinted in the general direction he'd indicated, and saw some fuzzy figures there. "I think so, Commander," she agreed. "Let's move."She walked cautiously, not wanting to slip, nor bump into someone or something, until she reached the Talorians. "I'm Captain Eastman of the Mac, pleased to meet you," she introduced herself, passably pretending she was seeing fine.

JG Cerjess Miren - Talor Prime - Talor City]Cerjess didn't say anything else for the brief duration on the transporter pad. Rematerializing in a new location mid sentence made the entire transport more discombobulating, and he was not inclined to experience it again. The sterile room dissolved around him, replaced by the arrivals pad of a city. Before he had a chance to look around, however, the sky greeted them with a downpour. While others scrambled to secure their jackets - or whatever they were doing, he was a bit distracted - the Trill stood staring up at the clouds, his face scrunched in thought as he squinted against the rain. "Is this the same storm we warned them about a few minutes ago?" He asked Commander Quinn curiously. Turning to look at the other scientist, he realized that the rest of the away team had begun walking towards a small group of Talorians. Cursing quietly under his breath, he grabbed the remaining jacket and slung it over his shoulder, jogging a few steps to catch up to the group right as Captain Eastman introduced herself to the locals.

[ Elder Kohr'don - Sector 1A, Arrivals, Prime Camp, Talor City] Kohr'don nodded at Elena's greeting. The mere sight of her face alone roused memories of her sister. So alike in appearance, yet so different within. Undoubtedly yet another torment he was forced to endure for the remainder of his days, however short they may be. "I doubt I have much to offer, but I remain at your disposal your highness in whatever capacity I can." He knew it was wise to remain cordial. If only to for the opportunity to remain in the loop on the demise of their world, both physically and ideally. His eyes then moved to Kaela once again. "Kaelpra always served his home with honor," Kohr'don remarked. "His Do'Jamme may not have been traditional, but his light will shine just as brightly when he greets you in the Underworld." The man was damned and so was the rest of his line. The best the girl could hope for at this point was to join well and pray for mercy upon her soul. The sound of L'Sho's transport made its announcement, and the elder took a deep breath. Even now, after surrendering their world to the Federation, their so-called great protector elected to appear with a show of force. The future of Talor Prime seemed more bleak than the clouds above. [Capt. Judith Eastman(-Williams) - Sector 1A, Arrivals, Talor City][...] She walked cautiously, not wanting to slip, nor bump into someone or something, until she reached the Talorians. "I'm Captain Eastman of the Mac, pleased to meet you," she introduced herself, passably pretending she was seeing fine. [Kaela - Sector 1A, Arrivals, Prime Camp, Talor City]Kaela should not have been surprised that the Elder would speak to her father's Do'Jamme, but the sudden feeling of grief growing within her breast almost took her breath away. She stared, eyes wide as she tried to school her emotions and response into something appropriate. "Thank you, Elder, your kind words bring me much comfort."They brought her none; Kaela had not shared her father's fervour for their people's faith. She knew that his end would be considered by others to be tarnished; disgraced, however. As she had when confronted with Princess Elana, the young Talorian continued to hold her own counsel. The ice-rain began as soon as the delegation from the USS Mac touched down. Their physiology would not be as accepting of this weather change as the once-aquatic species were. Kaela stood, waiting as they approached - slowly. Long, frozen lines of ice-rain continued to fall, the frequency speeding up with each passing second. They made a delicate sound when they met solid form; like the ping of a pin dropping. She'd often enjoyed it as a child, but as an adult and a scientist, she knew that today it heralded bad things. Once all of the introductions had been made, Kaela cleared her throat, her eyes darting between the Princess, Elder, and this Captain that seemingly identified herself as the Mac's leader. "Please excuse my interruption, Captain, assorted guests, Princess, Elder, if you would. We have set up a shelter close by, where we can work and your people can stay dry." She consulted her handheld computer, wiping some melted ice from the screen with her thumb as she studied the read-out. "This shower will continue for a further thirty minutes. However, it will be followed by a more problematic weather system later this afternoon."She cleared her throat again, nervous, and held her breath. [Primary L'Sho, Supreme Commander of the Talorian Armada - Arrivals, Prime Camp, Talor City]His personal transport was their most technically advanced craft to date, and it was almost whisper-quiet. However, to a small group gathered below as it hovered to land, it might not have been so unobtrusive. With two larger, but no less sleek craft acting as his escorts, they landed in triangular formation, in a display that befit the station of the Supreme Commander. L'Sho disembarked, and waited only long enough for his men to flank him. They were all pristine in uniform as they strode through the ice-rain, which was bouncing harmlessly off the special force-field that had sprung up around the company. The Primary barely spared a glance for the gathered officials, nor the treacherous Federationers. Without waiting for invitation, he and his men stepped inside the sheltered camp that had been erected for the guests and scientists, and began to commandeer it for his own purpose.

[ Elana - Sector 1A, Arrivals, Prime Camp, Talor City] " You have much to offer at this time Elder and I appreciate that very much" Elana replied thoughtfully, suddenly glad that Kohr'don was here. That quiet contemplation continued as the Elder spoke to Kaela directly, his words meaningful and for the first time, fully appreciated his presence. However any further conversation would have to wait as the icy deluge began to rain down on them, signalling the arrival of the Federation people. Whilst she was used to the rain, it wasn't as warm as normal. Another sign of the trouble that had blighted their planet. Ignoring the shiver through her skin as pleasantries were exchanged before Kaela suggested that they move to the shelter. " Yes that's an excellent idea, if you would follow... She may of paused mid sentence but the reason for that soon became apparent thanks the egotistical display from L'Sho. His rudeness, ignorance and blatant disregard for the scientists and their guests, left her feeling colder than the effect of the rain as he took over the camp. Hoping that things could be at least civil as prepared to follow the others. ****************** [ Thea - Sector 1A, Arrivals, Prime Camp, Talor City] Their arrival was apparently well timed as they were greeted by an heavy and icy deluge. Shivering slightly as the raindrops splattered her uniform until she grabbed a jacket. Thinking it was better than nothing as Isaiah indicated where their hosts were waiting for them. Noticing Judy's lack of eyewear, Thea stuck to her closely as she didn't want her to fall or break a bone. Acknowledging the introductions as one of the scientist's, Kaela made a very welcome suggestion, especially with what was headed their way. " That sounds great and the supplies will be getting beamed down shortly" she replied politely as L'Sho made his grand entrance. This was likely to get very awkward but that was infinitely better than getting completely soaked or that's what she told herself.

Commander Isaiah Quinn - Sector 1A, Arrivals, Prime Camp, Talor City] As Captain Eastman gave the order for the team to begin moving, Isaiah began moving in that direction. He also took the time to slide into the coat he had neglected to put on prior to transport. As he was doing so, he could hear Cerjess' question about this particular system. Isaiah continued to slide his arm in the sleeves as he answered. "I'm not certain, but if it is then it's on the extremes, and likely on the back end of the storm system," Isaiah said. "I expect the one we were looking at to have more of a kick... if such a thing is imaginable." The Starfleet officers eventually found themselves in the company of the Talorians. At the moment, Isaiah only recognized one of them, and that was Princess Elena. His eyes fell upon a woman and an older gentleman with a staff. Both of whom were unknown to Quinn. However, the woman eventually spoke up and made mention of a shelter where they could continue their conversation out of the elements. He also made mention of the storm as well as the approaching one. It was quite a hint that this was someone that Quinn probably needed to speak with. He gave Cerjess a subtle nudge as he made his way towards the woman as they began to move towards the shelter. Of course, there was another familiar face already en route, who didn't take any time for pleasantries: L'Sho. His people moved without any sort of acknowledgement of the others, his reception to their arrival about as chilly as the rain that fell upon them. Quinn pushed the thoughts aside for now as he introduced himself to the woman that had elected to guide them towards the shelter. "Excuse me, ma'am," Isaiah said to get her attention. "I'm Lt. Commander Quinn, Chief Science Officer aboard the USS Mac. This is my associate, Lt. Miren. We heard you mention the coming storm. It's something we detected prior to our arrival. Have you already initiated evacuation protocols for the coastal area? Our models suggest it could lead to some significant flooding."He paused to give her the chance to answer. He was confident he'd be able to get permission from Captain Eastman to use additional resources of the Mac if it was needed, and asked for. Though, if prior experience with the Talorians was any indication, it was likely pride (of select Talorians) would make such a gesture much more difficult.

[NPC - Elder Kohr'don - Sector 1A, Arrivals, Prime Camp, Talor City] Kaela's words were expected. She may be among the damned, but she at least carried herself with an air of honor and attempted to be gracious. Likewise, the princess seemed appreciative of Kohr'don's presence. He simply nodded and followed suit as they moved forward to meet these... Federation people. He had to admit, they were smaller than he had anticipated. From what he could see, nearly all of them appeared to be human. Of course, there was the one a lot of spots. Perhaps this was what their records noted as acne for their people. He didn't exercise any pleasantries at that time. He made note of the obvious leader, however. An elder woman, with lenses balanced upon her nose. He began to wonder if they were a matriarchal society in general practice. He'd have to further consult the reports that had been shared by the traveling delegation. And speaking of such people... L'Sho made his presence known. He was a small man, petty. Not in size, but in actions. He felt the need to exaggerate his importance. He had control of the military. The only people that doubted his dominance was himself... and perhaps there was some wisdom in that. Of course, trying too hard to be too important yielded its own vulnerabilities. The elder had no words for him. He simply followed along in silence, wishing to observe how the upcoming power play would play out between the princess and L'Sho in front of the Federation. Of course, it may prove to be a smaller display than he anticipated, given they were all acquainted with one another.

[Capt. Judith Eastman(-Williams) - Sector A1, Arrivals, Prime Camp, Talor City]L'Sho's display was less offensive in the low-res rendering of Judy's unbespectacled eyes, but still enough to get across the assertion of dominance, and all the insecurity that had to stand behind it. "Thank you," she said to the more helpful Talorians. "Let's head in."L'Sho would just have to share. As she entered the shelter, Judy wiped down her glasses with a cloth and then put them on. What she saw was hardly a relief. It sure seemed like L'Sho wanted his ego stroked in return for floor space. "I think we can just set up shop, Number One," the Captain said to her First Officer. "But I'll see if I can get us some extra hands."The Captain had a plan, to play on L'Sho's ego, and at least test his intentions: whether he meant to take credit for saving the day, or to set them up for failure and pick up the pieces. After taking off the hood of her coat, revealing her mostly dry, blonde[fn]dyed, at her age[/fn] hair, she approached the Talorian, checking her own ego as well as her moral judgement of him. "Primary L'Sho, I'm Captain Judy Eastman. I've looked forward to meeting you," she introduced herself. Having not engaged with the Talorian issue before, the newish Captain was still an unknown quantity for them. "My people have a lot of equipment to set up, and I was hoping yours could help us out?"A simple request of help, allowing the Primary to come off as the magnanimous savior, was surely as compelling as anything could be.

[ Left Ear to-Ennien - Sector 1A-Arrivals-Prime Camp-Talor City] Left Ear hunched and followed the others to the covered encampment. She wanted to shake the water from her fur, but this close to the group, it would mean showering them all with even more water. She was surprisingly comforted by the tent they were being led toward. It wasn't anything like the structures they built on Sivao, but it was more familiar to her than the sterility of the ship or station. Left Ear let all the others go in ahead of her, then shook herself hard, sending water flying everywhere, before stepping quickly inside before she could get soaked again. Her fur stood on end all over her body, which she hated, but it would help keep her warmer as she dried. Left Ear would prefer to lick it all back into place, but this wasn't the appropriate time or place to worry about it. She'd just deal with the odd looks and sniggers; helping these people was more important. ---------- Tag Thea Baker, Charlie Fox, Judith Eastman, Joshua Niles, etc

[Prime Camp, Talor City]
The rain grew colder and lashed against the city, the droplets sounding as though the ancient gods were beating the sacrificial drums. For those who still believed in the old ways and still mourned the loss of Orya, began to seek out one another. Gathering just outside the camp and away from those who welcomed and saw the Bataq's as their saviours. They knew it was dangerous to meet without the protection of their temples and Kohr'don. However if Talor was to survive this wrath, they had to rely on one another and perform one last ritual.
Of course Kohr'don wasn't their only holy man, as they summoned the Sisters of K'fra. Letting the anger of the gods wash over them as they began to chant. Their voices drowned out as the wind joined the rain.

[Lt. Commander Isaiah Quinn - Sector 1A, Arrivals, Prime Camp, Talor City] [...] Of course, there was another familiar face already en route, who didn't take any time for pleasantries: L'Sho. [Kaela - Sector 1A Shelter, Prime Camp, Talor City]She loosed the breath she'd been nervously holding when the officials seemed to approve of her suggestion to seek the shelter. Kaela continued to feel out of her depth, and she would seek some comfort in her work as much as possible. Thus, when an officer approached her with very specific questions, she found herself able to relax a little more, despite the frozen rain pinging around them as they walked. "I am Kaela. I have been asked to liaise with you on behalf of Talor's Council of Scholars," she explained to them both, keen to get the necessary introductions out of the way so they could get down to business. She recognised Lt. Commander Quinn's name immediately from her father's last logs on the Mac, though she was unfamiliar with his colleague, Lt. Miren. "All of the coastal regions in Malari Province have already been evacuated, though there were heavy losses before the warnings were taken seriously." She delivered her report without much emotional inflection, but deep inside her grief grew. "Just before your arrival the order to evacuate all of Talor Prime's satellite towns and cities along this stretch of coast was issued. I have been informed that the plan is to direct the people in the most vulnerable locations further inland, but I suspect that many will try to make their way here, to Prime Camp."As she moved aside to allow the two scientists to precede her, she added with an unmistakable tone this time, "I suspect that is why he is here." She inclined her head in Primary L'Sho's direction, then stepped inside. She gestured toward a number of consoles, already set up. "I have some free workstations here for your people, Lt. Commander Quinn, Lt. Miren, should you need them."

[Primary L'Sho - Temporary Primary Command, Sector 1A, Prime Camp]Primary L'Sho gave orders in a clear, but quiet voice. His people moved like the disciplined, well-oiled machine that they were, and he stood front and centre as he directed. His commandeering of the Operations shelter in Prime Camp hadn't just been symbolic, or intended to flex muscles, it also served a very important purpose. He would have to direct his people and run the rescue efforts from somewhere safe, and for that he'd need space. As far as he was concerned, his interests trumped whatever toys and rhetoric the Federation intruders were bringing. He turned glowing eyes toward Captain Judy Eastman as she approached, introduced herself, and then figuratively put her hand out. Of course, L'Sho understood what the human was doing, and while he'd at least give the appearance of playing ball, he felt quite unable to let the request pass without taking an opportunity to one-up the people who had left him in a prison cell for five weeks. "Has Commodore Perry finally admitted defeat and retired?" He asked, his tone bored, though the corners of his mouth tweaked upward. The Commodore had been an idiot, but an idiot L'Sho knew how to handle. He know very little about this replacement, other than the fact that she did not often stray far from the safety of their space station. L'Sho gestured toward his men, who worked efficiently to set up a rig that looked like some kind of broadcasting apparatus. "As you can no doubt see, Captain Judy Eastman," he began, pontificating a little as he regarded her "spectacles" with a raised brow, "My men also have a lot of equipment. We are in the middle of a planetary crisis. My people are dying."He paused for a moment and raised a hand to summon a nearby officer, medals affixed to his chest glistening with the movement. "I am aware of your species physical shortcomings, however, and in the interest of cooperation, I can spare my trusted lieutenant. T'Rok, please provide the Captain with whatever assistance she requires."

[ LT Joshua Niles - Arrivals pad -> Prime Camp, Talor City]Freezing rain. There never was a more wretched, more miserable form of precipitation, and it was over already waterlogged hair that he pulled up his coat's hood. And just doing that made a thin sheet of ice fall off the advanced fabric, even as his breath puffed out of his mouth. So not only was this going to be disaster relief, it was going to be disaster relief in thoroughly unpleasant weather. However, the Away Team did not spend too long under those conditions before getting ushered into a large tent that was clearly set up as a field command post. The ground was a right mess, but at least it was weather-tight and marginally warmer than the air outside. Though, when he pulled down his hood, getting the lay of the land as he looked around, he caught sight of their Sivaoan guest, and he brought a fist to his lips and coughed a few times as to mask his chuckle. There was, frankly, something truly amusing to seeing Left-Ear to be so... poofy. But that mirth, brief as it was, was replaced by a cold weight setting into the pit of his stomach when Primary L'Sho arrived. That man, Niles did not like at all. In fact, it might even be fair to say he thoroughly despised him. However, this was hardly the time to air out his grievances, not when the weather was going to be turning worse in the near future, and refugees would become a serious concern on a planetary scale before long. And to think that at the point in time, in the presence of someone he knew was hostile to the Federation, he was the only security presence with this particular landing party. I should have insisted on a full detail, he found himself thinking. But, he knew he would still have been rejected. This was, after all, a disaster relief mission. And given he had been assigned no particular tasks thus far, he did what he was supposedly qualified to do (although only marginally), and stood at the Captain's shoulder... and tried not to glare at the Primary.

{Quoted Posts} [ LT Joshua Niles - Transporter Room, USS Mac -> Arrivals pad, Talor City]Niles had been pacing in the transporter room. [Capt. Judith Eastman(-Williams) - Sector 1A, Arrivals, Talor City][...] "I think so, Commander," she agreed. "Let's move."She walked cautiously, not wanting to slip, nor bump into someone or something, until she reached the Talorians. "I'm Captain Eastman of the Mac, pleased to meet you," she introduced herself, passably pretending she was seeing fine. [Lt. "I'm Lt. Have you already initiated evacuation protocols for the coastal area? Our models suggest it could lead to some significant flooding."He paused to give her the chance to answer. He was confident he'd be able to get permission from Captain Eastman to use additional resources of the Mac if it was needed, and asked for. Cerjess furrowed his brow in thought as he began to put his jacket on, shuffling his kit from shoulder to shoulder. He was about to follow the Captain to the tent, when he felt a nudge and saw Isaiah approaching one of the other Talorians that had greeted them. Following him instead, he remained quiet, nodding as he was introduced to the woman. At least the coastal regions were already evacuated... Those would be hit the hardest first. "Can you tell me what the changes in the weather have been?" Were these storms larger than the planet was used to? Were they coming more frequently, or in unusual patterns? While that information alone wouldn't give them the answers, it would definitely give him a place to start his search. They entered the tent, where a Talorian military commander seemed unaware of the space they would need. But it appeared Captain Eastman was already addressing him, so Cerjess followed Kaela to the smaller tables the military didn't seem interested in. He set his kit down and glanced over at her. "If possible, I'll also need a flat stretch of ground with a clear view of the sky. Is there somewhere like that nearby?" The hard part in most cities was finding a stretch of flat ground that hadn't been built on, paved over, or planted in.

[Thea - Sector 1A Shelter, Prime Camp, Talor City]
Seeing L'Sho already at work when she entered the shelter, behind Judy and the others, did little to make Thea think that this was going to be easy. Although once Judy was able to see again and spoke to her, she was right and the mission came first regardless of the awkwardness. " Agreed and good luck" she replied, knowing that this would be a first for both Judy and L'Sho.
Of course she couldn't tell how the introductions would go as she noticed Niles standing within distance. Immediately wondering if him being this close would interfere with the mission as he wasn't exactly L'Sho's biggest fan. However hoped that he would remain professional despite his personal feelings.
Luckily for them, there was a silver lining amongst all of this darkness as the Talorian scientist answered Isaiah's questions. An idea then began to form in the XO's mind as Kaela offered work stations for Isaiah and Miren. "If it's okay with our hosts and you Captain. I'd like to take Left Ear and help out with triage of any injured, whilst Mr Niles helps on this side of the camp with incoming evacuees".
If they agreed then it would give the others something to do whilst the scientist's worked on stopping this disaster.

{Quoted Posts} [Capt. [Prime Camp, Talor City] The rain grew colder and lashed against the city, the droplets sounding as though the ancient gods were beating the sacrificial drums.
*** [Primary L'Sho - Temporary Primary Command, Sector 1A, Prime Camp]Primary L'Sho gave orders in a clear, but quiet voice. T'Rok, please provide the Captain with whatever assistance she requires." [ LT Joshua Niles - Arrivals pad -> Prime Camp, Talor City]Freezing rain. [Lt. JG Cerjess Miren - Talor Prime - Talor City]Isaiah's answer was both reassuring and concerning. [ Thea - Sector 1A Shelter, Prime Camp, Talor City] Seeing L'Sho already at work when she entered the shelter, behind Judy and the others, did little to make Thea think that this was going to be easy. I'd like to take Left Ear and help out with triage of any injured, whilst Mr Niles helps on this side of the camp with incoming evacuees".If they agreed then it would give the others something to do whilst the scientist's worked on stopping this disaster. [Lt. Commander Isaiah Quinn - Sector 1A Shelter, Prime Camp, Talor City] Isaiah listened as Kaela introduced herself. She had been appointed as a liaison by the Council of Scholars, but from what he could see she was far more open-minded than they had proven to be. She brought both him and Cerjess up to speed about the evacuations. It did sound at least as if efforts had been made to relocate people, and even sounded as if a number of them could wind up where they were. Kaela then went on to point out some workstations that had been reserved for them. Or at least, what hadn't been claimed by L'Sho's soldiers. "Thank you," Isaiah answered, "please, call me, Quinn." The science officer thought it would be less intimidating to continue without the use of his rank. At least it could potentially be perceived as putting them on equal footing, by pushing aside the use of his rank. Cerjess then asked about the specific changes in the weather from the typical norm. It was wise of the Trill to establish a baseline from a willing and seemingly credible source. "And are there any prominent theories of the cause. Many of the manuscripts that were shared with us previously avoided drawing such conclusions."Cerjess also asked about a patch of land that hadn't been disturbed, seemingly so they could collect data of their own. He hoped there wouldn't be much of an objection. Yet, as Isaiah looked out, he noticed a small gathering of Talorians, including some that appeared to be speaking in unison. "Who are they?"

[NPC - Elder Kohr'don - Sector 1A, Arrivals, Prime Camp, Talor City] Perhaps the rigid chains of ego would weigh down the delicate threads of diplomacy. L'Sho had little regard for anyone else's agenda with the exception of his own. Still, the Federation leader approached him, attempting to coax his ego. She was new to him. Kohr'don had discovered that much by simply observing. He paused a moment, to continue to watch how this would play out between them. Yet, something else captured his attention. He could see the Sisters of K'fra had appeared, along with a small gathering of their people. Kohr'don stepped from beneath the shelter and into the elements once more. He allowed the icy precipitation to fall upon him, making no attempt to sheild himself from the gods admonishment of his people. Instead, he bowed his head solemnly, allowing the faint sound of the Sisters' chant to ensnare his ear. His silent prayer wasn't one of mercy, strength or deliverance. It was for guidance... guidance for his people to embrace the old ways and on their own find the strength generations and generations had foolishly lost.
