[ Thea - Prime Camp] As she continued to observe the ritual taking place in front of them. Thea began to realise that the unnecessary actions taken by Orya may not of been as evil as believed. That didn't excuse what she had done nor would it bring comfort to the victims families and those who had survived. However witnessing all of this did make her wonder about how they weren't too dissimilar to those cultures who followed ancient customs and performed sacrifices, especially in Earth's own past. Being here was certainly giving Thea a better understanding of who the Talorians were and how they lived. Of course she wished that it was under better circumstances but that was something that none of them could change, at least not yet. When Left Ear joined her, Thea turned to the Healer with the feeling that the Princess and the Elder wouldn't be too long in joining them. " Let's go ahead and get started on setting up our equipment and sorting out the supplies" she instructed and began to walk towards the supplies that had been beamed down.
Tag Ozu Saya[ Left Ear to-Ennien - Prime Camp] Left Ear approached the stack of supplies and took several cases in her hands, managing to also grab a couple with handles by wrapping her tail around them. She looked up to fix on their destination, then tucked her head so that her makeshift cloak would protect her better and set off through the icy downpour toward the designated medical shelter. With a shiver, Left Ear shouldered her way into the tent where a few cots were set up, a couple already containing patients. Left Ear moved to one side and set the cases of supplies along the wall of the tent and resisted the urge to shake herself off again as she turned to get instructions from Thea. ---------- Tag Thea Baker

[L'Shaya - Ritual Space, Prime Camp, Talor City]
Taking the wine filled chalice from it's last recipient, L'Shaya lifted it one final time, in order to repeat the scared prayer before she consumed the remaining liquid. "Dabo vobis, ostende misericordiae placet". Prayer completed, L'Shaya lifted the chalice and drank deeply until the chalice was empty once more. Satisfied that this particular ritual had been successful. Although it wouldn't end with the blood sacrifice as the Sisterhood and their devotees would continue with their prayers and meditations until Talor was spared from destruction.
Handing the chalice to her second so it could be refilled, L'Shaya looked towards Kohr'don and the Princess. Her thoughts turning to Orya and how they would of been spared from this cruel twist of fate if she hadn't abandoned the Sisterhood and brought their religion into disrepute because of her extremist ways. For many day cycles, L'Shaya had blamed herself until her faith showed her that, she couldn't forget about those who stayed true to her.
Not that she could ever admit that to anyone, not even her brother, who was busy being their Supreme Leader. Remembering how she had brought honour to their family when she was chosen to serve the gods and how her relationship with L'Sho had soured because of it. He may have faith but the gods would only reunite them when both were willing to take that path. There was no sadness only clarity as she gestured for her followers to sit, her curiosity about the Bataqs taking over slowly as more of them exited the shelter, watching them silently before beginning a more melodic prayer.

[Primary L'Sho - Temporary Primary Command, Sector 1A, Prime Camp]Primary L'Sho liked concise answers from his inferiors. Lt. Niles used many words, when the Primary only wanted one: Tactical. The Talorian had a memory like a steel-trap, and he knew that the tactical officer was a suspected accomplice of Charlie Fox's. Before L'Sho had been unlawfully imprisoned on Argus Major, he had considered having the man investigated for collusion. He cast that aside for the moment, however, as there were greater things that required his attention. Besides, it was better to have this icy human close by, where he and his men could keep an eye on him. If Niles' orders to his men were anything to go by, they would need to ensure that he understood that any harm befalling the Talorian people at the hands of the Federationers, would result in a little imprisonment of their own. "It does not appear that your Captain Eastman has any tasks for you, at all." His glowing eyes rested on the older human, who had joined the scientists in discussion. He snapped his attention back to Niles. "You may assist my people with the organisation of evacuation.""We are ready to go live, Primary. Shall I summon the Princess?"L'Sho angled his body away from Niles and studied the broadcasting apparatus. "The Princess is busy following Kohr'don around like a lost infant sroc. A shame, as I am sure her words would comfort our people.""Then who will address them, Primary?""I suppose I must carry this responsibility." Like he hadn't planned it from the very beginning, L'Sho straightened his perfect uniform and stepped into the view of the recorder. [Capt. Judith Eastman(-Williams) - Shelter, Sector 1A, Prime Camp, Talor City]... The Captain looked between the two scientists, smiling. "Well, there we go. Let's get the equipment assembled at the plaza."Judy took a bright-red (clearly civilian) umbrella out of her backpack, pulled her hood back on, and stepped out into the rain, this time prepared enough to protect her glasses. [ LT Joshua Niles Prime Camp, Talor City]Niles simply stood and weathered L'Sho's glare and words. If he had a problem with him being there, and he well might, that was something to be taken up with Captain Eastman or the diplomatic corps. And it certainly was not his place to instruct the Captain as to when, or what, orders might be issued to other Starfleet personnel. If she had a job for one Joshua Niles to work on, she would tell him if he need not be left to his own devices as per the original mission scope. However, given he was just now cleared to actually work with the evacuation efforts (as, after all, Starfleet was only a guest on Talor Prime and could not take any unilateral action), he made his way towards those who were wrangling those issues, which were now complicated by the burgeoning unrest. Which would make things truly interesting all right. When he approached the stations used for that purpose, he took a look at the maps where information was being updated, and he looked at the deepening mess. And already, he was starting to consider the various issues before him... And there was little he could see from mere displays that could be of any real use. However, it would seem that some of the major demonstrations was in the immediate vicinity of much of landing party... which would put him back in Captain Eastman's immediate vicinity should anything happen, and it would get him the hell away from L'Sho, which was a non-trivial consideration given that it would take someone with the emotional perceptiveness of an eggplant to notice just how little love lost there was between the two of them. While he was patient, he also knew he had a temper and it might not take too much for him to lose his cool, which would do absolutely no one any good at this time. With a sigh, he drew his hood back up, and left the tent that served as a command post and stepped into the frigid precipitation on his way towards the plaza... where he was greeted by an actually bloody ritual, and he felt himself blanch at the sight. There were indeed many of the devout Talorians gathered there, and they were indeed impeding the flow of movement... and they had people entirely too close to them. However, he did make his way towards Captain Eastman, who appeared to be supervising Commander Quinn and Lieutenant Cerjess and he cleared his throat as he approached her shoulder. "Captain, there wasn't much good I could do in the CP," he started. However, what he did not add was that there was certainly a risk of making things far, far worse and he had removed himself from that situation. "And it would seem there is some religious-driven unrest stirring up at least across the city. I've already passed it on to the Security teams we have on the surface. Might I ask what the situation is here, and how can I be useful?"Well, one thing for certain, he was not ashamed to admit when he was in over his head...

{Quotes} [Lt. JG Cerjess Miren - Talor Prime - Talor City]The changes in the storms Kaela described were concerning. Even more so when she confirmed his fears about the tectonic activity. He would need to set up his equipment before he could further expand on his developing theory, so for the meantime he remained silent. At least, until she offered a plaza for him to use. "That sounds perfect, thank you," he replied. The Captain approached with another Talorian, clearly part of the military presence, and he nodded in acknowledgment. "Have our equipment crates been beamed down yet?" He asked. The sooner he could set up the pylons in the plaza, the sooner he could rule out possible causes. [Lt. Commander Isaiah Quinn - Sector 1A Shelter, Prime Camp, Talor City] For the first time, Quinn began to feel as if he was actually making progress as he listened to Kaela. The intensity in these ice-rains wasn't the only thing that had changed. It seemed that the frequency had as well. Kaela then mentioned tectonic shifts and a possible relation between them. Isaiah had been about to inquire further along those lines, but it was around that time that the Captain approached with another Talorian in tow. His presence seemed to have some sort of effect on Kaela. Perhaps she wasn't as comfortable sharing as much in his presence. Essentially, it seemed that the powers at be needed to sign off on any official theories. Yet, Kaela seemed to feel that the connection between the tectonic activity and the weather patterns was related. "Thank you, Kaela," he said simply. He then gave his attention to the Captain after Kaela identified a potential location that seemed to meet Cerjess' parameters. As the Captain introduced T'Rok as L'Sho's aide. That seemed to speak volumes, especially considering Kaela's reaction. Cerjess went on to ask if their equipment had been received yet from the ship. "Thank you, Captain. And you as well, T'Rok, for your assistance," said Isaiah. The science officer then turned towards Captain Eastman once more. "Captain, permission to proceed to the plaza. We just require a location to get some real-time data to compile with the rest the Talorians have shared with us."He didn't believe it was much to object to, but thought it wiser to ask permission before actually proceeding. His eyes eventually fell on to the gathered Talorians in the distance. He felt as if he recognized whatever ritual that was occurring as one of the more traditional ones. He didn't say much more about it, instead turning his attention back towards the Captain, believing it best to deal with the crisis at hand before giving way to his curiosity of the ritual and overall culture of the Talorians. He thought about Kaela's words, as she described why they performed the ritual. He only hoped that in some ways it worked: and the answers revealed themselves soon. [Capt. Judith Eastman(-Williams) - Shelter, Sector 1A, Prime Camp, Talor City]Judy clasped her hands behind her back. She could pick up on the chilly reaction, though, being used to her pips acting as a buzzkill, she didn't immediately realize Kaela was reacting to T'Rok. Before she could answer anyone, she got a ping on her combadge. =A= "Captain, we've beamed down the equipment." =A= =A= "Thank you, Mabel." =A= The Captain looked between the two scientists, smiling. "Well, there we go. Let's get the equipment assembled at the plaza."Judy took a bright-red (clearly civilian) umbrella out of her backpack, pulled her hood back on, and stepped out into the rain, this time prepared enough to protect her glasses. [Kaela - Plaza, Prime Camp, Talor City]T'Rok, silent but likely very deadly, at least in Kaela's consideration, stood still, like a statue, as the strangers spoke around him. He spared a nod to the human who thanked him, but did not move again until the group started toward the tent entrance. He fell into step behind the Federation Captain, eyes on the look out for any of this equipment they spoke of. To make himself useful, he reached out to take a carrier that Kaela had picked up from the ground and started to loop around her shoulder. She sidestepped from T'Rok's large, outreached hands, and pulled her bag closer to her body protectively. He stared at her for a few moments, before disengaging and falling back into position behind the Captain. Kaela tried to ignore him as she stepped out into the ice-rain. It wasn't hard to do when the Captain produced a very strange device, which opened up like red webbed feet at the flick of a wrist. She regarded it with wonder. "Excuse me, Captain, my apologies for any intrusion." She blinked against the rain as she continued to study the device. "May I ask what this is?"T'Rok was busy staring at the Security Officer. He continued to stare as he assisted with setting up the equipment in the plaza, giving no trouble to any of the scientists who would direct him.

[Prime Camp, Talor City]
Small groups, large groups, couples and individuals of various ages, began to meander into the camp. Some seemed to hurry, others walked slow and huddled together against the ice rain. The majority of them preferred to talk amongst themselves or occasionally cast glances towards the Sisters and their followers. Some even appeared to approve and join in with the prayers.
However not all of them were peaceful as about ten clearly angry Talorians burst through the crowd, headed directly for the Plaza and the command shelter. One in particular, a man in his later years began to shout at Josh. " Bataqs on Talor, how dare you, I demand that you get off this planet!!".
More of his group gathered round him, shouting and making demands, blaming both the Federationers and the government for bringing this to the evil to Talor. Some even brandished weapons and showed no signs of stopping.

It protects us from the rain."Putting on her clean glasses, Judy could see the ten or so furious fundies (at least, it seemed safe to assume they were fundies) approaching them. She was troubled by it, but they had Talorian military personnel, as well as their own security, on hand, to hopefully defuse the confrontation before someone got lynched. Still, she muttered the traditional, "oy vey iz mir," and then reached out to take the umbrella back. It wouldn't do for it to get in the tactical officer's way. "Be gentle," she warned Josh.

[Primary L'Sho - Temporary Primary Command, Sector 1A, Prime Camp]
Primary L'Sho was once again shocked at how poorly these Federation officers seemed to have been trained. The Lt. Niles did not so much as acknowledge his generous offer, in fact he'd just walked away without another word. He had considered that it might be a strictly human problem, but Dr. Baker, and to a lesser extent, the scientist Quinn, had been much more eager to please. Perhaps Starfleet admission standards were extremely low, and the people of Front Ear had been graced with only two people out of thousands who seemed in any way qualified to do their jobs.
The Primary was pleased that the same could not be said for his Navy. He felt a tiny trickle of pride at the thought, before squaring his shoulders and facing the hololens. Offside to his left, came the voice of another aide, counting down...
"Loyal subjects of Talor, I stand before you ready. From the glistening towers of Talor City, to the peace of the East Mountains, we have known great loss this day, but we will overcome - together.
As I speak, our scientists are working on a way to stop this onslaught. Our military and officers have been deployed to affected areas, to assist with evacuation. They are there for your safety. Remain calm and follow their instructions."
L'Sho continued, polished and poised as always, until the movements to his right caught his eye. Two of his officers briefly engaged with the aide, the aide then trying, and failing, to block their path to the Primary, who was live to the masses. The voices from outside were already louder than the sound of the ice-rain on the roof of the tent, and almost as loud as his own voice. He made a subtle hand gesture.
MOVE OUT.
As his men nodded and sharply turned on their feet to address the issues outside, Primary L'Sho began his last few instructions to the planet of Talor.

MOVE OUT.As his men nodded and sharply turned on their feet to address the issues outside, Primary L'Sho began his last few instructions to the planet of Talor. [ LT Joshua Niles Prime Camp, Talor City]When the umbrella was handed to him, Niles did not even have the presence of mind to object at being a beast of burden. Frankly, he was just relieved to no longer be in close proximity with the Primary, and given there was very little he could do from in there without a better idea of what was going on, an idea the mere screens could not provide, that holding an umbrella for a few moments was truly the least of his concerns. Even the miserably cold precipitation was an improvement over the weathertight confines of the command center at this point... or at least it would have been had a group not started to coalesce before them, and walked towards the Starfleet personnel in a most menacing fashion. Internally, he swore viciously as the violence-inclined Talorians were nearing his fellow officers, and it would seem the Captain had given voice to her own feelings, though in a far more polite manner than he would have. And, she did admonish him to have a soft touch here... which might not be possible. "As much as I can, Captain," he replied softly before stepping in front of her, and ensuring that the phaser on his right hip, ready for what was once called a cavalry draw, was clear of his coat. "Commander Quinn, Lieutenant Cerjess, I would need you to come this way if you please." Of course, he could not give orders to Mister Quinn, and while he outranked Cerjesss, he was working directly with the Chief Science Officer, so it would be bad form. Therefore, a pointed request would be as much as he could manage for now. But, there remained the issue of the gathering crowd, and how he was pretty much all alone. Of course, he could request reinforcements from the ship and get a fully armed team dirtside fairly quickly, but that had to be a very distant Plan B as it well might offend the Talorians even more... But, there was this attache L'Sho had sent their way. What as his name again... "Lieutenant T'Rok, I would appreciate if you could call in some of your people for some crowd control here, if you please." While he was uncertain as to exact rank equivalencies between Starfleet and the Talorian forces, it tended to pay to be at least courteous, especially when one's safety was in someone else's hands barring force majeure. And, of course, there was a need to defuse this situation, preferably before armed force became necessary. "Miss," he started, casting a look towards Kaela, "You know your people better than I do. What are the odds they can be talked down?"Of course, contingencies had been prepared, ranging from bringing in Security teams to emergency beamouts, but at this point in time, the preferred resolution would be to stop the violence before it started, and not look like they were running away.

His answer was wise and in that instant, Elana could hear them for what they truly were and was glad to be privy to the Elder's wisdom and guidance. Then when he turned and looked into her eyes, her breath caught in her chest, wondering if he had ever gazed so intently when facing her Sister. It felt as though he was looking into her soul, perhaps seeking the fire that should be burning within. Her quest for doing what was right casting only a small flame until the Elder decided to test her. She looked back towards those in the tent, catching sight of the two Doctors not wanting to approach just yet. Hearing Kohr'don's words as she thought about everything. Her heart sobbed for what she had become, before it began to burn with anger upon seeing L'Sho. She knew that the Primary had done this to stroke his ego, to prove that he was Talor's true leader. However she wasn't going to let him wear her down or make her doubt her true path, not anymore. " The old ways can never be extinguished or forgotten if Talor is to survive. Whilst we embrace the new, it's time to forge a different path, one that coexists with the other. My Sister's sacrifice will no longer be in vain as L'Sho will see his retribution for sullying what it is to be Talorian".Elana paused, her breath heavy and determined, her spirit no longer shy as if it had taken this betrayal to finally make her see. " Let him play his infantile game, I know where my heart lies and Elder it would give me great joy, if you would accompany me into the camp with the Bataq Doctors. We can show the people that they aren't our enemy and their Princess has not forsaken them".[ Thea - Prime Camp] As she continued to observe the ritual taking place in front of them. [Lt. JG Cerjess Miren - Talor Prime - Talor City]The Captain approved Quinn's request to move to the plaza, the equipment was beamed down, and everything else seemed to Cerjess to be just pleasantries. Fastening his jacket, he pulled the hood over his head and stepped out of the tent. The stacks of crates that hadn't been there before were quite obvious, and as he approached them he was able to see what he assumed to be the plaza Kaela directed them to. It would be a little bit of a walk, but not terrible, and they had extra hands now to help carry the crates. Adjusting his kit on his shoulder as he examined the labels on the crates, he selected the ones he would need first. Stacking the two smaller ones on top of the larger one, he carefully lifted them up and began to carry all three towards the plaza. [ L'Shaya - Ritual Space, Prime Camp, Talor City] Taking the wine filled chalice from it's last recipient, L'Shaya lifted it one final time, in order to repeat the scared prayer before she consumed the remaining liquid. {Spoiler}[Kaela - Plaza, Prime Camp, Talor City]
T'Rok, silent but likely very deadly, at least in Kaela's consideration, stood still, like a statue, as the strangers spoke around him. [Prime Camp, Talor City] Small groups, large groups, couples and individuals of various ages, began to meander into the camp. " Bataqs on Talor, how dare you, I demand that you get off this planet!!".More of his group gathered round him, shouting and making demands, blaming both the Federationers and the government for bringing this to the evil to Talor. Some even brandished weapons and showed no signs of stopping. [Capt. Judith Eastman(-Williams) - Plaza, Prime Camp, Talor City]Being old and prone to tweaking her back, Judy refrained from carrying anything herself, though she hardly looked content with that, as she walked to the Plaza, and was then approached by others. The Captain gently turned her head to face Josh, downright surprised that he was out quite so quickly, and with nothing to do. She thought he was more self-motivated than that. Still, if he was here, she'd put him to... use. Not good use, but use. "Could you be a dear and hold onto my umbrella?" she asked. "I've got to clean some schmutz[fn]Yiddish: dirt[/fn] off my glasses."After handing over the umbrella, and while wiping down her bifocals, Judy turned to answer Kaela's question. "Oh, I don't mind at all," she replied, smiling softly. "It's an umbrella. {Spoiler}[ LT Joshua Niles Prime Camp, Talor City]
When the umbrella was handed to him, Niles did not even have the presence of mind to object at being a beast of burden. [Lt. Commander Isaiah Quinn - Prime Camp --> Plaza, Talor City, Talor Prime] It was almost as if it were on cue that the supplies arrived. Isaiah nodded at the Captain as she suggested that they get underway. The Science Officer briefly opened a few of the crates to inspect their contents, confirming they had what they'd need before taking up a pair of the crates and began to make his way to the plaza along with the others. Quinn honestly, hadn't expected the Captain to tag along, but didn't have any objections. Quinn cast a single glance in Thea's direction as he stepped into the elements, as it appeared she was busy and preparing to get underway as well. Isaiah found Kaela's query to the captain about the umbrella only slightly amusing. Not necessarily funny, but interested in what she would think about a device that protected one from the rain, as the Captain had put it. He wondered if they had even considered creating such a device given the nature of their environment. However, his mild musings soon gave way to a more menacing obstacle that was beginning to form. Quinn knew that their presence wasn't necessarily a popular event, but several people seemed inclined to let them know it. Lt. Niles eventually asked that both Quinn and Cerjess remain close, likely fearing the possibility that things could get out of hand. As Niles spoke to T'Rok about additional support, Quinn turned his attention to Cerjess. "How much time do you think it'll take to collect the data we need?" he asked. Isaiah didn't want to leave before he did all he could to help these people, but if things escalated too far, it would likely be a decision that was out of his hands.

[NPC - Elder Kohr'don - Sector 1A, Arrivals, Prime Camp, Talor City] For a moment, he was reminded of Orya. He could sense that their was a similarity between Elana and her late sister. Perhaps she was not lost and his words had pierced her heart. Perhaps there was a chance that she could be the leader that Talor Prime needed after all. He believed he could sense the contempt in her voice where L'Sho was concerned. This could be her moment. Even her referring to the Federationers as bataqs. "Yes, let's us go... for the people," he agreed. His eyes cast in L'Shaya's direction once more. He simply couldn't understand how some siblings could be so different. At first Orya and Elana, yet their differences seemed salvageable. However, where L'Shaya and L'Sho were concerned. As devout as L'Shaya was to the old ways, he wondered if the waters of Talor were thicker than the blood that bound the siblings. Where L'Sho was concerned, Kohr'don felt he knew the answer. For the sake of their world, he could only hope that L'Shaya felt the same way.

[Medical Tent, Prime Camp, Talor City]
With Left Ear grabbing several crates including some by using her tail. Thea picked up what she could also carry and followed the Sivaoan towards the tent that had been set up to give them some shelter whilst treating patients. Seeing that they weren't completely alone, Thea knew that it could get a lot busier as she set the crates down and began to open them.
"I've downloaded all the information we have on Talorian physiology onto these Padds" she informed Left Ear as she took them out and handed the healer one. " I recommend that we start with standard scans and if you have any questions just let me know".
Thea had some prior knowledge thanks to their last encounters with the Talorians and yet hoped, that the natives would allow the Doctors to help.

[ Elana - Prime Camp, Talor City] Her eyes still glared with an unnatural fury at the way L'Sho had exerted his dominance and kept her out of the update to their people. However Elana knew where her loyalties laid and until she was thrust into the spotlight as the successor to her sister, she wasn't unlike the very people who now sought safety from the wrath of the gods. Casting one last look at the Supreme Leader, one filled with disdain before turning her attention back to Kohr'don. Seeing the way he looked at her, she hoped he could see the truth and fire that had been awoken as he then agreed to accompany her to help the Bataq Doctors. " Thank you, Elder, you have been most helpful to me already and I know our people will be most pleased that you will be with me".Elana smiled softly as she then followed the path that Baker and the one called Left Ear, a most curious humanoid that Elana found fascinating. Arriving as the Doctors were busy, Elana was then greeted by several Talorians who looked to her and Kohr'don for guidance. " Do not fear the Bataqs, they mean us no harm".

[Primary L'Sho - Temporary Primary Command, Sector 1A, Prime Camp]Primary L'Sho was once again shocked at how poorly these Federation officers seemed to have been trained.
Remain calm and follow their instructions."L'Sho continued, polished and poised as always, until the movements to his right caught his eye. MOVE OUT.As his men nodded and sharply turned on their feet to address the issues outside, Primary L'Sho began his last few instructions to the planet of Talor. {Spoiler}[Kaela - Plaza, Prime Camp, Talor City]
T'Rok, silent but likely very deadly, at least in Kaela's consideration, stood still, like a statue, as the strangers spoke around him. [Prime Camp, Talor City] Small groups, large groups, couples and individuals of various ages, began to meander into the camp. {Spoiler}[ LT Joshua Niles Prime Camp, Talor City]
When the umbrella was handed to him, Niles did not even have the presence of mind to object at being a beast of burden.

JG Cerjess Miren - Talor Prime - Talor City]The Trill wasted no time in opening his crates and pulling out the pylons, beginning by erecting them at several points throughout the plaza before typing in the commands to sync them. So focused on the task at hand, he was, that he didn't even seem to notice the area surrounding them beginning to fill with people. When the volatile yelling started, the shock was evident in his eyes as he glanced over at the angry crowd approaching them. That was not good... He swiftly refocused his attention back on the equipment in front of him, tapping a few more commands into the PADD in his hand, before glancing up at the sky and squinting against the onslaught of icy rain. These certainly weren't ideal conditions to work in, but it was always easier to find the cause of a natural phenomena while it was occurring, so he wouldn't complain about it. He hadn't gotten very far, however, when he heard someone call his name. Cerjess glanced over to the Tactical Lieutenant, then over at Commander Quinn, whom asked how long it would take to gather the necessary data. "That depends on a lot of factors, sir," he began, turning his gaze back to the pylons that were blinking to flash tiny lights in a particular pattern. "Gathering meteorological data and geographical data take time on their own. Then there's the matter of if we'll even be able to pick up any seismic activity from this location. I may need to transport closer to one of the fault lines to get that information. Not to mention the more I'm interrupted, the longer it's going to take..." He didn't mean that last statement to be rude, simply stating the fact. While he normally didn't mind helping other departments when needed... He was far from being security material. The scientist didn't have the faintest idea how to handle an angry mob... But the equipment? That he knew what to do with. But it wasn't his place to argue. If he was called away from the data gathering to assist Lt. Niles, then he would help Lt. Niles... Or at least, try to help, and hope he didn't get everyone killed.

[Medical Tent, Prime Camp, Talor City] With Left Ear grabbing several crates including some by using her tail.
Tag Ozu Saya [ Left Ear to-Ennien - Medical Tent] Left Ear nodded and took the PADD from Thea, tucking it into one of her pouches. She'd looked at some info before they'd arrived, but it would be good to have everything on hand in case she'd missed something. She pulled the useful back off her head and let it drape as a cape again. The fabric was damp, but had mostly repelled the heavy rains, and kept her fur from getting soaked all over again. Pulling free her medical scanner, which was already calibrated for the Talorians, Left Ear approached the first cot containing a shivering, young-looking Talorian. ' Hello,' she said gently as she began scanning. ' My name is Left Ear. I'm a healer. Let's see if we can get you more comfortable.' The Talorian blinked up at her with wide, shocked eyes but didn't respond verbally as Left Ear returned to the cases along the wall of the tent and snapped one open. She pulled out a rolled blanket and a small packet and returned to the bed to drape the blanket around the young female's shoulders. Then Left Ear bent the packet with a small snap and rolled it for a moment between her hands. ' Hold onto this. It will help you warm up,' she instructed, patting the girl on the shoulder. She offered the tiniest of smiles as she took the heat pack and pressed it between her hands, eyes closing in relief as the warmth soothed her. Left Ear returned to Thea to murmur, ' We could use some heating units if we can get them. I think we're going to be dealing with a lot of hypothermia and shock, so the quicker we can warm them up the better.' ---------- Tag Thea Baker

[Kaela - Plaza, Prime Camp, Talor City]"Umbrella. I see." Kaela stared at the apparatus for a few more moments, wondering at how such a technologically advanced society would need to rely on something so utterly mundane as this. "Extraordinary," she proclaimed finally, deciding that she would rather have one of these umbrella gadgets than to have to compete with others to be considered important enough for a personal force-field. The simplest solution was often the best one. Any further study or question was cut off, however, when a number of angry Talorians broke through and began to shout abuse at the Federationers. Kaela, unused to such displays of emotion, clutched the strap of her bag to her chest and made a couple of steps backward. T'Rok dropped one of the crates he was moving and stepped in front of her and the Captain. The lieutenant was silent, not speaking words, yet the confusion on his face at being ordered around by the Federation security officer was apparent. "By you?" Kaela asked in return of the man when he asked the odds of talking the mob down, "Low." She began to move around T'Rok, recovering her poise from the initial shock. "Let the others know," she told T'Rok as she passed, fully aware that the staff in the tent would have known about the approaching evacuees before even those outside had, but it was a way to remove potential aggressors. She moved closer towards the shouting people. Her people. She clutched the strap even tighter and cleared her throat once, twice, and spoke. "They are here to help!" She gestured toward Quinn and Lt. Miren, who were trying to gather data in the plaza, and did not deserve to be set upon by ingrates. "Our planet is ailing, and we do not know why. We need help to figure it out and to restore the balance, so we can all go home to our kin."Kaela had a sinking feeling that her words were falling on deaf ears, particularly as one individual decided to start throwing things at her. A half-rotten jumjum fruit flew past her head. Behind the small group of Starfleet personnel a number of soldiers filed out of the tent and lined up in front of it defensively. They had their orders; they'd protect only Primary Camp.

[Prime Camp - Talor City]
When the Bataqs didn't acknowledge their unified and unhappy voices. The anger began to bubble hotter, the ice rain unable to quench their thirst to be heard. They seemed ignorant and oblivious, especially as they began to protect their own as if the Talorians were like something unholy and not to be looked upon. Then one of their own started to speak, claiming that the Bataqs were here to help, before trying to reason with them about the plight of the Talor and why they were here.
Some of his kin weren't willing to listen as one youngling threw jumjum fruit at the scientist. Perhaps that would get their attention before the government soldiers appeared and took up a defensive position. It was obvious to the leader that they didn't care about the people either. However half of the group became fearful especially if brought before the Supreme Leader and backed off, leaving only the leader and four others.
" Why don't they speak for themselves then, instead of hiding. If what you say is true then let them talk and prove they're not here to destroy us!".
If the soldiers came then may the gods look over them but they weren't going anywhere, not yet and continued to throw fruit.
