[Captain Commander Felicity Ellis - XO's Quarters, Front Ear]There'd been three moments in Felicity Ellis' life when she'd known she was in trouble. The first she'd been sixteen, had gotten into the expensive liquor in her parents' cabinet, proceeded to get almost black-out drunk, informed her mother tartly that she was a sociopath and then puked on the couture satin drapes in the hall. The second had been when she'd gotten the call about Cameron, her little brother, and without needing to hear the words had just known that he was gone. And the third was her demotion from Captain to Commander. Stripped of that fourth pip, at the hands of Admiral Antoinette Ellis. And to add insult to injury, she'd been reassigned to the place she'd left as a Captain. There had been positives, of course. She believed she'd done the right thing, and did not regret her actions, even though it had only served to entangle her further in her mother's web. There was a reason she was here; it might not be clear to Felicity yet, but the machinations of Mother Dearest would eventually see the cold, harsh light of day. Until then, she had been reunited with her brother, her closest friend, her godchild and her future niece or nephew. Felicity also had the advantage of knowing the terrain. There'd been some changes on the Station, of course, but it hadn't taken her long to catch up, and she still knew every nook and cranny of the Mac. The Command team was also the same, though this time around she'd be taking orders from them. Felicity was sure that this was another element of her punishment; a greater ego might crumble at the low blow. She glanced around her new quarters on Front Ear. Smaller than her last, but she'd been in charge then. She opened Tjuv's cage and then stepped back, leaving the curious ferret to explore his new home at his own leisure. Dericka was angled jauntily on the coffee table, but the rest of her stuff was still piled next to the door. She took a sip of scalding hot coffee, grimaced at the strength and then focused in on the pile of PADDs on the desk. Some things did not change. "XO's Log, Front Ear Station, insert current stardate.
I’ve been concerned about the reports of civilian disquiet here on the Station. It has become clear that the residents here, those who work here, or have permanent residence, or both, have begun to voice some anti-Fleet sentiment of late. There has been a series of unfortunate events that does go some way toward explaining this; serial killers, sentient plants in the park and of course the return of the Caldonia 5, to name but a few.
My first official act as Executive Officer will be an attempt to mend some of those frayed connections. My peers doubt that this can be achieved, and think me a fool for trying, but at the very least I would like everyone to finish out this day with one new perspective. Empathy is in short supply here of late, and once lost, it can be difficult to rediscover.
I have arranged for a series of team building exercises to take place today, and have invited both crew and some of the more influential civilian contingent to join me. Of course, incentives have been offered, otherwise I suspect only our uniforms would show. Both Captains Baker and Eastman have signed off on a series of personal living upgrades for those who perform well today. It remains to be seen if any of the civilians will make it to the end of the day in order to cash in on those incentives.
Even odds.
End log." [Observation Lounge, Deck 11]Approximately four weeks following the conclusion of Season 2, Mission 5: Pleasure Planet Heist0655 HRSThere was a catering table set up, stacked with various breakfast foods and snacks, with a station for coffee and teas from Earth, Vulcan and a special new blend from Kerelia, to help clear the heads of the early risers. It was an ungodly hour, really, but there was a method to the madness, and Felicity figured that the least she could do was provide fuel to the contestants. Her eyes flickered toward her PADD, checking the clock for the dozenth time since arriving at the Observation Lounge. The space remained relatively empty, with the exception of herself and a couple of crewmen, who had decided to make themselves scarce as soon as they'd realised that they may be conscripted into the madcap, 'touchy-feely' social exercise that the loopy former counselor was pushing on everyone. Idly, her fingers moved toward her collar, feeling the empty space where that fourth pip used to be. Felicity mumbled a curse and walked back to the coffee to refill her mug for the third time.

[Observation Lounge - Deck 11] Life was good, business was good and for one Leanna Mazal she was thankful for the last few weeks. Mainly due to the fact that her best friend had returned to the station and whilst she wasn't happy about the demotion from a certain Admiral. Lea had been very supportive, not to mention catching Flick up on everything she had missed, along with plenty of Ari, Aven and Shadow cuddles. Then of course, she had introduced her to Riyo properly and may of shared with her, the details of their first proper fight and how they had resolved it over cocktails and popcorn shrimp. But the main thing was having their relationship back on track. It was also so good to have Flick home and when she received the invite about the team building exercises that her Bestie had arranged. Well it wasn't difficult not to turn it down as it might be a lot of fun. Riyo was unfortunately scheduled to do his usual shift in the clinic but before he had to report in, was currently looking after Ari and Aven, until he dropped them off at daycare. She loved how they worked as a team and with a promise to tell him all about later, had dressed in black pants, a long sleeveless gothic inspired top and sensible shoes. Then after kisses, Lea had left and gone straight to the Observation Lounge. Upon entering and seeing Flick, Lea smiled despite the early hour and greeted her friend. " Morning and oh good coffee, I definitely need some after Aven kept us up most of the night with the last of his teeth coming through".Riyo had dealt with it like a pro with a homemade remedy, but even then if she could hook the coffee up like an IV then she would. But until then, Lea settled for some of the Kerelian brand and a couple of breakfast foods.

[Ens. Syl O'Connell - Front Ear - Observation Lounge]Syl was, to say the least, not looking forward to this. However, her counselor had been insisting she needed to meet more people, reintegrate into life on the station. So it was with her stomach in knots that she had forced herself out of her quarters and to the Observation Lounge, still hoping that there would be at least someone she already knew there. Unfortunately, as the doors slid open before her, she realized immediately she was not that lucky. Thankfully she could at least make a decent first impression... Her uniform fit her better now that she'd regained the weight she'd lost, and the scars around her neck had faded to be less noticeable beneath the unrelenting tan. Making a beeline for the coffee, she gave a nod of greeting to the two women already present. The one in uniform must be Felicity Ellis... Syl felt the urge to approach her, to thank her for sending the help she did... but as she seemed to be in the middle of a conversation, the young pilot decided now was not the time. So instead, she busied herself with pouring a cup of Earth coffee before stepping off to the side, eyes shifting towards the door, still hoping someone she knew would walk through soon.

[ Kova Sh'qaleq - Observation Lounge, Deck 11] Kova had been up early this morning, though not entirely by choice. It had been weeks since her knee had been injured back on Caldonia, and it seemed to be healed for the most part, but it was aggravatingly 'stiff.' Kova hadn't gone back to Sickbay after walking out that day. However, she wasn't foolish enough to skip medical treatment altogether. So, what she'd done was visit the holosuite, of all places, and for lack of a better word hijacked the stations EMH. She'd made certain to delete its recent memory after each visit and to cover her tracks afterwards as well. It never took long to update her file with each follow-up. For many people, it was probably far too early in the morning to be in a full-on screaming match with a hologram, but it was being unreasonable in Kova's opinion. It wanted to give her something for the pain, but that meant actually going to Sickbay. It's ethical subroutines wouldn't allow it to just stand by while it's patient was 'tortured.' Kova may have threatened to rewrite it's vocal subroutines to sound like a drunken Klingon and linking it to it's core memory. Which would likely force the entire program to be overhauled. Timing eventually forced them both back to their corners. Primarily, the fact that Kova had another appointment. The Andorian had almost hit delete when she got the invite, but it was only one reason she hadn't: the person that sent it. It was only fair to give Felicity Ellis a chance to be heard. She had, after all, been one of the few to effectively work to engineer the Caldonia Five's actual escape from Caldonia. And she had also paid a price for her part in that. So, the Andorian would at least hear her out, but she didn't feel that she owed Ellis anything more than that. As the Andorian entered the lounge, she could see that there weren't very many people there at all. Her eyes scouted the room for the optimal place to stand, as there didn't seem to be much in the way of places to sit. Practical... and ideal for when people decided that they'd had their fill and were prepared to walk out. The Andorian was used to eyes glancing in her direction, as well as the quick aversion of the crewmen's eyes when she noticed them looking. Kova settled on a corner adjacent to an exit. She leaned against the wall, crossing her arms in front of chest as she stood there. As her eyes made contact, the Andorian was selective about whom she decided to acknowledge with an actual nod. Ellis seemed to be engaged with the owner of the bar, Leanna Mazal. They were probably talking small, as humans did. And Betazoid were like humans, but talked even when their lips weren't moving. It was easy enough to overhear the mention of children. Not a topic Kova cared to entertain. And then, there was Syl. Someone Kova could... tolerate. Still, the Andorian didn't make a move to announce her own presence. Just in case she decided to make an early exit.

[Dr. Hunt’s Personal Log] Dr. Hunt’s Medical Log, Stardate Supplemental,
Adjusting to my new home has been, challenging to say the least. I am still getting used to day-to-day life and being on a Starbase. There are many things that I have struggled to catch up on from basic things from entertainment to having families onboard Starfleet Ships. It’s interesting to see how time has changed. And as some things are different other things remain the same. The tension between the civilization populations and Starfleet personnel is a tale old as time. However, just because those tension has existed does not mean that we can’t do anything about it. Luckily, our new XO has organized some activity between civilians and officers. Honestly, I know very little of our new XO; there is a rumor that there was a Captain beforehand. Although asking her directly might be ill-advised. I hope that the event goes smoothly and my services as a doctor are not needed. On the bright side, I hope to enjoy one day outside a sick bay a little variation. It’s always a good choice. Log out [Observation Lounge – Deck 11] Hunt entered in uniform to his assignment of the day. He was looking forward to doing something different for the day; however, he was still concerned about his patients. As much as medicine is a science, it also an art as every single individual body is different. But sometimes, you are expected to get out of sickbay and interact with the civilian population. After all, no one ever visits a doctor to say hi it mostly is when something goes wrong. As he entered, he observed the catering table full of breakfast and snacks. It seems by the look of it they would be doing some physical activities. Hunt observed as there was a Civilian talking to the XO and decided to leave them alone. After all, he did not have much to discuss outside of duty rosters and medical updates on individuals in the crew and their expectation to return to active duty. He also observed the Ensign that he had read her Medical Records heading to the coffee stations. Dr. Hunt was not the primary physician on her case, but sometimes the Senior Medical Staff gets briefed on the unusual situation or takes a more holistic approach. Not very interesting topics Hunt though. As the rumor was, she was the former CO, and, logically, she has friends on the Station. Hunt was still scanning the room as he also observed an Andorian whom he did not know who it was. He observed the Androrian with his arm crossed and in a defensive position. Approaching him out of the blue, (no pun intended) might be ill advised. Hunt thought that the purpose of the exercise was to interact with the civilian population and get to know them and you work with that via communication. The Doctor figured that the time of the day bothered some people. However, he was accused of working on different shifts at different times. So, this is nothing more than changing a shift or covering for another medical doctor. The Doctor approached the drink area. He observed as the Ensign poured coffee. The Doctor then picked up orange juice and poured some into his glass. “ Good morning ensign; how are you feeling today?” Hunt inquired as he smiled and looked at her reaction for any clues. It did not look around much until he asked " Do you know who is our Andorian friend over there? It's a shame to leave him alone" Hard Syl O'Connell

[Eta Borir - Quarter -> Observation Lounge - Deck 11)
Eta was back at Front Ear Station, but still thinking about the incident in the Festival of Lights. The fact that the murder had been committed by a half-Cardassian infuriated her - to say the least. It had always been said that half-Cardassians were not accepted by the Cardassian state and were oppressed. And why, Do Tollame or whatever this ridiculous Gul was called, had impressively proven. And once again she wondered why she had not chosen the military path and gone to the Cardassian military academy. Or why she had not taken advantage of her position as the daughter of a gul. Snorting, the Cardassian went to the closet and rummaged through it. Moments later, a few civilian clothes flew out of the closet and onto the bed, carpet and other furniture. Eta grumbled quietly to herself. "What the hell," she threw away a blouse. " ..Something like that is..." a pair of jeans flew after it. " So, on Cardassia they call that a fashion sin," she cursed, but then found the matching piece. Finally she decided on a combination of black trousers, boots and jeans jacket with a simple top. She opened her hair and let it fall over her shoulder. When she looked at herself in the mirror, the Cardassian hissed a little, and pulled her blouse down until it really fits. One could now clearly see the spoon in her décolleté, and slight beginnings of dandruff that stretched down her chest on both sides. This was a nice Cardassian neckline. And then there was the new mission. Eta would go to give her crippled social skills a chance to flourish, even if she knew it was pointless. She is and remains a Cardassian. She read through the mission description again, and snorted. How much of a human being do you have to be to come up with an idea like that? The Cardassian pushed her way through the corridors, and with every person who looked at her in an unfriendly way, her desire to spoil the day for every single one of them increased. Or those who looked at her as if they had never seen a Cardassian in their lives. Finally, she arrived in the lounge and took a breath before standing close enough to the motion detector to open the door. Her gaze slid through the already somewhat accumulated throng of people, all so far human. Although...one Andorian was among them. At the sight of this blue figure, the corners of Eta's mouth shot up faster than a Borg cube ever could. Those antennae were cute. She looked around a bit, discovered people she didn't know. And she discovered Syl. The only person the Cardassian trusted at least a little bit. But she seemed to be engrossed in conversation right now, so Eta walked over to the replicator and tapped gently against it. "Computer, Cardassian Sunrise," she ordered, and immediately took the glass from the device on which it materialized. Then she put the glass to her lips, and tipped the first sip of it into her mouth as she looked around again. Everyone seemed to be doing something, except the Andorian. Well, it's about time to see how many nerves these blue individuals have. Eta smilingly set a direct course for the Andorian woman " Hi, I hope I'm not interrupting anything."

[ Cwm Eliska Bremmer - Observation Lounge, Deck 11, Front Ear Station ][/b] What is it with me and drawing mandatory fun details, one Eliska Bremmer found herself wondering. Yet again, she'd been selected to represent the department at some feel-good event that was supposed to be there to tighten the ties between the Civilian and Starfleet contingents on the station, and there she was yet again. But, as a Crewman, hers was not to reason why, but to do and cry so when the order had come the evening before, she had given a good and crisp 'Aye Chief' and made her peace with it. When morning had come about, she was on time. Which was to say, fifteen minutes ahead of the official timing because if one was five minutes early, they really were ten minutes late. When she had arrived, the room was still being assembled, and then a slim Commander walked in. Ellis? Now, her she did not know beyond the one operation together, but the scuttlebutt had it that she used to command the AO... as a Captain. That certainly was interesting, and if she was still here in a red shirt rather than managing some non-operational facility in exile somewhere said a few things all right... like that she was too good to bench her in some backwater, but still had to be slapped down for some reason. But, that was so far above her pay grade, she was happy letting the senior officers play their games, so long as she could do her job. Though, as people filed in, Eliska spotted someone in particular, and before long she was walking towards her, just Grossman Lieutenant Hunt, MD, was speaking to her. However, officers or not, this was not truly a hard-duty situation, it was still somewhat social, so she pushed her luck and came in much closer, and just touched the Ensign's elbow, the one free from a cup of coffee of course. "Hey Syl," she said softly, before looking towards the physician. "Doctor."

[Jurgha, daughter of Khar & Lt Shavan Th’zhaar - Observation Lounge]
It was a fine morning to crush this silly little competition! Jurgha was already imagining how she would arrange the luxurious new quarters. Anyone who dared oppose her would be sorry. She strode through the doors to the lounge, ready for the day. Passing up on the weak Earth food, she crossed her arms and waited for everyone to arrive and things to begin.
A few steps behind the Klingon woman, Shavan entered and in contrast went straight to the breakfast table. It far to early to do much else until he had a coffee in hand. Which he then drank quietly while surveying the people already gathered, and considering who to talk to. In truth, he would much prefer to get this over with. He had enough to do with his recent return to full active duty, with an increased workload than before. However, it was thanks to those events that he was determined to put in an appearance and effort nonetheless.

{Quotes} [Observation Lounge - Deck 11] Upon entering and seeing Flick, Lea smiled despite the early hour and greeted her friend. [Felicity Ellis - Observation Lounge, Deck 11]"Oh no, poor Aven!" Felicity commiserated, though she was pleased to see her friend. It would be a difficult first day, for so many reasons, and she was glad to have a familiar face there in support of what she was trying to achieve, and what she had to face after her demotion. She stepped aside to let Leanna in at the Kerelian blend, before raising her mug to take a sip of her own. She paused, a thought occurring to her, "Or should I saw poor you and Riyo." As sore and cranky as the baby might be, she was sure the adults looking after him would feel similarly. She looked up and nodded in response to a few other arrivals, noting them as they entered, drawing on her memory from the evening before and her long trip to Front Ear, spent poring over the crew records. Ensign O'Connell - an easy one. Hard to miss that one, her face was one of the most well known ones in the quadrant, thanks to being falsely imprisoned in a Caldonian pit. She was followed by Kova Sh'qaleq, who was even more recognisable. Kova had been with O'Connell, and also happened to be related to Captain Shry'li Sh'tarrin, who Felicity had encouraged to pay an opportune visit to Caldonia. The Andorian also had skills that had been in high demand before she'd been captured. A brow arched ever so slightly at the sight of a Cardassian. This must be Eta, relatively new addition as far as Felicity was aware. She did not know what function the civilian served aboard the Station, but she had accepted the invitation and that was enough for the Commander. Dr. Jonathan Hunt followed, whose records Felicity had read with some disbelief and interest. It might be useful to have medical personnel close by, just in case things didn't go quite according to plan. Did they ever? Eliska Bremmer was one she recognised, having recently completed an undercover mission with her. She fervently hoped that she and the other uniforms wouldn't complain too much about being there. A crew that had no cohesion weren't really a crew at all, and not people she'd want to be in the trenches with. And speaking of trenches, the third member of the Caldonia 5 to arrive, Shavan Th'zhaar, newly minted Assistant Chief of Science. They were two short of the full pack. It was true what she'd heard then; they liked to stick together. Jurgha, another staple from the heist swept in like she owned the room and the day, and Felicity found herself fervently hoping that she would. "I suppose I'd better kick things off," she muttered in an aside to Leanna, before stepping away, the ghost of a smirk pulling her lips. "Wish me luck."
She'd need it. She moved toward the centre of the room and began to speak. "Thank you all for being here."Once the chatter and background noise died down to a manageable level, she continued. "I'm Commander Ellis, and I'm your new XO. One of my duties is to ensure that the crew is happy and whole, and functions well as a unit when required. I've found that's proving difficult to do here on the Station, due to some issues between the civilian population and the Fleet officers posted here. There's been a breakdown in relations between us, and while that's understandable, if we're all to live together here, we owe it to ourselves - each of us, to see if we can make things more tolerable."She placed her mug down on a nearby table as her gaze swept the room. She made sure to spare a glance for each one of them. She was serious about this, about trying, anyway, and she wanted that to come across. "If that's not enough of an incentive for you to play along with my madness, then perhaps an upgrade or two might do the trick. Want some extra space for that art studio? Playroom for the spawn? Second bedroom for the mother in law?" Her arms opened wide, gesticulating along with her own enthusiasm. "Or maybe something else, something less ambitious, but equally as interesting. A former CMO I served with once swore by his water shower. You could ask for an old-fashioned, claw tub, and sit in it until you become a prune. A kitchen! A fully-equipped, Cook It Yourself, burn the Station down, kitchen." She shrugged, she had no idea why anyone would want to make that kind of work for themselves, but she personally knew a lot of people who dug it. She pulled a PADD from it's secure spot in her waistband and held it up. "Requests are approved..." Her tone turned from sales pitch, to something lighter, more playful. "For the winners."
"Rules are as follows: One! You start together, you finish together. All members of your team must be present and accounted for at the end, or nobody wins the prize. This is all about teamwork, so you work as a team. Two!" She started counting off on her fingers as she began to pace. "You cannot leave the Station. Three! On this adventure, you will encounter officers and civilians alike, who are following my instructions. Be polite. If I hear of anyone getting shirty with my helpers, you're done and it's an instant fail for your team. Four! First team back to me with all objects wins. Simple."
"Now, the teams are as follows! Team A! Feel free to rename yourselves, by the way - Team A will be Jonathan Hunt, Eliska Bremmer, Jurgha, daughter of Khar and Candy Barr. Team B, you are Ensign Ic Arbrell, Kova Sh'qaleq and Lieutenant Shavan Th'zhaar. Team C! Team C will be Leanna Mazal, Ensign Syl O'Connell and Eta." She looked up from the PADD, mostly to check if she'd missed anyone. There was no sign of a couple of participants, but it was early, and she'd give a ten minute grace period. "Okay go and meet your teammates. I'll be around with your team's instructions shortly."She stepped back, signalling the end of her lengthy introduction, and moved toward the duffel she'd left near the catering tables. From within she pulled out a stack of mini-PADDs, each loaded with information on the teams, a copy of the rules, a map of the Station and the first set of instructions.

[Observation Lounge - Deck 11] Leanna certainly appreciated the words of commiseration from Flick as her Bestie stepped aside in order for Lea to pour a cup of delicious caffeine filled nectar. Grinning slightly as Flick then mentioned her and Riyo. " Something like that, but Aven thinks it's all a game" she replied, as the others began to arrive. There were a couple that she recognised and even those who didn't know, were still greeted with a warm and friendly smile. Then Lea took advantage of the moment to drink some coffee, until Flick was ready to address the room. Sending positive and supportive thoughts as her friend asked her to wish her luck. " Good luck, not that you need it, but I'm here" she said softly as Flick spoke to those present. Giving her friend her full attention throughout, whilst being a reassuring presence as she introduced herself, explained the incentives of the game, the rules and announced the teams. Offering Flick a warm smile as she finished, Lea then approached her fellow team members and greeted them. " Hi there, this should be a lot of fun".

[Ens. Syl O'Connell - Front Ear - Observation Lounge]A few others she did know entered the room after her, but before she could do any more than wave, she was approached by a doctor she hadn't met yet. At his question to her well-being, she merely shrugged. "Well as can be expected." Taking another drink of coffee, when he asked about the Andorian and not leaving 'him' alone, at first she thought he was referring to Shavan, whom had also made a beeline for the coffee. A quick glance, however, proved he was looking in the entirely wrong direction for that to be the case... And followed his gaze across the room, where Kova was still standing by the door. For a moment Syl just blinked, staring at the Andorian for a little longer than usual, trying to figure out just what it was about her that said 'male'. "That's Kova. She usually prefers being left alone," she answered after a moment. Seeing a Cardassian enter and start talking to said loner, Syl continued. "We may need to rescue Eta in a few minutes though... "Another sip of coffee, and she felt a light touch on her elbow from behind her. Instinctively stepping away from the touch, she turned to face the person. Upon seeing Eliska, her face lit up in a smile, and she apologized for the withdrawal by giving the other woman a brief hug. "Hey! Sorry, I didn't see you..." They didn't have time for anything else, however, as Commander? Ellis started to address them. Syl listened carefully as the rules were explained, then the teams listed. At least she was with one person she knew... Though she envied Shavan and Kova being assigned together. With a small sigh she drained the last of her coffee and disposed the mug, bidding Eliska a 'good luck' before moving over to Eta. A woman she assumed was Leanna joined them, and Syl gave a shrug at her comment. "If you say so," she replied with a small smile.

[Observation Lounge – Deck 11] Hunt took another sip of his orange juice as Crewmen Bremmer approached. As she greeted them, Jonathan slightly nodded as a form of greeting and acknowledgment. “ Crewmen, pleasure seeing you here this lovely morning” Hunt responded. The Doctor did not mind formalities too much and he felt it was important that no one had any fear to talk to him. He was first a doctor and the rank was a mere formality. “ Y’know these types of team building and relationship building activities remind me of the Academy” Hunt added. As it was common for them to work together in simulations because teamwork was paramount in Starfleet. His attention then turned to the Ensign which gave him a quick response about her well-being. Her response was understandable. The Doctor thought it was wise not to ask any follow-up questions. As she mentioned the Andorian and giving information about Kova. He was a little confused as he observed multiple Andorians on the deck and he had not seen that many of them in one location since his days at the Academy. “ I’ll keep that in mind, Ensign” Hunt responded as he got information and since he was a relative outsider it would be understandable that people did not want to talk to him too much. As the XO spoke Hunt placed the remainder of his Orange Juice on the table. He listened to the instruction and the basic set of rules. As tempting as the price of winning is, the objective is to improve relations, and as long as that was accomplished it would be mission accomplished and objectives done. He listened to the rules and figured that he would be in Team A. Along with Crewmen Bremmer, Jurgha the Klingon woman that was part of his last mission but had not formally met her, and lastly another person named Candy Barr who he had no idea who she was. Before they broke up, Hunt turned to the Ensign and told her “ Good Luck, Ensign” Hunt said and he began to walk away from the table. In a moment of self-reflection, Hunt turned to Crewmen Bremmer. “ Crewmen, Ummm, I don’t know how to say this but I barely know these individuals. Please let me know If I am doing a mistake. But I look forward working with you.” Hunt added. He was not sure as the insecurity of being out of place. Hunt then raised his hand and said “ Team A”. He took the initiative of moving to an empty area in the room away from individuals as a place in which they can meet up. It was standard in group projects in which they meet and greet people to break down and meet with the group. He waited until the group would eventually show up and Hunt would say “ Welcome Team A, my name is Doctor Jonathan Hunt. Jonathan is fine. A little of what I do, I am a Medical Officer in Starfleet. And um…I look forward to working with all of you and getting to know all of you better.” He finished as he hopes someone else introduced themselves. He hope that he sounded diplomatically. {Quoted Posts} [Eta Borir - Observation Lounge - Deck 11)
[...] Finally, she arrived in the lounge and took a breath before standing close enough to the motion detector to open the door. Eta smilingly set a direct course for the Andorian woman " Hi, I hope I'm not interrupting anything." [Felicity Ellis - Observation Lounge, Deck 11]
[...]
[ Kova Sh'qaleq - Observation Lounge, Deck 11] As she stood there, Kova's antennae twitched slightly as she sensed someone moving towards her. A side glance revealed that the newest Cardassian resident, a woman called Eta Borir had taken it upon herself to engage the Andorian. Kova took a very audible deep breath, making no attempt to conceal her annoyance as she turned to face the Cardassian. When she spoke, she was what humans would consider polite. A simple greeting accompanying a hope that she wasn't intruding. "You are," Kova answered matter of factly. "Of course, it was your intention to do so, the moment you decided to approach. Whatever I was actively or passively doing, was of a lesser regard to your greeting." There may have been a bit more that Kova was going to say, but it was about that time that Commander Ellis began to address the room. The Andorian shifted her gaze towards the commander as she spoke. At first, it sounded as if it was something that Kova would possibly excuse herself. This talk of issues between civilians and Fleeters. That much was obvious from the way people had self-separated themselves when entering the room. The uniforms seemed to coagulate while civilians naturally herded together. The only exception to that that Kova had witnessed had been the commander and Leanna. Of course, they had been friends for some time from what Kova had heard. What did intrigue Kova, however, was the mention of competition. Not necessarily the prize, though it seemed like a decent incentive. It was the actual competition itself. The Andorian listened carefully to the rules, certain there was some sort of hidden disadvantage embedded within. What was the commander saying... but not saying? Then, came the mention of the teams. Kova found herself sorted with one person she was quite familiar with, Shavan. The other an ensign scientist with whom she was not. She was curious whether they were allowed to trade. If so, then Syl would be the obvious choice. Kova, Shavan and Syl had certainly worked well in the past, and would probably crush any competition. It was probably for that reason that the three weren't paired together. Yet, why not split them completely? What exactly were Ellis' motivations for this exercise? Kova turned to Eta once more. "It seems this is where we part ways," she said as she began to walk off. She moved in the general direction of the pair of scientists, still dissecting the rules. Essentially, they were: 1) teamwork... 2) don't leave the station... 3) be polite (that was directed at her personally)... and 4) be quick. "I hear congratulations are in order," she said with a slight smile and nod. She then looked in the direction of the other scientist. "I am Kova." One may have thought the temperature lowered a few degrees as she introduced herself.

[Eta Borir - Lounge, Deck 11] Wait a minute ... what? Eta tipped her Sunrise completely into her mouth while Kova spoke, then focused her pupils back on the Andorian and realized that it wasn't the Andorian who needed nerves, but Eta herself. But Cardassians got into awkward situations and got out of them. At least, most of them did. Eta nodded once and then used all her non-existent charm. "I thank you for this conversation. I am sure we will have the opportunity to talk again sometime.". Whether she was serious or not, she didn't know. But she wasn't going to be shaken off as easily as a few fruit flies in the fruit bowl.
Well, Eta couldn't really complain about the group composition. Syl knew her, and Leanna....not. But what isn't can still be. She walked at a good walking pace to Syl, who had already headed in her direction. In tow was Leanna. "Hey Ladies" she greeted informally, grinning a little again as she folded her arms behind her back. Slowly her cheeks were hurting. "You know my name. Eta Borir."

[ Jurgha, daughter of Khar - Observation Lounge] Jurgha listened as the new Starfleet Commander announced the rules of the game and gave out team assignments. She had no idea who this “Candy Barr” was (was that even a real name?), but the other two humans were familiar. Eliska Bremmer she had met on tour of Kerelia a couple months ago, and more recently during the mission on Torus. Jonathan Hunt, she recalled, had been there as well. The heist had been a success in the end, so she found the idea of teaming up with both of them to be tolerable enough. She crossed the room to where Hunt was waving them over. “Jurgha,” she replied simply to the medical officer’s introduction. “…Security consultant.”Jonathan Hunt Eliska Bremmer _________ [Lt Shavan Th’zhaar - Observation Lounge] Shavan had already started to walk towards Kova when everyone paused to listen to Commander Ellis speak. He hadn’t expected the other Andorian to be there, though she was a welcome sight. Personal relationship aside, she was someone he'd rather have on his team than against in any situation. Since Ensign Abrell was in his department, Shavan knew he should try to get to know him as well. This seemed like a good enough place to start, so really he could not object to either teammate. He fell into place beside Kova with grin. “Thanks,” he replied to her congratulations, taking another sip of coffee before they were joined by the third member of their team. “Good morning, Ensign,” he greeted the Betazoid politely, with a friendly smile.
