[Valkyries - Outside Flight Control] Despite them being involved in a game, it was nice to be able to talk to Niamh, however brief it was and when she answered about the Fry. Leanna grinned and knew that both Jack and Seamus would be happy to see the Chief. " No problem at all, I know two people who'd be happy to see you" Lea replied as Eta and Syl agreed with her suggestion. Although the grin never left her lips as Niamh then told Syl to win this as they left the Chief with her hangover. Finding somewhere to sit, the Betazoid was happy to be off her feet, even if it wasn't for long. Slipping her shoes off as Syl unlocked the next clue, Lea then listened as she told them what it was. Feeling slightly stumped but at the same time, relished the challenge and if this one was aimed at Eta, then she was confident that they could work it out. "Sounds as though the first part could be armor?" Lea, offered helpfully. " Then again I could be wrong and I have to admit, it's good to have this extra time to figure this one out. Gives us a chance to talk a little more, tell me what do you both like to do when you're not taking part in team exercises ?".They were a team after all and it made sense for them to get to know one another, especially when they needed to get a small step back so they weren't rushing off to the wrong place.

[...]Ic approached it with caution, respect, feeling a little of the heat in his cheeks change from now to here, a moment in his hands— and he remembered through a haze of heavy blue, Leanna telling him about the dragons and the extradimensional aliens… if she could do this, he could. He talked to cats at home, and had had an imaginary friend as a child when visiting his father at his star base; as an adult, he come to assume it was another telepath, but now he didn’t know. The voice had never had a name. “Okay. Um. Dear plant.” Was this right? “I’m wondering if you can help us?” Did it need to be beseeched or begged, maybe implored? “My friends and I are looking for something. A message of some kind? An item? The last thing was an item. Do you… know anything about that? Or have you seen—sensed—anything very recently that seemed out of the ordinary?”He glanced back to his team for anything they might want to add, as if they could hear him talking to the plant. Honestly, for all he knew, they could. Jovireh Velal Shavan Th'zhaar Kova Sh'qaleq ['Unique' - Front Ear - Park]It stirred from its slumber as three sources of heat approached. People, it had learned to recognize. One it could feel, the others it could not. Petals folded closed and the bud tilted downward to face the one it could feel. The one that spoke to it. "Hello. You are new." It stated perhaps the obvious, but it had been some time since someone approached that it had not already conversed with. As the question was posed to it, the bud tilted as if in thought, the vines constricting tighter around the object they held. "An object was left before the darkness, though I was not given any message, or told to give the object away." Indeed, it had not been told anything, and had no way of knowing if it was the object they sought. "I protect it."There was a stirring not far away, an increase in energy that made its vines condense into a more solid barrier around its stalk. A fourth heat source - Person - had approached, and the Talkative One's companions did not seem to approve of its presence. It said nothing more, waiting for more information.

[Eta Borir - Main Hanger] Eta crossed her legs, and listened intently as Syl read out the clue "I have to admit it doesn't ring a bell right away," she confessed, but had a rough idea. It wasn't an incredible flash of gesture, but it was going in a direction. "I'm wearing boots," she informed tersely, looking at the shoes of her companions. "Don your suit on to go into battle. Yeah, this could mean armor. But since we are here at the Hanger, it could also mean spacesuits. What do you think?". Yes, brainstorming wasn't exactly Eta's incredible strength, but it was probably the most effective way to gather some ideas. Leanna's last question actually irritated the Cardassian a bit. Of course they were a team, but was she serious? Now? Fine. "It depends on the day. Some days I go to a holosuite, some days I just stay in my quarters. On days like that, I browse the database and read a good novel," she gave as an answer, trying to put at least a little effort into her answer so that people wouldn't assume she had no hobbies. That wasn't the case, of course, but if she didn't have anything real to do in a day, she didn't really get anything done.

[ Jurgha, daughter of Khar - Turbolift -> Medical Storage 2] With nothing more to say to Candy at the moment, Jurgha answered Hunt's request for recommendations. She was still relatively new herself, but had managed to find a few places that she found tolerable. “Take me Gagh has just about the only food worth eating. If you are up for it.” The last part was a thinly veiled reminder of their agreement later. "And of course, you can make any place worth going to in the holosuites."She stayed back, arms crossed, as they finally arrived in the medical facility and found Petty Officer Gates. An unimpressive looking human, though at least he saw fit to give them the clue without unnecessary conversation. After the doctor took it, she stepped forward to read the clue for herself. This time it was Eliska who was ready with an answer, and after considering it Jurgha found herself in agreement. “Alright, let’s go.” She gestured for Eliska to lead the way again. [Ens. Syl O'Connell - Front Ear - Main Hangar]Syl scowled as she stared down at the clue in her hand. Armor made sense with the first line... But she'd never seen anyone on the station wearing armor. EV suits made more sense with the location, but less with the clue. It definitely sounded like their next clue would be in a boot, but what kind of boot? She was so focused on trying to figure it out, she barely heard Lea's question about what they do in their spare time. Eta listed the holosuites and reading in her quarters, and Syl nodded her agreement. "Same, basically." She was fairly certain she and the Cardassian had different ideas of what they considered entertaining, but the basics were the same. And the details weren't the question. "Should we check the EV suits first, then the armory if we don't find it?" She asked the others, since no other idea was coming to her mind. The young pilot stood and stretched, loosening the muscles that weren't used to so much walking. Her gaze returned to Leanna. "So what's your story with the Spotty Alibi?" If she was going to insist they all get to know each other, they might as well keep the conversation interesting.

[Valkyries - Main Hangar] It wasn't difficult to pick up the irritation coming from Eta after the Cardassian had offered up her own suggestions about the clue, before Lea had tried to be sociable with her team. As far as Lea was concerned this was an integral part of the exercise, even if that sentiment wasn't completely shared by the others. Although the Betazoid did appreciate the effort that Eta put into answering her and told her as much. " That's good to know and not unlike what I do, so thank you and it could very well be spacesuits" Lea replied warmly as Syl also responded with a similar answer. Of course it was a start, before she asked if they should try searching the EV suits then move onto the armory if the next clue wasn't there. Considering the suggestion, Lea had no issue with doing that, especially as this clue was a little more tricky. Lea relished the challenge it presented them as Syl then asked about the Spotty Alibi. " I think we should as it's a good place to start, as for my story with the Alibi, it's where I met my partner Riyo or you may know him as Doctor Paawin". Putting her shoes back on, Lea then got up and prepared to go look over the EV suits, hoping that Syl knew exactly where they were located.

[Medical Storage] Hunt in his rush did no realize that the Petty Officer was doing inventory. As he dropped the PADD he looked at it on the ground. He felt slightly bad for his lack of observation and for interrupting him. He gave them the clue with little conversation. Hunt looked at the man and merely said “ Thank you, and I apologize for the interruption”. He would have liked to talk to the man more and maybe get to know him but he was focused on the inventory and they needed to head towards the next clue. As the PADD was given to them he read it as well. He read the clue carefully and started thinking. All rise. Make your case and win your prize, Fail and it disappears before your eyes. He first listened to Eliska as she offered her suggestion that it was a courtroom. In his mind, he also started to look at alternatives. Like a Zero-G area of the Station, however, it seems likely that a Courtroom is more correct. It also seemed Jurgha was also in agreement to head with Eliska’s choice. With two team members in agreement and communication, Hunt smiled as they were turning out to be a team. He nodded in agreement and followed Eliska to the Turbolift. [Turbolift] As Hunt entered the Turbolift he observed the conversation how Candy got a Hard no about the Cuban Cigars. “Did you know that Cigars which is made out of Tobacco, originally was considered a medicinal plant? Even today, research shows that it still has medicinal qualities such as protection of the brain and nervous systems for humans. I assume you are a human female?” Hunt asked Candy. He was positive but not sure they were plenty of humanoid-looking creatures and mixed races to be sure. “ You know if you import Cuban Tabaco Leaves for Medicinal Purposes you don’t have to smuggle anything,” Hunt said in the Turbolift and then smiled “ And you know it’s not illegal to roll them yourselves”. Hunt finished his statement with a smile as he hoped that she got the hint. She tried to do it her way, but as he said before when you are stuck with a problem sometimes the solution lies in solving the program in a completely different way. He smiled and gave a small chuckle as the irony of the situation was not lost on him. The civilian wanted to import something and save money illegally but in turn, he offered the Medicinal role which made it completely legal. He wanted to pick up his conversation with Jurgha since they had time to kill on the Turbolift. “Interesting, Take Me Gagh. You know, I have never had Gagh before? What’s the best way to eat it?” Hunt asked. He thought it was Strange that a Federation Station served Klingon food. On his time the Klingons and the Federation were in an uneasy truce. It was not until the ship that he was assigned, the U.S.S. Enterprise C with some of his classmates died that cemented their relationship. He wondered if he was still on his time would he had died with them? He remained quiet as he could not help but his eyes water a little bit. The Truth is he missed his time and he missed home and his friends. It had been hard for him to make friends on the Station and the ship. “ You know, I have also never used the Holodeck. I researched about it for a mission, but I know the theory but I and this might sound silly scared to use it.” Hunt said with a smile in a moment of honesty. The man was scared that if he recreated his old-time, the old uniforms he might not want to leave. “ I’m sorry if that sounded weird,” He said as he knew that their conversation. He turned to Eliska and commented “ Good Job on the clue, see being Voluntold is not that bad. We are having fun here right?” He said with a smile as he wanted to change the conversation to something more uplifting. [Courtroom] Hunt followed Eslika to the courtroom as he stood aside something to tell him that this was Eliska’s main clue and another one would follow. It would probably be dependent on Jurgha’s skill. Candy, himself, and now Eliska each did a major part and they needed all of them to complete the mission. [Eehir Digen & Jalud Sunn - Main Flight Hangar]The turbolift doors whooshed open with their signature sound, and that was quickly followed by two heavy bootfalls of two Bajoran men. Once they caught sight of the trio of teammates, they walked with purpose toward them. An uncommon sight, perhaps in this corridor, but not too strange for two in plain clothes to be visiting the hangar. They had as much right or reason to be there as the others, and they knew it. The smaller of the two had a long, hook shaped scar that ran from the corner of his mouth and disappeared beneath a receding hairline. The other, younger and at least a head taller than his companion, had striking pale grey eyes, and walked with a noticeable limp. Both of them had concealed weapons beneath their clothes; visible by those who knew what to look for, and evidenced by an unshapely lump beneath their sweaters. They checked the corridor, ensuring that there was nobody else to see or overhear the little exchange they'd planned. "Hey, you," the smaller one snarled, staring straight at Eta. "Where are you going?" They kept moving until they were almost upon the small team.

[Hot Candy - En Route to Courtroom]Candy had heard the saying 'All rise' before, though only ever in holonovels. She personally had never been in trouble with the law. Well, she'd almost been in trouble a couple of times, but managed to wriggle her way out of it, such was her impressive charm. She followed the others as they got underway again, but after a couple of words uttered, she found herself truly enrapt with what Jonathan was saying. She stared off into the distance for a few moments, then a slow, curving smile pulled her lips upwards, as if she'd just figured something very important out. One normally had such epiphanies in the shower, or mid-bumping uglies; not so much in a turbolift. But that didn't matter, because Candy felt like she'd just won something, and she didn't have to play this ridiculous treasure hunt game for it, either. "Well now, aren't you just full of surprises, Jonny?" She beamed at him. "How'd you get so smart."She tuned out the chatter about gagh and whatever basic thing the barn girl was saying, and began doing a little silent calculation. ["The Hon. Judge" Maria Callas - Courtroom 1, Deck S5]Maria Callas was not really a judge, but so far this was the most interesting role she'd played since arriving on the Station. She looked excellent in her ceremonial robes. Her dark hair was pulled back into a neat bun, and her hand was wrapped around a gavel. When her audience arrived, a real life security officer cleared his throat and called, "All rise! The Honourable Judge Maria Callas presiding."He then gestured toward a desk and bench and began to usher the four very different and likely unsuspecting people to their places. She became The Judge. She tried to affect a bored expression, though it came off as pained, perhaps even constipated. "Be seated," she commanded in clipped tones as she sat down in her special throne herself. "Now. Listen up, all of you. This is how this is going to go down. And we're going to do it right, quickly and in time for my lunch date."She checked her PADD and began listing off names. "Dr. Jonathan Hunt. Jurgha, daughter of Khar. Candy Barr." She broke off for a moment, frowned and then looked up. "Is that your real name? How unfortunate." She gave herself a little shake, and then continued. "Eliska Bremmer." She looked up again, eyes finding each one in turn. "You have all been charged with being undeserving of this glorious prize. You now have ten minutes to nominate one of your team to represent your interests to the court. They will then try to convince me of your worthiness to proceed."Random civilians and even a couple of uniformed officers began to file in, grins broad and eyes full of mischief. They sat down in the courtroom seats and settled in for a spectacle. One even began munching on some popcorn.

[Park, Front Ear] Ic all but pouted at Kova’s assertion, trying to ignore the impulse to explain himself that that was not what he had been thinking until it was brought up, he was the mind-reader, not her, and also just because one grows up in a particular environment it doesn’t preclude them from developing outside or contrary interests thank you very much— but said nothing. It was plant time. To be glad something didn’t have eyes was a funny (as in droll) sort of feeling. He searched the plant for them when it moved its attention and its bud down at him; he could feel its attention on him prickle with comfort, like laying in grass on a clear summer’s day. Among that day, that field, that ken, the Betazoid found only petals there, only it self. But although it didn’t have eyes to avoid, it didn’t recognize him either. Ic couldn’t help but smile, sure that the plant could sense that, too. Hang on, had the Lieutenant just thought of him as cute— ? (Later!) “—yeah. Sounds like nothing gets by you, does it?”The ensign traced the plant’s uncertainty through every vine and out the tip of each thorn as it curled inward, careful with its unknown prize. He supposed its instinct was rational, to keep the object until the giver came to take. Was this morality in an herb he’d come to witness? Should he have been writing this down? He shifted on his knees, and tried to pull conviction from the green. “There is a philosophy of interpretation that I learned in school,” he told it gently. “If the rules don't say you can’t, you must assume you can. And the person who gave you the item sent me to get it from you. I’ll... have lunch with you tomorrow in exchange. What do you— ”A sudden flare of intensity from behind him seized his lungs, and Ic doubled a little before turning over his shoulder toward the source. Kova and Shavan were engaged, and rather critically, with a— what was this person, a Calphalon?— selling chicken? Ic Arbrell was the crown prince of two for flinching, but something stirred in his guts, something not wholly his own, that he could not ignore. “Would you excuse me a moment, dear plant? I have to help my friends, I think one of them might get a disciplinary hearing in a moment if I don’t. Consider the offer while I’m gone!”He scrambled to his feet and toward the scuffle between his team and the vendor, stepping up behind Shavan perhaps a little closer than normal— to get a better read on the situation, of course. “Sir? Can I… be of assistance here...?”Is she going to kill him? was heavily implied. I’ve never seen anyone die before and I don’t want this to be the first time was less emphasized. The rest was body language, though it stuttered.

[ Shavan Th’zhaar - Park] Ic still looked flustered, and nervous about ‘talking’ to the plant, so Shavan gave him an encouraging smile. “It’ll be fine.” He had no idea what happened next in the telepath’s mind, but as they stood there in apparent silence his gaze traveled over the plant itself. “It’s.. holding something. That must be what we're looking for.” He could only hope that Ic would be successful in asking for it. With the Betazoid’s attention on the plant, Shavan allowed himself an appreciative glance. Ic really was very cute, wasn't he? He wanted to- Like a switch had been flipped, his blood suddenly turned to ice. There, in front of them, was a Caldonian… someone he never expected to see again. Of course Shavan remembered one of the last faces he’d seen before the Pit. And they still hadn’t found out exactly who set them up, had they? Resisting the urge to strangle Xoteak on the spot, he arranged his features into a perfectly cheerful expression. “I’d love some.” He quickly helped himself to some of the food off the cart, making no move to pay for it yet. [ Kova Sh'qaleq - Park] If the Betazoid's stammering didn't confirm that he was interested in fornication, then his reddening shade of pink certainly had. Kova felt that she had become quite adept at identifying when pink-skins of all sorts were being disingenuous. When their blood rushed to the surface of the skin, making their pale skins pinken, they typically were experiencing anxiety. And the only thing Ic had to be anxious about was concealing his lust for fornicating with Shavan, who seemed all too willing to fulfill this obligation... later. Wasn't there some sort of rule about fraternizing with those under your direct command? It wasn't really of Kova's concern. All that mattered was completing the task. As they arrived, Kova had to admit. She had no idea of what to look for. Shavan seemed to be the one familiar with it, so when he started to describe it, Kova made certain to pay attention. Though his description wasn't very detailed: large, vines, thorns. While looking around, it seemed that Ic was the first one to locate it. Kova allowed him to take the lead, and kept a healthy distance from the plant as well. There was no need for all of them to die should he aggravate the plant. Kova shrugged nonchalantly as Ic asked if they knew where Sickbay was. She thought he would have preferred that they ask for an emergency transport. His agony would only persist of they tried to carry him there. When he called out once more to ask if either of them were a botanist, Kova shook her head. "My homeworld is a planet of ice," she pointed out (hopefully) the obvious. Kova watched Ic, though she wasn't sure what was happening. There wasn't any actually talking occurring... at least not from him. Her attention was soon captured by someone else soliciting chicken. As Kova turned to see the vendor that had approached, she instantly recognized Xoteak. "You!" Kova said as she reached out to take a handful of Xoteak's garb. How lucky he was that Commander Ellis' words rang in her head at that moment. She released him, her eyes narrowing as she stared at the Caldonian. "I see you managed to elude capture back on Caldonia... while we did not. How fortunate for you."[Park, Front Ear] Ic all but pouted at Kova’s assertion, trying to ignore the impulse to explain himself that that was not what he had been thinking until it was brought up, he was the mind-reader, not her, and also just because one grows up in a particular environment it doesn’t preclude them from developing outside or contrary interests thank you very much— but said nothing. The rest was body language, though it stuttered. [NPC - Xoteak - Park]Xoteak yelped as he was grabbed, fully expecting a murder. And then, he was released. Such sweet relief. He didn't protest, didn't defend himself, didn't argue, letting Sh'qaleq's wrath give her the immunity of a higher caste. "10 credits, sir," he reminded Shavan, businessman that he was. "My chicken has a price."There was one man there whom Xoteak didn't recognize. Maybe a human, or a Betazoid? "Would you like chicken?" he offered. "10 credits a meal."

[ Shavan Th’zhaar - Park] While Shavan was feeling the same impulses as Kova, it became clear that there was little to be gained from confronting Xoteak here and now. He glanced between them, watching the Caldonian's reaction. “Surely not for us,” was the natural response to the request for credits. However, Shavan was also aware of the presence of Ic, who had nothing to do with this, and never should. “No,” he answered the Betazoid quickly, turning to him when he approached. “It’s fine. He’s just… an old acquaintance of ours. How's it going with the plant?” he gestured back towards it. Kova Sh'qaleq Ic Arbrell Judith Eastman

"10 credits a meal." [ Shavan Th’zhaar - Park] While Shavan was feeling the same impulses as Kova, it became clear that there was little to be gained from confronting Xoteak here and now. [ Kova Sh'qaleq - Park] Kova simply glared in Xoteak's direction. Was she really upset with him? It was entirely possible that he had led them out into the desert, and betrayed them after being left behind in the runabout. Kova could recall being suspicious of him opting to stay behind even then. There were ways to find out, but this was hardly the time or place. Ic had come back over, though he hadn't retrieved the the item from the plant. "An acquaintence," Kova repeated. "Indeed.""Where Xoteak is concerned, I would certainly say that absence makes the heart grow fonder," the Andorian uttered flatly, though she trusted the meaning behind her words were conveyed. She turned her attention back towards Ic and Shavan, wondering if he had achieved communication with the plant and was any closer to procuring the item.

['Unique' - Front Ear - Park]It listened. The Talkative One's explanation was rational, and it seemed to know the Person that had placed the object with it. The Talkative One offered an exchange, companionship. It had been a few cycles since any of it's companions had been able to stay longer than a brief exchange... While the Talkative One retreated to assist its own companions, Unique contemplated the offer. The 'giver' had not been the type of Person it was able to communicate with... It had been unable to provide instructions. Rules. Or inform of another Person being sent to retrieve. The energy gathered around the People eased after a few moments, and the vines relaxed once more. "I accept the exchange." It called out to the Talkative One. A moment later, the vines shifted, pushing towards the ground before retreating back towards the stalk. There in their wake, was a small figurine of a potted flower. "The Nurturers have not come to harvest, yet," it continued as more vines parted to reveal several clusters of red and black berries. "You and your companions may take, if you wish." This gesture of generosity was one of gratitude, for the kindness and the explanation. It felt like it learned something today.

[Eta Borir - Main Hanger]
Eta grinned when Leanna mentioned Doctor Paawin. She could almost have guessed that the two belonged together. She had met the Bajoran at the festival of the lights, even if they hadn't talked for very long. The last thing Eta heard was the story about Du Tollame and... When she heard the voices, it took only seconds for her to assign them to a species. Bajorans. The voice was aggressive and directly directed at her. So it took only a few more seconds for her to turn her head. Well, look at that, the sentence 'Don this suit on to go into battle' got a completely different meaning. The one who talked had no visible injuries caused by Cardassians. But she was not sure about the smaller one. The scar could probably be the result of him not showing proper respect to a Cardassian. Or he had been in the resistance. But no matter how they both looked, they were now standing here in front of her, not really looking very pleased. Rather than stall for time and let her Cardassian haughtiness take over, she answered the question. " You know Commander Ellis, right? She put together some team-building tasks, and anyone who wanted to could participate. And we are working on our third clue right now. But now the counter question, what are you doing here besides growling at me?".
