[ Leanna - Blue Beta, Promenade] " As tempting as that is, he's definitely a keeper" Leanna replied, not missing a beat in keeping up with Jov's continued teasing. She'd been in love and lost it so many times or that's what it felt like. However with Riyo it wasn't like that as he brought out the best in her, supported her and encouraged her ideas and dreams. Okay some of that had been put on hold, especially the album promotion but that was inconsequential right now. She had so much more to concentrate on at the moment and less stress was part of her promise to Riyo. Although that was about to be tested when an unfamiliar man entered the bar and made himself heard. " Yep.. I don't envy you at all if he starts.. then again I can blame it on hormones if he tries anything".Of course that was said in a hushed whisper as Lea speared another shrimp, pausing as the twins decided to do a somersault in her abdomen. ************ [ Seamus - Blue Beta, Promenade] Seamus had just finished stocking his latest ales when he heard the unknown male voice. Turning around to see the man rock up to the bar and quickly decided that he would be the one to serve him. " Welcome to the Blue Beta, here's the menu and I'd recommend the Blue Tiger Ale" Seamus said cheerily as he handed over the menu and placed a glass, followed by a colourful ale bottle in front of Ted.

[Enisgn Aleiana Kniffin - Front Ear - Primary Sickbay]
Smoothing down her uniform she walked towards sickbay. She had been studying the layout of the station for weeks but as it always was, no amount of looking at schematics was going to teach you your way until you hit the ground. She hesitated at a cross section of corridors and closed her eyes, wiggling her fingers and trying to remember the way. When he eyes opened they held a look of tentative confidence and with a little nod she set off again.
She arrived at sickbay, stopping just before the doors to take a deep breath and composed herself. She looked at the time. Damn! 2 minutes late for her shift. She smoothed a stray hair back behind her ear knowing full well it would misbehave again shortly. Walking forwards through the doors she looked around. There was a group standing close to a biobed, and another group, Starfleet officers, of course, all higher ranking than her. She stopped and waited for a second before placing herself behind another biobed and stood. She didn't quite know what was going on and she wasn't about to announce that fact to a room full of officers.
Ana blinked a couple of times and placed herself by a wall near the door, not wanting to interrupt. Should she announce herself? Should she leave. She swore at herself internally. She'd promised to leave the indescisiveness and self doubt back at the academy. Easier said than done it seemed.

[Petty Officer Conor Lynch - Leaving the Soteria]This was it! The last time he'd be stepping off the Nybbie boat. Conor Lynch was free, again! Of course, he'd been supposed to do some sort of official "exit interview" with one of the important higher-ups before officially extracting himself from the organisation, but they'd all been so busy with the Perry thing and all the hush-hush sneaky stuff that they all seemed to get really hard for. He'd feared that Lieutenant Sorcerer, his nemesis, would have his interview delegated to him, but fortunately for Lynch, he had not seen hide nor hair of the slippery fellow. And so, Lynch zipped up his leather jacket, smoothed down his freshly-styled dark locks and with his bag resting on his shoulder, stepped into the docking passageway. He was home. There was a spring to his step and he nodded a greeting or a farewell to a few other officers as he passed. He had no idea who most of them were, but it seemed like the thing to do when one was leaving a job. And he'd done it right this time; he'd submitted his notice, had finished all outstanding work, and was leaving with a clear record and conscience. Nobody had tried to stop him. In fact, nobody had said anything to him at all; not even a written acknowledgement that his request had been received. That's how little value he had to these people. He decided he was okay with that. It was weird, to be sure, but he was leaving them, so he figured he had no right to expect any sort of attempt to court or keep him. And in truth, he wasn't very good at his job. Naturally, he'd already decided on where to go first: The Promenade. He'd call in on Peggy, and then he'd be getting himself a well-earned pint. Conor Lynch had a lot of research to do before opening that pub on Kerelia.

[Lt. Paawin Riyo - Front Ear - Primary Sickbay]The room was very quickly getting crowded, and only one of the people was a patient. Riyo had to suppress his instinctive urge to request everyone to move out. Commander Quinn's presence was a relief. While the doctor was more than happy to oversee the medical aspects of Perry's return, he was far less confident about the political aspects. Taking the PADD handed to him with a nod, he glanced over it quickly before speaking to the other Doctor. "It looks like you've been taking good care of him." Of course, he would need to go over the records in more detail before he could continue treatment... The Bajoran turned a reassuring smile to the Commodore when he spoke about being unaware of the passage of time. "That is to be expected. Not only did you suffer severe brain trauma before you left here, but time does get a little fuzzy when you don't have any sort of schedule to maintain." Further scans would be done for sure, but at the moment there was no need to cause the man any possible distress by discussing possibilities. His gaze swept around the room, searching for the nurse on duty, when he noticed the woman he'd never met before standing off in the corner. She didn't look to be ill or injured, and rather seemed to be waiting for something. Riyo regarded her for a moment, before he remembered Captain Baker had informed him of a new transfer. This was really not the day to be training someone new... But at least she'd already completed the standard Starfleet medical training. And he wasn't about to turn away the help. "You must be Doctor Kniffin." He addressed her as he stepped away from the gathering, letting Quinn handle he Nybberites for the time being. "I'm Doctor Paawin. Our patient today is Commodore Perry... I'll fill you in on the full story when things quiet down a little. For now I need you to run a level three diagnostic imaging scan on him, while I go over his records."

{Quoted Posts} [NPC - Commodore (Reserves) Calvin Perry - Sickbay, Front Ear Station]It was good to be received so well by so many. "I feel fine, physically," Calvin reassured the Starfleet personnel. "Just tired. It's been a long time, and I don't know how long it's been." Well, that wasn't quite right.
"I know the date, but I don't know how long I've been aware for." He was, to some degree, pained by the lack of memory, by the confusion. [Enisgn Aleiana Kniffin - Front Ear - Primary Sickbay]

Yvonna Teller-Wright - Sickbay, Front Ear Station ] Yvonna could see that quite the number of people were assembling and filling the room. Her primary concern, however, was Commodore Perry. She could only hope that these large numbers weren't instigating some unnecessary stress. Perry was complaining of some memory loss, and Dr. Paawin seemed to field the question admirably. It was possible that his memory loss was a physiological ailment, but it could also be psychological if he were depressing some sort of trauma. As the opportunity for her to speak arose, while Dr. Paawin addressed his colleague, Dr. Kniffin, Yvonna took advantage of the opening. "Excuse me, sir," Yvonna said. She looked between Quinn and Perry, and then chose to address the patient himself, not wanting the man to feel as if he were simply being marginalized and had no say in how things proceeded. "I'm Lieutenant Teller-Wright, one of the station's counselors. Would it be okay if I asked you a few questions while the doctors look over your records and perform their scans?" She then look over towards Dr. Paawin and Dr. Kniffin. "If that won't interfere with any of your scans, of course."
Lt. Commander Isaiah Quinn - Sickbay, Front Ear Station ] Having been in a relationship with Thea for as long as he had, Isaiah could pick up on the subtle cues being dropped by all the medical personnel. "Captain Jogann," Isaiah said addressing the Brikar. "So that the Commodore and the doctors can have a little privacy, I suggest that both our security teams hold positions outside of Sickbay. Meanwhile, you and I can discuss the matter of custody in Dr. Paawin's office." Isaiah looked in the direction of the Bajoran, silently asking if it were okay instead of commandeering the man's office without asking.

{Quoted Posts} [LCDR Tony Sleebaggo & LTJG Chloe Hudson - CO's Office]"I agree, Captain," Sleebaggo said as Eastman described it would be best not to act as though they were interrogating the Alliance. "No point accusing our allies of anything without evidence. They deserve the benefit of the doubt," he stated.
Beside him, Chloe rolled her eyes in frustration. The pompous git had no idea what he was talking about. Or perhaps he was hoping to defect when he inevitably was fired. Before she had a chance to say anything, the door chimed, presumebly it was the Colonel and her subordinates. [ LT Joshua Niles - Ops, Front Ear Station ]{Spoiler}{Spoiler}Well, at least Niles' opinion with regards to a heightened security posture was well-received. However, he was not sure if Commander Taggert or Chief Velal knew of what had happened at those war games, when they had infiltrated a saboteur aboard the Mac. So, he did feel compelled to point this out... that is until Sleebaggo himself chimed in, with the exact same sort of thing that had been proven dead wrong back on Arkaria.
Just bloody lovely... and it would seem that his right-hand officer had the exact same kind of feelings about her boss than the Tactical officer harboured, judging by her attempt at making a visual inspection of the back of her skull. This was just about enough to make Josh regret pushing for being brought back to duty even in a limited fashion at this point, and he wound up taking a deep breath, for the threefold purpose of stilling his mind, coping with that arrogant and incompetent arse and help push through the entirely new instance of chronic pain he would have to get used to. Then, the door chimed. Lovely, no real time to prepare a strategy to get information out of the Nybberites... which also meant one Lieutenant Niles would have to shove his disgust of mercenaries into a deep, dark place, right alongside with just how much he despised Sleebaggo. Which meant he had just about no time to get his recommendation in "Captain, we can't look too trusting either; they're mercenaries, but not stupid."For, even as much as he reviled those who sold force for profit, he had to at least respect their cunning. [Capt. Judith Eastman(-Williams), PhD - Captain Eastman's Office]Judy wasn't going to say it, but given past events, all around the table probably knew that she didn't place an awful lot of faith in Sleebaggo (ever) or Niles (anymore). However, she'd always believed in leveraging different perspectives, even if it was only to make the adults in the room appear more reasonable. Niles, at the very least, could learn a thing or two.
"Let's see how it goes. Computer, open door." The door came open, and Judy, at the far end of the conference table, stood up. "Colonel, good morning. Thank you for bringing the Commodore back to us." There was no need to put Vasser on the defensive right away, and certainly no need for the Captain to be the one to do it. "Coffee?" [Lt. Cmdr. Pierce Taggert - Front Ear - CO's Office]Taggert kept his expression neutral as the two other men in the room voiced their opinions on how the Captain should handle the situation. However, he rested a hand gently on Niles' shoulder; a silent reminder not to get drawn into another argument with Sleebaggo. Thankfully, there wasn't time for that, as the door chime alerted them to the Colonel's arrival. Sitting down in the chair next to him, he took another bite of the fruit in his hand, watching the exchange between the COs with casual interest. Col. Helena Vasser | Maj. Chromar | Alpha Sgt. Gorsk | Dr. Bel | Capt. Rez Jogann | 2nd Lt. Neema | | | | | | |
[Sickbay, Frontier Station ] Jogann watched and listened as the Federation personnel spoke to the Commodore, asking him questions about his health and such. He had even observed as the male Starfleet doctor accepted the records that their own Dr. Bel had provided. He had given it hardly a cursory glance before continuing with his analysis. It didn't offend the Brikar. In fact, he respected it. Yet, there were protocols that he preferred were adhered to, and that began with official custody being transferred before things went too far. He did not wish for any sort of ill findings to be able to wash back upon them if something happened to Perry while still in their custody, but in Federation hands. Lt. Commander Quinn mentioned speaking about transfer protocols, which sounded to Jogann like a stalling tactic. He would agree to security being posted outside, while the doctors saw to Perry, mainly because the Federation security team would be doing the same. Still, he wasn't about to give Starfleet carte blanche with Perry. "Very well," he said dismissing his men to report outside. "However, Dr. Bel will remain here until our business is concluded." He had spoken to the Acting XO, believing the terms were satisfactory. Dr. Bel stepped up, towering over the other medical personnel nearby. "If there are any other questions about his treatment or progress, I am at your disposal," Bel said as his eyes took inventory of the readings on the screen momentarily, before looking back at the Starfleet personnel still there. He understood Jogann's concerns and planned to watch carefully.
[CO's Office, Frontier Station ] As the doors parted, Vasser was the first to step inside. Her eyes quickly took inventory of the people that were gathered. Subconsciously, she wondered if this was a numbers game. A silent show of force with everyone that was gathered. There was another message being delivered as well, she felt with the lack of Judy's traditional baked treats. This time, there was only fruit. "Good morning, Captain. Safely returning the Commodore home was my pleasure," she said. Her words had been genuine. She was familiar with Perry and had a great deal of respect for the man.[fn] S1:E7:MURDER!; A Matter of Trust (first paragraph)[/fn] When he had disappeared after his accident without a trace, it hadn't sat well with her at all. Though, to bring him back home had truly been an honor. Her eyes surveyed the room. Judy she knew, and because of that suspected that things would remain civil at the table until they weren't. Lieutenant Niles was also a familiar face. He had been the tactical officer on duty during their military exercises. She doubted that he was a fan. Lt. (j.g.) Hudson she recognized from Major Chromar's reports. She was the subordinate of the Intelligence Officer, Lt. Commander Harmon, whom was noticeably absent. The surprise came in the form of Lt. Commander Pierce Taggert. The man's record had always been an impressive one. In her opinion, he was just short of being a legend. "Commander Taggert," she said greeting the man personally. "Forgive the impropriety, but it is an honor. Tales of your ingenuity aboard the Whirlaway stretched farther along the front than you may believe." Her eyes then shifted to the stranger she did not know, but whom appeared to be an intelligence officer as well. "Forgive me, Commander....""Sleebaggo," Chromar said speaking up. Vasser quickly measured her response, but her eyes may have widened just a bit as she began to wonder if Chromar had just insulted this man. Surely that wasn't his name. "Lt. Commander Anthony Sleebaggo, acting-Chief Intelligence officer while Mr. Harmon is indisposed."Vasser slowly nodded at the impromptu report by her own head of Intelligence. "I see. Well, a pleasure to meet you as well... Commander," she said after measuring how to address the man. She wasn't going to call him by his surname, nor was it appropriate to address him by his given name. His title would have to do. "I believe most of you know my own Intelligence Officer, Major Chromar. This is Lt. Neema, a Junior Negotiator in our Diplomatic Corps." With introductions for the most part out of the way, the Nyberrite officers moved to take their seats at the opposite end of the table as the others. At the offer of coffee, Vasser thought it best to accept what little hospitality was being offered. "Yes, thank you," she said to the offer. The rest of her contingent did the same as they waited for the coffee and inquisition to get underway.

He'd found words did not come to him as naturally as they used to, once upon a time. "I'll answer your questions as best as I can, with what I can remember," he answered the counselor. A cursory tricorder scan of the Commodore would indicate that his blood pressure was in check, as though he had access to his hypertension medications during the whole of his disappearance.

[CPO Jovireh Velal - Front Ear - Blue Beta]"Oh good! That's plenty of time to back out if you happen to fall in love with someone else!" she continued her teasing. Honestly, Jov admired Leanna. She'd been a single mother of two when they met, and was not only a wonderful parent but also the successful owner of a popular restaurant. And she always seemed to have herself together, knowing exactly what she wanted and not letting anything get in her way. After she met Riyo, all of those traits only intensified, and now she was carrying two more babies and still managed to be holding herself together... Jovireh was pulled from her thoughts by a loud voice passing by, and she glanced over to see the man sitting near the bar. "And it begins..." Thankfully this man didn't seem to be interested in causing trouble, though his presence meant the Soteria had docked and her crew was on shore leave. It was only a matter of time before someone got rowdy. [NPC - Corporal Ted Paul - Blue Beta Bar & Grill, Front Ear Station"Gonna ride the tiger," Ted declared, and then chugged a glass of the ale. "Thanks, amigo."He was aware of the two women's reaction to his presence, and truth be told, it wounded him. "Hey, ladies, it's okay. Not all Nybberites are the same," he asserted nosily.

[LCDR Tony Sleebaggo & LTJG Chloe Hudson - CO's Office]
The young tactical lieutenant whose name escaped Sleebaggo yet again declared his naiveté with the confidence of ignorance for all to hear. Mercenaries was a crude generalisation of the Nyberrite Alliance, a proud fraternity of warriors dedicating their skills to aiding those who need it but may not benefit from the protection of a Starfleet battle group. Besides, if they did have some nefarious plan there was no need to worry. They were in his house now and were not going to be able to so blatantly get away with whatever conspiratorial aims the two pips-squeak thought they had. He stared icily towards the younger officer until their esteemed guests arrived.
Some might be offended by the lack of recognition, but of course Sleebaggo was far more wise than that. He understood that not only was fame meaningless, and typically undeserved, but that for someone in his position the real goal was of course to remain obscure, in the shadows. A mystery. "The pleasure is mine, Colonel," he said graciously with a bow of his head. "Your reputation precedes you. And might I say, I am glad for the opportunity for us to work together. On behalf of all the crew, we are very greatful that you were able to return the Commodore to safety."Next to Sleebaggo, Chloe struggled to stop herself from facepalming in despair.

[Lt. Cmdr. Pierce Taggert - Front Ear - CO's Office]Being addressed by name before he'd been introduced caused the man's eyebrows to raise in surprise. "Apparently," he replied with a grin to the explanation. "It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance." He hid his amusement about Tony's lack of recognition - and his frustration at the other man's rambling - by finishing off the fruit in his hand. Judy busying herself with getting the coffee was a tactic he had seen often enough to pick up on the silent cue immediately. He shifted in his seat, gesturing for the Colonel and her people to join them at the table. "Now that the pleasantries are out of the way, on to the reason you're here. I'm sure you can understand our concerns over where the Commodore has been since the Lusitania disappeared, and what happened to the ship is still a security priority. Where exactly was his escape pod located?"

[ Matthew Harmon - Avi's Workshop] Maybe this child really was Avi's. He certainly reminded matt of her, disagreeable, suspicious, rude. He smiled as the kid spoke. "Does she know you're eating that?" he asked, looking towards the tube of glue or whatever it was that he was sucking on. He sat the whisky down on the workbench and indicating towards it. "I'm not a stranger to Avi. I've worked with her. I have a present for her. But I really need to speak to her as soon as possible to help her," he said slowly. "I take it she isn't here, and you've also indicated you know where she is. So I need you to help me help her. I'll buy one of those wrenches," he offered, aware of the absurd price. It didn't bother him, he was rich enough and happy to share the wealth with Avi...or her ward. [ Mott Moz | Avi's workshop ]To Mott's unexpressed delight, the man accepted without blinking the insane price of wares not for sale. Mott turned and pulled some kind of wrench from the table behind him. He did something similar with a PADD set up to take payments, so the un-stranger could show his good faith. The whiskey, then, Mott handled. It was a chunky glass bottle, the top sealed with blue wax, and the writing on the label was Terran. Mott sniffed at it. "Why does my mom need help?" Mott asked. Most of the time, Mott was trying to weasel things out of adults. It wasn't common for an adult to want something from Mott, so he was going to milk it. "What's your name? What's this stuff?" Matthew Harmon [ Avi Moz, in disguise as an Alpha Centauri monk, | Promenade ]It was a fair disguise, the dark robes, long-tailed hood, and strange white mask. It was enough that it was fairly well-recognized as religious get-up. Enough people found the spiritually devout off-putting or awkward, so there was little chance of being approached and a greater chance of being ignored. The blue Bolian beneath the get-up would appreciate this manner of cover for now. She posted up briefly at a public panel and accessed the public records on what ships were docked. There were always several dozen merchant and science vessels coming and going, but the Soteria's name stood out. Once her brig-away-from-brig, Avi had acted as spy for Starfleet aboard this same Soteria, having been beamed out from under Major Chromar's understandable wrath at the last possible second. A great deal had happened that day and Avi wasn't so arrogant to thing this was all about her, but what was the saying about birds and bushes and stones? Avi's residence on the station was not a secret - she'd have to understand the risk in order to make her next move, so she went in search for someone who knew something, preferably someone squishy. Lynch. Avi clocked the human as he came through into the expansive promenade. Non-threatening, disloyal, stupid - the perfect place to start. "Traveller," she said sweetly from beneath the mask, stepping to block his path, "do you have a moment to talk about the coming Falla?" Charlie Fox (Lynch)

{Quoted Posts} [ NPC - Cpl Bolton Ramius - NSS Soteria -> Promenade, Front Ear Station ]Being told there was no place for him in Starfleet had sent Bolton Ramius looking elsewhere for a military career. But then again, it was probably a good thing Starfleet hadn't wanted him; they were too damned soft. Too many rules, so much emphasis on peaceful resolution rather than just break heads where it was needed. He had thought of going pirate, but that was a good way to have Starfleet up your ass real fast... or worse, the Cardassians or the Klingon. So, it left going mercenary... and the Nyberrite Alliance had been recruiting. But, as it turned out, they had rules too. Rules up the wazoo. Hell, more often than not they weren't even acting like real mercenaries, more worried bout contracts and legalities and accounting than anything else. So when the word came that they were going to remain at spacegoing watches after tying up to that starbase, one Corporal Ramius managed to... convince someone else to take his watch, which would grant him a lovely, lovely twenty four hours of liberty time. And, there had been no explicit orders against going ashore, just the expectation that people would be showing up for their watches; and if Smithy screwed him, Smithy would have a really, really bad day... So, he made his way out the airlock, and started seeking out somewhere to get a drink, and maybe satisfy other appetites while he was there. [LCDR Tony Sleebaggo & LTJG Chloe Hudson - CO's Office]

[CO's Office, Frontier Station ] This was an interesting change of pace. It was subtle, but Vasser had certainly noticed. She set about to serve the coffee, leaving the others to tend to the matter at hand. It wasn't as if she was abandoning it all together, but she wasn't in the midst of things... at least right now. But why? Was it genuine courtesy, or an attempt to alter the playing field. Vasser nodded back in Lt. Commander Sleebaggo's direction. "Thank you, Commander. I just wanted to see the Commodore back where he belongs."It was then Lt. Commander Taggert who spoke up and began asking the questions. Was it because of the words Vasser had said about the man earlier. Was her admiration of the commander supposed to make her more forthcoming in this line of questioning. Vasser took a deep breath before sharing what she could. "I'm afraid I am not at liberty to divulge that information, Commander," Vasser stated. "What I can reveal to you is that the Nyberrite vessel that encountered the pod escorted the Commander to Sigma-4, where the Soteria was recalled to bring Commodore Perry here."She would have hoped that that would have been enough, but she was incredibly doubtful that all would be settle din such a simplistic manner. Chromar then spoke up. "We did manage to collect the navigational recorder from the escape pod," Chromar added. "Though it appeared to be badly corrupted. Our specialists tried to obtain the information, but were unsuccessful. We can have it sent to you for verification, but I believe you will be met with similar results."
[NPC - Rimi Mora - Promenade, Front Ear Station ] Rimi literally felt like a stalker, walking parallel to that Nyberrite soldier, and casually turning to peer into shoppe windows should he glance in her direction. He was the first that Rimi had noticed that disembarked alone. The others had been in small groups, but this guy seemed to be looking for company. Perhaps this was a win-win situation. Candy mentally recited Candy's checklist as best she could about men in uniform. He seemed to have some markings, so he wasn't a grunt like her father. Maybe he was important or something. He also wasn't old enough to be her father, so that was a plus. All that mattered now, was how he treated her. Candy remembered that was very important. She began to move across the promenade towards him. "Hi," Rimi called out. She stood there in her dress, her hands clasped behind her back. "You look a little thirsty." Rimi shrugged. "I might know where you can find a drink." The Blue Beta was definitely off the list. Last thing she needed was Seamus ruining things for her. "I can lead you there... if you're interested of course." Rimi paused a moment, biting her bottom lip as she waited for an answer.

While he was doing it, the kid started examining the whisky, which Matt tried taking from him when he noticed. Or maybe he should let him have some? Would it be better than the glue he was previously trying? Maybe Bolians had a higher tolerance? No that would be irresponsible, he thought to himself. "It's whisky, a strong Terran drink," he explained. "My name is Matt. What's your name?" he asked back. "As for your mum, I think she will be okay, but need to talk to her about some bad people who are visiting the station." He was careful to try not to spook the kid too much, while also not lying to him. He seemed to be quite inquisitive and cautious.
