[ Mott Moz | Avi's workshop ]Mott made a feeble attempt to grab back the 'whiskey', but ultimately it was repossessed by 'Matt'. "Wow, weird. My name's Matt, too," Mott lied with narrowed eyes, daring Terran Matt to contradict him. Mott was tempted to try and sell him a bolt cutter. But instead he took up the tub of paste and sat back with a heavy, adult-style sigh. "The Nyberrites, yes, I am aware, Matt. They're angry with my mom. A lot of people are." Mott was not naive, or at least less naive than people might guess for his age. He knew Avi Moz was weird, mean, and unhappy and that she didn't understand family. She'd been alone for a long time. But not anymore. "Is she angry with you?" Matthew Harmon

[ NPC - Cpl Bolton Ramius - Promenade, Front Ear Station ]{TW: Predatory behaviour} Starfleet facilities were so very much all the same. Clean, without real character. Sure, they sometimes had some more interesting businesses on hand. But really, they were clean and neat and tidy. Too much so. But, word had it that the Front Ear (what a bloody ridiculous name that was!) had some much more interesting establishment than the norm. Which meant he had to find them, get a few drinks... And maybe some more. He had been leaning on the railing, surveying his current hunting grounds, when he felt eyes on him, and then he heard a voice behind him. Normally, he would have whipped around with a sneer on his face, but there was something about it that didn't scream it belonged to some Fleeter. Sure, Starfleet did hire some real lookers, but they had that sense of authority to them, that he didn't much care about. But that voice had none of that. When he turned around, though, he found himself smiling as he looked up and down the cute little thing that had addressed him. Very nice, he thought as he looked her over. "Why yes, I am thirsty, and very much interested in a drink," he replied with a smile that a more experienced pair of eyes could interpret is a predatory. And oh, how did she look eager to him all right... this would be fun. "Lead on, please."

Matt, the real one, raised his eyebrow at the child as he claimed that his name was also Matt. "Right..." he said, his tone and expression clear that he didn't believe whoever this kid was. "You shouldn't eat that," he said putting his hand out in front of him indicating he wanted the blue child to hand over the paste that clearly wasn't meant for consumption.
He wasn't sure what the best way to respond to the question about Avi being mad. At least the kid had confirmed that Avi was his mum. "Yes, the Nyberrites, they're likely especially unhappy with her. Is that why she's gone? Something to do with them?" it seemed strange she'd apparently left her kid here if she was so worried about the Alliance. The first place they'd come looking would be here. "I haven't spoken to her in a while," he eventually decided would be the way to dodge 'Matt's' question.

[ Mott Moz | Avi's workshop ]Mott surrendered the paste reluctantly, but stuck his fingers in his mouth one by one to clean under his yellow fingernails. Why didn't anyone understand Bolian physiology? Not everyone was as dainty as humans. They had stomachs like little babies, and just the one! "I thought you knew," Mott said smugly. "If you came to help her about the Nyberrites, how come you don't know that's why she's gone?" In the little fellow's mind, it was a triple checkmate. "Look, ochi, my guy. Matt. Just tell me what you were going to say and I'll tell her when she comes back. Ooooor..." He turned around and grabbed the first hand-tool he could find - a tension compressor - and put it between them. "Buy this habijidi [fn]Thingamagig[/fn] for three thousand credits and I'll tell you where she went." This was the calibre of scam twelve-year-old Mott 'Matt' Moz was capable of, a little extortion to make himself feel better. The man would get what he wanted, Mott wouldn't have completely interfered in his mom's business, but he'd come out a few thousand credits ahead. And whiskey. Matthew Harmon

[LCDR Tony Sleebaggo & LTJG Chloe Hudson - CO's Office]"Colonel, we all want the same thing don't we?" Sleebaggo said politely as the Colonel seemed reticent to share important information. "I understand that certain former officers have manufactured an uncomfortable relationship between our two organisations, but I hope to change that. We are on the same side. No need for hostility," the mess Harmon had created seemed to unfortunately be likely to take more effort to clean up than Sleebaggo had hoped. "We need not know why you were in that area, or what interests you have in the region. We simply need some coordinates for our own investigations and records." To Chloe, it was painfully obvious that Vasser was up to something, and certainly hiding something. The young officer was also surprised by Vasser. She must have known that the question of where the escape pod was found would be the first thing asked and the most basic of questions to be fielded. On the face of it, it was an entirely reasonable question regardless of their relationship. Even the Romulans would probably have shared that information. So if it was being hidden then it was a clear sign the Alliance was up to something, involved in some way. She looked towards the Captain, trying to gauge how she was reacting. She would have spoken, but in the crowded room with the Captain and Taggert it wasn't necessary and likely she'd just get into trouble with Sleebaggo.

[NPC - Rimi Mora - Promenade, Front Ear Station ] There was a hint of relief when the gentleman greeted her warmly. Was this what Candy had meant about him being a gentleman. It certainly sounded as if that were the case. He had even said the word 'please' when he asked her to lead the way. Rimi nodded and started to move in the direction of the Spotty Alibi. It definitely wasn't the Blue Beta, but it had it's own sort of rustic charm. And since she was accompanying.... Her mind went blank. She hadn't even done introductions properly. She sighed slighly, kicking herself fore being such a dork. How could she forget that? "I'm Rimi, by the way," she said introducing herself. "What's yours?" That exchange wasn't exactly smooth. She'd have to talk to Candy some more about actually making introductions that didn't sound as half as lame as that. Hopefully, this guy wouldn't dump her at the door for being so clueless. Perhaps she could salvage things by carrying on the conversation. "So, how long is your ship going to be docked here at the station?" Joshua Niles (Bolton)

[ LT Joshua Niles - Ops, Front Ear Station ]{Quoted Posts} [Capt. Judith Eastman(-Williams), PhD - Captain Eastman's Office]The offer of coffee, beyond being an act of politeness, was also a calculated tactical move. By casting herself in the role of mother, she put herself - in some subconscious plane - above the inevitable fray. She was also giving her competent crewmembers a chance to shine. "One pot of coffee coming right up," she announced. "Let's see if I can find the good beans."Though she had herself switched to decaf sometime after the first heart attack, Judy kept some of the stuff in her office, as a keepsake from an earlier period of her life. Pierce, at the very least, would know to take it as a cue to start questioning, and if not him, then Tony could throw out some softballs.
Tag Jovireh Velal , Isaiah Quinn , Matthew Harmon , Joshua Niles [Lt. Cmdr. Pierce Taggert - Front Ear - CO's Office]Being addressed by name before he'd been introduced caused the man's eyebrows to raise in surprise. "Apparently," he replied with a grin to the explanation. "It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance." He hid his amusement about Tony's lack of recognition - and his frustration at the other man's rambling - by finishing off the fruit in his hand. Judy busying herself with getting the coffee was a tactic he had seen often enough to pick up on the silent cue immediately. He shifted in his seat, gesturing for the Colonel and her people to join them at the table. "Now that the pleasantries are out of the way, on to the reason you're here. I'm sure you can understand our concerns over where the Commodore has been since the Lusitania disappeared, and what happened to the ship is still a security priority. Where exactly was his escape pod located?"

[CO's Office, Frontier Station ] This was an interesting change of pace. It was subtle, but Vasser had certainly noticed. She set about to serve the coffee, leaving the others to tend to the matter at hand. It wasn't as if she was abandoning it all together, but she wasn't in the midst of things... at least right now. But why? Was it genuine courtesy, or an attempt to alter the playing field. Vasser nodded back in Lt. Commander Sleebaggo's direction. "Thank you, Commander. I just wanted to see the Commodore back where he belongs."It was then Lt. Commander Taggert who spoke up and began asking the questions. Was it because of the words Vasser had said about the man earlier. Was her admiration of the commander supposed to make her more forthcoming in this line of questioning. Vasser took a deep breath before sharing what she could. "I'm afraid I am not at liberty to divulge that information, Commander," Vasser stated. "What I can reveal to you is that the Nyberrite vessel that encountered the pod escorted the Commander to Sigma-4, where the Soteria was recalled to bring Commodore Perry here."She would have hoped that that would have been enough, but she was incredibly doubtful that all would be settle din such a simplistic manner. Chromar then spoke up. "We did manage to collect the navigational recorder from the escape pod," Chromar added. "Though it appeared to be badly corrupted. Our specialists tried to obtain the information, but were unsuccessful. We can have it sent to you for verification, but I believe you will be met with similar results."
[NPC - Rimi Mora - Promenade, Front Ear Station ] Rimi literally felt like a stalker, walking parallel to that Nyberrite soldier, and casually turning to peer into shoppe windows should he glance in her direction. He was the first that Rimi had noticed that disembarked alone. The others had been in small groups, but this guy seemed to be looking for company. Perhaps this was a win-win situation. Candy mentally recited Candy's checklist as best she could about men in uniform. He seemed to have some markings, so he wasn't a grunt like her father. Maybe he was important or something. He also wasn't old enough to be her father, so that was a plus. All that mattered now, was how he treated her. Candy remembered that was very important. She began to move across the promenade towards him. "Hi," Rimi called out. She stood there in her dress, her hands clasped behind her back. "You look a little thirsty." Rimi shrugged. "I might know where you can find a drink." The Blue Beta was definitely off the list. Last thing she needed was Seamus ruining things for her. "I can lead you there... if you're interested of course." Rimi paused a moment, biting her bottom lip as she waited for an answer.

With the Captain going to make coffee and leaving things in Taggert and Sleebaggo's hands, things were most definitely a little stilted all right. Indeed, Taggert was starting to ask some truly easy, basic questions that the Nyberrites could not answer. Of course, Sleebaggo had nothing constructive to work with in that regard, and Hudson was fighting her instincts to speak up. Which meant, from where he was standing, that Niles was seeing that this was going nowhere. But with Sleebaggo at the table, he would doubt if anything he was to say was going to come out in its entirety without getting interrupted, or berated for having the nerve to say something the senior Intelligence officer hadn't thought of himself. Which meant that he might need to use someone else as a mouthpiece... Which meant he would have to communicate with Taggert, let him be the one to speak. Especially since he was starting to think of some particular ways to try and go around the cageyness, if not downright obfuscation, by the Nyberrites. So, Niles reached for a PADD and quickly he tapped out a message, and he slid it towards his superior. "Sir," he simply said as he handed it over. Sir, if we can have the name for the ship that found Cmdre, I can probably backtrack her to where they found him. For, one thing one Joshua Niles had learned to do, and proved he could do, was to exploit data from communications relays and navigation beacons, and with a ship's name, he would have somewhere to start.

[ Avi Moz, in disguise as an Alpha Centauri monk, | Promenade ][...] Lynch. Avi clocked the human as he came through into the expansive promenade. Non-threatening, disloyal, stupid - the perfect place to start. "Traveller," she said sweetly from beneath the mask, stepping to block his path, "do you have a moment to talk about the coming Falla?" [Petty Officer Conor Lynch - Promenade]"...Priest?" He greeted in return, the word a question as he came to a stop in front of the robed and masked figure. This was either a holy person or one of those masked sex pests who went to functions at What Lies Beneath. Lynch tried to step around her, but there was something in him that wouldn't let him just ignore a person and walk on by, even if they were trying to sell him something. Even if the mask was low-key freaking him out some. "Tha' a party or the end o' the world?" Perhaps it was both. If he was facing the end of the world he was pretty sure he'd throw a party.

Like, ten minutes before you got here." It was about then that Mott realized Matt hadn't actually answered his question. "You're her friend right? How come I've never seen you?" [Matthew Harmon - Avi's Workshop]
Matt was pleased the kid was shrewd enough to not try and haggle for a higher price. Three thousand credits was more than enough for a child. He'd probably spend it all on industrial grade paste or something. Unfortunately, he didn't give much useful information that Matt didn't already know. Still, it seemed he was doing his best so he'd get his money.
"So are you going to tell me your real name now?" he said as he shook the kids hand and put in the details for the transfer again. As Mott explained the situation, all of Matt knew, he nodded as if he wasn't aware of it all. "Yes, that was very bad form from Starfleet," Matt agreed with frustration in his voice. It was very easy to sympathise with that given they had done the same thing to him. "They didn't tell me either." Eventually the Bolian kid gave some new information, not that it was particularly helpeful. Apparently she'd left just before he arrived dressed like a ghost.
"I've been away from the station for a while," he said answering the question about why he hasn't seen him before. It was an honest answer, but it wasn't the truth. The question about if he was her friend or not he dodged, hoping the answer to the second part of the kids questioning would be acceptable. The question now was what to do with this kid. With the Nyberrite's all over the place he wasn't comfortable leaving Avi's kid alone in the workshop under her name. He was likely being overly cautious, but he didn't need something happening to this kid on his conscience. It also was possible he'd be some help in finding his mother. "Let's go look for your mum, then I'll get you the rest of your money," he said indicating for him to follow. Matt carefully avoided any suggestion that the kid's answer wasn't good enough. It wasn't, but that wasn't his fault.

[ NPC - Cpl Bolton Ramius - Promenade, Front Ear Station ]{Quoted Posts} [NPC - Rimi Mora - Promenade, Front Ear Station ] There was a hint of relief when the gentleman greeted her warmly. "So, how long is your ship going to be docked here at the station?" Joshua Niles (Bolton) {TW: Predatory behaviour}"Ah, Rimi," Bolton repeated, holding that earlier smile of his. "A pretty name all right." For a pretty little thing, he did not add, thought. She was either very young, or very naive all right, but he wasn't about to complain about either. "And I'm Bolton," he finally answered. Like hell he was about to give his last name, and in fact he'd been tempted to give an alias, just in case.
But somehow he didn't have the impression she'd be much of a risk to him in that regard.
Before long, they were just outside what looked like a seedier establishment, just the sort that Ramius would prefer, and there was another question to answer. "No idea. I'm just ashore because I happen to be off-watch and didn't feel like getting rack time right off the bat."

[Lt. Cmdr. Pierce Taggert - Front Ear - CO's Office]Well, that was fishy alright. Refusal to tell them where their own missing person had been found? From what he'd heard about the incident that lead up to the Commodore being on the Lusitania in the first place, hearing that response was like being draped in a quilt made of red flags. But the Commander kept his expression neutral, nodding in agreement as Tony explained they didn't have any interest in what the Alliance in whatever area the pod was located. When Josh slid a PADD over to him, he glanced down at it and briefly read the message before nodding a simply acknowledgement. While it was possible to do... the odds of them giving the ship name when they wouldn't give the coordinates were slim to none. He lifted his gaze back to the Colonel before he continued. "Commander Sleebaggo is correct. We have no interest in Alliance activities and have no intention of interfering with operations in that area. But Commodore Perry wasn't the only person on that ship. There are hundreds of men and women that are still missing, and thousands of friends and family worried about their loved ones. Comparing the location of the escape pod with the intended flight path of the Lusitania, and where we lost contact with them, is our best chance at finding out what happened and possibly rescuing the rest of the crew." Settling back in his chair, he rubbed a hand over the stubble on his chin, regarding the woman across from him as he waited for a response. "We will accept that data, though," he added, his gaze shifting briefly to the Romulan with her. "It's worth taking a look at, at least."

[Lt. Paawin Riyo - Front Ear - Primary Sickbay]As the counselor stepped forward and addressed the Commodore, Riyo nodded to let her know that her questions wouldn't interfere with the scans. Isaiah sent the security teams outside - which was a relief - and asked about using his office, to which the doctor nodded and gestured to the adjoining room. "Of course, make yourselves at home." He certainly wasn't going to be in there any time soon. Turning to face Dr. Bel once more, he gave a gracious smile at the offer to answer questions about the treatment he'd provided to Perry. "I do have a few questions for you. Can you tell me approximately when he was found, and what state he was in at that time? Was he conscious, in a coma, in stasis?" His initial tricorder readings looked good, but he would need to know just how long he had received treatment by the Alliance as well as comparing to his old medical records before he could start getting a clearer picture of the man's condition, then and now.
