[ Avi Moz | Exiting the Promenade towards cargo storage ]"Shut up." Jab. Avi twisted something pointed and sizzing hot into Lynch's side, then hauled him into an alcove in a side corridor away from concerned citizens. With Lynch pressed into the corner, Avi (still masked like a monk), kept hold of this side of his head and displayed her little tool. The active hot tip of an oxide awl crackled too close to his face. "Get it?" Satisfied her messages of cooperate-or-pain had been delivered, Avi keyed in the code for the mechanical hatch and urged old Connor Lynch inside. It had been awhile since Avi had dragged someone off to address grievances, but she was confident she still had the knack. [Petty Officer Conor Lynch - Promenade -> Secret Sex Place]When the sensation of burning reached his brain, he inhaled through his teeth in a hiss. The priest was everywhere it seemed, lightning fast and not giving him a chance to catch his breath let alone right himself or fight back. Lynch eyed the little device of burning pain that she held up to his face - his handsome, expressive face - and risked a movement to nod. "I gerrit."He stumbled from the alcove and into the room beyond, tripping over the lip from the hatch. When he finally realised what was going on, he turned to face his assailant. "I got nothin' on me worth robbin'." He zipped his jacket up further toward his neck, lest she decide to take his clothes for whatever sexy reason. Then he held up his hands.

[ Avi Moz | Cargo storage ]Avi was used to survival. She seemed to actively seek opportunities to practice the associated skills. Skills of evasion, self-defense, pre-emptive self-defense, and justified bullying, as examples. It now came naturally to transform fear into aggression, worry into confidence; if she didn't she'd hardly be as effective as she was. The strong stocky Bolian shut the hatch behind them and only then removed her hood and mask. Pleased she had Lynch's compliance for the moment, she smiled and approached. "No, I didn't think so. And I'm not a theif." She gave him a rough shove for good measure and began rooting through his pockets. She tossed whatever she found onto the floor. Wrapped candies, a paper notebook, an emblem badge from the Soteria (Avi paused to look at it, then chucked it away as well), and a personal communicator. What she didn't find was an Nyberrite ID. Lynch properly searched, Avi stepped back and crossed her arms. "Why is Soteria at Frontier?" Felicity Ellis (Lynch)

[ NPC - Cpl Bolton Ramius - Spotty Alibi Front Ear Station ]{Quoted Posts} [NPC - Rimi Mora - Spotty Alibi, Promenade, Front Ear Station ] Bolton, as he was called, had told Rimi that she had a pretty name. It was rather charming of him, and thus far he seemed to be checking all the gentlemanly boxes. There was a part of Rimi that wished Candy was there so that she could shower Rimi with praise for putting her winning formula to use. As they got inside, Rimi's eyes scanned the room. She was quickly reminded why she never came to the Spotty Alibi... especially alone. Though, she was hardly today. Here, she had Bolton with her. "So, this is it," Rimi said, hoping a little extra charm in her voice would help to sell the place. "Admittedly it's not high end, but it's the holes in the wall that have the most character, right?" About that time, a glass broke at the other end of the bar. A pair Orions began to shove one another before the bartender carried them another round. Her mind seemed to turn over the response to he query about not knowing when his ship would leave. "Wow, that busy, huh? I guess it's possible you could be leaving sooner rather than later. Such a shame."

With a name like the Spotty Alibi, Bolton knew to expect something closer to a dive bar than anywhere else. And he certainly wasn't disappointed by the looks of the place. Darker, dingier, with a rougher custom? He could live with that all right, and he was getting a distinct feeling that Rimi, she wasn't exactly from that kind of world herself. Even better: young, naive, and completely out of her element. Hell, this was as good a setup as he could possibly hope for.
"It's a fine place, where you find real people being themselves. Not the pretty places where the Fleeters meet up and where they take fancy guests." This was very much his way to hunt, to say some of what he judged to be true and genuinely believed, and mixing it with some charm. Made it all the better later on...
And, she seemed to really want him to stick around. Seriously, could she make his life even easier? "It's the life with the Alliance, Rimi. You go where duty calls. Sometimes, you get to have some fun, though. Like right now."
Then, he turned his attention towards the bar. He needed to start getting alcohol into that girl all right. "I'll be having a boilermaker, with the best whiskey you've got. And whatever the lady wants, you make it only with top-shelf, right?"

{Quoted Posts} [LCDR Tony Sleebaggo & LTJG Chloe Hudson - CO's Office]
The sciolist lieutenant seemed to think himself so clever passing a PADD to Taggart. It's not like it was a painfully obvious move that everyone could see through. He might as well have just leaned in and whispered in Taggart's ear. The young man was far less smooth than he thought he was. Sleebaggo was once again not at all impressed by the young man, though he was curious what he'd suggested. Unfortunately, Vasser was insistent
Chloe was disappointed that the Captain still declined to jump in, and so she shifted her case back at the Alliance's soldiers of fortune. However, as Vasser's sophistry became too much for the young officer to bear, she decided to speak up. "With all due respect," which was none, "You aren't sharing pertinent information. You know that, we know that, so there's no need for the charade and faux sympathy," she stared icily at Vasser, wishing that Matthew was there.
Sleebaggo's face went red with frustration, he was torn between more annoyed at the presumptions of his naive subordinate, or the reticence of the Colonel to provide anything beyond empty platitudes. After a moment of reflection he decided the former was worse. "What is Lieutenant Commander Quinn required for?" he asked trying to move on from Ensign Hudson's outburst. [ LT Joshua Niles - Ops, Front Ear Station ]{Spoiler}How the hell had Sleebaggo made it to his current rank? That was the sort of mystery that Niles would very much have liked to get into at some point, but was also somewhat afraid of considering in the first place. All he had done thus far had been trying to brown-nose his way with the Nyberrites so deep that he was probably just a few centimeters short of smelling their eyeballs. Commander Taggert, on the other hand, was most certainly a far steadier presence, and he clearly was going to be the voice of reason with this current not-interrogation.
But Hudson, well, she had said what he would have loved to say himself but had been firmly restraining from doing so thus far. The last thing he needed was for the Captain to see him as insubordinate, or to decide that he was not doing things just how she would have done them to come down upon him like the wrath of a bespectacled angry goddess. Now, the matter of Commander Quinn being further pursued by Sleebaggo seemed like a desperate attempt to push past the fact that his right hand was actually more interested in getting to the crux of the matter than he was, and decidedly less interested in future abilities to schmooze or advance herself in with them in the future. Now, Niles certainly would like to pose a few questions of his own, but given the thin ice he was on and the deep water beneath it he had to deal with, he did have to tread carefully. "Commander Taggert, if I may ask the Colonel and her party a few questions of my own?"Now, he could only hope that his superior would trust him, and that he would be allowed to speak without what passed for an intelligence officer going off on him... not that it wouldn't be interesting watching Sleebaggo making an arse of himself again. [Capt. Judith Eastman(-Williams), PhD - Captain Eastman's Office]Judy couldn't discern exactly why, but she could tell Vasser was stalling. It wasn't even subtle. As such, as she brought the coffee to the conference table, she intervened in the conversation for the first time. "What's the matter, Colonel?" she asked, with a tone of concern that contrasted with the understandably accusatory notes coming from elsewhere around the table. Col. Helena Vasser | Maj. Chromar | Alpha Sgt. Gorsk | Dr. Bel | Capt. Rez Jogann | 2nd Lt. Neema | | | | | | |
[CO's Office, Front Ear Station ] Helena Vasser watched as they all came undone at the slightest suggestion that they weren't in full control. The first to go was Chloe Hudson. She was barely a Lieutenant, and one could still smell the ensign on her breath. How much latitude was she being given? To presume she could tell the commanding officer of another vessel what they thought and felt? And eager, Mr. Niles, had apparently had his wrist slapped enough times to know to ask permission as he turned to Lt. Commander Taggert to do just that. The acting-Intelligence officer was attempting to salvage niceties around the table, but his subordinate was clearly off her leash. Vasser simply sat back in her seat. She wasn't about to be rattled by the likes of these two. And then, came Judy. Perhaps she could sense that a simple verbal exchange was degrading to the point where nothing of value could be salvaged. She had asked Vasser what was wrong, and the colonel only gave her a wry smile. "Why would you think something is wrong?" Vasser asked emptily. She lifted the bank of her hand and spoke into the communicator. -♦- "Vasser to Jogann," -♦- she said into the communicator mounted on the back of her hand. -♦- "Jogann, here. Go ahead, Colonel," came the reply over the comms. -♦- "Is Mr. Quinn still with you?" -♦- she asked. =A= "I'm here, Colonel," =A= came Isaiah's voice. A genuine smile spread across Vasser's face as she addressed the science officer. -♦- "Hello, Isaiah. That little task that was asked of you? Is it done?" -♦-=A= "Yes, Colonel," =A- he replied. Perhaps he was about to say more, but Vasser spoke first. -♦- "Excellent. Thank you, Commander. You're as dependable as I remember. Vasser out." -♦- Vasser's eyes moved towards Judy. "You inherited quite the officer in Quinn. I'd advise you to hold on to that one." The Colonel then pushed her chair back from the desk and rose to her feet. "I will see to it that the device is delivered to your engineers. If there's nothing further, Captain, we will be leaving."The colonel's words certainly seemed to catch Neema off guard. The Anabaj looked towards Chromar who had followed the Colonel's example and stood from the table as well. Neema did the same and clasped her hands behind her back.

{Quoted Posts} [Ensign Aleiana Kniffin - Primary Sickbay - Frontier Station]
Ana looked up as her senior officer seemed to be heading to her. She smiled, almost apologetically, but caught herself. She turned it into a polite smile with the appropriate defference. "Sir" she offered as he addressed her.
"Yes Sir" she answered when he assumed her name. Then nodded once when he bid her take a scan of the Commodore! She shuddered internally. Captains made the worst patients, she could only imagine what kind of a patient a commodore would make, though the feeling in the room seemed anything but routine. The outside team of beings. The senior officers. The almost palpable tension and worry. She took a breath and headed towards the biobed, making sure to not block the Commodore from anyone that was currently engaged with him, nor to interrupt.
She waited for her moment and then looked to the man on the bed, giving him a professional head not.
"Pleasure to meet you Commodore Perry" she offered with a smile."I am Ensign Kniffin. Dr Kniffin. May I ask you to lie back so I might conduct a scan?" she asked politely, hands clasped behind her back, poised so that if he complied she would be able to start the scan promptly. She was of course listening to the conversations that were going on around her. The questions, the reports etc. She gathered that the Commodore had been "found" and that he'd had some memory lapses. For now she would concentrate on the task she had been given. It was too early to try and unravel a mystery. She had barely been on the station for more that 3 hours. She would not overstep her mark this early on!
[NPC - Commodore (Reserves) Calvin Perry - Sickbay, Front Ear Station]"I remember coming to in an escape pod, and being in it for a time. I can't say how long, but I had some rations left."From the counselor, Calvin shifted his attention to Dr. Kniffin, who seemed to be having some big first-day nerves. He was, after all, lying down to begin with. "Look how good a patient I am. I do what I'm told, before I'm told to do it," he joked. "Go ahead, Doctor." [ NPC - Cpl Bolton Ramius - Spotty Alibi Front Ear Station ]
"Ah, Rimi," With a name like the Spotty Alibi, Bolton knew to expect something closer to a dive bar than anywhere else. Like right now." Then, he turned his attention towards the bar. He needed to start getting alcohol into that girl all right. "I'll be having a boilermaker, with the best whiskey you've got. And whatever the lady wants, you make it only with top-shelf, right?" [NPC - Lieutenant (j.g.) Yvonna Teller-Wright - Sickbay, Front Ear Station ] Yvonna nodded as she spoke with Commodore Perry. He seemed to recall the escape pod and even being conscious in the pod. She waited for Dr. Kniffin to speak about the tests she had to run with the commodore before proceeding when an appropriate opening arose. "So, you recall the evacuation, or at least being in the escape pod for a while?" she asked hoping to sure up his timeline. "Do you remember anything after that? Perhaps the first time you can recall not being in the pod?"
[NPC - Rimi Mora - Spotty Alibi, Promenade, Front Ear Station ] Bolton certainly seemed kind enough. He had certainly offered to buy her a drink. And top-shelf no less. That was supposed to be a good sign. She didn't think Candy drank anything unless it came from the top-shelf. Bolton was definitely checking all the boxes. It seemed like all of Candy's tips were paying off. She was turning over some of the stuff he'd said before about duty and going where it took him. She knew she needed to pay more attention. Yet, when asked what she wanted to drink, her mind was at a blank. She wasn't exactly sure what a boilermaker was. Perhaps it was best to stick to what she knew. "Um... a strawberry daiquiri, please," she ordered. Yet, part of her wondered if this place even had strawberries. It didn't matter. She was here... with Bolton... and no was fussing about ages or shooing her out the door. "So, you're having fun already, huh? Maybe we can have a little more." she asked smiling. Her eyes scanned the rest of the bar. "How about a game?" There's a Dom-jot table over there."

[Lt. Cmdr. Pierce Taggert - Front Ear - CO's Office]His brow furrowed as he watched the Colonel carefully, reading the way she subtly responded to each of those talking to her. "In a moment, Lieutenant," he told Josh curtly. Taggert wasn't done with his own line of questioning, though it was painfully obvious the woman wouldn't say another word until they had spoken to Commander Quinn. Pierce was about to lift his hand to give the scientist a call when the Colonel did it for him. And she expected that to be the end of it? Rising from his seat as she did, Taggert pushed back his frustration, and took a step towards the woman, his gaze almost imploring as he made eye contact with her. "Colonel, for just a moment imagine it was the Soteria that went missing without a trace. Imagine we found one of the crew in an escape pod and brought him back to the Alliance. Wouldn't you want us to give over any and all information we had that might help the Alliance search for the rest of the ship and crew?" It was a gamble, playing on her humanity. But professionalism hadn't worked. Taggert gave her a moment to consider his words, his gaze shifting to Chromar at her side. "We'll also need that escape pod back. It is, after all, Federation property..." At the very least, the pod itself might be able to yield some clues...

[Lt. Paawin Riyo - Front Ear - Primary Sickbay]Riyo nodded in understanding at the Breen's explanation. Not conscious, but not in stasis... Understandable that there had been some problems, especially depending on how long he had been in that pod. "Other than the hypotension, did there seem to be any recent injuries? Either fresh, or injuries that started healing on their own without medical treatment?" That might help them pinpoint what happened to the Lusitania, but it was a long shot. Gesturing for Dr. Bel to follow him, he made his way over to a desk in the corner of the room. Setting the PADD down, he began to enter commands into the computer, and in a matter of moments the Commodore's medical file from before his disappearance appeared on the small monitor. A few more commands, and it started updating with the information received from the PADD. While that was updating, he tried to think if there were any more questions that would be useful.

[CPO Jovireh Velal - Front Ear - Blue Beta]Jov sighed softly when she heard the annoying man's voice getting closer to their table. At least she had a large plate of food in front of her and a limited time to get through it, so that seemed to be at least a decent enough excuse to not carry on a conversation with him. At least to her. Lea was a bit more social than she was anyway, she Jovireh turned her attention back to her meal and let her friend do the talking. Though she was still listening carefully for any changes in her tone that might suggest a desire for intervention.

[Blue Beta - Promenade] When Leanna had offered to give their newest customer, his drink on the house. She hadn't anticipated that he would decide to come over and engage her and Jov in further conversation. Perhaps it was pregnancy fog mixed with her ability to be social and be her usual self. Not that she reflected on that for too long as he spoke about the drink, before making the introductions. A quick glance to Jov told Lea that she was focused on her food, leaving Lea to answer Ted. " Think nothing of it and pleased to meet you Ted, I'm Leanna" she replied, aware that Jov would be listening should she need her. Whilst she waited for a response, Lea took another sip of her drink, unsure as to how this would go.

[NPC - Corporal Ted Paul - Blue Beta Bar & Grill, Front Ear StationTed made himself comfortable. Why wouldn't he, since he was being welcomed so nicely. "Colonel Vasser seemed to think you all wanted to chase us off the station, but she's got a stick up her butt," he observed. "Who runs this place?" he then asked, on an unrelated note, and with the expectation that it was not a youngish pregnant woman.

[Matthew Harmon - Avi's Workshop -> Promenade] "I guess I'll just have to come up with a name for you," Matt shrugged when it became clear the kid wouldn't give up his name. "I'm going to call you...hmm...Frederick. Fred," he said. At least 'Fred' decided to have the good sense to follow without much of a fight. As they headed onto the promenade and started looking for Avi the inevitable stream of questions from a curious child began. "I don't have a mate, no," he said with a hint of sadness about what was not to be, "You're probably right, my family isn't too large," he continued answering, "Are you good at stealing things?" he asked back, his mind briefly contemplating if 'Fred' would perhaps come in handy one day. "I've been in jail," he nodded, "Yeah...that's part of why I was away for a while, good guess." He seemed like a smart kid. Maybe too smart for his own good. "Now, do you know which direction your mum went? Or where she might be going?" he asked as thy stood in the busy promenade. [ Mott Moz | Out and about ]At the sound of a grown-up human swearing in Bolian, Mott gasped. He'd never heard any humans say 'frederik'! Mott turned and jabbed him in the arm. "Don't call me that[/u]," he scolded. There must be something in the ventilation making everyone over five foot tall act like tetchy idiots. "I'm called Mott, if you can figure out how to pronounce it properly, ochi. And I'm good at loads of things, not just stealing. I'm a biologist, archaeologist, and an inventor. So, I don't need to know which direction Avi went. I can just look at ..." At this point, Mott began rooting around in his backpack which was overfull. He had a hard time locating it, but when he did the dramatic pause was well over. He produced it with vigor regardless. "...this!" Mott held up a palm-sized, puck-shaped device that was clearly hand-made. It has some switches, a stubby antennae, and small screen. "It's a tracker." Matthew Harmon

Apparently 'Frederick' didn't like that moniker, which made Matt laugh at him as finally gave in and gave him his name. Or at least a name. "Pleasure to properly meet you, Mott," he said. "I've got a bit of archaeology experience myself," he added as the kid went through his many talents. Matt's expedition to Kerellia wasn't the greatest example of archaeology, and somehow he ended up coming out with fancy modern technology and no ancient artefacts. It was fruitful, but disappointing.
When Mott produced a tracking device however, Matt was very impressed. Hopefully it worked. "Well done. You seem like you'd make a good spy too!" he said with encouragement. "Lead the way!" he said indicating for Mott to take the lead.
