[ PO2 Étienne Fournier (bio) | Shuttle Repair Bay 2 ]
Étienne Fournier, engineer from Alpha Centauri, was pulling a double as a favor for his bestie Yande Djigo who needed to rearrange her schedule so she wouldn't miss her niece's race. He returned now to the shuttle repair bay from the Promenade for another go, hot raktajino in his hand. It was a bend on the rules, bringing food in, but he'd be quick. Arriving in the shuttle repair bay, he found it as Yande had described - the pieces of the Orunmila spread out like an incomplete skeleton, the holes aching to tell their story. It was a bit grim, seeing a spaceship in small pieces, stripped of all the parts, people, and context that had made it a ship at all. "Hello, Lieutenant That Arse," he greeted pleasantly as he crossed behind Shavan Th'zhaar on his way to take over monitoring the Engineering station. It took him several difficult seconds to realize what he'd just heard himself say. He furrowed his dark brows and mouthed the words again to himself. He'd said what to the senior officer with the shapely - Étienne cleared his throat loudly and began to explain. "Sir, I apologize, but you could get it." Shavan Th'zhaar

{Quoted Posts} [SCPO Jovireh Velal - Front Ear - CSO's Office --> Promenade]Jovireh had spent the day with the Computer working on setting up a new system that would make it easier to wade through the never ending river of reports that came her way on a daily basis. It had taken a substantial amount of trial and error, but finally she had a working automated system. Her team would now transfer the reports the her rather than leaving a stack of PADDs on her desk, and the Computer would sort them by level of urgency. After sending out the memo with the changes effective at the start of the next day, Jov stood from her desk and stretched. Her body loudly protested the change in position, making it clear it was past time the Chief got out of her office for awhile. Rather than making use of the replicator as she had fallen into the new habit of doing, she decided to go to the Promenade for a meal and change of scenery. And hopefully a conversation with someone other than the Computer. It was a long turbolift ride, which she spent the majority of working out the kinks in her back and neck. The door opened at her destination, and she started to make her way towards the Blue Beta, stopping when she saw Kova watching something with an expression of slight amusement. "Did I miss a show?" she asked curiously, stopping beside the Andorian woman and following her gaze to the Beta. [ Kova Sh'qaleq - Promenade, Front Ear Station ] As entrenched in the live love story as she was, Kova found her attention pulled away by the approach of the station's Chief of Security. Her antennae had curled slightly as they sensed the woman's approach long before she had asked if she had missed anything. "Only a grand romantic gesture," Kova said. She watched as the woman returned to her upright position, though she didn't really seem taken away with her suitor's proclamation of love. Instead she seemed anxious... embarrassed even. "Or perhaps you're just in time for a tragedy."Kova continued to watch as the woman smoothed out her hair. She was whispering something. Her demeanor and reaction seemed to confirm Kova's observation. She sighed heavily, and shook her head, unable to take her eyes off the romantic trainwreck before her. "Clearly, she doesn't recognize how lucky she is," Kova noted. The Andorian was convinced that the heartless trollop was probably part Vulcan.
Tag: Jovireh Velal [SCPO Jovireh Velal - Front Ear - Promenade]Jov chuckled softly at Kova's explanation, her own gaze finally landing on the couple in question. "I never would have guessed you to be a romantic," she replied with amusement in her tone when the Andorian said the woman didn't know how lucky she was. Romance had always been overrated in Jov's mind. Sure, it had been a sweet gesture when Conor showed up after six months with flowers. But that had ended before it began; and she had been involved with Shavan for a year now with nothing of the sort. Clearly romance wasn't the key to happiness as so many seemed to believe. That 'grand romantic gesture' very quickly degraded into something entirely unacceptable, as evident by the way the woman was shoving the man that continued to hold on to her. The Chief's grin turned into a scowl just as quickly, and without another word to Kova she made a purposeful beeline for the restaurant. Thankfully a swift knee to the groin was enough to get the man to stop his advancement, but Jovireh wasn't going to trust that would be the end of it. As she neared them, she announced her presence with a firm voice. "Whatever's going on, it's over. Sir, I suggest you leave and let her enjoy her meal in peace."[Elsewhere on the Promenade] The "Crewmen Johns" (as partners Beck and Smith had just started calling themselves at the start of their shift) had their hands full trying to keep a Bolian and a Bajoran away from each other. The civilians were putting up quite the struggle as they continued to try and throw punches around the security officers. It was only a matter of moments before Beck received a fist to his own jaw, at which point he tackled the Bajoran to the ground. [Blue Beta - Promenade] Jem smiled warmly as T'Laara answered her and asked how she was, before gesturing to her almost empty glass. " I'm very well thank you, nothing like a productive day to lift your spirits and sure I can get you another water" Jem replied still very much in a good mood. Not that Jem was going to question it and if she paid for it later with one of her famous headaches, well there was always the option of having Seamus take care of her. The Drag Queen enjoyed winding the Irishman up but her train of thought soon evaporated when the slight commotion nearby caught her attention. Almost making her forget what she was supposed to be doing as this Karina reacted to what had just happened. Well this was most unexpected, not that Jem was a prude or against PDA's. Although it was becoming apparent that the recipient hadn't expected it and Jem was in no hurry to move just yet. She couldn't help but be a bit of a gossip and convinced herself that by staying a little longer she could intervene if necessary. " Well things just got a little interesting" she said in a hushed tone, living for the drama. [Blue Beta, Promenade]Ken knew what had gotten into him; it was unbridled attraction for this dish before him in the Blue Beta. "I'd like to get into you," he responded to Karina's question, as he reached out to bring her closer once more. Their bodies were flush against each other when Karina began pushing him away. "Stop it, Ken! This isn't the time or the place!""There'll never be a better time, Karina! We've wasted enough time dancing around our chemistry." He leaned in to trail his lips along the side of her exposed neck. "The only dancing you've done is around my best friend!" And with that, Karina drew back her knee and then let it loose. Ken paused in his amorous ministrations and for one comical moment, he remained completely still, mouth agape. Then he dropped to the ground and doubled over, clutching his crotch. [ T’Laara - Blue Beta] While glancing back at her PADD, T’Laara continued listening to the unfolding drama. And it appeared she was not the only one, as Jem Sparkles remained where she was. “Fascinating, yes,” she agreed in a similar quiet tone. Even a few people outside had stopped to look. However, Karina did not appear to think the man’s actions were very romantic after all. T’Laara remained in her seat, as the woman did not appear to be in immediate danger, but was no longer acting as if paying no attention. Instead the Vulcan watched them impassively, one eyebrow tilted up. Then came Karina’s retort, the kick, and his expression— Even as Jovireh Velal entered to diffuse the situation, it was too much. She burst into laughter. Jem Sparkles , Felicity Ellis , area

Shavan Th’zhaar - Shuttle Repair Bay 2] Several ideas were forming in his mind as Shavan again looked over the layout of the wreckage. Typing a few things into his computer, he idly rolled up his sleeves and unzipped his uniform shirt a little further. A moment later, a voice spoke close behind him just as he placed another twisted chunk of metal in the scanner. He paused and turned around. The engineer who had spoken was managing to appear simultaneously bold and awkward, but most importantly, looked delicious. A sharp grin crossed his face. Of course, he always stayed strictly professional on duty. (Err, almost always?) Though instead of taking offense, he just laughed. “Don’t worry, I know.”Stepping away from the science station, he moved closer to Fournier. “You’re cute. How about we—” Behind him, the computer chimed as the scan completed. Shavan’s antennae twitched back, but it otherwise went ignored as his gaze trailed over the engineer. And what he was holding, which looked just as tempting right now. “—Hey, is that a raktajino?” Without waiting for an answer, he snatched the cup out of his hands and chugged it. Kaya Som

[Blue Beta - Promenade] The only thing missing in Jem's opinion was the popcorn as the romantic and very dramatic scene continued to play out in front of her, T'Laara and the entire bar. Normally she wouldn't be so obvious when it came to watching such emotions play out but well everyone was entitled to a one off weren't they?. In fact Jem found herself grinning as T'Laara agreed with in a equally quiet tone. But then, then came the piece de resistance as the Humans would say. Oh this was good and Jem couldn't help but gawp even further as Ken got what he deserved and fell to the ground clutching his prized jewels. This was better than anything she had witnessed lately and as T'Laara laughed, Jem cheered loudly, especially as Jovireh intervened. The Betazoid was oblivious at letting her emotions show so prominently and there was not an ounce of embarrassment as she turned to T'Laara. " Oh that ... well that was glorious and so funny with the way he went down" she remarked, joining in with the humour of it all.

[ Lt.JG Rin Zakir - Ops Centre, Front Ear Station] He had to admit, he was a little taken aback at the directness of the commander when she thanked him, as well as the expression of her relief at being a lot less boring than she'd feared. "I aim to please", he shrugged with a small smile. Wait, was that a little too casual? What was he thinking? he didn't have much time to dwell on it before the intrusion by a civilian who hoped that they weren't intruding. With a sigh, he stood from his console, ready to escort the man out, but it seemed as though Ellis was familiar with him. Oh? Was this a regular thing then? He wondered was to the man's response, but something a little more pressing caught his attention in the form of Ensign Ev'ewa announcing that there were fights breaking out all over the promenade! That put his butt firmly (and a little too quickly) back in his seat as he keyed in to view footage of the area. "Confirmed, what are they serving down there?", he spoke, before realising that he had said that second part out loud. Oh Prophets... "Ahem, diverting security teams there now", he then spoke a little more seriously as he tapped his commbadge. Should he wait for the order to do so? No, this was kind of his job and he doubted that the commander would object. =/\="Ops to Security, we've got reports of fights breaking out all over the Promenade. Looks like fun, but you might want to break 'em up"=/\=, he announced before realising what he had said. What was up with him today, did he want to be fired? Not very professional, Rin, he mentally berated himself as the confirmation from main security came through that they had received and were on their way. Soon, there should be a lot more yellow shirts down there, hopefully doing as asked and not joining in the 'fun'. If ordered, he would attend himself, but as he turned back to Ellis, he remembered...Sir Doug, was it? He glanced from him to the commander, again wondering how he would choose to react to her bluntness.

[Felicity Ellis - Ops Centre]Once the Security Officer completed his rundown of the updates for the following day's drill, Felicity nodded. "Thank you, Lieutenant Rin. That was a lot less boring than I feared it might be."She stopped for a moment, surprising herself with her candour. She hadn't meant it to sound quite that honest. Sure, reports usually were mind-numbing, and sure, she tended to be quite relaxed with the crew, but had that been too familiar? She decided to ignore it and carry on like nothing had happened. Sir Dugris Zaman's entrance afforded her that very opportunity. Felicity placed down the PADD that the science team had delivered to her, and turned to face the El Aurian. "You always hope to intrude."Someone gasped. Felicity blinked, frowned, and then eyed the remainder of the coffee in her mug. She definitely hadn't intended to say that. She'd thought it, but she'd never say it. "My apologies, Sir Doug," she began, just as consoles began to light up all over Ops. "I always enjoy your intrusions.""Commander, there are reports of fights breaking out all over the Promenade," Ev'ewa announced, before looking straight over at Rin for confirmation. "Well, at least you know these fights aren't my fault," he proclaimed in his self-deprecating way, having been ensnared in a little tiff last week. "Commander, I have to ask, how come you're not using your foremost expert on the Orunmila debris?" he asked with characteristic frankness. "And are you doing something new with your hair? Because if you are, it's not working."As soon as those words left his mouth, Sir Doug's face contorted in shock. "What did I just say?"

[Felicity Ellis - Ops Centre]"Ah, so you're a giver," Felicity said to Rin when he claimed he aimed to please, and then she winked at him.She was horrified. Was she flirting? With a subordinate? Well, she wasn't that much older than him, and she was single - so why shouldn't she? What the actual f^$k."How exactly would you be the foremost expert on the debris of a ship you've never even been on?" She asked Zaman tartly, inwardly wincing at her tone, but realising too that she had thought that. She placed her coffee mug down on a console, pulled out a tricorder and began scanning the contents. She'd been poisoned somehow, she had to have been. How would her drinking dodgy truth-coffee affect the others, though? And then, the fatal blow. With one hand Felicity patted her usual high ponytail, suddenly very self-conscious. "You just said something mean," she responded, feeling very hard done by. She hadn't done anything to her hair - did that mean it looked bad all the time!? Meanwhile, Ev'ewa, daughter of K'turtang, was hurtling across the air, straight for Lieutenant Doug Dimmadome. She collided with the unsuspecting man and the pair were knocked to the ground, where they proceeded to bite, slap and make out with each other. "What the hell is going on!?" Suddenly, it seemed like everyone was doing something more interesting than their jobs. "Rin! Lock us down, nobody gets into Ops!"There was something in the air.

[SCPO Jovireh Velal - Front Ear - Promenade]Jov chuckled softly at Kova's explanation, her own gaze finally landing on the couple in question. As she neared them, she announced her presence with a firm voice. "Whatever's going on, it's over. Sir, I suggest you leave and let her enjoy her meal in peace." [Blue Beta, Promenade]There was a flash of something decidedly malicious in Karina's eye as the Security Chief approached and laid down some law. "You hear that, Ken? It's over! Leave me in peace!" Then she kicked him again, this time when he was down. Ken was still curled in on himself in attempt to protect his trouser treasure. Even through the groans of pain, he continued to protest his affection. "It's only just begun, Karina!" He took her second kick and then reached out to grab a hold of her foot. He proceeded to kiss her shoes. [Ensign Nork - Public Replimat, Promenade]Nork's superior Vulcan muscles flexed, and he lifted the Bajoran off his feet. With an angry roar, he tossed the man to the side. Someone touched his shoulder roughly from behind, and Nork swung around to strike at the individual responsible. His left hook connected and rang true, and before his assailant hit the ground, he was already rounding on someone else. All scuffles that had begun small were increasing in participants and energy. The Replimat teetered on the precipice of carnage, and Nork revelled in it. It fed his need. He let out a primal shriek and flung himself into the fray.

[Elsewhere on the Promenade] The "Crewmen Johns" (as partners Beck and Smith had just started calling themselves at the start of their shift) had their hands full trying to keep a Bolian and a Bajoran away from each other. The civilians were putting up quite the struggle as they continued to try and throw punches around the security officers. It was only a matter of moments before Beck received a fist to his own jaw, at which point he tackled the Bajoran to the ground. Shouts of 'injustice' erupted from the bystanders, and in a few more moments the Crewmen both found themselves in the middle of a wrestling tangle of bodies. [Ambassador L'Sho, former Primary of Talor, former Supreme Commander of the Talorian Armada - Promenade]One moment L'Sho had his two carefully wrapped Cakes of Cheese in his hand, and the next he did not. He looked down at the floor, where the cakes had landed, his gaze dangerously impassive. The Original Gangsta and the Oreo Surprise were destroyed, parts of their guts spread all over the Promenade walkway outside. As two klingons ran toward what seemed to be a melee unfolding in front of him, they added further insult to his cake injury by stomping the remains, showering his legs with sweet cream cheese splatter. The Promenade was chaos. L'Sho's job had always been to bring order to chaos. He stepped gracefully over the murdered desserts and directly into the crowd, who were now chanting inanely about injustice of some kind. They knew nothing of such things. He unclasped and then removed the upper part of his robe, leaving his chest exposed and his clothing hanging over his hips. Blood and other such bodily fluids were difficult to get out of whites, and he'd already exceeded his replicator allotment for the month. Methodically he began to remove the brawlers, one at a time. His movements were unrushed, yet beautifully lethal. Limbs flexed and stretched, legs swept, a blow with the side of the palm was followed by another. He made good ground and soon he was upon the two Security officers. "I offer my assistance," he called to them. "Is there somewhere we can place the subdued? They are blocking the walkway." With a smooth motion he turned to gesture toward the unconscious bodies littered behind him.

" Oh that ... well that was glorious and so funny with the way he went down" she remarked, joining in with the humour of it all. [Blue Beta, Promenade]There was a flash of something decidedly malicious in Karina's eye as the Security Chief approached and laid down some law. [ Kova Sh'qaleq - Promenade, Front Ear Station ] Kova scoffed dismissing Jovireh's comment about her being a romantic. Clearly, the woman didn't know what she was talking about, and had learned very little about the Andorian in their earlier encounters. Luckily, the safety of the station did not lie solely upon her skills of observation. Yet, it seemed that she seemed intent upon intervening in the assault of wounded suitor. At least she could do something right. Kova rose to her feet and followed her into the Blue Beta Bar. Though, she was astounded by the words that left Velal's mouth as she seemed to think the suitor was some sort of aggressor. "What the hell are you doing?" Kova asked incredulously. "Can't you see she's the one assaulting him?! " As if Jovireh's ineptness as a security officer wasn't annoying enough, Kova could hear that cackling Vulcan at the bar. What was wrong with these people? Even while the suitor was devout in unyielding love, littering her feet with kisses, they acted as if he were something less. And the madness didn't seem to be isolated to those in the bar. While peering around to see if anyone else had some semblance of integrity, she could see the chaos beginning to brew outside the bar as well. An aimless melee... except for one person. Her eyes briefly fell upon the Talorian known as L'Sho. His chest bared for all to see. His movements deft and graceful like a dance. It was almost as if he were some sort of noble warrior, racing to rescue damsel. The only thing he needed was some to be mounted upon some white, furry steed and racing through the snow-covered mountains of Andoria. Though, those may not have been the only images of mounting that rushed the the Andorian's head. She shook her head, attempting to refocus on the matter at hand. She rounded upon Jovireh once more and began to poke the back of the woman's shoulder with single finger as she accentuated each word. "Do... your... job... green-blood! "

[ Lt.JG Rin Zakir - Ops Centre, Front Ear Station] Zak felt himself flush a little as not only did the the commander respond to his not so appropriate remark, but had she just winked at him? He must be going up in the world, and he had to admit that she was kind of...wait, what was he thinking? He shook his head as the discussion between Ellis and the intruder continued. "That was rude! I personally think the commander's hair is lovely, and that ass..." Prophets, Prophets Prophets, what had he just said? He once again flushed and allowed his head to connect quite harshly with the console in front of him. What was wrong with him? Everyone else too, come to think of it, and although he did not see Ellis scan her coffee, he couldn't help but here what happened next. So Ev'ewa had a thing for Dimmadome, who knew? He lifted his head to look on in bemusement at the impromptu make out session, until, that is, he was ordered to lock down Ops. Something in the air? That made sense, but it wasn't just in here. "Acknowledged, locking us down", he answered urgently, hands dancing quickly across the console in front of him. "Done, but I don't think it's just in here. I'm getting reports of fights and...other activities from across the station! I would recommend we keep anyone else from coming aboard until we find the source", he suggested, suddenly remembering how to be professional. That didn't last though, as his eyes once again feel to the couple on the floor. "Want me to fetch the fire extinguisher?", he then asked with a mischievous smirk. Just watching was also an option, but maybe, just maybe, he should also be working on the cause of this sudden loss of inhibition.

[NPC - Sir Dugris "Doug" Zaman MBE, FRS, PhD, JD, MBA, PE, RA, CPA - Ops]Sir Doug was even more inarticulate than usual, but on the bright side, so was everyone else. "I agree about that..." Sir Doug started, barely cutting himself off before he made an awfully inappropriate comment about Felicity's body. It wouldn't do for a gentleman like himself, not after his earlier transgression. "Nevermind."Then, he took a moment to actually use his brain. What could this be that was affecting them all? Maybe it was a collective dream - a simple test of pinching himself ruled that out. That left two options. "Either this is an aerosol, or it's telepathic meddling!" he announced. "Take these masks, just in case."Sir Doug happened to have very old face masks in his pocket, individually wrapped in old, polluting plastic bags. They were from a period in Earth's oh-so-distant past, as indicated by the printed pattern on them. {Click for Sir Doug's ancient masks.} He threw these to the crew. "Be a shame to cover your cute little face, but it's what we gotta do," he said not to Felicity, but to the twink at the tactical station. What was up with this thing? Sir Doug hadn't sampled from that side of the aisle in quite some time! Not that there was anything wrong with that.

"Sir, I apologize, but you could get it." [Lt. [Ensign Lochi Areinnye - Shuttle Repair Bay 2]The mystery of the Orunmilla was an event that took place before his time. He was still stationed on the Xanatos at the time. All he had was secondhand accounts from superstitious crew members and civilians. There was no investment in this assignment. But, there wasn't going to be many assignments that didn't tickle his fancy, thus was the life of Starfleet officers that were at the bottom of the ladder. A PADD in one hand, a glass of Green Earl Grey tea in the other. Grey eyes danced between the PADD and the labeled wreckage within the shuttlebay. Finishing his glass of tea, he threw it with all his might towards the force field. The cup passed through the barrier, drifting off into the vastness of space. A low laugh escaped his lips. Slowly it grew, until he was laughing so hard that he dropped his PADD. As the device hit the floor, the laughter came to an end. He stood straight up, looking around. What was going on? There was something happening to him... He wanted to shatter limbs beneath his palms and feet. He wanted to pull Jovireh tight to his body as their lips interlocked. Grey eyes closed as he shook his head. Where were these thoughts coming from? They were intrusive. They were loud. He needed to get out of here. Sit in the dark of his quarters with Smoke on his lap. Ride this out until these intense feelings passed. In a fluid motion, he dropped down and swept his PADD up as he made his way to the Lieutenant. Pulling a cigarette out of his pocket, he sparked it up with a silver Zippo. Clearing his throat, he announced himself. "Lieutenant, I'm going to head to my quarters. I'll be sure to forward mein findings to both the Science and Intelligence Departments." Exhaling smoke from his nostrils, he couldn't help but notice the vibes being off. "Am I interrupting something? It feels like I'm interrupting something."

[Lt. Shavan Th’zhaar - Shuttle Repair Bay 2] [...] Of course, he always stayed strictly professional on duty. (Err, almost always?) "Am I interrupting something? It feels like I'm interrupting something." Étienne did nothing to stop the lieutenant from comandeering his drink, and watched with fascination at the blue-green fellow's voracious thirst. He put his hand on his forehead and moved his hand back through his hair, trying to make sense of the sudden flush. He wanted the lieutenant. Shavan. Since when? Sure, he'd thought about it, but Étienne had thought plenty about plenty of people this way. But it had never been a problem keeping it professional, and the wanting was more fun. "Uh," he tried. And then that new intelligence ensign, Ensign Areinnye, who was smoking, strangely well beyond the rules for scientific settings. But, "No! Don't go!" Étienne blurted out. Then softer. "Don't go. Stay. Stay. Stay stay stay. Hey. Hey... Shhh. Stay." He moved forward, taking both men at their shoulders, guiding them together, closer, and looking up at them. He mouth was bone dry and he swallowed hard.
