" I have not been disobeying them," Amarande said, knowing that her manner might seem brusque but that was probably the Vulcan in her, " but confirming we can use the proper tools to get this done quickly and efficiently, which I have now done." She was already moving to sterilse her hands once more. Honestly, the Ensign didn't even need to be awake for this part. Cauterising the bleed and repairing the damaged blood vessel was what she'd liked to have done first and they were slippery things in all but very few creatures. Amarande did not possess any more hands than any other person in this room. " I am able to hold if you would like to repair," she said in the same quiet, contained voice she'd used the entire time. " It will need the both of us if we are to stabilise him properly. Once we have done so, he will be ready to move." The quicker they were in, the quicker they would finish. [...] He heard her offer up the ship but knew better in this instance than to talk back to his Captain. He would be picking up another patient, but ultimately this was his Captain's attempt at diplomacy. Perhaps they'd get something out of it, insofar as they helped replace the supplies they took up from him. Who knows, he might be able to trade up for what they use if he helped. He measured his words carefully as he spoke. "Strength in numbers. More o' us who go, louder we can be, scare off ányimal maybe? Get off dis wel so we can get back to our tech." He followed up the thoughts with a little disclaimer, as the odds of Starfleet wanting to poke around the Dog was more than a little disconcerting. "No questions asked, though. It's a kilometer to da Dog unless Baggy bring her here?" At Hust's admonishment of her sarcastic teasing, she almost smiled. Had she not been in the process of being barbarically mutilated, she might have even laughed. Costa had a strange sense of humour, though the situation in the tent wasn't exactly hilarious. She continued to watch the two doctors grapple for some kind of weird professional upper-hand, the frown on her forehead a result of her concentration on them, and on not passing out with the pain. "Pashangwala!" She forced out again through clenched teeth as her doctor poked mercilessly at the wounds he'd just tried to heal. With the application of the dressings, however, she began to calm. She instinctively knew when he was finished, and moved to stand up, pulling her top back over her injuries. As she tried to tuck the hem into her trousers a bout of dizziness caused her to sway a little on her feet. She steadied herself quickly enough, but a wave of shivers ran through her. For the first time since she'd arrived on Kerelia, she was cold. "Can have Baggy bring im 'ere," Costa confirmed use of the Dog as she slowly turned her head to look at Hust. "Can park where the Sodzha bucket was." Then she switched pretty fluidly to give the order. "Du-showxa wit im. Sasa ke?" She had handed her communicator to the Chief, but she still wanted her people to be completely aware of what was coming onboard, and Hust could deliver that message in a way that would leave no doubt. Then she returned her attention to the others as they gathered around Quinn. "Be less distance for im ta travel. Pack im up when ya ready, an' then we can try out tha' warp field idea of his."With a quick hand gesture behind her back, she signaled to Hust to follow her outside, before stepping away from the medical personnel herself. [...] " Understood and thank you, both of you, for your help, we should have him ready to move shortly".With Costa then leaving, Thea returned her focus to Quinn, picking up what she needed to cauterise the blood vessel. Guiding it carefully and once that had been completed successfully, the CMO then proceeded to repair the damaged blood vessel, aware of how tricky it could be, but luckily was able to do that. Standing back, all she needed to do now was clean the excess blood away and place a dressing and bandage around it, should the creature's saliva cause any further problems. " Okay, hopefully that should hold for the time being, we'll leave him for now, until the Dog gets here".[Ens. Isaiah Quinn - Triage, LZ-1, Kerelia] The young scientist was oblivious to the world around him, and yet his mind attempted to make sense of the bits it perceived. The sound of battle raged all around them, as the waves rocked the ship. Overhead, the sounds of swords clanging and muskets being fired rained down from the deck. He wanted so badly to get up, to aid his comrades, but he could barely stand, and two of his fellow crewman wouldn't allow him to forget about it as they treated his wound. One of them, with two shades of hair, poured pellets of gunpowder over the wound of his arm. The grainy powder only served to aggravate the wound. Then the other, with brilliant blue eyes and auburn hair stared down at him. He only saw her lips mouth the words: hold him. And just as quickly, she struck the flint together and watched as the spark ignited the powder on his flesh. He cried out in pain. Yet, whether it hurt or was simply a reaction to the sound, he couldn't tell.
Suddenly, the door burst open. These strange creature rushed in. It didn't even appear to be human. There auburn haired soldier quickly grabbed her rifle, spun and fired. The loud bang of the gun was deafening. The creature only slowed, forcing her to charge the creature impaling it with the bayonet. It let out a loud shriek... similar to what he'd heard when he'd been treading in the waters. The pair of officers lifted him up, and carried him up the stairs into the chaos.
It was as if Hell had spat upon their deck from the very depths of the ocean. So many of their comrades were attempting to fend off these beasts... these demons. Yet, their numbers seemed endless as they crawled up onto the deck from the side of the ships. Hope seemed lost, and her majesty's great navy was about to be drowned in blood as red as the coats they wore.
The his eyes suddenly fell upon that same one eyed pirate. A loud howl rang from her lips as her crew accompanied her with howls of their own. He could only assume it was her first mate that fired the cannon, splintering part of their deck, but sending several of the beasties right back into the deep. Large planks dropped from their ship, making bridges as members of her crew rushed over to help fight back the little demons. Even the pirate captain, herself came over, swinging over on a rope. She landed mere feet away, slashing one of the creatures making short work of it. Another received a swift kick and just as quickly found itself on the end of her musket.
Taking advantage of the distraction, his fellow crew mates, the very same that had saw to his injuries, helped him on to the Dog, their salvation.

[Felicity Ellis - Jungle, Kerelia]"We did," Felicity confirmed when Doug remembered that they'd decided on Welcome to the Jungle, her light tone not at all reflective of how she was feeling inside. "I'm glad someone was paying attention." She glanced sideways at Jett, the small smile intending to lessen the sting from her words. Then as the older El-Aurian got to work, she followed suit. A quiet descended as they worked; cobbling together the elements that they needed to implement this ridiculous plan. With PADD in hand, she ran a very simple diagnostic of their solitary field tower to ensure that with the extra modifications it would function as it was supposed to. Once Sir Doug seemed pleased enough with the Frankenstein creation to wander off and prepare the fire, Felicity reached out to LZ-1. =/\= "Ellis to Oerstadt. We're almost ready here. Standby to power down basecamp field towers." =/\= Taking one of the isolinear chips from the pouch that she'd pilfered from the storage containers, she slipped it into one of the tower receivers. When Jett approached and asked after her fitness level and speed she looked up, and almost snorted. "Fast enough for you, old man," she shot back. There was no Captain she knew of who would delegate this job to their crew, let alone a civilian. No, it was all part of holding the rank. "This is not a discussion, Tom. You and Sir Doug will have a three minute head-start. Go toward the caves, but not directly, of course. You don't want to run straight into a horde of these things."Felicity had no intention of dying in the jungle. At least, not without a nice drink in her hand. As soon as the tower was activated, she'd take off like a bat out of hell. But first, Jett and Doug needed to scarper. The flames from the fires began to lick higher, and the thick, grey smoke was already reaching her lungs. "Time to go."Approximately three minutes later...=/\= "Ellis to Oerstadt and Basecamp. Power down on my mark." The sun was slipping behind the canopies of the trees; night was upon them, finally. Felicity suppressed a shudder, squared her shoulders and tried to mentally prepare herself. "Mark." =/\= She activated everything, and ran. What followed her was the sound of something decidedly not Guns N' Roses. Instead the tower asked: Why Can't We Be Friends?
Tags: Thomas Jett , Judith Eastman (Doug) and Damian Oerstadt . Update for all in LZ-1. [ Damian - Basecamp - Kerelia] Damian waited, with baited breath as he began counting down in his head the three minutes. It was a delicate operation, and one he wasn't sure was all going to work. If it did, they wouldn't have to worry about the creatures attacking them any more; though if it didn't, perhaps they'd better start running. =/\= Oerstadt to Ellis, standing by. =/\= There were a lot of possibilities, many of them they were not prepared for, considering the state the creatures had left their equipment in. But, they were acting on action rather than standing around discussing it - and that was enough for Damian to get behind. It was almost on time as his commbadge rattled to life again, with the countdown. Damian took a breath, his thumb hovering over the power button as he readied himself for the power down. Mark. His thumb went down immediately, the power down beginning with a large audible hum before it faded and something else took precedent in the jungle. =/\= Power's down. =/\= He added, just in case the audible note was enough for them to get out of dodge. He stood for a moment, looking around before deciding it was best to take cover at the nearest panel. TAG: Thomas Jett, Judith Eastman (Doug) and Felicity Ellis

[Ark - Kerelia] It seemed somehow in Caroline’s struggle to secure PooDoo and get strapped in, the creature had wriggled herself upside down. Carefully, while attempting to avoid the worst of the felinoid’s clawed swipes, she righted the creature, and set her down once Malik gave them the all-clear. She hoped the little creature wasn’t too upset with her, perhaps scooping PooDoo up had been slightly over protective, though well intentioned. After unstrapping herself, she removed her light jacket and set it on the floor as well. PooDoo seemed to like hiding in her bag when she was scared, maybe she’d want to hide in the jacket. It was an attempt at amends. Once past the fluffy distraction, Caroline returned to the matter at hand. Ensign Sren’s condition and what she’d found. She stood up and walked over to where Malik was examining the seemingly unconscious Sren. ”Being aggressively protective of their young does make a lot of sense, especially if we were encroaching on what they perceive to be their mating or nesting grounds. We should inform the Captain right away.” Since Malik seemed to assert Sren was not dead or in immediate danger, Caroline tapped her commbadge to deliver the message herself. =/\= ”Lt. Riordan to Captain Ellis. We tracked the creatures to the caves. Ensign Sren sensed young, infantile creatures in the depths. We believe the caves and the surrounding area could possibly be utilized by the creatures for mating or nesting purposes. The aggressive creature behavior might just be survival instincts to protect their young. Riordan out.” =/\= Message sent, she could now focus on the young Betazoid woman. She grabbed a medical scanner from the shuttle's med kit, and confirmed her previous diagnosis. The woman’s paracortex had been stressed to its limit. Softly, she clucked her tongue and spoke quietly to Malik. ”Sren’s been pushing her empathic abilities too hard. To put it simply, it’s a little like if you try to hold your breath too long, you pass out before you can actually suffocate yourself. I’m not a proper medical doctor, but I think if we just let her rest, she should come out of it on her own. Maybe help her by reclining the chair some, and propping her feet up? She should definitely get checked out fully once we return.”Caroline frowned, clearly upset with herself for not being able to offer a better answer. [Kerelia, Ark] Malik was glad the counsellor thought his idea had merit, perhaps he wasn't so bad at all this science stuff after all. He listened at Cara's recommendations for Lurai, who was apparently out cold. He tapped a few commands and Lurai's chair reclined 30 degrees to a comfortable position. The Ark's seats weren't really designed for sleep, but it was better than nothing. "You know, I fell asleep once at a Risa college party. Woke up naked tied to transporter booth. Lurai's lucky we aren't back on Risa right now."Jett did his part in making the constructions and of course, let Sir Doug deal with the more technical aspects. He did know how to deal with technology, but how to hack a device and how to build it was different. The man did his part and once it was ready he listened to Doug’s comment to light up fires. The idea was to create a distraction so they can go to the cave. Lighting a fire might also make their area and attract attention or scare them away. The idea is to go to the cave investigation and solve the problem. Preferably peacefully. He did not have a strong opinion one way or another as this was mostly a guessing game and since he was their leading expert He would have to trust him on his opinion about the fires. As Flick mentioned that she was fast enough. Tom thought of interrupting her. He would insist that it would be him the one running. However, he would have guessed that it would be futile. He already tried to talk to her out of the plan and she disagreed. If it were his crew, he would insist. As she gave the instructions he said to Flick “Understood” . He then smiled and said “But I want to note for the record that I think I am faster than you” . He said as his competitive side came out. He would not admit without a fair race that he was slower than her. He looked at Felicity as the fire began and he covered his mouth to stop the smoke. “Good Luck, I’ll meet you in the caves. If you don’t show up, I’ll take it as a sign that you admitting that I am superior to you.” . Tom smiled as he made his statement in jest. She did not need the extra motivation but he figured that statement would make her upset. He was concerned that she would make it out there, but at the same time he needed to focus on keeping himself and Sir Doug alive. In his mind, it was important that they arrived to the caves. [...] [Felicity Ellis - Jungle, Kerelia]Felicity rolled her eyes and shook her head when he claimed he'd take her absence at the caves as a sign of her admitting defeat. In response, she deadpanned, "Take it as a sign that I'm dead. Send my dismembered corpse and a corsage to my widow." She reassured herself that both men would be fine, that if they steered clear of the creatures' paths they'd avoid any further encounters. They'd be well away before she pulled the trigger. She hoped. "Stay safe," she told both of them, three minutes before crunch time. She ran; loud, invasive music at her back. Riordan out.” =/\= At the sound of Riordan bursting through her comm, Felicity slowed. She reached out and pressed her palm against a nearby tree trunk, sucking in greedy breaths as her mind rushed to catch up to the counselor's words. She turned back around to face the direction she had come, eyes making out very little in the dark, but drawn automatically toward the tops of the fires Sir Doug had lit before he'd left. The music was still blaring, but she could hear other noises now, too. Noises from the jungle and the screams of the creatures once again, growing louder as they closed in on the clearing. Her eyes followed the billowing smoke and she fervently hoped that the El-Aurian was as experienced with fire as he claimed. This terrible plan could always be made even worse if they were leaving a burning rain-forest in their wake. At least now, with the report from their people in the air, they had some sort of explanation as to the aggressive behaviour of the locals. =/\= "Thank you, Lieutenant, Ark team. Well done." She spoke softly, still somewhat out of breath. They may just be able to make out the music in the background. "That tracks with everything we've seen so far. I need you to check out LZ-2 for me; the coordinates should already be in the database. See if you can find any sign of these creatures there and along the coast. Then get back to basecamp as soon as you can, I really don't think we need to be spending the night here. Ellis out." =/\= At the sound of rustling in the canopies above her, Felicity's hand tightened around Jett's pistol. With one more glance back toward the clearing she turned and took off toward the caves once more. Less than ten seconds later, the music died. ~~~[Caves, Kerelia] The many had left the safety of home. Those that remained were curious, young, not yet in possession of a developed survival instinct. They wondered where all of the others had gone and wondered what was outside of the only home they'd ever known. With no others there to stop them, they began to explore. Once they'd reached the mouths of the caves, their snouts turned upward, sniffing the freedom and the spicy newness of the outside world.

Eyelids fluttering open, Lurai looked up into the shuttle ceiling, noticing her seat was in a reclining position and recalling what had just happened. Turning her aching head, she blinked against the lights from the consoles. She wanted to sleep. Seeing Malik and Caroline, she felt angry with herself for having lost consciousness. It wasn't the first time it happened, and it was just as embarrassing every time. ”Hello again.” She closed her eyes and rubbed her forehead. ”The caves extend deep into the mountain...” Looking out the window, she realised they were at a new location. Despite her headache, she took a moment to try and locate the creatures, but felt no sign of them. "Wherever we are, I can't sense any of them here."

[NPC - Sir Dugris "Doug" Zaman - Jungle -> Caves]Doug was more than a little dismayed about not being sent back to LZ-1, but he did his best to hide that. He acknowledged the orders and went along with Jett, showing fine stamina for an ancient being, before Jett began talking at him, about junior prom and various other things. "I think you have the hots for the captain," he observed bluntly. "Can't blame you, but I will warn that it can't last. She's married to the job."Doug had had enough experience with women - enough divorces - to have a certain perspective on the fairer sex that he found useful. At last, at the caves, Jett showed Doug an unfamiliar man's picture. The particulars of the man's look had a distinct vibe to them. "Mr. Jett, I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but does everyone in your circles dress like a stripper?" he asked. Kerelia Jungle ---> Care Tom listened to Doug as he stated outright that he had the hots for the Captain. Felicity Ellis. As soon as he heard the comment, he smiled and began laughing. “Me? Having the hots for Felicity?” . The man laughed. He placed his hand on his hip and asked for his well being. “Are you sure you are ok? I hope all this excitement is not messing with your head that much? But if you are smoking something…that must be some good stuff. “ . Tom was not furious or mad at the Knight. He instead used humor as not to indicate that it was a serious matter for him. “No offense but it ain’t going to happen. I agree that she is married to her work. Not to mention that her Mother, Admiral Ellis if she heard I have even talked to get. She might strand me on a planet. Tie me to something. Fire on Quantum Torpedo to kill me. Then Fire a Second one just to make sure. Then maybe radiate the planet, just in case I am immune to it or I find a way to survive two direct Torpedo hits. Then turn the sun of the solar system into a black hole to swallow all the planets. Just if there was a .00001 percent chance that I am immune to everything. Oh and if that’s not everything her Mother sentenced my to prison, I am not exactly Model Citizen of the year award and we met my pointing weapons to each other.” . Tom mentioned the reason why it won’t happen. “Pointing my pistol to someone, is not exactly a romantic start.”. Tom said. He hoped to explain to Sir Doug that the situation was more complicated than a typical love story. That is even if he had feelings towards each other. “Not another word of this Sir Doug . Tom mentioned as the conversation was over as he did not want Felicity to arrive as they were talking to her about it. The last thing they needed is her showing up as they were talking to her. In which case he wondered who would she kill first, Sir Doug or him. His money was on his. *** [In front of Cave] As he handed the picture and he listened to Doug’s comment about dressing up as Strippers. Jett reacted by rolling his eyes. He hardly hears the same comment again and again. “They are not strippers outfits, they are leather and they look good” . He protested. “Also my fasion sense is superior to him. . Tom stopped as they were talking about his clothing choices rather than the man in the picture. “All right, can we put aside the Tyra Bank, America Next Top Model, show and critique of outfits and focus on the question. With no one monitoring the distraction site there is no way of knowing how long until they are destroyed and return back. [NPC - Sir Dugris "Doug" Zaman - en route]Doug rolled his eyes at a speech that wouldn't have sounded at all out of place in a romantic comedy. Yes, Thomas Jett was attracted to Felicity Ellis, though he didn't want to admit it and she would be folly to go for it. At most, Doug supposed it could end up with a drunken one-night stand, of which she (and possibly he as well) would afterwards be deeply ashamed. Can't go wrong with a tailored suit and a nice tie. [Caves]Doug engaged in this line of thought, at least initially. "They're very coordinated. It's possible they have a hive mentality, or at least a powerful pack mentality," he mused. "That being said, we really shouldn't try to take out the queen if we don't have to. These animals were here first, and we can try to meet them halfway."He looked around. "Hey, where's your crush? [Medtent -> Exterior, LZ1]
Alex wasn't phased as she swore again. It was language he'd heard before, and he likely would again. Besides, part of him found it slightly funny how uncomfortable all of this was to her. What also didn't surprise him was when she stood up quickly after he set down his tools, cleaning up and trusting her to not do anything too stupid in the minute it would take him to put away his supplies, dropping the bloodied tools in a bag to be cleaned later, or cast away as bait if need be. Who knows, maybe the beasts had a taste for fresh blood, and better that already on the outside than that on the in.
The order from Costa was pretty clear - call in the Dog, have it land where it was a short shot from the entrance ramps to the med tent, and dust off with whoever wanted to come without anyone having to venture into the woods. But there was a second tone underneath, with its own set of orders. The Dog was a smuggling ship. Not everything they did was on the Federation's up-and-up list, their rules of who can do what where. Rules that were conveniently - and consistently - ignored. It was full of hidden nooks and crannies where anything could be hiding, but more importantly, it was about to serve as a transport for several rule-following Fleet folk. He had to inform the crew to lock everything down and make the ship pass inspection, or they'd be detained as soon as they docked.
As he slung his bag to his back and moved to follow Costa out of the tent he pressed down on the communicator, which despite the warnings he'd not disabled or handed over. Very intentionally, he spoke mostly in English, which would be the first indication to the ship. =\\= "Oye, Baggy. Bring da Dog to the Sodzha landing site. We gonya be takin' on some... guests... back to they ship. Bring it in smooth, ke? Lots o' people to show off for, quick turnaround," =\\= he said, hoping his meaning would be clear.
A few minutes later, the rumble of engines could be heard as the freighter swooped into view, landing gear extended as the ramp began to swing down as the ship maneuvered for the clearing, preparing for as quick of a turnaround as could be expected. The rate-limiter was getting everyone onboard. "Gútegow?" he asked Costa, watching as the rumbling ship touched down.
The Dog wasn't meant for speed or agility - she was built to haul cargo and her impressive size and bulk gave that away. Plenty of room to take people, but wouldn't be winning any beauty contests. Today, however, it was a sight for sore eyes.

Lurai's lucky we aren't back on Risa right now."[Felicity Ellis - Jungle, Kerelia]=/\= "Thank you, Lieutenant, Ark team. Ellis out." =/\= Malik brought up the location of the second landing site, it was only a kilometre or so away. He brought them out of the hover and pointed the craft towards their next waypoint, in a few seconds they were there, hovering over the second landing site. The coastline was visible on the horizon. He turned to Cara, "Scanners picking up anything?"[Ark - Kerelia] Cara was still trying to stifle a giggle as she followed Malik back to the front of the shuttle. ”Naked and a transporter booth? That had to be quite a rude awakening. Remind me to tell you the story of 3 drunken med students and the adventures of the study cadaver they liberated. The memories, blurred and spotty as they are, were well worth the subsequent punishment. On an unrelated note, did you hear music over the comm when the Captain was speaking?”She sat down in the co-pilot’s seat, and tried to resume an attitude of professional competence. Luckily, the scanning was more or less automated, and the read-out was basically dummy proof. It was easy to answer him with confidence. ”None of those critters from LZ-1 and the caves. Just your usual assortment of things that like the water. Ugh. Lotta bird type things that’ll ruin your picnic.”Cara’s delicate nose wrinkled. She hated birds for a while now. All her interactions with the winged menaces hadn’t done a thing to change her opinion. [Ens. Lurai Sren - Kerelia - Ark]
"Wherever we are, I can't sense any of them here." ”I guess that settles it. How’re you feeling, Ens. Sren? The med kit’s got some analgesic hypos if you’re in need.”Cara looked back over her shoulder at the Betazoid woman. Sren seemed to have recovered fairly quickly again, which again implied to her, that this happened with some sort of regularity. It still wasn’t a good time to bring it up with her. She drummed her fingers on the console distractedly, and looked down, when the movement of a swishing tail caught her eye. [NPC - PooDoo - Ark]PooDoo got back on her feet with a little angry growl, upset at what had happened. She then began to walk around the floor of the craft, and then returned to the jacket and sat up on top of it. She had an angry look in her eyes, the kind that indicated she'd attack anyone that bothered her or shook her again. ”Guess you’re still mad at me, huh, little Razortoes? We’ll probably be taking you back to your Daddy Doug here in a little bit, and you’ll be free of me.”Cara was pretty sure the felinoid didn’t understand what she was saying, but she was a pretty intelligent animal. She looked up and over at Malik. ”Malik, before we head back, want to have the honors of letting Captain Ellis know what we found? Or better yet, didn’t find? It seems like LZ-2 might be the better place for an on planet foothold, in hindsight.”She grinned at the pilot. Her report to the Captain was already forming in her mind. Despite the unforeseen difficulties they faced on Kerelia, the crew members she’d personally observed performed their duties competently and came together to meet challenges. Of course, that might be putting the cart ahead of the horse. They weren’t all safe back on the Mac yet.

[Medtent -> Exterior, LZ1] Alex wasn't phased as she swore again. [Costa - LZ-1, Kerelia]Costa had leaned back against the wall of the pre-fabricated medtent while Hust reached our to their irascible engineer. The warning in his communication was subtle, but would leave their people in no doubt as to what was meant. As the Dog descended, she pushed herself from the wall and grinned properly for the first time in a while. She'd take that sight over any dirt-side vista, any day. "Gútegow," she responded. She wrapped her knuckles on the wall beside the medtent entrance, looking to get the Commander's attention. "Cavalry here, Doc." Then to Hust, she added with a gesture toward the engineers at the nearby field towers, "Gonya showxa imalowda da plan." She wandered off toward the Chief, who she figured was probably in charge at that moment, and stopped just before them. She didn't bother pointing out that their ship had arrived, that much would surely be obvious. "Sickbay on Dog gonna take ya injured, Chief. Quinn suggested we use our warp field ta create a dampening effect over the camp, so we tink maybe try tha'?"

It's possible they have a hive mentality, or at least a powerful pack mentality," he mused. "That being said, we really shouldn't try to take out the queen if we don't have to. These animals were here first, and we can try to meet them halfway."He looked around. "Hey, where's your crush? I mean, the Captain, to whom you're totally not attracted?" he asked. [Felicity Ellis - Caves, Kerelia]"What Captain?" Felicity asked with some curiosity as she stepped out of the dense jungle, and ducked down with the two of them behind an outcropping in front of the caves. Curious as she was about what she'd interrupted, she was a little more concerned about the smaller versions of the vicious creatures that were at that moment probably finishing up tearing their tech apart. "We shouldn't stick around here," she murmured, eyes flashing in the dark as she took in what should have been the special, welcomed sight of young venturing out into their new world. "It won't take the adults long to return, and we don't want to be between them and their babies." Understatement. As per previous form, they'd probably shred through them in seconds. "The team on the Ark are checking out the viability of LZ-2 as we speak. Let's head back to camp and get wheels up."Pistol raised, Felicity began to move off again.

[ Thea - Triage Tent, LZ1, Kerelia] With Quinn as stable as she could possibly make him, Thea then cleaned up, before returning to the Ensign's side to monitor his vitals, the old fashioned way, now that they had turned off all technology. He looked so peaceful, yet Thea couldn't help but wonder what was going on inside and yet couldn't stop thinking that he wasn't completely out of this. Thankful for the Diamond Dog and the offer that was made to help them and give Quinn, that chance to fully recover. Of course that in itself, caused Thea to turn her thoughts to Sinclair and if she had managed to get those samples yet. Not that she could wait any longer and hoped that she wouldn't be too far behind them. Then came the tap on the tent wall, alerting her attention to Captain Costa as the Freighter Captain, informed her that the Dog had arrived. Realising that she had been too caught up in everything to notice or hear it, but not that it mattered right now. " Understood and thank you" she replied as she and one of the orderlies, got Quinn into a stretcher carefully. "We'll get you feeling better soon Quinn, I promise" she said quietly as they made their way out of the tent and Thea quickly spotted Hust. " I've got him as stable as I can".Since the Dog wasn't a fleet ship, she wasn't about to just go ahead as she was more respectful than that, so would wait for Hust to lead the way.

Tags: Malik Grippen Lurai Sren Judith Eastman for PooDoo Rylonis Trellgin [Kerelia, Ark, hovering over LZ-2] Malik raised an eyebrow as Cara mentioned her story about playing with a cadaver. Everyone had heard the stories about what the med students got up to late at night in their labs; more than one had confessed to Malik that body parts were often used as props in their pranks. Med students were like their own sub-race of student, just like trainee pilots were he guessed. "I'll have to hear that one some time. I did hear some sort of music, I hope they aren't having a party down there without us."He was glad to hear that LZ-2 was free of those nasty critters and it was closer to the ocean, which was always a plus in his book. Shame he'd left his surfboard back on the Mac. "You got it, it looks ideal surfing conditions down there right now and free of flesh eating creatures too." Malik commented as he peered out the window at the shoreline. Not quite a Risa, but not too shabby either. =/\= "Ark to captain Ellis. Our survey of LZ-2 and the nearby coastline is complete. We are critter-free, I repeat, we are critter-free. Surf looks good too. Looks like a perfect landing site to establish an outpost." =/\= Maybe he shouldn't have mentioned the surf, but the captain looked like the cool type of captain and not the hard-ass kind. Tags: Alex Hust , Thea Baker , Ozu Saya and Isaiah Quinn (soft). Let's move out! [ MCPO Ozu Saya - LZ 1 - Kerelia] Saya had been staring apprehensively into the jungle, watching and listening for the return of any of the creatures. She was startled when the freighter captain spoke to her. Oh, Captain. Excellent. It will be good to get the injured away from here. She eyed the other woman. You appear to be recovering. Here's your combadge. It's shut down, for now. She pulled the small device from her pocket and handed it over. I'm not certain we need to do anything further, but I suppose the protection wouldn't go amiss. If your ship is able to produce the field while we clear out, we would at least feel safer.
Does your ship have the space to carry some of these prefab panels? I'm working on the assumption that we'll be completely dismantling this site, and it would expedite matters considerably if we could start out loading your ship before the Ark returns. I would appreciate any assistance your people could give. It was a blow to have to undo the work they'd done so far in the clearing, but that was the benefit of the prefab buildings - they went up and down quickly.

He trusted that Felicity is though and she would be able to pull most situation, but sometimes he had been in combat when unexpected people die and people thatyou would expect to die survive. War made everything seem so arbitrary. Jett focused was to continue the mission and do what she wanted to establish the LZ and settlement. As he mentioned about the Captain. Jett looked at Doug and gave him a dirty look. He was focused on the mission at the moment, and she would understand his thought process. The mission is more important than either one of them. It was not long until he heard. [Felicity Ellis - Caves, Kerelia]"What Captain?" He looked at Doug and hope the man would stopped before he would be tempted to shoot at him. “Yes, Ma’am”[/color. Tom responded quickly as he was following the Captain to the exit. It was about time that they would leave the planet.
