He reached under his console, where he always had a few stashed just in case, and pulled out a large PADD and his fingers rapidly danced on its interface to generate an ersatz tactical station. It wouldn't be enough to operate his systems to the best of his abilities, but at least he could get readings and reports, along with some basic functionality without too much of a headache. "Commander, shields down 86% and... mostly holding. All phaser banks inoperative, waiting on diagnostics. We have all torpedoes available except... the aft bay on Deck 13, the faulty relay blew and took out the feeding system. Reports of casualties shipwide, no count yet. And... oh Hell, the Brig has lost all power. Security forcefields on decks 7 through 10 are down."Picking away at his completely inadequate ersatz console, Niles looked up to the XO. "Ma'am, no reports about the prisoners yet, but recommend we use damage control lockouts to seal off decks 8 through 10."Judy carefully considered the situation they were in. They were in a sticky situation with a non-functional bridge, blind, so to speak. This could not stand. "Mabel, is the emergency turbolift working?" she asked her assistant. A feature of modern ships, the emergency turbolift was equipped to head swiftly between the main bridge and the battle bridge. With a reinforced, sealed-off shaft, emergency generator, and other fixtures, it was meant to function even when many other systems did not. Mabel glanced across the Bridge, to a nondescript door with a little green indicator. "Yes, ma'am," Mabel reported. "All right," Judy acknowledged, and then raised her voice. "We're going to the battle bridge. Chief, Mr. Quinn, you can hitch a ride with us."Judy prepared to stand up, and then eyed Mabel. "A little help?"Putting a hand over Mabel's shoulders, Judy staggered, her left foot in the air, towards the emergency turbolift. "Ensign Niles, lock those decks off as soon as we get down down, and lock down the blast doors on the main shuttlebay," she ordered as she approached the lift. "I don't want them sneaking out of here with a shuttle."As soon as all who intended to take it were onboard, the emergency turbolift rocketed down to the battle bridge on deck 18. [Lt. (j.g.) Isaiah Quinn - Bridge -> Emergency Turbolift, USS Mac] As soon as Commander Eastman asked about mable about the emergency turbolift, the proverbial bulb lit up in Isaiah's head. He hadn't even given any consideration to the Battle Bridge, but that was probably because Deck 11 was closer. However, given everything that Ensign Niles had shared, it seemed the Battle Bridge was the most viable option. Especially considering the situation that was now occurring on Deck 9. The prisoners were undoubtedly loose at this point. Though, surely, Security was already working to remedy the situation. Either way, it seemed that Commander Eastman had taken everything into consideration as she ordered Niles to seal up the ship pretty tight, while asking the others to join her on the emergency lift down to the Battle Bridge. "Yes, ma'am," he replied as he stood. He moved slowly, behind the Commander. It seemed that Mabel had everything in hand, but part of him wanted to be there just in case. As he stepped onto the lift, he thought it best he exhaled and shook his head. "Must be Tuesday, he remarked as the doors began to shut.
Tag: Judith Eastman , Joshua Niles , Ozu Saya , Elijah Azaria , Alex Graham ********** There was a reason Benor, Malko, and Cheron had eluded justice on Arkaria for as long as they had. When the ship rocked and the brig went dark, not a one of them hesitated for even a second. Benor didn't need to see to know that her little brother Malko had dropped to a crouch and would be looking for the guard and that phaser at her hip. Cheron didn't need to tell either of them that she will have slipped out of her cell to slink for a panel or computer. And Benor herself, she stood patiently in the archway and waited. Malko was upon S'Riia quickly. Maybe Malko was due for a bit of luck, because in the dark, a Caitian was better suited than an Arkarian. Because lucky he was: S'Riia's head was down and Malko's timing was right. He lunged. His elbow found her temple, and his hands found her phaser. He shoved her hard against the wall and held her there. He sneered. "Not a muscle, Caitian.""Get the comm badge," Benor's voice followed Malko in the dark. Malko obeyed, snatching it from S'Riia's uniform and passed it to Cheron who slid by with a whistle. "I've always wanted one of these," Cheron said. She knocked it against the bulkhead, popping it open like an egg. [NPC - PO1 S'Riia - Brig, Deck 9, USS Mac] The darkness was hardly an issue for S'Riia. She could see just fine. It was what she couldn't see that frustrated her. Her ear twitched as she heard a sound. Her eyes were on one of the women, Cheron who had moved from her cell. Perhaps she had made that much headway when S'Riia had been on the ground. Either way, turning her eyes away from the cells had been her biggest mistake. "Free-- was all she managed to get out before she felt a heavy elbow smash into the side of her temple. The blow itself would have been disorienting, but with the ringing that had lingered in her head from the ship's rough tumble hadn't healed as quickly as she would have liked. If only her Gideon heritage would have been a bit more insistent. S'Riia quickly found herself smashed against the wall again, the phaser ripped from her hand. She growled back at her assailant, Malko as he told her not to move a muscle. "The smartest thing you three can do, is crawl back into those cells and wait for the power to come back on," S'Riia warned them. She hissed once more at Malko, almost daring him to let her go. Though, tactically, she knew she didn't have a move... at least not yet. She had no idea how far away back up was. Bishop and Dolan were due, but if power had gone out throughout the ship, there was no telling where they were. And then there was Kaya. Somehow, she was simply hoping that her friend was safe and far away from the brig.

[Bridge] Elijah moved about the bridge, giving all he could see a quick once over to ensure nobody looked to be in great distress. When Commander Eastmen voiced the plans moving forward, what with the ship on Red Alert any many of the consoles down, Elijah decided it would be best for him to return to Sickbay. He was certain he would be more useful there. He briefly said as much, and watched the Officers follow Commander Eastman to the emergency turbolift before locating the access panel to the Jefferies Tubes. He grimaced at the never ending ladder, wondering if this route was even remotely safe in the given situation, or if he was essentially signing his own death certificate by attempting it. He took to the ladder, feeling uncomfortably closed in, and began to descend.

[hallway deck 2 - NPC Cooper] Thea was quicker than he thought because he knew the turbo lifts weren't working. Perhaps she just had more experience with Red Alerts, which really made him jumpy. The red lights were an indicator that something was seriously wrong. There was nothing he could do to change that. If another force was attacking the ship, he couldn't do a damn thing about it and if they had run into an asteroid field...oh well. With sweaty palms he opened the next best hatch that they found and stuck his head in to gaze down and the long 'tunnel' with nothing but a ladder and a row of emergency lights leading the way down. "If the ship gets shaken again and we loose our grip, we'll fall...all the way down." Whereever that may be...the bottom was pitch black. He looked at her with a lot of insecurity in his eyes but then pulled himself together. He didn't want to be perceived as a coward, even if he felt like one. So he carefully crawled inside and started the descent. [Access Hatch - Deck 2] Once Brody opened the access panel, Thea knew that there wasn't any going back and as much as she enjoyed exercise, she had never thought that she would be climbing through the Jefferies Tubes, during a red alert. Still it had to be done, because they couldn't just rely on the turbolifts as they would normally. So as the Petty Officer looked down and queried what would happen if the ship shook again and they lost their grip ... she had a feeling that this was probably his first alert situation and trip into the lifeblood of the Mac. As much as she had dealt with emergency situations before, this would be her first time too. However knew that she had to keep up her reassurance as she was the senior officer and so she came up with an idea as she responded to him. " Not if we hold on tight and not think about it" she replied as he entered first. Then she took a deep breath and followed him, reminding herself that even though it was five decks to Sickbay, that she just had to focus and think of it as a trip to the gym. Her feet felt heavy on the ladder but that's when she put her idea in play. " So tell me what's your favourite food?".
tag Fells Halgerdur[Somewhere between deck 2 and 8 - Brody] The climb down was nerve wrecking at first but Thea managed to distract him with her strange question about food. "What? Sorry? My favourite food....er I don't know. I like a mix of fruit, veggies and meat. What about you? Favourite free time activity?" Why not get to know each other better on a dark long emergency ladder. His arms started to burn about 5 minutes into the exercise. The numbers near the exit hatches gave away that they had reached deck 7. "One more. Do you need a break?" He occassionally took a moment to hang on one arm and shake out the other. Beidy looked up but couldn't see much more than her feet. Then he continued until he reached the hatch of deck 8. He had to manually open it and crawl out, where he rested on the floor. His arms had been starting to get very weak.

[Lt. (j.g.) Isaiah Quinn - Bridge, USS Mac] Everything seemed to be underway as Ensign Niles stated that he could make the required adjustments to the shield generators. Isaiah had turned his attention to his own station, and was set to begin his calculations when the world around him began to toss and turn. Anything that wasn't nailed down had found itself turned. He was lucky that he had managed to strap himself otherwise he may have found himself tossed over his console and next to Crewman Graham. Still, he reached up and rubbed the back of his neck, after having been whipped about. His eyes turned to his console and he noticed that it was out. "Dammit!" he cursed silently. He spun in his seat to see that the Science II station behind him was also out. In fact, most of the consoles around the bridge that he could see seemed inoperable. He could hear the engineer over the comm state that Bridge power was out. A heavy sigh left his lips. When Doctor Azaraia called out to ask if anyone was okay, Isaiah's hand slid down from his neck. He wasn't bleeding and while it may be a little sore, it wasn't debilitating. His eyes scanned the room as he red klaxon flashed about, confirming the red alert that Commander Eastman had called for. There was little he could do at his station until power was restored, which left him with only one other alternative. In fact, it was the very alternative that Chief Ozu had voiced on her own behalf. "I think the chief has the right idea. With power out on the Bridge, more can be done on Deck 11 where the calculations can be finalized and whatever adjustments needed done directly in Deflector Control."[/b][ Ens Joshua Niles - Bridge, USS Mac ][/b] No sooner had Commander Eastman acknowledge the input coming to her and ordered the drop out of warp, the Mac shook violently again. This time, Joshua was flung towards his console and the wind was driven from him as his midsection connected, leaving him gasping for air as the Red Alert lights and klaxons sounded, and the Bridge turned into a red-lit cavern with flickering consoles, and reports flying in every direction. And even as he was trying to get his breathing under control, he tried to work his own station, only to find it inoperable. On an older ship, one that did not have a fully integrated LCARS interface system, that might pose a real problem. But, he remembered being told, in training, that not just in theory but in practice, one could operate a starship with any LCARS-capable device. A tricorder, or even... He reached under his console, where he always had a few stashed just in case, and pulled out a large PADD and his fingers rapidly danced on its interface to generate an ersatz tactical station. Joshua's reply came by crisply as he stepped away from his inoperative console, leaving his PADD behind, to join the other officers and the Master Chief in the emergency turbolift. Perhaps it was a full-size turbolift cab, but it felt cramped with four people inside, and knowing that it was the emergency access to the Battle Bridge somehow led to the young Ensign's stomach clenching as the doors shut behind him. This was as real as it got, with the main bridge being disabled, the ship heavily damaged, and possibly dangerous criminals wandering the ship at will. And while the trip down was fairly quick, it seemed to last forever as Niles found himself deep in his thoughts, running scenario after scenario of things going catastrophically wrong... And it was only when the doors hissed open in the smaller, more compact secondary command center that he forced himself back into the present and fairly dashed to the Tactical station. Without wasting any time, or even getting Commander Eastman time to settle in, he set in to work to carry out her orders. Before long, he did have the emergency damage control protocols in place, locking down all turbolift access points, blast door and every Jefferies tube on Decks 8 through 10. And, as a second thought, and without being instructed to, he also locked down the amouries and every weapon lockers on those three decks; if anyone needed access to weapons, they'd have to use the lockers on other decks, or get to the shuttlebay. And speaking of which, that one he had been ordered to close down as well, and while the outermost doors were ponderously closing, he also made sure to lock down access to the Captain's Yacht. He would certainly try to contain those prisoners, but he also knew he could not hamper damage control efforts too much either. This would make for a very interesting conundrum as personnel would need to move for legitimate duties. But that was not an immediate issue. First and foremost, threats to the ship needed to be resolved. "Commander, Deck 8 through 10 are locked down. Armouries have been secured, shuttlebay is still closing, and the Captain's Yacht is secured. Internal sensors aren't cooperating too well with the damage we've taken, I'll need some time to located the prisoners." Judith Eastman

"The Chief had a good point. We need to lock down all essential areas. Engineering, deflector controls, sickbay, antimatter storage," she said. "Ensign Niles, put a message out to those areas."Mabel settled into the vacant Ops console, an area in which she did have some training. "On a broader scale, we need to act under the assumption that the Arkarians are loose," Judy announced. "Our goal, in addition to getting the ship out intact, is to capture them, preferably alive. Thoughts?"Judy Eastman-Williams would rather have three dead terrorists than a whole dead crew, thank you very much, but she still preferred to have both alive. "And Lieutenant Quinn, if you'll need to go to deflector controls, I'll assign an armed guard to you," she then added to the Science officer. The ship rocked again, but this time the rocking was less severe. Having not yet strapped in, Judy was still fine, but Mabel's commbadge slipped off from where it had been loosely pinned.

[...]The blow itself would have been disorienting, but with the ringing that had lingered in her head from the ship's rough tumble hadn't healed as quickly as she would have liked. [ The Arkarians | Brig to Deck 8 ]Benor took S'Riia by the back of the neck as if she was scruffing a cat and yanked her roughly towards the front. Malko made sure S'Riia could easily see the phaser he still had trained on her chest. "I think of all of us here, we're the smart ones," Malko smartly contributed. Benor sniffed. "Get something to tie her.""Will these do?" Cheron asked dangling a pair of handcuffs from her finger. She was already behind the main desk rummaging around. Benor was built like a pit-fighter, every bit as strong as she looked. She handled S'Riia with demonstrable roughness, shoving her into the bench anchored to the wall. She handcuffed S'Riia's hands in front of her to the bench support, anchoring the Caition security officer in place. Malko was dancing from foot to foot again, cackling at the adreneline and turnabout. Benor was still seethingly, deadly calm. She leaned forward to speak into S'Riia's ear: "This has nothing to do with you."After one last look, Benor and Malko rejoined Cheron in raiding whatever they could find that hadn't locked up when the power cut. Cheron began rattling off intelligence. "Brig, deck nine, you are here, and if you look to your left you'll see the armory and a shite-load of lovely rifles --"Benor interrupted. "No, they'll have locked it down.""We're at full stop," Malko said and began prying open the brig door. "Shuttlebay, Cheron. Where's the shuttlebay?"Charon laughed loudly in Malko's ear. "Dumbass, what do you think disabled the ship? We'd be torn apart. That's your second greaet idea."Benor thought for a moment. "Computer core."The brig door released with a loud crack. Cheron smiled. "Deck eight. One deck down, watch your step."[ Exit Arkarians to Deck 9 and onward to Deck 8 ]

[ Kaya Som | Jctn 14, Deck 9, down the way from the Brig ]The ship shook again just as Kaya we getting her bearings. It was almost completely dark other than the dim light of the emergency runners slipping in through the hatch she'd left ajar behind her. She tapped her comm badge. Nothing. She tried again. Nothing. She felt adrift. There was nothing quiet about a starship, not ever. Even idle in drydock, ships hummed with life and the entire crew was never more than a comm badge away. S'Riia! Kaya knew what a catastrophic power failure could mean and she hurried to exit the hatch to get back to the brig, but as soon as she poked her head out, she heard the brig doors crack open. She had only a second to pull herself back inside before the three Arkarian prisoners sped by. They were in a hurry and S'Riia was not with them. As soon as she was sure they were out of sight, Kaya slipped out of the access junction and ran down to the Brig. The doors were dead and hung open. Inside, the same eerie darkness. "S'Riia!" she hissed, fearing the worst.

[Jefferies Tube - Between Decks] With a determination worthy of any marathon participation, Thea resorted to her usual stamina and breathing regime as she continued her descent. Focusing on not only the ladder but also the conversation that she had initiated with the Brody, in the hope that it would also help her to not think about the drop to the bottom. However when her comm badge went off with the call for Medical from none other than Darby Nelson, it took all of her resolve to hold onto the rung in front of her. It wasn't the fact that he had been badly hurt that had almost caused her to lose her grip but the timing of the call, as it echoed around them. Being the tube was very eerie almost like nothing else existed so it had caused a bit of a shock. Once she had recovered, her brain kicked into gear, wondering if it was worth asking why he was in the Computer Core and not Sickbay. But Thea quickly decided that she could wait to ask, when she saw him as her journey became more urgent and how they now had to go down another deck. Tapping her badge to respond as she held on tight, Thea then answered her fellow Medic. =/\= Baker to Nelson, acknowledged I'll be there as soon as I can =/\= Ending the call, Thea then resumed climbing down, knowing that Brody would of also heard the hail from Nelson, before the Petty Officer then responded to her earlier question. Realising that she had caught him a little off guard, the CMO felt a pang of guilt until he asked her a question and knew what her answer would be. " Either running or spending time in the holodeck".Then as silence descended between them again, Thea had to fight through the fatigue that was beginning to develop the longer they spent on the ladder. Reverting back to her training once more as they passed each deck until finally they reached Deck 8. [Deck 8 - Corridor -----> Computer Core] Thea had never been so grateful to see the ground as she followed Brody out into the corridor and as much as she would of liked to rest, knew that she couldn't. Taking a moment or two, Thea was ready to move as she looked at her companion. " We can rest properly later but I need to get to the Computer Core".Adrenaline kicking in, Thea then led the way towards the Computer Core, the deck deserted apart from them and the continued sound of the red alert. Another shake almost sent her into the bulkhead but managed to stop herself as she moved on, hoping that Brody was still behind her. After what felt like an age, she reached the computer core and sought out the manual release. Cursing whoever designed them and ignoring the soreness in her fingers, managed to open it. " Nelson I'm here, let me find an emergency kit" she called out, locating it after a few minutes. Then it didn't take her long to find said Doctor and noticed how he had become trapped. " Okay Darby, let's see what the damage is" she added as she began to scan his leg.

As Saya unbuckled herself, she raised a surprised but impressed eyebrow at the young tactical officer's resourcefulness. She trailed the others into the emergency 'lift and moved to one side near the wall so she could observe the others. Saya was grateful that Judy hadn't been more badly injured, but she was concerned about further hits to the ship, and now they had the further concern of loose convicts. Saya tapped her combadge. =/\= Ozu to engineering. Initiate emergency protocol 17-Omega. No one enters without my express authorization. I'll be there shortly myself. Stay safe. =/\= Signing off, she addressed Judy formally, Commander, if the Arkarians have gotten loose, we'll need to move swiftly to keep them out of sensitive areas of the ship. Perhaps we can contain them on Deck 9; but if not, we need to make preparations.[...] He would certainly try to contain those prisoners, but he also knew he could not hamper damage control efforts too much either. Internal sensors aren't cooperating too well with the damage we've taken, I'll need some time to located the prisoners."As soon as Judy settled into the Captain's chair (pre-emptively equipped with her cushions, because she did like to be prepared), sitting with her legs crossed left over right to keep weight off the injured one, the aging officer began to issue orders. [Lt. (j.g.) Isaiah Quinn - Battle Bridge, Deck 18, USS Mac] As Quinn stepped out of the elevator, he moved over towards the science station. He attempted to pick up where he had left off on the bridge with those calculations. He hadn't gotten very far when he heard Commander Eastman direct her comments towards him specifically. He pondered the consideration for a moment before making his own contribution. "I can attempt to make the modifications from this station, ma'am," Isaiah began, "but if we encounter further disruptions like the one we just had, it'd be preferable to be on site to amend the situation. It was almost on cue that the ship rocked, albeit significantly less than it had before. "In regards to our prisoner situation, it seems that visual assessment is the best we can do until internal sensors are back online," he shared. "We have access to the transporter on this deck, and unless I'm mistaken there aren't any damages to those systems." He looked briefly in Chief Ozu's direction to confirm. "I know that ideally we would use internal sensors for site to site transports, but it can be done manually. Especially, if we beam into spacious areas like the holodecks or cargo bays to avoid incidental contact on re-materialization. Small security teams could access the decks Mr. Niles closed off and conduct sweeps for the prisoners and injured." Isaiah took a deep breath. "I am willing to vet the process by transporting site-to-site from here to the Storage Baye on Deck 11." Isaiah said.

One deck down, watch your step."[ Exit Arkarians to Deck 9 and onward to Deck 8 ]The ship shook again just as Kaya we getting her bearings. S'Riia! As soon as she was sure they were out of sight, Kaya slipped out of the access junction and ran down to the Brig. The doors were dead and hung open. Inside, the same eerie darkness. "S'Riia!" she hissed, fearing the worst. [NPC - PO1 S'Riia - Brig, Deck 9, USS Mac] S'Riia didn't appreciate being manhandled by Malko. In fact, she would appreciate nothing more than a nice long sonic shower once this was over. Of course, the nozzle of the phaser pressed against her chest suddenly had her thinking 'if' needed to be inserted in that sentiment somewhere. He forced her down onto the bench and soon found her hands cuffed to the support. It was out of instinct alone that she tugged against the restraint, but knew that her liberation was futile. A groan of frustration left her lips as she turned to glare in the direction of the trio. She listened as they plotted their next move. They ruled out the armory, assuming that it had been locked off. They were likely correct. Either that, or a full team would be there waiting for them. The next thought led them to the shuttlebay, but they dismissed that unless they cared to suffer a similar fate in a smaller craft. Had she not been so annoyed by the restraints, a smirk would have appeared on her face, as the trio likely began to realize just how limited their options were. Though, they finally agreed on somewhere to be, other than the brig: the computer core. As they agreed on their destination, S'Riia's brow furrowed. She tugged at the restraints once more, but met no further success. Once they had made it past the doors, they were gone. "Dammit!" she cursed as she tugged at her restraints once more. Her eyes were already scanning the vicinity for something that could possibly help her get free. And then, she heard it... her name. Her eyes widened as she recognized the voice. That beautiful spotted dummy! "Kaya? Kaya, is that you?" she called out in hushed manner. She both loved and hated her friend for not doing what she should have done and found somewhere safe to hole up until this was over. She definitely owed Kaya a lunch and all the tea. She was just glad that her friend was okay. Her eyes scanned the doorway for a sign of friend. Perhaps Kaya could get her free, or at least notify someone else that the prisoners had escaped and where they were heading.

[computer core- NPC Cooper] He had barely rested for a few seconds when Thea told him that they had to move fast to help someone, so he rolled over to get to his feet. He was exhausted but that was mostly his arms which he shook a few times while he trotted after the doctor. When the reached the Computer Core his steps became a bit slower to take it the massive construction. It was like the inner sanctum, the heart of the ship. As if not to disturb it, he carefully walked further until he could hear the pained, labored breaths of the injured man, who had been trapped because of the ships rapid movements. While she ran away to retrieve an emergency kit, Brody kneeled down next to the man and put a reassuring hand on his shoulder. "We're here to help you."He looked him over and saw the damage to his leg. Brody didn't need any medical education to see that it was probably broken and very painful. "I need to find something to use as lever to lift up the mezzanine."He waited for Thea to return and looked around in the meantime. The only adequat tool he could find was a across the room. One of the metal shelves had become detached and had fallen to the ground. It could possibly be used to push up the part, that nailed down the injured man's leg. As soon as Thea returned and worked her magic, Brody jogged away to grab it. It took a bit of force to pull it over to the two. "Thea, if you help me and lift the end here, I can slide the shelf under it and use it to free his leg. You have to pull him out then." The plan was crazy to say the least because the mezzanine, that had partly collapsed, was probably way too heavy.

You are correct, Lieutenant. The transporter systems appear to be intact. I appreciate your willingness to test it; however, I believe you can determine what you need to know by transporting me directly into my office. It is a much smaller space, but I can determine the precise relative coordinates using the ship's schematics. It was only three decks up to engineering, but using the transporter would mean that she wouldn't have to pussyfoot up there, watching out in case the Arkarians had somehow managed to make it off Deck 9 already.

I think I've done everything I can from up here, so the rest will be up to the crew." That was hardly an ideal situation, but that was as best as he could manage for now... [Cmdr. Judith Eastman(-Williams), PhD & Ens. Mabel Henriksen - Battle Bridge, Deck 18]Judy listened to her crew once again. She was feeling a little chilly - her own fault for wearing a skirt - but if anything the cold helped make her more alert. "Ensign, I don't think we can afford to run every single force field right now," she told Ensign Niles. "We have to be more strategic. Focus on the key areas."Then came the matter of transporters. "We're not going to use a person as our first test subject," she decided, despite the suggestions. "I don't want to get either of you embedded in a wall."She looked over to Mabel. "Toss me your commbadge," she ordered. Mabel nodded. "Catch," she called out, throwing the little object in the general direction of the Captain's chair, where Judy, with honed reflexes, caught it. "Let's start by beaming this chocolate bar to engineering," Judy pitched her idea to the group, as she took a bar of very dark chocolate out of her handbag. She neatly broke off a cube for herself, and pinned the commbadge onto the packaging. "If this works, we can beam both of you out," she directed, after she finished her chocolate.

Saya headed to the engineering station and pulled up damage reports on the display, swiping through them quickly, changing priorities on maintenance, moving internal sensors to the top of the list. She glanced up to respond to Judy. I think it's likely that we locked down those decks quickly enough to contain the Arkarians. If we can communicate with any security officers within the locked down zone, they might be able to recapture them. Turning back to her computer, she added, Alternatively, we could pump some neurozine gas onto those decks. It would knock out everyone, but that would be preferable to allowing the prisoners to run rampant.
As soon as the Master Chief mentioned that other critical areas might be at risk, Niles' hands started moving, trying to inventory any deficiencies in the ship's security capabilities. This was hardly his strongest suit, but it was at least a little better than the one that dealt with actually being out there with a phaser in hand and dealing with unpleasant characters; he preferred phasers that delivered thousands of terajoules at a full light-second, or torpedoes that could ruin someone's day from three million kilometers from rest. But, for now, it meant he would be exercising his less-than-stellar set of skills all right. As the order to do just that came from Commander Eastman, not only did he start erecting every forcefield he could, and locking every door and hatch he could access, he actually got on the ship's internal broadcast. It would be much faster, and much more efficient, than contacting everyone individually. And, if the prisoners knew the ship was alerted to them, they might give themselves up a bit faster... =/\= "All stations, all departments, security alert. Secure all consoles not immediately required and physically disable doors to restricted areas from the inside if possible. Bridge out."=/\= Overall, it was a rather heavy-handed response, but without being able to positively locate the escaped prisoners, if only by finding humanoid life signs not accompanied by a commbadge, locking things down could slow them, and force them to make a commotion somewhere that might trip a damage control circuit or a security lockout... "Ma'am, I've erected every forcefield, closed every blast door and secured every hatch that's still responding across the entire ship. Isaiah Quinn - Battle Bridge, Deck 18, USS Mac] Isaiah turned towards the chief. It seemed they had the same idea where the transporters were concerned, but differed on how to go about testing it. It almost felt as if they were on the verge of bickering who get to dive on the landmine first. Commander Eastman, however, had a more practical means of testing their ability to transport within the ship. She obtained Mabel's commbadge and recommended using it to transport a piece of chocolate. There was no reason to argue with that. Plus, Engineering should be spacious enough that one wouldn't have to worry about large debris being scattered as an obstruction to a successful transport. "Aye, Commander," was Isaiah's reply. He then looked towards Chief Ozu. "Would you care to do the honors, Chief?" he asked. She was certainly among the most qualified present to execute the transport manually. Plus, he wasn't entirely sure if she wanted to attempt it from her station or physically run the trial down in Transporter Room 3. Meanwhile, it seemed that Niles had taken some initiatives to secure the most critical areas of the ship. The only question was how much of a head start did the prisoners have. "Have there been any direct reports from the brig?" He began to wonder if that was possibly among their first casualties, as he directed the question to the tactical officer.
