Set after Maelstrom & Call of Duty ...
[Landing Zone 2, Kerelia] *********************** [Brooke & Leanna - Bride's Tent - LZ2]
After spending the last couple of days on Kerelia, the time had finally come for the moment that Brooke had been waiting for, ever since her and Greg had gotten engaged. Months of planning had turned into something that she could of only dreamed about and now they could share it with everyone that they had invited to join them in celebrating their marriage. Most of the morning had been spent ensuring that everything was in place which was mainly taken care of by Lea and the staff from the bar that come with them from the station. Allowing the bride to be some time to not worry and just enjoy every single moment of her special day. Even getting ready had been a lot of fun, with laughter, snacks and cocktails to calm any nerves with Lea and Flick, the former having time away from the kids, with the arrival of her parents since Fells had gone away. Brooke had admired the Betazoid's strength and courage, in finding herself alone and how she had refused to let anyone down, especially Brooke and Greg. Knowing that she would share with them, the full details when she was ready too. For now it was all about the wedding and being together, especially on such a beautiful planet like Kerelia and the spot that they had chosen along the coast in the much safer landing zone 2. In fact there had been a quiet moment during the set up that had given Brooke further clarity, knowing that this was the start of her future as Mrs Ellis and she couldn't wait to see her beloved Greg. The minutes were counting down until that moment where she would meet him at the altar with her Father and friends beside her, but there was one last thing to do and that was put on her dress. Although not just yet as Lea poured them all one last cocktail a new one made especially for today. " So Ladies, who wants a Kerelian Sunrise?" Lea asked with a grin.

[Cmdr. Judith Eastman(-Williams) & Max Williams - LZ-2, Kerelia]The First Officer and her longtime husband materialized near the edge of the gathering. Max carried the wrapped gift they had chosen, while Judy's hands were occupied with her handbag and cane[fn]As a result of her sprained ankle in Maelstrom, Judy is still walking with her cane.[/fn]. The two had coordinated their outfits - although her dress was slightly shinier than his suit - as they did often. "Careful," he warned her as she began to walk on the sand towards the gathering. "The last thing you need is to injure yourself again and ruin the happy couple's day."Judy rolled her eyes. "I'm fine," she protested. "I smell like sunscreen, but I'm fine."On account of her very pale complexion, Judy was thoroughly lathered in sunscreen. "You're not fine, and you're not a young woman anymore, either," Max pushed his point. "You have to be more careful.""I'll be as reckless as I want. In fact, I think I'll do a space-jump next week, with the biggest case of Beetlesnuff I can find, just because you said that," she joked. "How's that for 'not a young woman'?"Max cracked up, amused by the mental image he had of Judy doing that. Off-duty, and accompanied by her spouse, Judy was markedly more animated than her on-duty persona. From behind her cat-eye sunglasses and triumphant smile, she began to look for familiar faces, as well as a place to set down the gift.

[ Ens Joshua Niles - LZ2 - Kerelia ]
An open invitation to a wedding. That was the sort of things an enterprising young officer such as Joshua Niles had not expected. If anything, in the interests of making things run smoothly, and that the groom was a Starfleet officer himself, he had expected he would have been tagged to be on some sort of duty, what with being the newest officer at this particular station. However, it would seem that he had not only been covered in the blanket invite, and spared being on duty at the time, but he'd actually been actively encouraged to attend.
Doctor Baker did mention how he had been working probably too hard for his own good, and that her opinion, if not an order, was that it would do him some good to spend some time planetside. Commander Eastman, too, had given her that most gentle urging to attend; after that incredibly soft-spoken rebuke he'd received on the Bridge, he had been afraid he was firmly in her bad books. But, it would seem, she was not one to hold grudges after a correction was given and put into application.
So, with some time to think, Ensign Niles found himself looking for something to wear. Of course, a dress uniform was always a good stand-by, but it had been strongly suggested that he wear civilian attire instead. And, so he did.
When the transporter beam dropped him off on the beach, the only item of uniform he wore was his commbadge, and otherwise he was clad in simple undyed linen trousers and shirt, and a pair of canvas deck shoes, and he found himself looking around, not feeling quite like he belonged, and desperate for at least an approachable familiar face.

"The gift table is over there," she told Max, gesturing at it with her handbag. "Thank you, my love," he acknowledged. "This thing is heavy.""No, it isn't. You're just an old man," she teased him. They settled on a crock-pot, which was currently inside the box in Max's arms. [ Chief Ozu Saya and Domen Kyo - Kerelia - LZ 2] Saya and Kyo materialized on the beach, looking out over the ocean as they appeared. Oh, this is beautiful, Kyo said as he took Saya's arm and they walked across the sand to where they could see a gift on a table. Their own wasn't much - a couple of bottles of springwine from Kyo's family winery - but they didn't know the couple very well, so it was difficult to choose something more personal. It was 2376, their first lot after the end of the war, and quite good. Indeed, Saya agreed, stepping lightly so as not to kick sand into her shoes. She wore a sleeveless, knee-length, pale yellow dress with white flowers on it and yellow flats. She'd taken the time to twist her long hair into a complicated Bajoran fashion that nestled gracefully on the back of her head. Kyo was dressed in similarly light clothes - loose, light green pants with an off-white shirt and comfortable shoes. His fair skin was coated with a good layer of sunscreen that should last through the wedding and reception. There are Judy and Max, Saya said, gesturing to the other couple who were just speaking to another guest. They headed over to greet their friends, Kyo taking short steps to keep pace with his much shorter mate. They made an interesting sight when they were together as he was nearly a foot and a half taller than Saya.

[Landing Zone 2 - Kerelia] As the familiar sound of the transporter beam faded away, Thea was able to fully take in the scene before her and smiled instantly, as she looked out towards the beach and ocean. The waves were gently lapping against the shore and she knew that she had made the right decision in accepting the invite to attend Brooke and Greg's wedding. She may not of known the bride to be for long, apart from striking up conversation whenever she popped by the bakery for the indulgent and delicious goodies that were sold there. However just like the advice she had given Ensign Niles it was the perfect way to spend some time away from the station and the ship before they headed out again. Of course there was the added bonus of Isaiah agreeing to accompany her to Kerelia as her plus one so to speak. There was no denying that they were close, something she realised more during her subsequent kidnap during their last mission and if people had nothing better to do than gossip about them arriving together then they could think what they liked. No she had every intention of enjoying his company and the day celebrating the union of two people and that's all that mattered. There had been the usual dilemma of what to wear until she found a peach coloured beaded dress that was simple, light and not cause too much discomfort in the sun. Although given the fact that she was pale and a redhead, Thea had made sure that she was suitably protected before teaming her outfit with sandals and leaving her long hair loose. In her hand she carried a small gold clutch and a delicately wrapped gift containing a Bajoran figurine that depicted love and happiness. Turning towards Isaiah, Thea smiled again as she spoke to the handsome scientist and her date for the day. " It's a much better view than the last time we were here and I know I've said this before, but thank you for coming with me".

[Gregory Ellis & Chief/Bestperson Kate Morelli - Groom's Tent, LZ-2]Morelli handed him a shot of something. Not taking a moment to sniff, eye or ask what the glass contained, he knocked it back without delay and without a word. He shuddered and placed the glass back on the table, and then returned his attention to the mirror in front of them. The tent was finally, blessedly quiet. The only people inside where him and his bestperson, the Leeds' Security chief and Greg's best friend, trusted confidant and former colleague, Kate Morelli. There'd been no other choice in his mind for this position; he'd want nobody else at his back during the most important day of his life thus far. Morelli's no-nonsense attitude and utter lack of pretense was just what his frayed nerves needed. If he'd thought the engagement party was nerve-wracking, he sorely underestimated what the day itself would do to him. His stomach rolled. "Nervous?" Morelli asked, amusement evident in her voice as she handed him a second shot. "No!" Greg insisted, and then took the glass. At the woman's look of disbelief, he amended. "Yes. More shots." He plucked the container of clear, nameless liquid Morelli held from her grasp and downed that in one, too. The Chief, who somehow managed to make her tailored light purple suit look comfortable and beach-ready, shook her head very firmly. "That's the last one. I won't have the groom falling drunkenly over his own feet at his wedding, or forgetting his vows.""You're the worst, Morelli."She grinned, then reached out to smooth down the lapels of the simple, purple-hued light jacket. Greg had opted for no tie (thank the Makers for the beach wedding and the relaxed dress code), simple slacks in the same colour palette as his jacket, and he was still barefoot. Once satisfied, Morelli stepped back and gave him a nod. "You scrub up well, Commander.""That's the nicest thing you've ever said to me." Greg pretended to wipe away a tear, his nerves making him slightly giddy. "Wait 'til you hear my speech."Greg's eyes widened suddenly, all thoughts of teasing his bestperson flying out the tent flaps as soon as he caught the thinly-veiled threat. "Now get out there," she said, slipping effortlessly into the businesslike demeanour she normally kept for her green Sec/Tac recruits, "And welcome your guests. Then go and marry the woman you love.""Yes, ma'am."[Gregory Ellis - Seating Area, LZ-2 Beach]Following many quick glances beyond his tent to the gradually building crowd as guests arrived, Greg ventured outside. Buoyed by the couple of shots and Morelli's threats pep talk, he spotted the Eastman-Williamses amongst a few others, and made his way directly toward them. His bestperson split temporarily from his company and moved toward a young couple, ready to engage and direct them to the bar or their preferred seating. The event itself wasn't stiff or formal, and so the groom and his small party would play multiple roles before proceedings started, though the bride and her back-up were under strict instruction not to emerge until everyone was situated. Greg waved over a server carrying a tray of champagne flutes and accompanied him toward the group. "Welcome, everyone!" He greeted, his voice steady and his open arms effusive as he hid his anxiety with all the ease of an experienced commander. "Thank you so much for coming. Brooke and I really appreciate it. Anyone for champagne? Orange juice?""Judy, Max, lovely to see you, and Saya and Kyo, isn't it? Flick mentions you often." He turned toward the young man wearing linen trousers and shirt, and drew a blank as to his name. Instead of trying to force the answer to come to him, he offered his hand. "Hi, welcome. I'm Greg Ellis."[Bestperson Kate Morelli - Gift Table, LZ-2 Beach]Meanwhile, Kate Morelli had targeted the sexy redhead, who she believed she could identify from the list Greg had asked her to look over, as a doctor. She did spare a glance for the man accompanying her, but her brown eyes automatically swung back toward the peachy vision. "I'm afraid I'll have to ask you to leave, Miss."Pretty soon Morelli's smirk matched the mischief in her eyes as she paused for a beat, and then delivered her terrible chat up line. "Nobody is allowed to be more beautiful than the bride." Naturally, nobody would be, but it wasn't every day she got to flirt with pretty ladies all dressed up for a wedding. She wasn't in the least bit sorry, either. "I'm bestperson, Kate Morelli. If you need anything - at all - please let me know." She meant that last part mostly for Peach, but she'd likely give her friend any assistance he wanted, too, because that was part of her duties.

[Felicity Ellis - Bride's Tent, LZ-2]"Me!" Felicity responded immediately to Leanna's question from her spot at the covered entrance of the tent. She'd been taking it upon herself to sneak peaks at the action outside, though she was simultaneously there just in case the bride wanted to do the same. She couldn't believe the restraint Brooke was showing; Felicity didn't think she'd be able to suppress her natural nosiness for this long. The last few days had been filled with fun and preparation, but she'd also been able to get to know her future sister-in-law all the better, while keeping a close eye on her best friend, who was going through something that broke Felicity's heart a little. "Mix it LZ-2 pretty, Lea, but with an LZ-1 punch." The difference between the two landing sites were like night and day. Both absolutely stunning in their own way, but one teaming with dangerous life, while the other felt like an isolated paradise. It was an inspired choice for a wedding venue, she thought. Then, she caught sight of her brother and Morelli exiting their tent and meandering over the sand through their guests. She sucked in a breath, and stilled for a moment as finally, the notion that her brother was getting married, today, took root in her mind. It had seemed like a faraway event, an unreachable concept before, and now it was upon them, it was here, and she had to battle a sudden mixture of emotions that threatened to overwhelm her for a moment. But despite any upset she felt that Cameron was not there to celebrate with them, or any anger over her mother's bad behaviour in the run up to Greg and Brooke's big day, it was still a happy occasion, and she still had every reason to be thankful and merry. "Guests are starting to arrive," she told the others as she stepped away from the entrance and covered it again, before moving back over toward Leanna's makeshift bar. "There's barely a cloud in the sky, the fresh breeze will keep everyone cool and my brother looks ready to make you an Ellis." She grinned at Brooke, before adding, "Sorry about that.""Well, ladies," she began as she leaned against the table, waiting for their last cocktail before taking the trip up the sandy aisle, "What should we toast to this morning?"

[ Brooke & Leanna - Bride's Tent, LZ2] Both Lea and Brooke grinned as Flick answered the Betazoid first, the Bride especially slightly relieved that her soon to be Sister in Law and close friend was on lookout duty. It wasn't as if she hadn't wanted to look out and try to spot her beloved Greg, far from it as he was the only one on her mind right now. It felt as though she should pinch herself to make sure that this was real but the butterflies and excitement that was currently coursing through her veins was proof enough and would be a complete bag of nerves if it wasn't for Lea, Flick and her Dad who had naturally wandered off to allow the girls to have some fun. " Make that two, Lea and that kind of bite sounds good to me" she replied with a hint of her usual playfulness as she turned round to face them both. Flick wasn't far off with her description of the different landing zones that had so far been searched and catalogued, grateful that they had that information before they had visited the planet before settling on the beach as the perfect place for their informal and relaxed wedding. " Coming right up" Lea said responding to them both, glad that she had decided to take advantage of having her parents visit. Yes she had struggled knowing that she may never have her own wedding but now she was here, it had helped with the hurt. Shaking off the negative thoughts, she began to mix the drinks, giving her focus in getting them right. before Flick then informed them that the guests had started to arrive. Lea couldn't help but smile, which seemed to grow a little brighter at the mention of the lack of clouds, the fresh breeze and how Greg looked like he was ready to make Brooke an Ellis. Brooke felt her heart quicken and found herself smiling too as it was infectious, as was the teasing comment that followed. " That's okay, I knew what I was getting into and I can't wait to finally be an Ellis".Her tone was fun yet with a hint of anticipation underneath as Lea finished preparing their drinks as Flick then asked what they should toast too. Thanking Lea, Brooke picked hers up as Lea was the one to make a suggestion. " To love, happiness and one hell of a good party".

[NPC - SilverTail to-Ennien - Kerelia - LZ2] SilverTail materialized on the beach, holding his breath after his first trip in the transporter. As soon as he exhaled and drew in a breath of the air around him, his senses exploded with scents and sounds. Ears swiveling and whiskers twitching, he noted the table where other guests seemed to be leaving packages. With a flick of his bare tail, the Sivaoan carried his own gift, as he'd been informed was expected, to the table. SilverTail had wrapped several brightly-colored usefuls around a small wooden carving he'd done of a slightly abstract tree, the form flowed up from a flat base into slim branches that twisted and flowed. The Sivaoan had a blue, green and gold useful draped around his furless body. It wasn't strictly necessary in the warm atmosphere, but he liked the festive air it gave him. While his own people were accustomed to his hairless state, the nakedness could be shocking for others. Anyway, he thought the colors stood out quite nicely against his black and pink patched skin. He'd been pleased to be able to attend this event in addition to making their first visit to the planet's surface. The whole idea of a marriage had been a fascinating and confusing concept to the Sivaoans as they didn't practice it themselves. They chose a mate and had children if they wished; but partners rarely spent more than a few years together, might have a couple of litters together, but one was more common. Children were cared for and indulged by the entire camp until they were old enough to take care of themselves. It was wonderful to be in a natural environment. The holodecks were passable, but the Sivaoans could still feel the walls around them. Something about how sounds reverberated. SilverTail caught a whiff of alcohol and wrinkled his nose. They'd been warned that it would be present, but he'd decided that the experience was worth the discomfort. Seeing Commander Eastman and Chief Ozu, SilverTail headed their direction, waving his tail in greeting.

[NPC - Sundancer to-Srallansre - LZ-2, Kerelia]Especially after his (limited) observation of married couples in the Federation, Sundancer was intrigued, and puzzled, by the practice. It struck him as very insular, to choose to share one's home with only the immediate family structure so prevalent in the Federation. Moreover, he'd noticed certain married couples, with a prominent example being Commander Eastman and her spouse, engage in regular, petty arguments that didn't seem connected to anything - perhaps a bizarre ritual. This didn't seem healthy, and yet the humans (and other species) appeared to thrive in this dynamic. Feeling a little naked (as foreign as the term would be to his people) without his drum, Sundancer opted not to go along with SilverTail for the moment. Instead, he stood back, content to observe from a short distance unless someone approached him.

"That's a promising young fellow over there," she quietly told Max, gesturing with her cane in the general direction of Ensign Niles. At last, Max found his sunglasses, and began to put them on as they walked along the sand. "Ensign Niles," Judy greeted the young man. "It's good to see you made it. Allow me to introduce you to my husband, Max.""Pleasure to meet you," Max said. He was, as always, happy to let his beloved do most of the talking. [ Chief Ozu Saya and Domen Kyo - Kerelia - LZ 2] Saya and Kyo materialized on the beach, looking out over the ocean as they appeared. [ Ens Joshua Niles - LZ2 - Kerelia ]As he looked about, it would seem that a familiar face had found him and he turned towards the source of the voice. Which, he had to say, took him longer than he would have liked. Under the open sky, without bulkheads for sound to reverberate of in a way that had become so familiar to him given he'd grown so used to being in the enclosed environment of a starship; in fact, he'd even barely been on the station since he had arrived to the area. But then, he saw the source: Commander Eastman herself, accompanied by a man about her own age and the gesture towards him was a clear invitation to join them. As he approached them, he caught sight of Master Chief Ozu and her own other half, and just like that, the young Ensign found himself in the middle of a social gathering by people who clearly knew each other fairly well. And, of course, that meant he had to make his introductions. "Ma'am, Mister Eastman." His words were accompanied by a polite nod, before he turned his head towards the Chief Engineer and her own companion. "Master Chief, Sir."

[Gregory Ellis - Seating Area, LZ-2 Beach]Following many quick glances beyond his tent to the gradually building crowd as guests arrived, Greg ventured outside. I'm Greg Ellis." [NPC - SilverTail to-Ennien - Kerelia - LZ2] SilverTail materialized on the beach, holding his breath after his first trip in the transporter. "Master Chief, Sir." [Cmdr. Judith Eastman(-Williams) & Max Williams - LZ-2, Kerelia]The young Ensign's misstep was one that used to upset Max (easy-going as he usually was) 20 years ago, when he was still getting his bearings in this relationship. At the time, he saw it as reducing him to an extension of his spouse, but he had come to terms with it. Two decades in, it was even amusing, and he cracked a smile. "My last name is 'Williams'," he corrected gently, showing the same kindness and long fuse that his wife had. "Eastman is her name."Judy's attention was focused on the rapidly growing gathering. "Oh, it's our pleasure to be here, Greg," she told the groom. "We wouldn't miss it for the world, as much as the world did try."Judy tapped her fingers on her cane, indicating to what she had referred. "In any case, we were just talking about names. Brooke is taking yours, right?" she asked. Unable to offer Saya and Kyo a hug, and too caught in the flow of conversation, she slipped in a smile and a nod. Max noticed the hairless Sivaoan, and offered a little wave in return.

As the familiar sound of the transporter beam faded away, Thea was able to fully take in the scene before her and smiled instantly, as she looked out towards the beach and ocean. " It's a much better view than the last time we were here and I know I've said this before, but thank you for coming with me".[...]
[Bestperson Kate Morelli - Gift Table, LZ-2 Beach]Meanwhile, Kate Morelli had targeted the sexy redhead, who she believed she could identify from the list Greg had asked her to look over, as a doctor. [Lt. (j.g.) Isaiah Quinn - LZ2, Kerelia] As he materialized on the planet, Isaiah momentarily had a flurry of mixed feelings. After all, it hadn't been that long ago that he'd nearly lost his life on this planet. Granted, the scenery of Landing Zone Two was much more consoling than Landing Zone One. Of course, how could a beach not be? There was also the added company of the very special woman standing alongside him. In addition to being the one that was responsible for saving his life that day, Thea had also been the one to invite Isaiah to accompany her to the wedding. He had agreed in large part because over the past couple of months, he had found that he quite enjoyed her company. In fact, in the times that they were apart, he found himself thinking about the next time he would see her. When Thea spoke, her voice broke his internal musings. He nodded along, agreeing with her appraisal of the view. "You're right, it's one of the most beautiful things I've seen all day," he commented simply. He didn't think it necessary to identify the other beautiful sight. Though, if he did, he'd give her a clue by telling her that it was a little over a meter and a half tall with long, red hair. Thea thanked him for coming along, and he smiled in response. "Can't imagine anywhere else I'd rather be."They hadn't been standing there long before someone else spoke. Isaiah's eyes fell upon a woman who seemed to be suffering from a narrow field of vision, as she joked that she was going to have to ask Thea to leave. She then stated that no one was allowed to be more beautiful than the bride. "Well, that is going to be a problem, isn't it?" Isaiah said as he turned to smile at Thea. Kate then introduced herself to them both, but Isaiah was pretty certain that it was only his vicinity to Thea that had earned him the benefit of her identity as the bestperson for the ceremony. She also stated that if (Thea) needed anything, that all that was needed was to ask. Isaiah didn't feel threatened, but he had to applaud Kate's confidence. "Thanks, Kate," he replied with a smile. Perhaps it was instinct, or perhaps it wasn't entirely subconscious, but Isaiah could feel his fingers moving to interlock with Thea's. "We'll keep that in mind."

[Landing Zone 2 - Beach] When Isaiah replied to her comment about how beautiful the view was as opposed to their last visit to the planet and to her thanks for being there with her. Thea continued to smile, feeling somewhat buoyed by his words and the way he looked at her. There was no denying how she felt about him, but seeing his reactions and spending what time she could with him, only seemed to make each experience better. Of course just being here with him, was something different entirely as opposed to when she was the one who saved his life and yet thought back to how that had essentially been the catalyst for everything that had happened between them since then. " I agree and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else right now".Her response whilst honest, also came with a hint of playfulness that she always used around him. However when they were then approached by a rather pretty looking woman wearing purple, Thea's attention was on her as she then informed Thea that she would have to leave. At first, the Redhead was a little perplexed until she realised that she was being chatted up, which only made her grin. Thea wasn't naive and knew that her comments were directed more towards her and yet appreciated the attention that she was being given. Knowing that if she had been on her own she would of been more receptive and allow herself to see where it went, as it wasn't the first time that she had gotten involved with a woman. But she wasn't and Thea knew that Isaiah was the one for her, still grinning despite herself at not only the attempt but also Isaiah's response. " I suppose it is" she remarked, playfully before Kate introduced herself and made the offer that if they or Thea specifically needed anything to let her know. Again it would of been tempting, if that's what she wanted to explore but before she could respond, Thea was left pleasantly surprised when Isaiah not only spoke first but also reached for her hand. Her heart quickened at the gesture, allowing her fingers to connect with his, as she then spoke. " Yes, thank you and we will".
