[Deck 5 - Elijah's Quarters]
[...]
Elijah blinked and was uncomfortably aware at the brightness of the room. Before he could register where his dream had transported him to, he listened to the birds chirping loudly outside; the window to his right was open. He blinked again and then looked down. Before him on the desk was an open book and though Elijah didn’t read it, he knew it was one of the many books on the Academy’s list.
He was at home. Six months before Starfleet.
With one hand, he felt his stomach which was flat and uncomfortably abs-less. He sat stiffly, 17 years old again; a skinny kid with shoulder length hair and acne. Why was he here? He hadn’t dreamt of this house in years. With a soft swing of the computer chair, he turned to look at his childhood bedroom. A box room with minimal furniture, clean and orderly. Looking at the door, Elijah knew it was locked, and that was a distinctly uncomfortable reminder that his house had brought him nothing but pain. And he wanted out. The StrangerThe sparsely-furnished room felt... cold. Like a trap. A cage for the dreamer, wherein they could only consider the outside and what possibilities there might be beyond that locked door. A push, perhaps. The walls of the tiny room began to move, pressing toward the dreamer, trapping him further, allowing him no space. From a rapidly disappearing corner, it watched with a detached air, waiting for this one to snap. [ P03 Kaya Som | Deck 6, Crew Quarters ][...] She slept and she dreamed. In the dream she felt bleary, heavy of limb and slow to speak. She was wearing a hospital gown and she just knew something was terribly wrong with her. Corridor after corridor was empty and voices seemed like they'd be just around the corner. A pain in her ban[fn]Trill abdominal pouch[/fn] stopped her and she sank to her knees. She drew up the gown to look only to see the fold of skin red and angry. "Hah-deh-zhi," she swore. [fn]Mild expletive[/fn] She got back up to her feet and began following voices once again, this time calling out again. "I think something's wrong." The StrangerWhat is wrong?Asked the voice. In some dreams the voice boomed, it threatened, it was malevolence. To this dreamer it was curious. Who do you follow? This dreamer created a maze for her mind, her goal, her end, out of reach. It wanted to know why.
Tags: Elijah Azaria , Kaya Som *** The StrangerIts grip on the dreamers strengthened. Those who had escaped would be let go, for now. For those who remained, with each minute that passed they were drawn deeper and pushed further toward their end goals. And there it would keep them. They had much to prove.

From a rapidly disappearing corner, it watched with a detached air, waiting for this one to snap. [Deck 5 - Elijah's Quarters] Elijah didn’t notice the walls at first, memories he wished to never experience again threatening to take hold. His childhood room was a cage, yes, but it was also the safest place for him. He stood, fists clenching the blue t-shirt hanging off his torso, and walked to the door. That’s when he realised. The room was already small, too small, and watching the walls shift towards him broke a damn in his self-control. He was beginning to panic, something he hadn’t done in years. Emotions were chaotic, they needed to be kept in check; he needed to keep them in check. He banged on the door but refused to let himself call out. He wouldn’t beg, never again would he beg.
Turning his back to the door, he closed his eyes and counted back from ten. His heart was beating fast, his chest aching. He wouldn’t beg. This is just a dream. He wouldn’t beg. Eyes open again, he was horrified that the falls continued to close in. Not a dream then, a nightmare. He turned back to the door and did something his mind told him was pointless, but he was disgusted to realise he was definitely panicking; he turned the doorknob. And it opened. Without a glance back, he escaped out into the corridor. Leaning against the banister railing at the top of the stairs, he caught his breath, grip so tight his knuckles were white. Nightmares aren’t real. Wake up. Wake up.
A loud clang from downstairs caught his attention and without even considering going downstairs, Elijah found himself at the bottom. He stepped forwards, peering around the corner into the kitchen. He shouldn’t be here. He wasn’t allowed out except for meal times and chores. He’d be disciplined. But his Mother was at the stove, wearing a knee-length yellow dress; pearls in her hair. Every few seconds, she slammed the pan against the stovetop. Elijah continued to walk towards her.
“Mom, are you alright?”

[Thea's Escape?] As she continued to move towards the source of the other voice, Thea half expected to be followed by the husk that had once been her mother who would as always try to guilt her into doing something that she didn't want to do. Either that or be dragged back into the flames like she was some kind of animal. A shudder went down her spine at the thought of becoming a member of the living dead and vowed to not look back and keep going. Of course there was still some danger of being trapped by the flames without her Zombie Mother's help but she just had to think of getting away from the computer core, find whoever the voice belonged to and hope they were friendly, instead of being some figment of her subconscious. Isaiah wasn't far from her thoughts either as she kept going forward, even though she knew that the voice didn't belong to him, despite her wanting it too. Then was the matter of what they were doing here, not to mention why her dream had turned so evil and twisted. Although if she was being realistic, nightmares were a common occurrence when you were a member of Starfleet. Still she had to try and think more positively and that she could get out of this. So with a surge of adrenaline and fighting the fear that threatened to make her succumb to the fire, she finally made it to the door, elated to see it open. Emerging a few minutes later coughing and probably resembling something out of an old fashioned disaster movie, Thea took a moment to breath then looked around. Spotting a man in science blue, her heart leapt for a second until she realised that it wasn't Isaiah but he was familiar to the CMO. Once her vision had cleared a little more, Thea recognised him as Ensign Th'zhaar, their Andorian/Orion science officer, who had joined the Mac for this mission. Okay she didn't know why she was dreaming about him but then again, something still seemed off about the whole thing and wasn't going to ignore a friendly face. " Ensign, wait was it you that I heard calling out?".

[Dream]
“Mom! Mom!” Tom cried out in his thought.
He looked around and felt that he was surrounded by darkness. He did not have a weapon, there was nothing around him. He only has his clothes. He felt for the moment alone. His heart sank as he realizes his hesitation cause his Mother to be captured. Tom felt that he was alone. However, at the same time, he felt that someone was observing him. He knew there was no one but at the same time, he could not shake the feeling that something was wrong.
The darkness that surrounded him quickly changed. He felt that he was underwater and Tom opened his eyes. He felt a burning sensation on his eyes as he recognized he was in saltwater. The young Teenager was confused as he was on a ship. Now he was underwater. Disoriented, Tom used what little strength he had left trying to reach to what he believed to be on the surface. He tried to follow an air bubble that would lead him to the top. He swam as much as he could but he was also in intense pain from the previous beat up.
The Teenager arrived to the surface as he almost had no strength left.
“Help! Help! He screamed as he heard no response. He did not see anything or anyone that could save him. The Teenager realizing that it was futile slowly stopped and though it was time to let go.
This is end He thought to himself.

[The Nightmare] From the direction of the fire, someone answered, calling back that they would try to find him. The name Thea did not immediately bring up any memories, and for a second Shavan tried to remember who that was. Then he saw Dr. Thea Baker, chief medical officer of the Mac, walk out of the open door, recognizing her when she spoke to him. There was no reason for her to be in Shavan’s nightmare, but in the back of his mind he assumed his subconscious had simply conjured up someone at random that he had seen aboard the Mac. To his relief the dream version of Dr. Baker seemed neither malicious, nor seriously harmed. Although she seemed to be just as lost as Shavan was. “Yes. I was looking for… the way out when I heard your voice.” he answered, hesitating when he thought of the other footsteps he’d heard, but it wouldn’t make sense for anyone he hoped they’d belong to to be on the ship. He glanced behind him; the way he had come was now shrouded in complete darkness. The ship rocked again. “I don’t think we should stay here.” Shavan had the unsettling feeling of being watched from the darkness, and instinct continued to tell him to get out. Tag Thea Baker

[Sir Dugris "Doug" Zaman, MBE, PhD, JD, MBA, PE, RA - The Nightmare]There was too much going on here. Doug looked at it all, the Bridge, the sea, the fire (beautiful, beautiful fire), the tense scene with the two individuals, one of whom looked vaguely familiar... there were so many. What's more, none of the pieces fit. The fire, maybe, but nothing else was his. There was also a presence that didn't belong either. "What's going on?" Doug asked rather loudly. "I know you're here. What's going on?"Doug could visualize his ex rolling her brown eyes, seemingly getting swallowed into her purple bangs. Except, well, this version of her had no hair. The StrangerIt was disappointed. Even those with the benefit of centuries were equally as blind. You can see what's going on.The disembodied woman in the fountain sounded just as dismissive. Two more scenes glimmered into existence; one above and one below. The image in the sky was wearing a hospital gown, wandering through a maze of passageways, calling out. The one below was the escaped student and a lady in a yellow dress. “Mom, are you alright?” The StrangerI've ruined dinner. The metallic clank of the pan hitting the stove sounded again, echoing through the kitchen. Then, the woman in the bright dress turned slowly toward the dreamer. Don't tell your father. The pan, once empty, was suddenly filled with rotting meat. The woman twisted at an odd angle, and brandished the decaying meal toward her son. Writhing maggots began to fall from the pan with the jerky movements. Then her face began to fall in on itself, crumbling, skin discolouring until it looked exactly like her dinner.

She could do it again. She was determined, but then came the call for help. The voice was panicked; almost whipped away by the scream of the wind and the crash of the waves, but close enough for her to notice. He sounded like she felt inside. Then the dark head disappeared quickly, but Felicity thought she had a decent idea of where to follow. With a deep breath, she dove beneath a particularly high wave, and searched for some sign of a person amongst the murky black. A flash of colour - clothes. With renewed effort, and never once realising that she was in a dream, she kicked with determination and reached an arm for the young man. She grabbed a hold of his shirt, and tugged, her face lifted in the direction of the sky. Once they broke the surface, she positioned herself behind him, one arm wrapped around his chest as she swam with the other toward the beach, shouting at him all the while. After what felt like forever, finally she felt something solid beneath her feet. She collapsed on the sand, face down, her limbs barely moving, though arm still across his chest. "Bloody hell..." She wheezed, then rolled over onto her back, quite unable to catch her breath for some time. She stared up into the darkened sky at the two round, unblinking eyes that stared back. She shivered.

Tag Thea Baker [Joint Nightmare] There was the tiniest amount of doubt that maybe she had been imagining her potential saviour from the flames and her Zombie mother, due to sheer determination and desperation. However as Shavan seemed to recognise her, the doubt diminished as quickly as it had taken hold of her, especially when he then answered her. From what he had told her, she hadn't been the only one who had wanted to escape, even if he had hesitated a little and she understood his reasoning for being that way, thanks to what she had just experienced and witnessed. " Well I'm glad that you did as it allowed me to escape from whatever was in there" Thea replied gratefully, taking one last look at the door she had come through, before she noticed Shavan do something similar and saw the darkness behind them. When the ship then rocked and he suggested that they shouldn't stay here, she was in full agreement as she didn't plan on waiting around either. " Good idea as I've no idea what exactly is going on but I agree, we need to keep moving and find a way out".

[Sir Dugris "Doug" Zaman, MBE, PhD, JD, MBA, PE, RA - Nightmare-scape]Doug glared at his ex, who couldn't seem to avoid mocking him. Then, with a devilish grin, almost oblivious to everything else, he took out some flint and a bit of steel from his jacket pocket, and methodically rubbed these together. After a few awkward minutes, the 4th former Mrs. Zaman caught fire. "Boom, roasted," Doug announced, looking at his handiwork. "That was a devastating human insult once. You've just been devastated."As if from the force of Doug's insult, the wife and all Borg paraphernalia disappeared, and the fountain began to spew cheese again. "Not so clever now," Doug hollered at whatever the presence was, standing triumphantly for a moment, before the Fondue fountain began to choke up and wheeze. "Uh-oh," the ancient man astutely observed. "Run!"Doug ran as fast as he could, but not fast enough to fully dodge the seemingly infinite flow of dairy products. His suit, and the back of his head, were pelted as he ran. "Are you all right?" he instinctively asked. "And could some cheese help?"If Doug could choose his death, drowning in Fondue would probably be his first choice. All this time, he was oblivious to many of the scenes seemingly unfolding, clearly not belonging to this world and yet somehow here. There was a being ruining his vacation.

[Dream] I always thought I was a fighter Tom thought This is my end…I wanted to be something and I would die drowning He continued his though as he felt his body drifting. As his eyes remained closed he felt the darkness coming closer to him. He felt alone floating. [Felicity Ellis - The Dream]Progress was slow, painful. She wheezed, then rolled over onto her back, quite unable to catch her breath for some time. She stared up into the darkened sky at the two round, unblinking eyes that stared back. She shivered. The darkness was interrupted as he felt someone holding him. First, he believed that it might be his Mother, trying to save him. Then he remembered what happened she got kidnapped on the ship and it was his fault. He felt powerless as he felt this body dragging him but for at the moment, he wanted everything to end. He did not remember or paid attention to all the details and his mind was in what happened. He did not know how he ended up in a water planet. For a moment Tom thought maybe the Pirates transported him to a world as his punishment to try and fight them. He did not know much until he felt the sand coming from him. He heard the faint voice of a female saying bloody hell. He felt the sand coming into him and he coughed out water. He rolled over and coughed up some more water. He said softly “Thanks, but you should have let me to die” . Tom mentioned as he was clearly upset. He tried getting up but he was powerless. Doug ran all the way to the beach, where he found two figures, both looking somewhat familiar. Them being drenched, and his glasses having specks of cheese on them, he couldn't quite tell. The Teenager tried to get up again as his body was still bloody and could barely move. “Are you crazy old man?” . The Teenager responded in anger. As he continued coughing the last of his water. He then drenched with his clothes he looked at the woman and then the guy and said “How is cheese going to make things better? . He yelled in more anger. It did not take much time for the Tennger to try and walk. As he tried to get up and move with his own strength. He realized he was still weak. He took two steps and quickly felt into the ground again. The kid grabbed sand on his hand and he tried to be stoic and he began crying. “No…it’s not ok. Pirates attacked the ship and kidnapped Mom. And they kidnapped her because…I hesitated on taking a shot and then I am on the water on this beach with you people. I don’t know what’s going on!” . As the Teenager finish his anger turned into anguish as he just sat there crying with his blood and bruises showing.

Tag Felicity Ellis, Thomas Jett, and anyone who possibly wants a stray bit of cheese in their nightmare. [the dream] While Alex was asleep in his quarters he had a dream that he went back before he even joined Starfleet. It was when his older brother was getting married to his wife Clarice on the beach however much to his surprise it was going to take a surprising twist. While everyone was dressed in their formal wedding attire he was the only one without any pants. “Is this real or just a dream? If this is real then this is so horrifying and embarrassing.” Listening to the strangers voice he wondered what the stranger meant. He was confused but he figured that it could only mean one thing. It was going to be a puzzle meant for him to figure out so that he could get to the reward. However he was still clueless about one thing did the stranger mean that his brother was going to disappear mean that he couldn’t find his brother or save him. If that was the case then he knew that he had to find and save his older brother. As he was trying to figure it out there seemed to be subtle clues to what he was supposed to do but then again there was going to be set traps that will go off in whichever direction he went. He went down the path using the hints but he was blinded by a cloud of smoke. “How am I supposed to get through this fog and why do I smell cheese?” He reached through the fog and grabbed the cheese. [ MCPO Ozu Saya - Saya's Nightmare] Saya had to drop several feet from the bottom of the ladder. Physical pain was added to emotional as her ankle twisted upon landing when she tried to protect her son from being crushed. She was gasping from sobs, from exertion, and now from pain as she tried to make sense of her surroundings. She was no longer on her father's old ship, but on the bridge of the Mac. And there was someone else present. Not an enemy, thankfully, because she couldn't run anymore. M-murder. Cardassian, she gasped, trying to bring breathing and emotions under control. Evekh started to wail, finally catching up with the fact that his mother was upset and the jostling he'd taken as Saya raced down the ladder. Saya looked around the bridge wildly. H-have to keep going. The lock won't hold for long. Still holding Evekh close, she started struggling to her feet, crying out in pain as she put weight on her injured ankle. [Lt. (j.g.) Isaiah Quinn - Shared Nightmare] The first word uttered by Saya quickly captured Isaiah's attention. Murder. Had she seen something? Perhaps who had been responsible for Thea. She also mentioned a Cardassian. Though, if Isaiah were honest, none of it was making any sense. And the fact that Saya wasn't making sense was even more worrisome. He'd never seen her in such a state: panicked... near hysterical. He didn't have time to think before she began to ramble even more. Saying that she had to keep going, and that a lock wouldn't hold. None of it made much sense, but he could tell that she wouldn't be going much further from the pain she sounded like she was in. Isaiah knelt down to close the medkit he'd been using before. His eyes scanned Thea's remains once more, his heart heavy. As much as he wanted to deny it, there wasn't anything else he could for her. Not now. He moved back towards Saya. "Chief, listen," Isaiah started. "Why don't you let me take your son? You can bear your weight on me. We can get to the observation lounge, see about your leg and then get out of here." He stood there, wondering if she'd accept his proposal. It was clear that she wanted to get out of there. At least with his proposal, they'd get out of immediate danger. It was easy enough to seal the doors between the observation lounge and the Bridge. From there it'd just be a matter of treating her wound and then moving to a different deck via the Jefferies tubes or the turbolift. "Chief... Saya? I need you to trust me."

She closed her eyes and pressed her face against the toddler's sweaty red curls that looked so much like his father's. She tried to focus on what Quinn was saying. At first, all she could understand was that he wanted to take her son from her. For a moment, she gripped him tighter, unwilling to consider letting anyone else take him. She wouldn't be able to bear it if something happened to him. Slowly, she realized that she couldn't continue to carry Evekh with her injured ankle. With a shuddering breath, Saya relinquished her hold on her child to the young officer and got to her good foot, resting a hand on Quinn's arm to steady herself. Do, do you know what is going on? I was on my father's ship, she tried to explain as they made their way across the bridge. Her brow furrowed as she realized how illogical that was. Her father's ship was in a storage hangar on Earth. She'd taken Kyo to see it one time, but Evekh had never been there. None of this made sense, now that she was calming herself.

[...] Doug ran all the way to the beach, where he found two figures, both looking somewhat familiar. Them being drenched, and his glasses having specks of cheese on them, he couldn't quite tell.
Tag Felicity Ellis , Thomas Jett , and anyone who possibly wants a stray bit of cheese in their nightmare. [Dream] [...] The darkness was interrupted as he felt someone holding him. [...] The Teenager tried to get up again as his body was still bloody and could barely move. [Felicity Ellis - The Dream]Felicity rolled her eyes at the youngster's melodramatic comment that she should have left him to die. She wheezed in a few more breaths, her chest tight and painful, and then moved her head to look at him. He was Thomas Jett. Younger, looking like a drowned rat, but unmistakably him. "Tom?" She asked, disbelief in her voice. Why was he suddenly a teenager? Why were they on a beach? Who invited Sir Doug and his cheese? She groaned as she moved, rolling back onto her stomach, and then grabbing fistfuls of wet sand as she tried to push herself up. "What the bloody hell is going on here?" She'd made it to her knees and she pushed her soaked hair off her forehead, her eyes as stormy as the sky above as she stared at the two of them. "Tom, there are no pirates, nobody has been kidnapped," she told him, trying to get a handle on the horrible feeling of disquiet inside of her. "Now, can someone tell me what has happened, and what the hell that is?" She pointed up toward the dusky sky, where the giant eyes blinked. That was when a hand reached out toward Sir Doug, and was followed by a pantsless helmsman.

[Petty Officer Kellen Gates - Asleep]His arch nemesis, Fritz Frederick, AKA Professor Inclement, was holding a futuristic looking phaser pistol against his Love Interest's pretty neck. "Unhand her, foul pedagogue!" Gatesy sliced the air with his huge broadsword. He wasn't sure why he had a sword while his enemy had a gun, or why he was dressed in a very revealing gladiator costume, but sometimes these stories made no sense. "NEVAAAHHHH!" Professor Inclement cried, and then shot the busty blonde at point-blank range. Kellen watched, agog, as the laser split Miss Pennyless in two. His sword drooped and the nefarious Fritz Frederick threw his head back and cackled with glee. "YOUR TURN, Mr. Gates!"Suddenly terrified, Kellen Gates began to stumble backward, but his pitiful appearance did nothing to earn any sympathy from the villain. "Mine is an evil laugh!" He cackled again, and opened fire. That was what spurred the dreaming medic into action. He took off at a run, headed straight for the hedge maze. His arms pumped, sword still in grasp as greenery closed around him. The sound of Professor Inclement and his strange, murderous weapon was fading away, but it was quickly replaced by the nighttime, woodland noises surrounding him and the creak of old bark under the weight of heavy branches and canopies. One such branch reached toward him, and wrapped its sinewy self around Kellen's legs. He fell, hitting the ground hard and scratching all of his exposed skin. He lashed out with the sword, hacking and slashing at the hedging that seemed intent on trapping him. Once he was free enough to move, he stood properly and ran again. There was a door at the end of this passageway, completely out of place but a welcome sight nonetheless... He barreled through it and found himself on the bridge of the Mac, looking straight at a couple of his superiors. "This is just too weird," he breathed, out of breath from his battle with his arch nemesis, and then the subsequent escape. "It's not right." He looked unblinking at them, and then Chief Ozu's small child, and shook his head. "Does not compute," he deduced. "Wake up wake up wake up!"Kellen Gates blinked out of existence. *** He awoke in his room, alone, and covered in sweat and scrapes.
