[Deck 5 - Elijah's Quarters] Elijah didn’t notice the walls at first, memories he wished to never experience again threatening to take hold. His childhood room was a cage, yes, but it was also the safest place for him. He stood, fists clenching the blue t-shirt hanging off his torso, and walked to the door. That’s when he realised. The room was already small, too small, and watching the walls shift towards him broke a damn in his self-control. He was beginning to panic, something he hadn’t done in years. Emotions were chaotic, they needed to be kept in check; he needed to keep them in check. He banged on the door but refused to let himself call out. He wouldn’t beg, never again would he beg.
Turning his back to the door, he closed his eyes and counted back from ten. His heart was beating fast, his chest aching. He wouldn’t beg. This is just a dream. He wouldn’t beg. Eyes open again, he was horrified that the falls continued to close in. Not a dream then, a nightmare. He turned back to the door and did something his mind told him was pointless, but he was disgusted to realise he was definitely panicking; he turned the doorknob. And it opened. Without a glance back, he escaped out into the corridor. Leaning against the banister railing at the top of the stairs, he caught his breath, grip so tight his knuckles were white. Nightmares aren’t real. Wake up. Wake up.
A loud clang from downstairs caught his attention and without even considering going downstairs, Elijah found himself at the bottom. He stepped forwards, peering around the corner into the kitchen. He shouldn’t be here. He wasn’t allowed out except for meal times and chores. He’d be disciplined. But his Mother was at the stove, wearing a knee-length yellow dress; pearls in her hair. Every few seconds, she slammed the pan against the stovetop. Elijah continued to walk towards her.
“Mom, are you alright?” The StrangerI've ruined dinner. The metallic clank of the pan hitting the stove sounded again, echoing through the kitchen. Then, the woman in the bright dress turned slowly toward the dreamer. Don't tell your father. The pan, once empty, was suddenly filled with rotting meat. The woman twisted at an odd angle, and brandished the decaying meal toward her son. Writhing maggots began to fall from the pan with the jerky movements. Then her face began to fall in on itself, crumbling, skin discolouring until it looked exactly like her dinner. [Deck 5 - Elijah's Quarters]
Elijah watched in silence, feeling as though he physically couldn’t speak. It wasn’t until his throat burned that he realised he was screaming as he watched his Mother’s face crumble and rot. He backed away and hissed as he caught the edge of the table, tears burned in his eyes but he didn’t have to contemplate how many years it had been since he’d cried. He gagged as though he was about to vomit but there was nothing on his stomach, nothing inside of him; he was hollow. He turned at the sound of his Father’s voice, and within seconds he was transported to another room; leaving the carnage of his Mother behind.
Edward Azaria was a tall, wide man with an attractive face but soulless eyes. He always wore suits, even on Sundays, but Elijah had always known when his Father was angry. He would enter his bedroom, sleeves rolled up; tie missing - with this look on his face. The same look he now wore as he stood in the centre of the living room, blood splatter on his shirt, dripping from his knuckles. Elijah’s blood, he knew. He remembered that time when he was eight and he’d gone out into the street to play without his parent’s permission.
“I knew it was you making that racket,” he said, loosening his tie.
“ It wasn’t,” Elijah found himself saying, pleading to be believed. He could feel the bruises highlighted on his body as if it were just yesterday he’d received them. “ It wasn’t me.” Please don’t hurt me. Please don’t hurt me. His mind was spiralling. He couldn’t work up enough stability to remind himself he was just dreaming. He wasn’t like this anymore. The Elijah he was now was strong, physically, emotionally. He could easily throw hands with his Father and win, he knew that, but in his timid frame, his timid mind had shrunk every self-defence maneuver he’d learned. “ I’ll be good,” he promised. Please don’t hurt me.

The Teenager tried to get up again as his body was still bloody and could barely move. “Are you crazy old man?” . The Teenager responded in anger. As he continued coughing the last of his water. He then drenched with his clothes he looked at the woman and then the guy and said “How is cheese going to make things better? . He yelled in more anger. It did not take much time for the Tennger to try and walk. As he tried to get up and move with his own strength. He realized he was still weak. He took two steps and quickly felt into the ground again. The kid grabbed sand on his hand and he tried to be stoic and he began crying. “No…it’s not ok. Pirates attacked the ship and kidnapped Mom. And they kidnapped her because…I hesitated on taking a shot and then I am on the water on this beach with you people. I don’t know what’s going on!” . As the Teenager finish his anger turned into anguish as he just sat there crying with his blood and bruises showing. [Felicity Ellis - The Dream]Felicity rolled her eyes at the youngster's melodramatic comment that she should have left him to die. She wheezed in a few more breaths, her chest tight and painful, and then moved her head to look at him. He was Thomas Jett. Younger, looking like a drowned rat, but unmistakably him. "Tom?" She asked, disbelief in her voice. Why was he suddenly a teenager? Why were they on a beach? Who invited Sir Doug and his cheese? She groaned as she moved, rolling back onto her stomach, and then grabbing fistfuls of wet sand as she tried to push herself up. "What the bloody hell is going on here?" She'd made it to her knees and she pushed her soaked hair off her forehead, her eyes as stormy as the sky above as she stared at the two of them. "Tom, there are no pirates, nobody has been kidnapped," she told him, trying to get a handle on the horrible feeling of disquiet inside of her. "Now, can someone tell me what has happened, and what the hell that is?" She pointed up toward the dusky sky, where the giant eyes blinked. That was when a hand reached out toward Sir Doug, and was followed by a pantsless helmsman.

[Sir Dugris "Doug" Zaman, MBE, PhD, JD, MBA, PE, RA - Nightmare]Finally, at hearing the voices, Doug pieced together who these drenched people were. Captain Ellis, and young Thomas Jett. This was... weird. This couldn't be reality, could it? It had to be a dream. "Goodness, this ruins that ship," he blurted out, and immediately regretted it. "Uhhh, I have no idea what's going on. I did make a Fondue Fountain blow up."At the sight of the hand, and the fellow with no pants, Doug began to walk away quickly. "I think we're being toyed with," he said aloud. Then, he looked at the entity in the sky. "If you want a circus, Sir Doug will give you a circus."Suddenly pausing his walk, Doug began to rub his flint and steel together again. "I can juggle too, just by the way. And I do impressions."

[ MCPO Ozu Saya - Shared Nightmare] Daddy! Where's daddy! Evekh demanded through his wails. Saya couldn't answer. She closed her eyes and pressed her face against the toddler's sweaty red curls that looked so much like his father's. She tried to focus on what Quinn was saying. At first, all she could understand was that he wanted to take her son from her. For a moment, she gripped him tighter, unwilling to consider letting anyone else take him. She wouldn't be able to bear it if something happened to him. Slowly, she realized that she couldn't continue to carry Evekh with her injured ankle. With a shuddering breath, Saya relinquished her hold on her child to the young officer and got to her good foot, resting a hand on Quinn's arm to steady herself. Do, do you know what is going on? I was on my father's ship, she tried to explain as they made their way across the bridge. Her brow furrowed as she realized how illogical that was. Her father's ship was in a storage hangar on Earth. She'd taken Kyo to see it one time, but Evekh had never been there. None of this made sense, now that she was calming herself. [Petty Officer Kellen Gates - Asleep]His arch nemesis, Fritz Frederick, AKA Professor Inclement, was holding a futuristic looking phaser pistol against his Love Interest's pretty neck. "Unhand her, foul pedagogue!" Gatesy sliced the air with his huge broadsword. He wasn't sure why he had a sword while his enemy had a gun, or why he was dressed in a very revealing gladiator costume, but sometimes these stories made no sense. "NEVAAAHHHH!" Professor Inclement cried, and then shot the busty blonde at point-blank range. Kellen watched, agog, as the laser split Miss Pennyless in two. His sword drooped and the nefarious Fritz Frederick threw his head back and cackled with glee. "YOUR TURN, Mr. Gates!"Suddenly terrified, Kellen Gates began to stumble backward, but his pitiful appearance did nothing to earn any sympathy from the villain. "Mine is an evil laugh!" He cackled again, and opened fire. That was what spurred the dreaming medic into action. He took off at a run, headed straight for the hedge maze. His arms pumped, sword still in grasp as greenery closed around him. The sound of Professor Inclement and his strange, murderous weapon was fading away, but it was quickly replaced by the nighttime, woodland noises surrounding him and the creak of old bark under the weight of heavy branches and canopies. One such branch reached toward him, and wrapped its sinewy self around Kellen's legs. He fell, hitting the ground hard and scratching all of his exposed skin. He lashed out with the sword, hacking and slashing at the hedging that seemed intent on trapping him. Once he was free enough to move, he stood properly and ran again. There was a door at the end of this passageway, completely out of place but a welcome sight nonetheless... He barreled through it and found himself on the bridge of the Mac, looking straight at a couple of his superiors. "This is just too weird," he breathed, out of breath from his battle with his arch nemesis, and then the subsequent escape. "It's not right." He looked unblinking at them, and then Chief Ozu's small child, and shook his head. "Does not compute," he deduced. "Wake up wake up wake up!"Kellen Gates blinked out of existence. *** He awoke in his room, alone, and covered in sweat and scrapes. [Lt. (j.g.) Isaiah Quinn - Realm of Nightmares] The screams of the child rang loudly on the bridge, even as he called for his father. His father? Isaiah couldn't help but remember that his father should still be on the station. In fact, that was where Evekh should have been. He didn't recall Chief Ozu bringing the boy with her. Yet, if that were true, how was it that he was there now? To be honest, it defied logic. That seemed to suggest that the boy had somehow been brought aboard the Mac, or the boy wasn't there to begin with. The decibel levels that currently filled the Bridge would argue otherwise. Chief Ozu, finally agreed to let Quinn take hold of the child. It didn't do much to ease his fearful scream, but at least they could get moving. Once he had the child in hand, and was able to help Saya along, he listened to her words, which made no sense. She asked what was going on, mentioning her father's ship. He couldn't recall running into any such vessels. He was about to say more, when another unexpected sight revealed itself. Quinn stared at the man that had appeared on the Bridge. In fact, it appeared to be Petty Officer Gates, and he certainly wasn't in uniform. He seemed to look like some sort of gladiator if you wanted to call him that. But he seemed to be rambling as well. Going on and on about things being weird and not being right. Isaiah was just about to have him join them in the observation lounge so that he could see after Saya's leg when he disappeared repeating wake up over and over. And just like that... he had vanished. There was no transporter whine. No rumored bright flash to suggest that a Q was lurking about. He was just... gone. Was this the rapture? His eyes glanced once more at the pile of remains that had been Thea. He quickly dismissed that notion. Quinn began to lead the way into the observation lounge. He tried to help Saya into a chair before handing the child back off to her. He double checked the door, to make certain they were locked, and then moved back to Saya. "All right, let's look at that ankle," Opening the medkit, he removed the tricorder and started to scan. All the while, his mind was running over everything. None of this made sense. Absolutely none of it. His eyes then looked at the readings on the tricorder. He moved the scanner upwards from her leg, then over Evekh, and finally scanning himself. "What?"His brow furrowed as he shook his head. "This doesn't make any sense," he said aloud, though not necessarily to Saya. "It's all gibberish." He held the tricorder so that Saya could see it. His eyes then turned towards the windows, thinking he could estimate their position by identifying a few constellations. However, he wasn't prepared for the sight before him. His head slowly turned to watch a large clown fish swim past the windows. "What the hell is going on here?"His eyes looked turned back to Saya. "Stand up," he said simply. A theory was beginning to form in his mind, but it defied logic. "When did you bring your son aboard? I thought you left him on the station with your husband." He swallowed as his eyes moved from Saya to Evekh, and then back to the boy's mother. "Saya, does it even make sense for him to be here now?"

[Joint Nightmare] There was the tiniest amount of doubt that maybe she had been imagining her potential saviour from the flames and her Zombie mother, due to sheer determination and desperation. However as Shavan seemed to recognise her, the doubt diminished as quickly as it had taken hold of her, especially when he then answered her. From what he had told her, she hadn't been the only one who had wanted to escape, even if he had hesitated a little and she understood his reasoning for being that way, thanks to what she had just experienced and witnessed. " Well I'm glad that you did as it allowed me to escape from whatever was in there" Thea replied gratefully, taking one last look at the door she had come through, before she noticed Shavan do something similar and saw the darkness behind them. When the ship then rocked and he suggested that they shouldn't stay here, she was in full agreement as she didn't plan on waiting around either. " Good idea as I've no idea what exactly is going on but I agree, we need to keep moving and find a way out".[The Nightmare] Even though Shavan didn’t know the doctor well, he supposed it was good to have found someone else. He nodded in acknowledgement of her thanks and agreement. Looking around for a different path, for the first time he noticed a narrower passageway leading off to the side of them. Shavan glanced at Dr. Baker; there was no going back the way either of them had came, and this appeared to be the only way forward. Though there was no telling what they’d find. “This way, then.” he said, already stepping through the doorway. “Do you know exactly where we are?” Shavan had a feeling that, even if they knew the answer, it might not matter- the normal rules of space didn’t seem to be applying. Still, it was likely the doctor knew the ship better than he did. Tag Thea Baker

Still, it was likely the doctor knew the ship better than he did. Tag Thea Baker [Joint Nightmare] Having escaped from what she could only describe as a living hell and finding a familiar face in Shavan, had Thea feeling thankful that he had called out when he did and now that they were on the move, she was eager to put it all behind her. So when he spoke then stepped through the next open doorway, Thea quickly followed him without looking back. Even doing something so simple as getting through door, instantly calmed her nerves, at least until they encountered whatever this nightmare had in store for them next as she doubted that this was the end of it. So why wasn't trying to wake up?, maybe it was because she wanted to get to Isaiah still or find some answers as to why this was all happening. Whatever it was, she had to not think too much and just concentrate on her and the Andorian science officer. " Good question, I think we're somewhere on Deck 8" Thea replied when Shavan asked if she knew where they were. It looked like Deck 8 but then again it could be anywhere on the ship as nothing about all of this made complete sense. " Although I could be wrong, because I remember falling asleep and dreaming about the park back on Front Ear, but then found myself in the Computer Core facing something that was my Mother and the flames .... then I found you so I have no idea if this is still a dream or if something is messing with us".Now that she had said out loud was it really that weird to say so or believe it, then again wouldn't blame Shavan if he thought she was absolutely crazy.

But the moment passed as quickly as it came and any memory of it was erased. The dream continued dreaming. She opened her gown again and watched in horror as her ban opened, watched in shocked confusion as fingers appeared in the opening, then a hand, then an arm. Kaya fell back against wall unable to move. A person, an entire person, impossibly true-to-size, crawled out of her abdomen. A head, shoulders, torso, hips, legs. [Shoreline-Dream] The teenager continued to cough as he still felt beat up and exhausted. His mind was racing with what just happened. He felt in his heart but sadness and anger. His eyes felt burning and his finger tingled. He tried to block off what happened and focus on the moment as his mom taught him. As he heard the female and the woman ask his name Tom. Tom looked at her and said “Yeah, my name is Thomas Jett. Who are you and how do you know my name?” . The Teenager asked. There was something familiar about the woman but he had no idea who he has and the old man. He then turned to the older gentleman and said “And who are you Mr. Cheese aficionado?” At that moment he observed a person arrive and he did not have any pants. “And that’s something I did not want to see today” . Tom commented as he observed the eyes in the sky. He stood up and brushed aside his bloody lip. He observed the sky and then wondered. “Y’know on the ship, I felt that someone was watching me and everything feels weird”. He then observed as Doug wanted to make a circus. The wiped his tears and realized that maybe the eyes was related to the traders. “Those eyes could be related to my mom’s disappearance. I’ve heard things from Starfleet Officers that they are strange creatures maybe the people that attacked their ship would be related. I don’t understand how we are on this shoreline. How did you get here?” Tom asked the woman. “I don’t know why but you guys look and seem familiar to me” . The confused Teenager said. Tag Felicity Ellis Alex Graham Dugris Zaman

The StrangerThey would run from their pasts, but revisit it regularly. So many contradictions, so much self-recrimination. The strange presence followed the dreamer, transported at their whim. It watched, it learned, it judged. It was the blood spatter, the father who did not listen to the son's pleas for mercy, the door that creaked open behind the bruised boy. That door groaned, as though the weight it carried was almost too great to move. But beyond it revealed a passageway. It was dark, it looked unwelcoming; with its trolleys that were stacked with barbaric medical instruments. Lights flickered inside, and there was a woman speaking to her mirror-image. A door opened at the end of the long corridor and revealed a scene of a different kind of horror. The vision was hazy at first, and then cleared to show the suited man intent on his bloody son. All fear came from within. Fear was not real, fear was a choice. It would wait for these dreamers to choose.

Tag: Ozu Saya , Felicity Ellis (The Stranger) [ MCPO Ozu Saya - Shared Nightmare] Saya was too focused on her own pain to notice the appearance and disappearance of Kellen Gates. It wouldn't have helped her addled brain to decipher what was going on. She limped into the observation lounge, using Isaiah's arm for support and sat with his assistance, accepting the wailing toddler back into her arms. Saya started making quiet shushing noises and rocking slightly side to side to calm Evekh while Isaiah checked the door and got a tricorder. Evekh had calmed to quiet hiccups and stuck his thumb in his mouth, something he hadn't done since he'd been quite a bit younger. For once, Saya let it go, unable to bring herself to correct him after what had happened. She looked at the tricorder in confusion when the other officer turned it for her to see, her brow furrowing as she caught sight of the movement outside the window. Finally, the strangeness of it all started to penetrate. Maybe, maybe, Kyo wasn't dead after all. Hope grew in Saya's heart and she stood when Isaiah told her to. After a momentary twinge, her ankle held her weight with no difficulty. She lifted her foot and rolled the ankle in a circle. No pain. Lifting her eyes to the science officer as he continued speaking, Saya stared at him as he suggested that her son shouldn't be there. But...wait. He was right. She turned her gaze down to her son, his head resting on her chest, eyes upturned to gaze at her face. I...well, yes. He and his father should be back on the station, but we were just on my father's ship before the ladder led us here. She gasped as Evekh suddenly vanished from her hold. A small sob of shock, then her hands were fisted at her sides as Saya fought for control. You are correct. Something is very wrong. Why is there no one else aboard? Obviously, Evekh and Kyo- She had fallen back into her old standby of protecting herself by donning a fully-Vulcan mask, but her voice broke slightly as she mentioned her mate's name. Kyo could not be here. I spoke to them just before, before going to bed. She couldn't quite make the pieces connect. The external calm she projected covered emotions that were bouncing between horror and elation as she tried to work through everything.

Having escaped from what she could only describe as a living hell and finding a familiar face in Shavan, had Thea feeling thankful that he had called out when he did and now that they were on the move, she was eager to put it all behind her. [Nightmare] Shavan glanced back at Dr. Baker as she followed him down the hallway, saying that they were somewhere on Deck 8. That was a start; as they walked he tried to imagine the layout of the ship. Then the doctor started talking about going to sleep, and remembering being in different places. Which wasn’t right, now that he had time to think about it. “The same thing happened to me.” he admitted after a pause. “I mean, I was just… home.” Thousands of light years away. “Then I thought I was on Front Ear until I saw the smoke.” That didn’t make sense. It couldn’t have happened. Shavan did think that he was really on the Mac, but he had no memory of going to Deck 8. He had no memory of waking up. Yet what stuck with him the most was something else Thea had said. If this is still a dream or if something is messing with us. “What else do you think it could be?” Nothing was messing with them, other than his own subconscious. Nothing else was there. Thea herself wasn’t really there. It was.. illogical. Yet now that he had had the thought, it stayed in his mind. Shavan thought of the feeling he’d had of being watched, and chased by a darkness that he never saw the source of. He looked back and thought he saw eyes in the shadows around them. Then again why would she dream about Shavan as that was the only thing that she hadn't understood whilst other parts of the nightmare she had, because it wasn't the first time she had encountered a disapproving mother or the fear that had crept in with being reminded of her time has a hostage. Although why hadn't she woke up like she usually did when one of those nightmares had taken hold ... which only brought Thea back to her original thought that something was toying with them, making them play this out. Of course it was all just assumption at the moment, until Shavan admitted that the same thing had happened to him but for the science officer he had dreamed of home then thought he had been on Front Ear, before he saw the flames. Surely that was proof because it was too much of a coincidence otherwise. " It's good to know that I'm not going crazy if I'm not the only one who has had their dreams messed up" Thea admitted before Shavan then asked what else she thought it might be. Thea thought about it for a moment and found herself going back to her earlier thoughts that something or someone was behind it. " I can only think that something or someone is behind it, why else would our dreams or nightmares join us together .... it's just strange and I have no idea if I'm right or not but for now it feels though I have to keep going to find out".

After a moment, he tore his gaze away and back to Thea as she kept talking. It was not unusual for dreams to be nonsensical. And he did sometimes have nightmares, for all that he acted like nothing in the world bothered him when he was awake. In fact, they could be a lot worse than this one, which was why he hadn’t yet tried to wake up. And yet… maybe it was just giving in to the nightmare, but he didn’t entirely dismiss what Thea was saying. This dream didn’t make sense, but somehow it felt more real than most. For two people who weren’t telepathic to share a dream.. for something else to be influencing it… what could do that? Shavan agreed with Thea that they needed to find answers, or at least let the narrative play out. There was still nothing to see, nothing to fight, but if there was any truth to their suspicions then he would need to do his job as a scientist to figure out what was going on. And now that they were away from the fire, and it seemed less likely that the whole ship was about to blow, they needed a plan other than just get away. “I don’t know what could do that.. but if we can just get to a computer, we can use the sensors to search for other life signs. Or anomalies.” She had mentioned being in the computer core; maybe they could find it again. It might not work, or the dream could stop them, but they might as well start to try something while they could. Of course if the doctor had any other ideas he would hear them out. Tag Thea Baker

Tag Thea Baker [Nightmare] Whether this was going to be a good idea or not, Thea didn't know but it was better than just giving up and admitting defeat. Yes she could simply wake up and brush it off as a very bizarre or very realistic nightmare, but where was the fun in that and be left with questions. Not that she didn't have plenty of them currently jockeying for the title of importance and for them both to potentially figure out. Such things as who was doing this, why were they so interested in her and Shavan and why target their dreams instead of when they were awake. Of course that only led to more questions was it just them or had others experienced the same thing .... then came one she hadn't considered what if they couldn't wake up or weren't supposed too. The fear began to creep up on her again and her blood felt chilled until she convinced herself that there was nothing to worry about as long as she stuck with the science officer, especially when she was saved from further terrifying thoughts by what he suggested next. That seemed like the next logical step for them to take and it was definitely worth a try, especially if it silenced some of the thoughts she had. " I don't either at least not until we get some answers but if we need to get to a computer, let's get to Deck 7 and Sickbay as I don't particularly want to go back to the computer core, assuming we can find it again ... so let's keep moving forward and hope whatever this is hasn't affected the whole crew".Spotting a turbolift up ahead, Thea moved towards it, still resisting the urge to look back

And I do impressions." [Shoreline-Dream] The teenager continued to cough as he still felt beat up and exhausted. [Felicity Ellis - The Dream]It was certainly like a circus, though the silence in response to Sir Doug's threat was deafening. She turned her gaze away from the piercing stare in the sky and suppressed another shiver, before answering the young Thomas Jett's questions. How odd that he'd be present as a young teenager, with no idea of who or where he really was at that moment. Or was it Felicity herself who had been elbowed out of time? No, surely not. That didn't explain the beach or the rough seas or the ghost of her brother speaking in riddles at her. This felt like something else entirely. She took a deep breath and reminded herself that she'd need patience in order to figure this out. "I'm Flick," she told Jett, not bothering to use rank or her full name, considering the circumstances. "And you're right, this place feels very weird. Someone was watching, my dead brother was talking to me, and then my kayak just destroyed itself." She looked around the murky, sometimes fuzzy dream-like landscape, and then moved to her feet. She was still somewhat out of breath, but could feel some strength returning to her muscles. When he admitted that she and Sir Doug seemed familiar, Felicity looked back at Jett and nodded, her expression softening. "We all know each other. We were just on the Mac together. That you don't remember I think has something to do with all this," she gestured around her, then glanced quickly up toward the sky, only to find the eyes had disappeared. "Identify yourself, if you don't mind!" She entreated whatever power had placed them all there, together. *** The StrangerIt declined to respond. Instead, all over the beach, rectangular-shaped holographic screens began to wink to life. Each one showed a scene of their fellow crewmates, colleagues and friends, all wandering around various rooms and decks on a Sovereign-class ship, all in various states of disarray or injury. In the middle of the crashing waves, appeared a door. The Stranger waited for them to step through it.

[Petty Officer Kellen Gates - Shared Quarters, USS Mac]It had been just a dream, after all. A strange, disturbing dream. He sucked in a few deep, soothing breaths and closed his eyes again for a moment, taking some time to reassure himself that he was awake, alive, and... not in a gladiator costume. Hurriedly, he pushed back his blankets and squinted down in the dim light at his very worn AC/DC t-shirt. Right. Not a gladiator. Yet the movement had made him wince, a sharp pain shooting from his arm and shoulder where those malicious branches had tried to grab him. "Computer, lights." He blinked a couple of times in the sudden brightness, but quickly turned his attention to the wounds. He was covered in scrapes of different sizes and depths, some even bleeding, leaving stains on his shirt and bedclothes. With a renewed feeling of worry, he rose carefully from his bunk and reached for his personal medkit; the one he always kept right beside his bed in case of emergencies. He plucked the dermal regenerator from within and he began the first application on the abrasions. It was then that he noticed the absence of his klingon roommate, Crewman Mehl. The Sec/Tac officer was a heavy sleeper, and a loud snorer, which made her lack of presence quite noticeable once Kellen had left the fuzzy dregs of his dream behind. She mightn't have the best routine, but she always made it to bed. Kellen freshened up quickly, changed, and set off in search of her. [Mess Hall, Deck 2]The passageways and the turbolift had been completely empty. The chrono declared the hour to be approaching 0500, which meant that the early risers and those just coming off the later shifts should be wandering about, chatting, grabbing something quick to eat, or headed for some rack time. That was not the case that morning, and Kellen's feeling of unease was growing with each silent second. The scene that greeted him in the Mess Hall stayed his entire body. His mouth gaped open in shock. Dozens of officers were unconscious. Some slumped forward in their seats, faces in their food or pressed against the table surface. Others had fallen off their chairs and lay on their sides on the ground, there was even one or two piled limply on top of each other. Spying his klingon bunkmate seemed to shake him from his stupor. He moved toward Mehl and lay a gentle hand on her shoulder. He said her name, but she did not respond. He increased the pressure on her shoulder and the volume of his voice until he was physically shaking the woman and roaring her full rank. There was no response. He tugged his medical tricorder from his belt and began to scan. A cold sweat broke out across his brow. The data he was getting made no sense... no unconscious humanoid should have delta wave readings like these... =/\= "Gates to Commander Baker." =/\= =/\= "Gates to Dr. Azaria." =/\= =/\= "Petty Officer Kellen Gates to Captain Felicity Ellis! Come in! Someone!" =/\=
