[Cmdr. Judith Eastman(-Williams) - First Officer's Office, One Month after the event of Slumber and One Man's Terrorist]"First Officer’s log."
"Life on the station has been slowly settling into something resembling normalcy over the last month. The valiant actions of several members of the fleet, and the relatively quick resolution, have helped soften the blow of the Kurjarian incident[fn]One Man's Terrorist, Another Man's Freedom Fighter[/fn] on our crew, but I must admit that there was, and remains, a tangible impact. Our relations with the Nyberrites, while they remain uneasy, could be much worse than they are. Their Intelligence Officer, Major Chromar, does not get along with our Mr. Harmon in the least, but I really can’t blame him. Matt Harmon is a bit of an asshole."
"Computer, delete the sentence beginning with ‘Matt’."
"In any case, following the sudden, and to us lamentable, transfer of Captain Ellis, our duty station is to be supervised, at least for the moment, by Commodore Calvin Perry. I worry that this supervision from above will cause more unease than that already inherent in a change of command. Regardless of the outcome, I know I will miss Captain Ellis."
"More concretely, there have been a few anomalies in our area. The Maelstrom that the Mac encountered two months ago[fn]Maelstrom[/fn] has not been sighted since, and neither has the Psionic being that the Mac encountered last month[fn]Slumber[/fn]. However, a freighter, the Jupiter Star [fn]Tainted Heart[/fn], has gone missing near the same area where the Orunmila did, and the Mac has been dispatched to investigate that, with Commodore Perry in tow. Also in our general area, the Lewis reported some mild power fluctuations, but that ship’s engineer suspects it was purely a result of deferred maintenance, and the issue has been resolved."
"As for the station itself, we continue to strive for normalcy."
"End log."

[Leanna - Private Quarters]
" Mama, can I be a fairy princess for the party?" asked a rather excitable Ari as Leanna attempted to change Aven who had recently discovered that he could roll onto his side, which sometimes proved problematic if he was in the middle of a diaper change. Luckily there wasn't the usual spray in her direction as the Betazoid answered her daughter. " Yes, you can Ari, we need to get going soon so go and fetch your wings and the rest of your costume".
Before she could get a response, Ari was off running towards her bedroom, which had Lea almost laughing, but at the same time, it was good to see Ari so happy at the prospect of her birthday picnic in the park. Given everything that had happened lately, beginning with Fells leaving and Flick being reassigned, Lea knew that making more of a fuss than normal for Ari's third birthday had been the right decision. In fact this would be a second celebration for her daughter, after having a private family gathering with Flick, before she had left for Sierra. Smiling as she thought back to that night, with lots of food, alcohol and more importantly having that time with her best friend. Yes she missed her a lot and it felt strange not to see her around the station but at least she was still able to have weekly chats via subspace which was definitely good for the soul.
The fairy princess outfit that Ari was so keen on wearing was just one of the presents that she had received from her Aunty Flick and as she came back out, clutching most of it, Lea was quick to help her, once Aven had been changed and dressed. With a 3 year old and a 4 month old, life was never boring or quiet and she definitely made the most of it, even if it was tough being a single mother of two. Still today was all about Ari and even Lea was looking forward to catching up with their guests and enjoying some time away from the bar. Leaving it to her trusty staff to set up the picnic area with balloons, pinata, food, as well as the cake courtesy of Brooke and all she needed to take was the party gift bags that she had completed the night before.
With both children ready and Lea dressed in an off the shoulder patterned dress, she placed Aven in his stroller and placed the gift bags underneath then headed for the door.

[Chief Ozu Saya and family - Personal Quarters]
Evekh! Come here so I can put your shorts on you, the three-year-old's red-headed father demanded. The equally red-headed child was giggling and chasing Alieth, their Vulcan three-horn pet, across the living room as the animal cavorted with a stolen sock in her beak. He had no care for his sans-pants state.
Saya exited the bedroom, smoothing a hand over her hair one last time to make sure the elaborate braids were well-anchored, and stopped to survey the chaos. She started to put her hands on her hips, but reached out and snagged her son as he darted by. Evekh squealed as his mother raised him high enough to catch his gaze, waiting calmly until her son stilled in her hands.
Evekh, if you want to go to Ari's party, you need to calm down and let your father finish dressing you.
Okie, Mama, the toddler said contritely.
Saya set him on the floor and turned him in Kyo's direction, giving him a small push to get him moving.
Thanks, Kyo mouthed.
Saya bobbed an amused eyebrow as she turned her attention to rescuing her husband's sock from Alieth.
Of the three of them, Saya was the only one ambivalent about their day's activity. It wasn't the first time they'd participated in activities in the park, but the idea of a birthday celebration for toddlers who weren't likely to remember it seemed illogical. Kyo had explained that it was as much for parents to get together as the children. And for the kids, it was just like a regular play-date, but with extras. They'd have fun, even if they didn't remember it in a few years. Saya had conceded the point, and even helped pick a gift for Ari.
While Kyo corralled their son, Saya got Alieth's harness and caught the three-horn to suit her up for the adventure, and soon the family was ready to head for the park.

[Cmdr. Judith Eastman(-Williams), Max Williams & Grandchildren - Park, Front Ear Station]Max had been hard at work, assisting his co-workers from the Blue Beta in preparations for the party. As a chef, he'd taken part in preparing the food, an exercise in appealing to the youthful palate of a toddler; his own grandchildren had been a valuable lesson in enabling that. Now, along came three of them, shepherded along by Judy. The Station's XO wheeled along a stroller, occupied by 19-month-old Benjamin. Michael carried in his hands two large pillows, which almost seemed to overpower the 6-year-old boy. 3-year-old Helen, the one closest in age to the birthday girl, clutched a gift-wrapped box and barreled towards her Grandpa at full toddler speed. "Grandpa!" she screeched. "Helen!" he acknowledged her with a grandparent's enthusiasm as he picked her up. "I chose the present myself," the toddler bragged. "Ari will love it.""I'm sure she will," Max agreed, carrying her to the picnic blankets. Michael was less able to run to his Grandpa, and instead had to keep his Grandma's walking pace, encumbered by the stroller. "Where is everyone?" he asked. "Probably on their way," Judy explained. "You know your Grandma likes being early.""Grandma always early," little Benny piped up from the stroller. "That's right," Judy affirmed. "Let's sit down and wait."

[Kova Sh'qaleq - Deck 15, Front Ear Station]
The Grazerite howled loudly in pain, though that was very little of a deterrent where Kova was concerned. She leaned forward, applying even more pressure on the shoulder of the man. "When I sold you that program, it was a security measure. Surveillance to warn you if merchants were trying to cross you," Kova said. She turned her body slightly, causing her to twist the Grazerite's tendon and elicit yet another howl of pain. "How do you think I felt when I learned what you were really using it for? Here's a hint." Another movement and another baneful cry escaped his lips.
"Now, I've already installed a virus on your computer. All the recordings you saved... are gone. Any you uploaded to a cloud or remote server... the wormed tracked those locations and destroyed them as well," Kova said. "Now, give me the backups... or another little worm is going to find your nest egg, and help a bunch of Bajoran orphans be able to retire by the time they reach the age of 25."
"What? You... you can't do that. You can't do any of this," the Grazerite complained. "You're Starfleet now!"
Kova lifted him slightly, and then drove his head back into the desk once more, her forearm pressing against the other side of his face. "Do you see a Fleet badge? No, you don't . Which means I'm worse. Someone with the backing of the Fleeters, but none of the conscience. Now, where... are... the... hard copies?"
"In the book! In the book!" he exclaimed pointing to the shelf.
Kova released him and moved over towards the book. Upon opening it, she saw the isolinear rods within. The pages of the book had been cut out. A convenient place holder for the filth he had accumulated. Kova moved back towards him, watching as he held his arm, feigning as if it was about to actually fall off his shoulder. Her foot rose to his chest as she leaned forward, her weight trapping him between her foot and the desk he was leaning against. "If I get so much of a hint, of any of these videos floating around... or someone else mentions you blackmailed them... I'm coming back. Understand?"
He gave a fervent nod. One that satisfied Kova that the message had been delivered. She moved towards the door and stepped outside. She looked at the book once more. Narcissus and Goldmund. She shook her head and continued on. A few civilians had peeked out their doors to see what had happened. In fact, a pair of security guards were strolling in her direction. "Sorry. We'll keep it down next time," she said, leaving them wondering how to pursue. She's sure Melihn would hear about it, and probably try to give her some heart to heart speech about reputation and responsibility. She sure as hell wasn't going to spill any actual facts about her Romulan suitor.
She eventually made it to her own quarters. "Computer. Send the following message to Xyla: It's done. Meet later. Spotted Alibi, 2100." A long sigh escaped Kova's lips. She didn't like the idea that someone had used her tech to collect a bunch of personal footage, but she also didn't like the idea of someone holding such a tape over someone's head. What and who people did in their own time was their business. And whomever Xyla was trying to keep a secret from, well... it was none of Kova's business.
Suddenly, an alarm chimed and Kova checked the chronometer. "Dammit!" she exclaimed as she realized she was later for work. Not wanting to leave the book unattended, she took it and her personal computer and left her quarters, on her way to the Security Office.

|Gym - deck 32, weight room | Lt. Sven Aune | Lt jnr grade Sorrin Mar'kin |Sven was trying to get back into the swing of things, but not a hardly a day went by that he didn't think about his choice to hold Xander back while in critical condition to free the children in that horrid hostage situation. He had a lot of pent up anger and resentment. His significant other was critically wounded, and he came close to Death's doorstep. Multiple time. The large man added another plate to the bar bringing it to 425 pounds with clank. He sat on the edge of the bench angry with the whole world. He laid back, positioned his hands on and unracked the bar. He brought it down in a slow controlled motion until the bar just about touched his chest, then he pushed it back up with the same controlled motion. His arms and chest shook as he worked the weight 4 more times before setting the bar back into the racked position. He sat up and leaned forward with his chest heaving. "That is most illogical." The vulcan said as he stepped away from spotting the large man. "You humans need to talk about their feelings that there is a counselor on board.""I don't want to do that. I'd soon get my palms read.""Belief that there is supernatural explanations into your psychological well-being found in the line pattern in the palm of your hand is equally illogical. However, I do believe that there is a woman on board that do try to hoax feeble-minded people into believing that.""No, Sorrin. I don't believe in that stuff either. I just don't want to talk about this.""Xander has recovered.""Yes, but he's scarred.""Both physically and psychologically. He should also talk to a counselor." Sven stood and started to unrack the weight. "Look, my shift starts. I'll see you in duty later.""Probably. Since you handle my scheduled." The bodybuilder headed into the locker room, stripped down and took a cold shower. Perhaps Sorrin was right. Maybe he needed to talk about this. It has been a month. He finished up and dressed in his gold uniform to start the day. First stop, the Promanade. Specifically the Blue Beta. He wanted to see how Xander was doing. He had been working there for a week. But he also wanted to check up on Lea and Shamus. _____ |Blue Beta Bar and Grill| Xander McGrath|
Xander had recovered from his disrupter blast to the heart, but it left him with spidery like scar on his chest with meandering tendrils about his chest. He hated it, but the dermal regenerators couldn't remove the scar. It was too deep and into the muscle tissue. He stood behind the bar washing glasses waiting for Lea. She was going to give him his day's assignment. Sven walked in and he smiled. The large man made a b-line right to him and without saying a word, gave him a kiss on his cheek. Xander smiled. Sven wasn't prone to PDA, but he found this act both embarrassing, and touching. He spoke, "How are you feeling?""The same as I was this morning before you left for the gym."
Sven nodded. "How's Lea doing?""I don't know. I haven't seen her today." "Mind if I stick around for a few minutes." "So long as you order something.""Black tea.""Coming right up."_____ | The Shining Quartz || Opal Peridot | Max Bennigan |
Opal, was for all intents and purposes, a Horta. And as such there were physical limitations to how she could interact with humans. But humans were very ingenious, and one such advancement were holograms. So she had her lapidary shop set up with holo-emitters and she took on the appearance of a sweet, motherly African-American woman. Her hologram walked over to a patron. A man in his middle age. "Do you have any questions?" she asked in her sweet, but deep voice. "Yes, I see that you have a collection of Pulsating Hemoterritors. I am looking for one in an azure." "Azure is quite a rare color for that stone." "So you are saying that you don't have one.""On hand, no. But I do know where to aquire one." "I was hoping you would say that. I've spoken to 15 other gem shop owners and none of them knew where I could acquire one.""I'm betting none of them were Horta" she beamed. He laughed. "No, they weren't. And many of them did say to go see you. But your shop is so remote. You would make better money if you were more centrally located."Opal smiled sweetly. "Kerelia is a very unique world, and it has very unique minerals. You see I just don't sell gems. I study them as well."The man smiled. "I've been so rude. The name is Max Bennigan." he held out a hand and opal took it with a firm grip. "Well Max, I can get in touch with a supplier. Though given the nature of the stones, his stock may be limited. Can you give me details on how big you want, and how much you are willing to spend?"He smiled, "Oh yes. I want it to be 1.5 carots. I'm going to fashion it into an engagement ring."Opal squeeled. "Oh, how lovely! She must be a very lucky girl.""I'm a very lucky man!"She patted his shoulder. "Of course. I just have you fill out this form."

[ Seamus - Blue Beta] With Max and several others finishing up getting the party ready for little Ari, Seamus had given Jack his and Rixxy's gift to deliver, whilst he dealt with the arrival of that's days fresh orders. It mainly involved checking them off against the order lists and then as usual he helped the kitchen staff, unload them and place them in the various chiller and storage areas. Not the most glamorous of jobs when it came to running the Blue Beta, but it was a vital one, especially with the arrival of some new items, that Lea had ordered through her Uncle Jeffy. The Irishman had trusted his friend and boss's judgement and so far, he was impressed by the quality of what had come in and looked forward to sampling them a little later. For now he left those in the kitchen to test and be creative with them and made his way into the main bar, smiling as he saw Sven and Xander, before going behind the counter. " Hey there, Sven" he said greeting the Security officer, before speaking to Xander. " Xander, you'll mainly be on bar duty today, but I will need you to help me a little later, with testing the new dishes .. which is definitely one of the perks of working here".*********************** [ Leanna & Ariana - Park, Deck 6] After an uneventful walk through the station and lift ride, which in itself was a small miracle given how excitable Ari could be. Lea and the children entered the park and with a promise to keep close, Lea had agreed that Ari could take her hand off the stroller. Besides the Betazoid knew that she was safe and it would also get rid of some of the energy that she had built up since leaving their quarters. So with Ari skipping in front of her and waving her wand, Lea couldn't help but smile, happy to see her daughter enjoying herself, as they made their way towards the area that had been set up for the party. Ari was the first to spot Judy, Max and their grandchildren, especially Helen and immediately ran towards them. " Helen!!".Lea almost chuckled at Ari's enthusiasm but instead it was the party set up that caught her attention as her team had definitely outdone themselves with the ideas she had given them. Quickly speaking to Jack and the others, as they prepared to leave, before she greeted Judy and Max. " Judy, Max, it's good to see you both and Max, great job on the party set up, you, Jack and the others, have made it perfect".Once she had secured the stroller, Lea then unloaded the party gift bags, setting them next to the dessert table, then returned to their guests and baby Aven.

[LTJG Shavan Th’zhaar - Science Lab, Deck 26] Shavan leaned back in his chair, feet up on the console, thinking about his date at the Spotty Alibi tonight… and hurriedly snapped to as the computer pinged, indicating the scan’s completion, and simultaneously Ensign Regg let out a loud snore behind him. As the (barely, and newly) superior officer maybe he ought to do something about that.. but a “hey” and a tossed raktajino cup bouncing off his back did nothing to shake the Bolian’s heavy slumber, so instead Shavan turned back to the computer. At least someone could sleep; Shavan himself had found it hard to come by since the incident on the Mac that had earned him his promotion, as evidenced by the four other empty raktajino cups piled next to his station that morning. Sitting up, Shavan continued filling out the report and running routine scans. It was a very unexceptional, quiet day on duty aboard the Front Ear. So far.
[NPC T’Laara - The Shining Quartz, Promenade] T’Laara was walking down the Promenade when an unusual shop caught her eye. Curious, she stopped in front of The Shining Quartz, taking in the displays of colorful gemstones and crystals, as well as the shop owner and her ingenious hologram. “Fascinating.” The young Vulcan stepped through the door, examining the displays while the Horta used her holographic form to talk to another customer. When the exchange was finished, T’Laara turned to the shop owner with interest. “Hello. An acquaintance has suggested that I should add more decorations to my quarters. A couple of these aesthetically pleasing crystals should be sufficient.” She picked up a large pinkish crystal and set it on the counter. Tag Sven Aune (Opal Peridot)

"I chose your gift," she bragged to Ari, holding the box, approximately My-Little-Targ-sized, in front of her. "It's awesome."Still seated, Judy and Max reacted in a leisurely manner to Lea, after smiling sagaciously at the toddler antics. "Cooking for kids is an acquired skill, but I think they'll love what we made," Max promised Lea, with a humble competence that only experience could create. "What that means is that he didn't put enough garlic in for my taste," Judy quipped. Max shook his head and wrapped his arm around her waist. They were then joined by the Domen-Ozu group.

Eh, must have been a figment of his imagination. " Judy, Max, it's good to see you both and Max, great job on the party set up, you, Jack and the others, have made it perfect".Once she had secured the stroller, Lea then unloaded the party gift bags, setting them next to the dessert table, then returned to their guests and baby Aven.
tag Sven Aune from Seamus, tag Judith Eastman from Lea | Blue Beta Bar and Grill || Xander McGrath |Xander shook his head as Sven left him with a parting kiss on the cheek. He shooed the large man out, "Get out of here you big oaf. Don't you have knuckles to drag or something." he said with a chuckle. Xander's first week was going well and he wanted to do a good job, but is arm still pained him. The disruptor shot had done some sever nerve damage and the doctor said that it may never go away. He tried not to think about it. "I've been studying that mixology book you gave me, and have been practicing with replicated liquors. I don't know if I'll ever get a Risan Sunrise right. What a tedious little drink." he scowled. "But I do enjoy it. What exactly am I going to be sampling? If it's those nasty tapeworm things those Klingons eat I'll just quit now." There was only so much a man's stomach can handle. He though back to one of the earlier dates Sven had taken him on once he arrived on Frontier. They had gone to that Klingon restaurant for his first ever sampling of Gagh. And it literally make him gagh. He had no idea how Sven could stomach that crap. Ah well. "I'm sorry." he back peddled, "I had a pretty traumatizing experience with....That stuff. I don't want to end up tossing cookies today. But I'm willing to help with anything."
Tag Sven Aune (Opal Peridot) | The Shining Quartz || Opal Peridot |Opal had set Max up with the required paperwork and the man was joyfully filling it out singing some sort of human earth ditty that she wasn't familiar with. She assumed it was some sort of love stuck song. Young Love. She thought back to her mate. He was a fine Horta, but like all of their species, they didn't stay committed to one another. But rather, they stayed committed to their community. He would help raise the brood, along with all the others. But that was so long ago. All her children were grown and off living their lives. She quivered and a little crystal around a node on her body shook. A Horta record keeping crystal that kept images and memories of those times. A Vulcan had entered into the establishment and was eyeing a pair of Pyrixxian Glass quartz. "Those are Pyrixxian Glass quartz." she said as her hologram walked over to him. The hologram picked up one, A clear tall hexagonal structure. "They all have an internal vibration. A molecular frequency that is unique to each crystal." She picked another. "Watch." she said as brought the two together. As they came closer they began to sing a pleasant tone and began to glow a dull, but very beautiful rose color. She set one down, and picked up another and brought that one close. They began to sing at a different pitch and they both began glowing a powder blue. "Their frequencies either amplify, of nullify each other which results in different frequencies withing the audible region and emit light within the visible spectrum. You can of course, add three, or four to change colors and tones. But the first two are sold in pairs. Any two for four slips of latinum. They are a lovely addition to any quarter." she said with a smile. _____ Tags Thea Baker Kova Sh'qaleq Shavan Th'zhaar

His screen flickered once and he caught it out of the corner of his eye. But it was glowing steady when he watched it intently. Eh, must have been a figment of his imagination. [ Kova Sh'qaleq - Security Office, Promenade, Front Ear Station] As soon as Kova entered the security office, her eyes fell upon the most obvious sight in the room, Lieutenant Aune. One thing that could be said for Sven, was that he was notoriously conspicuous. In some ways it was good. His presence typically seemed to deter unsavory behavior simply by sight alone. Of course, if you were trying to sneak into work late without being noticed... well, he was a tough obstacle to get past unnoticed. Taking a deep breath, she waved it the mere thought of imploring stealth. Instead, she simply moved through the office towards her station. "Morning," she said simply as she sat the items in tow down. "Computer, scan this mornings reports for locations. Cross reference with station surveillance at the indicated time indices and download witness statements and corresponding files." It was simply a nice way to have everything organized for those running those active investigations. While staring at the screen, there was something that came across the screen that caused Kova to roll her eyes. She glanced at the roster for holding, and then closed the window with a groan of annoyance. "I know that you all have a fondness for this thing called evidence, but how long are you going to let that Saurian operate a brothel before you shut him down?" Kova asked. The Suarian, Slillick, was new to the station, and he was thorough as well. In Kova's opinion, there was no way a Saurian should know anything about lingerie. Of course, everything they had thus far was circumstantial evidence. People would go into his shop and buy lingerie. Then, they would later venture to various rooms on the Civilian level for a few hours. It seemed like a simple hook up between random people since they would meet their partners for the evening at some bar or restaurant hours later before adjourning to those quarters hours later. It wasn't the easiest of things to infiltrate either, especially when he had that Betazoid working as a sales clerk.

[ Leanna & Ari - Park, Deck 6] Ariana was definitely in her element as Evekh joined her and Helen and for Leanna it was lovely to see her daughter interact with her friends, without worrying about anything other than playing and enjoying her party. When Xander then told him about his studies with the mixology book and how it was going. Seamus tried not to smile too much, especially at the comment made about the Risan Sunrise. "I'm glad that it's going well and yes it can be tedious, but the secret to a Risan Sunrise is that it doesn't matter if its right all of the time" Seamus replied, sharing a little trade secret, before Xander admitted that he did enjoy it. However when he then enquired about what they would be sampling and made a reference to gagh and how he would quit now if it was. Seamus was quick to reassure him as the other man back peddled and explained why. " Yeah, I'm not keen on Gagh either so I don't blame you, but I can assure you that its the fruit and vegetables that we've just had shipped in from a new supplier ... well Lea's Uncle".

tag Sven Aune from Seamus, tag Judith Eastman from Lea [ Chief Ozu Saya and family - Park] The Domen family finally made it out of their quarters and up the many decks to the indoor park that took up the station's sixth deck. It was a lovely space and had become a favorite locale for all of them for recreation, even more than the holodecks, despite the ability to create any environment they desired. The moment Evekh saw his friends, he ran forward on short toddler legs, yelling, Helen, Ari! Saya released his hand and watched him run as she carried their gift to the table that held several others. Kyo followed Evekh to the other adults with Alieth on her leash and harness, which was black with small white flowers on it. Hey, everyone. Hope it was okay to bring Alieth. It's hard to leave her behind when we're all going somewhere, Kyo said with an easy smile at everyone. Happy birthday, Ari! he added upon noticing the little girl dressed as a fairy. Saya joined them a moment later, wrapping her arm around Kyo's free one and clasping his hand. Lea, Judy, Max, she said with a nod at each person. [Cmdr. Judith Eastman(-Williams), Max Williams & Grandchildren - Park]It was with much excitement that Helen sighted Ari, and then ran towards her friend, gift still in hand. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" she screeched, as loudly and excitedly as her little toddler lungs could muster. Michael approached his auntie Saya first. "Auntie Saya, how's the warp core?" he asked, channeling the very limited engineering know-how he'd picked up from Saya and his granny.

She stood behind Ari with the same ridiculous seriousness, making sure (with death glares) that everyone else was seated before she herself sat down. "Peak efficiency is satisfactory," he commented in his own, less committed (he was, after all, a young boy) Vulcan impression, before he finally sat down himself. Benny, positioned in his stroller, was calm enough for the moment. "Tunnel is pregnant, if you care for a puppy," Judy replied to Lea's earlier comment. "Corgis are good family dogs, but they love sweets even more than these munchkins do."And just like that, at the word "sweets", Benny was no longer calm. "Cake! Cake! Cake! It had been quite a headache as parents, but as grandparents, they were on the same side as the prospective sugar-rush.
