***** |Science Lab, Deck 26 || Crewman Alice Duff| The computer ran its diagnostic and didn't find anything out of the ordinary. The normal set of sensor readings pinged back. Just then the door slid open and a mane of wild frizzy red hair bounded into the room. It catapulted across the room, landed squarely in a chair opposite the Andorian hybrid and Alice sat spinning in it, arm over one side resting her chin on it. "Hello egghead!" she said beaming a smile as bright as the sun. "I've seen you around, and well. I decided to stop stalking you and say hello. I mean, someone with antenna such as yours is bound to grab a girls attention right?" She said with a chuckle as the chair slowed. "So...." she let the pause hang in the air. "I'm Alice. What'cha workin' on? God I'm so board! Sentry duty is like that absolute worst!" [ T’Laara - The Shining Quartz] T’Laara didn’t know what she’d been expecting, but Opal Peridot’s name was fitting. She returned the handshake, which was actually not Vulcan custom, but having lived most of her life on Earth she was accustomed to the gesture. “Not that I am aware of, however my mother is also an ambassador.” While Opal went to follow up with the other customer T’Laara held up her two quartz crystals together, trying out producing the reaction herself. A moment later, the horta returned with tea that she saw no reason to refuse. “Black tea, thank you.” She moved to hold the crystals with one arm so that she could take a teacup, but before she could the lights flared. Without further warning the room was plunged into darkness, with the exception of the Pyrixxian glass quartz, which were still emitting a blue glow. T’Laara held one up to try to illuminate the room and its other occupants. Looking back out the shop windows she saw that the blackout had affected the entire Promenade. She raised an eyebrow. “I seem to have made a fortunate choice. Functional as well as pretty.”

He flashed her a grin. “Well you came at a perfect time, I was nearly bored to death.” Behind him, unnoticed, the computer screen flickered. “I’m Shavan. A hissing indicated a ruptured conduit somewhere. That was new. There was a pause where he listened hard for any sign that the station was under attack, but for the moment nothing else happened. “Maybe this is going to be an interesting day after all.” he said dryly, and stood up, with a vague notion of going to find a light source in the lab area. As he did so Shavan tapped his com badge, which still worked. =/\= Science lab to Engineering. [ Ensign Neme, Medical (bio) | Sickbay ]No reply came from Neme's combadge, not at first. What they did hear was rattling around in sickbay. With the recent unrest on the ship, Neme slipped across the room to post up just inside the door. It wasn't long before the light of Bremmer's flashlight was passing along the floor, casting long shadows. "I am not injured," came Neme's reply to Bremmer. "I am attempting to make contact with Engineering." And just then, Engineering came through. The voice on the other end was in a state of alarm. =/\= Engineering, Sickbay! We have station-wide power failures! Bloody everything is down! Just- just- stay put! =/\=The communication didn't exactly fill Neme with confidence that anything at all was under control. They looked to Bremmer in the dark, their features uplit dramatically from the flashlight. Neme cocked an eyebrow. "I hardly think that's the best use of resources. You and I in particular." [ Cwm Eliska Bremmer - Lab near Sickbay, Front Ear Station ]The voice that had greeted Eliska had been cool and measured, and connected to a face that the Security crewman could not identify positively as either male or female, and at the collar there was a single pip; so an Ensign, which set her mind towards the acceptable, catch-all 'Sir' mode of address. However, before she could speak, the blue-shirted Ensign's commbadge chirped, with a message from Engineering, telling them to stay put. Well, that wasn't exactly what Security personnel was supposed to do, and she was entirely prepared to leave the officer in the lab to try and rejoin any kind of node of organization, whether it be Ops, the main Security Office, the satellite office on the Promenade or Engineering. However, it would seem they had a different idea all right. "Sir, I'm not Engineering. In fact I'm not even sure where I should be trying to get to right now; sounds like this is really generalized, and really there's no drill for that."

[ Leanna & Ariana - Park, Deck 6] When Evekh responded to her and told her that he had picked games, pictures and stories, Ariana thought this was wonderful as she looked at her friend. " That's so awesome Evekh ... I like you being my friend" she replied, before smiling as his Mama and Daddy also said that she was welcome. Ariana then placed the PADD back into the box carefully, not wanting to damage it as she then hugged Evekh. Lea watched the exchange and smiled as Saya then explained more about the gift, which Lea appreciated and knew from Ari's reaction that she would not only love the device, but also get a lot of use out of it. " I appreciate that and so does Ari, I can see her enjoying it".The Betazoid was also grateful to Judy after she had helped to calm things down, before Max encouraged Helen to give Ari their gift. When she handed it over and told Ari to take good care of him, both mother and daughter were intrigued as to what it contained. That was until Ari opened it and became as equally as excited as she had been when she had opened Evekh's present. " So cool Helen and I promise to look after him" she said, hugging Helen, before taking care of Kevin who would be a great addition to her my little targ collection. " She loves My Little Targ" Lea commented before her attention shifted to what Alieth was up too, thinking it cute with how she was trying to get to the food. Although understood Judy's concern as Ari moved onto her other presents, each one getting the same reaction as the first couple, until she reached the last one. [ Chief Ozu Saya and family - Park] Saya's head turned sharply to see what her pet was up to, giving a small sigh of relief to see that she wasn't actually in danger of damaging anything, including herself. No, she said with a chuckle. I believe the table, and therefore the food, is safe. I'm grateful she's so small; it's more difficult for her to get into trouble. Most of the time at least. She closed her eyes as she remembered another incident. Judy, do you remember that couch she got her horns trapped under? And the other guests called in a noise complaint. I don't know if you've heard her before, Lea, but a rehkuh-stonn's cry of distress is...unforgettable. I've heard it described as sounding like a dying goose.Kyo snickered at the description. He might have been one to use it on occasion. Their attention was caught as Ari opened another gift. Evekh hadn't paid much attention to My Little Targ. He had a couple of the plush animals, but had only a passing interest in the franchise. {Spoiler} [Cmdr. Judith Eastman(-Williams), Max Williams, & Grandchildren - Park, Front Ear Station]Max smiled proudly at the successful present. "We remembered she likes it," he said. "That's the power of listening.""Yes, Grandpa," Helen agreed. For all her chaotic neutral tendencies, she happily took the wisdom her grandparents gave. On the topic of Alieth, Judy initially shook her head as she remembered that poor couch, but Michael had a different reaction. "She sounds like this," he announced, and then imitated the distressed Alieth noises. "She's funny. Sometimes she teams up with Bridge and Tunnel to cause trouble.""Oh, that she does," Judy confirmed. "And sometimes, someone or other that walks on two legs conspires with her to make their veggies disappear, but we're not going to name names."The particular grandchild that had the mind to slip veggies to Alieth instead of the dogs (that Judy knew of) was Michael, at a dinner party some time ago. His rationale at the time had been that she liked vegetables more, so she wasn't likely to leave evidence. The only problem was that Grandma saw him do it.

" That's something I'll have to look out for when we get a pet". " I won't do that Mama" Ari promised, looking so innocent, before she decided to copy Michael again which resulted in waking her brother. "Looks like Aven wanted to join in too ... but I think it's time for food ... but first I'll get Aven if you all want to go over and help yourselves".Once Aven was awake that was it and so Leanna went over and carefully got him out of the stroller and began to rock him gently until he settled and started to look around.

|Blue Beta Bar and Grill || Xander McGrath | Sherry X. |Xander watched as the plasma fire burned out of control. It was clear that the emergency power wasn't going to come back online. Nor the fire suppression systems. "Ya." he said to Seamus as he reached under the counter and pulled out a fire extinguisher rated for plasma and a hand torch. "You have a radiation kit I hope?" he asked. A plasma fire was bad enough, but what made them very dangerous was the amount of ionizing radiation they emitted. They would all have to be inoculated. He headed over to the fire and pulled the trigger. A few sweeps and the fire was out casting them all in darkness. He flipped the switch on the hand torch and a beam of light cut through the gloom. Sherry gasped as the lights exploded. "Oh my word! What kind of place do you run here?" she asked in an incredulous voice. "Make no mistake, station command will be hearing from me." She rummaged through her hand bag and pulled out a small personal mirror. She opened it and the little light turned on casting her face in a stark relief as she applied a dark cherry rose lip gloss in a completely unperturbed manner. Tags Thea Baker [ Seamus - Blue Beta] " I do, it's with the emergency medkit" Seamus replied as Xander responded to his plan of action, to at least deal with the immediate danger of the plasma fire. Even as the flames continued to be their only source of light, it was of no real comfort other than a stark reminder that something or someone had caused such devastation and whatever the reason for a complete black out that also affected the emergency systems, he needed to do what he could to help those within Lea's establishment. As he moved to help Xander, Seamus heard their awkward customer somewhere behind him, before Xander was able to put out the fire and give them some light with the hand torch. " Ma'am I'm sure command have other priorities right now and this has never happened before, so I need you to remain calm and make your way over to the seating area". The Irishman then activated his own hand torch and took out the anti radiation hypo's, handing one to Xander whilst he administered his own, counting how many were left as he shut the medkit, once Xander was done. Then he used the hand torch to look around the bar, spotting some of the staff and the ten customers who had been in the dining area. " If you can remain where you are, we'll provide lighting and keep your drinks topped up" He said reassuringly, then spoke with Jack and a couple of others. Finally he turned back to Xander and spoke to him. " We have more emergency torches and some solar table decorations that might come in handy, we'll try and get as many set up as we can, then we can still serve most of the drinks and the food that is already prepared ... hopefully we won't lose too much stock but the main thing is to keep everyone happy and together, until we know what's going on".

The power has suddenly gone out, and with it Opal's hologram ceased to exist leaving only her Horta self. Luckly she was in her utility harness. It's what allowed her to interface with the holomatrix installed in the store. "Oh, that's not good." she commented. She waited a for a bit and when the power didn't restore she spoke once again. "That's unusual. Power usually comes back on line. Even the backups." she moved over to T'Laara. "Glad we have those out" she said meaning the crystals. Though she didn't need light. As a Horta, she didn't have eyes. Her senses were.... something else. "Max, could you take the other pair for yourself." She moved to the door. It didn't open. But on the other side she could hear panicked voices. She lifted herself up onto the door and a moment later she bored through it. "Actually, Max, can you go into the store room and get the other 6 crystals and bring them out here. I think we can provide an oasis of light for scared people."Max nodded. "Sure." he said as he grabbed the other two stones. They began to glow a soft green. He headed into the storehouse. A moment later there was a scream from the promenade. *************************************** |Science Lab, Deck 26 || Alice Duff |Alice's chair spun slowly to a stop as she brushed away her frizzy red hair from her face. She gave Shavan a sideways look. He was a cutie. And unusual for an Andorian. They mostly had blue skin. Like, icy-blue. Like their personalities. But he had a tint of green. And he seemed to be fun loving. She put her hands on her hips as Shavan begun his introductions. A moment later she was showered with sparks. "Ack!" she said ducking out of the way. Unbeknownst to her one of the embers caught in her hair and began to use it as kindling. A little flicker of flame poofed into existence cutting the piercing darkness. Meanwhile engineering had gotten back to Shavan. "Please hold Science Lab. There's been a system-wide fault..." There was considerable background noise; People yelling, and talking and what sounded like an extinguisher being sued. Whoever responded closed the line. Tag Shavan Th'zhaar

Sherry huffed. "Honey," she started, "Of course they are busy. Just look around. I'd say they have quite a catastrophe on their hands. So much for maintenance. Well everything eventually breaks down." she finished applying the lip gloss and tossed it back into her clutch bag with a small snap it was closed. She sighed. "I guess I won't be getting that drink, no am I?" She swung her legs off the stool and stood. "Nothing to be had for it, but to make myself useful. Where are those solar decorations, I'll go get them." she offered. Xander on the other hand depressed the trigger on the extinguisher and swept the spray at the base of the plasma fire. It finally went out casting them all in darkness except for Sherry who still had her little cosmetic mirror with a light out. He wasn't afraid of the dark, per say. But he was closterphobic. And a pressing all encompasing darkness gave him the sense he was trapped. He felt his heart race, and a twing of pain coursed down his arm. "You handle the kids, I'll get the grandkids.""Aye, Commander," Max answered, infusing a little wit into the tense situation. Judy then strained her aging eyes as she reached into her handbag. She found a flashlight and handed it to Max, who held it over as she retrieved more of them - three in total. She also retrieved a bag of glowstick bracelets. "I have flashlights and glowsticks here," she declared. "Let's get glowsticks on each of the kids, and flashlights for the adults. Kiddos, over here!"Michael and Helen didn't need much prompting to come to the reassuringly calm voice of their Grandmother, who proceeded to adorn each child's arm - and Benny's stroller - with a glowing bracelet. She had a nice stockpile, left over from a Hanukkah celebration 8 months prior. "The fire extinguisher is by the turbolift entrance. First aid kit, too," she then informed the adults, operating from a good memory that she normally (and, according to most relatives and most empirical evidence, falsely) insisted she no longer had. Max, meanwhile, worried about the couple's teenage kids. Thomas, 19 years of age, was here on a brief visit (he had spent most of his summer vacation holding a summer internship on Earth), while Anna was a full-time resident of the station. =A= "Anna? You there?" =A= Max contacted his daughter (the more responsible child), over the civilian Comm. =A= "Where are you? Where's your brother? Are you okay?" =A= =A= "Everything will be fine. There are flashlights in the coat closet, a First-Aid kit and candles in the kitchen, and we have canned foods and jerky in the pantry," =A= Max informed. =A= "Check the house. If there aren't any fires, you should all stay there, and we'll get to you soon." =A= =A= "You too. We love you." =A= Max then returned to Judy. "I need to get to Ops," she said, her sense of duty taking hold. "No. You need to stay in one piece, and that means staying here," he asserted, always in the role of her minder. She sighed, knowing that he was right. She was too old to cover 4 decks by Jeffries tube, by foot, in the dark.

Sven -> Kova|Promenade, Security Office || lt. Sven Aune | Sorrin Mar'kin|Sven placed the PADD in his hand into a pile of ever growing ones as the Andorian accused him of insulting her. Again, she was very hard to read. So he decided to go for it. "Yes." he said with a quick smile. "Callan Dru, huh? He must have some sort of contact that could get him such an I.D." he sighed, "Of course he would lay over in a system that doesn't have an extradition treaty. That could be good for us but we'll have to act fast." he said. "Computer establish a secure link to Oba Morduk."Link established. His screen flickered to a customary answering machine. "Hey Oba, Sven Aune. I'd like to call in a favor. I've got a guy on Chanla. He's lost his way so to speak. He's expected to be there for the next two days, and I think he needs some help returning home. Name is Callan Dru."
He ended the call. "Worth a shot. You never know." he tapped the counter, "23 out of 26. How many people out there would have that kind of skill in making fake I.D's. I wouldn't think a lot." The world of electronic data was Kova's She'd know he answer to that. Or have a pretty good idea. As Sven was about to say something, a panel behind him exploded sending the heavy metal casing at high speed. It slammed into the back of his head sending his face forward into the desk where it met with high impact. The large man slid off the chair as a sparks flew everywhere from the exposed circuitry and micro eps filaments. All the lights in the room faded and died and the heavy security doors that led to the promenade clicked ominously as the magnetic seals lost power and the clamps engaged trapping Kova, Sorrin and Sven in the office. Thought the large window in the doors, brightly lit signs exploded as vast amounts of power pushed into them. People milling about panicked and began to run helter skelter just before everything went pitch black. [ Kova Sh'qaleq - Security Office, Promenade, Front Ear Station] The Andorian sat there listening as Sven put the pieces of the puzzle together. Realizing that McCallister had a contact that set him up with an ID, and also his plan to disappear on Chalna. "Treaty? They really don't know the meaning of that word," Kova stated, recalling the fact that many Chalnoth were nothing more than opportunistic cutthroats. They had no real government. Just a few poor souls that were stupid noble enough to attempt to maintain order on a slow day. She continued to listen as he called in a favor with some contact he knew on Chalna. Perhaps Sven's reach was longer than she had anticipated. He was just coming around to asking her about the forger when all hell broke loose. Instinct caused Kova to seek cover under her desk. She positioned herself beneath the structure, watching as sparks rained down around them. There was the foreboding sound of the large doors leading into the security office sealing themselves short. It made sense that the Security office would be among the most secure places on the station, because you can't let the prisoners escape no matter what. It was quickly obvious that they had lost power. Crawling out from beneath her desk she quickly saw Sven had slumped to the floor. From the look of things, it seemed that he had suffered some sort of head injury. She moved his arm out of the way and tapped his comm badge. =/\= "Security office to Sickbay! Medical emergency! Lieutenant Aune appears to have suffered a head injury and is unconscious!" =/\= She had no idea whether or not the message had gone through. "Hey! Wake up!" she said, but didn't expect much success. It then dawned upon her that she wasn't alone. "Help! Help!" she called out, hoping that Vulcan would make use of those ears and hear her. Her luck wasn't good enough for him to have been engulfed in some conduit's explosion. She was still plagued by one looming question: what the hell had just happened? Was it some sort of attack? She doubted that it come from outside. No one had a weapon that could cripple a station this size in a single volley. Which made her wonder if there was some sort of incendiary device at work. It didn't seem to be the case, especially with the chaos that seemed to be raining down outside as well. No, the feedback had ruptured the panel here... as if it were an overload. Kova thought of using her computer to see if she could discern anything via the network, but it seemed to have suffered some damage as well through all the chaos.

Xander flipped the switch on his torch and abeam of light cut through the gloom. He walked back to the bar and took the hypo-spray administering himself a dose. "I wonder what the hell happened?" he asked more to himself. Tag Thea Baker [ Seamus - Blue Beta] Maybe their newest customer had a point, especially since Front Ear hadn't exactly been looked after properly by the people who previously ran the station before Flick and the crew of the Mac arrived. Still for everything to be working fine then nothing and no emergency back ups, something didn't feel right with the superstitious and cautious Irishman as she then offered to help with the solar decorations. That was a surprising turn of events given her earlier attitude and Seamus decided to accept and hope that this would be a fresh start between them. " It might not be the drink you wanted, but we can still offer most beverages and thank you, that would be great ... Jack here will show you the way" Seamus replied, gesturing towards the man nearest to him as some of the others returned with the emergency torches. Leaving them to get them situated until the solar decorations arrived, Seamus took a moment to breathe and knew that he had to remain the voice of reason until power was restored. When Xander then commented about what the hell had happened, Seamus had caught his spoken aloud thoughts and wished that they had some answers but until otherwise, wasn't about to add to Command's problems. " No idea but we make the best of it, Xander, keep ourselves busy and our customers comfortable .... let's knock up some pitchers, use up the fresh juices before they get warm and of course some cocktails too". Seamus then returned to the bar using his wrist light and the guidance of the emergency torches that had began to illuminate the immediate area and pulled out several pitchers.

[ Leanna & Ariana - Park, Deck 6] Just as Lea managed to settle Aven so she could help Max with the children at the food table, everything seemed to go wrong when the power suddenly went out, plunging them into darkness. Of course the Betazoid half expected the emergency back ups to bring them out of the pitch black but when they didn't and she saw the flash, followed quickly by one of the conduits exploding, she forgot about her own fear as Aven cried and she sought out Ariana by calling out to her. " Ari, it's okay sweetheart, just stay where you are"." I will, Mama".Pushing through the sudden change in emotions, Leanna started to calm Aven as Saya contacted Engineering and suggested that they try and find the fire extinguisher, before Judy spoke with Max and mentioned that she had flashlights and glowsticks. When she then called the kids over, Lea was able to seek out Ari, thanks to Max activating his flashlight and walked over to her friend as Max made a call to their children and Mabel. Lea and Ari then waited their turn as Helen, Michael and Benny received their glow sticks and attempted to keep the concern for her own parents at bay as Max became assertive with Judy over her trying to get to Ops, after she had also told Saya about the extinguisher's location. " If you can't get to them and with comms working, you and Saya could always coordinate from here, whilst me, Max and Kyo keep the kids entertained" Lea offered, understanding a little as this wasn't the first emergency situation that she had been in. " What do you say kids, we can have a glowstick party instead and still have food and cake"." Yes Mama ... it'll be fun".

| The Shining Quartz || Opal Peridot | Max Bennigan |
*************************************** |Science Lab, Deck 26 || Alice Duff |
Alice's chair spun slowly to a stop as she brushed away her frizzy red hair from her face.
[ Shavan Th’zhaar - Science Lab] The response from Engineering, while not totally reassuring, revealed that this had affected the whole station. Since they didn’t know what was going on either he didn’t try to contact anyone else yet, and instead turned back to Alice. Shavan saw the glow of sparks in the air, vivid in the darkness, before one landed and caught in.. “Your hair.” He quickly reached out to smother the flame with the sleeve of his uniform. Shavan ran a hand through his own long black hair to check that nothing similar had happened to it. There was a knock on the door from his shift partner, who had finally stopped napping and gone out to check something while Shavan had been looking at the sensor glitch. Then, with a crash and a shower of flame and broken conduits, a panel fell out of the ceiling and landed embedded in a computer station on the other side of the room. Now with enough light to do so thanks to the fire, he ran across to where there was a fire extinguisher and emergency kit with a flashlight. Pulling the fire extinguisher from the wall he wasted no time trying to get things under control. ________ [ T’Laara - Promenade] When Opal’s hologram disappeared T’Laara wondered if they would still be able to talk, but the horta quickly revealed that whatever device allowed her to communicate was separate and functional. And that she had little trouble getting past the door. So, things weren’t as bad as they could have been. “That’s a good idea.” she replied to the suggestion that they use more of the glowing quartz to illuminate the shop and invite others in. T’Laara went to follow the man, Max, into the storeroom to help, but paused on the threshold as a scream came from outside. She turned and instead of going to the back room, ducked out the hole that Opal had made in the front doors. Holding up the faintly glowing crystal, she walked quickly down the darkened Promenade in the direction the scream had come from. “Hello? Does anyone need assistance?” she called out into the dark. [NPC - Fatax - Corridor Outside Lab]This was Fatax's chance. The last incident of chaos on the station had caught the Ferengi in the Brig, a controlled area, with unfriendly cellmates, but this time, he was in the more luxurious realm of Primary Sickbay, recovering from a splenectomy. He'd been placed there because a fellow Brig inmate had tried to attack him at the Brig medical center. When the power went out, so did the force field around his biobed, so Fatax had managed to make a run for it. But now, stuck outside in a medical gown, he realized that this was not such a good prison break attempt - he needed an exit plan. He decided to try the first open door he could find. "What's going on?" Fatax squealed through, once his hands felt a door open. "Why can you Starfleet not get anything right?"

| Security office || lt. Sven Aune | Sorrin Mar'kin |Sven floated downward in an ocean of oppressive darkness. He landed with a gentile thud and sand from the sea bed erupted all around him. He blinked as the sand slowly settled. Off in the murky distance he made out his old childhood home. A run down farm house with faded and peeling white paint. A large windmill stood behind it turning in the watery depths. He walked ever so slowly fighting against the current. Everything was in slow motion. As he approached the house light shot forth from the upstairs window. He could make out two silhouetted figures: one larger than the other. The larger one stuck the smaller one and Sven felt confusion and hurt wash over him. The larger figured struck the smaller one a second time. Pain and anger wracked his body. A third time and Sven felt himself falling backwards through the water. Above him the moon danced through the rippling water casting its silvery light. He felt his back hit the sandy bottom and everything went dark. His physical body lay there unresponsive with a trickle of blood oozing from his nose. Sorrin on the other hand was caught unaware much like most of the station's inhabitants. His training kicked in and he felt for the grooved guidelines in the wall. He walked along it until it led him to an emergency locker. He popped it open knowing that the upper right side would have a torch. He pulled it away and flipped the switch. A cone of light erupted forth. The first thing he checked was to make sure the emergency bulkhead doors came down around the cells. And he counted the inmates. One, two three. All accounted for. He went back to the security desk and tapped the console. Dead. Then he heard the muffled cries for help. It was that insufferable Andorian. Wait. He shoved the emotion "insufferable" deep down into Vulcan "No-no-box" He sighed. She was panicking. We walked over to the thick door that separated the office and the brig proper, which also sealed. He spoke as loud as he could without screaming, because that would denote anger. "It is illogical to panic right now. Pause. Center yourself and take a breath." he offered in as much of a pseudo-screaming calm voice as possible setting aside his petty differences. He had heard that Aune was knocked unconscious. "If I heard correctly he is unconscious? Can you take his pulse?" He would work on finding a way to open the door. Tag Kova Sh'qaleq

He headed over to the chiller and took out what would expire first working quickly to keep as much of the cold air in as possible. He starting mixing this with that, blending my hand. Any ice had to be smashed with a mallet and thus he couldn't achieve a fine crush. But these were strange circumstances. He made a number of pitchers and placed them on the bar top. He then entered the pantry and acquired some snacks. A range from sweet to savory to salty. "I think we might as well make this as pleasant as possible. I hope it doesn't take too long for the power to restore. Do we have a back-up generator?"Meanwhile, Sherry followed Jack back into the warehouse where she was shown the solar powered decorations. She picked on up and examined it with her little light. "Oh, how hideous." she lamanted. "Nothing to be said for it. [ Leanna & Ariana - Park, Deck 6] Lea's gaze lingered on Alieth as Saya reassured them well mainly Judy about how the food would be safe and how it was difficult for her to get into trouble due to her height. Although did become intrigued when Saya then recounted a tale about Alieth getting her horns caught under a table which had led to a noise complaint. Of course there was some sympathy before her friend referred to the noise as that of a dying goose. The mother of two could only imagine what that sounded like, as Max admitted that they had remembered how Ari liked My Little Targ, which was appreciated, before Michael did an impression of what Alieth sounded like. " I didn't but now I do and that's very much appreciated Max" Lea replied, acknowledging her newest Chef, as Ari then became interested in what Michael was doing and decided to copy him. However her mother didn't know whether to laugh or not, momentarily distracted by her daughter's antics, until Michael told them how Alieth liked to encourage the corgi's. She could easily imagine what they got up too as Judy then shared with them about how a certain someone also encouraged Alieth to eat their veggies. [ Chief Ozu Saya and family - Park] When Alieth heard Michael's imitation of her own cries, the little three-horn stopped trying to get to the food and went over to the little boy and started nosing at him with her blunt horn, making soft honking noises in sympathy. You are quite good at that, Saya said in surprise. She'd never heard anyone even try to imitate the sound, let alone so accurately. Michael, I think it might be best to refrain from imitating Alieth too much, otherwise we might be treated to the real thing. And she is far louder than you are.Cake? Evekh asked hopefully, hopping up from the ground. Not yet, Kyo answered. But come on and I'll help you get some other food, then we'll have cake later.Saya reached out and took Alieth's leash from him, figuring it wasn't fair that he have to juggle the three-year-old and the three-horn while trying to prepare plates of food. Evekh had just reached his father and grabbed Kyo's hand when the park suddenly went pitch black. Evekh cried out in surprise, and Saya could hear Kyo's voice shifting as he crouched down to comfort the toddler. Saya froze in surprise for a moment, then jumped when there was a flash and small explosion across the park from them. That was an EPS conduit, she said in a quietly controlled voice, hoping it carried enough for the adults to hear but not alarm the children. =/\= Ozu to engineering. Report.Chief, the whole station's lost power. Even the core is down. We've got life support, gravity, some communications, obviously.Fire suppression systems? Her eyes were trained on the distant glow that seemed to be growing larger. Uh, I'm not sure, ma'am.Find out quickly. And keep me updated. I'll try to make my way down there, but I'm on Deck 6.Aye, Chief. =/\= Saya could just barely see her companions now, her vision becoming accustomed to the minimal light from the fire. If the fire suppression systems are not operational, we need to find a hand-held extinguisher. There should be one here. We need to stop that fire before it spreads to the plants. She was trying to remember where that would be in relation to their current location. {Spoiler} [Cmdr. tag Ozu Saya Judith Eastman [ Chief Ozu Saya and family - Park] Thank the Prophets for Judy's tendency to collect things. Saya wasn't even surprised that she had not only several flashlights, but glow sticks that she passed out to the children. Saya took one of the flashlights and trained it on the ground in front of her so that she wouldn't trip as she rushed back toward the turbolift to retrieve the fire extinguisher. There was an oxygen mask hanging next to it, which the engineer quickly donned before hurrying to the fire on the other side of the park. There was a flare as a tree caught fire, and Saya picked up her pace until she was almost running, the small circle of light from the flashlight the only thing keeping her from tripping over plants and the edges of flower beds. She felt bad for trampling over the plants, but it was better to lose a few than have the entire park engulfed in flames. The oxygen mask kept her from inhaling any of the dangerous plasma fumes, but the heat was intense as Saya got close enough to begin using the extinguisher. She started at the tree that had started burning and worked her way back to the blown conduit. It only took a couple of minutes to extinguish the fire, but the exposed conduit was still sparking. She coated the ground in front of the panel, hoping the flame retardant would keep any embers from flaring up again. With a sigh of relief, Saya made her way back to the other party attendees, removing the mask as she walked. You'll have to keep an eye on that, she said as she approached. There's no more plasma going through the conduit, but there are sparks that could ignite the grass or other plants. I tried to lay down a layer of this stuff. Saya held up the extinguisher. Judy, I think it's a good idea for you to stay put. You can coordinate from here.
