[ Bindi - Orient Express] Bindi was quick to acknowledge how Ryah wanted to collect the potentially tainted food and drink, understanding why they had to be careful and limit their contact with it, especially if the poison was transmitted via the skin. " Got it" the Bolian replied, before following Ryah to fetch napkins and helped her to gather up the food and drink from those who had been affected and Rani's tray. Once it had been secured behind the bar, Bindi then answered Ryah when she asked if someone could stay and keep the evidence safe. " I can as this is where I've been most of the night" she offered, rather than call one of the others. ****************** Leanna - Orient Express] Leanna smiled as Left Ear thanked her, the Sivaoan's gratefulness apparent as she accepted the medkit from her, just as Redd made his comment. It appeared that Left Ear had understood what he was referencing whilst the Betazoid was relieved to hear some of his usual compliments despite what he had gone through. " That's definitely a good sign if he's saying things like that" she commented, before he passed out again. When Left Ear then scanned him and mentioned Cyanide or that's what it sounded like and that he must of ingested it. Leanna wasn't aware of that particular poison but if he had ingested then that would mean his food was tampered with. " I wonder if it was something he ate ... wait .. he was drinking gin and eating caviar" she said as her mind began to process it all. " What does the tricorder say, is there anything else that I can help with?".
tag Ozu Saya soft tag Charlie Fox|Orient Express || lt. cmdr. Sven Aune |Sven nodded as Rayh and Bremmer took to their tasks. And they did so with professionalism and haste. Hopefully this would help organize any efforts needed to solve the poisonings. But now something else had added to the mix. Bodies disappeared. Right into thin air. Given the size of the cars and the number of people, someone would have seen them move. Perhaps they were holograms? If that were the case, was the true target supposed to be Redd himself and the rest were distractions? He looked around and found Redd with Left-ear. He made his way over. "How is he?" he asked the Sivaoan. "Not to be overly paranoid, but Redd may be in more danger."Tag Ozu Saya for Left-Ear [ Left Ear to-Ennien - Dining Car] Thank you, Leanna. I'm not sure what else to do for him. The scanner said it was that poison, but the medical kit doesn't have any of the treatments it recommends. He looks significantly better, and may recover on his own.She blinked up at the overly large human looming above her. I'll stay with him unless someone else becomes ill, but we need to get the victims medical treatment as soon as possible.
Tag Leanna Mazal, Sven Aune|Dining car, Orient Express || lt. cmdr. Sven Aune|Oh for the love of God. The Ferangi had gone into hysterics. Typical. They were just shy of being as dramatic as Klingons. Maybe that's why the hated each other so much. In a constant competition of who can flail around more. Sven sighed. He didn't care much for this Ferangi, and his business of gambling. And given the situation, the last thing they needed was panicking people... That said, Bremmer made a declaration. She shouted to the car that everyone drop what they are doing. Stop eating. Okay, that's one way to get their attention he thought. And overall he was fine with that. But the next part made him groan. Don't panic... People had a tendency to hear only the last part. Subconsciously they miss the "don't" part and only hear "panic" She would need some more training. Right now though, he wasn't going to step in. He was curious to see how she would handle this. Perhaps Bremmer had the makings of deputy. He'd observe. The panicking Ferangi brought his mind back to reality. Sven didn't have much patience and his war time training kicked in. He popped the man in the lobes with enough force to drop him into a realm of sleepy-bye. He shook his fingers. He looked to Rayh. "This is a small space. No way out. The program is stuck. People are going to panic. They will get restless to know what's going on. They already know that there has been a poisoning."He signaled for Bremmer then spoke to her. "I want you to consolidate the civilians into a safe group. I'm putting you on point to ensure their safety. You're word is law right now." He was testing her further. How would she handle a bit of power and authority?
The next part made Sven feel really weird. He was ordering his ex-boss. "Ryah, I would like you to work with the serving staff to coordinate a removal of all the food and drink. Isolate it into a separate place so forensics can investigate it when we can get this train program stopped." [Callista Maybourne, aka The Flopping Banshee - Lounge Car, Orient Express]Her convulsions had begun to slow by the time the doctor reached her - she was dying, the poison that was rushing through her system taking a proper hold. Through her parted lips came a liquid, unlike the foam, but by no means anywhere near the amount that would match the probable contents of her stomach. Her head lolled downward, her chin to her chest. With her body still in the doctor's grasp, she stopped breathing. If anyone cared to look back at the place where the poor, unfortunate lover named Phoenix had fallen, they would see only an empty space where the man once lay. [ Cwm Eliska Bremmer - Orient Express ]
While seeing to people setting down their food, Eliska found herself signaled by her over-sized superior, and she wasted no time going to him to receive directions. After all, as a Crewman she was expected to show a degree of initiative, but when an officer called, well, she listened. Especially one she'd seen had a solid head on his shoulders like Mister Aune. Get the civvies under control, easy enough. "On it, boss," she acknowledged curtly before getting to work. Granted, there were a lot of civilians involved here, and some were pretty much unofficial station staff, between their expertise, initiative, or how closely they worked with Starfleet on a regular basis, so those they ignored; the rest, however, she started shepherding towards the aft-most sleeper car, though not before making sure it was completely empty, and that the door leading further back would be locked. It would be cramped, but at least it would get everyone in one space that could be locked up, and free her to make herself useful where Chief Melinh and Lieutenant Aune might want her. Though it had not been the easiest. Some cooperated; others had to be cajoled. One who'd enjoyed entirely too much to drink had to be convinced in a way even a whiskey-saturated brain could understand, and that one might need to get his elbow looked at by the docs once this would be all over, for she might have hyper-extended it a little... With the initial pass done, and the bulk of the flesh-and-blood civilians tucked away, she returned to find a woman who'd been screeching like a banshee collapse, also foaming at the mouth in the care of someone who had to be a doctor... but her companion, one of the early casualties, was gone. Looking around, she tried to see any evidence of bodies being collected, like a neat row of lumps covered with tableclothes, and saw none. "Chief Melinh," she called out, seeing how the woman was in charge of gathering samples and extrapolating body management might be part of that, "Did someone move the body that was here? One of the early casualties?"

[ Alex - Lounge Car] Once he had handed over the tricorder to the Doctor, Alex stood by just in case he was needed further and quietly observed the fleeters at work, admitting to himself that he quite liked this Kova's attitude, before the woman on the floor caught his attention, followed by the strange disappearance of the man who she had been with. Then there was concern when Nix was asked questions about the Champagne. Although he was sure that their newest staff member could handle herself, as Chloe was then asked to test the food before the woman who had been dying before them was revived by the Doctor. That was nothing short of a miracle in the Musician's eyes, despite understanding that they weren't out of this just yet, especially when Alec then explained what he wanted Alex to do. If the cured beef was needed to help then it was the least he could do and remembered seeing Left Ear with Redd on his way to the Lounge Car. " Sure I can do that and bring it to where it's needed" He replied, before he was told to let Chloe test it first. " Understood, I'll be back as soon as I can with it".Then Alex left and made his way to the Kitchen Car, knowing it would take him a few minutes to gather it all. ****************** [ Bindi - Dining Car] With Ryah leaving, Bindi returned to her spot behind the bar to watch over the food that had been collected as evidence. As much as she still hated the thought that someone had tampered with the food and drink from the Blue Beta, she was certain that it wasn't one of the staff and yet could only wait to see who the culprit was. ********************** [ Leanna - Dining Car] When Left Ear then thanked her, before admitting that she wasn't sure what else to do for him and that the medical kit didn't have any of the recommended treatments for the poison. Leanna understood and knew that they needed a stroke of good luck about now. Although still couldn't help but shake the feeling that it was somehow connected to what Redd had consumed as Left Ear told her that Redd looked better and should recover on his own. That was definitely something as they were then joined by Sven who asked for an update and listened as Left Ear answered him. " I can stay as well if needed, I know my staff have been helping to gather up the food and drink and you have our full cooperation should it turn out to be the source of the poison".They had nothing to hide, despite the possibility of incrimination against them and Lea would do anything requested in order to clear their name.

[Chloe Hudson - Lounge Car]
This disappearing bodies added a new layer of complexity on top of the mystery. Kova meanwhile, seemed more concerned with berating the poor doctor who was only trying to do what he could to help, than solving the case. "We know the posion was in either the champagne or the caviar, so lets track down their origin," Chloe suggested before leaving and hurrying over to the bar. "I need to see your stock of champagne. Who served that table?" she asked the bartender. [ Nix - Lounge Car] [...] " It's just behind the bar here, each bar was given four boxes and it was me who served that table ..... excuse me, you don't think the Blue Beta is responsible do you?".She might be speaking out of term but if the bar was somehow involved, then she had to inform Leanna, not that she wanted to believe it. [Alec Trenzal - Lounge Car] Alec spared the barest hint of a glare at the Andorian as he reached one hand up to snatch the tricorder while lowering the unconscious woman to lie flat on the floor. A quick scan, then he leaned down, held the woman's nose, and blew several breaths into her mouth. Take the tricorder and test the food, but bring it right back if I call for it, he told Chloe without looking up. He continued administering rescue breaths until the woman gasped and sucked in a breath. Alec quickly rolled her to her side and did the tried-and-true fingers down the gullet to induce vomiting. He took a look around, hoping for some inspiration. It had been far too many years since he'd had to do medicine with so few resources. Something clicked - cyanide... Hey, he reached for the waiter who'd brought the tricorder to him. Gather up all of the, um, that cured beef appetizer. Bring some to me and some to the felinoid in the dining car, she's a healer. Tell her to feed it to anyone who starts to show symptoms. It's not a cure, but it may delay the progression long enough for us to get actual treatments.
No, damn it. Have her check it with the tricorder, first. Make sure it's not poisoned. He jerked a thumb at Chloe. She's not a hologram, he said to Kova. Do you have anything actually useful to contribute, or are you just here to criticize? Alec was never that short with people, but murders did tend to get to him.
[ Melihn Ryah - Dining Car --> Lounge Car] Ryah finished collecting the food and drink closest to Redd and left the staff to gather the rest in the dining car while she headed for the lounge car to see if there was more of the same to be done. Indeed, it looked like there was at least one victim on the floor. Gathering a handful of cloth napkins she began gathering what she could of the food matter around the woman. Crewman Bremmer stopped her with a question, and she looked around in confusion. Body? I didn't know there was another body. [ Kova Sh'qaleq - Lounge Car, Front Ear Station] It was obvious that everyone seemed to have a focus. Alec here seemed to be concerned about his 'patient' and Kova considered the term rather loosely, considering his patient had bit it while under his care. Okay, so he got some credit for slight gasp, but she had been dead at least temporarily. In all likelihood, there was nothing he could have done to prevent her temporary demise considering her exposure to an actual toxin. And then there was Chloe, who seemed focused on finding who was responsible. Personally, Kova had had only a single agenda the entire evening: getting the hell out of there. Kova was confident that if her goal was achieved, then the rest would all fall into place. The life expectancy of the people in this room would exponentially increase, it'd be a lot easier to track down who was responsible for all of this if they could end the simulation, and lastly she could get out of this dress. Did humans believe in strangling their women with fabrics from head to toe? Perhaps their torture techniques were more sinister than she'd given them credit for. Kova reached for the tricorder that had been meant for Chloe. With her interrogating the bartender and Doctor Do-Little not paying attention to whom he was handing the tricorder off to, it was rather easy to take hold of it. She was hardly going to ask permission as she clasped her hands behind her back, keeping the device from view for now. With her presence there a clear annoyance to Alec, she finally scoffed and walked off as he asked if she had anything to actually contribute. "Actually, I do," she said a she moved towards the bar, mumbling under her breath, "Saving your pink little ass."Kova's eyes scanned the immediate vicinity for something she could use as a crude tool. "The longer we stay in here, the more likely we end up like her." Or her vanishing boyfriend. Upon selecting a knife from behind the bar, Kova pried off the back of the tricorder and began to tinker. "Holo-technology is very similar to transporter technology in the way that it assembles matter. If I can reconfigure the subspace waveguide in this tricorder, I can amplify the signal so that it emits a dispersion signal that should poke holes in the actual simulation."Kova looked up at those around her, and was quite certain that none of them understood what she'd just said. A dispirited sigh left her lips. Only that ridge-nosed Vulcan in the other car possibly had a clue of understanding what she'd just said. "We could probably find the arch. Assuming we don't overload the circuitry in the process." And upon accessing the arch, they should be able to use it to either call for help or shutdown the holodeck reactors. Kova returned to her tinkering, taking only a few moments before she was finished. The tricorder certainly didn't appear as it had before, and there were even a few parts that had been scattered onto the bar. "Who's ready for a peek behind the curtain." The Andorian looked around the car for a clue of where to even begin to activate the tricorder. It was possible she'd have to look in another car. However, her eyes fixed on an area behind the bar. "There.Kova started to stand, but again felt the restriction of the dress' fabric. "Dammit," she cursed. She took the knife and grabbing a handful of her dress slipped the blade through the fabric. She pulled the blade down, cutting a split in the left side of her dress. She then managed to pull the rest of it all the way to the hem. Finally, being able to move, she hoisted herself onto the bartop and slid around to land behind the bar. "This cabinet. It's asymmetric with the one at the other end of the bar. Holo-programs often build in tiny safety features that would allow you to access the arch. This one is lower than the other and just about the right height."Opening the cabinet, the only thing visible was glasses and a few saucers. Kova moved back to the bar and after lining up the tricorder with the open cabinet door, turned it on. There was a steady whine and soon, the glasses in the cabinet shimmered, ultimately revealing the actual arch. The Andorian's lips curled into a slight smirk. She doubted the doctor could see it from the floor while he was tending to the girl, and trying to avoid blunder like he'd had moments before. "I believe the human expression is 'Presto'!""Now, let's have a look," she said as she moved towards the arch. She came to one obstacle, and while she could have worked around it, hacking the system with Ryah and Bremmer so close would surely be frowned upon. "I need the access codes of someone with a little pull," Kova announced. Any of the senior officers would do, and possibly Chloe. Those Intelligence types always had more access than they actually let on.

[Sir Dugris "Doug" Zaman, MBE, PhD, JD, MBA, PE, RA - Dining Car, Orient Express]Doug sighed. This seemed about in line with their worst case scenario. "I know an unsafe way to undo it. We could just write our own, but without knowing more about the architecture of the program, we could create a rain of arrows that fall on us from the ceiling, from experience," he said. "However, programs' tolerances can get a lot higher when you reach a story point. I wouldn't be surprised if that's the case here too," Sir Doug then added. "That could be dangerous too. I don't know for sure." [Charlie Fox - Driver's Cab, Orient Express]Exactly, Charlie thought when T'Laara pointed out that the train would surely stop itself if they stopped feeding it. The Vulcan put it much more succinctly than she might have been able to in that moment, so she found herself grateful that she'd decided to come. Charlie had less patience for certain behaviour these days, and when one was in mortal danger on a holodeck, calmer heads prevailing were very useful. "Yes, yes it would. Okay." The Conductor looked to be turning away to address one of the sooted-up engineers when he paused for a moment and looked back at T'Laara. "Y'know, for a dame, you're quite savvy." Then he moved off, yelling at the others. "All hands! Down tools!"Charlie's hand moved up to her face and she pinched the bridge of her nose, willing herself not to react. This was obviously a hologram, programmed to act like a gentleman conductor from the 1930s. She glanced over at the "savvy dame" and raised a brow, pulling her hand away. "We need a manifest, too!" She shouted after him. "This really would be the most perfect time for an attack, wouldn't it?" She didn't really require an answer, she already knew it. She hoped fervently that that wasn't the case. "Okay, we're detectives in a holonovel. From what we know, three people targeted, seemingly at random. Train brake system sabotaged. What's next?" [ Shavan Th’zhaar - Dining Car, Orient Express] Shavan half smiled. His own methods of solving things, after all, tended to be on the dangerous side. Whatever brought results, fast. “That’s what I was thinking, but figured I should ask.” He typed a few more commands into the PADD. "I've isolated some of the altered subroutines so we can start trying to overwrite them." Shavan frowned down at the screen, trying to make sense of what he was seeing. Some of the changes were very recent. "I think that's exactly what the saboteur is doing to the original program. Which means they're doing it from somewhere in here, too." He offered the PADD to Doug, while looking around the car for anyone else who could have had the opportunity to do it. Tag Dugris Zaman ________ [ T’Laara - Driver’s Cab, Orient Express] T’Laara raised one eyebrow at the conductor’s comment, but said no more as he went back to work and hopefully to get the manifest. “As you mentioned earlier, a typical course of action would involve interviewing witnesses and attempting to gain information about the victims’ relationships, as well as retracing their steps leading up to the murders.” She considered further. “But I believe that the very first step every holonovel detective makes is to examine the crime scene. If this was a story, there would likely be a piece of physical evidence that hasn’t yet been noticed, or a clue in the form of something that just isn’t quite right.” She looked back at Charlie, and then to the holographic workers in front of them. “If we count the entire train as the crime scene, we may as well start in here. It is an unlikely place to find anything, but that means it is also a likely place to be overlooked.” T’Laara walked further into the driver’s cab, looking for anything out of place. She raised her voice to regain the attention of the conductor. “Did anyone else come in here tonight?”Tag Charlie Fox

[Chloe Hudson - Lounge Car]The bartender seemed nervous, and even seemed to be concerned she was a suspect. All this investigating, and the pressure the young ensign felt seemed to be stressing her out, she started to feel a headache. Odd, she had never gotten stress headaches before. Chloe was concerned for what this could mean in the future if she was given more responsibility, but for now, that wasn't something she could afford to worry about. "It's possible someone managed to get into your..." she was starting to feel a little dizzy, "Sorry...Someone might have gotten into your stock its...uh...it doesn't mean its your...your fault," Chloe went to grab the tricorder off the doctor but Kova took it and started mumbling something, though Chloe couldn't really hear, her headache was getting worse. She followed Kova, though it was difficult, she was dizzy. What was going on? "I..." she was panting and gasping for air, "Have...codes," she was not alright, and it had finally clicked, or at least she had accepted what it was. "I...had the caviar," she said to Kova, her eyes and tone clearly conveying that she was scared. She suddenly and violently began to retch, throwing up in front of the bar counter. Was she going to die? Here? Like this?

["PHOENIX" - First Class Sleeping Car #1]It not only took training and powerful meditation to master the Dolbargy sleeping trance, but also, in most cases, bravery. The humanoid called Phoenix was not brave in the traditional sense of the word. What he had was clarity of vision and the certainty that he would achieve it. There was nothing to stop him. Not the Andorian pawing around, trying to find signs of life, nor the young Intelligence officer who had removed the wailing idiot from his presence, nor, it seemed, the doctor who barely spared him a glance. One of the Security personnel had even taken the time to imprison all of the other guests into the one car, and had actually locked it. So very considerate. His hand, once lifeless, slid inside the pocket of his suit pants and wrapped around the small, cold device. His finger pressed and suddenly, he was gone. And then he was on his feet. Without wasting any further time he dropped the miniature, site-to-site transporter and stomped on it, removed his jacket, his bowtie and reached a hand beneath the ornate bed for the rest of his secreted effects. From a unassuming canvas pack he pulled his weapon of choice, and a handheld transceiver. He exited the VIP room and began to dispatch of any stragglers that the over-zealous Security crewman had seemingly missed. He would have preferred to take his time with them, but alas, there was no time to educate them in the glory of the Great Design. Understanding would soon come to them all, though, he reminded himself, no matter how they met their end. The one called Phoenix, his clothes covered in the blood of the guests in the sleeping car, stood in the center of it and smiled at a face that had appeared in the window of the locked car before him. He even waved. He was a little jealous; they were all in for such a treat. His fingers tapped a short code into the transceiver and mere nanoseconds later, a large crash sounded, followed by debris shooting away from the train car doors. The explosive he had planted on the old-fashioned coupler between his car and the one in front had been detonated, separating him from the others. He waved again as the rest of the train, carrying the rest of the people, sped away. But he wasn't finished his work yet. No, it was time for the grand finale.

She raised her voice to regain the attention of the conductor. “Did anyone else come in here tonight?” [Charlie Fox - Driver's Cab, Orient Express]"Very true," Charlie mused aloud, not for the first time impressed by the Vulcan. She'd missed her calling, in her opinion. Charlie stepped even further into the car, giving everything a precursory look, including the holographic workers. The Conductor, in the meantime, seemed happy enough to answer the savvy dame's questions. He'd obviously been programmed to be helpful. "The usual suspects, Madam," he told her as he picked up a large binder, filled with hundreds of stained, dog-eared paper pages. He licked his thumb and began leafing through them. "Myself, and the lads here. One of the servers brought us a spot of munch earlier, very considerate of him. Rani, his name is.""Wot 'bout tha other bloke, boss? The deadhead wot had the hard on for engines.""Oh, right. We get enthusiasts sometimes; they like to tour the lesser-seen parts of the train, like the cab, or the engine rooms." He flipped to the very last page and squinted as he read. "'Phoenix' is all he signed here," he said, and then tried to push the manifest into T'Laara's hands. Immediately thereafter, two things happened in quick succession. The first was the sight of the foreign, metallic disk-like device nestled atop the unused coals in the corner. The formerly green, static light began blinking red. "T'Laara..." Charlie muttered, and then began backing away. Then, the sound of an explosion, a rumble and a shake. "What in blazes!?" The Conductor threw his head out one of the windows, and with some disbelief, yelled, "The train's been separated!" When he pulled his head back in it was as pale as the sheets of his manifest.

Her neck stretched as she realized that she suddenly couldn't get air. Her paws went to her throat as she stared at Leanna with wide blue eyes, her tail stiffening and all of her fur puffing out. She reached one hand toward the medkit.

[ Kova Sh'qaleq - Lounge Car, Orient Express, Front Ear Station] Kova turned to see if anyone had actually bothered to listen to what she was saying. Other than Dr. Death of course. He seemed pretty sore about the tricorder, but he clearly wasn't thinking big picture. As Kova's eyes fell upon Chloe, who had mentioned something about codes, it was quickly obvious that something was very much wrong. Kova wasn't even sure if the woman was completely coherent. "Hey, are you okay?" she asked. The only reply she got from Chloe was the intelligence officer mentioning that she had the caviar. "The cavi--" Kova's eyes widened immediately as the realization washed over her. She started to take a step towards the bar when the girl began to spew what looked to be her breakfast, lunch and dinner. "Whoa!" said Kova quickly taking a step back. She knew that this poison had to be ingested, but exactly how sure were they of that? Kova maintained a healthy distance as she tried to coach Harmon's sidepiece into a chair. That clearly wasn't happening. However, Alec made it towards her quickly enough to lower her as gently as possible to the floor. "Um, I can take it from here." There really wasn't a need to trouble Chloe for her access codes if she was pounding on Heaven's door. Kova was more than capable of bypassing the lockout. And surely, these were the sort of circumstances where such indiscretions could be overlooked. Kova's hand danced across the arch's panel at what looked like a blur. The image on the screen jumped from code to code, but it made perfect sense to Kova. "The changes to this program happened recently," the Andorian remarked as she continued to go through the code. "Safety protocols and comms to the main computer were overwritten." The Andorian grit her teeth. Typically people rerouted routines, but this was a hacked rush-job. There was no finesse to any of it. That made it even more difficult to correct. She continued to sift through the code until she found what she was looking for, the endgame protocols. Since she couldn't interrupt it with an emergency, then perhaps she could have the program run its course. She paused as she read through the code. "Dammit! We have to finish the story," Kova said. "Does someone know how this thing ends?"She waited for a response, but she had been hoping for a speedy one. Annoyed that it wasn't happening on her time table, Kova's attention returned to the screen. "First, let's thin the herd then," she stated. She made a few modifications and watched as several people in the room just vanished. Some of the holograms had been turned off. That was a start. Allowing her attention to return to the screen, she didn't get very far before she felt the train jerk slightly after what sounded like an explosion. "What the hell was that?!"The Andorian began to wonder if they were supposed to be trekking through some sort of warzone. Her eyes returned to the screen. This was the problem in front of her that she actually stood a chance at solving. "Okay... I can see all of our life signs... but this one is isolated." There were dots all aggregated with the exception of one. She looked in the direction that the explosion had come. "It's them."With still no idea what was happening, Kova clinched her first in frustration. What the hell was she supposed to do. The only way to stop the simulation was to finish it. A heavy sigh left her lips as she noticed something else... a counter. Though, it was counting backwards. Something's... counting down. I can't stop it, or slow it down. I can... I can speed it up." Kova looked around. She supposed Chloe would have been one to give advice, but that wasn't really an option while she was hocking her guts out. "Hey, someone want to weigh in?" she said raising her voice. "We can either sit with our thumbs up are asses for the next twenty minutes to logic it out, or we skip to the last page." She was hoping her raised voice would be heard by someone with authority... or pointy ears. Though, did the people like Chloe have twenty minutes? Besides, the bekh[fn]penis... it's not a term of endearment in this context[/fn] responsible for this was standing off in a lone car wanted those extra twenty minutes for something. Perhaps the smart move was to mess with his time table.

[ Leanna - Dining Car] For a moment Leanna seemed to space out after feeling an unexpected jolt, almost as if she was no longer in the present as her abilities almost overloaded with the sudden feeling of fear, pain and death. Lea had experienced that kind of terror many times as lives were extinguished without warning or with the chance to escape. This was more and in stereo compared to the tragedy of Rani's passing and she had to fight to clear her head as the echoes of the dead joined that of her Employee. A single tear began to fall as the Betazoid attempted to process it all and what it meant, until she sensed a familiarity, one that was intent on hurting others, as well as a sense of purpose that he was doing this for the greater good. That's when realisation kicked in about how he was responsible and what he had done. " I can sense another Betazoid, I believe he's the one responsible for all of this .... he's killed others and he's moving away from us" she said her voice still sounding distant, but knew she had to tell the others. However as she finished speaking, she heard a hacking sound and quickly ascertained who it was coming from. Watching in horror as Left Ear's paws went to her throat, before she looked at Lea with her fur puffing out and attempting to reach for the medkit. " Left Ear stay with me" she pleaded as she dropped to her level and picked up the medkit, then opened it, unsure what to pick up first. " Sven, help me".******************* [ Nix - Lounge Car] Nix had dutifully moved out of the way for Kova as the Andorian then successfully attempted to find the arch. Relieved that she had found it, along with the blame being pointed to someone else for all of this and not have it aimed at the Blue Beta. However that still didn't make it right as Chloe then began to gasp for air, before vomiting. Seeing that and feeling helpless scared Nix, because she didn't want anyone else to die, before the Doctor and Kova rushed to help her, before almost being knocked to her feet by an unexpected jolt and hearing the Doctor shout about the beef. Nix wondered what the hell was going on, until Kova revealed that they had to end the story, a possible culprit and how something was counting down and the time frame they had to resolve it. " I don't know much about this story but surely we need to catch the culprit or the very least stop what's counting down ........... wait what if it's a bomb?" Nix offered with slight terror in her voice. ******************* [ Alex - Dining Car] The unexpected jolt followed by chaos in the kitchen had led to Alex almost dropping what was left of the cured Turkish beef. Finding himself having to dodge plates, cutlery and everything else that had crashed to the floor, before managing to get out, still holding his precious cargo. Then the Server, rushed through and towards the dining car, just as he heard the Doctor shout out and Nix mentioning something about a bomb. However he didn't say anything about that just yet as he rushed over to Alec, who was now tending to Chloe. " Sorry it took so long, we had some trouble in the kitchen but I've got the beef, luckily I was able to save it" He explained as he placed the platter down in front of Alec and stepped back, hoping that Chloe would be okay and looked towards Nix.

[Charlie Fox - Driver's Cab, Orient Express]"Very true," Charlie mused aloud, not for the first time impressed by the Vulcan. [ Ozu Saya - Dining Car --> Engine] Saya watched with concern as passengers panicked and tried to run away, as if there was anywhere to go on a moving train. There was some sort of jolt in the other cars, and more people are falling ill.[Sir Dugris "Doug" Zaman, MBE, PhD, JD, MBA, PE, RA - Dining Car, Orient Express]Sir Doug nodded with interest. An internal saboteur was an interesting element to consider. "Why don't we try to look at our connection closely?" he suggested. "They'd have to tamper with our uplink to the main computer to be able to do so much from the inside, I believe."With a few taps, he got them there. "Looks like a dampener at work. I've seen this from a lot of guerrilla groups, criminal outfits, and sometimes sovereign countries. And it can't be too far away, either," he noted. [ T’Laara - Driver’s Cab, Orient Express] “Rani? He was the first one who…” T’Laara gasped as the train rocked, and at the same moment she saw the metal device. Clutching the manifest, she looked at Charlie, thinking fast, wondering what to do. If this was really just a holonovel they’d open it and cut the right wire just in time. But in reality, she didn’t know what it was and they might not have time to find out. She looked to where the conductor was sticking his head out the window. The train was separated. To gain distance from this? “I think” she said stiffly, “someone should throw that out the window. Now.” The workers were closer, and couldn’t actually die. Focused as she was on the possibility of further danger, at first she barely registered the Starfleet officer’s entrance. When Ozu Saya asked what was going on, she gave part of the answer, but kept her eyes on the device and the workers. “Charlie found that device in here. Someone called Phoenix is likely responsible.”Tag Charlie Fox Ozu Saya ________ [ Shavan Th’zhaar - Dining Car, Orient Express] Shavan twitched his antennae in the direction of the sudden crash. Something more than poisoned food was happening. Which meant they had to get out of there- and had fortunately just found a potentially faster way to do it than editing the program. “Right, so have I.” Shavan responded when Doug said he’d seen this type of dampener before. Of course he didn’t mention that he’d learned most of this by using it in criminal outfits. "I’ll try to find it. Maybe we can use this to trace the connection and further narrow down the location.” If they could destroy it and take down the dampening field they'd be able to use the computer and communicate with the rest of the station. He took the PADD again and entered the commands necessary to do it. If it didn’t work they would just have to search. Tag Dugris Zaman

As she started forward, there was a distant jolt that caused her to stumble slightly. Saya increased her pace and arrived at the engine car at a jog. Ms. Fox? What is happening here? There was some sort of jolt in the other cars, and more people are falling ill.[ T’Laara - Driver’s Cab, Orient Express] “Rani? Someone called Phoenix is likely responsible.”[ Kova Sh'qaleq - Lounge Car, Orient Express, Front Ear Station] [...] She waited for a response, but she had been hoping for a speedy one. Annoyed that it wasn't happening on her time table, Kova's attention returned to the screen. "First, let's thin the herd then," she stated. She made a few modifications and watched as several people in the room just vanished. Some of the holograms had been turned off. That was a start. [...] [Charlie Fox - Driver's Cab, Orient Express]"This Phoenix, one of the passengers, came in for a tour of the cab. Wanted to get up close and personal with the engines," Charlie added to T'Laara's explanation, her eyes not once leaving the pile of coal that had been hiding what could only be a bomb. She straightened her arm and pointed at the device, which was blinking even faster than before. "I think it's active."It was then that she turned toward the Conductor and his workers, believing they would be the safest option to handle the device, much like T'Laara had suggested. "So, which one of you has the best arm?"They all turned to look at each other, a mixture of shock and confusion written all over their faces. But before any of them could respond, they disappeared into thin air. "This just keeps getting better..." Charlie muttered, then threw her hands up, a signal that she was about to lose it, or give up. "Either of you know anything about explosive defusal?" She spun on her heel to look at the other two women, though her gaze caught on the open door that the Chief had stepped through, and into the car beyond. "Someone separated the rest of the train from these three cars. Is there any way we can separate the driver's cab?"

She just wanted it to end. Her stomach purged and purged, and kept going even though there was nothing left inside of her. She began to shake violently again as her body went into shock.

[ Shavan Th’zhaar - Dining Car, Orient Express] Shavan twitched his antennae in the direction of the sudden crash. Tag Dugris Zaman [Sir Dugris "Doug" Zaman, MBE, PhD, JD, MBA, PE, RA - Dining Car, Orient Express]The sudden crash jolted them, including causing PooDoo to jump suddenly and scream. Sir Doug then took the little creature in his arms and gently stroked her fluffy back. "Here, PooDoo PooDoo PooDoo. It's okay, Pood. It's okay," he reassured the small ball of fur before setting her down. "We can try to trace the connection, certainly," he agreed with Shavan, having released the animal. "We only really have one axis to explore, so all we need to do is walk and see where the connection gets weaker. No need for triangulation or anything clever."Sir Doug could have tried to find it in 3-dimensional space, too, but the de-facto one-dimensionality of the train just made things simpler.

[Chloe Hudson - Orient Express]
Chloe had no idea what was going on. Suddenly she was knocked off her feet at the car shook. As she got back up again followed the Doc's orders and sat against the bar, continuing to vomit profusely. She kept looking back to Kova and the Doc, desperate for help, though she was struggling to focus on what was going on as she became more disoriented and her head continued to spin.
