[ Bindi - Orient Express] Up until Jack had informed them all about Rani and how they were to keep everyone's drinks topped up whilst Starfleet investigated, the Bolian server had been mainly tending the bar and ensuring that they didn't run out of anything. However with everything going on and it looking like others had fallen victim to whatever had caused Rani to die, she had decided to abandon the bar for now in order to help Jack and the rest of the Blue Beta team. In fact she had just delivered a tray containing several glasses of double whiskey to a nearby table when she was flagged down by Ryah. Listening as the Security officer explained what needed to be done as well as ask if someone could help her gather the food and drink from the vicinity of the victims and why. Given everything that had happened and the thought of someone tampering with the food had Bindi volunteering herself. " I'll help and understood, we can keep it behind the bar, it'll be safe there".******************* [ Leanna - Orient Express] Lea's initial search for some kind of med kit hadn't produced any results and so a slightly frustrated Betazoid continued, until it dawned on her that there should be at least a first aid kit in the kitchen car or at the very least a medkit if her staff had included one in the supplies that had been brought from the bar. Why she hadn't thought of this straightaway, she didn't know even if she cursed herself in the process. Med kit secured thanks to Rex coming to her rescue, Leanna carried it like it was precious cargo as she made her way back through the chaos and to Left Ear who had gotten Redd to throw up. " Sorry it took a little longer, but I have a med kit, my staff brought one over with the rest of the supplies" she said as she offered it to the Sivaoan. ******************* [Alex - Orient Express]
Once he received the PADD from Sir Doug along with the instructions as to who to pass it onto, Alex quickly moved, although was careful not to knock into anyone or let the PADD be knocked out of his hand. Sidestepping where he needed to, Alex was able to locate Doctor Trenzal not far from Kova and the others he recognised, identifying the Doctor as he asked about a med kit or first aid kit, making a mental note of the scene in front of him. The Musician and server doubted he would forget the sight for a while as he announced his arrival and his purpose for being here.
" Doctor Trenzal?, Sir Doug asked me to give you this tricorder and to give it back once this was over" He explained as he prepared to hand it over.

[Chloe Hudson - Lounge Car, Orient Express]The Bollinger and the caviar. That at least narrowed things down a little, though of course it was possible other items were also poisoned. Before Chloe could answer he question about why they weren't being taken to sickbay, the woman collapsed and began convulsing. It seemed she too had fallen victim to this poisoning. Fortunately a doctor soon arrived and shortly after that a tricorder for him. Around them people were panicked but she wasn't sure how to deal with that. The train was still going and the program apparently wouldn't stop, its not like the passengers had anywhere to do. "We need to figure out what the toxin was in so we can trace its origin, can you test the champagne and caviar?" she asked.

[Charlie Fox - Dining Car -> Driver's Cab]Charlie shook her head in response to T'Laara's question as she followed the woman out of the Dining Car and onwards. "The waiter we know is one of the Blue Beta's and Reddington I've only met tonight. His reputation does precede him a little, though. If my sources are correct, he's just finished a stint in a correctional facility, so it's possible he made an enemy or two."The Lounge Car seemed to be in even worse disarray than the Dining Car. People were shoving and pushing, while Charlie and T'Laara were moving against the traffic flow. "Hey! Slowly, slowly. Calm down, people!" Over the din she could hear a very distinctive accent ordering people to calm, and then she saw Chloe Hudson, busy with another guest. There were at least a couple of hopefully cooler heads here to wrangle the masses. She pressed forward, glancing toward her Vulcan companion every now and then to ensure she was still with her, and faring okay. "I'm starting to think your chaos theory might be closer to the truth," Charlie ground out through a clenched jaw as they approached the door at the far end of the car. Just a few more steps and they should be able to speak with the pilot. When the door was opened, inside the conductor and the driver were speaking in raised, concerned voices, heard over the mechanical sounds of the locomotive as soon as they stepped within and let the door shut behind them. "It's disengaged completely! We won't be able to apply the brake in an emergency!" [ T’Laara - Orient Express] T’Laara stayed close behind Charlie as they pushed through the crowded lounge car. She nodded as Charlie replied that she didn’t know the victims, but had heard that Redd was someone likely to have enemies. “That is possible. Unfortunately, it is one possibility among many.” As they walked she caught a brief glimpse of the second victim, another human man she did not recognize, before some other guests pushed between her and the unfortunate scene. Finally they reached the driver’s car, and… “Oh.. oh no.” She stared in alarm at the conductor. Between the out of control train and the renewed panic in the lounge car as yet another person collapsed, T’Laara felt her detachment slipping. For a moment she said nothing else as she regained composure. “If it is indeed the case that someone is trying to cause as much chaos as possible, then they are getting their wish. Chief Ozu, or someone else in Starfleet should be informed of this.” T’Laara looked back out the door, to the chaotic lounge car. “If there is truly a killer behind this, it possible they sabotaged the train and the holodeck controls as well. An extensively thought out plan.” She took a steadying breath, watching for anyone strange or suspicious. [Charlie Fox - Driver's Cab, Orient Express]Charlie felt cold suddenly. Her exposed skin erupted in goosebumps and she stiffened her body against a shudder as the realisation of what was going on dawned on her, and on T'Laara, it seemed. She could only agree with the Vulcan's sentiments. Trying to steal herself and fight off the panic gathering just beneath the surface, she stepped further into the cab and addressed the conductor. "Are you telling me we can't stop the train?""Not right now Miss, no!" He seemed to catch himself then, and moved toward them so they could be better heard over the noise of the engine and coal box. "Not to worry though! Everything will be fine! Go on now back to the dining car ladies, I'll have someone bring you a nice drink, shall I?""We need to stop this train, sir! There's been a number of fatalities onboard!""That's not possible!" He began to look frazzled, and his once straight hat was angled askew on his sweating head. "Stop feeding the thing with coal, you imbecile!" Charlie, beginning to lose her patience with this fiasco of an evening, pointed with an insistent finger toward the burner, and the ash-stained man shoveling the fuel. She glanced at T'Laara and shook her head. "You're right, the train is sabotaged. In fact, the whole program seems to be. This," she gestured around them, "Is like some sort of distraction. Are we meant to all perish, or do we need to finish the story?"She was at a complete loss.
Tag: Shavan Th'zhaar (T'Laara) *** [ Kova Sh'qaleq - Orient Express] Kova was quite certain that they had just played a complete round of Not It when it came to telling the wife of this poor schmoe that not only had he bit the big one, but that he'd been dunking his doughnuts in someone else's coffee. Kova had no idea what it meant, but a lot of people in the security office did replicate both coffee and doughnuts. Nevertheless, it did seem that Chloe had managed to get the banshee to take five. Not to mention pulling some valuable information from her: champagne and caviar. It seemed to make all the sense in the world that one of the two items had to be the source of the poison. Even as Bremmer went off to tell everyone not to eat or drink anything, Kova felt certain that she was safe. If this Bollinger was the top-shelf stuff, it was a safe bet that the Andorian had been served the generic crap. Somehow annoyed by the notion that she hadn't been exposed to the toxin, Kova crossed her arms in front of her chest. In the meantime, her mind began to sift through how they had managed to be stuck in this holodeck. She doubted anyone had the ability to restrict access to the degree that it had been. After all, with Chief Ozu there, the Vulcan should have been able to override it. That suggested that it was possibly in the program itself. The possibilities seemed to filter through the Andorian's head. Someone had made a rudimentary program that lacked the interface subroutines, but safety protocols would typically overwrite a basic interface if that were the case. It was possible that a timer had been tied to the program along or a certain resolution had to be reached. Her thoughts were interrupted by a strange man whom had come through the car's door. She had recognized the man known as Alec because he'd been with some other woman she didn't know. Strangers to the station, which suggested they could be responsible. Maybe, he was coming to check up on his handiwork. "Who're you?" she asked the El-Aurian. Though, her attention was quickly captured by the sound of the banshee now acting like a tuna fresh out of its net. As she flopped around on the floor, there was a hint of pride in Kova's eye as she had surmised the woman had been exposed as well. Of course, there was the small matter of the woman likely dying right before them. "Can one of you make her project bile?" Kova asked. The fact that she was flopping about suggested her body was likely trying to expel the toxin... or perhaps not. Human physiology was about as predictable as the words that came out of their mouths. [ Alec Trenzal - Orient Express] Alec dodged the crowd and took in the scene of the fallen man and the convulsing woman. With barely a glance at Kova, he said, Alec Trenzal. I'm a doctor. He dropped to his knees and got his arms around the woman, gripping his fist in his other hand and pulling up sharply to try to get her to vomit. She looked in bad shape, but without medical supplies, this was all he could do for now. Any chance someone could try to find me a first aid kit? Or a med kit? Alec grunted. [Callista Maybourne, aka The Flopping Banshee - Lounge Car, Orient Express]Her convulsions had begun to slow by the time the doctor reached her - she was dying, the poison that was rushing through her system taking a proper hold. Through her parted lips came a liquid, unlike the foam, but by no means anywhere near the amount that would match the probable contents of her stomach. Her head lolled downward, her chin to her chest. With her body still in the doctor's grasp, she stopped breathing. If anyone cared to look back at the place where the poor, unfortunate lover named Phoenix had fallen, they would see only an empty space where the man once lay.

|Dining car, Orient Express || lt. cmdr. Sven Aune|Oh for the love of God. The Ferangi had gone into hysterics. Typical. They were just shy of being as dramatic as Klingons. Maybe that's why the hated each other so much. In a constant competition of who can flail around more. Sven sighed. He didn't care much for this Ferangi, and his business of gambling. And given the situation, the last thing they needed was panicking people... That said, Bremmer made a declaration. She shouted to the car that everyone drop what they are doing. Stop eating. Okay, that's one way to get their attention he thought. And overall he was fine with that. But the next part made him groan. Don't panic... People had a tendency to hear only the last part. Subconsciously they miss the "don't" part and only hear "panic" She would need some more training. Right now though, he wasn't going to step in. He was curious to see how she would handle this. Perhaps Bremmer had the makings of deputy. He'd observe. The panicking Ferangi brought his mind back to reality. Sven didn't have much patience and his war time training kicked in. He popped the man in the lobes with enough force to drop him into a realm of sleepy-bye. He shook his fingers. He looked to Rayh. "This is a small space. No way out. The program is stuck. People are going to panic. They will get restless to know what's going on. They already know that there has been a poisoning."He signaled for Bremmer then spoke to her. "I want you to consolidate the civilians into a safe group. I'm putting you on point to ensure their safety. You're word is law right now." He was testing her further. How would she handle a bit of power and authority?
The next part made Sven feel really weird. He was ordering his ex-boss. "Ryah, I would like you to work with the serving staff to coordinate a removal of all the food and drink. Isolate it into a separate place so forensics can investigate it when we can get this train program stopped." [ Ozu Saya and Melihn Ryah] Saya lifted her eyes to the ceiling as the Ferengi began to shriek. Her ears weren't as sensitive as a full Vulcan's, but it the close proximity of the train car, it hurt. Be silent! she roared, unable to stand the squealing on top of the rising noise of the other passengers' panic. Ryah gave the chief engineer an impressed look at the volume of her command, then nodded in agreement with Sven's order/suggestion. She appreciated how he'd phrased it. On it, she said with a small, quick smile, striding off. Hey! she called, flagging down one of the servers. We need to gather all the food up, carefully, and secure it for testing. Can I get one person to help me collect the food and drink from the vicinity of the victims? I want to keep it separate from the rest if possible. [Brack the Legendary Unconscious - Dining Car, Orient Express]The wretched sound coming from him stopped abruptly when the fee-male's commanding voice cracked through the air. Under other circumstances, Brack the Legendary might have found it quite arousing, but he was about to die, so he was a little preoccupied. He gaped open-mouthed at her, and then the giant hyoo-mon with the tiny ears knocked him out. The ground rushed up to meet Brack's face and the comforting blackness closed in. After a few moments he curled up in the fetal position and sighed, rather contentedly.

[Sir Dugris "Doug" Zaman, MBE, PhD, JD, MBA, PE, RA - Dining Car, Orient Express]Sir Doug waved over a server. "Give this to the Doctor, Dr. Trenzal. Tell him it's from Sir Doug. Tell him to give it back when this is all over," the ancient man ordered, and the server nodded. The tricorder would soon make it to Alec. With that, the man refocused his attention on Shavan. "Designed this way? You think it's sabotage?" he asked rhetorically. "Maybe try to access the changelog of the program. If it was tampered with, that'll tell us."Sir Doug wasn't sure if the changelogs were written in natural language these days. For some reason, that wasn't a very universal approach. I thank you for what appears to be concern for our emotional state, but it would be more fitting to tell us the truth. That way we could attempt to help, or find someone who can.” She glanced at Charlie, hoping that she was right in guessing that the other young woman would feel the same way, despite her more apparent distress. “She is right. Assuming it is still functioning like a real train, the Express should eventually stop on its own without fuel, shouldn’t it?”When Charlie said something about this being a distraction, T’Laara had an even more pessimistic thought. “It could even be a distraction to keep the ranking Starfleet officers and community members trapped while something else happens outside of the holodeck.” She took a breath. “We might not know everything until we get out of here. So we may as well keep trying to investigate, and finish the story. It seems there is little other choice.”Tag Charlie Fox ________ [ Shavan Th’zhaar - Dining Car, Orient Express] Shavan briefly glanced up, watching the server leave with the tricorder, before renewing his focus on the PADD. “Right. We could just write our own, but without knowing more about the architecture of the program, we could create a rain of arrows that fall on us from the ceiling, from experience," he said. "However, programs' tolerances can get a lot higher when you reach a story point. I wouldn't be surprised if that's the case here too," Sir Doug then added. "That could be dangerous too. [ Left Ear to-Ennien] The Sivaoan looked up gratefully at the Betazoid as she delivered a standard medkit. Left Ear had been introduced to these and the basics of their use. Thank you, she exclaimed, taking the kit and setting it beside Reddington. The healer lamented not having her own medical scanner with her, but at least she knew this one would have a tricorder calibrated to a human. Her whiskers arched in amusement at the man's comment, now that she understood the reference, pleased that her rather rough ministrations had had enough effect for him to The tricorder was slightly awkward in her hands, but she was able to turn the probe in the proper direction and scan the man's body. Ccy-an-id-e? Left Ear tried to pronounce the word the device spat at her. The C came out as a hiss and she broke it into multiple syllables. In something he ingested. It also gave her a, very short, list of possible treatments. She looked through the kit, but didn't see anything that matched.

[ Bindi - Orient Express] Bindi was quick to acknowledge how Ryah wanted to collect the potentially tainted food and drink, understanding why they had to be careful and limit their contact with it, especially if the poison was transmitted via the skin. " Got it" the Bolian replied, before following Ryah to fetch napkins and helped her to gather up the food and drink from those who had been affected and Rani's tray. Once it had been secured behind the bar, Bindi then answered Ryah when she asked if someone could stay and keep the evidence safe. " I can as this is where I've been most of the night" she offered, rather than call one of the others. ****************** Leanna - Orient Express] Leanna smiled as Left Ear thanked her, the Sivaoan's gratefulness apparent as she accepted the medkit from her, just as Redd made his comment. It appeared that Left Ear had understood what he was referencing whilst the Betazoid was relieved to hear some of his usual compliments despite what he had gone through. " That's definitely a good sign if he's saying things like that" she commented, before he passed out again. When Left Ear then scanned him and mentioned Cyanide or that's what it sounded like and that he must of ingested it. Leanna wasn't aware of that particular poison but if he had ingested then that would mean his food was tampered with. " I wonder if it was something he ate ... wait .. he was drinking gin and eating caviar" she said as her mind began to process it all. " What does the tricorder say, is there anything else that I can help with?".

PooDoo, for her part, found her bag of treats and helped herself. She had become quite good at opening things over the years [Charlie Fox - Driver's Cab, Orient Express]Charlie felt cold suddenly. [ T’Laara - Driver’s Cab, Orient Express] T’Laara stared at the train conductor as he came over to speak with them. “It does not appear that everything will soon be fine. It seems there is little other choice.” [Charlie Fox - Driver's Cab, Orient Express]Exactly, Charlie thought when T'Laara pointed out that the train would surely stop itself if they stopped feeding it. The Vulcan put it much more succinctly than she might have been able to in that moment, so she found herself grateful that she'd decided to come. Charlie had less patience for certain behaviour these days, and when one was in mortal danger on a holodeck, calmer heads prevailing were very useful. "Yes, yes it would. Okay." The Conductor looked to be turning away to address one of the sooted-up engineers when he paused for a moment and looked back at T'Laara. "Y'know, for a dame, you're quite savvy." Then he moved off, yelling at the others. "All hands! Down tools!"Charlie's hand moved up to her face and she pinched the bridge of her nose, willing herself not to react. This was obviously a hologram, programmed to act like a gentleman conductor from the 1930s. She glanced over at the "savvy dame" and raised a brow, pulling her hand away. "We need a manifest, too!" She shouted after him. "This really would be the most perfect time for an attack, wouldn't it?" She didn't really require an answer, she already knew it. She hoped fervently that that wasn't the case. "Okay, we're detectives in a holonovel. From what we know, three people targeted, seemingly at random. Train brake system sabotaged. What's next?"

Isolate it into a separate place so forensics can investigate it when we can get this train program stopped." [Callista Maybourne, aka The Flopping Banshee - Lounge Car, Orient Express]Her convulsions had begun to slow by the time the doctor reached her - she was dying, the poison that was rushing through her system taking a proper hold. [ Cwm Eliska Bremmer - Orient Express ]
While seeing to people setting down their food, Eliska found herself signaled by her over-sized superior, and she wasted no time going to him to receive directions. After all, as a Crewman she was expected to show a degree of initiative, but when an officer called, well, she listened. Especially one she'd seen had a solid head on his shoulders like Mister Aune. Get the civvies under control, easy enough. "On it, boss," she acknowledged curtly before getting to work. Granted, there were a lot of civilians involved here, and some were pretty much unofficial station staff, between their expertise, initiative, or how closely they worked with Starfleet on a regular basis, so those they ignored; the rest, however, she started shepherding towards the aft-most sleeper car, though not before making sure it was completely empty, and that the door leading further back would be locked. It would be cramped, but at least it would get everyone in one space that could be locked up, and free her to make herself useful where Chief Melinh and Lieutenant Aune might want her. Though it had not been the easiest. Some cooperated; others had to be cajoled. One who'd enjoyed entirely too much to drink had to be convinced in a way even a whiskey-saturated brain could understand, and that one might need to get his elbow looked at by the docs once this would be all over, for she might have hyper-extended it a little... With the initial pass done, and the bulk of the flesh-and-blood civilians tucked away, she returned to find a woman who'd been screeching like a banshee collapse, also foaming at the mouth in the care of someone who had to be a doctor... but her companion, one of the early casualties, was gone. Looking around, she tried to see any evidence of bodies being collected, like a neat row of lumps covered with tableclothes, and saw none. "Chief Melinh," she called out, seeing how the woman was in charge of gathering samples and extrapolating body management might be part of that, "Did someone move the body that was here? One of the early casualties?"

[Alec Trenzal - Orient Express] Alec dodged the crowd and took in the scene of the fallen man and the convulsing woman. [ Kova Sh'qaleq - Lounge Car, Orient Express] It seemed to be a waiting game. All that Kova could do at the moment was watch. Actually, that was all anyone else could do save for the man that called himself a doctor. This... Alec. It seemed to be confirmed as much when the station's resident El-Aurian apparently sent over a tricorder. If they hadn't needed it to inspect this woman's health and whatever else, it was certainly something Kova wouldn't have minded taking a part. Somehow, she felt she could jury-rig something that could help them escape this moving holographic death trap. Of course, Kova's words began to prove truer than she would have liked as she watched the flopping banshee slow, some sort of discharge other than the foam seap from her mouth and then stillness. Kova stood there watching for a moment, almost expecting something else, but it didn't come. "You're not very good at this, are you?" Kova asked simply. The doctor was either inept, or the toxin worked faster than they thought. Kova was simply being thorough and eliminating possibilities. The Andorian sighed and looked around the car to notice something out of place... or gone rather. "Where did he go?!" Kova asked with a hint of urgency. She had checked his pulse, or so she thought. There hadn't been anything there. Of course, it was also possible that the man had been a hologram. The tricorder should be able to tell the difference. "Scan her. It may be wise to determine who is a hologram and who isn't." That coupled with the directive Chloe had been in trying to determine the toxin in play was critical. Especially, if they possibly had disappearing corpses to deal with.

This disappearing bodies added a new layer of complexity on top of the mystery. Kova meanwhile, seemed more concerned with berating the poor doctor who was only trying to do what he could to help, than solving the case. "We know the posion was in either the champagne or the caviar, so lets track down their origin," Chloe suggested before leaving and hurrying over to the bar. "I need to see your stock of champagne. Who served that table?" she asked the bartender.

[ Nix - Lounge Car] Her first day on the job in preparation for her new position at Delirium and already Nix had witnessed more than she ever anticipated since arriving at Front Ear with Jeffy. Even the words of caution and advice had done little to prepare her from people collapsing and dying right in front of her eyes. Not to mention the apparent disappearance of the man the woman had called Phoenix. Although she certainly didn't envy the Starfleet people who were trying to figure it out, but the appearance of Alex had reassured her a little, that her new work family were obviously keen to help as much as possible. However when she was approached by one of them a woman who she believed to be called Chloe from overhearing snatches of the conversation, Nix swallowed slightly, before she was asked about the Champagne. " It's just behind the bar here, each bar was given four boxes and it was me who served that table ..... excuse me, you don't think the Blue Beta is responsible do you?".She might be speaking out of term but if the bar was somehow involved, then she had to inform Leanna, not that she wanted to believe it.

|Orient Express || lt. cmdr. Sven Aune |Sven nodded as Rayh and Bremmer took to their tasks. And they did so with professionalism and haste. Hopefully this would help organize any efforts needed to solve the poisonings. But now something else had added to the mix. Bodies disappeared. Right into thin air. Given the size of the cars and the number of people, someone would have seen them move. Perhaps they were holograms? If that were the case, was the true target supposed to be Redd himself and the rest were distractions? He looked around and found Redd with Left-ear. He made his way over. "How is he?" he asked the Sivaoan. "Not to be overly paranoid, but Redd may be in more danger."Tag Ozu Saya for Left-Ear

[ Alex - Orient Express] Once he received the PADD from Sir Doug along with the instructions as to who to pass it onto, Alex quickly moved, although was careful not to knock into anyone or let the PADD be knocked out of his hand.

[Alec Trenzal - Lounge Car] Alec spared the barest hint of a glare at the Andorian as he reached one hand up to snatch the tricorder while lowering the unconscious woman to lie flat on the floor. A quick scan, then he leaned down, held the woman's nose, and blew several breaths into her mouth. Take the tricorder and test the food, but bring it right back if I call for it, he told Chloe without looking up. He continued administering rescue breaths until the woman gasped and sucked in a breath. Alec quickly rolled her to her side and did the tried-and-true fingers down the gullet to induce vomiting. He took a look around, hoping for some inspiration. It had been far too many years since he'd had to do medicine with so few resources. Something clicked - cyanide... Hey, he reached for the waiter who'd brought the tricorder to him. Gather up all of the, um, that cured beef appetizer. Bring some to me and some to the felinoid in the dining car, she's a healer. Tell her to feed it to anyone who starts to show symptoms. It's not a cure, but it may delay the progression long enough for us to get actual treatments.
No, damn it. Have her check it with the tricorder, first. Make sure it's not poisoned. He jerked a thumb at Chloe. She's not a hologram, he said to Kova. Do you have anything actually useful to contribute, or are you just here to criticize? Alec was never that short with people, but murders did tend to get to him.
