[ James Aubrey - Docking Ring -> Holodome, Starbase Sigma 4] James walked along with Nick, feeling quite surprised at how easy this whole espionage thing seemed to be. Perhaps he had chosen the wrong career path? Then all at once Nick's question - simple as it was - sent the young ensign into something of a mental tailspin. He cleared his throat and smiled awkwardly, his gaze shifting around the hall like he was looking for some kind of saving grace. The question was so simple, but - was it truly so straightforward? What could he tell people, if anything? Surely this sort of question wouldn't jeopardize important information? "Heh," he finally began to respond, "the basic stuff, I suppose... Not to be too disruptive or impolite. Not to make a scene and embarrass the reputation of the ship." He smirked and shrugged his shoulders. "Y'know how it goes."
[NPC - Nick Dixon - Docking Ring -> Holodome, Starbase Sigma 4]"Don't get drunk off your ass, don't make Starfleet look bad, and don't be seen with a Hooker. That goes without saying," Nick rephrased what the Ensign had said to him. Then, as a door came open, they entered the holodome. "What I know is that there's no chance Starfleet isn't using this to look around. The Alliance has been looking around the fleet's laundry hamper on your station for months, so it's really hard to believe that Matt Harmon's not trying to even the score," he added. Mr. Dixon himself had no skin in the game. What he did have was a desire to know.
Tag James Aubrey [ Avi Moz | Private, Nyberrite Alliance | Docking Ring, Sigma 4 ]When the details of the joint exercises originally came down, that their Starfleet counterpart was none other than Frontier station's satellite the USS Mac, Avi wasn't bothered. She'd be stuck in the bowels of the Soteria with no chance of bumping into familiar faces. Too bad no one told the chief engineer who so enjoyed her greasy crown. "Moz, need you back on the station.""Ramanathi put me here." "Well, I told you to go back to the station. Unless you want the Brick?"It was hard to argue with a poorly-veiled threat of torture. Avi left her tools were she was working and made her way back to the station. Back on the station with the entire journey all to herself from the docking ring to the engineering sections, she lit up one of her worst cigars. She hummed some vulgar song until she came upon Dixon talking to a Starfleeter. She wouldn't have stopped because Dix was a royal pain and Starfleet, ugh. But something caught her long ear. "...Matt Harmon..." She sauntered over and asked her cigar on the floor. "Heyo, buckos," she greeted without explanation. "Who'd you find, Dix?" Judith Eastman (Nick) James Aubrey [ James Aubrey - Holodome, Starbase Sigma 4] Ensign Aubrey couldn't believe how easy this all seemed - and, unbeknownst to him, he had no idea how quickly things could get more complicated. He had never been a people-person; never been one to charm a room. If Matt Harmon had been a fly-on-the-wall during some of James's social faux-paus at the academy, perhaps James never would've been assigned this mission. James took far too long to respond to Nick's comment about Starfleet's intentions - in fact, he nearly threw up when Dixon mentioned Matt Harmon by name. He half-coughed, half-laughed, but it would have been a clear sign to most that Dixon had hit onto some kind of truth. James was so slow to speak, Avi was already interrupting when he had begun to respond. "Uh - well, I'm not sure -" James turned his head to acknowledge the stranger - her name was Avi Moz, though of course James didn't know that. "I'm - my name is James Aubrey. I'm an ensign on the USS Mac. ... Pleasure to meet you." He forced a wide smile, unnatural and entirely formal.

[Battle Bridge, USS Mac] K'Dex frowned slightly at the question. "Honestly, yes. The workerbees weren't designed for fast movement, it's only utilizing small thrusters. The navigational system installed means it can be remotely piloted, but that doesn't mean it can catch up with a star ship. Add in the fact that we have to punch a hole in the shields, and it's a more daunting task than I first imagined. We'd have to get close to eject them, or eject them and wait for their ship to come close enough to be able to catch up. One of the scientists suggested magnetic boosters, but we didn't have time for it. They're designed for working on stationary objects, or to attach to a moving ship before working. At best, we'll get some range on them with the cargo transporter, but it'll be one at a time." K'Dex said apologetically. For as interesting as an idea as it had been, the flaws had been pointed out once he had joined the crews working on it. He brought up simulated shield, hull, and system integrity screens on his console, and shrunk their displays to sit on the left side, before pulling up the Cargo Bay 2 cargo transporter. The first thing to be loaded would be the 'spy' probe. The rest of the probes for the navigational grid were deployed as they pulled away from the station. "Navigational Grid status optimal."[Lt. Isaiah Quinn - Battle Bridge, USS Mac] Isaiah quickly made it to his station. The Battle Bridge itself was more sleek and spartan. Honestly, he wasn't a fan of it. He understood the tactical implications of its location, but its use was always a last resort. A sign that peace was no longer a viable option. Granted, this was a training exercise. And he'd seen the crew step up in a number of ways in volunteering strategies and expertise. He ran his hands over his panel, and ran a few last moment diagnostics. "Science ready." he reported in line with the other stations. His ears were still ringing with Vasser's final words, bidding them good hunting as Commander Eastman began issuing orders. It was a single phaser blast. Clearly, both of these commanders were trying to get a feel for one another. Likely, neither wanting to tip their hand too early. It seemed this conflict would be more cerebral than anyone anticipated. Though, that could change very quickly.
[NPC - Colonel Helena Vasser - Bridge, NSS Soteria] Eastman had responded with a curt reply. Vasser's lips curled slightly, as the last thing she had been paying attention to was Eastman's words. Suddenly, a single phaser blast arched from the Mac, striking the Soteria's shields. Vasser felt a slight trimmer. Clearly, the program was operating as expected, causing the internal dampeners to fluctuate and simulate a direct hit. As expected, a report of direct hit and no damage rang from her tactical officer. Vasser remained in her chair, unshaken and cool, yet still processing the reports coming in. "Helm, axial rotation 75 degrees, heading 3-1-2-mark 7. Tactical, full run of ventral phaser cannons. Aim for the starboard nacelle." Vasser watched as the screen came to life with the arc of several phaser bursts spanning the closing distance of their ships. That could possibly give them a little incentive. "There's an itch... let's see if they scratch."The Parliament was likely still waiting, and possibly growing impatient. Regardless, Vasser wasn't going to give the order sooner than necessary. The Mac's reaction would likely determine when that would recur. For now, it was a dance between the two vessels. And if the Mac didn't want to lead.... [ LT(JG) Joshua Niles - Battle Bridge, USS Mac ]
"Yes Ma'am," Niles acknowledged when he was given the order. He was none too keen about the notion of having to cross the entire range of Soteria's torpedor range before having a shot at them, and he was to keep it simple and crude. General targeting, every erg of power he could squeeze out of the weapons in that first pass. So, he watched the range counting down. First he crossed the threshold where the powered range of torpedoes would be sufficient given their closing speeds. Then the nominal three million kilometers of range from rest. Two million. One million. Five hundred thousand. Three hundred and fifty thousands... Then, there it was, maximum effective range and he let fly, just like a full on rookie, from maximum range without doing anything to refine his aim; just hit the Soteria was the plan. His fire struck, but before he could report the effects, the Mac, in the throes of the simulation program, shook and bucked under simulated energy transfer, and he was quick to call back. "Direct hit; aft starboard shields down twenty-eight percent, but holding." As the ships were opening up the distance after the initial pass, he let fly a few more phaser blasts aft, as to keep the Nyberrite vessel occupied. If we can come back around, I could give them a minimum-range full spread of quantum torpedoes; that ought to get their attention." [Battle Bridge - USS Mac] There was a look of personal acknowledgement towards Isaiah as her beloved reported that Science was ready, before Judy's exchange with Vasser and the orders that she gave to signal the start of the game. As much as this was a simulation, there was a moment where the CMO thought about breakfast and the conversation she had shared with her Boyfriend and whether that off feeling would continue or not. No she had to think about her team and focusing on the positive rather than let her doubts take control. So when Mabel then turned to her, the younger woman's pride was evident as she told Thea about the model to simulate casualties and how it would surprise her department. " I look forward to seeing it in action" she replied, hoping that her team wouldn't get caught out, but then again there was only so much she could train them for. However it would be a case of wait and see, especially as K'Dex then Niles acknowledged Judy's orders which was followed by a retaliation by the Soteria, shaking the Mac in the process. Experience had Thea holding on securely as Niles confirmed the simulated damage, before giving a suggestion for their next move. For some reason Thea didn't think Vasser would want to be defeated but had faith in the crew that they wouldn't give up either. So to take her mind off it, she turned to the console in front of her and began checking in with her department, ready to report any casualties. [Cmdr. Judith Eastman(-Williams) & Ens. Mabel Henriksen - Bridge, USS Mac]And just like that, they were off to the races. "Well, Ensign, that's what we get for making our equipment do things it doesn't want to. We'll have to make it work," Judy replied to K'Dex, noting the issue but not letting it weigh on her irrationally. After all, she hadn't gotten to where she was by riding the smoothest seas. "Let's hold steady for now. I want to come back around, nothing too fancy yet. When we're able, let's go with that full volley of quantums, and follow that up with a phaser hit. Pick a spot on their primary hull, so we can get the workbees on it later," she ordered. "And standby to send some extra power to the shields, but don't do it just yet."They were still going to affect foolishness for this pass, but there was a plan in play. Judy felt a need to make sure the crew knew that. "We'll get them quickly, forcefully, and elegantly, just as soon as the time is right," she reassured. For medical, there would be a report of one simulated light injury, an unfortunate crewman who had slipped after the hit. The simulated crewman, reflecting the accuracy of the simulation, had a simulated GLT (Gagh, Lettuce, and Tomato) sandwich, and this fact would be accounted for in the form of the hologram in sickbay.

"The welcome party missed this kid."And maybe Nick should have as well. Or maybe not. Time will tell. "Are you here for the Holodome, or just patrolling, miss..." the man then inquired.

Tag Isaiah Quinn , Ozu Saya , K'Dex , Joshua Niles , Thea Baker [Battle Bridge, USS Mac] K'Dex checked the power systems as the first few hits came across the Mac. "Their fire was targeting starboard nacelle. Preparing to transfer tertiary system power to compensate for loss. Repair teams being sent to the emitters. With permission, I'd like to try and drop the spy probe between the torpedo spread. That close, and that much damage might create enough of a temporary hole for the probe to fly through. If Science plots an estimated trajectory, we might get it to slip between the torpedo spread and to their hull. If not, we would lose the probe." K'Dex reported, his claws tapping a few commands. For now, there wasn't much affected, with just the first pass. Soon though, they'd have to redirect around damaged areas. Taking damage directly to the starboard nacelle would be majorly concerning, as the area there was cramped, and difficult for repair teams, not to mention highly dangerous during combat, even simulated. "Simulation systems seem fully in control." He passed as an afterthought.

[PO2 Bav Th'cherreq - Plaza Level]"Don't have anything better to do. Haven't had any other job offers that sound tolerable," he stated, hinting at his openness towards working for the Alliance. Provided the right incentives, of course. Kaya seemed a bit up herself, boasting about being right all the time. Pft. She was an upstart who just happened to have gotten lucky and progressed quickly in her career since arriving on Front Ear. S'Riia then had a very odd reaction to Neema's usage of the word 'mate', leaving Bav baffled but amused. He let out a smirk and a chuckle and shook his head at her. [ P02 Kaya Som | Kirby's, Sigma 4 ]When Neema asked if their lives had been endangered in response to Kaya's thinly veiled reference to Josh Niles's guns-a-blazing, Kaya rolled her eyes. "Yeah, who knows. It's confidential." The second drink arrived and she wasted no time. She knew it was against protocol to get lit up, but her dissolution with the whole thing was all over her posture. She'd rather be in a good mood, though, and enjoy this time with S'Riia and even the grouchy Bav. But then something about S'Riia's mate? It came out of the blue and S'Riia reacted like someone had spilled cold water down her back! Kaya burst out with laughter in her raspy alto nearly spilling her drink. "Who's your mate!" she cried. "Since when do you have a mate!" [NPC - PO1 S'Riia - Kirby's, Starbase Sigma 4] S'Riia was still rather disheveled by the revelation assertion Neema was making. "There is no mate! S'Riia insisted as the questions began to mount and the attention was clearly upon her now. She looked at Kaya's whose interest in the change of topic was more than apparent. Even Bav's grumpiness seemed to be cast aside in lieu of this. Those intelligence types always got giddy when it came to revealing secrets. S'Riia looked back at Neema. "Really, there isn't a mate. If there was a mate, I'm pretty sure I would know!" The security officer hoped her words had put all this ridiculousness behind them.
[NPC - 2nd Lieutenant Neema - Kirby's, Plaza Level Starbase Sigma 4] Neema tilted her head as she looked at Bav. He was a very confusing individual. His entire demeanor seemed to project disinterest. She began to wonder if all Andorians were this way. She hadn't met one until now. Still, there was something else. "You want me to offer you an employment opportunity?" she stated with a bit of uncertainty. "Unfortunately, I'm afraid I'm not authorized to do so, but I could always escort you to our local recruitment office if you wish."Her attention then shifted to Kaya. It seemed the young Trill wasn't in the mood to discuss whatever had her moody. Though, it seemed the more she drank, the more her mood alleviated. "I do not wish for you to reveal anything that would jeopardize your posting," Neema said. Her eyes watched as the replacement drink was set in front of Kaya. "Um... if you prefer... the synthehol offered here is an excellent facsimile of our real drinks. If you... wanted to ensure you don't get into any trouble upon returning to your vessel."The Caitian's insistence that she had no mate confused Neema and made it seem all the more certain. "I'm sorry. I believe I misspoke. I did not mean to infer that you had taken a husband. Merely that you enjoy passionate coitus with a tall man, with pasty skin and dark--" Neema quickly found herself silenced by a furred hand covering her mouth. "How do you know that?!" said S'Riia who was now leaning over the table, holding her furred hand over the mouth of their hostess. S'Riia had told absolutely no one... not even Kaya about any of this. Though, she could feel that she had an audience, not only from others staring in their direction, but more immediately in the form of Kaya and Bav. She pulled her hand from Neema's mouth and settled back into her seat. "I don't have a mate. It was.... They were just dreams," she confessed. S'Riia finally lifted her head back towards Neema. "Which still doesn't explain how you know any of this. It's like you just... plucked it straight from my mind." [PO2 Bav Th'cherreq - Kirby's, Plaza Level]"Nah, nah, I'm not looking for a job offer," he said dismissively. He sure as hell wasn't going to join up as a recruit like the rest of the rabble. If he was going to switch to the Alliance he wanted some special treatment. Otherwise, what's the point of defecting? His attention was quickly changed to a far more interesting topic. S'Riia's apparent secret love life, her 'mate' described in a way strikingly similar to Harmon. He once again let out a hearty laugh as squirmed and protested. "HA! Do tell, S'Riia, do tell!" he asked fishing for more details.

[ PO2 Kaya Som | Kirby's, Sigma 4 ]Neema had helpfully suggested synthahol, but Kaya waved it off. The exercises were going to last hours and by the time they were over everyone was going to be ready for a shower and sleep. Neema was up to something but S'Riia had Kaya howling now. "A Dream Boyfriend is not better!" Kaya laughed and pulled playfully at S'Riia's arm. "Tell us, tell us, shh, shh, we're all friends here. Tell us about passionate coitus with Mr. Tall Dark and Pasty. No, no, don't be ashamed, it's natural, it's..." Kaya disintegrated into giggles. Isaiah Quinn (S'Riia, Neema) Matthew Harmon (Bav)

"Simulation systems seem fully in control." He passed as an afterthought. [Lt. Isaiah Quinn - Battle Bridge, USS Mac] Lt. Quinn continued to man his station. He listened Lt. Niles called out the damage from the Soteria's last run. It appeared that Vasser may have picked out a target. Though, he still was of the mind that she had something a bit less obvious in mind. His eyes continued go over his sensor readings, and he noticed the Nyberrite vessel beginning to arc for another pass.
[NPC - Colonel Helena Vasser - Bridge, NSS Soteria] Vasser felt the slight shutter of the Soteria rocking once again, marking the damage that it had taken. Aft shields down 32%, and it seemed four of her crew would be forced to sit out the rest of the exercise, while another three had to stand by for medical attention. "Helm, initiate pattern Delta-six," she ordered. The Soteria began to come around for another pass, but also dipped along the z-axis so that it could come up for another pass at the Mac from below. It's smaller size, compared to the Sovereign-class vessel, made it much easier for it to turn about. "Captain Mauroos," Vasser said into the air after pressing her comm. "Parliament is in session."
[NPC - Captain Mauroos - Soteria --> Fighter Owl-1] As soon as the order was given, launch commenced. Four fighter craft launched from the Soteria's bays. They quickly fell into a single formation, waiting for their go ahead, already knowing the signal. "You have your target. Stay tight, constant revolutions. The closer we are, the more difficult for their phasers to establish a lock," Mauroos said to the rest of his team. Then, as if on cue, the fighters thrust forward, arching out to come at the Mac from the port side. Their weapons would largely be ineffective against the shields of the Mac. Their phasers barely an annoyance, but they were packing a small number of photon torpedos, which if coordinated could certainly get the Mac's attention. For the time being, they seemed set to nip at the portside ventral phaser banks.
[Lt. Isaiah Quinn - Battle Bridge, USS Mac] Isaiah's console chimed to life, as more of Vasser's strategy apparently began to take shape. "Multiple fighter craft have emerged from the Soteria," Quinn announced. "Moving to our port side. The Soteria itself is still making another run from starboard."
[NPC Colonel Helena Vasser - Bridge, NSS Soteria] Vasser remained in her seat, never taking her eyes off the main viewer. She continued to announce her orders aloud. "Helm, increase speed to one-third impulse, but keep a healthy distance. The last thing we want is to run into is a right cross. Tactical, run phasers and a spread of photon torpedoes. Ops... is Banks' program still operable?" There was a brief confirmation. Vasser then searched her memory and began to type a brief set of instructions to send to ops. "This system only. We want them to scratch, but not too hard." And certainly not yet. "Mauroos, stay tight on the Mac. Don't give them any daylight," Vasser ordered. She simply had to hope that tactical would mind their shots. The Parliament were among the best pilots, but it was all too easy for mistakes to happen in the heat of battle.

[PO2 Bav Th'cherreq - Kirby's, Plaza Level]"Nah, nah, I'm not looking for a job offer," he said dismissively. [NPC - PO1 S'Riia - Kirby's, Starbase Sigma 4] S'Riia wasn't expecting the revelation of what was nothing more than a crush, and an unsolicited dream to become the prevailing topic of interest, yet here she was. It had even solicited a laugh from Bav as the Andorian grew interested. She could feel Kaya tugging on her arm, in a giggling fit trying to pry the information from her furry lips. Though, a second look at the Andorian made that feel like a very ill advised decision. If anyone could put together that description it was him. "It's really nothing to fuss about," S'Riia went on. "I plan to forget all about it, and have no intention of him ever finding out." Hell, did he even know if she existed? Probably not. Besides, their paths rarely crossed and he likely had absolutely no interest. The last thing S'Riia wanted was to be on the end of a conversation about professionalism in the workplace form him. "Besides," S'Riia continued, "I'm more interested in learning how you know... what you know." S'Riia was still quite selective about her words, not wanting to drop any inadvertent hints.
[NPC - 2nd Lieutenant Neema - Kirby's, Plaza Level Starbase Sigma 4] Neema watched the others. She was actually a bit pleased with herself as it seemed the Starfleet officers were beginning to have a good time. The Andorian laughed... which seemed a bit more intimidating than his typical broody nature. He claimed he wasn't interested in joining as a recruit, but Neema still didn't feel that he'd dismissed the notion completely. And Kaya, whom had forgone the suggestion of synthehol seemed to be in much brighter spirits. And while she seemed to find S'Riia's mystery mate humorous, she still seemed supportive of her friend. The one drawback of all the progress was that it seemed to be at the expense of the security officer's comfort. "I do not understand," Neema said as she sipped from her Shirley Temple once more. She was perplexed by confusion S'Riia seemed to be showing. "My profile was sent to your ship. It's customary that all junior negotiators present their credentials to the party with whom they will be interacting. I thought I was very thorough at presenting myself. I kept it under the typical limitation of 5000 words."Neema's eyes traveled to each of them, with an apologetic look on her face. "Perhaps there was some sort of glitch in its transmission," Neema said. She hung her head slightly. "I mean, it's not like you all didn't read it.

[ James Aubrey - Holodome, Starbase Sigma 4] [...] James turned his head to acknowledge the stranger - her name was Avi Moz, though of course James didn't know that. "I'm - my name is James Aubrey. I'm an ensign on the USS Mac. ... Pleasure to meet you." He forced a wide smile, unnatural and entirely formal. [NPC - Nick Dixon - Holodome, Starbase Sigma 4] Nick shook his head, making his droopy jowls quiver a little with it. Last thing he needed was for the Nyberrites to think he was too tight with the fleet (or vice versa). "I'm just entertaining a guest. There's not a whole lot to it," he explained. "The welcome party missed this kid."And maybe Nick should have as well. Or maybe not. Time will tell. "Are you here for the Holodome, or just patrolling, miss..." the man then inquired. [ Private Avi Moz | Docking Ring, Sigma 4 ]'Miss?' Avi openly scowled at Dixon then shook her head. Ensign Aubrey here was as good as a hologram with his tidy uniform and polite greeting. Great gods. She took another long heavy draw off the cigar. "They let Starfleet onto station? For this?" she asked, although the implications were clear. Either the communication hadn't made it down to Avi's level or she hadn't cared to listen. She'd assumed the war games would be confined to the ships, but apparently not. Great. "I'm due in Engineering," she said. She looked Aubrey up and down again, then said to Dixon, "don't lose him. Chromar thinks there's a spy." She barked a laugh, clapped Aubrey hard on the shoulder and turned to go. Judith Eastman (Dixon), James Aubrey

[Battle Bridge - USS Mac] With some departments in more demand than others as the simulation dictated who's attention it focused more on. Thea did her part by continuing to monitor the effects of said exercise on not only the crew's welfare but who had become a fake yet fully recognised casualty and those who would now be forced out of the battle. Although that didn't stop the CMO from listening to those around her, as they gave reports whilst the ship shock accordingly and it appeared as though Vasser wasn't above playing fair when Isaiah then announced that the other ship had launched fighters, before coming round for another pass. The Colonel was definitely out to win and whilst Thea understood the nature of the game and what each side would potentially gain from it, that didn't stop her from thinking that the Alliance didn't care how they obtained it. Of course it was just a thought but just because they couldn't match them in that way, didn't meant that the Mac would just take it. However for the moment her attention was attuned to her readouts, her first casualty a crewman who had slipped, as well as helped himself to a Gagh, Lettuce & Tomato sandwich, which nearly brought up her breakfast at the thought of it. A slight shudder followed but at least she was impressed by the accuracy of it all and the hologram that was now residing in Sickbay. That was light compared to the other information she received including a Petty Officer with plasma burns and another with a broken leg. Three so far and Thea doubted that it would be the last. " Three simulated casualties so far, one light the other two slightly more serious with plasma burns and a broken leg".

[ LT(JG) Joshua Niles - Battle Bridge, USS Mac ][...]His fire struck, but before he could report the effects, the Mac, in the throes of the simulation program, shook and bucked under simulated energy transfer, and he was quick to call back. "Direct hit; aft starboard shields down twenty-eight percent, but holding." As the ships were opening up the distance after the initial pass, he let fly a few more phaser blasts aft, as to keep the Nyberrite vessel occupied. If we can come back around, I could give them a minimum-range full spread of quantum torpedoes; that ought to get their attention." [Battle Bridge - USS Mac] [...] So when Mabel then turned to her, the younger woman's pride was evident as she told Thea about the model to simulate casualties and how it would surprise her department. " I look forward to seeing it in action" she replied, hoping that her team wouldn't get caught out, but then again there was only so much she could train them for. [Battle Bridge, USS Mac] K'Dex checked the power systems as the first few hits came across the Mac.
She was going to give the Fleeters a little bit of chaos. Since it wouldn't do to beam away someone doing an important job, at least not yet, Robyn locked onto someone at an auxiliary station on the battle bridge. With a snort of laughter, she beamed Mabel Henriksen away from her station and into the intelligence officer's office. [Matthew Harmon - Chief Intelligence Officer's Office, USS Mac]
Harmon had been observing Aubrey's painfully terrible attempt at infiltration. It was going about as well as expected. Avi, soon made a surprise appearance potentially complicating things. It had been Harmon's intention that Aubrey would be captured, mess up and feed the false information Harmon had given him to the Alliance. The goal was to confuse the Alliance and potentially provoke an escalation from their end that could further be used as ammunition by Harmon in his arguments to Command against them. Now, all he could do was wait and painfully see what Avi would do. Ideally, she would turn Aubrey in. But it was possible she would try and help him.
As he was left with that thought, he was suddenly interrupted by the unexpected appearance of Mabel in his office. "Mabel," he said with a deadpan expression. "I take it you aren't here by choice?" When it was confirmed that it was unclear who had her transporter there, he rolled his eyes and tapped his commbadge. =/\= Harmon to Bridge. Shut down transporter systems. Find out where they're being accessed from. =/\= He really could have done with Kaya and her skills right about now, but she was on the station. He was then contacted by Security. =/\= Security to Commander Harmon, Bridge. There's something going on in Engineering....I don't know what, we may have an imposter? =/\==/\= I'm on my way. =/\=He stood up, took a phaser from under his desk and turned to Mabel. "Care to join me, Mabel?" the Commander's assistance was quite skilled in many areas. She was often underestimated, but Harmon had learned not do so, with some urging from Chloe, admittedly. [Main Engineering]"What's going on?" he demanded as he entered Engineering. "What is that noise?" he asked with frustration as he heard some noise coming from behind the walls and panels.
"That's why we called, sir," a nervous young Security crewman said. "We thought it was suspicious and were told to contact you if we found anything suspicious."
"This isn't normal, is it?" he double checked with one of the Engineers that was standing around. They shook their heads, puzzled about the causes. "Then get these panels off and figure out what's going on!"
"But sir..."
"Fine then, I'll do it myself if you won't," he was in a particularly irritable mood. He grabbed a tool from a workbench and began removing panels from where the sounds were coming from, doing a deliberately poor job in the hope the engineers would soon do as he had asked out of fear of Harmon breaking something. They were lucky he didn't just start shooting at the walls. After a moment or two, predictably the engineers took over. Eventually, they discovered some small walking devices. "Find out what they are, make sure there are no more hiding," he told the Engineers before turning to the nervous security officer. "Inform the rest of your department about this and make sure they look out for if the same thing is happening elsewhere." He then headed for a small side office and commandeered it, accessing the security footage of Engineering from the past hour or so. "Let's see what we can find, Mabel..."

[NPC - Ens. Mabel Henriksen - Harmon's Office]Mabel's initial look of bafflement at the sudden transporting turned to embarrassment as she materialized in Harmon's office. "No, Sir. I was just on the bridge, and... I'm sorry, Sir," she apologized profusely for what was probably not her fault. "Yes, Sir. I'll come with. I did okay in my engineering classes."[Main Engineering]Mabel stood back, part out of caution and part out of trepidation, as Commander Harmon seemed to be on the verge of losing it. At the very least, she supposed she'd be reporting a lot to Judy. Speaking of Judy... =A= "Henriksen to Eastman. I'm fine. I'm in Main Engineering," =A= she reported. Now, she refocused on Harmon and the damage he was doing. "You can run the new facial recognition software that Ch... Ensign Hudson requested last quarter. It came through just before we left the station, so we just have to install it and run it," she suggested. "It's impressive stuff, from what I can tell, but she's the real expert."There were some talking points, some buzzwords that both Chloe and Judy seemed to understand relating to this software, but Mabel didn't.
