[ CPO Kaya Som, PO2 Fournier, PO3 Djigo | Room 5 ]'Chief, you're on me.' Quinn's voice brought Kaya to the surface enough for her to return his glance and get to her feet along with Yande and trudge on in a self-protective haze. Out of the transport, down a gangway, into a hangar, and through a series of featureless hallways and into a cold bare room marked 5. Kaya hesitated in the doorway. It wasn't a Starfleet brig with force fields and cots. It was a storage room. A tomb. A guard dumped Left Ear on the floor, then locked them all in. They were alone, for the moment. From behind her eyes, Kaya looked around at the others from behind her own eyes. She could hear her lungs in her ears. Everybody else all looked so calm. How could they all be so calm? Why wasn't anybody doing anything? But Kaya had to keep the ever-increasing pressure at bay. With a thousand-yard stare, she put her back against the wall and slid down to sitting. If she said another word or moved another inch, she felt certain she'd explode and never pull the pieces back together. Meanwhile Yande Djigo went to check on Left Ear. As best she could, rolling the Sivoan into a more comfortable position. Étienne followed the lead of the officers in getting Mara Rexan where she needed to be. "I'm not even supposed to be here," he said with an uncomfortable laugh. "I switched with someone. Believe that?"Yande for Ozu Saya (Left-Ear); Fournier for Isaiah Quinn , Joshua Niles , Jovireh Velal, Thea Baker (Mara) [ Left Ear to-Ennien - Serenity - Room of Doom] Petty Officer Djigo was quite unfortunate that she was so close when Left Ear began to rouse from unconsciousness because she came up off the floor with a snarl that echoed around the bare room, teeth opened wide to snap at her captor. Petty Officer Djigo was fortunate that for a brief moment, the Sivaoan's sense of smell told her that this wasn't the one who'd knocked her out and stopped her just shy of taking off the petty officer's face. Left Ear threw herself back to the floor, only then realizing that her arms and legs were restrained. She began to struggle, keening in panic, her tail whipping wildly as she pulled against the cuffs. Because of how her body and shoulders were built, her hands were bound in front, but it wasn't the least bit comforting. She couldn't see or hear anything that was happening around her as her panic rose. ---------- Tag Kaya Som, soft tags to everyone

[ Mara Rexan & Amira Leran - Unknown Location, Serenity] Mara could hear the whispers and the various quiet conversations going on around her. However unless she was spoken to directly, didn't focus properly on what was being said even if she had a hunch as to what it was about. From how the brutes had handled the one named Left Ear and battling her own emotions, Mara tried to sort through it all and to not let this break her completely. That was easier said than done when Jaggah appeared and warned the Fleeters before grabbing her. Closing her eyes in fear at what he was going to do. Mara didn't dare open them again until she realised where he had took her and found herself bound to the table. Taking deep breaths, Mara attempted to not think about what they were planning as another person was brought in and Jaggah revealed her fate, forcing Mara to close her eyes again. ***************** As for Amira, she had learned to hide her pain and anguish, keeping it bottled up within as she pretended to let them think that they had completely broken her. She may be injured and barely alive but her mind was still very much active. So as Thammirc carried her, she didn't attempt to fight back as she knew what would happen and besides why risk exposing her secret. No it was best to just play along, bile rising in her throat along with anger at the way Jaggah spoke about her and used her as an example. Then when she was thrown to the floor, Amira felt winded and needed a few minutes to get accustomed to these very familiar surroundings again.

[Bridge - USS Mac, Enroute to Serenity]
With warp drive still not fully functional and not wanting to risk any further damage. Thea had decided to start the journey back to Serenity on maximum impulse for the time being, her desire to find out the truth and rescue the away team very much evident as she resumed sitting in the centre chair. Prior to her return, Thea had used the newly repaired comms to put out a warning to all ships in the vicinity about the Avalon as well as asking for help as she had a feeling that she was going to need it.
Help had come in the form of the USS Absolute, a frigate who they were to rendezvous with just outside of the Moriah System before making their way to the Colony. Still convinced that this was all deliberate and that it wasn't some random attack in order to draw them away from Serenity. Thea had spent the time, trying to get more information on the Avalon as well as coordinate a rescue mission with Security and their counterparts on the Absolute.
In fact they were currently going over the planet itself looking for anything that might make things a liitle easier to locate the away team. Although until they arrived all they could was plan, organise and for Thea to assuage the guilt she felt over leaving her team despite not knowing that it was all some elaborate trap.

[ CPO Kaya Som, PO3 Yande Djigo ]To Yande's surprise Left Ear came to in violent shock and Yande pulled away. "Shh! You're okay!" Yande whispered. "We're all here, you're fine." But what could she really say? All they could do was try to keep their heads, stay together, and pray for some break in their captivity. Across the room, Jovireh tried to pull Kaya from the secret space she'd made for herself. Jovireh's words were as good as anyone could manage, a message meant to give Kaya some pride and purpose. The words had a long way to travel before they found her. 'Best Engineer they had'? Best in the room, maybe. A room with no beds. A dreadful interior design choice that signaled they weren't long for it. Kaya lifted her eyes to Jovireh, a hint she was capable of resurfacing. But just then, the door slammed open again and Kaya sucked in breath, drew up her knees, and buried her face. She shut out the commotion of Jaggah's handling of Rexan and the introduction of another prisoner. Not long after that, unexpectedly, they were all left alone again. She lifted her head and looked to where others were standing. And she registered for the first time the handcuffs. They'd been there the whole time of course, a constant impediment, but since they were behind her back, she hadn't thought to look at them. Kaya regarded Jovireh and swallowed the dryness in her throat. She shifted to an easier kneeling position. "Can you turn around?" she asked Jovireh quietly. "So I can see the handcuffs." They looked older, more Alpha than Beta quadrant in design as far as Kaya could tell. Two cuffs where held rigidly together by a solid bridge. The cuff closures were concealed inside this bridge, and the bridge itself had a large seam down the middle. Jovireh's were scraped up around this seam. "I don't know," she muttered. "It's gotta be remote release, or a contact key. There's no keyhole or jack or switch or anything. I think they come apart in the middle." [Lt Shavan Th’zhaar - Room 5] Shavan did his best to ignore the growing strain and discomfort in his arms as they carried Mara Rexan into Room 5. With the task completed, he leaned against a wall but did not sit; he wanted to stay on his feet and be ready for anything. He then watched in cold silence as the two men tied Mara to the table, and then one left but quickly returned with another prisoner. While the others started to take advantage of being left alone, he looked grimly around the sparse room, thinking hard and looking for anything at all that could be useful. After a moment, his gaze returned to the woman they had just brought in. He wondered what they wanted with a scientist, and if he could use that as a starting point to bargain with them. However, Shavan was no counsellor, and frustrating as it was he might make things much worse; another Orion man was probably the last person she would talk to. But they might not have much time, and everyone else was occupied. Trying to look as non threatening as possible, he crouched down some distance away from her. “Hey… I’m Lieutenant Th’zhaar, I’m a Starfleet officer and scientist too. What did they want from you?” tag Thea Baker (Amira), soft tags everyone

{Quoted Posts} [ Mara Rexan - Unknown Location, Serenity] Mara nodded as Petty Officer Velal spoke to her, unable to say anything other than nod due to the overwhelming emotions going on inside. She was right, Mara had to focus and appreciated that they didn't hate her enough to leave her behind. Not that Jaggah would let them as she knew what he was capable of and was no doubt enjoying seeing her being degraded and humiliated like this. As others came to help, Mara wished she could tell them how thankful she was, that's until some of the team spoke out and she received the punishment after Niles was struck. Biting down hard, breaking the skin on her bottom lip so as not to scream with the pain of the rifle in the back of her knee. Mara was left feeling lightheaded but she tried not to think of it as she got into a sitting position before the others carried her into this room 5. There was another nod of thanks once they reached the almost empty and sterile room but wasn't sure if her now being upright was a good thing or not. Daring not to speak just yet as she knew that the goons wouldn't be too far behind. [ Left Ear to-Ennien - Serenity] Left Ear remained unconscious throughout the short journey in the transport. While her captor enjoyed watching the bound Starfleeters struggling to carry Mara to the designated room, he decided to throw his feline captive over his shoulder again to carry her into Room 5. She was kind of fluffy, despite a slight roughness to the fur, and he wondered if Jaggah would let him keep the felinoid for a pet. For the time being, however, he dumped Left Ear into an awkward-looking pile of limbs on the bare floor and strode out of the room. "I'm not even supposed to be here," he said with an uncomfortable laugh. "I switched with someone. Believe that?" [ LT Joshua Niles - Serenity Colony, Undisclosed location]No sooner had he spoken that Niles found himself regretting his choice. With a brutal impact, his vision exploded with a bright light and pain shot through his entire skull. He was not quite certain he he had wound up there, but when his vision cleared he was down to one knee on the uncompromising floor, more pain radiating from that joint, and when he spat to clear his mouth of liquid that had been accumulating there, a gobbet of blood accompanied by a shard of tooth came out. That, and he could feel blood running down from his cheekbone, and he knew that soon it would start staining his collar. His ears were still ringing from the blow when the leader of the raid was speaking, but the Lieutenant understood none of it; to him, it sounded as though a much deeper-voiced version of the teacher in the ancient cartoon Charlie Brown was speaking... while underwater. However, he did not need to hear to comprehend was was expected of him, and he laboriously returned to his feet and fell in along the side of the others as they were ushered into a bare, sterile, and vaguely menacing room. However, by the time the door locked behind the party, his head had cleared, and he could feel every little bit of discomfort he was in, and he found himself grateful, for the very first time, that he suffered from chronic pain. He had known, intellectually, that such a condition would raise one's pain threshold; thus far it had been helpful with minor things, but he wouldn't be surprised if that was the one thing keeping him functional at this point, with his mouth throbbing where teeth had been damaged, his cheek pulsating where the skin had been cut, and his knee smarting where, he just realized, the skin had been broken when he'd come down. However, they had some time now. Probably a whole lot, but they had a few moments to at least think. Making his way to Commander Quinn, he managed a nod. "Tactical assessment, Sir, says the situation isn't good." Of course, it wasn't good and he was stating the obvious. But, the pale joke was a way for the Lieutenant to release some stress. Of course, the Science Officer would be familiar with conduct after capture protocols, and they would have to sum up what they knew thus far. "By the sound and feel of it, I'd say our flight was entirely in atmosphere, so we're not too far from the colony. I can't start to guess at their numbers, but like you established on the flight, the one who led the raid isn't more than middle-management, and the ones under him might not be the most professional. Lots of casual violence, so that tells me thugs and bullies, and they enjoy just hurting people for its own sake. And it looks like they have something personal against Miss Rexan. Now question is, how much can we trust her?"He had been speaking quietly, and while, on paper, he was the expert in such situations he expected Petty Officer Velal would have more practical experience and Commander Quinn was in charge; respecting the chain of command in a crisis was key to survival and eventual escape. "In the meantime, I'd recommend we get Chief Som and PO Velal to get a look at our restraints, see if they can start breaking us free."Indeed, make his recommendations, let the Sir make the call... and keep their eyes open. [PO3 Jovireh Velal - Unknown Location - Room 5]There was something about the way the guard felt as he carried Left Ear into the room that made Jov's lip curl in disgust and anger, but she said nothing as the Sivaoan was dropped on the floor and they were finally left alone. One of the engineers went to help her, and Jovireh's attention was drawn to Kaya. The Chief was obviously on the verge of breaking, she could tell that even without the panic clawing at her own chest. Between her fear and Mara's guilt, it was getting rather difficult for the empath to focus. But she had to focus. Situations like this is what she was here for. Taking a deep, steadying breath, she moved over to kneel in front of Kaya, speaking softly and as comfortingly as she knew how. "Hey... We're going to get through this. It won't be easy, and we can't afford to just sit back and wait... But we will get through this." It wasn't that long ago that Kaya had been in another fight for her life. Jovireh didn't blame her for being so shaken now. "Just do what they say for now... And I'll do whatever I can not to let them touch you again." She knew she couldn't promise the other woman wouldn't be hurt, but she could promise to do her best to protect her. She heard Niles talking to Quinn behind her, and though she couldn't quite make out what he was saying, she did hear him mention her and the Chief. "You're the best Engineer we've got. We need your help if we're going to get out of here. Think you can focus on that for a bit?" Remind her of her strengths, and hopefully she won't focus too much on her weaknesses. [NPCs - Jaggah & Thammirc - Room 5, Unknown Location, Serenity]Jaggah contemplated another violent strike against Rexan, as a punishment for the Commander's unwanted talk, but decided to refrain from it. They would suffer soon enough. "Get Leran," he whispered to Thammirc, as he watched the starfleeters making their way, pathetic, to room 5. He let them have a brief moment to settle in, even to try to console each other, and then entered himself. Sure enough, they looked pathetic. "What did we say about talking?" he asked, as he went and grabbed Mara Rexan with his considerable strength. He carried her to the table, and then strapped her on it in the prone position, releasing the hogtie in the process. Like a charm, Thammirc came in, with Amira Leran draped over his shoulder. The half-Betazoid had been dressed in an old medical gown, and some of her wounds had received rudimentary medical care, just enough to keep her alive. So confident were they that they'd broken her body and spirit with repeated torture sessions, that she wasn't restrained at all. Her bare feet, in particular, stood out as having received the worst treatment. "This was once Amira Leran, a scientist," Jaggah explained, as though Amira was already dead, while Thammirc threw her to the floor, for the fleeters to see. "If you misbehave, Mara Rexan will be the same."Jaggah and Thammirc left, and the door closed behind them. [Left Ear to-Ennien - Serenity - Room of Doom] Petty Officer Djigo was quite unfortunate that she was so close when Left Ear began to rouse from unconsciousness because she came up off the floor with a snarl that echoed around the bare room, teeth opened wide to snap at her captor. We want to help you, and get out of here, but we need more information. Is there anything you can tell us about what they’re doing here? What did they want from you?”[Lt. Commander Isaiah Quinn - Room 5, Serenity] With each passing minute, it seemed that things were getting even worse. The trek from the hanger to this Room 5 hadn't yielded much in the way of information. The only thing it presented was more uncertainties. Isaiah was hoping that either Velal or Niles had picked up on something that they could use to their advantage, but he didn't have much hope in that. As they reached Room 5, Isaiah's eyes scanned the room which was mostly empty. Of course, there was a table towards the center of the room... a table with restraints. Quinn's eyes narrowed at the sight. Seeing Kaya finding a wall to sit against gave the science officer the impression that quite a bit of this was beginning to get to the young officer. Quiet... withdrawn... distant. Those weren't traits that he typically associated with the young engineer. They needed her to be focused and hopeful if they stood any chance to get out of this. Niles approached him with a tactical assessment. It was actually one that Isaiah easily agreed with. "So, not hopeless. At least that's working in our favor," Isaiah commented. He could tell that the situation was grim, and hearing Niles speak didn't make him feel much better. Though, it did motivate him to try and think of a way out of this. "I agree that it's personal," Isaiah stated. "Though it still feels like it reads of something bigger. That grudge is carried much easier without us in the picture." A long sigh left his lips. "As for trusting her... let's trust that she wants to live."Niles mentioned having Velal and Som look into the restraints. Quinn nodded. "Once we don't have an audience," he replied. Once again, Jaggah flexed his muscles and made his threats. Though, this time he did so by showing them a woman who appeared to have been tortured within inches of her life. He made it clear that their obedience was likely the only thing that would spare Mara Rexan from suffering a similar fate. Isaiah didn't buy it. Jaggah would likely carry out that threat regardless. Once Jaggah and the others were gone, it was clear that they needed to act then. It was obvious that the members of the away team had been trained well. Lieutenant Th'zhaar had already begun to check on this woman, Amira Leran. It seemed that Velal and Som were conversing quietly about something. It was certainly nice to see her engaged once again. "Is there anything here that we could disrupt a magnetic field or catalyze an exothermic reaction?" he asked. He was hoping that it could possibly spark Kaya's imagination, but in all honesty there wasn't much that they had to work with. Another good sign was that Left Ear seemed to be stirring. Isaiah gestured to Josh to join him with Mara as he moved closer to the table. "Ms. Rexan," Isaiah began, "if we're going to have any chance of getting out of here, we need to know who these people are. We need to know what you know, and we need to know quickly." Hopefully, they'd learn something, either from Mara or Amira that would be of use. Though, finding a way out of these cuffs would be just as pleasing.

[ Amira Leran - Room 5, Serenity] Now that she had a few minutes to recover slightly from being thrown on the floor like she was some kind of toy. Amira was able to focus on her surroundings, remembering what they had done to her in this very room before she was taken to the office. Fighting the anger within, Amira then became aware of the man who had spoken to her. Opening her eyes with what little strength she had left as she pondered his questions. She knew that he was telling the truth and freedom did sound good as she began to speak with much effort. Her voice hoarse and weak but she was determined to do so. " I don't know the exact reasons but I've heard them talk about revenge and wanting to punish... someone called Thea and Mara?. I was taken prisoner when they raided my lab and forced to help them develop a serum that was ultimately used to destroy the colony's crops if they disobeyed them. But when I did the same and refused to continue they did this to me. Jaggah mainly but the one in charge had his turn, not that I ever saw their face".Amira fought against the tiredness as she added. " I don't know the exact number of people in this gang but there seems to be a lot of them and they also have ships, one was tasked with drawing the Mac away".

[ Mara Rexan - Room 5, Serenity] Considering her position and the way she had been tied down on the table. Mara focused her attention on the ceiling above as the Fleeters continued their quiet conversations about finding a way out of this as well as speaking to the prisoner named Amira. She felt sorry for the scientist before her attention shifted to Commander Quinn when he approached the table and began to ask her questions. This time she didn't hold back or pretend, especially when she heard Amira mention her and Thea's names. She wasn't sure why someone would want revenge on them both but perhaps they would soon find that out as she spoke. " They came here a couple of months after we arrived, claiming that they were here to help us set everything up. But then they began to make demands wanting our crops and equipment as payment. But when we tried to reason with them, they destroyed our crops and started to take our people."" We didn't know what to do, so we just kept working out of fear of regular visits and not knowing what they had done with the others. However when they learned that the Mac was due to arrive with supplies. They offered us a deal to free our people in exchange for the supplies and forced us to ask for extra. I wanted to tell you the truth but then they showed up early and clearly had no intention of honouring that deal, since they took your team and those of us who were left".

Quinn's voice brought Kaya to the surface enough for her to return his glance and get to her feet along with Yande and trudge on in a self-protective haze. Out of the transport, down a gangway, into a hangar, and through a series of featureless hallways and into a cold bare room marked 5. Kaya hesitated in the doorway. As best she could, rolling the Sivoan into a more comfortable position. Étienne followed the lead of the officers in getting Mara Rexan where she needed to be. "I'm not even supposed to be here," he said with an uncomfortable laugh. "I switched with someone. Believe that?"Yande for Ozu Saya (Left-Ear); Fournier for Isaiah Quinn , Joshua Niles , Jovireh Velal , Thea Baker (Mara) [ Left Ear to-Ennien - Serenity - Room of Doom] Petty Officer Djigo was quite unfortunate that she was so close when Left Ear began to rouse from unconsciousness because she came up off the floor with a snarl that echoed around the bare room, teeth opened wide to snap at her captor. ---------- Tag Kaya Som , soft tags to everyone [ CPO Kaya Som, PO3 Yande Djigo ]To Yande's surprise Left Ear came to in violent shock and Yande pulled away. I think they come apart in the middle." Ozu Saya (Yande for Left Ear), Jovireh Velal (Kaya for Jov), general tags for the rest. [PO3 Jovireh Velal - Unknown Location - Room 5]Everything was happening all at once. Left Ear awoke in a panic, Mara was strapped to the table, someone else was brought in and dropped off on the floor with more threats from their captors. But Jovireh's focus remained on Kaya. Slowly, gradually, the Chief began to pull herself out of her mind, her gaze shifting into focus before she spoke. Jov smiled and nodded at the request, turning on her knees so the engineer could inspect her binds. "Could it be a magnetic lock?" she asked quietly, watching as Shavan and Quinn talked to the colonist prisoners. Good... It seemed everyone was doing what they could to pitch in. It gave a much greater chance of them getting out, than if everyone was arguing and at each other throats. She remained in position between Kaya and the door, partly to allow the Chief to continue inspecting the cuffs, and partly to block her from sight of anyone else who entered the room. Her attention shifted to Left Ear, though. While she hadn't attacked the engineer who was trying to help her, she was still wide-eyed in panic, running on survival instinct rather than processing where she was. Rather than speaking, Jov clucked her tongue a few times, before relaxing her mouth and releasing a slow breath, imitating the sound of a purr as best she was capable of. It wasn't exactly like what she had heard the Sivaoan use to calm Kiz that day in the park, but she hoped it was close enough to have a similar calming affect on Left Ear.

[Lt. [ LT Joshua Niles - Serenity Colony, Undisclosed location]
Given just how Mara Rexan had been lying to Starfleet about their situation, indeed trust would be hard to get by. Commander Quinn understood that; but with survival and not wanting to be tortured as a motivation? Well, that was something to at least establish a degree of trust between them, even though it would certainly be strained, and subject to the old adage of 'trust but verify'. When Quinn motioned to him to follow, in what restricted way he could given the restraints, the Tactical Officer came along. At this point, information was needed, and while the Science Officer would have a certain ear for things, certain things might not register with him; after all, that was the very reason Starfleet had various tracks and specializations, for no one could be expected to be familiar with every bit of knowledge that is required to address every situation. And why department heads and specialists were consulted and employed for any operations, to fill in the gaps of knowledge even a Captain or Admiral may have. As he listened, he first shelved Commander Quinn's questions about breaking free away for later use, instead focusing on what both women had to say. The battered scientist, who still seemed to have some fight her her left despite her current state, was a surprise. He fully expected to find her so beaten down that even finding herself in a room full of people who actually were all trained to some degree in escape and evasion, or at least had the skills to make a valiant effort at it, would not spark any resistance within her. But the mention of a desire for vengeance against Miss Rexan, and possibly Commander Baker? That had been an interesting piece of news. However, what followed from Rexan was a better synopsis of what had been happening on the ground, and the deal she'd struck, and they had broken. "Ma'am," started Niles, his voice having gone flat and hard as he tried to step on the aggression and anger that were welling within him. "Why didn't you inform us before we beamed down, or even before we got into the system? I've been in touch with Sheriff Marais, if only through written means. You sent us your list. If you had told us, if you had told Commander Baker who claims you as a friend, we could have done something about it while we controlled the orbitals, and had all of Mac's resources at our disposal. Even called away, Mac could have left a lot more people and some small craft to support us." And then, he cut himself off as his control on his voice started to waver and the last few words came out far more sharply than he would have preferred. A few deep breaths later, he turned to look at Commander Quinn. "Sir, they left us our communicators, so we still have their power cells and their transceivers. And we do have some tools and components we might be able to use. But getting at them, let's just say I'm not looking forward to the experience."

It was a miracle they hadn't all died months ago the risks they were all constantly forced to take. Working with the Nyberrites, Perry getting himself blown up, not to mention the Talorians and the actual deaths in the nebula. It was a miracle they weren't all dead already.

Working with the Nyberrites, Perry getting himself blown up, not to mention the Talorians and the actual deaths in the nebula. It was a miracle they weren't all dead already. [Lt. Commander Isaiah Quinn - Room 5, Unknown Compound, Serenity] Simply overhearing Thea's name quickly grabbed Isaiah's attention. He listened to as much as he could of Shavan's interview of Amira. It seemed that someone held some sort of grudge against Mara and... Thea? Merely the thought of such a thing seemed so foreign to the science officer. It seemed Amira was tasked with creating some sort of serum that put the colony's crops in jeopardy. It was also confirmed that Jaggah wasn't the one in charge, but someone else's attack dog. The numbers weren't in their favor either, but information whether good news or bad was always useful. It was then Mara that shared her piece. Her testimony help fill in even more banks. It seemed the people of Serenity had been approached by these people under the guise of offering assistance. Yet, the hand of generosity was shortly replaced by one of malevolence. That was when the colonists had been taken, and their resources extorted. And finally, the sudden change of plans after the Mac's arrival... after Thea's arrival. And then, as Amira had said, having ships to lure the Mac away. Quinn instantly began to wonder about the safety of his girlfriend. It certainly wasn't anything he could do about it while being bound in this cell. The next thing he heard was Joshua giving Mara a thorough tongue-lashing. His words were accurate. She could have taken a risk to let them know so that they could prepare. He didn't immediately allow much opportunity for her to defend her actions, yet Isaiah wasn't sure that she would. "Easy, Mr. Niles," Isaiah said softly. As much as he agreed with Josh and shared his anger and frustration, none of that would serve them presently. He then pointed out that they were still in possession of their communicators, not that they'd be easy to work with, especially with each of them currently bound. "You're right," Isaiah said flatly. He began to look about the rest of the room. His eyes falling briefly upon Left Ear who seemed to be on the verge of panic. Isaiah wasn't sure how to soothe the Sivaoan and get her to act rationally. The snarl that had escaped her lips earlier wasn't very inviting. Though, there was a slight droning hum... or purr... that seemed to be coming form Jovireh. The science officer arched his eyebrow, wondering exactly what she was doing. Quinn then heard the elevated voice of their youngest engineer. The Chief was just as frustrated with everyone else, and her brisk language seemed to confirm as much. It was then, that a potential idea came to mind. It wasn't entirely in his wheel-house, so he needed to rely on the closest thing they had to an expert. "You're absolutely right," Isaiah repeated to Josh. He then focused his voice on Kaya. "Chief, I know these aren't ideal conditions, but you are the best shot we have at getting out of this. And that starts with us getting out of these cuffs. You didn't make it as far as you have by being lucky at your job. You got here by being damned good at it. That's the Kaya we all need."Isaiah took a deep breath before he shared his idea. "I just need to know if it's plausible. If we know what could work, we can always figure out how to make it work," he proposed. "Our combadges... is it possible that if we attach enough of them to one of these cuffs, that it could generate enough subspace feedback to trigger the latching mechanism on the cuffs?" It was a longshot... and there were a variety of factors that could play into the effectiveness of his proposal. Yet, if the cuffs could be controlled remotely, it was plausible that interrupting it's signal with the controls (if only for a second) could almost force the cuffs to reset. Possibly given someone a chance to free themselves. The scientist's eyes watched the young Trill... wondering if his words had had any effect. Wondering if his idea had any promise, or if he'd even triggered the slightest bit of inspiration within the young engineer. Mainly, he needed her to not only have hope, but to be willing to fight for it.

[Lt Shavan Th’zhaar - Room 5] It was a relief to see that Amira had enough mental clarity to be able and willing to answer questions. That was a start. The fact that the gang had been extorting the colony for some time and had been responsible for calling the Mac away only confirmed his existing suspicions. But revenge against Thea and Mara? As in, Thea Baker? He hadn’t been expecting that. “What sort of revenge?” Maybe they’d find out the boss’s plan for them soon enough, but anything else Amira could say about what they really wanted could be useful. Something else she said caught Shavan’s attention, and while it appeared that talking was exhausting her he had to try to get as much information as possible while they had the chance. “Have you seen where they dock their other ships? Or anywhere else in this building?” The other ships were a threat, but more importantly something they could use. If they did succeed in getting the cuffs off and escaping the room, taking one of those ships could be their way to get out of there and to contact the Mac. One of the ones they had threatened the colony with would be a much better option than the transport. And that was something Shavan could help with. Failing that, it would at least be good to try to gain a better sense of where they were and what else was in the building. tag Thea Baker (Amira), soft tags everyone

[ Mara Rexan - Room 5, Serenity] Shame washed over Mara as Lieutenant Niles started throwing accusations at her, despite his best intentions not to get angry. She understood his and everyone's frustration with her but didn't they think that she wanted to tell them everything, how she hated deceiving them?. If anyone deserved to be angry it was her but she couldn't muster those emotions and how she had ultimately been betrayed. As Quinn told Niles to essentially calm down, before they discussed the possibility of using their comm badges to free themselves along with the others in the room, specifically Chief Som. Mara spoke up as she defended herself and answered his accusations and disbelief. " Lieutenant, I understand your anger but please you've got to realise that I never wanted any of this to happen. One of my friends Avery was killed as punishment when we came up with a way to try and warn you and Thea. After that they made sure every message whether it was verbal or written was sent with them watching us and often telling us what to say and write".She didn't care what happened to her in that moment or whether they chose to maintain their anger and ignore her to concentrate on their escape. However it was important to her to show that she wasn't some traitor. Tears flowed freely this time as she turned her gaze away from them.

[ Amira Leran - Room 5, Serenity] As much as Amira was aware of Mara and the conversations that were continuing around her. The scientist blocked them out temporarily in order to focus on her own conversation with a fellow scientist. Not that she could tell him much more as he asked what about the Boss wanting revenge and what sort it was or his next question about her seeing where they docked their other ships. " I don't know what sort of revenge it is as it was never mentioned to me. Although they seem obsessed with Mara and this Thea Baker. As for their other ships, I haven't seen where they're docked. All I've ever heard is that they were in position and that there's two of them".There was however one thing that she could answer when Shavan mentioned if she had seen anywhere else in the building. " Apart from this room and the lab, I've been inside the Boss's office and where they are keeping the other colonists".****************[Hooded Figure - Room 5, Serenity]
Stopping just outside the door, the hooded figure took a moment to speak with the people that Jaggah had chosen to guard the prisoners. Pleased with what they had to tell them, the figure then opened the door and walked inside. They should no emotion or acknowledged the Fleeters or the disobedient Amira as they moved towards the table and Mara.
No doubt the others would be curious as to why they hadn't said anything and pretended that the prisoners existed. However the figure didn't care as they focused on one of the people they had wanted for a very long time.
" I've been waiting for this moment and now I finally have you where you belong. You've become such a beautiful woman Mara, not that you weren't before, so how about we show your new friends what I'm capable of?".
The figure did nothing but simply stare at Mara at least for the moment.
