1. Kaya Does a RunnerIn which Kaya Som has had enough and goes AWOL.Starting immediately after s1m2 Secrets of Serenity, maxed out on danger and disillusionment, Kaya is going to run off without telling anyone where she's going. And then have to make some big choices once the consequences roll around. How to be involved: Someone will need to notice she's gone and then someone will need to go fetch her. People who spend time with her up until now will have seen some warning signs she's not doing great. She won't be hard to find as she won't be in critical-thinking mode. Following the actual journey, there's plenty of space for people to react to it with their two cents. When: This would probably take up time during the February mission/event. And for Kaya, consequences definitely affecting the next few/several missions/events. (Aftermath and career consequences are being worked out with command/admins.) 2. Friend SquadIn which Kaya Som has some friends/peers that aren't NPC'd by me.Would you like to be Kaya's friend? Kaya treats Starfleet like a job more than a calling and, present drama excepted, likes the job. But she's a whole person and has a life and relationships outside of engineering. We could have fun in downtime threads reacting to ship/station goings on or coming up with our own interpersonal development stuff. Friendships I enjoy:- Bad influence friends - will party with her.
- Hate friends - they argue all the time but obviously like each other anyway.
- Intimate friends - a closeness that comes from time and achieves emotional and physical intimacy without being romantic or sexual.
Kaya likes political discussions, being nosy about others' lives, nerding out over tech, learning about other cultures, being petty, being loud, consuming media/music/etc. Kaya doesn't tend to relate well to career Starfleet, but there are exceptions. She's also put off by most humans, but again, always exceptions. Adoptables- Tarin Jin - she/her, Bajoran, 20s - Lower rank, Engineering. She's more buttoned up than Kaya but they get on.
- Oarren - he/him [surname: open; species: open; age: open] - Lower rank. Kaya's long-suffering roommate, but they're still friends.
- Apazi Fellin's grown children - he has two. I haven't established anything about them.
- Son, written by Jeb!
- Daughter, open
3. Please Look After This MottIn which the village raises a Bolian. This would start immediately after s2e9 Flotsam in which Avi gets pinched for assault. I can imagine her being detained for at the least several days, so someone will need to be taking responsibility for 12- or 13-year-old Mott. How to be involved: So far Apazi Fellin and Matthew Harmon are already involved. Fellin has him at his shop on the day, but will presently report Mott's lack of supervision to authorities. (I think he'd jump the queue and go straight for Judith Eastman initially.) Fellin would be a candidate to care for Mott because Mott spends time with him, but Fellin would decline. Someone from Starfleet would probably coordinate because Starfleet is the station government, basically. But I can imagine the citizen council wanting to offer an opinion/solution. I think station civilian characters like Mott and may have already been concerned about him with Avi being so erratic. Things that they might consider would be sending Mott back to Celladore where he was in the custody of his cousins for most of his life (but were content to let him go to Avi bc Bolians.) I see this deliberation being a thread or two. I'd also need a character to take full responsibility for Mott for maybe a mission-lenght? I'd love a thread or two. This will be hard for both Avi and Mott to deal with, but in the end they won't have a choice. Once Avi is stable, it would be her right to care for him again. And bonus, you'll all get to learn the truth about their relationship.

I am IN for doing a runner. I'd offer Charlie or even Gatesy as a concerned friendo, but any of the NPCs are at your disposal.

Jovireh is also available as a friend, as she's likely going to try and reach out to her after this mission anyway My soon-to-be-alt could also be a friend, if Kaya would be more interested in someone who has no idea what she's been through.

RunnerI am IN for doing a runner. I'd offer Charlie or even Gatesy as a concerned friendo, but any of the NPCs are at your disposal. Great! The AWOL thread will take place directly after the current mission. I'm not sure how that will line up with the Feb mission. The timeline in my head is she arrives at her destination after about 4 or 5 days, so maybe a two week total time off station from start to finish for anyone going after her. But it could be longer depending on how things go. I have some ideas for extended aftermath, also, but we can feel it out. Don't want to plan it out moment by moment. Friend SquadJenkins is available as a friendo. He needs someone to have fun with. Jovireh is also available as a friend, as she's likely going to try and reach out to her after this mission anyway My soon-to-be-alt could also be a friend, if Kaya would be more interested in someone who has no idea what she's been through. Shavan is available as a "bad influence friend" Jovireh Velal, I don't know who your alt is, but if they fit Kaya's friend profile, yay! Judith Eastman and Shavan Th'zhaar, great! We can do things once Kaya's back.

I think it's safe to say that S'Riia misses Kaya. I think they got along fairly well as friends. It's definitely something I wouldn't mind revisiting in the near future, especially considering Kaya's impromptu departure.
Another potential friendship, which may/may not fit into what you're looking for are my newest NPC's the Moras. I know that Ezra would work in Engineering along with Kaya. But I can see him (awkwardly) seeking her guidance to help with his resident handful (Rimi) whom is half-Trill. She may be able to check the 'hateful friend' box, but simply food for thought at this point.

I have two opposing ideas for a young Apazi:
(1) Straight-laced kid who tried his best to follow dad's footsteps, but feels in some way inadequate. Maybe a civil servant or member of the Bajoran Militia, but I can see the case for private contractor or even Starfleet.
(2) Starry-eyed artist (I imagine there was some revival of traditional art in newly-free Bajor), who maybe had a difficult relation with Fellin growing up, but might now reconnect with mellowed-out dad.
Let me know how those sound, and we can flesh one or the other out in DMs.

Judith Eastman - I like both of these! They both stink of baggage and offer room for both characters to grow. Feel free to take one on anytime and show up unannounced. I'm sure there are several bones they could pick with Fellin likewise.
Also, I've added a plot idea for Mott and Avi above. Anyone, let me know if you're interested!

Devra would quite happily foster Mott for as long as needed. She'd end up viewing him as the grandchild she'll never have, so lots of spoiling.

Matt has taken an interest in Mott, because he's smrt and street urchins make good spies. Also because he feels guilty about Avi (not that he will ever admit that!). So he could definitely be involved, especially since he's currently looking for Mott. Matt fostering Mott for a bit could be a very chaotic possibility, but open to pretty much anything in respect to Matt's invovlement.

Judy can make a brief appearance in the Mott plot, as the human router that punts the case file to someone who can manage it directly (I can offer Mabel as that point person). She's going to a big conference after this event, and then she'll be absorbed in her own things.
As for Apazi the younger, I'll pounce when an opportunity arises. It'll be a surprise.

Arrangements for Mott1. Thank you Judith Eastman for having Judy and Mabel get things rolling! 2. There will need to be an immediate placement for at least a couple of days. I want to establish that the Federation's policies are a) of in the best interest of the child, and culturally fluent. Family structures of the child's culture are the primary basis for what happens. In that vein I don't know that Matthew Harmon would be anyone's first choice for a temporary placement, no offense, as he's in the dog-house. If Devra ( Jovireh Velal ) has a good reputation and childcare experience, she would be a good temporary placement. 3. Regarding permanence, the Federation would need to establish a few things: is Avi actually kin, if so what is her capacity to raise a child according to Bolian norms, and if there is other kin. In the meantime, the Federation get Mott into a Bolian home on the station ASAP. Status: Mabel and Matt are wrangling Mott. Hide and Seek. Next steps: Thread for Mott's temporary placement. Let me know if anyone's game! Oh, Avi, Dear AviSo I like to think justice in the Federation is less punitive and more restorative. It would be good character development for Avi if the Frontierians make some effort to reintegrate her into the station community and make some sort of restitution to Conor ( Charlie Fox ). She'll need some kind of solicitor/lawyer/representative. I think Judith Eastman had volunteered Sir Doug? Status: Avi is in security. Next steps: Thread for Avi getting interviewed about lightly torturing Conor. Moz MobYes, I think I'll have about 60 Bolians show up at some point.
