[ Oskar - Makeshift Hospital] Being a Serpent Ravager was all Oskar had ever known, his cockiness outweighing his pride, especially when it came to attractive women. So boasting and revealing the organisation's name was second nature to him, even if he was paralysed and threatened with prosecution. When his Interrogator then called him a Moron again, before she moved away after being advised to do so by the other pretty Redhead. Oskar was sad to see her go, deciding that he would rather live, if it meant that she got to ask him more questions. " I'll see you again Sweetheart" he called out, as she disappeared from view. Now it was up to his captors whether they would let him live or be crushed by any debris once the blockage had been cleared. Lucky for him, the other Redhead pulled him out of harm's way. Leaving him off to one side before he could thank her. ********** [ Thea - Makeshift Hospital] Everything was going according to plan as Left Ear went to Niles' side, without the need for further encouragement or reassurance and the others moved out of harm's way. Not that she blamed Charlie for leaving him. What should of been a pleasant experience had soured thanks to these so called Serpent Ravagers and they weren't going to go unpunished. Speaking of the Ravagers, Thea knew that she couldn't let the paralysed attacker die, even if they wouldn't be sad about it. He was more useful alive than dead, so pulled him to safety and would deal with him later. That happened just in time as Shavan began to clear the blockage, the seconds ticking by slowly or so it seemed until he succeeded in clearing a path against one wall. Leaving Left Ear to see to Niles, who had been given more painkillers. Thea rushed over as Shavan called for a medic and realised who was with him as she stopped in front of them. " I've got her Lieutenant and thank you" she began as she made sure that Jovireh was safely handed over. " Vulbrix needs help at the command centre, there's a Raider outside wanting to make a deal. I need you to go take him into custody, stun him if you have too and I'll meet you there, once I've seen to Jovireh".Thea knew that they would need to regroup and discuss what their next steps would be. But for now she trusted Shavan to deal with the Raider whilst she did what she could for Jovireh, until they could return to the ship.

[CPO Jovireh Velal - Serenity - Caves]Time was nothing but a blur as the rocks slowly disintegrated under the heat of the phaser. Jov was doing her best to focus on anything other the pain and lightheadedness. His scent, his strong arm around her, his body supporting hers, the concern and urgency he felt. At the very least it helped ease the desperation she was feeling. Suddenly the whine of the phaser ceased, and Shavan called out for a medic. Turning her head and opening her eyes, she breathed a sigh of relief as Thea rushed over to them. The shift between supporters caused another flash of white hot pain through her leg, and she clenched her teeth against the whimper. It was almost over... As the Captain ordered Shavan elsewhere, Jov gripped his shoulder briefly and gave him a smile. "Thank you. I'll be okay." As much as she wanted him to stay with her, the crisis wasn't over, and they needed all the able bodies at work. So after releasing him and adjusting her other arm around Baker's shoulders, Jov took a deep breath and focused on the nearest cot, silently counting each hobbling step to keep herself going.

[USS Mac]
After receiving the intel from Ensign Vulbrix, Mila had relayed everything to those on the Bridge. A plan was then devised and the hunt had begun in order to track down the source of the dampening net. The minutes ticked by as each crew member worked at their consoles, sharing data and theories, until they hit the proverbial jackpot.
They may of been trying to mask their signal and hide. But the loss of the dampening net and dropping their shields, to let in the survivors who had escaped the fight in the stars and below had exposed them. However rather than announce themselves, the Mac swooped around in the opposite direction.
There in front of them was a ship of unknown design and despite it's size, weren't about to let it go. One starship against that thing might have some effect but with three, their chances of success had increased tenfold.
The Manderas and Hyperion had arrived just moments before and together they prevented the other ship from escaping. A victory for the small fleet, knowing that they had stopped these barbarians from inflicting anymore pain and death.

[ LT Joshua Niles - Caves, Serenity Colony ]Well, he certainly could take lessons from Charlie Fox all right! He had no qualms about admitting she was a better investigator than he was, but also quite the interrogator, given that their detainee just gave them a name. The Serpent Ravagers. He would have to write that down sooner rather than later, and start doing the work-up on hunting them down. Pirate scum, Federation law gave them far more than they deserved and he would most certainly... And his train of thought was interrupted by the hiss of a hypospray that suppressed the pain the first shot had taken the edge off of. "Thanks, Skipper," he fairly sighed in relief. Beyond the blindingly obvious, he didn't know the full extent of the damage to his leg, but the fact that there was nothing below his knee to move implied the burns would extend high enough that he'd lose his knee as well between removing tissue that was beyond saving and preparing his leg for the permanent prosthetic attachment and... No, he couldn't think about that right now either. Not when it was time to move. By the time the brave, and bloody, Sivaoan got to his side he had slipped his captured disruptor into his jacket pocket, and brought his good leg up. However his attempt to rise under his own power ended with his backside not even getting halfway to clearing the edge of the crate he was leaning against and falling back down; this time, it was only the heavy dose of painkillers that stopped him from screaming when his stump connected with the ground yet one more time. However, he did look to the felinoid, and through the pain, exhaustion and shock, he did manage a smile. She as a physician and he as a tactical officer, they were very much complete professional opposites. But he could definitely admire what she'd done earlier and it didn't take an expert on her people to see that she was shaken. "Catted... Sorry, I mean Cadet to-Ennien? Left-Ear? I know it doesn't feel like it, but you're all right. Take a breath, take your time, there's no rush."Well, their situation was not exactly one that would reward any sort of dawdling, but there always was a point where hate made waste, and right now the Cadet struck him as needing to be given a chance to sort herself out before moving on. Which made Joshua Niles wonder, would he actually have been that forgiving just three months ago?
Tag Thea Baker Left Ear to-Ennien Soft Charlie Fox [ Cadet Left Ear to-Ennien - Makeshift Hospital] The idiot was trying to get up again. ' Stay down,' Left Ear said brusquely, popping him lightly on top of his head with her padded hand. She'd lost all semblance of a bedside manner, or rather, had reverted to how she'd treat an adolescent Sivaoan who was acting similarly stupid. At the last moment, she remembered that humans' heads weren't as hard as Sivaoans' and barely tapped him. She did pause and take a shuddering breath. It would be better to move him to a table, but for now, he'd waited long enough for treatment. The Sivaoan whipped a incongruously brightly-colored useful from her pouch and spread it under the stump of his leg to keep it from continuing to be directly in the dirt. She lifted his limb as carefully as she could, even knowing that he'd had painkillers. She moved back a little and grabbed a squeeze bottle with a long, bent neck that had been knocked from a table. With little ceremony, she squeezed the disinfectant over her hands and forearms, trying to wash away the worst of the blood and get at least semi sterile. With the medical technology they had available, perfect sterility wasn't always necessary, but she didn't want to cause further problems for Niles by cross-contaminating him with someone else's blood. Finally, she pulled free her tricorder and scanned the man's leg. Oh, my. It was really bad. Left Ear was out of her depth in dealing with an injury like this, and with everyone else busy taking care of others, she decided to manage what she could. Since they seemed to have taken care of the raiders, they should be able to get Niles back to the ship quickly for further treatment. She set aside the tricorder and pulled out her medkit, loading a hypo with a broad-spectrum antibiotic and injecting it into the lieutenant's neck. ' Don't move,' she ordered. ' I have to get a few things,' she added as she moved away to hunt for the supplies she needed amongst everything that had been knocked off of shelves and tables. tag Joshua Niles

Though, at this point Niles hardly needed pharmacological assistance towards drifting off. The adrenaline was wearing off and the shock of his injury and the exertions that followed had finally caught up with him, and after attempting to get up, for which he'd found himself getting thwapped on the head over so gently for his trouble, he had no intention of going anywhere. Odd, the feeling of the Cadet's palm against his head, like a cross between a human hand and a cat's paw. Not entirely unpleasant, but definitely unusual, he found himself thinking. However, despite thatr thoroughly unorthodox way to express her displeasure, he could definitely appreciate how Left Ear was moving, the care she was taking to not further hurt him, even at the cost of one of her own personal possessions. Once more a hypospray hissed into his neck, and she informed him of what came next... along with yet another admonition to stay down... which he hardly needed. He had brought up his good leg to support himself in a more upright position, and doing so he discovered that his muscles felt completely bereft of strength, as though he had nothing but overcooked noodles from the hip down. And he was starting to shake, badly at that. "Not going anywhere, Doc," he replied, still managing a ghost of a smile. He knew he was badly hurt, but with the pain under control, and the absurdity of having been bopped on the head a fresh memory, and a no small amount of shock, left him in a surprisingly relaxed mood in spite of everything.

[ Shavan Th’zhaar - Caves, Serenity] The Captain was a welcome sight when she rushed over to help Jovireh the rest of the way inside the makeshift hospital. Shavan took a step forward, expecting to go with them until he processed what she said about the raider at the command center. A protest crossed his mind for a second, wanting to stay at Jovireh’s side. But of course they were right; this wasn’t over yet, and that meant his place was there, regardless of whether the strain was getting to him too. He nodded quickly in acknowledgement of the order. “I’ll deal with it, Captain.” Giving Jov a faint smile in return, he briefly reached up and touched her hand when it rested on his shoulder. “I’ll see you later,” he replied more quietly to her, then started off towards the command center. It was almost unfortunate that this one wanted to make a deal, otherwise he might just ‘forget’ to switch his phaser off the disintegrate setting. Shavan stepped around the corner, phaser drawn and immediately trained on the raider. “Drop your weapon and put your hands up” he called sharply to the man trying to get in the door, waiting to see if he really would cooperate. [ Thea - Makeshift Hospital] Thea could tell that Shavan was reluctant to leave Jovireh's side, a response that she only knew to well. Having experienced it both in the past and during these last hours of hell. It was the simplest and most accurate way to describe what had happened as Shavan acknowledged her order. The exchange and farewell between the two officer's, was touching and reminded Thea of the bond between each and everyone of them. Another reason to fight and protect the sanctity of the friendships and relationships that had been forged out in the deepest edges of space. Although this wasn't just about them as they fought to preserve every life. Thankful for that moment of clarity and not forgetting that this wasn't completely over, as Thea guided Jovireh over to the nearest cot. Aware of her obvious pain and injuries on the outside, Thea couldn't rule out internal damage either. With Left Ear dealing with Niles and witnessing the Sivaoan keeping him in check. Thea thought it was one way to stop him from moving as she reached for a tricorder and medkit. " I'm going to give you something for the pain and to fight the infection" Thea stated gently, once she had scanned her. That was the priority as they didn't want it to spread any further or start affecting her internal organs. One hypo was pressed against the security officer's neck, before it was quickly followed by another. Checking her vitals, Thea then focused on her more serious injury, cutting away the material in order to get to the damage underneath.

[ Ianto - Outside The Command Centre] Ianto hated waiting, especially when his life and fate hung in the balance. Some might call him a coward for what he was doing, but considering the alternative and only joining the Ravagers, because it sounded cool. The Argellian was soon beginning to realise that being a member wasn't living up to all of the hype and promises. He was far better off trying to convince the Feds that the information he possessed was worth more than some fortune or ending up dead, because he had betrayed the brethren. Then again Ianto hadn't expected reinforcements as Shavan rounded the corner with his phaser drawn and aimed directly at him. It took a second or two for the Raider to fully register what was going on and wasn't going to go to all of this trouble for nothing. Not that he blamed the Feds for not trusting him and immediately dropped his weapon as he appealed to the man in front of him. " Hey don't shoot.. I only want to make a deal and nothing more".

{Spoiler}{Quoted Posts} [ Thea - Makeshift Hospital] Thea had just received the acknowledgement from Shavan, when another call came through, this time from Ensign Vulbrix. The CO was happy to hear not only his voice but also the news that they had made contact with the ship. However something more serious had to be dealt with first as the Ensign informed her about the Raider who apparently wanted to make a deal. Understanding the request for assistance and the offer to help get information as the CO was aware, of Myker's abilities. Not that she would ever ask him to use them, unless it was on his terms. So she kept that offer in mind as she responded to him. =/\= Baker to Vulbrix, acknowledged.. I'll get someone to you ASAP and I appreciate the offer to help =/\= There was little that she could do at the moment, but she wasn't about to let Vulbrix and whoever was with him down. It also appeared as though the paralysed attacker was happy to continue now that he had essentially told Niles to shut up. Thea didn't need the tactical officer to over exert himself so this was the perfect opportunity to give him more pain relief and hopefully get him to rest properly. She was also going to need Left Ear to focus, especially when Shavan called again, with what he was about to do. Not to mention that the attacker had revealed a name and hinted at their employers. However the priority was to make sure that no one was in the way with Shavan preparing to disintegrate the blocked entrance. =/\= Acknowledged, Lieutenant and see you shortly =/\=" Everyone who is near the entrance, move away quickly and Left Ear, I need you to help me with Mr Niles".Thea wasn't sure if the Sivaoan would hear or acknowledge her, after the trauma of the initial attack. Although Thea needed her, since they were about to deal with more injuries.

He didn’t have a weapon, which in hindsight wasn’t his brightest idea, and it was obvious that Kaya didn’t either. =/\= Acknowledged, we'll sit tight =/\= He acknowledged Thea’s words, the irony intentional. It's not like the could go anywhere even if they wanted. ”Someone is coming to deal with him.” He told the Trill nodding towards the door, his voice somewhat hushed because hearing that would give the Raider a head start on escape. Myk was pretty sure there wouldn’t be any dealing done today, Starfleet don’t work with people hell bent on destroying innocent lives. Myk had made light work of quickly working out the motives of the man behind the door, Myk also learnt his name was Ianto. With someone headed their way Myk took a moment to observe their Chief, his concern for her welfare finally making its way through the mugginess that was his mind. Although he found other humanoids difficult to communicate with, he was still a Betazoid and the empathy his people possesses forced its way beyond any of his own hang-ups. ”How are you holding up?” He asked her, he wouldn’t deprive her of her dignity by suggesting she wasn’t anything but on top form, even if it was obvious she wasn’t. Besides she’d done that plenty herself, wheat beer was a terrible idea for her, especially if she'd consumed amounts disproportionate to her smaller size which the Betazoid had assumed based off the brief moment his mind was unprotected. Myk’s attention snapped to the door when a different voice was heard in the fray, Myk recognized it as Lieutenant Th’zhaar . ”He’s telling you the truth." Myk offered, not that it would help the raider’s case but it would at least mean rash action wouldn’t be taken or at least that was his reasoning on it. Myk was also aware the man possessed information that could be useful but he’d chosen to refrain from poking around long enough to know for a certainty. Thea Baker for Thea and soft for Ianto. [CPO Jovireh Velal - Serenity - Caves]Laying back on the cot caused a wave of relief to flood through her, and Jovireh almost lost consciousness right then. But she took a deep breath to focus on Thea's voice and nodded weakly before feeling the hyposprays press against her neck in rapid succession. It should only take a few minutes for them to start taking effect, then she'd be at least partly useful again. She could hear the quiet beep of the tricorder scanning her, and then felt the rest of the fabric being ripped away from her lower leg to further expose the burn. Thankfully that probably meant she wasn't in worse condition than she had realized. Not wanting to feel the agony she knew would come as soon as the Captain started cleaning the dead tissue, Jov took another deep breath and allowed the lightheadedness to carry her into the waiting darkness. They could wake her when she was needed...

[ Shavan Th’zhaar - Caves, Serenity] Shavan held the phaser aimed steadily at the raider’s chest as the man turned and dropped his weapon. “Now step away from the door.” He might be there to see about that deal, but he also wasn’t going to take any chances. Though another voice soon called out through the door saying the raider was telling the truth; that must be Ensign Vulbrix, the Betazoid. That was good to know, even if Shavan wanted to make his own judgment. When he continued speaking it was calmly and invitingly. If the raider thought he could make a deal, he had to have something in mind to offer. “I’m listening. Cooperate and start talking, and you’ll have your deal.” There were still things they needed to know, that this one could be the first to tell them. Thea Baker Myker Vulbrix

[ Thea - Makeshift Hospital] Considering the severity of the burn on Jovireh's leg and how long she had gone, before being able to get treatment. Thea decided to let her sleep, knowing it would be good for the healing process and to avoid the unpleasantness of what she was about to do. With the burn now fully exposed, Thea began by cleaning the affected area, then removed the dead tissue. The Doctor didn't rush or skip any stages as she meticulously ensured that the injury was sterile and free of any infection. Then Thea moved onto treating the damaged skin, using the dermal regenerator to encourage new growth. Sweeping it back and forth several times until the skin was left unblemished and healed. Satisfied with the results, Thea then moved onto Jovireh's other injuries and repeated the process. ************** [ Ianto - Outside The Command Centre] Ianto nodded and began to move away from the door, knowing that he was smart enough to not end up stunned like the others. Although for a brief moment, he paused at the sound of another voice coming from the other side of the door. Of course he was telling the truth, but didn't comment as he silently thanked whoever had spoken. He knew better than to lie and besides he had nothing to loose by talking. The lure of a potential deal and them wanting his cooperation had Ianto singing like a bird, unashamed by what he was about to say. " I'll cooperate.. don't you worry about that" he began. " Name's Ianto and this has been planned for months. There was supposed to be no survivors and you caught Bravo, he's one of the leader's. The other one is called Alpha".

[ LT Joshua Niles - Caves, Serenity Colony ]A beauty of modern painkillers, many of those designed for field use did not fog the mind as much as some of the more potent ones available.

She left again and returned, pushing a pole on wheels, which she adjusted to a lower height before crouching back down next to the lieutenant. Blowing out a breath, she got started. First, the Sivaoan ripped open a packet and carefully slid a sterile pad under Niles' stump, glancing up at his face to make sure the painkiller was still doing its job. She made a mental note to find out how much he'd been given before administering any more. With practiced ease, Left Ear inserted needles into his arms and soon had a bottle of electrolyte fluids and a pint of blood running into his veins. Her nose wrinkled as she stood to hang the bottles from the pole. The Klingon's blood was drying her fur into stiff spikes, which made her skin pull and itch. But she would have to just work through it until she had time to get a bath, and the Sivaoan was realizing that it was going to require full immersion into a deep tub or pool of water to get this mess out of her fur. She was going to need something for the stains, too. Blood on white fur did not come out easily. Finally, Left Ear was able to turn her full attention to the catastrophic injury. She took another shaky breath to brace herself. It was horrifying, but it must be worse for him. Or maybe not. Left Ear recalled that he'd lost his hand previously, so maybe it wasn't quite so shocking to him. Her wandering thoughts made the healer realize that she was a little bit shocky herself. ' This next part may be uncomfortable,' she informed her patient. ' But I don't think it will hurt. In any case, I don't want to give you anything else for pain until I can find out how much you've already had. Wouldn't do to overdose you.' She tried to make her tone light, but didn't think she'd succeeded. Grabbing the bottle of disinfectant she'd used earlier, Left Ear aimed the angled spout at the stump and squeezed, swiping the gentle stream of sterile saline back and forth across the surface of the injury. It wouldn't get rid of anything that was embedded, but should remove any dirt and debris on the surface. When she was done, the sterile pad was no longer clean and both it and the useful were soaked, but thankfully, the ground sloped a little away from the officer, so he wasn't now sitting in a wet spot. Left Ear hadn't thought about that before she started. She ripped open a clean pad and replaced the wet one, then opened a sterile bandage. It wouldn't stay sterile, but with the antibiotics she'd given him, there was little risk of infection setting in before they got him back to the ship. Left Ear was as gentle as she could be wrapping the bandages over and around his injury, but she constantly glanced up to make sure she wasn't causing him undue pain. Tag Joshua Niles

Tag Joshua Niles As shock's grasp upon him tightened, the concept of time became rather nebulous for one Lieutenant Niles. However, it couldn't have been too long since he'd been left there. In fact, he'd let his thoughts wander at this point; whether Mac was a debris field or still in the fight, whether a distress call had gone out, whether this was just the calm before a further storm, those notions were actually nowhere near his train of thought. Well, not entirely there. But what he found himself thinking about was trying to steel himself with what was to come, and knowing he couldn't truly prepare himself for it even with his previous experiences. However, when Left Ear returned and lifted his leg, he tried to keep himself as relaxed as possible... and finding it actually a challenge. The painkillers were keeping the agony of his wound under control, or at least at a level he could tolerate quite well given his experience dealing with chronic pain. But his surviving nerves, deep within the stump, and his brain were still trying to make heads or tails of this new reality where there was nothing below his knee. Which meant he was finding himself feeling pins and needles where there was nothing at all, or trying to wriggle toes that were somewhere else in the cave system. Most disconcerting... And unpleasantly familiar. And, a credit to her training, the Cadet was speaking to him, seeking to keep him apprised of what she was doing, and warning him of impending discomfort. "Thank you," he replied softly while she went to work. And yes, it was certainly not exactly pleasant to have his wound irrigated with some sort of antiseptic. However, there was the matter of overdosing on pain management. Well, of course there was that... "You're the doc, Doc," he managed to reply with a ghost of a smile. "Given I'm not planning to wrestle anyone anytime soon, I think I'll be good for a while."Now, hopefully 'a while' meant he'd be in a proper surgical bay before the resources in the bunker would run out... And, despite having thwapped him on the head, Left Ear was quite gentle in applying a basic dressing to his stump, and just as she was securing it in place, he reached out just to place a hand on her furry, and well-befouled, upper arm. "Thank you."

[Serenity - Outside The Caves] Now that the enemy ship had been dealt with and it's remaining crew taken into custody by the Hyperion. A combined taskforce from the Mac, Hyperion and Manderas beamed down to the surface of the attack ravaged colony. The fires that had continued to burn were a stark reminder of what had happened here, along with the bodies that were scattered as the teams did their preliminary sweep. Some teams remained to deal with the fires, search for any survivors and treat the dead with respect and dignity. Whilst others moved forward towards the caves, capturing any rogue attackers in the process until they reached the blocked off entrance and made contact. =/\= Moralis to Captain Baker and everyone who can hear, we have multiple teams on the surface and have captured all remaining attackers and their ship. The colony is now secure and will be with you momentarily =/\=Accessing the entrance only took minutes and soon teams were filing in to assist.
