[ Capt. Oberon Vega (bio) ][...] "Th'zhaar! Cerjess!" He hopped down from Rover 2 and beckoned over their science officers. "Come here." Vega drew Th'zhaar and Cerjess out from the rovers by several paces for an indiscreet word. He crossed his arms and scratched his neck, unbothered that private conferences didn't do a great deal for team morale or Ferengi paranoia. "I think the Ferengi could be sending out comms somehow. Is that possible?" he asked. [Lt. JG Cerjess Miren - B-975 III - Desert]With only slightly more grace than he had exited the rover, Cerjess crawled out from beneath it when the all-clear was given. Straightening the protective robes he wore, spitting out a mouthful of sand, he swatted at the lingering bugs that had attached to him. "Maybe I should have gone into entomology. At least then I might enjoy this part." He commented idly to Shavan, noting the other scientist seemed less than pleased with the personal space invaders. Cerjess wiped a hand over his mouth, trying to get rid of the rest of the sand. When the Captain called Shavan's name, and his own... the Trill blinked and for a moment just stared after the CO in stunned silence. He quickly hurried over though, not wanting to be one more reason to add to the Captain's bad mood. At the question posed, he frowned, rubbing a hand over his chin in contemplation. He glanced over the Assistant Science Officer, hoping the smooth-talker would have an answer. But this did fall within his own realm of expertise... If he didn't come up with an answer, could he really expect anyone else to? "It is possible they've found a way to get through the radiation... But if that were the case, would they really need our help?" [ Shavan Th’zhaar - Desert, B-975 III] Shavan glanced toward Cerjess as the other science officer emerged from underneath the rover beside him. As he quickly wiped off the remains of the squished bug, and his own blood where it had stung him, he decided that he was glad he was not an entomologist. However, there was little time to stand around and chat, as the Captain suddenly called for both of them. He grabbed his tricorder from the rover and followed a step behind Cerjess. When Vega posed an interesting question, he considered it. Their own instruments and limitations thereof had obviously confirmed that the radiation in the atmosphere disrupted electromagnetic waves. Simply boosting the signal wouldn’t work, or they would have done it. Yet, he agreed that it may not be impossible for the Ferengi to have found a way… and rarely put full trust in anyone’s motivations. Maybe they had an ulterior reason for being here, and were leading them into an ill-conceived trap. Maybe they were simply protective of their technology… or needed help, even with it. Remembering way the Ferengi had acted, Shavan narrowed his eyes in thought, considering any possible ways to get around the disruption to communications. “Maybe… if they found a way to disguise the signal inside a different pulse that could get through the atmosphere, they might be able to send short messages.” Pausing to let Cerjess give more input, he quickly typed a few things into the tricorder. Vega presumably wanted facts, not speculation. Syl O'Connell Kaya Som

[ PO3 Eliska Bremmer - Rover 2 ]{Quoted Post(s)} [ Rol the Ferengi pilot ]Rol, in defiance of whatever the Starfleet security troll intend, approached Gabar protectively and began to help Gabar out of the tarp. "We can't contact the ship," he whispered with a look over his shoulder. "The atmosphere has interference, remember." In the course of fussing over Gabar, he heard Bremmer's excuses. Humans and their childish need to explain away their own self-preservation as an act of good will to the species as if they were soooo special. "Pah!" he sniffed at her. "I do not like being outnumbered." [ Capt. Oberon Vega (bio) ]Vega stalked across the sand towards the second rover and hauled himself up. "I said take cover, not build a &%@$ing condo. Everyone else was able to figure it out - good Lord, Bremmer." Her hands were bloody up to the cuff. "Get out of here and get your hands sorted with the medic in the other rover. Medic!" Left Ear to-Ennian had somehow graduated, in Vega's mind, from 'that cadet' to 'the medic'. "Thank you, Petty Officer!" he said to S'Riia who'd found something useful to do. "Everyone else, don't be like Bremmer." Then to the Ferengis - "tell me when you're ready to get under way. Med kit's in the front." But he wasn't done. "Th'zhaar! Cerjess!" He hopped down from Rover 2 and beckoned over their science officers. "Come here." Vega drew Th'zhaar and Cerjess out from the rovers by several paces for an indiscreet word. JG Syl O'Connell - B-975 III - Middle of Nowhere]The buzzing faded as the swarm continued on their way, but the screeching of the Ferengi only got louder and more desperate. What the hell was going on back there? As she moved from her crouched position, she felt her back strike the steering console above her, and she realized that getting back out of cover was going to be a bit more difficult than getting into it. Several moments of careful twisting, with a few winces of pain from her protesting joints, and she was sliding feet-first out of the rover. The sand cushioning her feet was a relief to her knees and her hips, and she was able to turn her attention to the scene at the back of the rover. It appeared that something had occurred between Eliska and the Ferengi... but with the Captain there now and the fact that she hadn't seen any of it... Syl decided it was best to stay out of it. Quietly reaching into the pack she had stashed earlier, she grabbed the hypospray she'd learned to always bring with her on missions and reached into her robes to subtly inject the pain reliever into her spine. ' I'm here!' she called, struggling in her little sand hollow. She got to all fours, but paused as she continued to feel flies trying to get free of her fur. With a growl of frustration, Left Ear stumbled to her feet, the soft sand throwing off her usual balance. As she looked around and saw many of her crewmates with injuries, the Sivaoan gave up on delicacy and yanked the last few flies off her face, ripping out hair along with them. ' Everyone who needs medical treatment, come here!' Left Ear called confidently. It was the only area where she had the authority to order around, well, anyone. She pulled her big medical kit from the second rover and opened it on the seat. Then she stared at the squealing roll of Ferengi for a moment before pulling out her tricorder, tapping off the sand, and scanning the roll of tarp. Left Ear blew out a heavy sigh. ' Okay, I need him unrolled very carefully, if someone could help, please? Eliska, come here. Let me treat your hands,' she said, noticing volume of blood. She didn't notice the blood spotting her own fur as she fell into her role. Tag Felicity Ellis , Eliska Bremmer , William Waring , Syl O'Connell , kinda everybody And there went Vega again. The man was definitely the kind who would be impossible to please; last she had checked, Security's job was to keep everyone as safe as possible, not just their own self. And if anyone on her rover had gotten hurt while she protected herself, she was ready to bet he'd be jumping down her throat for that too. So, rather than do anything, she took advantage of the layers of fabric around her face and her goggles to hide the sneer she was wearing. And those Ferengi, she would hardly be heartbroken if anything happened to them. Especially as she was getting an impression they knew more than they were claiming. Of course, she had no way to prove a gut feeling, and voicing it, well, would probably just get her to be further ignored by the likes of Vega. But, she hardly needed to be told twice to go get her hands looked at, even though it had happened. Now, getting out of the rover without the use of her hands, that had been a little more challenging, and she did leave a number of bloody smears on the interior on her way out, along with a few rather vicious curses in an assortment of languages, until she got to the Sivaoan. "Thanks, Doc," she said as she extended her hands towards her. The palms and the interior face of her fingers were mostly intact, protected from those bugs either through being in use, or through the reflex of exposing their backs to harm as to preserve the ability to grip on things. Which meant the back of her hands might look, charitably, as though they'd been introduced to a cheese grater that was spitting out those vicious little creatures.

[Officer Gabar - Rover 2, B-975 III]"Ah, yes, yesss. Much interference." The pain was making poor Gabar delirious, and forgetful. But he saved himself smartly enough, he believed. He had learned during his time spent with other species that Ferengi were usually the more suspicious ones in a room by nature. Though judging by the murderous actions of the human female who had tried to kill him, he would have to reconsider his evaluations. Rol was carefully helping him to unroll from his cocoon, and once he was freed, Gabar lay on the bed of Rover 2, groaning with pain. The pilot had retrieved the med-kits Vega had provided, and was tending to the many life-threatening wounds. At this stage it would be unwise for them to trust anyone else. "My lobes, don't forget them, Rol," Gabar reminded him, slapping him on the arm whenever he got impatient. The wave of an osteo-regenerator began to work its magic on the fractured cartilage. The damage to his rib might have been more of a concern to others, but to a Ferengi, lobes were first above all else. His fellow Ferengi helped to prop him up against a seat, tarp wrapped around his waist and tucked beneath his thighs to keep him warm and comfortable. Eventually Gabar signalled to the Starfleet Captain that they were ready get back underway, complete with a request to have his assailant stationed in a different Rover.

Vega presumably wanted facts, not speculation. [ Capt. Oberon Vega (bio) ]Vega lowered his eyes in thought. Neither scientist denied the thing was possible. There were no magical revelations that the Federation shipboard engineers hadn't sussed out, but Th'zhaar and Cerjess had some ideas. With the Ferengi Alliance, ne could never assume full disclosure, but regarding their survival they were entirely reliable. "Fine. Monitor their equipment. Keep it quiet, but if they clock we're watching, all the better. We'll see how they cover their tracks." Then Vega winced. He reached down his collar and pulled out one of the tiny prickly glassflies. Its shimmering wings flickered as it tried to escape Vega's fingers. Such a tiny thing had caused them a great deal of trouble - but an opportunity as well. Vega handed it to Miren. "Could be useful." "And don't lose me that trail, Th'zhaar!" he added with a wolfish grin, before turning to break the huddle. Shavan Th'zhaar , Syl O'Connell (Miren)

[NPC - PO1 S'Riia - B-975 III Desert (Rover-1)]S'Riia had been quick with her search, and as thorough as possible. She did come across a few more of those insects, about their equipment. She resisted the urge to just squash them with the butt of her phaser. The ones she found were either aimless and didn't know where to go as if something were disorienting them. With a little shooing some of them eventually moved in pursuit of the rest of the swarm. The others seemed to be dying. S'Riia assumed they'd simply succumbed to injuries of smashing into the hard surfaces of their equipment. Nevertheless, she did conclude her examination. She waited for the officers to conclude their pow-wow. When it seemed there was an opening, S'Riia approached. There was always the chance she would get her head bitten off, but the Captain needed the update. "Excuse me, Captain. There doesn't seem to be any damage to our equipment. Some of the casings are a little scuffed courtesy of those... bugs... but in working order." S'Riia maintained her proximity for a moment in case Captain Vega had additional orders.
[Lt. Commander Isaiah Quinn - Bridge, USS Mac ] A long sigh left Isaiah's lips as he stared at the readings on his screen. "Well, that's not natural," he murmured to himself. He turned to look at the screen beside him. His eyes scrutinized everything. Atmospheric harmonics... solar fluctuations... there was just some sort of rhythmic echo he couldn't explain. He'd tried to determine if the Ferengi had detected it or learned of it as well, but their science officer saw no profit in such a collaboration. "Computer, run a level two diagnostic on the lateral sensors. Display results to my station when complete." Isaiah continued picking at the issue as he waited for the results.

[ Cadet Left Ear to-Ennien - Rover 2] ' You're welcome,' Left Ear said, almost absently as she got her dermal regenerator and started sweeping it across Eliska's hands. The Sivaoan sometimes forgot how delicate Humans' skin could be and thanked whatever spirits there were that injuries hadn't been worse. She saw the two Ferengi out of the corner of her eye. Left Ear had intended to treat Gabar as soon as he was unrolled, but since his comrade seemed to be handling his injuries competently enough, the cadet looked around for other of her own crewmates that needed attention. ' Petty Officer S'Riia? Lt. O'Connell?' she called, glancing at the same time toward the small group that included the captain but not wanting to interrupt. None of them looked visibly injured, so they could probably wait. Tag Eliska Bremmer, Isaiah Quinn (S'Riia), Syl O'Connell

[Lt. JG Syl O'Connell - B-975 III - Middle of Nowhere]Thankfully the situation with Eliska and the Ferengi settled down quickly and Vega departed to talk to the scientists. Slipping the hypospray back into her pack, Syl climbed back into the rover and started up the engines again. "I'm good," she replied to Left Ear asking if she needed attention. "Just a few nicks it'll take too long to get to." Well, and the throbbing stiffness in her joints, but that what the hypospray was for. It would kick in soon and the pain would be negligible. The sooner they got underway, the sooner they could wrap this up and go back to the ship. Left Ear to-Ennien [Lt. JG Cerjess Miren - B-975 III - Desert]Well, at least Lt. Th'zhaar agreed with him on the possibility. Cerjess nodded at the new set of orders. "Yes sir." It should be relatively easy to monitor the Ferengi equipment, since he was supposed to be constantly scanning for the local lifesigns anyway. Rol and Gabar likely wouldn't notice when he switched between scans. When the Captain handed him one of the bugs, he blinked down at the tiny thing in the palm of his hand, briefly wondering how useful it would be. But there was no point in arguing, so he nodded and made his way back to the rover to find a specimen container to put it in. Tag Kaya Som Shavan Th'zhaar

[ PO3 Eliska Bremmer - Rover 2 ]The dermal regenerator felt like magic on Eliska's flayed hands. As the beam worked its wonders and closed her wounds, with the little creatures still embedded there falling off on the process, she could feel the fire subsiding. Of course, she was still a mess of blood well to the cuffs of her sleeves, but the deep sigh of relief was something she could not hold back, especially as she started flexing her fingers to return full feeling to them, and confirming that there was no real damage there. Losing use of her hands while on mission, that would make her worse than useless. Though, now that she was back on track, she returned to her rover and foraged through her pack for a moment and withdrew a single moist towelette and cleaned the gore from her skin and hauled herself back into her seat. If she was wanted elsewhere, well, she was taking orders from her superiors within Starfleet and would do just that. But in the meantime, Rover 2 was her home away from home.

[ Shavan Th’zhaar - Rover 1, Desert, B-975 III] When Vega told them to watch the Ferengi, Shavan nodded along with Cerjess. Provided they had the right ideas and the Ferengi were sending indeed sending communications somehow, he was sure that with with them both looking for it, they would figure it out. “Aye, sir,” he agreed as Vega turned away. While Cerjess took care of the bug specimen, he walked back toward Rover 1. With everyone preparing to move on, he quickly got in and took the same seat as before. Narrowing his eyes, he turned his attention back to his equipment and typed a few things, ready to monitor both the ion trail and anything else out of place. Kaya Som Syl O'Connell

[ Capt. Oberon Vega (bio) | Rover 1 ]Captain Vega peeled off from his scientists and was intercepted by S'Riia, the other wing of the security detail. The Caitian had taken the initiative to inspect the rovers for damage. "Good. Document it. We want every bit of data we can get. Oh," he paused and looked over to rover 2 where the little hero had loaded up. "Keep an eye on Bremmer. She so much as glances Gabar's way, restrain her. My orders." With that, Vega closed the remaining distance to the rovers. He could see their medic was doing her job and the all the bleeding was over. "We need to keep going!" he said so everyone could hear. "Arses back in rovers and fix those covers. Eyes open! Two minutes. Oh, and Bremmer? You're relieved." Vega then began a lap around their vehicles and he wasn't above his own head count. No one left behind in the sand, leave no trace they'd been there except tracks. And no liabilities. Bremmer's command could sort her out when they were back, hopefully in a couple of days. Heading 142°, SSE Local time: 08:40a Sunset: 08:45a Temperature: 40F/4CThe away team continued on for hours as the sun B-975 made its journey across the sky. They stopped, but infrequently: once to retread a tire, another to let a herd of tall, shaggy herbivores to pass. The ion trail was getting stronger as they got closer, and when the rovers had to detour around untractable geography they were able to quickly find their heading again.
Captain Vega had little to say beyond what was needed to keep them on track. He was comfortable planet-side, even one so unfamiliar. So far they'd encountered no trace at all of the civilization it was imperative for them to avoid - even the passing herd had no indications of being tamed.
The only life signs Lieutenant Cerjess would have been able to sing out were wildlife - the herdbeasts and a lone, snuffling boar-like omnivore who was be-tusked enough that the party was content to blow right past.
When the sun began rushing towards the western horizon, Vega called for a halt to set camp. They found a sheltered site at the base of cliff with a view of the North. The rovers had been kitted out with everything they'd need, including low-light heat sources - like space-age campfires.
There was no further drama with the Ferengi, who had isolated themselves at the front of Rover 2. When they set camp, the pair of them huddled together, and kept their voices low.
Now, the sun was completely set, camp is set up, and everyone has the evening to relax, save a rotating pair on lookout. [ Capt. Oberon Vega (bio) | Cliffside camp ]Vega sat near the heat unit, drinking something hot and fortifying from a mug. "Considering the arc and strength of the ion trail, we can't be far. Before nightfall tomorrow," he commented to the others, letting the Ferengi have their conspiracy for now. "That is, if O'Connell doesn't drive us face-first into some carnivorous cravass. They have them on Relizissca XII - a geological survey found out the hard way."
Meanwhile, safely outside scanner range, five tall figures stood on a tall dune having tracked the convoy from their dust trail and now observed them through binoculars. These Ambirren, children of life in their language, were easily over seven feet tall. Their people had yellow or brown eyes, golden ochre skin, and hair on their heads ranging from pale blonde to red or brown. Cyran Iarsatra was past his middle age and strong from his life managing the amba fields. Now, he spent more time at a desk than among the dunes. That is until young Fulren had come to him months ago with a wild story: aliens in the Dranse. Cyran would never have believed him, not even when Fulren had brought him hunk of strange technology - a 'probe' Fulren had called it. No, it had taken skeptical Cyran laying his own eyes on the aliens themselves before he was faced with the truth. These small brown beings with their sharp teeth and wind-catching ears were real and nothing would be the same again. "They are more," he said. "Different this time. There at the base of the cliff." [Cadet Left Ear to-Ennien - Rover 2 --> Cliffside Camp]
Left Ear treated those who would let her, assuring herself that no one was injured badly enough for her to force her medical services on them. She waited until they were underway again before attending to her own injuries, holding her tail to stare sadly at the ragged fur at the tip where several of the glassflies had gotten stuck.
Other than that, she rode quietly, though a little more alertly than she had previously, hoping she could be quicker to help if something like the swarm happened again. She looked with some interest at the occasional wildlife.
When they reached the sheltered cliffside location, Left Ear helped unload what was needed, but rather than setting up one of the Starfleet-issue tents, the Sivaoan spent some time scavenging from a cluster of bushes not far from the site. She returned with an armful of slightly bendy sticks, which she proceeded to weave together until they made a low arch.
Then Left Ear pulled a couple of long swathes of thin fabric from her satchel. They were what her people called usefuls, though instead of the typical bright colors, these were neutral shades that blended with the desert environment. In no way could they be called dull, however. While the colors were muted, the patterns were beautiful.
She gathered the usefuls together and knotted them end-to-end, then took her arched sticks and tied the end of one of the usefuls at three points to it. Satisfied with this mystifying project, the Sivaoan laid it on the ground, dropped her desert robe and harness on top and went a little way from the camp, downwind, and proceeded to shake herself vigorously to get as much sand out of her fur as possible. It was hopeless, really, but Left Ear felt a little better. Her fur was fluffy as she returned to her things and sat on the usefuls. She'd set them up properly when she was ready to sleep.

[Officer Gabar - Rover 2 > Cliffside Camp]Initially Gabar had begun to make a fuss, appalled as he was at being expected to share such a small space with the violent Bremmer. But that horror turned quickly to a little sneer as Vega relieved her of duty. He stared at her, a pleased smile curving his lips. She deserved it. For trying to kill him, and then failing. He repositioned himself in attempt to get comfortable as the Rover took off once more. The ride was not smooth, but Rol had healed enough of his broken rib to make the movement manageable. By the time they'd made camp, he was exhausted. He could barely keep his eyelids open, yet he had taken the time to compile more "notes" in his device. He huddled next to the pilot, speaking in hushed, sometimes urgent tones. Every now and then he'd glance off into the distance, a distracted expression on his face. Vega and his people were chatting inanely amongst themselves, mostly about things unrelated to profit and interest in general, while the large furry house pet that had wanted to eat him earlier began crafting something. "What is thisss?" He asked Left Ear, pulling his blanket closer around his shoulders. She was making something to sit on, and was using things she'd found in the desert, of all places. Gabar wondered if this was perhaps a business opportunity.
Ahme Eletea pressed her binocs into her face, fingers tapping along the side of the field glasses to adjust the magnification. "They are different," she confirmed, and then continued, "And different again. There is one with fur."She had a horrible feeling about the whole thing. Ever since Fulren had begun his crazy chatter about aliens and probes and little brown men she'd been anxious. Others had dismissed it at first, but Ahme had recognised the ring of truth to the madness. "They all have different ears. Could they all be from the same place?"She turned to look at Fulren, the "expert". They had all manner of species here in the Dranse alone, surely, logically that could mean other places boasted the same? Other... planets. It was terrifying.

[ PO3 Eliska Bremmer - Rover 2 ]Relieved of duty? What the hell did that even mean on an away mission in the middle of a bloody desert? That she as supposed to become some random passenger who wouldn't lift a finger? Who wouldn't keep an eye out for hazards? Who was little more than ballast? Or was that just some noise to keep the Ferengi happy? Well, not like Vega was likely to explain himself, not when he treated every member of the Away Team as though they were little more than minions existing strictly to do his bidding as he dictated rather than members of a crew. When they stopped for the night and set camp, Bremmer had actually pitched in; after all, she was supposed to be out there too, and she'd be damned if she was about to just be there like a bump on a log while everyone worked, and before long, night fell, and so did the temperature. Robes were shed, and instead she donned a warmer jacket and a simple watch cap, and sat just the edge of the circle of warmth radiated by one of the field heaters, using her pack as a back rest as she wrapped herself in her bedding. The darkness and stillness of the night were actually comforting to her. Open sky, nothing but the pinpricks of stars while waiting for a moon to crest the horizon. No sound of engines, no sound of life support cycling air. The exact sort of things that she truly missed from her life before Starfleet. However, despite not being assigned a watch, she did bring her monocular optic to her eye and kept scanning the distance; it wasn't because it was a desert, that it was empty. The night was truly Stygian, but there still was a beauty to the land, even through the monochromatic display. Now, she was already firmly in the doghouse with Vega, so now the question was, would he consider this a sin? To observe the desert, both for its own sake, or in case something came up? Or obey blindly and do nothing at all? [ (NPC)Fulren - In the dunes ]It had taken quite a bit of nagging to be get Cyran to finally agree to go out and look those strangers in the Dranse over. But eventually, between having spotted those strange little ones with the sharp teeth and the wind-scoop ears and presenting some of their technology, something that had innards that had some resemblance to some fine optics strapped on the side of a spectrograph, he had been able to convince him to go take a look. And now, they were camped out at the bottom of the cliff. Not a bad place to set up camp, all in all, but it could have been better. Protected from the dominant winds, but if they'd gone just a little further out, they would have found a spring of good clean water. But they were outsiders... probably aliens from somewhere deep in space. Could they be from Nargothrond, the start closest to their own? Or from further? And, it looked like they had a pair of those small ones with them, and one who looked... furry? Now that was so fascinating! "I don't know Ahme! Like I told all of you, they could be from anywhere. They could be from Nargothrond, or even further out. But look at how many stars there are! If they can come here, who's to say if they're the same species? Or come from the same place? There's no way to know unless we talk to them! But it looks like the little ones, they're the ones giving the orders, look how it's approaching the furry one. Or maybe the furry one is the one in charge, there's only one of them? I don't know! Cyran, we must talk to them!"

[NPC - PO1 S'Riia - B-975 III Desert (Rover-1)]S'Riia nodded as Vega told her to document her findings. She had proceeded to do just that. As it was announced that they would be resuming their search, there was another tidbit that gave the hybrid Caitian pause. As Vega announced that Bremmer was relieved, S'Riia couldn't resist the urge to look in both his direction and in Bremmer's. In part, it was to be certain that she'd heard what she thought she'd heard. Yet, it was also to see if anything else was to follow. Yet, what else was supposed to follow the Captain's orders? It was one thing to time Bremmer out, but to relieve her of duty on an away mission? It wasn't like they could just contact the ship and have her return. It was possible that it was for the Ferengi's approval, but there were no guranatees of that. "I'm fine," S'Riia said to Cadet Left Ear. She wasn't about to whine about a few scratches, especially considering they'd heal just fine with a little time. "Thank you," she added to the Sivaoan. After making certain the equipment was accounted for, it's condition documented and everything stowed, S'Riia hopped back into her Rover as their search continued. While keeping watch of the horizon as they drove, her mind wondered to the logistics considering Vega's orders. Were security duties solely her own now, or was someone else pulling double duty? O'Connell? Shavan? Waring? As Vega called for them to set up camp, S'Riia did her part and proceeded to take first watch. She weighed the idea of keeping watch the entire night, and grabbing a few catnaps while on the Rover. Most likely, Vega wouldn't approve, but she could probably work in a second rotation later after an hour of so of resting. She lifted the scope of her phaser rifle to her eye and swept the area. There didn't appear to be anything in range, of course, if there was something further off in the distance they likely wouldn't be able to tell until it got closer. There was something that did capture S'Riia's attention though. The security grunt tapped her combadge and spoke in a whisper. =A= S'Riia to Bremmer. Pair your scope with your tricorder. It's less obvious," =A= she suggested. If Bremmer was intent on keeping watch in her own way, at least this way it wouldn't appear that she was outright defying Vega. And maybe if it appeared that she'd done her penance, he'd bring her back to active duty. It may be wishful thinking, but it could also help keep an official reprimand out of her record. Should be easy enough for Bremmer to conceal those items if the occasion called for it.
