[NPC - PO1 S'Riia - B-975 III Desert]
Luckily, the Ferengi didn't appear interested in testing S'Riia's patience. They seemed to default to simply being loud and complaining about how they were being treated. Yet, it seemed the locals weren't exactly impressed with this behavior and began to make their way around S'Riia and the Ferengi and move on towards the camp and Captain Vega. "On second thought," S'Riia began, "the Captain may want to have a word with them before he speaks to you two."
S'Riia gestured back towards the camp. "I think it would be in your best behavior to be on your best behavior," S'Riia stated. "I always found the 125th Rule of Acquisition[fn]"You can't make a deal if you're dead."[/fn] to be my favorite." If they were under the impression that Starfleet could potentially harm them, best to play it up and give Vega more time to resolve matters with the locals.

The sound of the tower of padds clattering to the floor, almost made Quinn feel guilty. His lips parted slightly as he entertained the best way to offer an apology, but nothing seemed to come to mind before Commander Ellis inquired what he had found. He took a deep breath and began to explain his findings. "Sir, I noticed an intermittent burst of radiation originating from the Ferengi vessel," he began to explain. "I've contacted their science officer several times, but he's been less than forthcoming about it. That prompted me to take a closer look."
Quinn pressed a few buttons and then brought up a wave-representation of the radiation burst. "Those burst appear to be able to actually penetrate all the ionization in the planet's atmosphere. Yet there's something else embedded within," Quinn continued. "I think those radiation bursts are being used... like a bottle carrying a message inside. Because this signature here... is reminiscent of a subspace transmission. Essentially, the Ferengi may be able to communicate with their colleagues down on the surface." Quinn studied the image for a few seconds. "I may be able to replicate it... but I can certainly prove it if you want to bring it to the Ferengi's attention."
